Pakistani Shoe Brand In Hot Waters For Shamefully Disrespecting Books

A Pakistani shoe brand is not getting the kind of attention it thought it would with its latest campaign. In fact, they might have to retract the latest campaign despite the fact that there is no issue with their product. Is this a marketing ploy gone wrong or simply a senseless creative direction for a shoot? You decide:

Zelvo Trends

Zelvo trends is a footwear brand in Pakistan that operates online. The brand isn’t that visible yet but we have a feeling after this it will be very much. The brand’s campaign, the latest one, was put on KAMN, a Facebook group where all sorts of ads are discussed.

A post shared by Zelvo Trends (@zelvotrends)

Why was it put there? Well, let’s just say someone or in fact, many people were not happy with the concept of the shoot. We don’t blame them, it is odd, to say the least.

Shoes on Books?

This concept has never been seen before truth be told. They perhaps took the ‘be creative and original’ memo to heart. So much so that they designed this whole campaign in which the models are just stepping on books or the shoes are just placed on books. The reason is also unknown because the books do nothing for the shoes.

If they simply wanted to elevate the shoes they could have put any other object. Call it our culture or whatever, we are always told to respect books. They are a form of knowledge. Some of our parents never even let us put the books on the floor, considering it a disrespect.

What Are People Saying?

People are of the same opinion that this kind of ad is a big miss. When creative directions are so random and also disrespectful, it makes the people distracted. They no longer focus on the product, whether it is good or not rather they start fixating on how the way the product is shown is not acceptable.

People discussed the same thing altogether in the comments. They were unsure about what was trying to be achieved here. The general consensus? This just might be to get attention.

realme C35 Brings Solid Quality With The TUV Rheinland High Reliability Certification

There are many things you can consider when purchasing a new smartphone: camera performance, display size, design, and many other aspects. However, the most weight in the decision should be given to the quality of the tech that you are purchasing. Purchasing new tech is an investment that is expected to be long-lasting. Performance issues and physical frailty can really dampen the experience of using your new smartphone. The realme brand comes with a long legacy of high-quality products. This is why the realme C35 comes with an internationally acclaimed TÜV Rheinland High-Reliability Certification which acts as an assurance for realme customers that the product they are about to purchase is durable and worth the investment.

TÜV is a German business consultancy which specializes in certifying compliance with various safety and qualification standards. With over 20,000 employees working in subsidiaries, laboratories, and testing centers across the world, TÜV Rheinland aims to ensure quality and safety for an increasing number of new products and technologies in more new markets. Certificates provided by the international testing body are accredited globally by a variety of national standards organizations. Currently, TÜV Rheinland has issued approximately 23,000 valid certificates for companies worldwide for quality management alone.

The process of getting a product or system certified by TÜV is fairly simple. Working together with TÜV the organization needs to get its product or system tested and audited. Once the product passes the inspection, a product certificate is issued which re-affirms the product has met the required safety and quality criteria. A test mark is also assigned by TÜV which can be used in corporate communication by the organization. Being the blueprint for smartphone quality, realme collaborated with TÜV Rheinland in order to create the Smartphone High-Reliability Certification.

TÜV Rheinland and realme worked together to create SOPs that would be used for testing and quality control across realme’s complete range of smartphones. This new certification soon became the quality standard benchmark for smartphone brands in major world markets. The process of gaining a TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High-Reliability Certification involves 23 major tests overall. 10 of these tests relate to daily use scenarios such as wear and tear or drop impact, 7 involve extreme environments such as extreme humidity, extreme temperature, or voltage fluctuation, and 6 tests assess the reliability of the system’s components. When taken together these tests provide a holistic evaluation of the quality of the assessed smartphone.

For realme, smartphone build and performance quality are of paramount importance. The tech-democratizer has developed a 6-stage smartphone design process for how their handsets are designed, developed, and tested. Every step in the process is shadowed by the quality control team who have the authorization to redesign any product from scratch is it does not meet the standards that have been set. Even after all of this rigorous quality testing, the realme C35 comes with additional protection for its screen provided by a layer of Panda Glass coating, giving you added protection against cracks and scratches. The realme C35 isn’t just a durable device, it also has a host of incredible features. Featuring an exciting Glowing Silk Design, an advanced 50MP AI Triple Camera setup, massive 5000mAh, and so much more, the realme C35 delivers superior value and benchmark quality in its price segment.

1. Portrait Mode And Night Mode

You can take beautiful pictures with an iPhone’s front camera portrait mode. Yes, that selfie camera also has a portrait mode. However, you cannot zoom in or out of it so best move the camera instead. Additionally, taking photos in night mode in portrait can be useful in a poorly lit environment. Simply select the night mode feature on the camera and voila, portrait pictures with better lighting.

2. Adjusting Blur

Here is another feature that you might not have seen a lot. Portrait mode, basically, protrudes the person from the rest of the image. Then, the mode blurs the background to give a better effect. In iPhone portrait mode, you can adjust the amount of blur you want in the background. At times, it can be quite unpleasant to have too much blur so you can easily lessen it now.

3. Removing Portrait Mode

Sometimes, you may take a picture that you don’t want in Portrait mode. In such a case, you can always remove portrait mode from that picture. You can even save copies of either type, in case you change your mind.

4. Subject Eye

One of the most important parts of an image is the lighting and exposure to it.

Too much, and it looks painful to the eye.
Too less, then you can barely see anything in the image.

Similarly, there is a way to adjust exposure in this mode. All you have to do is click on the subject’s eye when you are holding the camera high. It will automatically adjust the exposure in accordance with the eye.

You have an in-built editor on your iPhone. When you take a photo and wish to edit it, simply click on the “edit” button. This will open up a lot of features for you to alter and adjust. This varies from brightness to exposure, all the way up to tint and contrast. In portrait mode, you get two extra features. One of these is background blur and the second is portrait lighting.

6. The Perfect Frame

This mode works best when the subject is approximately between 2 – 8 feet away from the camera. It gives the best photographic results as well as quality. Additionally, this feature is made easier in an iPhone. If you are too far, it will ask you to come closer and vice versa. Check out this feature if you have an iPhone and wish to take amazing portrait mode pictures.

Pakistani Dramas: Blackmailing Girls Into Marriage Using Parents’ Health

pakistani dramas

Be it a no-non-sense girl like Shiza from Azmaish or an ultimate obedient girl like Khirad from Humsafar, almost all of them had their parents’ health linked to their marital status in Pakistani dramas.

Pakistani dramas & a weird concept

The takeaway from these dramas gets embedded in the minds of the audience. As a result, the parents start believing that if their daughters didn’t get married or chose divorce, they would get heart attacks or will die. Similarly, girls begin to believe themselves as helpless because they cannot even choose to get out of toxic relationships or say not to red flag proposals for they are afraid of ruining their parents’ health.

Read More: Victim Blaming: The Practice Of (Almost) Every Pakistani

Let’s highlight some of the dramas which showed this:

Azmaish

The antagonist in the drama, Shiza played by Yashma Gill, is a character who ensures that she gets what she wants. Even if it is about getting her father to agree to her boyfriend, or getting her stepmother slapped by her father, she can do it all. But when her boyfriend turned fiance says “no” four days before the wedding, her father got a heart attack. After that, the same Shiza agreed to get married to someone she did not like because her father asked her to.

Moral: You can save your father by getting married to someone you do not like.

Suno Chanda

Remember Ajiya? Of course, you do. Considering Suno Chanda got an unnecessary second season, there is not a chance that Pakistanis would not remember its characters. The drama showed two cousins who did not see each other as spouses but because their grandfather asked them when he was extremely ill, saying no would have resulted in ‘immediate death’, they had to say yes.

Moral: You saying no could potentially lead to someone’s immediate death.

Ishqiya

Featuring Hania Aamir, Feroze Khan, and Ramsha Khan, the drama showcased a girl who had been in a 4-year relationship. But when her issue of marriage was raised, so was the issue of how her father was ill, and that they couldn’t afford to upset him. Moreover, even when she did get married to the person he wanted her to, she could not reveal her past because she was afraid that she would get divorced. And if she got divorced, it would mean that her father won’t survive.

Moral: Break promises to your boyfriend, because following through could kill your father

When we keep watching Pakistani dramas, the morals from every interaction begin translating one way or another in our daily lives. As a result, we see parents all around us talking about how their main purpose in life is getting their daughters married. And any problem in achieving the purpose would lead to a heart attack. Constantly seeing this in dramas, and hearing their parents talk about it, girls also are not able to exercise their agency when it comes to their marriage.

Covid cases are on the rise yet again! Face coverings are being recommended for use on a widespread basis. Depending on where you live, it may be compulsory to wear a face mask on public transport and in some public spaces, so this has become an essential part of everyday life. Meanwhile, with COVID it seems like masks are here to stay as they are a prerequisite to protecting yourself.

However, if you wear glasses, you’ve probably run into the issue of your glasses fogging up when you’re wearing a face mask. From constantly wiping your glasses throughout the day, to moisture causing them to slip down your nose — we understand how frustrating this added stress can be. So to help, we are sharing top tips and tricks for keeping your glasses fog-free below.

1. Fitted Mask

A tightly fitting mask is the first thing that you need to check for. Not only does this help to keep you protected against any airborne particles, but it also stops too much breath from escaping and fogging your lenses. For the best fit, your mask should be snug against your nose and cheeks, and there shouldn’t be any slack or gaps for the air to escape. If your mask is not tight enough when you first put it on, try tightening the straps for a secure fit or opting for a smaller size.

2. Breathing Pattern

Instead of fiddling with your mask and trying to adjust it, you might find that changing your breathing helps just as well. To prevent your glasses from steaming up, try to push the air downwards when you exhale. It might take a bit of getting used to, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s a pretty simple solution.

3. Antifog Spray To The Rescue

A number of commercially available antifog sprays can coat your glasses with a see-through film that keeps fog from forming. Many are formulated for use on eyeglasses, personal protective equipment, swim goggles, and diving masks.

Look for a brand that won’t damage protective coatings on your eyewear. Steer clear of sprays made to defog auto headlights, These products aren’t intended for use close to your eyes and skin.

4. Skin Safe Tape

If your skin isn’t too sensitive, you may find that a slender strip of skin-safe adhesive tape will keep your mask in place and seal the upper edge to prevent misting of your glasses.

Some people have had success with athletic tapes, which are meant to be used on the skin. You could also try an adhesive bandage.
