‘Free Vehicle Repairing Service’ Announced For Karachi During Monsoon

Monsoon is here, which means uncertainty regarding the weather, clogged-up traffic on the roads and broken vehicles. However, to deal with the situation, the city traffic police offer free vehicle repair services to facilitate the public during the monsoon season. This will also help maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

The monsoon rains can often leave the motorists stranded on the roads for hours. To counter this situation, DIG Traffic has introduced this service for free to help people and keep the traffic flow smoothly. For this purpose, 26 vehicles are patrolling the city with essential repair equipment that can fix minor problems. Out of 26, eight will patrol Shahrah-e-Faisal, five in the district south, three in the district west and the rest on other busy roads, including major highways.

Free Vehicle Repair Services

26 vehicles patrolling the city will offer the following services,

  • Tire puncture fixing and reinflation
  • Car towing pump starting the car
  • Extinguishing car fire
  • Refuelling (enough to travel to the nearest petrol station) for bikes and cars
  • Some other minor fixes

According to the DIG, the services would have the necessary equipment to deal with emergencies like fixing punctures, inflating tires, towing vehicles and fire extinguishers. The DIG further added that the service would also provide medical assistance to the people.

“In case a vehicle stops moving, two litres of petrol would be provided to the car owners and half a litre to the motorcycle owners for the vehicles to reach the nearest petrol pump and to prevent traffic jams,” said Cheema.

“Citizens can call for getting assistance 24/7 from Madadgar 15 staff by calling their helpline 15. The Urban Flooding Rescue Unit team is also associated with Madadgar 15’s service”, the DIG added.

Reach Out To 15

Karachi Police has established a particular unit associated with Madadgar 15. It means citizens can avail this service 24 hours a day and seven days a week by calling 15.

The initiative seems like a significant step to help the citizens of Karachi since monsoon always comes with unexpected situations, leading to emergencies and accidents. These services will help the citizens to reach out to concerned departments in case they meet with an urgent situation.

The logo of the company has also changed. From the iconic all caps to now only the K is capitalized. The color of the brand has also remarkably changed. Many other aspects are subject to change such as the typography and the box designs too. However, what is really rubbing off on people the wrong way is the name change.

The Journey From Macaroni to Mac

Kraft’s iconic ‘macaroni and cheese’ box will now be called the ‘mac and cheese’ box. For 85 years, it has been called the former and people always turn towards it when they want a pick-me-up comfort food. Now its name is changing. That is a big thing.

The people over at Kraft added that this name change is coming to reflect how people refer to the box anyway. No one refers to it in its full form and they want to show that they are also going with the wave in 2022. It’s to reflect comfort in the modern, Gen-Z colloquial way.

How Did People Respond?

People did not take kindly to the new changes. They feel like a big part of their life is changing and they’re upset about it, it makes sense. Doesn’t it? Everyone is conflicted and they’re also voicing it on Twitter. Have a look at what they said:

“An Import Ban on CBU Condition Smartphones Will Boost the Local Assembly of Smartphones in Pakistan” – Syed Mashood Hassan, Country Director, realme Pakistan

Increased taxation on the import of mobile phone parts was recently announced in Pakistan. The policies that authorities had been enforcing previously encouraged the import of mobile phone parts by granting relief from import taxation to smartphone businesses. This resulted in an influx of smartphone/technology brands setting up local manufacturing plants in the country including realme, the popular Chinese technology brand which opened its assembly plant earlier this year. All of this increased market activity was instrumental in increasing the overall market share of the smartphone market up to USD 250 million and creating a plethora of jobs for the local population.

With inflation on the rise, the government is taking necessary measures to try and remedy the situation. The increased taxes being set are dependent on the phone’s price bracket with the tax increasing proportionally to the price range. realme Pakistan has had a great year so far with the launch of its realme 9 series, the realme 9i and 9 Pro+, as well as the latest budget C series handset, the realme C35.

realme Pakistan’s Country Director, Syed Mashood Hassan shed light on the recent changes happening in the smartphone industry and discussed how increased taxation will affect the state of the smartphone market. According to Syed Mashood, the increased taxation on imports of mobile phone parts will have an effect across the smartphone market as well as consumers. Unfortunately, the end users will have to bear the brunt of this policy change. However, realme fans need not worry as the tech democratizer stays true to its promise of delivering high-end tech in an affordable package and is working hard to ensure its products stay affordable for consumers.

Users that are on the fringes of the premium segment might abandon the segment and trickle down into the mid-range and budget smartphone segments due to the increased burden of costs. This is an opportunity that can prove to be beneficial for realme as users who were more acquainted with premium-priced brands will start to look towards high value for money brands like realme that can deliver similar specifications at a slightly lower price point.

In the past few months, the value of USD is frequently appreciating in comparison to the Pakistani Rupee (PKR). This has had a devastating effect on the buying power of consumers in Pakistan as goods and services are becoming more expensive without an adjustment in income to balance it out. realme is doing its best to maintain the buying power of consumers by offering alternative channels to purchase its products.

The tech democratizer has collaborated with Bank Alfalah and other offline channels in order to offer its customers the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) facility which allows customers to purchase a smartphone with delayed payment. Alternatively, realme is offering increased support to its other partners that offer the facility to purchase their products on an installment basis. realme’s goal is to minimize the effect on the buying power of consumers and allow them to purchase their products at a markup of 0%.

realme’s progress in the last quarter has been on the rise, increasing 45% with respect to sales since January 2022 and garnering a great response from customers especially after the launch of the realme C35 and they plan to continue to go strong in the latter half of 2022. The brand’s focus will be on releasing three to four new smartphones with 4GB / 128GB and 6GB / 128GB specifications for its Gen-Z audience. In August this year, the incredibly exciting realme Fan Fest 2022 will be taking place. Syed Mashood hopes that it will be a fun-filled event for loving realme fans and give the skeptics who have not had an experience with the realme brand a chance to experience their products and fall in love with realme as well. Recently across the border, our neighboring country opened the world’s first realme Global Flagship Store. With realme’s trajectory of growth so far, realme Pakistan is eager to follow in their footsteps so realme fans can enjoy the ultimate realme experience.

The reduction of consumer buying power can definitely prove challenging for smartphone manufacturers in Pakistan but it is not a challenge that cannot be overcome. It is important for brands to adapt to changing situations and facilitate their consumers wherever possible. realme Pakistan will strive to continue its commitment to provide superior value to its consumers and do what it can to lift the burden off the buyers in the market.

Why It Was Needed

She casually opened up in a Something Haute interview that when she was younger she used to black out a lot. This is common amongst a lot of young people and occurs mostly due to low blood pressure. Sarwat Gilani was no different in her early 20s when she had begun acting too. One day, she blacked out in the washroom and hit her nose on the sink.

Since she had passed out, she couldn’t tell anything. However, when she gained consciousness she realized that she had broken her nose. Everything was bloody and she was also disoriented.

Who Did It and Who Wanted It?

Her family then rushed her to Dr. Tahir Shafi. Now the thing here is that Sarwat Gilani’s sister always kept asking her to get her nose done. Gilani, being her confident self, always said no to it. She said I act with my nose, everybody has now seen it. What is the point?

So when she did in fact break her nose, her sister was like this is the best opportunity. She also spoke to the Dr and they then proceeded to alter Sarwat Gilani’s nose for the best.

How Did She Feel?

Sarwat Gilani added that once the brace came off there was a lot of swelling, nothing could be told. However, as the days kept going by she kept saying and we quote “meri naak toh bohat achi horahi hai.” The humor and the nonchalance of this woman are so endearing!

“E-Bikes For Pakistan?”- Javed Afridi Teases His Fans Yet Again

Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team has created a collection of streamlined, lightweight, sleek, high-performance electric bikes.

Drawing upon knowledge from the top echelons of motorsports performance and electric advancements, the new collection presents one of the most sophisticated E-Bikes on the market. They have become the most sought-after luxury item of 2022.

Mercedes E-Bike Collection

The collection showcases four models, Formula E, Silver Arrows, Silver Arrows Sport, and the new high-performance Championship Edition. These models come with varying features to cater to the rider’s style. Some of these are three times more powerful than any standard E-Bikes on the market.

Styling across the range maintains iconic minimalistic Mercedes-Benz design, concealed batteries, and motor, setting the range apart from the industry’s standard of thicker framing and external batteries on show.

The digital dashboard adds technological sophistication, along with all the usual data points (speedometer, battery indicator, range). The bikes also come with a password-activated security immobiliser along with phone charging functionality.

The range has been designed to create a powerful yet smooth ride, with centrally positioned motors for efficient weight distribution. The bikes are equipped with constantly variable technology to alleviate any “clunky” gear changes. This, paired with a carbon belt drive and a powerful motor output, is the ultimate combination in creating silent “catch me if you can” speed.

Mercedes E-Bikes In Pakistan?

While the future of the E-Bikes is still unknown, Javed Afridi shared the news on his Twitter account. He shared the picture with the caption ‘E-Bikes for Pakistan?’

While the post has left everyone curious about whether E-Bikes will seek the light of the day in Pakistan or not, some people raised very relevant questions, which made us wonder if the bikes would be practical in Pakistan, to begin with since it’s an E-Bike which requires electricity to charge the battery.

Mercedes is a luxury brand, and the E-Bikes will come with a higher price tag; this has left us wondering who will be able to afford these in Pakistan.  Whether it’s an idea to tackle the rising inflation and petrol prices or a real deal in the process, we can’t wait for the official news about the launch in Pakistan.

5 Pakistani Actresses Who Think Female Characters In Dramas Should Change!

pakistani dramas
source: Brandsynario

Pakistani dramas seem to be going through a downfall recently. The industry is producing shows around issues that do not relate to the audience. Scenes revolve around topics such as love, betrayal, extra-marital affairs, and second marriage.

Pakistani television has been receiving a lot of criticism recently. Even the drama actors and actresses, themselves, have been criticizing their own and other dramas. It looks like that as the quantity of shows is increasing their quality is decreasing.

The portrayal of female characters

One of the issues actors are mostly concerned with regarding Pakistani dramas is the portrayal of female characters. Crying and conspiracies are the only things women in dramas do nowadays.

Although, audiences have always loved strong female characters such as Kashaf from Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Khirad from Humsafar, and Anmol from Dil Lagi. Empowered female characters who can stand up to society, and the people around them are appreciated and loved.

Following are the actresses that believe that Pakistani dramas should change the way it represents women:

1. Asma Abbas

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Asma Abbas said that she is not satisfied with the representation of women her age. She further said that she is often told by her producers and directors to straighten her naturally curly hair. They say that wavy hair looks too beautiful on a poor woman (eh, logic?).

This Adidas & Gucci Collaboration Has Got People Talking

Fashion powerhouses Gucci and Adidas have collaborated for yet another fashion release. The brands are top-tiered names in sports and fashion, respectively, so it’s no surprise that they have joined hands to release a power collection.

The collaboration released plenty of products, including custom colour Adidas Gazelles, tracksuits, bags, hats and jewellery, with some items looking bright, but they’ll set you back a fair bit! So it’s safe to say for those who have the money, the collaboration has been a major success, with plenty of products we’d want to cop.

The Infamous Gucci x Adidas Loafers

While the collection is receiving great reviews, one item from the range that has got people talking is the loafer they have released. The leather shoe has the trademark Gucci band with the typical Adidas three stripes.

Unfortunately, they resemble your iconic Copa Mundial boots, with no laces and a heel instead of studs. To complete the look, the Adidas Originals logo in gold on the heel makes them stand out as an Adidas x Gucci product.

While the attire these shoes would go for is quite vague at this point, the shoes seem like a good option for those who want to experiment with their look.

You can get the loafers at a hefty price of £785. Available in either black leather or grey suede.

The product description details the loafer while selling it to potential customers by saying,

“Part of the Adidas x Gucci collection, this loafer features a Gucci Trefoil metal insert. Adidas and Gucci venture into a collection where the Web juxtaposes the three white stripes, and the GG monogram combines with the trefoil.

Pulling inspiration from the Creative Director’s memories of the ’80s and ’90s, emblematic House’s motifs mix with those of the historic sportswear brand Adidas resulting in a series of hybrid looks.”

Twitter Reacts To The Collab

The launch of these loafers left Twitter confused, and it was no surprise that the public labelled the design as one of the worst.

Take a look at some of the reactions below.

While some deemed them as the worst shoe design ever, others were quick to pull out other styles from the collaboration and safe to say there is no winner so far.

The Display

iPhone 14 will have four variants. These will include the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Most of the rumors were about the display. It has been shared that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will have a smaller display size of 6.1 inches.

However, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max model will retain the larger display size which is 6.7-inch, and will make it the most expensive iPhone model. They will have the AMOLED display for the first time.

The Camera

Moreover, as for the camera, more improvements are to be expected. The iPhone 14 is expected to support a dual rear camera system. However, the sensors are said to be larger than those of the iPhone 13. This basically means that the upcoming iPhone will be capable of capturing better low-light photos. Although Apple tried improving this greatly with iPhone 13 too, iPhone 14’s camera will be a bigger threat.

The Battery Life

Nothing substantial has been given for this department yet. However, it is true that iPhone users complain about the battery a lot. Now, the company is rumored to have worked upon this. With the upcoming iPhone 14, the tech giant plans to improve the battery life even further.

Miscellaneous Information

There are also rumors that iPhone 14 will be more powerful than its predecessor. As for the price, the smallest model will start from the standard $799 but it’s not yet known how far the most expensive model will go.

What Did She Do?

Kylie Jenner, a billionaire, is living her life all the time. She posted a story about the ultimate luxurious fruit tray being served to her. We don’t even know half the fruits on there! Anyhow, Minal Khan saw the story and thought hmmm.. Maybe I should post the same one. And she did!

She cropped out Kylie’s name and posted the same fruit tray on her own story. Maybe she thought people would not find out or maybe she wanted to play a game with her followers. We don’t know. All we know is that since then she has become the center and subject of all memes.

The Memes Being Made

8 Haircare Myths That Make No Sense At All

8 Haircare Myths That Make No Sense At All

Hair isn’t something that grows out of our heads. It’s who we are as individuals. From having different hair types, textures, and hair care routines to experimentation, we all have had a single goal: to have a healthy mane. And no, it doesn’t have to come at the expense of expensive treatments or transformational chops that we dread to make. Like everything, the hair also has a list of myths attached to them. While some are partial, true others are not so much. And while we all embark on the journey to take care of our hair, busting the hair myths is the first crucial step.

So, here are some myths debunked for you.

Myth 1: The More You Cut Your Hair = The Faster It Grows

While we all love to chop off those dead strands out of our heads, the frequency of hair cuts has nothing to do with your hair growth. However, split ends can contribute to the poor length and dry ends. That is why it is advisable to cut your hair every few months. The rate of hair growth depends on genetics and your body’s nutritional status, along with your health status. So, instead of regularly going to the stylist, try to maintain a balanced lifestyle with good eating habits and reduced stress. Also, incorporate vitamins like Biotin, Omega-3 to deal with hair issues. However, with vitamins consulting, a professional is the key.

Myth 2: Frequent Combing = Good Quality Hair

Brushing or combing has no direct impact on hair growth. Especially brushing your hair wet right after the shower can do more harm than good. Since the shaft is weak and is more prone to breakage, combing your hair once it is dry is advisable. However, brushing your hair does help in distributing the amount of natural oil since it allows the oil produced in the scalp to cover the hair. That results in increased shine and fewer chances of sebum buildup in the scalp.

Myth 3: Hair Colouring = Premature Greying of Hair

While this myth is considered accurate to date, hair color can only damage the hair if not done correctly by a professional. Ammonia and formaldehyde, which were the core component of the hair colors back in time, are no longer a part of good quality products. Moreover, coloring your hair doesn’t mean that it will result in more grey hair. However, if you go overboard, the result will not be good.

Myth 4: Plucking One Gray Hair = Two More Will Appear

This one deserves a big fat ‘NO’. This myth probably originated because gray hairs tend to show up gradually, and once you notice one, you’ll see more and more. There’s no merit for plucking a gray coat and two growing back. Each strand is only attached to one hair follicle, says Justine Marjan, TRESemmé global stylist and GHD brand ambassador.

Myth 5: The More You Shampoo = Cleaner Hair

Too much shampooing your hair can strip it off all the natural hair oils, which are substantial for a slick hair look. This can result in dry and lackluster hair. Stick to washing your hair from 2-3 times a week, depending on your hair type and quality.

Myth 6: Cold Water = Shinier Hair

You no longer have to feel cold in cold water showers because this myth doesn’t stand true. Hair shine can be improved with good quality hair care products, which will work better in the long run.

Myth 7: Dry Shampoo = Clean Hair

Stick to dry shampoo in emergencies only. It is not a resort for usual hair cleaning, neither should it be thought of as one. It can remove the oil and make it look not very interesting temporarily. However, that will only result in more buildup, which should be removed with a proper shampoo.

Myth 8: Same Hair Products = Good Hair

Everything needs adjusting, and our hair is no exception. With changing weather and habits, your hair also requires a change in its routine. Focus on finding a product suited for different climates instead of using the same products throughout the year.
