The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) have joined to bring something great into our lives. They have jointly developed a new system for temporary registration of overseas Pakistani and foreign nationals mobile devices’ and here’s why that’s a big deal:
This joint venture is a collaboration of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and mobile phone operators. These authorities saw a huge loophole where many overseas Pakistanis were suffering. It is specifically introduced for those Pakistanis and foreign nationals who do not want to keep their mobile phones in Pakistan.
Keep a note that this will only be applicable for one mobile phone per person.
How Can You Avail?
To avail of this temporary mobile registration, you must provide your credentials. These would include passport number, date of arrival and intended date of departure, mobile SIM issued in his/her name, and IMEI(s) of the device.
The system is secure from scammers. Verification will be done in real-time from FIA’s Integrated Border Management System (IBMS).
How Does It Work?
The IMEI(s) registered with the facility will be suspended after 120 days of the applicant’s stay. Moreover, they will also not be valid on registered local network services. However, this does not mean you can not do this again. In case you visit Pakistan again, you can re-apply for this temporary facilitation. You can simply re-enter the details you used the first time.
Why It’s A Big Deal
Services like this deserve due credit. This system will be a sigh of relief for many overseas Pakistanis and also foreign nationals who previously faced a lot of trouble. It is a brilliantly developed scheme essentially which will bring a good name to the country. This reflects how all authorities can work together to create something remarkable.

Recent research by a tech giant has established the most criticized tech product from all around the world – the Xbox Series.
According to Electronic Hub, the Xbox Series claims the top three spots for being the most complained about gaming console on social media.
The Study Results
The results of the study which was conducted in November 2021 concluded that Xbox systems most likely receive criticism from players all around the world.
The top three slots went to Xbox Series X (12.5%), Xbox One (12.1%), and Xbox Series S (9.8%). PlayStation 4 came in last, with only 0.5% of tweets about the system expressing any dissatisfaction.
The plethora of criticism revolved around the gamers’ inability to get their hands on the console itself. However, majority also complained about the design of the console, comparing the Series X to a mini fridge.
According to the research, the users also faced major difficulty in series X. While the bugs disrupted the use of wireless controllers and headphones with the system.
The research determined the numbers by first curating a list of the most popular and best-selling tech products in the world. The data was collected from the most renowned websites including Forbes. Later, the Twitter API was used to gather tweets mentioning any of the products from their study.
Almost 344,105 tweets were examined for complaints at Github which is a complaint detection tool established by Electronics Hub.
Other Electronic Items Ratings
Electronic Hub also reported other devices including Home smart devices, cellphones, headphones, and laptops. Meanwhile making up up the vast majority of complaints.
The home smart devices were ranked at number eight of the top 20 most criticized devices of the year. Meanwhile, cameras took the last spot for receiving complaints on the internet.

YouTube has announced massive grants for video creators and podcasters and it appears the streaming platform is trying to venture into Google podcasts. Is this a successful move and will people actually scramble for the grants? Here’s everything you need to know about what’s unfolding in the streaming world:
YouTube is reportedly offering grants of up to $30,000. These grants are specially to produce videos that would also include filmed versions of podcasts. However, there are certain levels of grants and rules on who can avail what. For instance, each creator can receive $15,000 individually whereas podcast networks may be looking at $20,000 to $30,000.

YouTube is pursuing podcasts very passionately and this can be interpreted as to its desire to compete with Spotify. This move also comes after a recent incline in Spotify and Amazon’s investments in podcast streaming on their platforms.
Here’s what YouTube has been doing: it has added listening controls for video playback. Moreover, it has hired Kai Chuk as “Podcast lead” in order to refine the listening experience on YouTube. The campaign is about how a lot of times jokes are used to marginalize women. These jokes about beautiful women not being able to study hard are incredibly discriminatory. In addition to that, the biggest joke of all “oh she’s a beauty with brains” is incredibly problematic.
