Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan Send Legal Notices Over Ex-Fued

Kangana-Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan have taken their Tiwtter battle to the court. What began as Kangana suggesting that Hrithik was her ex, has now led to Hrithik sending an authorized notice to Kangana.

Hrithik was cautious that Kangana would wind up taking his name as her ex in a discussion and for that reason sent a legal notice through Deepesh Mehta, his lawyer, accusing her of denigration.

According to a source “In that notice, Hrithik told her that she should call for a press conference and render an apology to him, spelling out that she had not hinted at Hrithik Roshan as her ‘silly ex’. Else he would make all her correspondence with him, public.”

Kangana-Ranaut

Responding to this, Kangana then sent to Hrithik a legal notice through Rizwan Siddiqui, her lawyer, in which she accused him of bullying. As Kangana has never named Hrithik on any platform, she declares that this can not be termed as denigration. A source very reliable and close to Kangana confirmed this news.

It all started Kangana was asked repeatedly if it was because of Hrithik that she wasn’t a part of Ashiqui 3, she stated, “Yes, many lame rumors are doing the rounds, even a dumbass can tell where these rumors are coming from. I don’t know why exes do silly things to get your attention. For me, that chapter is over and I don’t dig graves.”

After her statment, Hrithik took to twitter to tweet this:

After which Kangana retorted by posting, “I respect the other person’s opinion. It’s very likely that a person can have a different perspective of the same situation or rather the past. But then, stick to your stand. Don’t contradict yourself and slyly pursue people, spy on them and chase them. So, we sign and seal the deal, and then move on.”

Let us wait and see what the future holds for Hrithik and Kangana.

World T20 2016: Dhoni Blames Batsmen For Stunning New Zealand Loss

ms-dhoni

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni blamed his batsmen for their shock 47-run loss to New Zealand in the opening World Twenty20 group match in Nagpur on Tuesday.

India’s batsmen folded at the hands of New Zealand’s spinners, recording just 79 runs in 18.1 overs — their lowest ever T20 score on home soil — as they tried to chase down the Kiwis’ modest total of 126. India’s previous lowest total at home was 92 against South Africa in Cuttack last year.

“I thought we restricted them to a good total (but) the batting let us down, the shot selection kept putting pressure on the batsmen coming in and there was no partnership in the middle,” said Dhoni.

Hosts India, fresh from winning the Asia Cup, had been firm favourites to become the first team ever to win the World T20 title for a second time, as they began their quest Tuesday in the Super 10 stage of the tournament.

But New Zealand’s slow bowlers stunned the raucous home crowd in Nagpur, with left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner leading the show with a four-wicket haul in a miserly spell.

“They bowled well, exploited the conditions, but we lacked adaptability, we could have applied ourselves a bit more,” Dhoni said.

Santner, whose figures of 4-11 were the best for a New Zealander in T20 cricket, was well supported by Indian-born leg-spinner Ish Sodhi and off-spinner Nathan McCullum, who shared five wickets between them on a slow track.

A delighted New Zealand captain Kane Williamson paid tribute to his bowlers, after conceding that their total was lower than what they had been hoping for.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh World T20 2016 Match Highlights & Updates

“But the way the boys bowled was simply outstanding. They get a win to start off a competition against such a tough side like India,” he said.

New Zealand have now won five of their six T20 internationals against India, while the other match was rained off.

India were never in the chase after losing their openers early and, with the exception of Virat Kohli (23), none of the Indian top order could come up with any answers to the inspired Kiwi attack.

Kohli offered some resistance on a slow track during his 27-ball stay, but the introduction of Sodhi brought the end for the star batsman.

Chasing a widish leg-spinner, Kohli was caught behind as the packed stadium was stunned into silence with the writing clearly on the wall.

Dhoni then tried hard to dig India out of their hole but his valiant run-a-ball 30 made little difference in the end.

Earlier, hard-hitting Corey Anderson hit an uncharacteristically slow 34-run knock to help New Zealand improve their plight after being reduced to 61 for four.

A dramatic first over from off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin saw Martin Guptill smash a six from the very first ball of the match only to lose his wicket to the next, setting the tone for an exciting T20 extravaganza.

The spin-fast combination of Ashwin and Ashish Nehra deployed by Dhoni worked in India’s favour as the Kiwis were left stuttering with Williamson also departing for single figures.

Anderson, whose 42-ball stay included just three boundaries, then stuck around with Ross Taylor and Santner to counter the Indian bowlers.

India didn’t put a foot wrong and backed their bowlers’ effort with some clean fielding that included two run outs.

In the end, Luke Ronchi’s unbeaten 11-ball 21 gave some respectability to the total, which in the end proved enough to make an opening impression in the sixth edition of the tournament.

Pakistan face Bangladesh at Kolkata while England meet West Indies at Mumbai in the two group matches on Wednesday.

5th Indiana Jones Movie to Star Harrison Ford

Franchise mainstays Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will once again reprise their respective roles behind and in front of camera in a fifth “Indiana Jones” film set for July 2019.

Lucasfilm owner Disney made the announcement on March 15, 2016, setting a release date of July 19, 2019 for the continuation of what will by then be a 35-year-old franchise.

Only four persons have had their direct involvement confirmed.

000_dv315533.8c019190238.w600

Steven Spielberg is to direct, while Harrison Ford is to “reprise his iconic role” as adventurous archaeologist Dr. Henry Walton Jones, Disney announced.

Film producer power couple and Speilberg’s Amblin Entertainment partners Kathleen Kennedy (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) and Frank Marshall (“Jurassic World”) are also on board.

Disney gave no further information regarding plot nor title on the fifth entry to a franchise that is close to grossing $2bn internationally.

As such, and with the attempted introduction of a successor in 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” there is still plenty of scope for months of speculation from fans and film industry buffs alike.

India’s Night of Humiliation As New Zealand Wins

World Twenty20 hosts India were accused of complacency Wednesday after the tournament’s red-hot favorites were brought down to earth in a stunning opening-match defeat to New Zealand.

After winning 10 of their last 11 matches, India were bowled out for just 79 — their lowest total on home turf — by an unheralded New Zealand team who had made a below-par score in Nagpur late on Tuesday.

All of India’s leading batsmen had been in fine form in the lead-up to the tournament but on a turning pitch, they were unable to cope with a trio of New Zealand bowlers, including the rookie Mitchell Santner.

The left-arm spinner, who has been playing international cricket for less than a year, took four for 11. Ish Sodhi, a 23-year-old leg break bowler who was born in northern India, took three for 18 in his four overs.

As a procession of batsmen trudged back to the pavilion, the stadium rapidly emptied before India were put out of their misery in the first ball of their penultimate over.

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who top-scored with 30, felt let down by his fellow batsmen who had been expected to comfortably chase down the Black Caps’ meagre total of 126.

“There were quite a few soft dismissals and there was no partnership at all,” said Dhoni in his post-match press conference. “The bowlers did a good job by restricting them to 126. I feel it was the batting department that could have done slightly better… It was a 140 wicket.”

The Times of India said Dhoni’s side had been guilty of complacency and that the dismissal of big-hitting opener Rohit Sharma, who was stumped well outside his crease for just five, pointed to a wider malaise.

“A target of 127 seemed too easy and there was a sense of complacency about the way India went about their chase,” said the newspaper. “Sharma, (who)… seemed to be out on an evening stroll, characterized India’s lack of application.”

The Hindustan Times said veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh’s refusal to walk until after he was clearly caught and bowled by Nathan McCullum was “the most embarrassing moment” on “a night of humiliation”.

The Indian Express said the result was more than a simple wake-up call but rather “like being dunked by cold water on a bone-chilling night”.

The result means New Zealand have now won all five of their completed T20s against India, and vindicated new captain Kane Williamson’s surprise decision to omit his main pace bowlers Trent Boult and Tim Southee.

Eden hazard

It also went a long way to prove there is life after Brendon McCullum following the inspirational Black Caps skipper’s retirement last month. New Zealand’s batsmen also struggled against India’s spinners and their top score was a streaky 34 by Corey Anderson.

But Santner said that the New Zealand bowlers had taken heart from seeing how much the ball had been turning. “We knew it was going to be a hard-fought game… We stuck to our plan and managed to get wickets at crucial times,” said Santner.

“Every time you beat India at home is a tough effort and we managed to do that today.” “It’s a bit of a confidence-booster and there are a lot of positives to take out of this game but a couple (of things) to work on as well,” he added.

The 47-run victory sets New Zealand up nicely for their next match on Friday night against their neighbors Australia in Dharamsala. India’s next match is on Saturday in Kolkata against Pakistan, who have struggled of late but have a good record at the Eden Gardens stadium.

Dhoni backed his team to bounce back swiftly against their arch-rivals. “What’s important is how to turn around and how to come back strong and I feel this team has done this plenty of times,” he said.

Sony PlayStation VR Gear: Price & Release Date Announced

sony-playstation

Sony plans to make the virtual reality — long the stuff of films cast off into a distant future — mainstream with the October release of PlayStation VR headgear priced at $399.

“Virtual reality represents a new frontier for gaming, one that will forever change the way users interact with games,” Sony Computer Entertainment chief executive Andrew House said during a press event in San Francisco on Tuesday.

Sony chose October for the launch of PlayStation VR to allow time for making enough units to meet anticipated demand and to let developers get games ready for the headsets, according to House.

The headsets are designed to plug into PlayStation 4 (PS4) consoles. Sony touted PS4 as its fastest-selling console ever with more than 36 million of them bought since they hit the market in late 2013.

Sony Playstation

But there is competition and Facebook-owned virtual reality start Oculus is set to begin shipping its Rift headsets later this month.

Oculus has been taking orders for Rift at a price of $599 and has worked with computer makers to certify machines as powerful enough to handle the technology.

Pre-orders have also been taken on bundles combining Rift with compatible gaming computers starting about $1,500. Buying a PS4 and PlayStation VR would add up to about half that price.

“We are proud of the price point we have been able to achieve,” House said ofPlayStation VR.

PlayStation VR users will still need to buy camera and controller accessories, pushing the price up slightly, but it is considerably less expensive than rival headsets that synch to gaming computers, according to Gartner analyst Brian Blau.

“The cost of ownership of PlayStation is going to be a lot more affordable than the PC (personal computer) counterparts,” Blau told AFP after attending the Sony event.

And, since millions of PS4 have already been bought, the price of adding virtual reality is comparably lower for owners of those consoles since no computer upgrade is needed.

Game makers dive in

More than 230 developers and publishers are working on games for PlayStationVR, with some 50 titles expected to be available by the end of this year, according to Sony.

Sony Playstation

The list included French video game titan Ubisoft, which is creating an “Eagle Flight” game that lets players virtually take wing, and a collaboration between Electronic Arts, DICE, and Lucasfilm on a new “Star Wars Battlefront” title forPlayStation VR.

PlayStation motion-sensing “Move” wand-shaped controllers were used to provide “hands” in some titles demonstrated at the event

Virtual reality was a hot topic at a Game Developers Conference (GDC) taking place a short distance from the Sony press briefing.

Chip makers showed off powerful processors designed to handle rendering rich, immersive graphics in virtual worlds. Games shown off at GDC included titles tailored for PlayStation VR and rivals Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Thirty-year-old GDC bills itself as the largest and longest-running event for professional game makers.

This year, GDC integrated an inaugural Virtual Reality Developers Conference focused on “making immersive virtual reality and augmented reality experiences.”

The virtual reality portion of GDC had to be moved to larger rooms to double the capacity in response to heavy demand, according to organizers.

In a sign that virtual reality is poised to extend beyond gaming, PlayStation VR boasted a Cinematic mode that can let people watch digital video on large virtual screens.

House promised more information on “entertainment content” in coming months.

“It makes sense that you should be able to see all kinds of PlayStation content inside the headset,” analyst Blau said.

“I think it will extend PlayStation into areas it has never been before.”

For example, Blau noted, PlayStation VR could expand to include sports viewing, streaming films or television shows, and even be put to work use by businesses.

At least 16 people were killed and more than two dozen wounded when a bomb blew up inside a bus in Peshawar, the main city of northwest Pakistan, officials said, with the toll expected to rise. The explosion took place in Saddar, a busy shopping district, as the bus was picking up government workers to take them to their offices.

“At least 16 people were killed and more than 24 were wounded in a blast on a government employees’ bus,” senior police official Mohammad Kashif Zulfiqar told AFP.

Another police official and hospital officials also confirmed the incident and casualties.

Bomb disposal officials said that it was a four kilogramme (8.8 pounds) Improvised Explosive Device (IED) fitted with a remote control detonator and planted near the bus’s gas cylinder, amplifying the blast.

West Indies vs England World T20 2016: ‘Gayle Storm’ Set To Hit England

Controversial batsman Chris Gayle will be looking to ensure the West Indies’ troubled build-up to the World Twenty20 becomes a distant memory when they open their campaign against England in Mumbai Wednesday.

The Windies are out to prove they are still a force in the shortest form of the game despite their declining Test status while England wants to atone for a humiliating early exit from last year’s 50-over World Cup.

A pay dispute cast doubt over the West Indies’ appearance in India and while the row was resolved at the 11th hour, relations between players and the country’scricket board remain tense.

Chris-gayle

Their preparations have also been hit by the withdrawal of all-rounder Kieron Pollard and off-spinner Sunil Narine, who is T20 cricket‘s top-performing bowler and has thrived in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But in the enigmatic Gayle they possess a batsman capable of destroying whatever bowling attack he faces and single-handedly winning any match, providing he stays clear of off-field controversy.

The Jamaican, nicknamed “Gayle Storm”, faced allegations of sexism after he asked an Australian TV presenter for a date live on air in January during the Big Bash League. He also lit up the tournament for the right reasons, hitting a 12-ball half-century.

West Indies skipper Darren Sammy said the 36-year-old was unfazed by all the attention and would be his usual “destructive” self on the pitch.

World T20 2016: India Vs New Zealand Match Highlights & Updates

“There always seems to be pressure for him to perform but Chris is just going to do what Chris has done throughout his T20 career,” said Sammy in an eve-of-match presser conference.

“There’s never too much pressure on Chris.”

Gayle, 36, holds the record for the highest ever score in T20s, 175 off 66 balls, and hit the format’s first international century during the inaugural World T20 in 2007.

But the second-ranked Windies, who are looking to add to their 2012 World T20 title, face a tough prospect at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in the shape of a new, attack-minded England side.

Eoin Morgan’s team have turned their fortunes around since they were dumped out of the 2015 World Cup by Bangladesh, adopting a more aggressive attitude which has seen them up their run rate.

In Morgan, all-rounder Ben Stokes, opener Jason Roy and classy right-hander Joe Root, England have strength in depth but they will miss injured fast bowler Steven Finn.

England had a disastrous 50 over World Cup campaign last year, knocked out in the group stages after losing to Bangladesh.

But Morgan said two victories in warm-ups had given the team a boost

“We’ve built a little bit of confidence and we are in a really good place mentally,” said the captain in his pre-match press conference.

Morgan said it was important to gain momentum early in the tournament but not absolutely vital to win the first match against a team that won the tournament in 2012.

“It’s not about getting out of the traps early and playing your best game first up,” he said.

“It’s about pacing along the way, picking up confidence and putting in performances when they really matter. The first game is a tough game, I do agree with that, but certainly it’s not the be all and end all.

“I think they (West Indies) have a number of dangerous players… (but) I think it’s important for us as a young, talented side to focus on what we do best and execute that. There are plans in place but ultimately it’s how we execute them.”

iPhone 5se & iPad Air 3 Expected At Apple Keynote, March 21

Tim Cook and Apple have summoned the press to another keynote on Monday, March 21, 2016. These Apple events see the American manufacturer unveil new products and innovations, with an entry-level iPhone and a new iPad expected at the upcoming edition.

A new 4-inch iPhone?

The main announcement at the March keynote is expected to be a new iPhone with the codename “se.” This is thought to be an entry-level handset, lined up to replace the iPhone 5s in Apple’s current smartphone range.

iPhone 5Se Rumored To Launch In March

The “se” model will reportedly be keeping the 4-inch screen, but could be in line for the latest-gen A9 processor from the iPhone 6s. It could also inherit the top-of-the-range handset’s 12-megapixel camera, 4k movie mode and “Live Photos” function, which makes moving images by capturing the moments just before and after a photo.

This new compact, powerful smartphone is expected to launch right away, at a price comparable to that of the current 5s. The launch would come at a time when Apple predicts that global iPhone sales could fall for the first time in the device’s history in Q1 2016.

An iPad Air 3?

Alongside this entry-level smartphone, Apple could be set to unveil a new-generation 9.7-inch iPad at the forthcoming event. The new iPad’s name remains unclear (iPad Air 3 or iPad Pro mini), but the device could come loaded with features exclusive to the iPad Pro, like its A9X processor and Apple Pencil stylus.

Apple iPhone 5se & iPad Air 3 Rumored To Go on Sale From 18th March

Just under a year after its release, the Apple Watch isn’t thought to be in line for an upgrade just yet. Still, Apple could unveil some new straps, before presenting an updated model in the autumn. Finally, this keynote could also have an iOS update in store.

In any case, the March 21 conference is expected to be a minor keynote compared to Apple’s autumn event, where the firm traditionally unveils its latest high-end products.

Based on the Sufi verse Tum Ek Gorakh Dhanda Ho by lyricist Naz Khialvi, the qawwali was sung by Nurat Fateh Ali Khan and went on to become one of his most popular works to date.

Nescafe Basement approached the qawwali in a very contemporary manner, adding a noticeable modern flavor to the track.

The song features Asfar Hussain and Zaryab Sultan on vocals, Bilawal Lahooti on drums, Sherry and Hasan on guitars, Haroon on acoustic guitar, Sharoon on violin and Arsalan on keyboards.

The highlights of this version are definitely Zain Ali’s alaap and Xulfi being featured himself on bass.

Ali Azmat Makes Fun of Salman Ahmad’s New Song ‘Kaise Bolun’

Salman Ahmad's new single

Salman Ahmad’s latest song ‘Kaise Bolun’ mortified fans to the core; with the lead singer jumping and dancing to a monotonous tone, unsynchronized lyrics, and highly energetic backup dancers, the song was a total train wreck.

The latest release did not only disappoint fans, it forced Ali Azmat, the ex- band member of Junoon to diss the singer in public, ruling out any chance of the band’s reunion.

It is no doubt ironic that the song, from his upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Rhythm’, reflects similar feelings as the title since one does not really know what to say after listening to the song.

‘Kaise Bolun’ showcases today’s ‘spiked’ Sufi Salman performing hilarious dance moves that are downright silly.

We all are aware of Salman and Ali’s rocky past; this time, however, Ali took to twitter and posted the following:

“There is no reunion on the cards I need some time to get over #soultosoul”

However, there were surely some fans who were totally devastated by the ‘no reunion’ news, reacting hysterically to the singer’s tweet.

https://twitter.com/JasChorusB/status/709238833578049536

Have a listen to Salman Ahmad’s latest track ‘Kaise Bolun’ below:

From the lyrics to the song to the video, nothing seems to be in place for this song, coming across as crass. We really don’t blame Ali Azmat for the unwanted Junoon reunion. It totally makes perfect sense now, as the song completely tarnishes the legacy of Junoon and also Salman Ahmad’s musical talent.

The fans were totally mortified by the latest offering of the singer.

So what are your thoughts about the song ‘Kaise Bolun’ and Ali Azmat’s reaction to it? Let us know in the comments below:

Prize Winning Novelist Anita Brookner Dies Aged 87

Anita Brookner, the author and art historian who won the 1984 Booker Prize for fiction, has died at the age of 87, it was announced Tuesday.

The novelist, who won the Booker for her novel “Hotel du Lac”, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, according to a notice of her death in The Times newspaper.

The only child of secular Polish Jews who settled in London, Brookner was born in 1928.

She studied art history before becoming the first woman to hold the Slade Professorship of Fine Art — the oldest professorship of art at the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and London.

After writing several art history books in the 1960s and 1970s, she switched to fiction in the 1980s and won the Booker Prize, one of the English-speaking world’s foremost literary awards.

“Hotel du Lac”, centred on a romance novelist staying on the shores of Lake Geneva, was a surprise winner.

Her novels often involved lonely female protagonists. She was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, one step below a knighthood, in 1990.

Her last book was “At The Hairdresser’s”, a novella published in 2011. Brookner was a “wonderful writer who had this wonderful lucid prose… she was an icon of my age”, British novelist Jilly Cooper told The Times. She was a “serious, serious writer who was very spare in her prose”.

Orange Prize-winning novelist Linda Grant called her an “underrated master of incisive fiction and laser prose”. Brookner never married and had no children. At her request there will be no funeral, the notice in The Times said.

Environment Behind Nearly Quarter of Global Deaths: WHO

One in four deaths worldwide are due to environmental factors like air, water and soil pollution, as well as unsafe roads and workplace stress, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday.

An estimated 12.6 million people died in 2012 as a result of living and working in unhealthy environments, 23 percent of all deaths reported globally, according to the new study.

“If countries do not take actions to make environments where people live and work healthy, millions will continue to become ill and die too young,” warned WHO chief Margaret Chan in a statement.

The report defines environmental causes broadly, drawing links between a long line of environmental risk factors like pollution, chemical exposure, climate change and ultraviolet radiation, as well as access to firearms and more than 100 diseases and injuries.

As many as 8.2 million of the deaths could be blamed on air pollution, including exposure to second-hand smoke, which is responsible for heart disease, cancers and chronic respiratory disease, the report said.

Air pollution is a factor in millions of deaths, according to a new WHO report

Among the deaths attributed to environmental factors were 1.7 million caused by “unintentional injuries”, including road accidents.

The report also counted 846,000 diarrhoeal disease deaths among environmental mortalities, adding that many were linked to pollution and unsafe drinking water.

Mother Teresa to Be Declared A Saint, 2 Decades After Her Death!

Road accidents, suicides

The WHO reported 246,000 deaths due to intentional injuries, including suicides, which it linked to the unsafe storage and access to firearms, as well as to pesticides — used in a full third of the world’s suicides — among other factors.

The report found that most environmentally-linked deaths happened in Southeast Asia, which accounted for 3.8 million such deaths in 2012, followed by the Western Pacific region with 3.5 million.

The least affected region was the Americas, with 847,000 deaths blamed on environmental conditions.

Europe had 1.4 million environmentally-linked deaths while Africa reported 2.2 million.

The WHO said that better environmental management could prevent the deaths of 1.7 million children under five, who are especially prone to serious illnesses arising from respiratory infections and diarrhoea.

“There’s an urgent need for investment in strategies to reduce environmental risks in our cities, homes and workplaces,” said Maria Neira, WHO’s public health chief.

“Such investments can significantly reduce the rising worldwide burden of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, injuries and cancers, and lead to immediate savings in healthcare costs,” she said.

The report is the second of its kind and follows an initial WHO study a decade ago.

Pakistani Celebrities React Over Afridi’s Controversial Statement

shahid-afridi

UPDATE: Many Pakistani celebrities and veteran Pakistani cricket players have issued statements in regards to Afridi’s ‘more love in India than Pakistan’ statement; some have supported his claim while others did not refrain from bashing him. Celebrities like Fawad Khan, Meera, Javed Miandad, Misbahul Haq, Sunil Gavaskar and coach Waqar Younis have voiced their opinions.

Coach Waqar Younis stood by his skipper Shahid Afridi Tuesday over his declaration that Pakistan’s cricketers receive more love in India than back home, saying critics should stop stirring up trouble.

Former Pakistani captain Javed Miandad has been at the forefront of the outrage over Afridi’s comments at the weekend shortly after the team’s delayed arrival for the World Twenty20 being played in India.

But Younis said Afridi’s critics were making something out of nothing and he should not be criticised for wearing his heart on his sleeve.

“This is something he felt. It’s his emotions,” the former fast bowler told reporters in Kolkata on the eve of Pakistan’s opening match in the World Twenty20 against Bangladesh.

“I believe we should leave it at that rather than creating a controversy out of nothing. We are here to play cricket, to beat teams,” he said ahead of Pakistan’s opening rubber against Bangladesh.

“My message to the boys is just leave everything behind. This is about playing some quality cricket and playing for the nation.”

India’s batting great Sunil Gavaskar on Tuesday said Afridi’s comments would help dull the hostility of the usually raucous home crowd at Eden Gardens, the venue for the much-awaited India-Pakistan tie on March 19th.

“Emotions run high whenever India play Pakistan,” Gavaskar told the NDTV news network. Test Captain Misbah ul Haq showed support for Afridi and clarified that Afridi meant well when he said this.

Actress Meera too had a message for Shahid Afridi and said that; “the players give more of their opinions rather than playing”.

Speaking to the media in Lahore in a press conference, Meera said;

“Please play very well. You’re in India representing Pakistan and you have to return as winners. Don’t give into the pressure, give the pressure. I hope you play well.”

“We have a team of confident performers; it’s one of the best in the world. I’m sure they’ll play superbly.”

She even invited the team to watch her upcoming movie ‘Hotal’: “I invite the whole team to watch [my next film] Hotal upon their return to Pakistan and ask them to support Pakistani cinema.”

Meera Indirectly Blames Mahira Khan For Her Career Downfall

On the other hand, the Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan backed Afridi in the row stating that Afridi’s statement was blown out of context.

“What happened with Afridi, I think it happens everywhere and anywhere that someone comes and creates an issue saying ‘You said wrong or did wrong’. When Afridi said ‘Indian fans have given us more love than what we get in Pakistan,’ it was in some other context but something else was made out of it,” Fawad said.

The Khoobsurat actor further stated, “I am excited. There is always an excitement of India-Pakistan match. It is one of the best competition and a fun competition. When I was a kid I used to take the results on heart but now I take it just as a match which has lots of fun.”

T20 captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Shahid Afridi clarified his “more loved in India than Pakistan” statement on Monday; he gave the following statement after the controversy took shook millions of his fans;

In order to tone down the controversy, Afridi clarified that he did not intend to disrespect his fans. “I was only trying to send a positive message in a diplomatic way,” Afridi explained.

“Whatever I am today, is only because of Pakistan and the fans in Pakistan. Nothing is more important to me than Pakistan and people of Pakistan,” he added.

The skipper further stated, “I am not just the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team I am representing the whole country here. The one statement I gave recently should be taken as positive.”

Afridi also added that former Pakistani greats such as Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Inzamam-ul-Haq would also say the same thing about India. “Even if you ask the former greats such was Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Imran Khan they all will say the same thing. People in India worship cricket and it is like a religion here,” Afridi added.

“I tried to give a positive message in India stating that Pakistani Cricketers are respected in India. My message was in a positive sense. I can’t help if one is trying to find negativity out of it”, the 36-year-old player said.

Shahid Afridi Lashes Out On Media Reporters AGAIN!

Pakistan’s T20 cricket skipper Shahid Khan Afridi has been served with a legal notice on Monday, over his statement “more loved in India than Pakistan”.

Speaking during a press conference in Kolkata on Monday, Shahid Afridi said that the Pakistani cricket team has always enjoyed playing in India and have always received immense love from the Indian crowds, even more than Pakistan. “We have always enjoyed playing in India and have been loved by Indian crowds more than crowds back home in Pakistan. Cricket has always brought people together and I think politics should be kept away from cricket,” Afridi said.

The notice was sent by Judicial Activism Panel Chairman, Azhar Saddiq at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s official address.

The notice highlighted the fact that building diplomatic relations with the neighboring country is the government’s responsibility and not a cricket player’s. It further condemned that the Pakistan team captain, representing the team at an international forum, should not have issued such a statement.

Javed Miandad, the former Pakistan captain denounced Afridi ‘s statement as shameful saying that “Players making such statements should be ashamed of themselves.”

In addition, the notice demanded Afridi a clarification of his statement or else he’ll be charged with treason charges, under Article 6 of the Constitution.

The Pakistan cricket team is presently in India, participating in the World T20 2016 tournament.

Pakistan is to begin their Super 10 campaign on Wednesday, 16th March. India has remained undefeated at the hands of Pakistan in a World Cup.

Pakistan’s very first match will be held against a qualifier team on 16th March at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The first match of the tournament between Pakistan and India is to be held on 19th of March at the same venue.

Pakistan will then take on New Zealand on March 22nd and Australia on March 25th in the Group B matches; the matches will both be held in Mohali.

Bangladesh will look to compound the misery of beleaguered Pakistan Wednesday in their opening group match of the World Twenty20, fresh from humbling their arch-rivals in the Asia Cup.

Bangladesh cruised through last week’s preliminary round and know that a victory over Pakistan will set them up nicely if they are to make the semi-finals for the first time.

Despite their recent improvements in 50-over cricket, Bangladesh has a rotten record in the World T20 and have never beaten Pakistan in the premier tournament of cricket’s shortest format.

But they will fancy their chances like never before at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens against a team who are on a miserable run and whose preparations have been hit by their late arrival in India in a row over security.

Star batsman Tamim Iqbal is in the form of his life, scoring Bangladesh’s first ever international T20 century in Sunday’s victory over Oman after scores of 83 and 47 in the first two games.

World T20 2016: India Vs New Zealand Match Highlights & Updates

Fans in the cricket-mad nation held impromptu street parties earlier this month when Bangladesh clinched a five-wicket win over Pakistan in Dhaka, sealing a place in the final of the Asia Cup which they lost to India.

Bangladesh was part of Pakistan before a brutal 1971 war of separation, and matches between the sides therefore always have an extra edge to them. Mashrafe Mortaza’s side can expect strong support from their fellow Bengalis in what is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal.

But Afridi said Pakistan had a good record at Eden Gardens, including a convincing victory over India in an ODI in January 2013. “We have very good memories over here and we are pretty much confident,” he told reporters in Kolkata.

Afridi landed himself in hot water at the weekend when he said he had received more “love” from fans in India than back home, comments that incensed former Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad.

Bangladesh’s build-up has been serene in comparison. But after seeing off Oman, the Netherlands and Ireland in the preliminaries, Mortaza knows the hard work now begins in a group that includes India, Australia and New Zealand.

“In that group you can’t make any mistakes, you have to be up to the mark everywhere,” said the veteran bowler.
