New Zealand Thrash Pakistan as Seifert Smashes 97 in 5th T20I
New Zealand thrashed Pakistan, with Tim Seifert’s remarkable 97 not out off just 38 balls guiding the team to a commanding eight-wicket victory in the fifth T20I in Wellington. Chasing a target of 129, New Zealand comfortably reached 131/2 in just 10 overs.
Seifert played a brilliant inning, hitting six fours and ten sixes at a strike rate of 255.26. He was supported by Finn Allen, who scored 27 off 12 balls, as New Zealand completed the chase with 60 balls to spare. Sufiyan Muqeem managed to take two wickets, dismissing Allen and Mark Chapman, but Pakistan had no chance of making a comeback against New Zealand’s aggressive batting approach.
With this win, New Zealand secured the T20I series 4-1.
Earlier, Pakistan struggled with the bat, managing only 128/9 in their 20 overs. Skipper Salman Agha was the top scorer, playing a fighting knock of 51 off 39 balls. However, Pakistan’s batting lineup failed to support him.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan suffered an early collapse. Hasan Nawaz got out for a duck, while Mohammad Haris (11) and Omair Yousuf (7) followed soon, leaving Pakistan at 25/3. Usman Khan (7) and Abdul Samad (4) also failed to contribute, causing further trouble.
Shadab Khan tried to build momentum with a 20-ball 28, hitting five boundaries, but Pakistan could not accelerate. Agha, who struck six fours and a six, was dismissed in the 19th over.
New Zealand’s bowlers dominated the game, with James Neesham leading the attack, taking 5/22 in four overs. Jacob Duffy (2/18), Ish Sodhi (1/32), and Ben Sears (1/25) also played key roles in restricting Pakistan to a modest total. With a required rate of just 6.45, New Zealand was confident about chasing 129.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. In a surprising move, Shaheen Shah Afridi was dropped from the playing XI after his struggles in the series.
Playing XI:
Pakistan: Salman Ali Agha (c), Mohammad Haris (wk), Hasan Nawaz, Omair Bin Yousuf, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Abdul Samad, Jahandad Khan, Haris Rauf, Sufyan Muqim, Mohammad Ali
New Zealand: Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Mitch Hay (wk), Michael Bracewell (c), Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy, Ben Sears, Will O’Rourke

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) on Wednesday said that the Shawwal moon was likely to occur on March 29, followed by its sighting on March 30 and Eid ul Fitr was expected to fall on March 31 (Monday).
The Suparco’s prediction is based on scientific assessments, astronomical calculations and modern observational data concerning the forecast for the visibility of the Shawwal moon.
“According to precise astronomical models, the new Moon (conjunction) for Shawwal will occur on 29 March 2025, at 3:58 pm.”
“The visibility of the crescent depends on key factors such as the moon’s age, its angular separation from the sun, altitude at sunset, and atmospheric conditions,” read the statement issued by Suparco.
According to the government agency, chances of sighting the moon are almost impossible in Saudi Arabia on March 25, and the first day of Eid ul Fitr is likely to fall on March 31 — the same as in Pakistan.
Suparco’s forecast falls in line with that of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, which has also predicted that Eid to fall on March 31. The federal government has also officially announced the public holidays for Eid ul Fitr, granting a three-day break.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays will run from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to convene on Sunday evening to sight the Shawwal moon. The moonsighting committee’s meeting will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

Hasan Nawaz’s Brilliant Knock Puts Pakistan Ahead in 205 Chase
Cricket can be cruel. One day, you’re making history. The next, you’re on the wrong side of the record books. The debut T20I series of Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz perfectly sums up this unpredictability.
The 22-year-old opener burst onto the international scene with excitement, but his journey so far has been a tale of extremes—spectacular highs and crushing lows.
A Nightmare Start
Hasan Nawaz made his T20I debut against New Zealand on March 16, but it wasn’t the dream start he hoped for. He was dismissed without scoring in his first two matches, joining an unfortunate list of batters with back-to-back ducks at the start of their careers.
Only six players in T20I history have experienced such a rough start, and Hasan became just the second Pakistani to suffer this fate. The pressure was mounting.
From Zero to Hero
Then came the third T20I, and what a turnaround it was! Hasan smashed a century in just 44 balls, making it the fastest hundred ever by a Pakistani in T20Is. He went from two ducks to an unforgettable match-winning innings, leading Pakistan to a dominant nine-wicket win over New Zealand.
It was the kind of innings that turns a struggling player into an overnight sensation. The young opener had announced himself in style.
The Slump Returns
But cricket, as always, is unforgiving. In the fourth T20I, Hasan struggled again, managing just one run in Mount Maunganui. Then, in the final match of the series, he fell for another duck, this time in the second over to Jacob Duffy.
That dismissal gave Hasan an unwanted record—the most ducks (3) by a Pakistani opener in a single T20I series, surpassing names like Shahzaib Hasan, Mohammad Hafeez, and Mohammad Rizwan.
Most Ducks by a Pakistani Opener in a T20I Series
3 – Hasan Nawaz (5 innings)
2 – Shahzaib Hasan (2 innings)
2 – Mohammad Hafeez (3 innings)
2 – Mohammad Rizwan (4 innings)
What’s Next for Hasan?
Despite the ups and downs, Hasan Nawaz has shown that he has the ability to bounce back. His record-breaking century proves that he has the talent to dominate at the highest level. The challenge now? Finding consistency.
Many greats have had shaky starts, but those who survive the early setbacks go on to make a name for themselves. Hasan is young, fearless, and capable of turning the tide. If he can work on his weaknesses and stay mentally strong, Pakistan may have found a future T20 superstar.

The name Muhammad Abbas is buzzing in cricket circles, and for good reason. The Lahore-born, New Zealand-raised batting all-rounder has just earned his maiden call-up for the ODI series against Pakistan.
This selection is more than just a milestone—it’s a full-circle moment for a player whose roots lie in Pakistan but whose cricketing journey flourished in New Zealand.
From Lahore to Wellington: A Cricketing Journey
Born in Lahore, Abbas moved to New Zealand as a toddler when his father, Azhar Abbas, took up a role at Karori Cricket Club in Wellington. Cricket was always in his blood—his father had played first-class cricket in Pakistan before settling in New Zealand and later becoming the assistant coach of Wellington Firebirds.
Abbas showed his cricketing talent early, scoring his first century at just 11 years old. Fast forward to February 2023, and he made his first-class debut for Wellington against Otago. His impressive performances quickly earned him a domestic contract with Wellington and a spot in the New Zealand A team against Australia A. Now, he’s taking the next big step—international cricket.
A Proud Father-Son Moment
For Azhar Abbas, watching his son don the Black Caps jersey is an emotional moment. Speaking about his son’s journey, he said:
“It is a proud moment that my son is getting a chance to play against Pakistan. The Pakistan team is strong, so it will be a good contest. Muhammad Abbas will fight hard.”
Azhar always had a vision for his son.
“From the moment he was born, I was determined to make him a cricketer. My goal was to ensure that my son became a professional player. I passed on all the hard work and experience I had gained to Abbas.”
Clearly, that hard work has paid off.
Muhammad Abbas, while speaking to a media channel, expressed his confidence and hunger to perform.
“I am very happy at the moment. Muhammad Abbas will prove himself as a fighter. He always gives a tough time to the opposition, no matter which team it is. It will be an exciting match against Pakistan,” he said.
That’s the kind of mindset fans love to see—a young player eager to make his mark, even against the country of his birth.
Pakistan Connection, Kiwi Dream
Despite his deep Pakistani roots—his family hails from Roshanpur, District Khanewal—Abbas always had his sights set on representing New Zealand. His father acknowledges this reality.
“Although we are Pakistanis, living here gave us the opportunity to play for New Zealand.”
Now, Mohammad Abbas is set to wear the Black Caps jersey, ready to take on the country where his journey began.
Final Thoughts
Every cricketing career has a story, and Muhammad Abbas’ is one of passion, hard work, and a father’s dream coming true. His journey from a Lahore-born boy to a New Zealand international is proof that talent finds its way—no matter where you start.
Now, all eyes will be on him when he steps onto the field against Pakistan. Will he shine against his country of birth? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain—Muhammad Abbas is ready to fight.

Senior Journalist Waheed Murad Allegedly Abducted from Home
Senior journalist Waheed Murad was allegedly abducted from his home in Islamabad early on Wednesday morning. According to his wife, masked men in black uniforms forcibly entered the house at around 2 am and took him away in a black “dala.”
The wife of Waheed Murad stated that the men knocked on the door and accused her husband of being an Afghan. When Murad denied the claim and slid his identity card under the door as proof, they forcibly broke in. She added that the men, dressed in black uniforms, seized both Murad and her mother’s phones before taking him away in a black vehicle.
Murad’s wife, who is currently abroad, said that her mother was at home at the time of the alleged abduction. She had requested the intruders to send female police officers, but they refused and forcibly took Murad away.
Family sources confirmed that the abduction took place on Chaman Road in Sector G-8. Later, Murad’s mother-in-law filed a petition for the missing journalist’s recovery via Advocates Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha. The interior secretary, defence secretary, Islamabad inspector general of police, and the station house officer (SHO) of Karachi Company police station have been named as respondents in the plea.
According to the petition, individuals dressed in black uniforms arrived at their home in Sector G-8 at 2 am, and two police vehicles were also seen accompanying them.
The petition alleges that the men in black uniforms forcibly took Murad away. It also states that those who entered the house misbehaved with the family. A complaint was lodged at the Karachi Company police station, but no FIR was registered. The petition requests an immediate order for the recovery of Murad and legal action against those involved in his unlawful abduction.

P&G Pakistan, Imtiaz Group – Pakistan’s largest retailer and Health Oriented Preventive Education (HOPE), a non-governmental organization dedicated to tackling poverty and fueling transformative change within underserved communities, today joined forces to deliver 500,000 liters of clean drinking water during the blessed month of Ramadan. This initiative goes beyond providing an essential resource, it empowers consumers to make a tangible impact through their everyday purchases, fostering community engagement and social responsibility during the holy month.
The collaboration will launch nationwide across all 31 branches of Imtiaz, with a “Buy 1, Give 1 Day of Water,”. From March 24–30, 2025, consumers who purchase Ariel, Pampers, Always, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, or Safeguard will contribute to this cause with every purchase.
P&G’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program Celebrates 20 Years with Imtiaz Group and HOPE Partnership, Delivering 500,000 Liters of Clean Water to Pakistan’s Water-Scarce Areas
Ovais Ather Yousuf, Chief Executive Officer of P&G Pakistan, stated, ” At P&G, we believe that small actions can drive big change. With our CSDW program, we have proudly delivered 1 billion liters of clean drinking water across Pakistan, a milestone that reflects our deep commitment to improving lives. Through this initiative with Imtiaz and HOPE, we are continuing this mission, turning everyday purchases into a source of hope for those in need.”
2.2 billion people around the world lack access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water is still a leading cause of illness and death among infants and children in the developing world including Pakistan. The lack of clean water also contributes to many challenges in a community. The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program is a nonprofit initiative that began in 2004. The program helps raise awareness of the water crisis and provide clean drinking water to areas without access, especially during natural disasters or emergencies, using the P&G Purifier of Water packets.
The P&G Purifier of Water technology enables people anywhere in the world to purify dirty water in a simple, affordable and convenient way. A 4-gram packet, invented by P&G scientists in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, can transform dirty water to clean, drinkable water in only 30 minutes with just a bucket, a spoon and a cloth.

A fact-finding committee formed by the Sindh Assembly has completed its investigation into the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) XI exam results. The report exposes major flaws in assessment, record-keeping, and mark sheets. Based on these findings, the committee has suggested that Intermediate students get grace marks.
Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, who heads the committee, said the board treated students unfairly. He claimed that Karachi’s education boards, both matric and intermediate boards, have been involved in malpractice for the past eight years. He stressed that this must stop immediately.
Speaking to journalists at the Sindh Assembly, Shah shared details of the inquiry, which was led by Dr Sarosh Lodhi, Vice-Chancellor of NED University. He said the investigation found serious mismanagement in the board’s operations. “The committee has the power to hold those responsible accountable. We will take action according to the rules,” he added.
He reassured students that they would not suffer due to the board’s negligence. After discussions, the committee proposed Intermediate students to get grace marks—15% in Physics, 20% in Chemistry and 15% in Mathematics. Shah also highlighted the urgent need for reforms in the education board system.
He stressed the importance of creating a centralised system to oversee board operations. Expressing concern, he said the Karachi Intermediate Board had turned into a mafia, manipulating results and harming students’ futures. Compared to other education boards, Karachi’s results were significantly worse, with Intermediate students getting grace marks due to the board’s negligence, affecting its credibility.
Shah assured that all committee recommendations would be presented to the Chief Minister. He vowed to bring reforms that would ensure transparency and fairness in the education system.

Is Qarz e Jaan ChangiIs Qarz e Jaan Changing the Pakistani TV Industry?
Some dramas land with a thud; others creep up quietly and make an impact. Qarz e Jaan falls in the latter category. The Hum TV serial, which flew low on our radar at first, has now emerged as the season’s biggest surprise hit. Starring Usama Khan and Yumna Zaidi, the slow-burning drama and layered plot have enthralled viewers, showing that good content always makes its way through.
Is ‘Qarz e Jaan’ Changing the Pakistani TV Industry?
A Story that Hits Hard
At the center of Qarz e Jaan is Nashwa (Yumna Zaidi), a young attorney brought up by a single mother, Bisma (Tazeen Hussain), in a strongly patriarchal family. The towering Barkat Villa, which belongs to Nashwa’s brutal uncle Bakhtiar (Deepak Perwani) and her self-righteous grandmother (Sakina Samo), conceals years of secrets and repression. Nashwa and her mother are painfully conscious of these hidden truths, but they say nothing—until Nashwa decides to take a stand.
In an effort to gain the release of her mother, she makes a bittersweet offering. She compromises by marrying her hot-headed cousin Ammar Bakhtiar (Nameer Khan), a gentleman with a problematic history. It compels her to keep a lid on her love for Burhan (Usama Khan), a virtuous lawyer who stays by her side. The stakes are high, and each episode is a nerve-wracking experience.
Strong Performances and Bold Direction
Director Saqib Khan takes a cinematic style uncommon for Pakistani television dramas in Qarz e Jaan. Handheld shots and soft lighting add to the show’s gritty, confessional tone. Each scene, particularly scenes between Nashwa and Bisma, has an emotional intensity that remains long after the episode has ended.
Is ‘Qarz e Jaan’ Changing the Pakistani TV Industry?
Yumna Zaidi gives another excellent performance, capturing Nashwa’s strength and vulnerability in detail. Tazeen Hussain lends silent determination to Bisma, so her character’s pain feels that much more personal. Deepak Perwani is frightening as the cruel patriarch, and Usama Khan infuses Burhan with elegance, a character that would otherwise have felt two-dimensional.
It is Nameer Khan, however, who commands center stage. Changing from modelling on the catwalk to playing his role, he perfectly juxtaposes Ammar’s charm and malice and plays the character in a manner so loathsome and pathetic. His acting makes Qarz e Jaan worth watching.
Apart from its captivating plot, Qarz e Jaan creates a new standard for Pakistani television storytelling. Its rich characters, female protagonists and high-quality production demonstrate that indigenous dramas can be both successful commercially and praised by critics. Its sudden emergence, Qarz e Jaan is not only another TV serial—it’s a game-changer.

Rajab Butt Perfume '295' Under Fire over Peca Laws
Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has been booked under Peca Laws after releasing his perfume called “295,” referencing Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. The action invited wrath, resulting in an FIR lodged against him under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca). Religious and political factions, especially Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), had charged Butt for hurting religious feelings, which prompted prompt legal action.

The Backlash and Legal Charges
Rajab Butt, who has a massive online fan base and has previously been involved in controversies such as keeping custody of a lion cub, was severely criticised when he revealed the perfume in an since-deleted video. In it, he mentioned a past blasphemy case registered against him, comparing it to Indian singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s song “295.” Religious groups considered it an attempt to defame Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, resulting in a case being registered at Lahore’s Nishtar Colony Police Station.
Due to the delicacy of blasphemy charges in Pakistan, the case took a rapid turn. Lahore’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Faisal Kamran, confirmed that Butt would be arrested as soon as he returned from Umrah. The Pakistan Ulema Council was also approached for advice on the issue, with authorities stressing the importance of cautious discussion of religious issues to prevent public outrage.
Butt’s Public Apology from Masjid al-Haram
Under increasing pressure, Butt made a public apology while he was in Makkah for Umrah. In a video shot at Masjid al-Haram, he was seen in Ihram, reciting Darood Sharif and taking an oath of his allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He maintained that the name of his perfume was not meant to offend and urged reconsideration of the allegations.
Clutching the Quran, Rajab Butt claimed that some sections of his initial video were supposedly edited out, causing a misinterpretation of his message. He then announced the withdrawal of the perfume and apologised to Allah, the Prophet (PBUH) and the Muslim populace.

A Pattern of Controversy
This is not Butt’s first encounter with the law. He had previously pleaded guilty to possessing a lion cub illegally that was given to him on his wedding day and escaped a prison sentence by agreeing to produce awareness content about animal rights. With blasphemy and cybercrime charges now against him, his fate is unsure as he awaits legal action when he returns to Pakistan.

Farshi Shalwar, a timeless emblem of South Asian clothing since the 1970s, has made a grand comeback in the fashion corridors of 2025, and it is all the people are talking about this Eid.
Farshi Shalwar is a traditional South Asian outfit known for its elegance and royal feel. The word “Farshi” comes from the Urdu/Persian word “farsh,” which means floor, and “shalwar” refers to a loose, pleated trouser. So, Farshi Shalwar literally means a shalwar that touches the floor.
These floor-grasing pants, reminiscent of royal courts, have the ideal mix of old tradition and contemporary flair, which is perfect to get trending in today’s era. But how do you wear a farshi shalwar without tripping over its grandeur? Don’t worry! We have curated your go-to guide on the dos and don’ts of rocking a Farshi Shalwar, all while keeping your style game on point.
Do: Ensure the Length Touches the Floor
The very essence of the Farshi Shalwar lies in its name, which translates to ‘floor-touching.’ To capture its beautiful charm, the shalwar should be at a length that elegantly sweeps the floor and creates a graceful silhouette. Hence, ensure your shalwar is long enough to achieve this effect.
Ensure the Length Touches the Floor
Don’t: Pair with a Really Long Shirt
Balance is key. Wearing a long shirt with a Farshi Shalwar can overwhelm your body frame and hide the shalwar’s delicate details. And while we know the allure of a long kameez is undeniable, coupling them with a Farshi Shalwar is a big no. Opt for a shirt that falls 10 to 12 inches below the knee, and it will create that perfect balance that allows the shalwar’s beauty to shine without being eclipsed.
Don’t: Pair with a Really Long Shirt
Do: Choose Fabrics with a Natural Fall
Selecting fabric materials like pure cotton, raw silk, georgette, chiffon, or lightweight silk will ensure the garment drapes beautifully, enhancing its fluidity. For daily wear, pure cotton stands out, offering both comfort and the desired weight for an elegant fall. And raw silk can be opted for on fancier occasions.
Choose Fabrics with a Natural Fall
Don’t: Stick to Solid Colours Only
While we are seeing a lot of solid sets trending, who says tradition can’t meet modern flair? Incorporate prints, lace detailing and a vibrant mix of colours into your outfit. This fusion adds a contemporary twist to the classic simple attire, making your outfit perfectly, uniquely yours.
The foundation of any perfect outfit is a well-fitted shoulder. Ensuring the kameez sits perfectly on your shoulders provides a structured base, allowing the rest of the kameez to flow seamlessly. And while Farshi Shalwar is meant to be voluminous, it is important for it to fit around the waist and hips and for it to be comfortable yet secure. This attention to detail prevents the outfit from appearing sloppy and elevate the overall aesthetic.
The side slit, or chaak, plays an important role in the kameez’s design. Positioning it just above the knee complements the Farshi Shalwar, offering ease of movement and a pretty silhouette. For individuals with broader hips, adjusting the chaak slightly higher can provide a more flattering outfit.
Don’t: Neglect the Chaak (Side Slit) Placement
Do: Embrace Personal Style and Comfort
Fashion is a canvas for personal expression. While there are many versions of Farshi shalwar trending in different silhouettes, infusing your unique style and prioritising your own comfort ensures you wear this trending outfit with confidence. Whether experimenting with new colours, patterns or accessories, let your individuality and uniqueness shine through.
Enhance your outfit with accessories that complement it without it being too much. Delicate jewellery, such as chandelier earrings or a subtle maang tikka, can elevate your look by so much while still keeping the focus on the attire. Wearing a Farshi Shalwar isn’t just about fashion; it’s about honouring our rich cultural history. Embrace the history and tradition it represents, and wear it with pride and respect.
Don’t: Forget to Accessorise Thoughtfully
Conclusion
Farshi Shalwar is more than just attire; it’s a statement of elegance, tradition and individuality. By following these dos and don’ts, you can follow this trend with elegance and authenticity all while ensuring you look and feel your absolute best. Remember, the key lies in balancing tradition with personal style. So go ahead, let the fabric kiss the floor as you make your majestic entrance in a beautiful Farshi shalwar!

Bidding Farewell to Ramadan: Making the Most of Jumma-tul-Widah
As the holy month of Ramadan is now in its ending phase, Muslims have started preparing to bid farewell to it by preparing for Jumma-tul-Widah (the last Friday of Ramadan). This day holds deep spiritual significance. So, before Ramadan departs, let’s make the most out of this day. Who knows if we’ll get the chance next year or not?
Jumma-tul-Widah and Its Significance
Jumma-tul-Widah is not just an ordinary Friday; it is a day of heightened devotion, special prayers and deep reflection. Derived from the Arabic words Jumma (Friday) and Widah (farewell), which symbolises a solemn goodbye to Ramadan. Hence, the significance of this Friday can’t be overlooked. It’s not your typical day!
Even our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasised the importance of this Friday and called it the “best day on which the sun has risen.” Now, imagine how much more significant this day becomes when it coincides with Ramadan’s final days. Of course, the importance of this day is multiplied. It is only wise to make the most out of this day and prepare for it beforehand.
As Jumma tul Wida approaches, we must engage in preparations to make the most of this significant day. This should include physical and spiritual preparations.
Physically, it is advised to clean the homes, wear one’s best clothing and adorn ourselves with fragrances. This way we are able to show respect and reverence for the day and create a conducive environment for prayer and reflection.
On the other hand, one shall engage in introspection and self-assessment. We can reflect on our actions throughout the month of Ramadan and seek forgiveness for any shortcomings or mistakes. It is a time to repent so make a sincere commitment and use this time to reflect back.
Making the Most of Jumma-tul-Widah
In order to attain the most out of this last Friday, you can prepare and go above and beyond with certain practices like:
1. Attend the Special Jumma Prayer
Many Muslims gather in mosques for the Jumma-tul-Widah prayer and we, as believers, must try to join in these congregational prayers. The Jumma prayer also has a sermon (khutbah) which focuses on spiritual lessons, gratitude and preparing for life beyond Ramadan. Attending this prayer with sincerity can help us live the spirit of Jumma-tul-Widah to its peak.
Jumma Congregational Prayer
2. Increase in Dhikr and Dua
On this day, we should also engage in continuous dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and recite duas seeking forgiveness. The best supplications can include:
Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah)
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).
Increase in Dhikr and Dua
3. Recite and Reflect on the Quran
Ramadan is the month of the Quran, and Jumma-tul-Widah is an ideal time to complete any unfinished recitation and reflect on its meaning. Many believers strive to finish their Khatm-ul-Quran (complete recitation) on this blessed day. One must try being part of the lot and consider it a chance to focus on the remaining Quran that may not have been finished.
Recite and Reflect on the Quran
4. Give Charity and Help the Needy
The charity holds immense rewards, especially during Ramadan. Giving Sadaqah (voluntary charity) or fulfilling Zakat-ul-Fitr before Eid ensures that the blessings of the month are shared with those in need. This can help in the distribution of income and also open more doors for provision for ourselves. It’s also a very beautiful way to end Ramadan on a positive note.
Giving Zakat and Charity
5. Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness
Jumma-tul-Widah is an opportunity for sincere repentance. It is a chance to reflect on our deeds, seek forgiveness for past mistakes and make firm resolutions for a righteous life beyond Ramadan.
Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness
A Farewell, But Not an End
While Jumma-tul-Widha marks the end of Ramadan, it should not in any way signify the end of our spiritual efforts. The goal is to carry the lessons learned during Ramadan throughout the year—maintaining regular prayers, charity, patience, and gratitude.
As we bid farewell to this blessed month and make the most out of Jumma-tul-Widha, let us pray that Allah accepts our fasts, prayers and good deeds, and grants us the opportunity to witness another Ramadan in good health and faith.
