Bill Gates Says AI will Replace Most Doctors and Teachers in 10 Years

According to Bill Gates, in less than ten years, artificial intelligence advances will drastically diminish the role of humans in many traditional tasks, including education and medicine. The Microsoft co-founder recently spoke with comedian Jimmy Fallon on NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” describing a future in which AI technology will easily complete activities that today call for specialised human abilities, eliminating the need for people “for most things.” Expertise in disciplines like medical and education is still “rare” nowadays, according to Gates, who also noted that these industries rely on “a great doctor” or “a great teacher.”

But “with AI, over the next decade, that will become free, commonplace — great medical advice, great tutoring,” Gates said.

In other words, according to Bill Gates’ description of “free intelligence” in an interview with Harvard University professor and happiness expert Arthur Brooks last month, a new era of intelligence is dawning. According to Gates, the outcome will be swift advancements in AI-powered technology that are accessible and affect almost every part of our lives, from readily available AI tutors and virtual assistants to better medications and diagnosis.

The question of how exactly the majority of people will fit into an AI-powered future is still up for dispute. According to some analysts, artificial intelligence (AI) will boost economic growth and create more jobs by making human labour more efficient rather than completely replacing it. Others, such as Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, argue that further technology developments over the coming years would alter the nature of most occupations in almost every field and have a “hugely destabilising” effect on the labor force. In his 2023 book “The Coming Wave,” Suleyman stated that “these tools will only temporarily augment human intelligence.” “They will make us smarter and more efficient for a time, and will unlock enormous amounts of economic growth, but they are fundamentally labour replacing.”

Bill Gates saw the AI revolution coming nearly a decade ago. When asked which industry he’d focus on if he had to start over from scratch, he quickly chose AI.

SFA Raids Karachi Five-Star Hotel for Food Safety Violations

SFA Raids Karachi Five-Star Hotel for Food Safety Violations

The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) recently raided a Karachi Five-Star Hotel near PID, uncovering serious food safety violations. The operation revealed unhygienic practices that posed a risk to public health.

During the inspection, officials seized 25 kilograms of expired meat, outdated buttercream and other substandard food products. The kitchen and washing areas were in poor condition, failing to meet hygiene standards.

Authorities found that the hotel had neglected basic food safety protocols. The unhygienic conditions in critical areas, such as the kitchen and washing zones, indicated a lack of proper management and adherence to health regulations.

In response to these findings, the Sindh Food Authority filed a case in the South Civil Judge’s court. Officials emphasised the need for accountability and stricter enforcement of food safety laws to prevent such violations in the future. Authorities stressed that hotels and restaurants must ensure customer safety by following food safety regulations.

The Sindh Food Authority’s case against the Karachi Five-Star Hotel serves as a warning to all food establishments. Violations will not be tolerated, and strict legal measures will be taken against businesses that compromise public health.

The management of the Karachi Five-Star Hotel has yet to state the raid and the legal proceedings. As the case develops, further details on the extent of the violations and the corrective actions required are expected.

Additionally, recently, authorities in Lahore sealed a factory producing samosa patties under highly unhygienic conditions. During the raid, the factory manager admitted to the violations. This case further highlights the urgent need for stricter food safety enforcement to protect consumers, especially during the festive season.

SHC Issues Notice to FIA on Farhan Mallick’s FIR

SHC Issues Notice to FIA on Farhan Mallick’s FIR

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issues notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other parties after journalist Farhan Mallick filed a petition asking for the cancellation of an FIR registered against him. During the court proceedings, Advocate Abdul Moeez, who represents Mallick, argued that the cases against his client were baseless and motivated by ill intentions. He said, “The cases against my client are not only without merit but also driven by malice.”

He further claimed that although the legal proceedings started with the FIA, it seemed like the investigating officer was personally involved beyond his official duties. Mallick’s lawyer requested that the investigating officer, the FIA director-general, and the federation be added as official respondents to the case. The court accepted this request and allowed changes to the title of the petition. After this, notices were formally issued to the FIA and other concerned parties. The court then adjourned the hearing and asked all parties to submit their replies by April 23.

This case gained attention after the FIA registered an FIR on March 20, which is connected to the Karsaz Road accident and allegations linked to Raftar TV’s YouTube channel. According to the FIA, the channel was allegedly involved in running a campaign that included “anti-state videos targeting dignitaries,” which is against the law. Farhan Mallick has been accused under multiple sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) 2016, including Section 16, which is about the unauthorised use of identity information, and Section 20, which deals with offences against the dignity of a person. He is also charged under Section 26-A of Peca, which focuses on spreading “fake news.”

Section 26-A defines fake news as information that someone “knows or has reason to believe to be false or fake and likely to cause or create a sense of fear, panic, disorder or unrest.” If found guilty under this section, a person could face up to three years in prison, a fine of Rs2 million, or both. Additionally, Mallick has been booked under Sections 500 (defamation) and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Mallick’s counsel pointed out during the hearing that the charges are exaggerated and unfair, especially as the Karsaz Road accident-related case is now being used to add more pressure on the journalist. He said that the investigation shows signs of personal involvement, which raises serious concerns about fairness. The court will continue the case on April 23 when all parties are expected to submit their replies.

Experts Now Discover a Vast City Under the Pyramid of Giza

Experts Now Discover a Vast City Under the Pyramid of Giza
Experts Now Discover a Vast City Under the Pyramid of Giza

For centuries, the Pyramids of Giza have captivated historians, archaeologists and tourists alike. The latest discovery has once again made people very invested in the secrets Egyptians and their pyramids hold.

Last week, a team in Italy presented research that claimed to have discovered multi-thousand-foot-tall wells and chambers under the Khafre Pyramid. This has indicated a possible discovery of a lost city.

A Hidden City Beneath the Pyramids of Giza?

This recent study has hinted at an extensive network of tunnels, chambers and structures that lie beneath the Great Pyramid of Giza. These discoveries challenge long-held assumptions about the pyramid’s construction and its role in ancient Egyptian civilization.

Experts theorize that this underground city may have been a residential area for workers, a burial site for priests and nobles, or even a hidden sanctuary for pharaohs. This aligns with ancient texts and local legends that speak of secret passages beneath the Pyramid of Giza.

New Discoveries Beneath the Pyramid of Giza

Advanced Scanning Technology Confirms the Discovery

Using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and 3D mapping, researchers have detected large hollow spaces beneath the Pyramid of Giza. This technology has allowed scientists to create digital models of what appears to be a sophisticated underground city.

They cross-checked the structures with known architectural forms, ‘specifically those accessible to us today, such as the Pozzo di San Patrizio in Italy.’

Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass stated, “We are closer than ever to proving that the Pyramid of Giza was not just a standalone monument but part of a much larger, hidden complex.”

Why Is This Discovery Significant?

The confirmation of an underground city beneath the Pyramid of Giza could reshape our understanding of ancient Egyptian engineering, society, and burial practices.

If the underground city is verified, it could suggest that the Pyramid of Giza was part of a larger civilisation hub rather than just a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu. Moreover, this discovery can also lead to the excavation of untouched relics, providing insights into Egyptian daily life, religious practices and craftsmanship.

What’s Next for Archaeologists?

Experts are planning further excavations and technological scans to confirm the exact layout and purpose of the underground structures. While challenges like limited access, preservation concerns and political factors may slow the process, the findings so far are groundbreaking.

As researchers continue their exploration, the Pyramid of Giza may soon reveal more of its long-hidden secrets, proving once again that Egypt’s ancient wonders still have much to teach us.

Poco F7 Review: Display, Battery Life, Camera Quality and More

Poco F7 Review: Display, Battery Life, Camera Quality and More
Poco F7 Review: Display, Battery Life, Camera Quality and More

The Poco F7 Ultra is disrupting the smartphone space by bringing flagship capabilities for a budget price. Priced at Rs135k/165k for the 12GB/256GB model, it is not an outright premium flagship, but it definitely gives its competitors a run for their money in novel ways. This new member of the Poco family introduces a telephoto camera, a performance-focused chipset and lightning-fast charging, which will make it hard to resist for those looking for premium-grade performance without a huge price tag.

Poco F7 Review: Display, Battery Life, Camera Quality and More
Poco F7 Review: Display, Battery Life, Camera Quality and More

Competitive Landscape

The Poco F7 Ultra faces tough competition from some strong rivals within its price segment. The OnePlus 13R, for example, has a good experience to offer, but Poco gets the advantage for those who love clicking, especially telephoto shots and close-ups. On the other hand, the vivo iQOO 13 has great battery life and an improved ultrawide camera but fails to match Poco’s excellence in macro photography.

The other key competitor is the Xiaomi 14T Pro. Though it has a superior main camera, it lacks the close-up telephoto shooting prowess that the F7 Ultra specializes in. Furthermore, given the 14T Pro was released a few months ago, Poco’s newest offering tastes fresher and more forward-thinking.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE comes into the fray as a cheaper alternative from a premium brand. It lags behind in camera features, chipset speed, and charging speed. Nevertheless, its brand reputation and ecosystem integration might appeal to Samsung die-hards.

For those willing to spend a bit more money, the Realme GT 7 Pro provides a stunningly bright screen and extended software support. However, even priced slightly higher, it doesn’t really provide a better camera experience than the Poco F7 Ultra.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The F7 Ultra offers a number of standout features:

  • IP68-rated build provides ruggedness.
  • Beautiful display with Dolby Vision support.
  • Fast charging (30 minutes to full) and wireless charging.
  • Advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for heavy-duty performance.
  • Telephoto camera with class-leading close-up photography capabilities.

Nonetheless, it has some demerits too:

  • Ultrawide lens does not have 4K video recording.
  • Selfies are subpar at 1080p video quality.
  • No support for eSIM, which is a turnoff for some.

Final Verdict

The Poco F7 Ultra successfully redefines what ‘Ultra’ means within its segment. While it doesn’t offer an all-encompassing flagship experience, it punches well above its weight in performance and camera capabilities. If you’re looking for a versatile, high-performance smartphone at a reasonable price, the Poco F7 Ultra is an easy recommendation.

Rohit Sharma and the England Test Series: A Break or the Beginning of the End?

why-did-rohit-sharma-photoshop-his-picture

India’s cricketing landscape is buzzing with speculation—Will Rohit Sharma play the upcoming Test series against England, or is he stepping away from the format?

The Indian captain, fresh off leading his team to Champions Trophy 2025 glory, is currently back in IPL mode, representing Mumbai Indians. But once the T20 extravaganza ends, India’s focus will shift to a grueling five-match Test series in England from June 20 to August 4. And that’s where the uncertainty begins.

A Much-Needed Break or a Tactical Retreat?

Reports from Indian media suggest that Rohit is considering skipping the England tour, citing his poor form in last year’s Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

In that series, he managed a mere 31 runs in five innings, ultimately sitting out the fifth Test. Given this, it’s no surprise that doubts are swirling about his role as India’s long-format captain—and even his place in the squad.

But is this just a temporary break, or could it be the beginning of the end for Rohit in Test cricket?

Rohit Sharma Breaks His Silence

Amid the speculation, Rohit was quick to shut down retirement rumors. Addressing the issue, he made his stance crystal clear:

“This is not a decision of retirement. I am not moving away from this game. But I took a decision to step away because I was not able to score runs with the bat. There is no guarantee that I will score runs two months or five months from now.”

Fair point. Form is unpredictable, and the England tour, with its seaming conditions and relentless bowling attacks, is not the easiest place to regain confidence.

But what really caught attention was his dig at critics: “People sitting in the commentary box, or writing with a laptop in their hands, will not decide how my life goes.”

A strong statement—one that suggests Rohit is in control of his own fate, regardless of what the media says.

What’s Next for Rohit Sharma?

If Rohit does opt out of the England series, it raises big questions about India’s leadership in Test cricket.

  • Will he return for a future series, or will this break extend indefinitely?

  • If he steps aside, who takes over? Will we see a full-time captaincy shift?

For now, Rohit Sharma remains India’s Test skipper on paper, but his long-term future in the format is a question only time will answer. Break or no break, all eyes will be on his next move.

Sindh Governor Urges SC to Act on Karachi’s Fatal Traffic Accidents

Sindh Governor Urges SC to Act on Karachi’s Fatal Traffic Accidents

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has written to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, urging him to take immediate notice of the rising number of Karachi’s fatal traffic accidents, particularly those involving dumpers and tankers. He highlighted that over 70 fatalities have already been reported this year, including the tragic March 24 incident in which a speeding water bowser killed a couple and their newborn at Malir Halt.

Tessori stressed that previous requests to the Sindh High Court for stricter enforcement of traffic laws have not yielded results. He called on the Supreme Court to take urgent action, arguing that Karachi’s roads have become increasingly dangerous due to reckless driving and administrative lapses.

Read more: Kamran Tessori Responded to Murtaza Wahab’s Statement

Visiting the grieving family of the Malir Halt victims, Tessori expressed deep sorrow and criticized the authorities for inaction. He questioned how dumpers without number plates continued to operate unchecked, attributing the problem to illegal immigrants driving these vehicles. He further stated that if given control of Karachi’s traffic for a week, he would ensure that such accidents no longer occur.

To address the crisis, he announced plans for an all-parties conference to unite political forces against the rising road fatalities. He also promised financial assistance and housing plots for the families of victims.

Tessori urged the Chief Justice to hold a special Supreme Court session in Karachi to address the issue, emphasising that Karachi’s problems require collective action and strict enforcement of traffic laws to prevent further tragedies.

Shoaib Akhtar to Virender Sehwag: “Bhai, Bas Kar Do!”

shoaib-akhtar-to-virender-sehwag-bhai-bas-kar-do

If there’s one thing cricket fans love, it’s a bit of banter between former players. And when it involves Shoaib Akhtar and Virender Sehwag, you know it’s going to be entertaining!

The latest round of friendly fire started when Sehwag, once again, brought up his famous 309-run knock against Pakistan in 2004. He shared a video on Instagram, subtly reminding everyone of his historic feat. But it seems Shoaib Akhtar has had enough of hearing about it.

Akhtar’s Hilarious Response

Taking to Instagram, the Rawalpindi Express fired back in classic Shoaib style.

“Man, I am fed up of hearing him talk. It is the same tape he has been playing for the last 20 years – ‘300, 300, 300’,” Akhtar said, clearly exasperated.

He didn’t stop there. With a cheeky grin, he added:

“Come on, brother, I was there too when you scored that 300. You played really well, no doubt. But it’s the month of fasting, and one has to control their tongue – so please, stop now.”

And then came the knockout punch: “If you want an entry in the Guinness World Records, I can get that done: ‘The person who says 300 the most in the world – Virender Sehwag!’”

The Knock That Won’t Be Forgotten

For those who don’t remember, Sehwag’s 309 in Multan 2004 was a historic moment. He became the first Indian batter to score a triple century in Test cricket, tearing apart Pakistan’s bowling attack in the process.

Read More: Former Pakistan Captain Calls For Sahibzada Farhan’s International Return

His blistering knock, alongside Sachin Tendulkar’s unbeaten 194, powered India to a mammoth 675/5 declared in the first innings. Pakistan couldn’t recover, folding for 407 and 216 in their two innings, handing India an innings-and-52-run victory.

But 20 Years Later… Is It Time to Move On?

Sehwag’s knock was legendary, no doubt. But Shoaib Akhtar’s frustration echoes what many fans have been thinking. How many times can you remind people of the same innings before it starts sounding like a broken record?

Of course, knowing Sehwag, he’ll have a witty comeback soon. And let’s be honest—cricket is more fun when these two keep the banter alive!

Now, the question is: Will Sehwag finally stop talking about 300, or will he double down? Let’s wait and see!

Former Pakistan Captain Calls For Sahibzada Farhan’s International Return

sahibzada-farhan-international-cricket-salman-butt

Pakistan cricket has never been short of talent, but the real challenge has always been spotting and backing the right players. Recently, Sahibzada Farhan has reignited this debate with his jaw-dropping performances in domestic cricket.

Rashid Latif Calls Out PCB’s Selection Policy

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif isn’t happy with how things are shaping up. He believes Farhan has done more than enough to earn a proper run in the national setup.

Speaking on a TV channel, Latif questioned the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) approach, especially when players like Hasan Nawaz—who had a breakthrough moment in New Zealand—are being pushed ahead despite limited domestic experience.

Read More: Rashid Latif Slams Pakistan’s Performance, Calls for Coaching Changes

“You can’t just say Hasan should go ahead because he scored a century. That’s not how it works,” Latif said. “There are other players as well. If I compare him with Sahibzada Farhan, the difference is huge. He’s been the top performer in domestic T20 tournaments for a reason.”

Breaking Records, But Still Overlooked

Sahibzada Farhan has been a dominant force in domestic cricket, especially in the ongoing National T20 Cup. His latest century in the semi-final against Abbottabad was a reminder of why he deserves a place in Pakistan’s squad.

Farhan has piled up 605 runs in just seven innings this season, smashing his own record of 492 runs from last season. That’s not just consistency—it’s domination.

And if breaking his own record wasn’t enough, he also went past Fakhar Zaman’s previous national record for most runs in a single T20 tournament. Fakhar had scored 588 runs in the 2022 PSL—but in 13 innings. Farhan overtook him in just seven matches!

His batting this season has been nothing short of sensational:

✅ 114 vs Lahore Whites*
✅ 62
✅ 76
✅ 162 (Yes, you read that right!)
✅ 26
✅ 148*

When a player is consistently putting up these kinds of numbers, it’s hard to justify keeping him out of the national team.

What More Does He Need to Do?

This isn’t about Hasan Nawaz vs. Sahibzada Farhan. It’s about fairness in selection. Players who have worked their way up through consistent performances deserve a fair shot.

Yes, Farhan has played for Pakistan before, but was he ever given a real chance to settle? If the PCB is serious about finding the best talent for the T20 World Cup, they cannot ignore a player who is rewriting the record books at home.

Read More: Two Key Players Join Pakistan ODI Squad for New Zealand Series

With Pakistan’s middle order struggling in recent T20Is, isn’t it time to bring in a player who has proven his ability to score big, fast, and under pressure?

The ball is in PCB’s court. The fans have spoken. Rashid Latif has spoken. And most importantly, Sahibzada Farhan’s bat has spoken—loud and clear. Now, will the selectors finally listen?

Islamabad Court Grants Bail to Journalist Waheed Murad

Islamabad Court Grants Bail to Journalist Waheed Murad

The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad granted bail to journalist Waheed Murad on Friday. He had been arrested under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

Murad appeared in court after completing a two-day physical remand. Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) brought him before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah. After the hearing, the judge ordered that Murad be sent to jail on judicial remand.

During the proceedings, the judge asked the FIA about the material recovered from Murad. His lawyer, Imaan Mazari, argued that he had only quoted politician Akhtar Mengal’s words in a social media post. Another lawyer, Hadi Ali Chatha, supported this, stating that Murad’s first tweet was based on Mengal’s statement.

After reviewing the arguments, the court granted Murad’s post-arrest bail against Rs 50,000 surety bonds.

Earlier, Murad’s mother-in-law filed a petition for his recovery. Lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha submitted the petition on her behalf. The petition named several officials as respondents, including the interior secretary, defence secretary, Islamabad’s inspector general of police and the SHO (station house officer) of Karachi Company police station.

A complaint about Murad’s disappearance was lodged at the Karachi Company police station. However, authorities did not register a formal FIR.

The petition demanded urgent efforts to find Journalist Waheed Murad and legal action against those responsible for his alleged abduction. It highlighted concerns over press freedom and the safety of journalists in Pakistan.

The arrest of Journalist Waheed Murad sparked criticism from journalist groups and human rights organisations, who called for stronger protections for press freedom. Many activists also questioned the use of PECA laws against journalists.

How to Reduce Melanin in Skin: Brightening the Skin Without Damage

How to Reduce Melanin in Skin
How to Reduce Melanin in Skin

Melanin is responsible for the colour of our skin, hair and eyes. Now, don’t get me wrong; it is essential, but only when it’s in the required amount. Otherwise, it can drastically affect the appearance of the skin and increase problems like hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Melanin removal can be a bit of a hassle, especially when you don’t wish to damage your skin in the process. So, here is how to reduce Melanin in skin—the safe way!

Melanin and Its Importance

Melanin is the pigment that gives colour to your skin, hair and eyes. It’s created by cells called melanocytes, which are found in the outer layer of your skin. It helps to shield the skin from the sun, and increased production leads to a tan. This helps to protect your body against sunburn.

However, some people’s cells make more melanin, as well as certain types of melanin, than others. And that’s what makes their skin darker than others and have more melasma, freckles and an uneven skin tone.

Melanin Rich Skin
Melanin Rich Skin

How to Reduce Melanin in Skin?

In order to reduce Melanin, both professional treatments and home-based remedies can be useful. However, keep in mind that you can’t permanently eliminate Melanin as it is something that our skin needs.

Natural Remedies

Some people claim that certain natural remedies can also help. Even though there isn’t enough evidence on the effectiveness of these methods; if it’s working for others, it doesn’t hurt to try. Here is how to decrease Melanin in skin the natural way:

  1. Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera gel is used for a lot of skin related concerns and it is also a popular natural ingredient in reducing Melanin production. This is because the plant contains Aloesin, a compound that inhibits melanin synthesis. To use Aloe Vera, apply a thin layer of the gel to the skin and leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing off.
  2. Lemon Juice: Some people also use lemon juice to reduce skin pigmentation. This is due to the high vitamin C content in lemons that prevents the formation of Melanin. Apply a thin layer of freshly squeezed lemon juice on the affected areas and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with water. However, do a patch test first as Lemon extract can at times cause inflammation in some skin types.
  3. Turmeric: Turmeric has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its skin-brightening properties. This is due to an active compound in Turmeric called Curcumin, which helps suppress the ability of melanocytes to create more melanin and improves skin brightness. Just mix a spoonful of turmeric powder with milk or honey and create a smooth paste. Then apply it to the skin. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes before rinsing off.

Professional Treatment

One professional treatment that can help reduce melanin production in the skin is Laser Therapy. This light therapy uses high-energy light beams to target and break down melanin pigments in the skin. It can reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and promote a more even skin tone. There are several types of laser treatments that can be used, including ablative lasers, non-ablative lasers, and 1064 nm lasers. However, it must be understood that multiple laser therapy sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.

Another light-based therapy that is trending a lot these days is, Intense pulse light (IPL). It uses pulses of light energy to target sunspots by heating and destroying the melanin, which removes the discoloured spots. However, IPL is not recommended for people with darker skin. For people of colour, the 1064 nm laser is a safer option.

Doctors may also recommend topical creams or serums containing ingredients like hydroquinone, kojic acid, or retinoids. These ingredients inhibit melanin production and promote skin cell turnover. It is crucial to consult with a dermatologist before using these products on your skin to ensure their safety and effectiveness.

Side Note: Whatever method is used, sunscreen should not be forgotten. If one is already using it then they must increase its use and for those not using any SPF based products and sunscreen must incorporate one in their daily routine.

Reasons for High Melanin Production in Skin

As already stated, Melanin is produced by melanocytes in the skin. There are certain factors that increase this production and make some people suffer from increased melanin levels:

  • Genetics: Determines baseline skin tone. There is high chance if your parents have high melanin levels than you will too
  • Sun exposure: UV rays stimulate melanin production as a defense mechanism. This can often cause dark spots too.
  • Hormonal changes: Pregnancy, birth control and medical conditions can also trigger excess melanin.
  • Inflammation: Acne, injuries, or allergic reactions can lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
  • Certain medications: Some drugs can increase melanin production as a side effect.

Melanin Reducing Foods: How to Reduce Melanin in Skin Permanently By Eating

While you cannot permanently exclude melanin from the skin, you can reduce it, especially by eating certain melanin reducing foods. Many dermatologists and experts often recommend eating our skin care before applying it. Only this can give long term results.

Studies have shown that high protein and rich fibrous food enriched with vitamins disrupts melanin production in the body. These foods include:

  • Watermelon
  • Kiwi
  • Papaya
  • Dry Fruits
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Berries
  • Tomatoes
  • Flex Seeds
  • Pumpkin Seeds

Including these foods in your diet will help lighten the skin since they include high levels of antioxidants, vitamin C and glutathione.

Tanning Without Increasing Melanin

People often don’t have a problem with darker skin but the skin concerns that come with it. So anyone who wishes to get more tan without increasing Melanin levels in their skin can opt for tanning beds. This can make the skin look more tanned without getting exposed to harmful UV rays. These self tanning methods use a pigmentation effect on the skin called Melanoidin. The pigment can last a few days, and then fades as your skin produces new cells.

Remedies That Should be Avoided

Not all remedies are created equally. Some remedies can cause skin irritation, redness, or damage.

These include:

Reducing Melanin Made Safe and Easy

You no longer have to ask,” how to reduce melanin in skin? ” Just follow the solutions stated above and remember that consistency is key! No doubt, the melanin levels in your skin will be reduced without a doubt. And if nothing works (which is a big “if”), then we would recommend consulting a dermatologist, as there is a chance that there might be more problems with the skin than is visible.

Zakat Beneficiaries in Rawalpindi to Not Get 'Eidi' This Year

For the first time in Punjab’s history, 10,000 deserving individuals and Zakat beneficiaries in the Rawalpindi division will not receive Eidul Fitr assistance. Many rely on this aid for festive celebrations, and its absence has caused significant disappointment. As a result, the monthly allowance for widows and destitute families has increased from Rs1,500 to Rs2,000, while the dowry fund has risen from Rs25,000 to Rs100,000.

The Rawalpindi district Zakat office has also increased yearly financial aid for deserving individuals. It raised the monthly subsistence allowance by Rs500 and the dowry fund for underprivileged girls by Rs75,000. This change aims to provide better support during the Eid festival.

The district Zakat office and 1,166 local Zakat committees have informed recipients that Eid gifts will not be given this year. Many Zakat beneficiaries in Rawalpindi visited the Zakat offices, hoping to receive assistance, but left empty-handed and disappointed.

According to the Zakat Committee Administrator, Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema’s office allocated Rs2.4 billion for Rawalpindi’s deserving families. However, officials told due to time constraints, it is impossible to distribute the Eid gifts before Eidul Fitr.

Instead of Eid aid, beneficiaries will receive a lump sum of Rs24,000 per family for the entire year. The new Rs2,000 monthly allowance will cover their basic needs. Officials have finalised recipient lists, and fund distribution will take place from April 7 to April 14.

Additionally, visually impaired individuals will also receive Rs24,000 annually, disbursed at Rs2,000 per month. Authorities assure that while Eid assistance has been cancelled, the increased financial aid will offer better long-term support for Zakat beneficiaries in Rawalpindi division.

Fire Destroys Shops at Landa Bazaar in Sadiqabad

A sudden fire broke out at Landa Bazaar in Sadiqabad near Railway Station on Thursday, destroying dozens of shops and pushcarts. The market had over 200 temporary shops selling used clothes and was located between the railway station and Railway Road.

Rescue 1122 team declared a red code and reported that sparks from an electric pole started the fire, which spread rapidly. Firefighters received the emergency call at 12:14 pm. Thick black smoke filled the sky as fire engines from multiple cities, along with municipal and factory fire teams, rushed to contain the flames. Rescue 1122 teams from all four tehsils of the Rahim Yar Khan District were present.

A shopkeeper estimated that hundreds of shops burned down, each carrying stock worth Rs3 million to Rs4 million due to Eidul Fitr’s approach. Strong winds worsened the situation, affecting a 2km area of the market.

Another trader blamed the fire on unplanned electricity poles and local ovens used for roasting peanuts and making sweets. He said similar fires had happened before. Many shops at Landa Bazaar in Sadiqabad were made of wooden planks, making them highly flammable. He also criticised Pakistan Railways for allotting these shops without a proper leasing process, leading to poor market planning.

During the fire, an old railway coach parked on the tracks caught fire. Pakistan Railways spokesperson Babar Ali Raza clarified that it was not a passenger coach but an old one used by track maintenance staff. It contained tools and diesel, but the railway’s signal system remained safe.

Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan Khuram Pervaiz visited the Landa Bazaar in Sadiqabad to oversee rescue efforts. He stated that six fire engines and 22 fire tenders were actively working to control the fire. He assured that authorities would investigate the cause of repeated fires in the area.

Landa Bazaar has seen similar incidents before. Fires in 2015, 2017 and 2021 destroyed hundreds of shops, causing significant losses.
