Smartphone long running

A smartphone is quite an essential part of everyone’s life. Not only does it allow you to connect with people, but the availability of all kinds of applications on it enhances our abilities too. Back when Google Maps was not a thing, people used to refer to physical maps. Knowledge has become readily available in the palm of our hands.

However, keeping a smartphone also means taking care of it. Just like an automobile, a smartphone will give you a long life if taken care of properly. There are a couple of tips one can keep in mind when using a phone. Neither are they too tedious to do nor do they take up a lot of time.

1. A Protective Case

Accidents can happen, a smartphone can fall out of your hands or from your pocket. It can get damaged. A sturdy protector ensures that the phone will be able to survive quite a lot of falls. A phone without a case is prone to dents, cracks and all kinds of costly damages.

2. Cleaning the Smartphone Speakers

Over time, dust can accumulate within the speakers or the microphone of the smartphone. It is better to needle out the dust from the speakers occasionally. Not only does it keep the sound of the phone clear, it does not cause damage to any internal circuitry due to settling dust.

3. Smartphone Charging Practices

It is highly recommended to not let the smartphone sit and charge when it has reached its full capacity. Over time, such a practice can reduce battery life. Similarly, it is also recommended to not let the battery drop to zero all the time. On occasion, it is alright but it should not be a habit.

4. The Camera Lens

Just like the speaker, dust can also settle on the camera lens of the smartphone. If it is not cleaned often, the dust can cause scratches on the camera lens. That, in turn, is going to greatly reduce the qualities of the pictures you are able to take with the phone. Make sure to clean the lens with a soft and clean cloth.

5. Smartphone Storage

If your smartphone has a 64GB storage capacity, it is recommended to not fill the storage more than 90%. Too many applications filled to the brim in a phone causes it to slow down or heat up. Make sure to always leave some storage empty.

6. Avoid Third Party Installations

It is better to avoid installing applications or downloading files from third-party applications. Data breach is a major concern in the industry today. Make sure to verify all links before downloading anything from them. One wrong file and you could have a virus in your system.

However, despite the controlled content distribution by the bride and her manager, controversy emerged, one of them targeting an emotional moment – Mahira Khan’s husband shedding tears.

Some voices in the social media jury deemed the tear-wiping moment as unoriginal and unimpressive, expressing their scepticism about the authenticity of his gesture.

One commenter asserted that tears flow from the inner corners of the eye, unlike the groom’s portrayal.

Some critics labelled the emotional display as a borrowed trend from the West.

Another user escalated their criticism to personal attacks, accusing Mahira Khan of marrying her husband, Salim Karim, solely for his business success, branding her a golddigger.

Virender Sehwag Backs Afghanistan To Beat Pakistan In World Cup 2023

As the countdown to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 draws near, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, known for his unfiltered remarks, has sent shockwaves through the cricketing community with his latest statement.

In a candid interview with a prominent cricketing website, the seasoned player expressed a rather unconventional wish, hoping for Afghanistan to pull off a stunning upset against arch-rivals Pakistan.

With just three days left until the tournament kicks off, Sehwag’s bold statement adds an extra layer of anticipation to what promises to be an exhilarating cricketing spectacle.

ICC World Cup 2023 will kick off with defending champions England facing New Zealand in Ahmedabad on October 5, meanwhile, Sehwag’s wishful encounter between Pakistan and Afghanistan will take place on October 23 in Chennai.

Sehwag while expressing his desire stated, “A neck-and-neck battle and an unexpected contender—I wish for something like this to happen this time, leaving India astonished. There should be something that shakes up the expectations, but I don’t want India to face any upset. If there has to be an upset, it should be like Afghanistan defeating Pakistan, or New Zealand defeating Australia, or South Africa defeating England. That’s when it will be exciting to watch this World Cup.”

Additionally, Sehwag voiced his anticipation for India’s match against Pakistan on October 14th in Ahmedabad, expressing hope that India’s impeccable record against Pakistan in ODI World Cup matches would continue.

“India’s record against Pakistan is quite remarkable, especially in the ODI World Cup. Until now, we haven’t lost a single match against them, and I really hope this record continues… I expect that 100,000 people will come to the ground to watch the match and that in itself will create pressure.”

A decorated cricketer himself, Sehwag’s international career spanned 374 matches across all three formats, accumulating 17,253 runs and taking 136 wickets. He played a pivotal role in India’s victories in the ICC World T20 2007 and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

Pakistan cricket team’s 14-run loss against Australia in a closely fought ICC World Cup 2023 was filled with many thrilling moments, however, a comical fielding mishap caught the attention of fans and Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan.

During the 23rd over during Australia’s batting, bowled by Haris Rauf, the ball was nudged towards square leg; however, an unexpected mix-up between fielders Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Mohammad Nawaz led to a boundary, awarding four runs to the Australian batting side.

The video of the fielding mishap went viral on social media and explosive Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan, who is known for his infectious sense of humour both on and off the field also jumped onto the bandwagon.

Seizing the opportunity, Dhawan playfully mocked Pakistan’s fielding efforts on his official X account (formerly Twitter). He shared the video of the incident with the caption, stating, “Pakistan and fielding—a never-ending love story.”

Known as the ‘Gabbar’ of Indian cricket, Dhawan has garnered a reputation not only for his explosive batting but also for his affable personality and ability to keep the team’s spirits high. His social media presence is a testament to his vibrant character, often sharing moments of camaraderie with fellow cricketers and providing fans with a glimpse into the life of one of India’s most beloved sportsmen.

Meanwhile, another user shared catch efficiency stats in the past four years, where Pakistan stood second while the Indian side is lying at the bottom only above Afghanistan.

Pakistan's Javelin Star Arshad Nadeem Withdraws from Asian Games

Pakistan’s javelin champion Arshad Nadeem was disqualified from Asian Games due to a knee injury on Tuesday, officials confirmed.

This unfortunate development has deprived Pakistan from bagging another medal at the tournament, as Nadeem was considered one of their brightest prospects.

An official of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) confirmed that Nadeem informed them and the Pakistan contingent about his inability to participate in the event due to a chronic knee injury just 24 hours before his scheduled appearance in the men’s javelin throw finals on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement attributed to Pakistan’s Chef de Mission and released by the POA, Nadeem reported experiencing knee pain after his first training session in Hangzhou.

“After arrival at Hangzhou at the first training session on 27th September 2023, Mr. Arshad Nadeem revealed and complained to Dr. Asad Abbas who was accompanying him that he has been grappling with persistent pain for several months, a concern that has become particularly pressing in the aftermath of the World Athletics Championship,” the statement highlighted.

“On 2nd October, he again complained of pain in the right knee and expressed a desire to undergo an evaluation to determine the impact on his ability to participate in the javelin throw event. The Chief Medical Officer of the Pakistan Contingent recommended a comprehensive check-up.

Nadeem underwent a thorough medical examination, including a non-invasive MRI test at a local hospital in Hangzhou, which revealed a chronic injury that he had been carrying.

Following consultations with medical personnel, Arshad Nadeem made the decision not to participate in the Asian Games to avoid any circumstances that might hinder his training program and his ultimate goal of competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

I had to sneak out for cricket because my dad was strict: Haris Rauf

Pakistani fast bowler, Haris Rauf, recently took fans on an intimate tour of the neighbourhood where he grew up playing cricket and the struggles he endured on the way.

In ESPNcricinfo’s documentary ‘The Incredible Rise of Haris Rauf,’ the pacer shared that he was fond of cricket ever since her was a pre-schooler but his father didn’t allow him to play cricket.

“My father used to beat me about three times every day. I’d be quiet for a bit then go out to play again. My cricket gear, like my trousers, and shoes used to be at a friend’s house because I couldn’t let my family know that was I going to play, not to study. On the way back I used to change back into what I wore at home but my dad would get to know where I was and then I’d get beaten again,” the 29-year-old speedster recalled his earlier years in Rawalpindi.

Being the eldest of 7 children and his father’s profession as a welder, the father’s expectations and their financial circumstances were enough to keep anyone grounded.

Education and cricket went hand in hand, Haris said, further adding  that he had to sell snacks (nimco) in the market after doing his matriculation to cover his education expenses.

“When I enrolled in university, my father was not earning enough to be able to pay my fees and I couldn’t afford it too but by playing tape-ball cricket I would easily manage my fees,” Rauf was quoted in the documentary.

Here’s the interview

On top of that, no one was comfortable with us playing cricket in front of their houses.

The documentary chronicles about his journey way up as he polished his skills in the tape-ball cricket, something he made a living with.

With tape-ball cricket, players were easily making PKR 200,000 to 250,000 at that time. He remembers investing most of his earnings and giving the rest to mother as they were sharing living spaces for a long time and she always wished for a house of her own.

However, he never told his father that he was earning this much. The highlight of Rauf’s remarkable journey came when he purchased a spacious, luxurious car for his family.

He also spoke of the need to feel aggression to be able to focus on the game.

Haris Rauf became a prominent name in international cricket and is poised to represent Pakistan in his maiden 50-over World Cup. With experience in two editions of the T20 World Cup, Rauf, now a seasoned player, is no stranger to cricket’s grand stage. In 28 ODIs, he has showcased his bowling prowess, amassing 53 wickets at an economy rate of 5.68, including four four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul.

India, while chasing 253, needed a mere nine runs from the final two overs with three wickets in hand and a set batter Robin Singh on the crease. Then, in a stunning turn of events, Henry Olonga emerged as the game-changer as he returned to the attack and picked the final three wickets in a whirlwind over.

Robin Singh fell for a valiant 35, followed by a breathless sequence that saw Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad departing, leaving India all out for 249. Prior to that, Zimbabwe had been propelled to 252 by an exceptional innings from Andy Flower, who remained unbeaten at 68 and was supported by his brother Grant Flower’s innings of 45.

Ireland vs. Pakistan (2007)

On St. Patrick’s Day in 2007, Pakistan collided with Ireland in a group match amidst rainy conditions after losing to hosts West Indies in their opening game. The match was expected to be a walkover by the experienced Pakistan side; however, Irish pace bowlers capitalized on the conditions, restricting Pakistan to a mere 132. With only four Pakistani players reaching double digits, it was a staggering display by Ireland’s pace attack led by Boyd Rankin 3-32. Ireland handed a revised target of 128, defied expectations as Niall O’Brien’s heroics steered them to an improbable win, sending shockwaves through the cricketing world.

Kenya vs. Sri Lanka (2003)

The 2003 World Cup witnessed a story for the ages – Kenya’s astonishing run to the semi-finals. Labelled minnows, Kenya’s determination and hard work defied all odds as they became the only non-test playing nation to play a World Cup semi-final.

In a crucial group encounter with Sri Lanka, they posted 210, thanks to a gutsy 60 off 88 by opening batter Kennedy Otieno. Sri Lanka, boasting an array of top batters, seemed poised for victory. However, Collins Obuya, rained on their parade with a spellbinding 5-24, helping his side dismantle Sri Lanka for a mere 157. It stands as one of cricket’s most cherished underdog victories.

Bangladesh vs. India (2007)

India, boasting a star-studded lineup, faced a spirited Bangladesh side in World Cup 2007. Indian captain Rahul Dravid’s decision to bat on a challenging Trinidad wicket backfired spectacularly as a strong India batting lineup crumbled for 191 despite Sourav Ganguly’s 66. Bangladesh bowlers Mashafe Mortaza, Mohammad Rafique, and Abdul Razzak shared ten wickets. Bangladesh chased the total at the loss of five wickets, courtesy of half-centuries by Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan, who went on to become mainstays of Bangladesh batting after this historic win.

Internet Not Impressed With Saba Qamar’s High Fashion Shoot

Actor Saba Qamar looks unrecognisable in her ‘space siren’ photoshoot, drawing both applause and criticism.

The shoot featured an avant-garde and unconventional look that did not sit well with all her admirers.

Saba Qamar’s edgy appearance included a black bejewelled corset top paired with sleek black pants, opera gloves, and retro shades.

Her next ensemble showcased her in a black miniskirt, coordinated crop top, and a cutout blazer, accentuated by knee-high boots, a silver chain belt, and an eyeglass chain for her sunglasses. To complete her striking look, she was given glossy vintage curls, a nod to the Y2K era, and metallic eye makeup.

She wrote, “You thought you’d alienate me, I’d flip, I rise from the ashes, just a small dip. Topple me over with your glitchy gimmick? Beat you at your own game, I’m the biggest mimic. I had a few tricks up my sleeve, little did you know, Now take a backseat babe, ’cause it’s a solo show.”

The shoot’s high-fashion approach seemed to miss the mark for some in the audience.

One user couldn’t resist poking fun at the actress, questioning how she had reached a point where she accepted shoots that seemed beneath her established reputation for traditional, feminine, and elegant looks.

Another user expressed humour with a touch of irony, remarking that Saba Qamar had been made to look “ugly” with incredible finesse.

For some fans, the photoshoot was a disappointment, with one lamenting that Saba Qamar, who was a favourite actor, had let her down with this unconventional choice.

However, not all reactions were negative as many from the industry were pleasantly surprised by her bold experimentation and complemented her for pushing the boundaries of her image.

In the credits for the photoshoot, Saba Qamar acknowledged the creative team behind the stunning visuals: Photography and Post-production were handled by Mngopro, while the concept, styling, and coordination were executed by Gulshan Majeed. The transformational hair and makeup for the shoot were crafted by Ayan Khan. The wardrobe choices that contributed to Saba Qamar’s look were curated from Bluemorpho by SHF.

Dawlance has recently completed a Design Export project to provide Research and development services to Singer – the market leader of home appliances in Bangladesh, which is also a subsidiary of Arcelik.

Since Bangladesh and Pakistan have similar industrial and economic conditions, this project will play a vital role in the mutual cooperation and growth of the two countries. As Dawlance aimed to provide the designs of four different refrigerators to Singer in Bangladesh, each model is enriched with different technologies like; Low Voltage Stabilization (LVS), Soft Door-Closing, Odor Filter, Nutrilock (Enhance Vitamins inside Crisper box), Freshology (Keeping Fruits & Vegetable fresh for 20 Days), Inverter Technology, and Quick-Cool Technology.

This project has been assessed at a substantial value of 2.6 million US Dollars, yielding an impressive revenue of 186,000 US Dollars for Dawlance Pakistan. The project’s duration was 80 weeks, with 7,465 Man-hours. Dawlance was selected to design products for Bangladesh because it has great expertise in static refrigerator design. Dawlance products are trusted to meet the specific needs of customers in South Asia and show robust performance in harsh weather conditions while conserving electricity in this energy-starved region. Dawlance has been granted more projects of a similar nature in future because it is considered as a technological hub for static-type refrigerators in the South Asia region.

A team of Dawlance managers and engineers visited the Singer factory in Bangladesh to participate in the launch ceremony. The spokesperson of Dawlance stated that: “Dawlance’s design contributions to another subsidiary, Singer, in Bangladesh, stands as a resounding testament to the triumph of design export, exemplifying the seamless integration of expertise, innovation, and cross-border cooperation, leading to remarkable success in enhancing global collaboration and diversification. These products have been well appreciated in the market because of the Health features like Nutrilock, Freshology and Odor filter, along with Quick Cooling, and modern design. Through this project, Dawlance is also generating valuable foreign exchange for Pakistan.”

Arcelik has already established 80 subsidiaries in 52 countries, along with 30 production facilities, while it also operates 29 R&D and Design Centers across the world. In Pakistan, Dawlance was acquired by Arcelik in the year 2016, with an investment of 258 million US Dollars. To foster innovations in Pakistan, Arcelik has made another special investment in Pakistan to establish the ‘Arcelik Global Research & Development (R&D) Center’, at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), in Islamabad.

In 2017, Dawlance achieved its transition to low GWP refrigerant design (R600a) and later in the year 2019 its first platform Project URIL REF was set up in collaboration with local and Turkish engineers, to enable technology transfer for Pakistan’s self-reliance in refrigerator design. In 2020, the REF Platform design project was undertaken, solely by Dawlance engineers in Pakistan.

The Singer manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh were acquired by Arcelik in the year 2019, with an investment of 75 million US Dollars. This venture aimed to replace the Chinese-imported CKD products in Bangladesh with locally-produced home appliances. The first platform refrigerator was designed by Turkish Engineers in the year 2020. After that, Dawlance was taken on board for further platform Products.

Ken Doll Has A Public Service Message For Hijabi Girls

Adnan Zafar, popularly recognised as the ‘Pakistani Ken Doll,’ has emerged as an unexpected advocate for a crucial issue often overlooked by many women who wear burqas: regular washing.

In a society where expressing reservations about the burqa is typically taboo, Zafar boldly stepped forward to highlight this important aspect of maintaining hygiene.

In a heartfelt video posted on his Instagram account, the Pakistani-British influencer delivered a public service message to hijabi girls and women.

“Wearing a burqa is a commendable practice, but it’s as important to maintain its cleanliness by washing it,” Zafar urges in his video.

He continues, “My dearest, don’t make things difficult for everyone. wash your burqa at least once a week to keep it fresh. Consider using fabric conditioner to keep your burqa soft and pleasant. i won’t name any but soak your burqa nicely,” the TikToker did not hesitate to get candid about the right way to clean burqa.

“Remember, a burqa is made of fabric, and like any fabric, it is not sweat-proof,” he went on.

He goes on to explain, “Repeated wearing and removing without proper cleaning can accumulate unpleasant odors and make it unbearable for everyone around you. Be hygienic so that people can admire your aura and freshness.”

Here’s the video:

Zafar’s approach has garnered widespread appreciation, with many individuals commending him for addressing a subject that is often met with silence or resistance.

One person shared her experience, stating that when she attempted to advise someone on this matter, the person got upset, highlighting the need for influencers like Zafar to broach the topic.

Another commenter echoed the sentiment that Zafar’s message is a necessity in the current times and encouraged him to create more videos on hygiene-related topics.

Yet another individual expressed a desire to share Zafar’s video with her office group.

One supporter lauded Adnan Zafar and regretted that it is too risky to tag people who urgently needed to hear this crucial message.

A commenter suggested that washing the hijab every three days might be even more effective than once-a-week.

Not Virat Kohli! Shadab Khan Names His Favourite Indian Batter

not-virat-kohli-shadab-khan-names-favorite-indian-batter

All-rounder Shadab Khan made an intriguing revelation about his favorite players from the Indian cricket team during his recent press conference in Hyderabad, India. Surprisingly, Virat Kohli was not his answer as his favorite Indian batter.

Shadab Khan’s admiration was reserved for the Indian captain and hard-hitting opening batter, Rohit Sharma.

Khan spoke of Sharma’s formidable presence on the field enthusiastically, emphasizing the immense challenge he poses to bowlers once he finds his rhythm.

“I like Rohit Sharma very much. He is very dangerous once he gets set and it is very difficult to dismiss him,” expressed Khan, shedding light on the dynamic skills of the Indian skipper.

This disclosure sent ripples across social media, given the widely recognized camaraderie between Shadab Khan and Virat Kohli. Their on-field encounters in the Asia Cup 2023 had ignited the internet, making this revelation all the more surprising.

As for his favorite Indian bowler, Shadab Khan named Kuldeep Yadav. The affinity stems from Khan’s own role as a leg-spinner.

“As far as bowler is concerned, I like Kuldeep [Yadav] since I’m a leg-spinner. He is in good form and bowls well despite flat tracks in India,” he added.

Shadab Khan also shed light on his preparation for the ICC World Cup 2023 and expressed his desire to perform at his best.

“I admit I haven’t been in good form lately, and it drained me mentally as I was playing continuously but could not perform at my best,” said Shadab Khan. “However, the past is in the past. The rest I got has made me feel better and I hope to perform at my best during the World Cup for my team with a new mindset.”

Pakistan is currently in Hyderabad, where they are gearing up to kickstart their World Cup 2023 campaign against the Netherlands on October 6.

In a recent meeting held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and the management committee unveiled an ambitious plan to rejuvenate Pakistan’s cricket.

The meeting commenced with discussions on Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team’s new three-year financial model for central contracts, a plan that received unanimous endorsement from the committee members. Zaka Ashraf’s dedication and negotiation skills were lauded as they had played a pivotal role in securing the desired outcome.

One of the key topics on the agenda was addressing the issue of limited international cricket in Pakistan due to hot and humid summers. To overcome this challenge, the committee decided to explore the potential of northern Pakistan as an international cricket venue. Abbottabad Cricket Stadium emerged as a promising candidate.

Abbottabad’s Enchanting Cricket Stadium

Abbottabad is nestled in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Northern Pakistan. It is a city known for its pleasant climate, standing at an elevation of 4,120 feet above sea level. The Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, established by PCB in 2003, was declared a first-class ground in 2010.

What sets this stadium apart is its stunning location amidst towering mountains, offering a picturesque backdrop for cricket enthusiasts. Even cricket legends like Wasim Akram couldn’t help but be captivated by the stadium’s beauty.

Building on this vision, PCB unveiled plans to construct a new pavilion at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. Currently accommodating 4,000 spectators, this enhancement will not only facilitate larger crowds but also turn Abbottabad into a sought-after international cricket destination, drawing tourists during the cricket season.

Infrastructure Upgrades Across Pakistan’s Cricket Stadiums

Furthermore, PCB is embarking on a broader infrastructure overhaul. The board is considering the installation of solar panels across all four international stadiums, ensuring sustainability and energy efficiency.

Moreover, plans are underway to install mist fans in the general enclosures of all stadiums, providing relief to fans during scorching summer matches. Moreover, the digital screens in these stadiums will be upgraded to enhance the overall fan experience.

PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf’s vision is transforming Pakistan cricket. With Abbottabad Cricket Stadium at the forefront of this resurgence. As Pakistan aims to become a hub for international cricket, the board’s commitment to infrastructure development and creating stunning venues like Abbottabad is poised to elevate the country’s cricketing stature on the global stage. With a new financial model, breathtaking venues, and improved facilities, the future of Pakistan cricket looks brighter than ever.
