The owner of Junoon restaurant in Lahore, Adeel Chaudry is the whistleblower of Elan. The man spoke out against the brand for taking a heft amount of money for a girl’s Barat and then failing to deliver it. They are also not refunding the family! Imagine not getting your bridal jora on your wedding day, we can’t even imagine the despair it would cause to the entire family.

Since then, hundreds of people have spoken up against Elan. People within Pakistan and from abroad are complaining about the same thing. Hundreds of outfits, be it bridal or pret, are undelivered and also not refunded. The customer service is perhaps the worst that we have seen so far and people’s hands are tied.

Atikah Gardezi, an upcoming model, also started a movement before this. She worked for Khadijah Shah’s Elan’s sister brand, Zaha, and was not paid! It had been months and her payment was pending despite the brand releasing several collections. Could it be a lack of funds? Definitely not. It was simply entitlement and lack of ethics.

Keep reading because this will definitely give you food nightmares for life. For the first time ever, you will be introduced to ice cream with horrendous pairing.

The video begins with the man chopping chillies into tiny pieces on a flat surface. Thereafter, he added Nutella – chocolate spread – to the chillies apart from milk cream. Next, he mixed the ingredients well to prepare the ice cream. Next, he prepared the mixture into rolls and garnished the ice cream rolls with chillies. Here’s the look at the video.

The bizarre combination of chilli mixed with our beloved Nutella is enough to make us cry. Not to mention, the horror of trying this absurdity. Doesn’t this go beyond one’s understanding that why would someone try to add chillies to ice cream?

The comment section of the video is ripe with hilarious comments.

While some are demanding ‘Food Abuse Control Bureau’, others say they will never be able to look at ice cream and chillies like they used to before.

The Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan launched the second phase of Raast, called Person-to-Person instant payment system in a ceremony in Islamabad today. Raast, a flagship initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is a payment system platform that enables various types of transactions among different stakeholders such as organizations, businesses and persons. The objective of this initiative is to promote digitization and financial inclusion in the country. In the first phase of Raast, launched in January 2021, transactions from organizations to persons, generally referred to as Bulk Payments, were enabled. The second phase is designed to facilitate Person-to-Person (P2P) transactions under Raast.

The Prime Minister congratulated Governor SBP Dr. Reza Baqir and his team for the successful completion of the second phase. He was addressing a gathering of Ministers, Presidents, and CEOs of Banks, SBP officials, and other distinguished guests at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad. He appreciated that the newly launched system will enable ordinary people to execute digital payments instantly, securely, and conveniently without paying any fee and added that Raast will open doors of further innovation for the economy and particularly the financial sector. He expressed his confidence that through digitization of the economy, the over 220 million population could be converted into an asset by ensuring their financial inclusion.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Shaukat Tarin appreciated the SBP for the progress made in digitization and expressed his confidence that the forthcoming phases of Raast including payment to merchants will play an important role in facilitating the masses in their financial transaction thus increasing their valuable contribution in the economy.

Governor SBP Dr. Reza Baqir welcomed the Prime Minister on the launch event and expressed gratitude for his commitment and support to the SBP initiatives for promoting digitization and financial inclusion in the economy. Governor Baqir, while highlighting the key features of Raast, explained that individuals can use this platform in their transactions just like cash and they will not have to pay any fees or charges for using this payment system. More importantly, Raast is secure and convenient and free of risks compared to cash. Raast is easy and simple to use as it allows connecting bank account to user’s mobile number, called Raast ID. The facility can be used on mobile apps and internet banking portals of banks. For those people who do not have a mobile phone or facility of
internet banking, Raast P2P service is also available in bank branches.

To avail Raast, customers should check SBP’s Raast landing page to see if their bank is already offering Raast—currently more than 18 banks, processing majority of retail payment transactions, are offering Raast services —and register one time for Raast in their bank’s mobile app, through internet banking or by visiting a bank branch. Dr. Baqir explained that Raast is Pakistan’s first instant payment system established in accordance with the National Payment Systems Strategy, which was prepared by State Bank of Pakistan and launched by the President of the World Bank in 2019 when he visited Pakistan. This project is a major initiative of State Bank of Pakistan, and with the launch of Raast, Pakistan is now in an exclusive list of countries that have these state-of-the-art instant payment systems. He assured that SBP is committed to launching more innovative features in Raast to further promote digitization and financial inclusion.

On SBP’s efforts to promote digitalization of payments and economy, Governor SBP highlighted that in January SBP issued a digital bank licensing framework that provides flexible requirements to set up digital banks in Pakistan. For now, only five licenses for Digital Banks will be issued and interested parties can apply for a license until March 31, 2022. It may be noted that during the fiscal year 2021, 1.2 billion transactions of USD500 billion value were processed through retail e-Banking channels. These transactions showed year-on-year growth of 30.6% in volume and 31.1% in value.

In accordance with this, we intend to ensure that our safety protocols in Pakistan are in line with approved global safety standards. The new and improved background checks are more efficient and thorough, and ensure that working together with other ride-hailing providers like Careem enables us to create best practices across the industry.”

These background screenings are in addition to the in-app safety features available for riders using Uber’s services, including the facial recognition feature for COVID safety protocols, safety toolkit, the emergency button connecting a rider to relevant authorities, real-time trip sharing, etc.

Xbox Is Releasing A New ‘Quick Resume’ Feature For Its Users

Microsoft is now testing a feature that will allow two games to be kept in a Quick Resume state permanently on Xbox. That way you don’t have to pick between some of your favorite games, just because you want to beat all the pesky loading screens.

The feature was mentioned in the release notes for the latest Xbox Update Preview for the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring. However, Xbox insider had to clarify that this particular feature isn’t ready, and its inclusion in the release notes was an error.

The Xbox Latest Feature

“Users on Xbox Series X|S consoles can now keep up to two games in Quick Resume no matter what other games are launched. These games will only drop out of Quick Resume if the user manually removes it or if a game is updated.” The details noted.

While the Xbox Series X allows you to have three games in their suspended state right now, this new update is still a big deal. Because two games will stay in their Quick Resume state no matter what other games you decide to play in the interim.

Quick Resume is one of the standout features on the Xbox Series X and Series S. Because, let’s face it, loading times are the worst even if the internal SSD makes load times shorter than previous console generations.

Sony’s Quick Resume

It’s also something that Sony has failed to replicate on the PS5 so far, and in the past, we’ve noted that Quick Resume is miles ahead of the PS5’s ‘Switcher’ feature. And Quick Resume is switched on by default, so you don’t have to go hunting through the settings to take advantage.

Scoring in Preliminary Tests

The GRE keeps changing every year. The announcement stated that “Under the new scoring system, minimum scores of 138 in the verbal and 136 in the quantitative parts are necessary”. Shortlisted candidates are required to take the TOEFL exam after the GRE.

Who Should Apply?

You can apply if you’re a Pakistani student who promises to return home after studying. Eligible for applying are also those who hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, if you have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree combination you can also apply. Ph.D. candidates are required to hold a Master’s, M.Phil., or comparable degree (18 years of formal education) from an approved university.

In addition to this, women, people from rural and underprivileged areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) or Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are highly encouraged. Moreover, you are also encouraged to apply if you have an impairment.

Well, something like this might happen to the mithai lovers after reading what we are about to tell you because kaju ki barfi is in trouble. So, proceed with caution.

Kaju Ki Barfi In Soup

Kaju Ki Mithayi or Kaju barfi is a traditional Indian dessert that has significant importance. Meanwhile, chicken soup is comfort food, and the two stand on opposite poles in the food chart. However, someone tried dipping their Kaju katli in soup. We are offended and are hoping that this was just a mistake.

There can be a number of factors that result in road accidents. They may either be related to using the mobile phone or not looking on the road properly. While it is not illegal to eat and drink while driving, we recommend avoiding it. Now it has come to light that smartwatches may be a bigger distraction to drivers than mobile phones!

Yes, it is possible that the watch you may be wearing could be a bigger distraction. The mobile phone may be tucked away in your pocket but those smartwatches are blasting away the notifications. One cannot help but steal a glance at the watch while driving. This shows that smartwatches can prove to be bigger and more dangerous distractions for drivers. Let us dive into a little more detail.

Smartwatches and Driving:

There were some observations and tests made recently. Apparently, drivers were tested on the area of ‘focus’. There were a number of instances that they were provided with, including mobile phone notification and smartwatches. It seems, from the results, that drivers were less focused on the road when the notification was on the smartwatch, as compared to the mobile phone.

It has been said that 70% of all handheld technology will comprise smartwatches by 2022. That is quite a lot of them in the hands of people. This means that there is a higher chance of people getting distracted by them while driving. If people want smartwatch use to be restricted while driving, there needs to be more research that proves this. One cannot just pass a law without just cause and proof.

Staying Safe:

It has also been noted that voice assistants were less distracting to drivers than smartwatches. Imagine something being so distracting that it surpasses other pieces of technology. A lot of accidents can be avoided if there was a way to lessen the use of smartwatches while driving.

There is even more research being done on this as we speak because it is a major concern. Studies have shown that 90% of many types of accidents are the result of human errors. Of course, we cannot completely eradicate human errors but we can reduce the chances in which an accident takes place. It has been concluded that smartwatches do have a negative effect while driving. The safest way of communication to the driver has been through voice.

Driving Carefully:

We hope that there can be a solution to this smartwatch distraction problem. Distraction itself can be extremely dangerous, especially when in a situation such as driving. Maybe there can be a way to use a smartwatch while driving but still stay focused on the road. IF we were to use voice assistants to deliver messages rather than written notifications, the distraction can be avoided.

Instead of looking down on your wrist, it would be much safer if a voice assistant dictates your notification. We urge everyone to take care of themselves and drive safely.

The back story

Don’t you just love them, their taste, and that perfect little stack that comes out of the can? Ever wonder how that stack is even possible? Or that that stack enables more chips to fit in one can without wasting space? Well, that’s because there is a backstory to the shape of pringles ships.

So the shape comes as a solution to a critical problem. The issue with potato chips was always that they become greasy, they break easily, or they go stale. So a chemist decided to employ his knowledge of mathematics and came up with a solution.
