Bollywood’s Richa Chadda, while commenting about Fawad’s role in the movie said, “I really like Fawad. Every girl in India likes him,” “You see, real men are a dying breed. Whoever is a gentleman and talks respectfully instantly gets more brownie points”, she added.

Oil Prices Rise In Pakistan

Oil prices resumed their rise in Asia on Tuesday, staying above $41 a barrel, as OPEC raised hopes of a moderate rebound and announced a meeting of key producers in April.

At around 0600 GMT US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in May, a new contract rose 20 cents to $41.72. Brent for May was 17 cents higher at $41.71.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries secretary-general Abdalla El-Badri said in Vienna on Monday that 15-16 nations would hold talks on output caps in Doha on April 17, but he did not know whether Iran would join, Bloomberg News reported.

El-Badri also said he hopes that prices have “bottomed”, adding that he expects crude to see a “moderate” bounce rather than reach high levels.

The meeting will follow last month’s talks between Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela at which they proposed an accord to freeze oil output at January levels.

But Sydney-based CMC Markets analyst Michael McCarthy said traders do not expect much from the Qatar meeting.

“I would be surprised if many people in the oil market are holding out much hope for this meeting,” he told AFP.

“The levels of trust required to get so many different nations and companies to curtail their production, I don’t think is there. While it may add to the firm tone of the market, I don’t think it is a key driver.”

Iran has said it would not join the effort until its own crude production reaches pre-sanctions levels of 4.0 million barrels per day, about double its current output.

WTI rose last week above $40 for the first time since December, boosted by a sharp drop in the dollar which generally makes crude less expensive. Renewed optimism that producers would strike a deal to freeze output also buoyed prices.

2 Cars Spotted Floating on Clifton Beach Karachi

The officials of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) spotted two white cars, floating on the Clifton beach. The rescue team was then called to help pull the cars out from the sea. It was later found out that there was no passenger or driver in the car.

It still remains unclear how the cars were fully submerged into the water.

The rescue officials stated that it is possible that the cars sunk during the night time; however further assessment and investigation is still underway.

World T20 2016: England Bowlers Hoping For Relief Against Afghanistan & Sri Lanka

Spinner Moeen Ali admitted England’s bowlers are hoping for some respite Monday as they lick their wounds after being pummelled by South Africa and a rampant Chris Gayle in cricket‘s World Twenty20.

Although England is on a high after their record-breaking win over South Africa on Friday, their bowlers were once again clattered to all corners at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium as the Proteas raced to a huge total of 229.

Reece Topley went for 33 in just two overs while Chris Jordan conceded 49 in a three-over stint against the South Africans whose own star bowler, Dale Steyn, was subsequently carted around the ground.

Ali was the most economic bowler against South Africa but still went for nearly nine an over and was one of those on the receiving end last Wednesday when Chris Gayle smashed 11 sixes in a brutal century.

“I have not enjoyed bowling in Mumbai so far,” said Ali after England arrived in New Delhi where they will play their next two group matches against Afghanistan on Wednesday and the holders Sri Lanka on Saturday.

“I think the (Delhi) wicket is going to be a little bit slower though I haven’t seen it so I don’t expect the runs to be coming as quick as Mumbai.”

Ali said he and his fellow spinner Adil Rashid had felt they “would love to be bowling” on other pitches which have turned sharply in the tournament, such as Nagpur where India lost to New Zealand.

But he conceded it has been tough for England’s quicker bowlers as well.

“I don’t think it has been very easy for the seamers. The grounds have been a little bit smaller and the pitches have been beautiful to bat on,” he said. “Hopefully, the bowlers are going to win us a game in the future.”

Despite their victory over South Africa, England not only needs to win their last two matches but must up their run-rate after losing to the West Indies.

England’s batsmen were generally in awesome form against South Africa but Ali, who has opened for the team but now bats at seven, has missed out in both matches and warned against complacency towards Afghanistan.

“They are a very good side. We saw yesterday they competed very well,” he added in reference to Afghanistan’s match against South Africa on Sunday when the minnows at one stage threatened an upset by reaching 105 for two while chasing 210.

“We are not going to take them lightly… It’s a tough game but hopefully we can win in the game.”

The iPhone SE is the highest probability candidate for Apple’s March 2016 Special Event, if the reports by tech sites like 9to5mac and Apple Insider prove correct.

Rather than a completely new phone, the SE’s said to be more of a “greatest hits” edition, packing many iPhone 6s features into the smaller iPhone 5s casing.

It’s also expected to retail at a more affordable price than the rest of Apple’s handsets, increasing accessibility in global economic terms.

Other likely reveals include a new iPad, given that the tablet’s standard form factor hasn’t been revised since 2014, as well as extra software and straps for the market-leading Apple Watch, and the release of iOS 9.3 for phones and tablets.

Zootopia Movie Still No.1 at Global Box Office

Aamir Liaquat Receives Life Threatening Letter

Aamir Liaquat has yet again made waves in the Pakistani media. The widely known television anchor and president of Geo TV Network voiced his concerns for personal safety on social media after Interior Ministry shared Liaquat’s name on the TTP’s hit list.

The Interior Ministry has called for top notch security details to be provided to the celebrated religious anchor.

Liaquat also openly mentioned the JUI Senator Hamd Ullah’s name as the one responsible if the threats to kill him are carried out and appealed to the Government to arrest this person of interest right away.

He tweeted about this new development on Twitter. He claimed that the government had not contacted to take him on board with the security protocol. They are liars. He also proceeded to tweet that he wasn’t afraid of the threats and he solely trusted Allah and the Prophet (P.B.U.H) in this matter.

He also said that he won’t beg the Nawaz regime to do the needful in this case. He also called TTP ‘Dogs of Hell’ and implored that everyone play their role in continuing the fight against religious extremism prevalent here after him.

He also hinted that the fans are going berserk and are angry at the government for not taking the necessary measures.

Hilarious Shafqat Amanat Ali Memes Emerge After National Anthem Debacle

Veteran Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali has faced backlash for messing up the national anthem at the Eden Gardens Cricket Stadium in Kolkata on March 19, 2016. The singer was given the honor to sing national anthem live in front of thousands of people ahead of the historic clash between Pakistan and India.

Ali, who is also known as an ‘Ustad’, not only lacked zeal and fervor but also did two lyrical errors in the last stanza of the national anthem. He sang “Parcham o sitara o hilal” instead of “Parcham e sitara o hilal” and mingled the third last line of the anthem with the third line, “Tu nishane azam e aali shan”.

Soon after the defeat of the Pakistani cricket team, fans from all over the world not only expressed their disappointment and resentment over the boys in green but also trolled Shafqat Amanat Ali for getting the national anthem wrong on such a prestigious international forum.

Angry Tweets and Facebook statuses flooded through social media leaving no option for the singer except to render an apology.

Citing public’s displeasure and criticism, the singer turned to social media to issue an apology. He, although did not accept his mistake, but apologized for not being able to win praises. The singer quoted his mistake as “audio and technical glitches” and said they were misinterpreted as lyrical errors.

“I admit that there were a few audio and technical glitches that may have sounded like lyrical errors and I will surely apologize for not being able to win your praises this time, but assure you I had by no means “forgotten” our beloved ‘Qaumi Tarana,” he tweeted. The singer also said he was deeply hurt by the little faith that fellow countrymen has showed in him.

His apology was met with a mixed response; while some appreciated him others criticized the singer for giving false excuses.

Street Child Games 2016: Pakistan Wins 10 Medals In The Tournament

Three young Pakistani athletes, Muhammad Naeem, Mehr Ali and Naseer Ahmed bagged gold, silver and bronze medals at the Street Child Games 2016 for the 100 and 400 m athletic race; the tournament was held in Rio de Jenerio, Brazil on Sunday.

As revealed by Azad Foundation, Muhammad Naeem secured a 2nd position in the athletic sprint while Mehr Ali bagged a gold medal in the long jump event.

Meanwhile, Naseer Ahmed missed out on a gold medal in the 100m hurdles event. Instead, he bagged a silver medal while Mehr Ali finished 3rd with a bronze medal.

According to the reports, Pakistan has won 10 medals in the Street Child Games 2016 tournament uptil now, including  the three gold, four silver and three bronze medals in four events.

Mobile Services Suspended In Islamabad/Rawalpindi For Pakistan Day Parade

Mobile phone and wireless Internet services including EVO and WiMAX were halted early morning today in Islamabad and Rawalpindi as a full dress rehearsal for Pakistan Day parade was underway.

According to the reports, mobile phone services are likely to remain closed till 3:00 PM (afternoon) until the Pakistan Day parade rehearsals are being carried out, Islamabad police authorities have devised a special traffic plan for daily travelers to avoid any traffice disruption for the general public.

Apple 5S and 5C Models To Be Replaced With Small-Screen iPhone

New iPhone and iPad models likely to be unveiled Monday are aimed at helping Apple keep momentum in the fast-evolving mobile device market. Apple is widely expected to release a small-screen iPhone to encourage replacement of the 5S and 5C models, which have four-inch displays. The new device is to be called the iPhone SE or 5SE, reports said.

The media gathering at the company’s intimate Town Hall auditorium in Silicon Valley will also give Apple a chance to restate its case for fighting a US government demand that it break into an attacker’s iPhone.

This would help Apple in a traditionally slow season before the likely upgrades to the large-screen iPhone 6 family later this year.

But in keeping with its practice, Apple has been tight-lipped about what it will reveal.

A message on copies of the invitations posted online simply states “Let us loop you in,” prompting some to speculate that new bands for the Apple Watch would be among the announcements.

A four-inch screen iPhone which boasts improvements under the hood could help spur replacements.

Such an iPhone would be “an incremental positive” for Apple, ensuring that lovers of the company’s smaller smartphones don’t switch to rival devices powered by Android software, RBC Capital Markets said in a note to investors.

Virtual Reality Girds For Test In Marketplace

RBC projected that sales of a new handset would tally between 10 million to 15 million annually, giving Apple fans an option for upgrading before an iPhone 7 debuts late in the year.

The new iPhone will likely be priced to shore up the low-end of Apple’s line but not to compete in the budget-priced smartphone market, according to analysts.

“I am not expecting a ton of surprises,” Creative Strategies analyst Ben Bajarin said of what Apple has in store for Monday.

“The biggest news will be pricing for the newer iPhone.”

Reaching buyers in India?

If Apple lowers the price for the new device — existing big-screen iPhones start at around $650 — it may be able to expand to new segments of consumers.

“I suspect this is far more about boosting off-season sales than it is about introducing a new iPhone at a dramatically lower price point, for example, for emerging markets,” said Jan Dawson of Jackdaw Research in a blog post.

But Dawson said the new handset could be priced as low as $450 without subsidy to help Apple make inroads in new markets.

This would enable Apple to sell refurbished iPhones at $250 to $350, according to Dawson and “suddenly allows the iPhone to hit price points it’s never been able to hit before, which in turn could make it more viable in markets like India.”

Reports have also said Apple is poised to introduce a new iPad tailored for use by businesses.

Talking encryption

The media event takes place a day before a federal judge in Southern California hears arguments in the encryption case.

“I do expect to hear a little bit from them because it is so central, not just to Apple,” Current Analysis research director Avi Greengart told AFP.

“Encryption is pretty much the entire digital economy. There is an argument to be made that Apple is out in front and taking the heat for a crucial, industry-wide issue.”

The new iPad may have a keyboard, and Apple Pencil stylus features that make it more attractive for getting work done. Apple has been trying to ignite sales of its tablets, which declined in the final quarter or last year.

Focusing exclusively on Apple hardware can be deceiving since the company has won legions of devotees by weaving software, applications, and devices together to provide people with experiences they enjoy, according to analysts.

“What you are really paying for is software and user experience,” Greengart said of buying into Apple’s world.

“That has been Apple’s business model for many years.”

Apple has built privacy protection into its ecosystem and its valuable brand.

Apple has repeatedly argued that the FBI was overstepping legal bounds by using the 1789 All Writs Act — a broad law which allows the courts to help law enforcement — to compel the company to help break an iPhone used by one of the shooters in the December attack in San Bernardino, California.

Apple, which is backed by a broad coalition of powerful rival technology firms and activists, argues that the FBI is seeking a “back door” into all iPhones as part of the probe.

The government brief, in sharp contrast, argued it is a single case of technical assistance in an important national security investigation.

The much-awaited and highly anticipated Pakistani flick Mahe-e-Mir, starring Fahad Mustafa is slated to release on May 6th, 2016.

The official trailer is to come out on March 23rd, 2016. The movie was initially set to release on November 6th but got delayed until February; however, a new date for the movie release has recently been announced.

Pakistan Legend Jahangir Expects British Open Breakthrough

A new era could emerge at this year’s British Open, predicts legendary Pakistan squash player Jahangir Khan, who won the world’s oldest tournament a record ten times.

Jahangir believes the new wave of players could break through at the tournament in the Airco Arena starting Monday.

“There were a lot of upsets in the World Open last year (in November) and we weren’t expecting them,” said 52-year-old Jahangir.

“I think a new era is quite near. There could be a lot of upsets at the British Open too.”

Jahangir identified three Egyptians as possible challengers — Ali Farag, a 23-year-old Harvard graduate, Karim Gawad, 24, and Omar Mosaad, a steadily improving 28-year-old.

Farag beat three top ten players on the way to the Detroit title in January, Gawad rose to a career-high world number seven after capturing the Swedish Open the following month, and Mosaad is at world number four after reaching the World Open final.

“They are good talents coming up,” Jahangir said. “They all know what the guys at the top of the rankings have to struggle with. And they are younger than the others and hungrier.”

A spectacular exception to this is Gregory Gaultier, the Frenchman who has become world champion for the first time at the age of 32, belatedly achieving what many thought was past him.

Gaultier expects to return to competition next week after nine weeks out with a ruptured ankle, as he bids for a third British Open title.

Whether Gaultier achieves this may depend on how well he understands his body and mind after such an absence, and perhaps also on how well Mohamed El Shorbagy, his conqueror in five games in last year’s final, handles the pressure of a title defence.

“El Shorbagy’s still quite young even though he’s been around for a few years so he may have more hunger than the others as well,” Jahangir said of the 25-year-old Egyptian.

Successfully defending the Tournament of Champions title in New York in January should have aided El Shorbagy’s self-belief, though he needed another five games in a hard final with Nick Matthew. This may quieten those who claim the Englishman is too old to win a fourth British Open at 35.

If Matthew does this he will have achieved a notable record. He is 18 months older than the Australian Geoff Hunt when he became the oldest British Open champion of the professional era in 1981.

Another attempting to return from injury is Ramy Ashour, perhaps the sport’s most popular player and its most talented.

Three years ago he became the first Egyptian in almost 50 years to win, but he has been unable to compete for four months because of a chronically troublesome hamstring.

That is only one in a catalog of ailments which have threatened Ashour’s stop-start career, but if he is fit enough he is more than good enough to win again.

David eyes sixth title

Meanwhile, Malaysian Nicol David, 32, is seeded number two as she bids to capture the title for a sixth time.

Although David lasted a record 103 months as world number one she only captured one title last year, and now Laura Massaro, a fellow 32-year-old from England is the top seed.

These two could face significant challenges from at least three other players –- Camille Serme, the titleholder from France, Raneem El Welily, the Egyptian who succeeded David as number one last year, and her compatriot Nour El Sherbini, a 20-year-old who has beaten both David and Massaro this year.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” sees two iconic superheroes do battle on the big screen but a female character — Wonder Woman — is the real role model for youngsters, star Gal Gadot said Friday.

The 30-year-old former Miss Israel said ahead of the March 25 US release of the hotly anticipated blockbuster that she had never planned to be an actress and felt grateful to be telling her character’s “amazing story.”

“I have a four-year-old daughter and she adores princesses. At the same time she would tell me ‘the princess, she’s so weak.’ She falls asleep, the prince will come and save her and kiss her and he’s the hero,” Gadot told reporters in Los Angeles.

“So I am so happy I’m going to be the one who’s going to tell the Wonder Woman story. It’s such an important story… But I also think it’s so important for girls — and boys — to have a female, strong superhero to look up to.”

Starring Ben Affleck as Gotham’s Dark Knight and Henry Cavill as the Caped Crusader, the characters’ first big screen pairing sets up the coming “Justice League” and “Wonder Woman” movies.

Fearing the actions of a god-like superhero left unchecked, Gotham’s formidable vigilante takes on Metropolis’s revered savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.

And with Batman and Superman at war with each other, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it has ever known.

Psychological enemy

Warner Bros opened its Los Angeles studios to the world’s media Friday, showcasing its stellar cast, which also features Jesse Eisenberg as the eccentric villain Lex Luthor and Amy Adams as Superman’s love interest Lois Lane.

It is Cavill’s second go as Superman, three years after “Man of Steel” saw him pitted against the planet Krypton’s villainous military commander, General Zod.

“It’s a tough outing for him, because it’s against a psychological enemy as opposed to a physical enemy, like Zod was,” the 32-year-old said of the new film.

“We see him make mistakes, and we see him grow from those mistakes and learn from them.”

Affleck, 43, who has already directed critical and commercial hits “The Town” and “Argo,” revealed he had felt “emboldened” watching director Zack Snyder work and would consider making a big-budget superhero movie in the future.

“I’ve wondered about directing movies like this before and it was a really valuable learning experience for me to watch Zack do it and see how he did it,” he said.

“For me as a director it’s about the material and the characters, so if I found the right material I would definitely throw my hat in the ring to direct something on that scale.”

Affleck, a fan of graphic novels, recalled buying Frank Miller’s 1986 Batman miniseries “The Dark Knight Returns” in his home town of Boston.

“That was the first comic that really took my appreciation of this genre to another level. It was right when people were innovating in that way. ‘Watchmen’ came out around the same time,” he said.

“Newer, more adult, sophisticated, complicated ways of looking at this world started to be developed within the comic genre.”

“It took the movie business 20 years to catch up, to be really willing to mine these stories and this genre for complicated, interesting and resonant stories — but it has now.”

The actors were asked how they deal with the kind of intense fans who tend to come with starring roles in comic book conversions, and their sometimes unrealistic expectation levels.

“It’s certainly strange and unnerving to be criticized for a part you haven’t yet been able to screw up,” joked Eisenberg.

Adams recalled the embarrassment of a scene in which Lois was required to hold a conversation with Superman, her naked in a bath tub and he fully clothed, although in reality she was allowed some artfully hidden clothing.

“That was actually horrible, just trying to protect my modesty in unflattering garments while the demi-god stood above me. I had low self-esteem for two weeks after that. It’s true — I really was like, ‘I’m hideous,'” she said.
