Shahnawaz Dahani is often criticized by fans for his social media comments and his over-the-top celebrations, however, this time he is under fire for fan-boying Babar Azam.

Dahani, who is playing for Markhors in the Champions One-Day Cup, was destroyed by Babar Azam in his only over in yesterday’s game.

It all went down during the 8th over of the match. Dahani, known for his pace and energy, came on to bowl his first over. It started well enough with a dot ball, but what followed was a masterclass in batting.

Babar didn’t miss out, pulling it for the fifth four of the over. Twenty runs in six balls. Dahani, shaken, was taken off after that over, never to return for the rest of the innings.

Shahnawaz Dahani’s Reaction

After the match, Shahnawaz Dahani took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account and shared the video of Babar Azam’s five boundaries, with the caption, “Just cannot stop watching this again & again. Don’t think I would be able to sleep tonight. I just cannot understand how Babar made it look so easy.”

Some fans appreciated Dahani’s sportsmanship and his willingness to admire Babar’s genius, others weren’t so kind. They questioned his ‘self-respect,’ suggesting that he was ‘fanboying’ over Babar instead of showing some competitive grit. The backlash prompted the bowler to later delete his post.

Talking about the match, despite Babar’s stellar performance in that over, his team, the Stallions, couldn’t pull off the win. Chasing 232, the team crumbled for just 105, with Babar top-scoring with 45.

Even though Babar’s efforts were in vain, his brief blitz against Dahani will be replayed over and over, much like Dahani himself has been doing on social media.

Government’s Incentives For Electric Two and Three-Wheelers

The transport sector in Pakistan could face big changes, as the country deals with environmental and economy-related problems. Bringing in Electric Vehicles (EVs) has become a main goal the government policy. This is to help emissions, lessen the country’s oil import bill, and support local industry growth. This is how Pakistan plans to kick off the EV market and move towards cleaner transportation.

Support for Developing the EV Market

High initial costs of electric vehicles are faced by implementing a handful of government incentives that are intended to boost local EV production. Notable steps include scrapping the Additional Customs Duty and Additional Sales Tax (AST) on EV imports to make them more cost-effective. Also, certain EV parts which aren’t produced locally can be imported with only 1% customs duty and no sales tax. This encourages local makers to expand the industry.

Additional Federal Excise Duty (FED) for four-wheel EVs have been discarded as well. Locally manufactured EVs with power outputs up to 50KW will be imposed just 1% sales tax. Monetary and Non-Monetary Assistance

Apart from tax benefits, Pakistan’s National Electric Vehicle Policy provides extra monetary and non-monetary incentives. Focusing on Two and Three-Wheelers

In Pakistan, the market is deep for two and three-wheelers. Over 20 million of these vehicles are in active use. Incentives for electric bikes and rickshaws are being put into policy to prompt their use. Local makers of EVs in these categories get a 1% sales tax, with Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits for parts linked to EVs allowed at 1% customs duty and sold with no sales tax.

However, as exciting as it sounds, there are some questions about the squad selections that leave room for debate.

Take wicket-keepers, for example. Pakistan is blessed with some top-quality keepers, but instead of spreading them out across teams, we see squads like Rizwan’s Markhors loaded with talent.

They have both Haseebullah Khan, a future star in all formats, and the experienced Bismillah Khan. Meanwhile, Shadab Khan’s Panthers have only Usman Khan, who’s more of a part-time wicket-keeper suited for T20 cricket.

It’s not just the wicket-keepers that stand out. The spin departments also seem off-balance. The Panthers boast a solid spin attack with Shadab Khan, Usama Mir, Mubasir Khan, and Arafat Minhas.
