Wait Is Over For Kamran Ghulam

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi’s Exclusion Shocks Pakistan Dressing Room

babar-azam-shaheen-afridi-shocks-pakistan-cricket-team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to drop seasoned players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed for the upcoming two Test matches against England.

This bombshell came in the wake of Pakistan’s crushing defeat in the first Test, where they were beaten by an innings and 47 runs—despite posting a mammoth 556 runs in their first innings.

Panic Mode Activated?

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah haven’t been in their prime form recently. But dropping them completely? That’s got fans biting their nails. Sure, Sarfaraz’s exclusion makes a bit more sense—he’s not getting any younger, and the board might be thinking long-term with a younger wicketkeeper.

But still, it’s Sarfaraz we’re talking about! The former captain who led the team to their only trophy in the last 15 years. You just can’t bench him like this.

The decisions were made by the PCB’s new selection committee, featuring the likes of Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, Asad Shafiq, captain Shan Masood, and head coach Jason Gillespie. No doubt these guys have cricketing brains, but some of these choices are hard to digest.

The Curious Case Of Exclusions

Both Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah were reportedly dealing with some health concerns during the first Test. Shaheen was down with a cold and mild fever, and both pacers experienced discomfort throughout the match.

They even reported their concerns to Shan Masood and Jason Gillespie, hoping to get rested from the next Test. But they were dropped for both matches, leaving them scratching their heads.

According to inside sources, Babar didn’t ask for a break; in fact, he was raring to go for the second Test. Both Shan Masood and Jason Gillespie wanted Babar Azam to be part of the lineup but the selection committee thought otherwise.

The exclusion of Sarfaraz Ahmed has left even more people scratching their heads. Sure, he’s only played one of Pakistan’s last six Tests, but he’s a former captain and still a massive presence in the dressing room, offering crucial support to Shan Masood.

This bold shake-up could go either way—it might ignite a spark or send Pakistan spiralling even further. Only time will tell if these drastic moves will pay off or raise even more questions about the PCB’s strategy.

Samsung Delivers A Hilarious Dig At Apple Yet Again

Source: Mashable

Samsung and Apple have long been rivals in the tech world, with each brand holding a strong position in the smartphone market. However, when it comes to advertising, Samsung often stands out for its witty and bold approach, taking direct shots at Apple. Over the years, Samsung has consistently targeted Apple in its campaigns, often poking fun at iPhones’ features, or the lack thereof, in clever and humorous ways. Whether it’s the removal of the headphone jack, the absence of fast chargers, or the long-awaited foldable phones, Samsung seizes every opportunity to troll its Cupertino counterpart.

Apple’s Indirect Response

Interestingly, Apple rarely responds to Samsung directly. While Apple does mock Android in general, Samsung always seems to be their unspoken focus due to its dominance as the top Android manufacturer. This selective targeting makes one wonder if Samsung’s fixation on Apple goes beyond simple rivalry. Could there be an element of admiration hidden behind the humor?

There’s no denying the effectiveness of Samsung’s strategy. By consistently calling out Apple’s shortcomings, Samsung positions itself as the more innovative and daring alternative, eager to deliver features Apple holds back. But does this constant trolling, at times, come off as desperate? Some critics argue that Samsung’s marketing can sometimes backfire, as it appears overly fixated on Apple, almost as if seeking validation from the very company it mocks.

Is Samsung Overdoing It?

On the flip side, fans of Samsung appreciate the brand’s fearless approach, finding the playful ads amusing and refreshing. They see it as a fun reminder that Samsung isn’t afraid to challenge the big dog in the room. After all, if Samsung wasn’t such a strong competitor, Apple might not even take notice.

Hajj 2025: How Much Do You Need to Save?

Source: Asian Mall

The cost for Muslims’ Hajj, a religious obligation of great importance, continues to rise. In 2025, it is anticipated that the official Hajj package will be around Rs10,75,000 to Rs11,75,000. This has caused concern among potential pilgrims in Pakistan since the price is increasing each year.

Pakistan’s Hajj Quota for 2025

For 2025’s Hajj quota in Pakistan, approximately 179,000 Pakistani citizens will be able to perform Hajj. The government has divided quotas between the public and private sectors, assigning 89,605 places to each. The idea behind this is to allow many citizens the chance to partake via government or private packages.

Special quotas have been set aside for certain groups: 1,000 places are intended for the labour sector and 300 for low-income workers enrolled with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), with an aim to make the pilgrimage accessible for those with limited means.

Duration and Restrictions

The duration of the pilgrimage varies according to the Hajj Policy 2025 and can be either a long Hajj lasting 38 to 42 days or a shorter one ranging from 20 to 25 days. This flexibility helps pilgrims tailor their pilgrimage timeframe according to their personal and professional responsibilities. On the downside, the policy disallows children below 12 from joining.

The Road to Makkah initiative will ease travel procedures for pilgrims at major airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi by simplifying immigration procedures and paperwork before leaving for Hajj.

Women Traveling Without Mehram

Women’s Independent Pilgrimage The new policy notably permits women to undertake the Hajj without a mehram (a male protector) adhering to conditions outlined by the Islamic Ideological Council. This change grants greater autonomy to female pilgrims.

Who Will Step Up In Abrar Ahmed’s Absence?

The Pakistan camp has hit a setback with Abrar Ahmed ruling out of the second Test due to sickness. The veteran left-arm spinner Nauman Ali is expected to step up in his place.

Nauman has proven to be a consistent performer, taking 47 wickets in 15 Tests at an average of 33.53. His experience could be crucial on what’s likely to be a spin-friendly track in Multan.

Former Pacer Blasts PCB Over Poor Pitches And Team’s Performance

abdul-rauf-blasts-pcb-over-poor-pitches

Former Pakistan pacer Abdul Rauf has openly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressing his disappointment with the quality of pitches and the national team’s underwhelming performances. His concerns echo the sentiments of many cricket fans and experts, especially in the wake of Pakistan’s crushing defeat against England in Multan.

Multan’s Pitch Under Fire

The pitch in Multan has been a major point of contention since the first ball of the Test match. Critics and former players have been vocal about the PCB’s decision to prepare a flat, lifeless track that did little to assist the bowlers.

Read More: PCB Dismisses Rumors Of Champions Trophy Final Relocation

While such surfaces can sometimes lead to high-scoring games, they often tilt the balance too far in favor of the batters, depriving the match of its competitive edge.

england-legends-multan-pitch-after-pakistan-pile-runs

Pakistan managed to post an impressive 556 runs in their first innings, but England came back with an even bigger total—823/7 (declared).

The pitch’s batting-friendly nature was evident. But the real disappointment came in Pakistan’s second innings when the home side crumbled for just 220 runs, suffering a heavy defeat by an innings and 47 runs.

Abdul Rauf’s Frustration

Abdul Rauf, like many others, was furious. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he didn’t mince words as he questioned the PCB’s decisions regarding the pitch and the team’s strategy. His primary frustration revolved around why Pakistan had hired an Australian head coach and a foreign pitch curator if the results were going to remain the same.

Read More: Aleem Dar Likely to Join PCB’s Revamped Selection Committee

“If you’re going to continue playing such poor cricket out of fear and a fear of losing, then why did you hire Gillespie as the coach and bring him from Australia?” Rauf questioned. “And if you’re going to prepare such third-class pitches, then why are you wasting millions on Tony Hemming? Pakistani curators are already experts at making such road-like pitches.”

abdul-rauf-blasts-pcb-over-poor-pitches

It’s clear Rauf is baffled by the inconsistency between hiring top-level foreign expertise and delivering lackluster results on the field.

Tough Start For Head Coach

Jason Gillespie’s time as Pakistan’s red-ball head coach has gotten off to a rocky start. Pakistan was whitewashed 2-0 by Bangladesh, and the humiliating defeat to England in Multan, meaning Gillespie has lost his first three matches as head coach.

Shan Masood, who was appointed as Pakistan’s Test captain last year, has now lost his first six matches in charge. With such poor results, many are beginning to question whether the recent changes in the team’s management are actually making a difference or merely adding to the problems.

Aleem Dar Likely to Join PCB’s Revamped Selection Committee

aleem-dar-likely-to-join-pcb-selection-committee

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is once again shaking things up, introducing a major overhaul of the national selection committee. This marks the second revamp of the year, but what’s catching everyone’s attention is the inclusion of a surprising name—former ICC elite umpire Aleem Dar.

Yep, you read that right. Dar, known for his stellar umpiring career, is about to take on a whole new role, and it looks like he’s going to be a big part of the new setup.

The New Faces

While the official announcement hasn’t dropped yet, sources are pretty confident the decision is all but locked in. The new committee will feature a mix of familiar faces and fresh perspectives, all with the goal of improving team selection and long-term planning.

pcb-to-appoint-azhar-ali-aqib-javed-mushtaq-ahmed-azhar-ali-likely-to-be-given-a-key-position-in-pcb

So, who’s in? Well, former cricketers Aqib Javed and ex-captain Azhar Ali are expected to join. Both bring a ton of experience to the table, and their presence is sure to add fresh ideas into Pakistan’s selection process. Asad Shafiq, a solid right-handed batter, will stick around to provide some continuity on the panel. It’s a pretty well-rounded group.

Surprising Inclusion

But let’s talk about Aleem Dar for a second. His inclusion is probably the most intriguing part of this overhaul. Known globally for his umpiring expertise, Dar’s transition to the administrative side of things signals the PCB’s desire for a more well-rounded, holistic approach to selection. He’s got the sharp cricketing brain for it, no doubt about that.

And then there’s Hasan Cheema, a well-known data analyst, who’s expected to add a more analytical approach to the selection process. With Aqib Javed overseeing key committee matters and Azhar Ali taking on the crucial role of youth development, the future of Pakistan cricket might just be getting the shake-up it needs.

aaqib-javed-blasts-pcb-over-head-coach-selection

As of now, the existing selection committee includes captain, head coach, Asad Shafiq, and five non-voting members. However, with these upcoming changes, it’s still unclear exactly how these current members will fit into the new structure.

This big revamp comes hot on the heels of Mohammad Yousuf stepping down from his position, amid rumors of a clash with red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie. Now, as the PCB looks to refresh the committee once again, everyone’s waiting to see how this new setup will work out in the coming week.

Your Guide To Understanding Breast Cancer Progression

After someone has been diagnosed with breast cancer, doctors figure out how far it has spread. This process is called progression. These stages describe how much cancer is in the body. Which further helps determine the intensity and treatment required.

Breast cancer progresses in stages, starting from stage 0 (earliest) to stage IV (most advanced). Stage 0, also called carcinoma in situ, means the cancer is confined to where it started. As the stage numbers increase, it indicates the cancer has spread more.

Stage I is an early stage with minimal spread, while stage IV means the cancer has spread to distant organs like the lungs or liver. Each stage gives doctors important information about how far the cancer has advanced. This helps them decide the best treatment options.

Understanding Breast Cancer Progression

Doctors use the TNM system to determine breast cancer stages. This system looks at three main factors: tumor size (T), whether the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes (N), and if it has reached other parts of the body (M for metastasis).

Other Important Factors Besides Progression

In addition to TNM, doctors also consider other important details too. Examples of those are whether the cancer cells have hormone receptors (ER and PR) and if they have too much of a protein called HER2. The grade of the cancer cells also matters; This shows how much the cancer cells look like normal cells. Together, these factors help doctors decide the overall stage. And within a stage, an earlier letter means a lower stage. Although each person’s cancer experience is unique, cancers with similar stages tend to have a similar outlook and are often treated in much the same way.

The cancer’s stage, based on tumor size, lymph node involvement, and whether it has spread, guides the treatment plan. Additional factors like hormone receptor status and HER2 levels also play a key role. While each case is unique, knowing your stage helps both you and your doctor make informed decisions about your care.

Understanding these progressions helps you determine how to go about your treatment. It’s essential to tackle this as soon as it is discovered to make it an easier process.

There are lots of speculations spinning around, so let’s get down to what this compact yet potent device has in store.

Upgraded Display Quality

A major change to look forward to in the iPad mini 7 is its superior display. While the display will continue to be constrained to 60Hz and employ LCD technology, Apple has supposedly reformulated the screen assembly to minimize this irritating glitch. Though an OLED display might still be distant for the iPad mini series, these modifications signal progress towards improved usage.

Tips To Buying Your First Classic Car

Source: Town Cruise

Classic cars can be equally appealing for their aesthetic past, engineering brilliance, and promising investment value. However, buying such a classic vehicle demands careful thought. This guide simplifies the process— from understanding what qualifies a car as ‘classic’, gauging maintenance requirements to analyzing market trends.

What Makes a Car ‘Classic’?

The term ‘classic car’ can often be ambiguous. Still, these are typically vehicles that, despite their age, have managed to maintain charm and appeal. The scarcity, design, or performance capabilities have led some 1980s and 1990s cars to gain classic status. Precious cars—like the BMW E30 M3 or the Lancia Delta Integrale—have attained this position due to their distinct lineage though they are relatively newer compared to a classic from the 1960s like Jaguar E-Type. The definition of a ‘classic’ isn’t absolute as it’s influenced by factors like rarity and cultural impact.

25 Best Classic Cars To Drive - Top Vintage Cars of All Time
Source: Town Cruise

Reasons to Buy a Classic Car

People purchase classic cars driven by passion or investment considerations. Connoisseurs relish the idea of hands-on engagement, spending time fine-tuning the engine or refurbishing the car. Alternatively, it could be about financial gain in terms of value increment in the long run.

Owning a classic car brings satisfaction but it’s also likely to pose financial challenges. Routine maintenance is critical even for vehicles that are parked most of the time. Prior to buying, one must consider whether they’re ready for recurring costs like regular services and storage bills.

Understanding the Classic Car Market

The market for classic cars varies but well-preserved rare vehicles always have takers. Despite market stability compared to previous years, specific models continue to appreciate in value. Luxury classics like Ferraris or Aston Martins are often excellent investments, although their prices might be beyond the reach of average customers.

Things You Should Note

  1. Upkeep Costs: Old cars demand notable care. From scheduled upkeep to replacing hard-to-find parts. Having a repair fund is crucial when using experts. Costs can tally up fast.
  2. Storage: Antique autos decay quicker outdoors. Without a garage, renting a storage space becomes necessary, adding to total costs.
  3. Heritage: An old car’s past is key. A car with proven service records and genuine parts is more valuable and dependable. Always ask for upkeep records when buying and check the genuineness of modifications.
  4. Availability of Parts: Even small fixes might be stopped by lack of parts. It can be tough to find parts for certain vintage autos, especially those from lesser-known makers. Research part availability before buying.

Procuring an Antique Auto

Dealerships, private sellers, or auctions all sell antique cars. Dealers boast better security but charge more. Auctions allow for cheaper buys, but acquiring “as is” subjects you to risk. Get a pre-purchase check from an antique auto specialist to evade pricey mishaps.

Purchasing vintage vehicles can be immensely fulfilling, but balancing the attractive allure with tangible realities is necessary. Whether for leisurely weekend drives or viewing your car as an asset, knowing the market, repair costs, and the vehicle’s past helps ensure a wise acquisition.

Punjab Launches Historic Mass Wedding Program For 3,000 Women

wedding

Punjab has recently announced a MEGA cash program for underprivileged women seeking marriage. The mass wedding program offers $350 in cash for miscellaneous wedding costs, clothes, furniture, and dinner sets. These items are often expected from a girl to bring with her. Marriages are one of the most costly expenses when it comes to having a child in Pakistan, especially a daughter; with whom you have to send furniture and whatnot.

Punjab’s Mass Wedding Fund

Given the crisis was resulting in bankruptcy, these fancy dinners and clothes were draining a lifetime of savings, so Punjab announced its program. The government of eastern Pakistan approved its largest mass marriage program for up to 3,000 low-income women. This has been reported by the state broadcaster this week.

In the religious context, marriages are supposed to be within income budget, and not too extravagant. Regardless, due to a social-media enthusiast world, marriages have become an extravagant affair in everyone’s lives. Putting an insane amount of financial burden on families that come from lower-income backgrounds.

The traditions often include hosting a large group of people for dinner, luxury bridal clothes, and heavy jewelry. Moreover, the family of the girl is also expected to pay for expensive gifts for the groom’s family, furniture for the bride’s new room, and more. As per local customs, the bride’s male relatives are also often expected to pay a dowry to the groom’s family.

The Program

“The Punjab Cabinet has approved the province’s largest historical mass marriage program,” Radio Pakistan said on Tuesday. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also directed authorities to plan the expansion of this program. Yet, no details have been announced further.

Though the program offers incredible financial relief, it seems unusual to spend an extensive amount on marriages while the country suffers from high rates of illiteracy.

England’s Batting Masterclass

Pakistan’s bowlers faced a long, grueling day as England’s batters, led by a few stellar performances, unleashed a batting clinic. England declared their innings after putting up 823-7, a massive lead of 267 runs.

Captain Ollie Pope decided to call it a day when Chris Woakes (17*) and Brydon Carse (9*) were at the crease. Starting the fourth day with intent, England added 166 runs in the first session without losing a wicket.

Azhar Ali, the former Pakistan captain, might soon be stepping into a role similar to that of India’s Rahul Dravid, who famously groomed young Indian talent before becoming the senior team’s head coach. If things fall into place, Azhar will likely work at the junior level, focusing on youth development.

Let’s talk about Aqib Javed, the man is no stranger to nurturing talent. From his time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), he’s had a hand in the development of stars like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan.

Rumor has it, Aqib will be taking on a crucial role within the PCB, continuing his knack for spotting and developing talent, something we’ve seen him do so well in the PSL with the Lahore Qalandars.

And, of course, there’s Mushtaq Ahmed, the spin maestro. His expertise in spin bowling is second to none, and it looks like he’ll be playing a significant role in shaping Pakistan’s next generation of spinners. As the PCB looks to overhaul their academy system, Mushtaq’s knowledge will be vital in building a strong spinning arsenal for the future.

Final Words

Pakistan cricket has always had immense talent, but with these cricketing minds working behind the scenes, we could see a new era of planning, preparation, and polish.

Whether it’s helping young players develop, refining bowling techniques, or strengthening the overall cricketing structure, these appointments could be the spark Pakistan cricket needs to take its game to the next level.
