Jonny Bairstow has been a mainstay in England’s white-ball cricket for over 5 years now after being in and out of the team, however, his place in test cricket has always been questioned. Although he showed glimpses of what he is capable of in test cricket, he failed to cement himself as a regular member.
He dominated the limited-overs cricket while struggling in the longer format to an extent where critics start calling him a white ball specialist only. Bairstow averaged less than 20 in test cricket in 2019. He was subsequently dropped and did not play a single test in 2020. He was recalled in 2021 and scored a gutsy knock of 57 against India at Lord’s. He was in the squad for Ashes 2021-2022, but could not get into playing XI until the third test.
Bairstow concluded 2021 without a Test century since 2018 and an average of 21.32 from his previous 19 Tests. However, the New Year saw the Second Coming of Bairstow in test cricket, as he scored England’s only century of the forgettable Ashes series, in the fourth test and helped draw the test. He later scored another century at Antigua against West Indies, which further solidified his place.
Many cricket pundits considered those innings flukes, but the best was yet to come. Brendon McCullum took over as England’s test cricket coach, while Ben Stokes was handed captaincy. This new management has helped awaken the best mode of Jonny Bairstow. He totally dominated New Zealand bowlers and produced two of the all-time classic test innings, one of which helped England chase 299 runs in 50 overs.
His hunger didn’t end there, as he continued his excellent run of form against India at Birmingham in the ongoing test match. He scored a hundred in the first innings and is en route to another hundred, while I am writing this, he is 72 not-out at the end of day 4. The stage is set for another Bairstow hundred. If he manages to score a hundred in this innings, he will be tied with Denis Compton, Michael Vaughan, and Joe Root, for scoring the most Test centuries by English batters in a calendar year. He is all set to break the record too, considering his current form and England’s test schedule.
Bairstow’s sudden rise also places him among the best all-format batters in the world, along with Babar Azam. David Warner’s recent test performances and Rohit Sharma’s injury vows further help Bairstow’s claim to the pinnacle of all-format batting.
Bairstow has dominated the white-ball cricket with his swashbuckling strokes across all parts of the ground, and his application of the same has borne him fruits in test cricket too. He is the personification of McCullum’s approach toward test cricket. With his current form and self-confidence, the sky is the limit for him.
The price of roti has gone up from Rs12 to Rs15 apiece in my neighbourhood. That’s a 25 per cent increase within a month. The price of a can of potable water has risen from Rs80 to Rs100, which shows a 25pc monthly increase. The per-page photocopy cost is now Rs5 instead of Rs3, showing a 66pc increase in just one month. The price of a haircut at the barbershop in my middle-class area went up last month to Rs200 from Rs150, reflecting a hike of 33pc.
What’s going on?
Economists call it inflation. For normal people, it’s a sharp decrease in the purchasing power of their money. It’s the worst kind of ‘tax’: the prices of everyday items are increasing at a far more rapid pace than their incomes.
The mental agony it’s causing is more hurtful. It’s getting difficult to put food on the table for even those people who earned enough income until now to make ends meet rather comfortably. A lot of parents I personally know have pulled their kids out of school in order to save the two-month tuition fees. Perhaps they think they’ll be able to afford the education of their kids when schools reopen in August after the summer break. Chances are that education will become more expensive by then. Inflation is just picking up the pace, and it’s likely to get a lot worse.
Going by official statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the consumer price index (CPI) rose 21.3pc on a year-on-year basis in June. The estimate sounds understated if you’re the one buying groceries and paying bills in your household. But for the sake of this piece, let’s stick to official numbers, which are horrifying in their own right.
Transport expenses alone went up more than 62pc on a year-on-year basis in June. Food became dearer by almost 26pc. The increase in the prices of perishable food items was more than 36pc. A lot of the increase in food prices usually originates from the rising cost of transportation. It’s safe to assume that the full impact of the fuel price hike hasn’t been passed on to consumers yet. So brace yourselves for another month of an unusual surge in food prices.
The 21.3pc year-on-year increase in the CPI, which is the most commonly used measure of inflation, has been the highest since December 2008 — the period when the world economy was in the throes of the Great Recession.
On a month-on-month basis, the increase in the CPI was 6.3pc, a multi-decade high. What happened in June? That was the month the new coalition government relented before the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and allowed electricity and retail fuel prices to go up by 52pc and 37pc, respectively.

Inflation is a worldwide phenomenon. Energy-exporting Russia invaded food-producing Ukraine in February this year and caused unprecedented disruption to the global energy and food supply chains. The supply chain shock caught everyone by surprise. But not every country has reacted like the proverbial deer caught in the headlights. Sure, no country can predict the unpredictable. But preparing for a so-called Black Swan – an unpredictable economic event with severe consequences – is very much possible.
Countries with intelligent leadership build buffers, plan contingencies and maintain a war chest to survive through unanticipated events like these. Have we been preparing for such an eventuality? Not at all. In fact, it may surprise you to learn that 24 million out of the total 30 million consumer connections in Pakistan were receiving electricity at subsidised rates until recently, according to former central bank governor Dr Ishrat Husain. In other words, every eight of 10 electricity connections received subsidies regardless of whether they deserved it or not.
Doling out untargeted subsidies in good times always results in forced belt-tightening in bad times. We built no buffers when we could spare the resources. Now we find ourselves in the middle of global inflationary pressures and a commodities super-cycle with no cushion for contingencies.
It’s times like these when governments usually opt for heavily subsidising the poor. They launch temporary work schemes so that people can earn enough money to sustain themselves in a dignified manner. They expand welfare programmes to take care of the weak segments of society. However, the government is working in the exactly opposite direction. It’s scaling down schemes like Sehat Card. It’s eliminating all subsidies on electricity consumption. It’s imposing more and more taxes on businesses and individuals.
Of course, the government is doing so at the behest of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is extending a $6 billion loan to help Pakistan override its severe balance-of-payments crisis. But the result is the trampling of the micro by the macro. Economic indicators may see an improvement under IMF-directed belt-tightening, but only at the cost of hundreds of thousands of people who are slipping into the poverty trap every month.
The government must act now to mitigate the severe impact of inflation on the general public. The first step should be a renegotiation of a renewed loan programme with the IMF, which isn’t front-loaded. This means the negotiators should seek funds from the IMF in the immediate term but promise fiscal reforms after the commodities super-cycle is over. This will give the government some space to lessen the impact of high inflation through targeted subsidies.
In the medium-to-long term, however, the government should try to build a stronger, robust economy that can withstand systemic shocks like the global pandemic and commodities super-cycle.

Smart manufacturing refers to this cluster of technological improvements. We’ve seen an array of ways food and beverage manufacturing can benefit — and there are many different points of entry. Because smart manufacturing relies on digital technologies to create efficiencies and flexibilities in machinery, data, supply chain, personnel and more, a brand can focus on solving any one of many pain points.
Digital technology has revolutionized manufacturing and ushered in a myriad of changes that boost efficiency as well as growth. The processes and technology are customizable, empowering every brand to create a roadmap for achieving its business goals.
Smart Manufacturing – Smart Solutions
Smart Manufacturing systems use open interoperable APIs allowing manufacturers to quickly change equipment, process flow, product configuration, labels, as well as packaging. A smart factory uses modular solutions and systems that can easily help to scale up or down production. Meanwhile, introduce new products, create one-off production runs, or create high-mix manufacturing opportunities. This agility makes the organization adaptable to changing demand and more resilient to handle market disruptions.
IoT services can help design energy and CO2 emission to enhance services in the manufacturing process while addressing the complex energy consumptions.
Greentelligent manufacturing can leverage carbon emission as an ingredient to design the entire supply chain. From a consumer viewpoint, producers are not actively working to reduce emissions. While consumers, instead, should assume responsibility for choosing the best strategies and policies by showing a preference for eco-friendly producers. IoT techniques and digital supply chain connect the entire supply chain, from raw material suppliers to customers and pricing the products considering the environmental costs to morph the market dynamically. Other pricing strategies to encourage greener development are carbon taxes and emissions trading systems (ETS).
Smart Manufacturing is good for the environment by reducing the waste of resources and energy consumption. Energy is directly utilized as processes are optimized based on energy usage insights. As well as, it is indirectly reserved as a waste of resources is reduced by reducing defects, scrap, and overproduction of inventory in a more efficient supply chain.
While some energy requires renewable sources, many still utilize fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum). Reducing energy consumption reduces carbon emissions for a healthier planet and improves quality of life.

The monsoon season is a tough time for individuals who live in developing countries that face many issues from time to time.
This year, Karachiites faced the wrath of nature as heavy rainfall flooded the streets of the city. Water not only overflowed on the roads but made its way into households as well.
That’s not all, automotive owners who had their cars parked in the open or on the roads have also suffered from massive damage. The expected cost for repairs is likely to be at Rs. 80,000 for some owners!
Unfortunately, not everyone has that kind of money lying around. This is why today we will give you some constructive tips on how you can rain-proof your ride! These tips and techniques are light on the pockets and are a quick-fix to your troubles.
5 Clever Ways To Rain Proof Your Car!
1. Rainproof Film
Are you tired of having wet side mirrors? Side mirrors are essential when it comes to driving your car. However, wet ones are very tricky to operate with. The most simple hack you can go with is rainproof films!
Simply purchase the film, apply it on your side mirrors, and voila! You can now drive in the rain without having to worry about your vision.
2. Park Indoors Or Under Shelter
Parking indoors is a bonus for you, its understandable for some this is not an option though. If you have a garage or a place where you can park indoors, utilize it. This prevents your car from being exposed to rainwater, bird droppings, and other natural and accidental causes. If you don’t have the option, try to park under shade or use covers.
3. Check Rubber Seals
The rubber seals that run along with your car’s doors and other parts of the body act like guards. These seals keep out water, dust, debris, and other harmful things from getting inside. However, slamming doors shut and not properly taking care of the car can result in worn-out rubber.
This can lead to rainwater leaking inside the car, eventually causing the car to smell and suffer from other damages which can require a lot of money. Be sure to check on your car before you decide that it’s probably fine. It’s always a great idea to get everything checked beforehand when the weather department announced the chances of rain.
Yes, there is such a thing as a rain repellent for cars! The liquid creates a slippery surface so that the rain droplets drop downwards instead of staying on the windshield and windows of the car. This helps the driver’s visibility and gives them a safe ride back home. Be sure to read the instructions before you start to apply it on your own.
5. Body Covers
One of the most commonly known facts about cars is that they rust if not taken care of. Water, when left on a metal surface causes rusting. And when a car rusts, it has no to little value, and causes extensive issues and not to forget costs a lot of money to fix. Hence, covering the body of the car will prevent maximum exposure of water to the surface, protecting it from rust.
Summer days seem perfect during cold nights of winters. However, when the season actually comes upon us do we realise how sticky and humid summer actually is. It’s not bearable right? If you’re looking to make it more bearable with air coolers, we’ve got your back.
Here are the best coolers available in Pakistan that are also affordable.
1. Room Cooler
We have all pretty much grown up with room coolers. They can air condition a room even better than an air conditioner! However, today they come a little different with better technology and greater controls.
In Pakistan, a room cooler can be bought for approximately Rs.15,000.
2. Desert Cooler
Desert Cooler is a larger counterpart of the room cooler. This is the appliance to set in dining rooms and halls. It’s fit for much bigger rooms where you tend to host more people.
If you haven’t noticed, ACs stop working when too many people gather in a room. With the proper ventilation, this desert cooler will ensure cold temperatures even with a crowd.
A Desert cooler starts from as low as Rs. 25,000 in Pakistan.
3. Air Coolers with Remote Control
The air coolers we are accustomed to coming with a switch. Plug it in and enjoy and when you’re done, just turn the switch off. However, modern technology has created air coolers that come with remote controls.
Though there is only minimal difference said coolers have in terms of cooling, they are more convenient. Hence, they are priced accordingly too, starting at Rs.30,000.
4. Personal Coolers
The name is self-explanatory— personal coolers are small cooling appliances best for one person. These are usually preferred by students living in dorms or for kitchens etc where putting ACs is not viable.
A personal cooler starts from Rs.10,000 in Pakistan.
5. Portable Air Cooler
To provide you with the best cooling experience, it has 4 pre-programmed cooling modes and 3 fan speeds that you can select. It’s safer than a conventional air cooler because no blades are involved. On top of that, it needs quite less space on the floor and does not make any unnecessary noise.
6. Comfyhome
Comfyhome has a 3-in-1 evaporative air cooler from Comfyhome that has a mass airflow of 455CFM and an effective cooling area of 170sq.ft. Its total tank capacity is of 2 gallons which makes it an excellent investment.

Sana Safinaz is a household name in Pakistan and they have started expanding their creative philosophy into many departments recently. They just released their latest collection of footwear and while the shoes are covetable, the way they are displayed is so not. One particular picture from the campaign has caught the eyes of many and is receiving some backlash. Keep reading to find out why!
This picture shows one leg hanging with one of the new designs on the foot. The strange part is that what is being implied is that the model has thrust its leg through the wall, broken it, and is now hanging like that. Have a look:
This looks like something out of a horror movie. There have been so many scenes where someone is hiding somewhere and the villain or the supernatural spirit puts their hands or leg through the wall like that. It also looks like an ad for a fight challenge— intimidating you. At the same time, this also looks like an ad for prosthetics maybe – that if you lose your leg, like this, we can help! What it definitely does not look like, is an ad for beautiful shoes.
What Are People Saying?
People started roasting the campaign since this picture first came out. The comments are littered with laughing emojis, shocked emojis, and also confused ones. People are asking Sana Safinaz what they wanted to do and how did they land in this picture to fulfill their mission of advertising good shoes. Many are also making fun of how this looks like something out of a horror film.
Have a look at the comments:
And this:
Do Brands Need Better Art Direction?
It appears that as there has been one failure after another when it comes to campaigns, Pakistani brands need better art direction. Right now everybody is in a race to produce the most aesthetically pleasing and obscure campaign. They’re trying to channel modern campaigns seen internationally. However, the end result is this, a concept that is not even understood by themselves and seems even more strange to the audience.
Sana Safinaz has got what it takes to be in the game. After all, the shoe is beautiful. Hopefully, they can have an art direction that meets their own level rather than bringing them down.

We all have been affected by the unwanted calls and texts that bother us at odd hours while busy with our chores or infiltrate our inboxes with marketing and promotions. Though it does not bother you at first, it becomes a hassle once you start receiving those calls and messages too often.
How To Stop Those Unwanted Texts and Calls?
Fortunately, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has come up with a solution for all the cellphone users who want to opt-out of the marketing and advertisements sent to cellphone users via calls or messages.
If you are one of those people whose phone is not comfortable being approached via calls or texts with the intention of telemarketing and other purposes, you need to follow the following steps.
Block Telemarketing Communication:
As per instructions published by the PTA, cellphone users who want to block telemarketing need to register themselves on the Do Not Call Register (DNCR), which can be done by doing the following;
Message ‘reg’ to 3267
If you still receive telemarketing messages even after registering to the DNCR, call your service provider.
Block Spamming/Unsolicited Communication:
If someone is bothering you via texts or calls through spamming, you can block that specific number by typing the cell number you are being bothered from, followed by the text you have repeatedly received and sent to 9000.
Block Obnoxious/Unknown Calls and Messages:
If you feel your number has been misused and someone is bothering you by texting or calling, you can also block them by following these steps.
For Zong Users:
Dial 420 and follow the instructions
For Jazz, Telenor and Ufone Users:
Dial *420#
Source and Legitimacy Of These Instructions:
It is recommended not to follow everything you read on the internet unless you have verified the information. Luckily, we, too, have verified this information from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), who also shares this information every once in a while on its social media and the official website.
The Pakistani consumers have been bothered a lot by the telemarketing and unwanted texts and calls, especially those that intend to sell something. Luckily our concerns were heard and addressed by the authority. Despite that, many people are not aware that they can choose to opt-out, and therefore we compiled all these instructions to help you and your loved ones out.

Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is the largest producer and exporter of rickshaws in Pakistan but its latest collaboration and joint effort with Great Wall Motors of China is about to change the automobile industry in Pakistan. Sazgar has just announced the completion of manufacturing facilities for two excellent cars, are you excited to know which?
The rickshaw manufacturer just announced in a notice to PSX, Pakistan Stock Exchange, that it has completed manufacturing facilities for Haval and Jolion. These two cars are the SUV models of Great Wall Motors. They were previously imported from China but the recent completion of facilities means they will be now assembled locally too.
The trial operation will commence exactly 10 days from now, on July 15th. It is said that the first trial will be for Haval and then Jolion will be brought into the assembly.
Will This Make A Difference?
The prices of both the cars currently are high. It has been estimated that the imported Haval H6 is currently priced at Rs6.577 million and Rs7.627 million for the Turbo 1.5L and Turbo 2.0L variants, respectively. On the other hand, the 1.5L Turbo Jolion is at Rs6.077 million.
Sazgar has also announced that the delivery for Haval can be expected to be in December. For Jolion, we’re looking at October. Sazgar has come a long way in trying to begin the trials. It received permission from the government of Pakistan (one would wonder which) to begin operations. This was done last December so they’re still pretty efficient at it!
Why Produce Them Locally?
To produce these locally would mean slashing the prices greatly. Half the price of the imported cars is the import tax duty which raises the price greatly. Moreover, since the rupee is unstable right now, the conversion rates also mostly keep increasing.
Additionally, encouraging local automobile manufacturers to start producing these cars locally came for a number of reasons. Firstly, so that the automobile industry of Pakistan can be broadened. There are a few manufacturers right now acting like a monopoly. Secondly, so that Pakistanis have more local variety!
The FIFA world cup is arguably the most anticipated sporting event across the globe. The spectacle is held every 4 years and draws billions of viewers with each edition’s rising popularity. This year’s edition is being held in Qatar, first time in an Arab state. The tournament kicks off on November 21, and the final is scheduled on December 18. This edition is going to be a lot different from its previous editions.
For the first time ever, the tournament will be held in the winter rather than the summer. It will also be a significant transition period for the players since the tournament will most likely be the last dance for many modern-day football icons that this generation has grown up watching. Let’s take a look at the five biggest stars that may be hanging up their boots after the World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
Cristiano Ronaldo, the most prolific scorer in the history of international football, is at the top of the list of legends who might be playing their final World Cup in 2022. He is still one of the finest players in the world at the age of 36. However, his recent performance suggests that he may retire from international play after the World Cup in Qatar.
Ronaldo was one of the breakout stars of the World Cup in 2006, helping Portugal reach the semifinals. Despite Ronaldo’s efforts, Portugal has been unable to go past the Round of 16 since then. However, this year Portugal’s young talent might help Ronaldo and Portugal win the World Cup for the first time. Ronaldo has scored seven World Cup goals so far and will want to reach double figures in the upcoming edition. He hopes to add the coveted World Cup winner’s medal to his Nations League and Euro 2016 medals.
2. Lionel Messi (Argentina)
The top two picks on this list must be heartbreaking for many fans, given that the finest players of this generation are on the verge of retiring. Lionel Messi is arguably the best and most gifted player of this generation. He has won almost everything in his celebrated career. The only major trophy missing from Lionel Messi’s collection is the most prestigious of them. Lionel Messi came close to winning the title in 2014 but was defeated in the finals by Germany. He was awarded the Golden Ball award as the best player of the tournament in the 2014 World Cup. During the 2018 World Cup, he missed a critical penalty against Iceland but scored the game-winning goal that advanced Argentina to the Round of 16.
Messi-led Argentina is in excellent form, having gone 32 games undefeated, with 21 victories and 11 draws, the longest undefeated streak in their history. Messi just won a Copa America for the first time in his career, followed by a decisive Finalissima victory. He certainly hopes to make it three out of three. Messi hopes to emulate the legendary Diego Maradona and add the most coveted trophy to his cabinet. At 35 years of age, this is likely to be his last shot. He has scored six goals in World Cup events so far.
3. Luka Modric (Croatia)
Luka Modric is undoubtedly the best midfielder of this era. Luka Modric debuted at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. His team Croatia was unable to go past the group stages. The same fate befell them in the 2014 edition, whereas in 2010 they failed to even qualify for the World Cup. However, in the 2018 edition in Russia, Modric-led Croatia qualified for their first World Cup final, where they were defeated by France. Modric received the Golden Ball award as the tournament’s best player.
The Croatian captain just had another outstanding season at the age of 36, during which he led Real Madrid’s midfield as the team won the Champions League. He is still regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, having won the Ballon d’Or as well as numerous other team and individual awards. He would aim to replicate his 2018 heroics in World Cup 2022 and end his career at his peak.
4. Luis Suarez (Uruguay)
Luis Suarez is one of the finest attackers of this age. He has had his fair share of iconic World Cup moments, but he has been mostly on the wrong side of history. He made his world cup debut in 2010. His premeditated handball against Ghana sent Uruguay to the semi-finals, and in 2014, he viciously bit Italian player Chiellini during a group encounter. But these incidents could not take away his excellent performances in World Cup games, having scored 7 goals across 3 editions.
He has represented some of the finest clubs including Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid during his career. The attacker undoubtedly has enough left in the tank to assist his squad capture the golden trophy in Qatar. However, at the age of 35, it will likely be the last hurrah for the South American icon.
5. Manuel Neuer (Germany)
Finally, Manuel Neuer is the only player on our list who has enjoyed ultimate triumph in World Cup competition, having won the prized cup in 2014. He was also named the tournament’s top goalie, earning him the Golden Glove.
Neuer is widely recognised as one of the finest goalkeepers to ever step foot on a football field. He has kept a whopping seven clean sheets in 16 appearances over three world cups. He has won several trophies and individual accolades during his illustrious career. He has won the UEFA Champions League twice and the Bundesliga for 10 consecutive seasons.
He captained Germany at the 2018 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage. Neuer would hope to finish his career on a good note following a forgettable performance in the last edition. His Bundesliga form suggests that, even at the age of 36, he is still one of the world’s greatest goalkeepers. In an interview, he stated that the “sole aim” is to win the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Ms. Marvel has been the talk of the town since its release but there’s still a lot of questioning about whether one should watch it or not. It has cast an inexperienced actress, the show is based on a young girl and most importantly, it’s very Pakistan-centric. So is it a must-watch? Well, yes it’s an incredible watch. Here’s why:
Iman Vellani does not have a big project to her name. She’s a regular, Pakistani-American young girl. Many might raise an eyebrow at her being cast— “how will the acting be good?” but it’s perfect. Her acting is natural, never over-the-top, and just pitch-perfect with the series.
The soundtrack is also one of the best ones. If you’ve been keeping up with Pakistani music, you’ll realize that this series has handpicked the very best. And they haven’t just stuffed them in, each song has its special place and deserves to be there. Be it Ali Sethi’s hot hit Pasoori, Hassan & Roshaan’s Doobne De and even Nazia Hassan’s one-hit wonders.
3. It’s Real Yet Fantasy
The animations that pop in from time to time make it the best show ever. Want to know why? It’s because it’s also not boring to be entirely ‘real’ based and it’s also not the stuff of barbie land with constant animations. There’s an excellent balance that has been achieved here and that is one of the biggest reasons you should watch Ms. Marvel series.
Here’s another thing: the storyline is simply commendable. It doesn’t dive into the character’s powers or her shortcomings as a person. The build-up, is after all, amazing and that goes for every character in the series and also the plotline generally. We’re all hanging by each episode and each one is better than the last.
This is the reason you won’t read about it elsewhere but it comes from the heart. The young girl is a Pakistani-American and struggles with the binaries of both cultures. Besides that, it is also relatable to the kind of difficulties that young children often face when trying to connect to their parents!
Shein – Not only have you heard about the place but you’ve also probably shopped from it or still are. The place has been the topic of controversy for a long time now as its working standards have been found to be deplorable. Now it appears things have taken a turn for the worst as their garment workers are sending messages to customers.
This may be a theory but even if it is, it’s gotten the ball rolling. Many people have ordered stuff from Shein only to find ‘help me’ written in many places. Either it is sent as a message on a piece of paper in-between clothes, it is written on the washing instructions label, or even the receipt taped on top. All these have been captured and posted on social media and have left many confused.
About Shein
Shein is the largest fashion retailer in the world with over 7000 employees and sales that might be in the millions. However, all that glitters is not gold. Shein makes its workers work a 75-hour week with 1 day off in the entire month and the pay is beyond questionable.
Shein put up a statement some years ago stating that its factory working conditions meet all standards set by international labor organizations. However, upon questioning by Reuters Shein removed the statement in 2021. Moreover, an independent organization was able to take pictures of the Shein factory’s working conditions and they were horrible.
What Did Shein Say?
Shein has responded to the allegations that its workers are sending out help messages by denying them. They said that most of the pictures of those messages were from other brands. There was the only one for which they take responsibility and that was a poor translation of their washing instructions.
Shein is still quiet on the issue regardless and does not address its violations of labor standards and working conditions. However, all of us have a huge role to play in giving Shein the success that it has. Stop shopping from the brand today and make a statement.
Logos are more than just something you use to spruce up your website, brand communications and marketing campaigns. Your logo is your visual identity, simplified and refined into a simple yet effective icon.
In this crowded world of competing companies, brand logos can be the element that captures the eye of your intended audience, inspires loyalty, and ensures that you continue to generate sales, no matter how saturated your niche might become.
While designing logos requires a creative mind and execution team, we rarely know what goes on behind designing a brand logo. Today we have decided to give you an insight into some of the most memorable brand marks and how they were designed.
1. Adidas
The Adidas logo shows how growth is presented with a linear graph rather than a perpendicular. The steps represent challenges which must be tackled step by step to achieve growth and success. The three-bar logo is the signature design on the majority of Adidas merchandise. Meanwhile, the thirty-degree angle represents a mountain and what it means to achieve fame as an athlete.
2. Pinterest
The Pinterest logo designed in a pin form suggests the availability of the pin option, which allows users to pin their favorite images and files. The P in the logo represents a pushpin in real life which is given a digital aspect on a digital platform.
Amazon is a powerhouse for online shopping, and its logo reflects that. The yellow arrow in their logo starts at the letter A and ends at the letter Z, implying that they sell everything from a to z. The arrow also represents a smile, with the arrowhead being a stylized dimple or smile line. The smile indicates the happiness people feel when they shop with Amazon.
4. L.G
LG is recognized worldwide, and most people recognize the ‘L’ and ‘G’ in the logo. What most people don’t realize, though, is that those letters help to create a face. The ‘L’ makes the nose, and the ‘G’ makes up the rest of the face. This gives the brand a human element and makes it more inviting and approachable.
5. Airbnb
The interesting-looking symbol that makes up the bulk of the current Airbnb logo design is actually a combination of four other symbols. The teardrop shape at the center of the symbol is meant to be a person’s head, conveying the idea that Airbnb is a people-oriented company. This same teardrop shape is also meant to represent the shape of a location icon – a symbol that people associate with travel and destinations. In addition to mimicking the first letter in the company’s name, the heart-shaped design of the outward symbol is also meant to be just what it looks like – a heart symbol that conveys the idea of love and compassion.
6. Vaio
Sony Vaio, aka Visual Audio Intelligent Organizer, is known worldwide for its technology, but not everyone knows the meaning behind its logo. Vaio represents the integration of both analog and digital technologies in its products. The letters ‘VA’ is made to look like an analog wave, while the ‘io’ resemble the numbers 1 and 0, representing a digital signal or binary code.
7. Nike
Nike’s logo always rings our ears with ‘Just do it. Implying in the logo, the swoosh mark is the classic Nike tagline just in the pictorial form. The swoosh mimics the wings of Nike, the goddess of victory in Greek mythology, and the company’s namesake. It also looks like a checkmark and signifies getting things done. With a fluid silhouette evoking motion and speed, you can see how much space there is to instil brand values into an abstract, minimal design.
8. Beats
The logo for Beats by Dre is pretty simple. The ‘b’is enclosed in a circle, followed by the brand name. The circle, though, isn’t just a circle. It represents a human’s head, and the ‘b’ letterform represents the brand’s headphones. This gives the brand a personal element, allowing a customer to see themselves in the headphones.
Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking for the internet, is named after its headquarters in San Francisco. While its namesake doesn’t have a hidden meaning, the blue stripes above the logotype represent not only an electromagnet but also the Golden Gate Bridge.

Cars are a symbol of many different things. Some represent status and eliteness, while some are just for transport purposes. But, who doesn’t want to own a car that can give you comfort, luxurious experiences and comes equipped with a number of features? Right?
Cars nowadays are offering their drivers a number of features that did not exist until just a year or so ago. One such experience automotive manufacturers are working on introducing completely autonomous cars.
However, over the years, through different channels and experiments, we have heard many different things in regards to self-driving cars. At first, it seemed almost impossible, but then, there was hope. However, we still have a long way to go until we can (if we can that is) master the technology.
Until then, here’s a list of 5 things you should know about self-driving cars
5 Things You Should Know About Self-Driving Cars!
1. Self Driving Cars Is A Hot Topic Since The 1930s!
It might be a little hard to wrap your head around the fact that the concept of autonomous cars came from the 30s, but it’s true. In the 1939 World’s Fair in New York, driverless technology was presented. Though it was not perfected at the time, experts had believed that this technology would be implemented by 1960.
However, even in the 2000s, no automotive manufacturer was able to successfully implement this tech without having problems. These include accidents and failures. However, tech companies and automotive giants are both keen on turning the idea into reality.
2. Some Vehicles Now Come Equipped With Autonomous Features
Yes, driverless cars may not have been perfect yet, but that doesn’t mean some of these features can’t be enjoyed while a human driver is in the seat. More automotive manufacturers have started to use this technology in their cars for GPS, sensors, radar, and more.
Why should cars have all the fun? GPS and sensor technology is being applied to tractors, mining trucks, cargo trucks, and more!
4. Google Has More Than 50 Self Driving Cars On The Roads
Google, although we have heard many stories of many of them crashing and burning, has achieved a milestone. the tech titan has more than 5 autonomous cars already on the roads. These cars include 22 Lexus SUVs, which are fully equipped with autonomous technology, and also 33 smaller self-driving prototypes.
5. Most Accidents Involving Driverless Cars Are Due To Human Fault
We all have heard many stories where a self-driving car has met an accident or has met with some sort of bad incident. But, what many people don’t know is that majority of these accidents were actually caused by human error.
In fact, Google’s first driverless car accident occurred because of a driver who rear-ended the driverless one! But yes, you can’t deny the fact that they are not completely safe, not yet anyway. On March 17, 2018, one of Uber’s driverless cars struck and killed a pedestrian in Tempe, Arizona, so there’s that!
We have yet to see what the future holds for self-driving cars until then, stay tuned to Brandsynario.
Gal Gadot, a name in obscurity up until 3 months ago, but now after the release of another Godforsaken superhero movie, it’s now a name which will be etched and remembered in infamy (at least in the so-called more pious err striven nations).
How suddenly have our moral consciences come to the forefront upon learning that Ms.Wonder Woman is an Israeli-born citizen and she obviously served actively in the military?
Seriously, the residents of Gaza could care less for the display of this muted solidarity (the movie taken off the theaters recently in some Muslim countries).I have no bone with Ms. Gadot or have an opinion on her political views, other than just the fact that I think she’s a fine looking woman with an incredible figure.
I have no bone with Ms. Gadot or have an opinion on her political views, other than just the fact that I think she’s a fine looking woman with an incredible figure.
So what’s the fascination about this flick? Well…
(A) Gal Gadot is too darn hot (this is for most men, probably some women too)
(B) The Good trouncing over Evil formula plot
(C) Again, Gal Gadot is way too darn hot
Neither of the above for me. For someone who has actually seen the movie initially due to boredom but honestly for point (A) and partially point (C); the movie fails to steer up imagination at least to the thinking man.
Her secret weapon is the bullet-repel jewelry (we can get that from; her thor-like swordplay; and her ability to bamboozle shockwaves from her wrists). Gotta love the locks sports fans.
Although now I mention it, her hair, pretty impressive. Never been a fan of empathetic almost God-like superheroes Wonder Woman is a good girl with a potential to be bad ass evil. That’s scary!!
Now, Catwoman, played by Selina Kyle, is the superhero we movie goers want to see and probably get a dose of real life inspiration from! Wait for it the punch line is on its way…
There’s something about a bad girl doing good or getting her act together to save the town, city and then probably who knows, the World! Catwoman is my kind of feline heroine, real, sassy, intriguing and true blue cool.
“Cats roam and appear when they feel like it. Not when they’re told.”- CatWoman
I mean look at the tenacity, killed her 9 times, she comes back 9 times stronger, who wouldn’t fall for that kind of courage. Womenfolk should identify with her a lot more, as she is the real protagonist, the one perfect ‘woman’s libber’.
She loves the Bat in Bruce and adores the Wayne in Batman, but she dictates terms her way, have to respect that. And you gotta love them, girls on bikes!
The moral of this sobrique is to lend a penny of thought to the filmmakers to aspire and return the leading roles to the real heroines, negative characters they may be, but their real prowess is that they ‘choose a side’ haway for keeping it real. Hope floats, still !!!
