Veteran actor Waseem Abbas recently spoke out against Firdous Jamal’s comment about fellow actors Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed. Firdous Jamal had criticized their acting abilities and questioned whether they should continue working due to their age. Waseem Abbas strongly disagreed, highlighting that age should not limit an actor’s career. He stated that if you must criticize their acting there is absolutely no reason to comment on their age. A factor that is not in their control.
Here’s the full interview
Waseem Abbas Defends Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed
Waseem Abbas pointed out that Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, continue to enjoy immense popularity and success. Even though they are in their mid-fifties. He argued that if these stars can keep working because the audience loves them, then there’s no reason why Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed should stop acting due to their age. Acting is not credited based on age, but rather skill set and talent.
Waseem then praised Mahira Khan for her recent performance in Maula Jatt. He shared his appreciation for her talent and beauty. Moreover, he stated that she continues to amaze and captivate audiences. He also compared Humayun Saeed to the legendary actor Marlon Brando, recognizing his vast fan following and his ability to deliver powerful performances.
Waseem Abbas’s comments are a reminder that talent and popularity are not defined by age. And that as an individual you have no right to comment on factors that are not in control. Actors like Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed have proven their abilities time and again, and their fans continue to support them.
Age should not be a barrier in the entertainment industry, and Waseem Abbas’s defense of his fellow actors highlights the importance of valuing talent and experience over age

Indus Motor Company Ltd ( IMCL ) is a well-known car maker in Pakistan which manufactures Toyota cars. IMCL has also taken that small additional step and Rs1.1 billion (~$3.94 million) of extra investment into localizing production of its vehicles in order for more of what you buy to be locally made. The company’s move is part of a general recognition by the local automobile industry to ease the strain on imported vehicles, so as also reduce the outflow of foreign exchange particularly in face of economic pressures.
Building on Previous Investments
This is an extension of the company’s earlier commitment made on February 6th, 2004: Indus Motor pledged Rs.3 billion towards localizing parts for their current range of vehicles. When the new Rs1.1 billion is added to that total Rs 4.1 billion has now gone into this localization project-which shows a clear determination on the part of Indus Motors not to let up in their efforts on this front.
The company’s plan involves substantial expenditure on plant and machinery, molds, dies, equipment and other related costs to support the localization of parts. In making this large-scale investment in local production capacities, Indus Motor aims at resultant employment for others here at home in Pakistan, supporting the local supply chain and making a contribution towards general economic stability throughout Pakistan.
Addressing Economic and Industry Challenges
The gravity of the company’s moves in this area cannot be overstated. Pakistan’s auto sector is now suffering from a triple whammy: ahead of an expected slowdown in economic growth this year, increased prices in recent months have also depressed demand for cars built outside our borders. And at the same time, ever-larger quantities of resources are being exported to pay for these imports-via a dollar which looks likely to continue its fall as long as we have a foreign exchange deficit as large and persistent this one.
Indus Motor’s earlier efforts in localization were rewarded by the successful introduction of the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Corolla Cross, which had a 50% local content ratio. This was an important landmark set by the Corolla Cross-making it a unique example among hybrids available in Pakistan today made with mostly imported parts.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for 2026
As they push ahead with this new investment, the company is confident that it will complete the project by the first quarter of 2026. This initiative is bound to have a lasting impact on Pakistan’s local automobile industry, one that will set an example for others to follow by entering into the local production of vehicle components.
In its continuing commitment to localization, Indus Motor demonstrates its resilience in the face of economic hardship, and reaffirms its role as a leading light in the sustainable development of Pakistan’s auto industry.

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s cricketing maestro, has been under fire lately, especially after a string of low scores in the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. As the pressure mounts, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has some advice for the star batter—stay away from social media.
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Speaks, Raja didn’t hold back in discussing the intense scrutiny Babar faces every time Pakistan falters. “It seems the entire nation does not have a problem with anything except the form of Babar Azam,” Raja observed.
A Harsh Reality
Raja highlighted a harsh reality: when Pakistan loses a match and Babar doesn’t deliver, the focus shifts almost entirely onto him. It’s as if the entire country zeroes in on the top-order batter, questioning his form, his contribution, and even his future.
“In this era of social media, anybody can criticize and ridicule anyone,” Raja said, urging that such negativity should be discouraged. The former PCB chairman is clearly concerned about the toll this online pressure could take on Babar.
Ramiz Raja’s comments underscore a broader issue—Pakistan’s deep emotional connection with cricket. “Cricket is in our blood,” he stated, but warned that this passion might wane if the team continues to struggle, particularly in Test cricket.
He pointed out that fan loyalty is often tied to success. When the team wins, fans rally behind them. But when losses pile up, the criticism becomes harsh and personal, especially for someone like Babar Azam, who has long been the poster boy for Pakistan cricket.
Success Story of Babar Azam
Despite the recent slump, Raja didn’t forget to acknowledge Babar’s incredible journey. “Babar Azam has had a famous success story. There is no doubt that he has been a big player in all three formats,” Raja noted.
Indeed, Babar’s rise to fame has been nothing short of remarkable. But with great success comes great scrutiny, and in the age of social media, that scrutiny can be relentless.
Ramiz Raja’s advice to Babar Azam is simple but crucial—avoid the noise. Social media can be a double-edged sword, offering support on one hand and relentless criticism on the other.

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt recently shared his thoughts on why Babar Azam is facing such intense criticism, offering a perspective that sheds light on the challenges the star batter is currently grappling with.
The Weight of Expectations
According to Salman Butt, the root of the issue lies in Babar’s consistency. Yes, you read that right—his consistency. Babar has been Pakistan’s go-to guy for years, churning out runs like a machine. But this very consistency has now turned into a double-edged sword.
“There are two reasons why Babar is facing so much heat,” Butt explained in an interview with a local sports channel.
“No doubt, he is currently Pakistan’s best batter and, I think, the most consistent player of the decade. But the problem is that when a player struggled earlier, they were more out of form than Babar.”
Butt’s point is clear: Babar has set the bar so high that any dip in his performance feels like a massive letdown. And with no one else stepping up to match his level, the spotlight on Babar only intensifies.
Salman Butt also highlighted a critical issue in Pakistan’s cricket setup: the over-reliance on Babar Azam.
“Now the problem is that Babar has scored so much, then he is the only one who scores most of the runs for Pakistan. There is no one with him who can match him,” he added. It’s a harsh reality. On days when Babar doesn’t score big, Pakistan’s chances of winning plummet.
The Missing Ingredient: Player Development
So, what’s the solution? According to Butt, it’s all about player development—or the lack thereof. He argues that Pakistan’s focus on power-hitting and aggressive play has come at a cost: the absence of technically sound players who can anchor an innings when Babar fails to deliver.
“You tried to develop everyone on the basis of power-hitting, the basis of playing openly. And now you don’t have players with the right techniques,” Butt lamented.
This is a glaring issue, especially in the longer formats of the game, where technique and temperament are crucial.
Babar’s recent form hasn’t helped his case. In the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh, he has returned with scores of 0, 22, 31, and 11. These numbers are far from what fans have come to expect from their star player. To make matters worse, he hasn’t scored a fifty in his last 15 Test innings.
The road ahead for Babar Azam is undoubtedly challenging. The pressure is mounting, and the criticism is getting louder. But as Salman Butt’s insights suggest, the problem isn’t just with Babar—it’s with the system that has failed to produce other match-winning players.

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s cricketing superstar, is facing more than just criticism for his recent dip in form. His captaincy in white-ball cricket is under intense scrutiny following Pakistan’s early exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
But the challenges for Babar seem to run deeper, as former chief selector Mohammad Wasim recently shed light on his experiences working with the star batter, revealing a side of Babar that many fans might not know.
Babar Azam – A Stubborn Leader?
In an interview with a local sports platform, Wasim didn’t hold back when talking about the difficulties he faced while trying to navigate Pakistan’s cricketing ship. According to him, Babar was often “very stubborn” and resistant to the changes the selection committee recommended.
“It was painful to make him understand the advantages of changes. He was very stubborn, and I overstepped my limitations to get him on board with certain calls. He was not ready to accept changes,” Wasim shared.
These revelations come at a time when Babar’s role as the white-ball captain is being questioned. His leadership, once hailed as promising, is now being dissected after the team’s disappointing World Cup campaign.
For a captain, being flexible and open to changes is crucial, but Wasim’s words suggest that Babar Azam might have struggled in this area, potentially contributing to the team’s underwhelming performance.
The Imad Wasim Controversy
Wasim’s candidness didn’t stop with Babar. He also called out all-rounder Imad Wasim, accusing him of hiding a knee injury during the World Cup. According to Wasim, Imad’s fitness has been a lingering issue, one that the player has allegedly been concealing for years.
“Imad has a knee injury, but he has been hiding it for years. We always speak about Azam Khan’s fitness levels, but Imad is also suffering from the same problem. He was dropped from the side for that same reason, and I also dropped him during my tenure so that he could work on his fitness,” Wasim explained.
Fitness has always been a touchy subject in Pakistan cricket, with several players coming under the scanner for not meeting the required standards. Imad’s case seems to be another chapter in this ongoing saga, raising questions about transparency and accountability within the team.
Perhaps the most startling revelation from Wasim was about a group of players he claims are a “cancer” to the team. Without naming names, he mentioned that four coaches identified this group as detrimental to Pakistan’s chances of success.
“I will not take names, but four coaches said that a group of players is cancer to the team. If they are part of the squad, Pakistan can’t win. I tried to remove them from the team, but the team management recalled them,” Wasim stated.
These are strong words, and they paint a worrying picture of the internal dynamics within the Pakistan cricket team. If true, it suggests that the issues go beyond just form and fitness; they hint at a toxic environment that could be undermining the team’s potential.
With these revelations coming to light, the pressure on Babar Azam and the Pakistan cricket team is only going to increase. For Babar, the challenge will be to prove his critics wrong.

Nvidia is a multinational American tech company. It is a software company that processes graphics and develops languages that act like interfaces of hardware. Recently, Nvidia’s stock has been skyrocketing, making many of its employees very wealthy. Since 2019, the company’s shares have jumped over 3,000%, turning some workers into millionaires. But despite their wealth, many employees find themselves stuck in a demanding and often stressful work environment. Which given the money they make, is not that big of a problem.
Some employees work long hours, sometimes seven days a week, and often stay late into the night. One former worker mentioned ending his workday at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. regularly. The pressure is intense, and there are even reports of yelling during meetings. This kind of stress is common in departments like engineering and marketing.
The CEO of this steller software house, Jensen Huang, admits working at the company is tough. His personal belief is that achieving great things shouldn’t be easy. However, despite the challenges, most employees choose to stay at Nvidia. The company has a very low turnover rate. Only 2.7% of employees left in 2023, compared to the industry’s average of 17.7%. Indicating that the tough work environment isn’t that big of a problem for those working there.
One of the biggest reasons why employees stay is the potential for their stock grants to grow. Nvidia offers an employee stock purchase plan where workers can buy company shares at a discount. Holding onto these shares can lead to huge financial rewards, so many employees are willing to put up with the demanding work culture to secure their future.
So even though working at Nvidia is demanding and tough, the financial awards are so significant that all employees choose to bear with the conditions.

In Pakistan, Japanese cars, particularly those with 660cc engines, are very popular. The practicality and efficiency of 660cc vehicles are something else. While some people think that these are trendy, others really appreciate their down-to-earthness and usefulness.
If you’re undecisive about whether to buy a 660cc car, there are five pieces of solid evidence that should help make up your mind
1. Advanced Safety Features
660cc cars have an outstanding array of safety equipment. Because of Japan’s strict regulations, all even the lowest range models come with twin front airbags and ABS technology. Advanced models may also provide additional safety items such as Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control or airbags for up to six positions. In Pakistan, those vehicles made locally often lack that level of shielding– so 660cc cars are a much safer choice even though they are small in size.
2. Cutting-Edge Technology
For in-car technology, 660cc cars regularly give a good account of themselves. Even when compared to higher-range local models such as the Corolla Altis Grande and Civic 1.8 VTi Oriel, the Kei cars from companies like Daihatsu and Honda can hold their own in style. For example, Daihatsu’s Cast and Honda N-WGN come with Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Braking Assist, Blind Spot Information System– even 360 Surround Camera View. All these things are often missing from models manufactured locally for Pakistan, and their absence in 660cc cars of comparable price makes them a modern choice.
3. Exceptional Fuel Economy
As fuel prices continue to soar, the economy of 660cc cars becomes even more attractive. Designed from the outset for thriftiness, such cars typically sip fuel at between 20-25 km/l–a figure which larger-engined vehicles cannot match. With the rising cost of running a car today, to and from work, from fuel to tax disc and then on up maintenance bills over time, 660cc cars offer a reasonable solution both function-wise as well as for modest purse. They also are capable of comfortably transporting four adults, which 1-litre cars cannot do.
4. Great Value for Money
Some say that Japanese 660cc cars are priced higher than locally produced 1000cc vehicles. Nevertheless, their value is beyond dispute. These vehicles are better to drive, safer and feature more advanced technology Nevertheless than is available in cars manufactured here. Unlike locally made vehicles of the same price ranges, 660cc models include a level of overall quality and detail which they do not overlook: purchasers receive better than what they actually pay for!
5. Superior Build Quality
Japanese craftsmanship is celebrated for its meticulous attention to detail, and 660cc cars are no exception. The iPhone 16 lineup is being marketed as the first AI-centric iPhones, yet the specifications reveal a more cautious approach. Though Apple is saying that generative AI will shape our future, the iPhone 16 series may be no more than a tiny proportion of this future.
iPhone 16’s AI Capabilities
Under the hood, the current iPhone 16 series boasts 8 GB of RAM across the board, a modest bump from last year’s 6. Apple, however, has been strangely silent over whether this increase will suffice for more demanding on-device AI tasks. The A18 chip, the powerhouse behind Apple’s fresh iPhones, is tailor-made for generative AI tasks. Yet the small memory could limit the scope of AI activities that these devices can perform. For anyone looking forward to an AI experience entirely free from seams and greatly futurist, the iPhone 16 might not quite satisfy them.
Leaked details about Apple’s AI plans for the iPhone 17 suggest a stronger viewpoint. With all models possibly featuring 12 GB of RAM, the iPhone 17 may handle more complicated AI routines directly right on your device itself and not be obliged just to rely on cloud processing. This would not only help privacy-No. 1 selling point of Apple’s —– but might also speed up computational efficiency and AI response of these tasks.
However, these machines are still a year away, leaving the iPhone 16 in an uncomfortable position.
A Transitional Device in the AI Evolution
The iPhone 16’s AI capabilities are further confused by anticipation of a release of Apple Intelligence software in Q1 2025. This software is likely to require more memory than the iPhone 16 and not until the iPhone 17 comes along in its turn can users expect the full benefits of Apple’s AI venture to begin arriving. As a result, those who invest in the iPhone 16 could find themselves trapped more rapidly than expected, especially since AI is such a rapidly moving field.
So, although Apple’s advertisement pitches the iPhone 16 series as the beginning of its movement into AI, it’s possible that what is actually produced may fall short. Itis with the iPhone 17 where Apple’s real test—to deliver the hardware for all-out acceptance of AI—will be held. The iPhone 16 series as such, may be simply a stop-over in transit.

Big changes are coming to one of Pakistan’s most iconic cricket venues, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. In a landmark deal, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully sold the naming rights of the stadium to the Bank of Punjab for a whopping Rs1 billion.
This five-year agreement isn’t just about a name change; it signals a significant shift in how Pakistan is monetizing its cricketing assets.
A Record-Breaking Deal
This deal is more than just a number. For context, the PCB had previously secured Rs450 million for the naming rights of National Stadium Karachi, now known as National Bank Cricket Arena. That deal, signed during Ramiz Raja’s tenure, seemed substantial at the time.
However, under the new administration led by Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB has more than doubled that figure, securing a five-year deal for Gaddafi Stadium worth Rs1 billion. It’s clear that the PCB is raising the bar when it comes to leveraging its assets.
This move isn’t just about the money—though that certainly helps. The PCB is in the midst of preparing for the Champions Trophy, and billions are being invested in upgrading stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
With these extensive renovations underway, the PCB is wisely looking to offset some of these costs through strategic agreements like this naming rights deal.
The name “Gaddafi Stadium” will soon be a part of history, as the venue adopts a new name reflecting its corporate sponsor, just like National Stadium Karachi did. While some fans might feel nostalgic about the old name, this change represents a growing trend in global sports.
Naming sports venues after sponsors is common practice, with cricket grounds in Australia and England leading the way. It’s a smart move that significantly boosts revenue streams.

In a move that has left fans and critics alike scratching their heads, pace bowler Shaheen Afridi was dropped from Pakistan’s lineup for the second Test against Bangladesh. The decision came on the heels of Pakistan’s first-ever Test loss to Bangladesh, where Shaheen managed to take only two wickets, drawing sharp criticism for his performance.
But was this really about performance, or is there more to the story?
The Official Reason: A Strategic Decision
Pakistan’s Test head coach, Jason Gillespie, was quick to clarify the reasoning behind Shaheen’s exclusion, framing it as a strategic choice rather than a punishment. “I had a good conversation with him [Shaheen Afridi], and he fully understands and appreciates the reasoning behind this decision,” Gillespie said.
“We’re looking for the best combination for this game, and this is our direction.” Gillespie also hinted that Shaheen needed to work on certain aspects of his bowling, acknowledging that the young pacer had received feedback and was aware of the areas needing improvement.
He added that the break would allow Shaheen to spend some quality time with his family, especially since he recently became a father.
On the surface, it seems like a reasonable explanation. Shaheen’s form in Test cricket has indeed been a concern, with his recent performances falling short of the high standards he set earlier in his career.
In pace-friendly conditions during the Australia tour, Shaheen averaged over 41, and his showing in the first Test against Bangladesh was forgettable, taking two lower-order wickets for 96 runs.
However, the situation might not be as straightforward as it seems. According to sources close to the team, Shaheen Afridi was left heartbroken and in shock after being informed of his exclusion. The young pacer, who sacrificed lucrative league contracts to remain available for Test cricket, was reportedly disillusioned by the decision.
Adding fuel to the fire, it’s been suggested that a member of the national team management played a key role in Shaheen’s exclusion, despite the fact that none of the players performed well in the first Test.
Shaheen, it appears, was unfairly singled out, leaving him visibly unhappy and questioning his place in the team. His career has been marked by highs and lows, and this latest chapter is undoubtedly one of the more challenging ones.
His pace, once regularly in the mid-140 kph range, has dipped since his injury last year, and his form in Test cricket has been inconsistent at best. But for a player of Shaheen’s caliber, the question remains: Is dropping him the best way to handle this slump, or is there a better approach?
Gillespie’s comments suggest that the decision was made with Shaheen’s best interests in mind, but the emotional toll on the player cannot be ignored. Cricket is as much a mental game as it is a physical one, and the impact of such decisions can be lasting.
