FAW Apollo Motors Takes a Dig at Pak Suzuki!

Social media is an amazing platform where top brands are always neck-to-neck giving their rivals a hard time to get ahead. Recently, we saw a surprising move pulled by FAW Apollo Motors, a Facebook page.

Apollo Motors is the company which deals in selling vehicles by FAW, a Chinese automotive brand. The Facebook page posted a picture of the Suzuki Wagon R and FAW V2 and did a comparison of both, claiming the V2 was better!

Syed Ahsan Hussain Zaidi shared this image on Khalid Alvi Facebook page, a famous page where media and marketing are openly discussed. The active members of the forum gave their two-cent on this marketing stunt.

Jerry Lewis, veteran Hollywood actor who is famous for his slapstick comedies, passed away Sunday morning at the age of 91.

The comedy legend was famous for starring in quirky comedies like “The Nutty Professor”. He was one of the most popular comedians of late 50’s and early 60’s.

Lewis came into the limelight in the 1950s where he teamed up with Dean Martin. Initially, the duo became a sensation in nightclubs, television and even movies but later parted ways in 1956. After the split, Lewis starred in groundbreaking movies like “Bellboy” and “Cinderfella”

Later he was featured in Martin Scorsese’s “The King of Comedy” and is also famous for his work in Max Rose.

Mourning a great loss to comedy, some famous celebrities of Hollywood have shared their thoughts on the 91-year-old legend.

‘Baaghi’ Drama on Urdu1 is Ruling the Rating Game!

With every passing episode, Baaghi’s story is getting fascinating and making us fall in love with Saba Qamar. The way she has absorbed Qandeel Balooch’s character for the biopic speaks volumes about her acting prowess.

The drama based on Baloch’s life has intrigued the whole of Pakistan! Everybody wants to know the curious story of the social media star, her early life and her sudden rise to stardom.

Evidently, recent rating reports prove that Baaghi has become a sensation in the nation! 

Within just four weeks, the drama is ruling the rating game for Thursday, 8 PM slot with a mighty 2.95 TVRs.

 

Hum TV has taken the second spot on the list. Just last week, the first episode of Daldal featuring Armeena Rana Khan and Zahid Ahmed premiered on TV. It seems both, Baaghi and Daldal will have a tough competition with each other in the upcoming weeks.

ARY bags the third spot on the list with Shadi Mubarak Ho, starring Kubra Khan and Yasir Hussain. Reeling below in the list is Geo Entertainment, Express Entertainment, and Geo Kahani.

Prior the release of the drama, Baaghi’s plot provoked a lot of debates and controversies. People did not shy away from bashing the idea of the biopic-story. The rest lauded Urdu1’s efforts and praised Saba Qamar for her stellar acting skills as the bold and brazen, Qandeel!

Episode 4 has taken a new turn in the life of Fauzia aka Qandeel Baloch. In the previous episode, we saw Fauzia’s marriage getting fixed with Sajid without her consent.

This episode reveals how Fauzia cleverly not only saved herself from marrying Sajid but also made sure that her parents agree to Abid’s proposal.

Fauzia tells her best friend that she has a plan up her sleeves. And that she is staunch about her decision of not marrying her sister in law’s brother.

She gets blamed for giving rebellious ideas to her sister.

However, everything goes according to her plan which not only boils her brother’s mind even more but also brings the issue in front of the Chaudhary of the village.

Knowing her ultimate fate, we tried not to hope for a better future for her however, Saba Qamar’s acting makes us feel inclined to do so.

The preview of the next episode shows that Fauzia finally got what she wanted, however at a huge cost.

The fate of Qandeel Baloch is similar to the other oppressed women of Pakistan. We hope that this male chauvinism and narrow-minded thinking changes in future.

We can’t wait to watch what happens next on Baaghi. The story so far has been interesting with a riveting performance from the one and only Saba Qamar.

Shoaib Akhtar is all Praises for this Bollywood Khan!

Our ‘Rawalpindi Express’ mastermind, Shoaib Akhtar who had made his debut with Kolkata Knight Riders against Dehli Daredevils. He won ‘Man of the Match’ for defending a low-total of just 133 runs.

While having a throw-back moment, the former Pakistani cricketer shared a picture of him in the KKR jersey celebrating their victory with none other than Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan!

The caption read as;

“Fond memory with a super star, a friend, and the most humble man @iamsrk #ShahRukhKhan #SRK #T20,”

Back in those days, other Pakistani cricketers used to be a part of IPL before the political unrests between both the countries. These cricketers include Shoaib Malik, Salman Butt, and others.

Akhtar ended with figures of 4 wickets for 11 runs from three overs, restricting DD to an even lower total of 110.

India Announces Medical Visas for Pakistanis on Independence Day

This Independence Day good news comes from across the border when India announced approval of medical visas for Pakistanis that had been under review for a long period at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

The news broke on Twitter after the Indian Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj shared it on her official Twitter handle. She asked the High Commission to grant the medical visa in all bonafide cases!

Here’s what Sushma Swaraj had to say:

With the ongoing tensions between the two countries, this comes as a breath of fresh air. The Commission has given out a visa to Faiza Tanveer who suffers from a recurrent ameloblastoma, an oral tumor. Her visa was previously rejected and she reached out to the Foreign Minister through Twitter asking for her to intervene in the matter.

Sushma Swaraj responded to Tanveer and granted her the visa in honor of Independence Day!

On June 13, a four-month-old infant, Rohaan, was also granted an Indian visa to undergo a heart surgery in India’s Noida after Sushma interfered in the matter.

However, this is not the first time brands have celebrated national heroes in such a way, a recent campaign led by Coke had the late Edhi Sahab’s portrait printed on coca-cola bottles. Known as limited collection items, these bottles and cans are supposed to be kept as souvenirs later on.

This week, HBO Spain did a major blunder and you won’t believe that they could do such a big BOO BOO!

Apparently, they’ve broadcasted the forthcoming 6th episode of Season 7, 4 days prior to the original airing date.

Premium subscribers of HBO had access to the latest installment, titled Death Is The Enemy, for a full hour before the blunder was addressed and the episode was removed!

But not before it was ripped and shared online!

Talking about the episode which consists of Jon Snow’s dramatic confrontation with the Night King and his White Walkers, some fans on twitter admitted that it is one of the most dramatic installments of GOT till date.

Someone said ‘Just saw the Game of Thrones leak. I won’t say anything except someone on my timeline called that happening 2 weeks ago & he was laughed at!


Another said: ‘Yes my episode 6 is ruined, though I knew it, I read a leak at the start of the season, but watching the scene actually destroys it.’

Looks like someone will get into major trouble for this yet again!

International Cricket Returns to Pakistan in September!

After 8 years, Sri Lankan cricket board has finally allowed its cricket team to visit Pakistan! The attack in 2009 had struck the international cricket in Pakistan so that the country was labelled as ‘unsafe’ due to security issues.

The Sri Lankan team’s bus was attacked by gunmen in Lahore. Since that attack, Pakistan has endured gigantically as Zimbabwe has been the only international team to visit Pakistan.

Chief of Sri Lankan Cricket Thilanga Sumathipala, said that after a security appraisal, the group has been cleared to play 3 Twenty20 internationals.He additionally included that the Sri Lankan team will likewise play “at least one” of those matches in Lahore, where the assault happened which left eight individuals dead.

Pakistani Man Reunited with Stolen Sony Ericsson Phone After 12 Years!

Have you ever been a victim to mobile snatching? This has been going on in the Metropolis since ages and thousands of mobile users have faced the agony of losing their prized possession at one time or the other.

A recent incident shared on Facebook by a citizen of the Metropolis has created an uproar on the internet that shocked everyone!

Tanzeel Ur Rehman was reunited with his long lost Sony Ericsson phone that was taken away from him through a mobile snatching incident. He received the age-old beloved mobile with the help of the Citizens- Police Liaison Committee.

The phone was snatched on gun point 12 years ago and he received the phone in mint condition, just the way it was before being taken from him. The phone in question was the Sony Ericsson K700i.

Tanzeel has a beautiful message in his post to everyone: 

“It is now a souvenir of hope to me, If it is mine it will come to me what ever it may take.”

Pakistan is gearing up for the best time of the year, ‘Azaadi Day’ is celebrated with great zeal and fervor across the country. Preparations are in full swing and brands have rolled out the special TVC’s solely dedicated to Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day.

Edhi, Malala, & Bacha Khan Make it to Vienna Peace Museum’s List of ‘Peace Heroes’

The Vienna Peace Museum launched the ‘Peace Heroes’ in 2014 where they feature personalities from both historic and modern times.

This year’s list for the 2017 edition, the museum has announced Abdul Sattar Edhi, Malala Yousafzai, and Bacha Khan as part of the prominent peace heroes.

It is great to see the world appreciating the efforts Edhi put in towards humanity.

As the founder of the Edhi Foundation, Pakistan will remain forever to Edhi ‘Sahab’ for his endless services to the nation.

The Museum announced Abdul Sattar Edhi’s inclusion in the Peace Heroes list through the official Twitter and Facebook account.

Edhi Was Nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize

The Vienna Peace Museum also includes Bacha Khan, Pashtun independence activist. He is known as the ‘Pakistani nonviolent activist and the founder of ‘Servants of God’ movement.

Malala Yousafzai is also included in the list for her unwavering services to humanity and peace globally.  The rest of the list features leaders and renown names such as Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Kofi Anan among many other historically significant personalities.

India Issues Easy Business Visas For Pakistanis

The tensions between India and Pakistan are still ongoing across the borders. However, this has not caused any issue on the trade front.

As reported by Sputnik international, in order to boost the bilateral trade with Pakistan the Indian government has announced the issue of a multiple-entry visa to Pakistani businessmen. Only those with proven credentials will be issued with this visa.

India’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju informed the Parliament on Wednesday,

“Multiple entry business visas of up to three years can be issued to Pakistani nationals of assured financial standing and credentials with visits restricted to maximum 15 places in India excluding restricted and prohibited areas.”

Businessmen of the SAARC countries who are eligible for a multiple-entry business visa for a period of 3 years and more will be issued with a special ‘India Business Card’.

The Minister, Karen Rijiju further added,

“There is no objection to the criteria/guidelines for issuing the business visa and India Business Card to businessmen from Pakistan”

The ‘India Business Card’ has a special logo and is only given to businessmen of high repute.
