‘Too Cool For McDonald’s’ Targets All The Hard-Nosed People Out There

McDonald’s latest campaign for Eastern Europe is working on catching the eyes of its audiences who think they are ‘Too Cool for McDonald’s.”

The campaign comes as an extension to the appeal of the ‘Golden Arches.’ The ‘Poker Faces’ editorial features three 30-second films released as a part of a campaign created by TBWA\Latvia. Featuring a fashionista, a goth, and an intellectualist, who try their best to retain a poker face while trying to not give into the temptation of McDonald’s thinking they are too cool for it.

‘Too Cool For McDonald’s’

According to the brand’s press release, the core focus of McDonald’s recent campaign is to emphasize finding new ways to bring their core menu to life. Meanwhile, McDonald’s also vows on increasing the supply of its chicken products including the McCrispy Chicken Sandwich, to increase demand.

“In this campaign, we decided to use an audience that is typically not a McDonald’s target,” Kaspars Eglitis, executive creative director TBWA\Latvia said. “We picked characters who are, on paper, too cool for their good to be seen with a burger. But the force is and always has been strong with the Golden Arches.”

Adding, “The value offer of this campaign was very appealing both price- and product-wise. With the working title “Poker Faces,” the creative stories evolve around three hard-nosed, stiff-upper-lip folks getting through the impossible struggle. And quite a fight it is.”

Pakistanis Lose Their Calm After Petrol & Diesel Prices Increase

It is not new for the citizens of Pakistan to deal with high inflation on a daily basis. Petrol prices are constantly fluctuating and people are learning to deal with the changes, however, this time the increase in petrol and diesel prices is unbearable. Ishaq Dar, the Finance Minister, said on Sunday that the price of gasoline and diesel will increase by Rs35 per liter as of today at 11 a.m. as a result of the rupee’s depreciation against the dollar. Dar also declared that the price of kerosene oil and light diesel oil had raised by Rs18 per liter in a televised speech.

Petrol prices in Pakistan

Just after the currency hit an all-time low this week and just days before the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visits Pakistan to discuss the postponed ninth review of Pakistan’s funding program, prices for gasoline and diesel have increased again, and that too majorly. Dar stated that “We will have to take the rise in international oil prices and the devaluation of the rupee into account. This rise is being done immediately on the recommendation of the oil and gas regulatory authority who said there were reports of artificial shortages and hoarding of fuel in anticipation of price rises – hence this price rise is being done immediately to combat this.”

After this current announcement, long lines of people were seen at multiple petrol pumps in order to get their tanks full.

Reactions

Soon after the revision of prices was announced, a wave of frustration was sent through the public. Their anger could be seen on different social media platforms, especially Twitter. Many hashtags regarding the current petrol fiasco and mocking the government started to trend on Twitter. “How will the poor survive? Why [is] this nation so insensitive about the simple question of the life of poor and middle classes,” Shabbar Zaidi, the former chairman of Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Revenue, posted on Twitter.

The general public had the same reactions. People have begun to feel extremely cornered since life is becoming very difficult for them due to continuous inflation. Electricity blackouts, low to no gas, no water, expensive food, and now expensive petrol have forced people to either cry or burn petrol pumps to the ground.

Many people across the nation have planned protests to take place today in order to show resentment to the government and its incapability to handle the economic downturn.

The public has also been comparing the old government of Imran Khan and this new PDM government. They have stated that they do want “Purana Pakistan” and prefer “Naya Pakistan”. Former prime minister Imran Khan also tweeted about the situation and the people seem to agree with him.

OGRA Takes Action

In the meantime, OGRA officials announced that those responsible for closing down gas stations in several cities will face consequences. According to the officials, the licenses of individuals who shut off the pumps would be suspended. The officials said that the regulator is receiving assistance in this regard from the district administration via the provincial chief secretaries. They also said that the situation would be rectified quickly. Some gas stations had large lineups outside the day before the increase because people were filling up their tanks out of fear that prices will shortly go up.

Due to the Pakistani rupee’s sharp decline in value, the cost of imported commodities will increase even though the country is currently experiencing a balance of payments crisis. A significant portion of Pakistan’s import bill is made up of energy. Pakistan needs the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to visit successfully since the country has less than three weeks’ worth of import coverage in its foreign exchange reserves and is in severe need of external finance.

Nabiha Ayub Talks About How She Was Emotionally Abused By Her Husband

After many TikTokers like Shahtaj Khan and Esha Hussain came out with divorce stories, another girl has come out with her story on The Insta Show with Mathira. Nabiha Ayub has gained followers on TikTok and on Instagram because of her videos. Recently she appeared on the Mathira show on Bol TV and shared some personal details about her life.

Nabiha revealed that she was married and the mother of a boy. She admitted that she was, in fact, the second wife of a government employee in the excise department. Her husband had two kids from an earlier union. At the time, she thought it strange that his family wasn’t more accepting of the proposal, but she didn’t find out her husband was already married and the father of two children until their nikkah.

Nabiha asserted that she made an exception because, in her opinion, a man getting married twice is not a big deal. However, issues started to appear just when she anticipated. She broke down in tears while discussing her husband on television since it is still difficult for her to open up. Nabiha clarified that despite her spouse never physically abusing her, she suffered through severe emotional torture. By making advances on her friends in front of her, her husband tortured her.

She is happy that she has finally healed. As Nabiha shared what she had gone through at this point, tears started to fall from her eyes.

Andrew Tate Bashes Romanian Government & Justice System

30th January 2023. After a judge referred to the “special dangerousness” of internet personality and his brother Tristan in terms of their ability to target women, Andrew Tate reaffirmed that there is no justice in Romania. The judge also mentioned their “ability and effort to exercise permanent psychological control over the victims… particularly by resorting to constant acts of violence,” according to the BBC.

The judge explained his justifications for extending the boys’ incarceration last week in a written statement from the main court in Bucharest. Andrew Tate posted on Twitter, “A communist nation is Romania. There is no proof or evidence—only suspicions. They’ll try to convict you of crimes and put you up in jail. Your life will be wasted as a result of their failure. Release you after many years without even saying sorry.”

While authorities look into claims of rape and human trafficking, Andrew Tate and his brother will remain in detention for an additional 30 days, or until February 27. Both contest the accusations. Along with them, two Romanian ladies who are intimately related to them are being detained. The four allegedly made up an organized criminal group in early 2021, according to investigators, that was formed to “recruit.. shelter and transport victims…in order to obtain significant sums of money by compelling victims to participate in pornographic events” that were posted on websites like TikTok and Only Fans.

13 Jan 2023: New voice notes of Andrew Tate have been leaked to the public eye and people have been feeling disgusted and angry. This isn’t the first time when Tate has managed to turn the world against him. The 36-year-old recently got arrested by the Romanian police under the charges of sex trafficking. Previously, Tate had still been in the bad books of the public, mainly because of his offensive and misogynistic statements. Recently, an audio leak has been added to the list of “Reasons to hate Andrew Tate”. Following is the video of the audio.

TW: The video does contain graphic details and could be triggering so viewer discretion is highly advised.

Different reactions have been seen on social media to the audio. However, the majority of the public is absolutely boiling and is aggravated. Previously, Tate had two categories of “fans” – Women who were extremely “feminist” and men who were inspired by Andrew Tate and his teaching. But this audio has triggered all sorts of people across the world.

This is not the first time Andrew Tate has talked negatively about women. In early 2022, clips of Tate had been circulating on social media where he explicitly explained how he would treat a girl.

Due to the fact that men typically buy expensive and potent items, cars can also be perceived as a means for men to flaunt their masculinity. Men may not find comfort in other places, but driving a car might give them a sense of security in the face of an intimidating outside world.

Meet Andrew Tate, a divisive social media star, lost 11 of his 33 automobiles to the Romanian Police after boasting about his car collection to climate activist Greta Thunberg. According to reports, Tate was a professional kickboxer with 76 wins and nine losses during his career. Tate is well-known for his contentious behaviour on social media.

Here’s his conversation with Greta Thunberg

In a Twitter thread, he showed off his luxury car collection and mockingly asked Greta, “Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.” This tweet soon gained popularity across the globe with 3.5 million likes and 650,000 direct shares. Greta was soon to reply and said, “Yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.”

After this controversial yet talk-of-the-town faceoff, soon Andrew Tate’s 11 cars (worth over five million euros), as well as many buildings, including one where the brothers allegedly kept six young ladies, had been seized by the police. This was also just after he got pressed with charges of human trafficking, abuse, and holding girls hostage at his house. Which of these matters led to police involvement is not clear as of yet.

However, here is a breakdown of some of Tate’s cars that were seized in Bucharest on the 29th of December.

1. Bugatti Chiron ($2,900,000)

2. Rolls Royce Wraith from The Black Badge Collection ($300,000)

3. Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate ($250,000)

3. Ferrari 812 Superfast ($250,000)

4. Ferrari 458 Italia ($250,000)

5. Porsche GT Street ($160,000)

Tate has managed to build a collection of 33 luxury cars that sum up to a whopping amount of $7,500,000. These were some of the cars amongst the 11 cars that were taken under police custody from Andrew Tate’s property in Bucharest, Romania.

Recent Economic Conditions Survey From ACCA And IMA Shows A Steady But Weak Global Economy

The Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) for Q4 indicates signs of stabilisation, but several indicators are still lower than they were in Q4 of last year. The good news is that the GECS Confidence Index increased modestly for the second consecutive quarter. This may be due to anticipation that the worst of the central bank tightening may soon be over and that China may be able to lift its zero-COVID limitations.

However, since 2012, the Confidence Index has been below its median reading. The other three economic indicators—new orders, capital expenditures (CapEx), and employment—don’t offer much good news. CapEx increased slightly but is still below the median for the same time period; new orders and employment continued to deteriorate modestly.

Overall, the findings are in line with a meek macroeconomic prognosis. The good news is that, despite the fact that this is the base case scenario for many economists, they do not yet appear to be at levels that are consistent with a full-blown global recession in 2023.

The two GECS “Fear” indexes, which indicate respondents’ worries that clients and/or suppliers might go out of business, serve as a useful cross-check. Fortunately, despite the steep increase in borrowing costs and the likelihood of negative corporate earnings growth in 2023, these remained mostly unchanged from the 2022 Q3 survey.

What strikes out is the growth in trust in wealthy countries, both in Western Europe and North America, according to Assad Hameed Khan, head of ACCA Pakistan. The increase in confidence is likely due to optimism that the situation in Russia and Ukraine will be managed and that there would be enough natural gas to get Europe through what is now more than likely to be a mild winter. However, if one looks at the weaker emerging markets (particularly Pakistan), 2023 may still be a difficult year as seen by the mounting concerns about sovereign credit and requests for help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Additionally, the central bank continues to face pressure for continued higher interest rates, monetary tightening, and limitations on foreign exchange transactions (slowing GDP even more).

“Global confidence has moved up for the second consecutive quarter as cost concerns have eased and with anxieties about obtaining credit and getting fast payment have not gotten any worse,” said Loreal Jiles, vice president of research and thought leadership at IMA.

“Given the world’s central banks’ recent swift tightening of monetary policy, this comes as a bit of a surprise. In terms of pace, scope, and breadth, the past year has seen the most aggressive tightening of policy in more than 40 years. It’s odd that this hasn’t yet had a significant effect on the availability of finance and cash flows for businesses. But because of the lengthy and unpredictable lags involved in monetary policy, this issue might worsen later in 2023.

Three significant uncertainties affect the world economy.
First, has the level of tightness implemented by central banks been overdone or underdone?

Second, is it possible for China to implement a smooth transition from zero-COVID without further lockdowns?

Third, will wage pressures subside without significantly damaging the labour market?

Whether the combination of early retirement, protracted ill health, and the shift to hybrid working has significantly affected the balance of power between employers and employees is one of the unanswered concerns from the COVID crisis. It might be more difficult for central banks to achieve their 2% objective for core inflation as a result of these altered employment-market dynamics.

As 2023 goes on, the answers to each of these queries will become much more obvious.

A Coca-Cola Phone? Who Is The Mystery Maker?

Source: 9to5google

Coca-Cola looks to be preparing a new cooperation with an established smartphone manufacturer, which may be the newest entry to the list of “strange phones from unexpected companies.” A rendering of the Cola phone has gone viral online, showing a dual camera configuration, the recognizable red hue and the emblem of the fizzy drink brand.

Perhaps not many people are interested in the thought of a phone having Coca-Cola branding on it. But a recent research indicates that it’s still happening.

Rumors or what?

According to leaker Mukul Sharma, who said on Twitter that the Coca-Cola-branded phone will be released this quarter, it will be available relatively soon. According to the tweet, in order to get the product to market, the sugar water firm is collaborating with a business that is better experienced in producing phones.

There is a real Cola-phone Global Twitter account that is followed by 8 additional accounts belonging to different smartphone manufacturers. One of the speculative scenarios is that the Cola phone will be a renamed member of the Realme 10 series, most likely the stock realme 10 model. In India, the Cola phone should soon go on sale.

A new marketing strategy

Coca-Cola is one of the most well-known brands in the world, therefore it’s safe to say that it has some knowledge of effective international marketing. Despite being over a century old, Coke continues to dominate the market in terms of product sales, marketing, and brand positioning.

With that being said, the brand has decided to launch its phone in India first, catering to a market of over 1.5 billion people. The idea of launching a phone is not to enter the phone market which is infested by many big fishes such as apple, Samsung, Oppo and many others but as a part of a marketing and branding strategy.

From what we know, the phone is pretty basic and is also being heavily compared to realme designs but it fulfills the purpose of creating a buzz in the air. It is a part of the numerous successful campaigns run by the company such as “Share a coke” which was a huge success, now the question arises how will this move from Coca-Cola play out?

What do you think of this potential alliance and the phone with the Coca-Cola theme? Comment your thoughts.

Will Musicians Compose Songs Using AI In The Future?

Will Musicians Compose Songs Using AI In The Future?

Now that machine learning is being used to grasp the sounds, patterns, and genres of music and lyrics, artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing us the next generation of electronic music.

This method was utilized to generate “The official Tokyo 2020 beat,” in which an Intel AI composed hundreds of choices using thousands of bits of music with themes related to sports, Japanese culture, daily life, and nature. The final version was ultimately picked by the Japanese people.

We are listening to AI music

Beginning in the UK, JukeDeck is an AI music start-up that just was purchased by TikTok. JukeDeck automatically interprets video and sets music to it. AI music is emerging as a new business, with start-ups developing quicker and simpler music creation tools. Following David Bowie’s lead with the song Hallo Spaceboy from the 1990s, several music artists are experimenting with AI for lyric creation.

AI's Growing Role in Musical Composition | by Synced | SyncedReview | Medium
Source: Median

Others, like Grimes on the song “So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth – Art Mix,” are employing AI to create novel neural synthesizer sounds. Then there are those like Taryn Southern with I AM AI who use AI to make entire albums.

How hard is it to create AI music

Artificial neural networks, which are very vast sets of computer components, are used by music AIs to try to replicate how the brain functions. And you can essentially bombard this neural network with music in order to train it to recognize patterns, just way the human brain does when it is constantly exposed to new information.

Modern neural networks are challenging because they keep growing in size. And it’s getting more and more difficult for us to comprehend what they’re doing.

Additionally, these neural networks use a lot of energy. For example, if you want to teach AI to analyze pop music over the previous 20 years, you would need to input all that data and use a lot of power to analyze it and create a new song. We’ll eventually have to consider if the environmental cost of this new music justifies it.

Will AI beat human music composition?

It won’t be long until a machine can be used to create fresh versions of every musical genre that are identical to human-composed works, with AI advancements showing no signs of slowing down.

AI in Music: AI is The Next to be the Future Music Producer and Composer – IndustryWired

AI is even capable of innovation, developing fresh ideas and investigating previously unheard noises. But music is all about communication, just like our languages. AI today has all the skills but no words. Its actual worth can only be felt when we utilize it to express ourselves.

Are Cough Syrups Causing Children To Die? WHO Investigates

Are Cough Syrups Causing Children To Die? WHO Investigates

Cough syrups are very common in the world right now. These medications help people cure themselves at home when they have the common flu, cold, and cough. However, such medication is very concentrated and should only be taken in the prescribed amount and misuse can be fatal. WHO has recently discovered that cough syrups might be linked to children’s deaths. According to a person familiar with the situation who spoke to Reuters, the World Health Organization (WHO) is looking into if there is any connection between the manufacturers whose tainted cough syrups it has linked to the deaths of more than 300 children in three countries according to Reuters.

The WHO is looking for more information about the specific raw materials used by six manufacturers in India and Indonesia to produce the medicines linked to the recent deaths, as well as whether the businesses obtained them from some of the same suppliers, the person said, citing “unacceptable levels” of toxins in the products. The WHO has not identified any vendors yet.

Recognized Symptoms

Beginning in Gambia in July 2022, cases of pediatric acute kidney injury spread to Indonesia and Uzbekistan. According to the WHO, the deaths were caused by youngsters using over-the-counter cough syrups for common illnesses that included either diethylene glycol or ethylene glycol, two known toxins. The WHO has so far identified six medicine manufacturers who made the syrups in Indonesia and India. These producers either chose not to comment on the inquiry or denied utilizing contaminated products that were a factor in any fatalities. The corporations the WHO has named are not guilty of any misconduct, according to Reuters.

Diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol, which the WHO described as “toxic compounds used as industrial solvents and antifreeze agents that can be lethal even in little levels,” were found to be present in the syrups. Their poisonous effects include death, renal damage, and the inability to pass urine.

Repercussions Being Taken

WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris said, “This is of the highest priority for us, to see no more child deaths from something that is so preventable,”  without commenting further on the details of the organization’s work.

The United Nations health agency announced on Monday that it had expanded its inquiry to four new nations: Cambodia, the Philippines, East Timor, and Senegal, where the same goods may have been sold. It urged other countries and the international pharmaceutical sector to conduct immediate audits in order to weed out inferior medications and strengthen control.

In October 2022 and earlier this month, the WHO issued specific alerts for cough syrups produced by two Indian companies, Maiden Pharmaceuticals, and Marion Biotech. According to the notifications, the use of these syrups had been related to deaths in the Gambia and Uzbekistan, respectively. The manufacturing facilities in Marion and Maiden have both been shut down. After the Indian government announced in December that its testing had discovered no issues with Maiden’s products, Maiden is now attempting to reopen.

The rising fatalities

The fatalities have drawn attention to possible weaknesses in the global regulation of routinely used drugs, including control of manufacturing facilities and supply chains, particularly those producing goods for developing nations that lack the means to monitor the safety of pharmaceuticals.

However, unfortunately, the WHO establishes worldwide standards for the manufacture of medicines and aids nations in their investigations of any flaws, but it lacks the mission or enforcement power to prosecute offenders directly.

Two EV vehicles have been discovered in the wild, and one of the test cars appears to have been driven by Lei Jun. To put it another way, he tested the new car himself. Although we can discern the general shape of the automobile from these photographs, it is clear that Xiaomi has disguised the majority of the design features of this next electric vehicle. Consequently, we may anticipate that the Xiaomi Car will be a sporty sedan-class car.

What can we expect

Based on the most recent sighting, the blogger also said that a LiDAR sensor was located on the car’s roof, suggesting that it may include driver assistance or self-driving (autonomous) technology. The company’s first EV is anticipated to be a medium-sized sedan that will arrive in two separate models, while specific specifics about this vehicle are currently unknown. Additionally, the vehicle is reported to be unveiled at some point this year, with the first sales starting around 2024.

Additionally, the front features two oval-shaped headlights. The rear bumpers, meanwhile, imitate side air vents in a similar way. The design is also rather simple and aerodynamic. At the rear, there are no more noteworthy elements. Although it had been assumed that Xiaomi and BYD were together working on this project, a list of suppliers was also disclosed, and BAIC was identified as one of the vendors that will help the firm produce one of the body pieces.

This Smart Walking Stick Could Help Visually-Impaired People

People who are blind or partially sighted may find it simpler to move around in their daily lives thanks to artificial intelligence and smart technologies. Engineers at the University of Colorado–Boulder are developing a “smart” walking stick that would assist the blind in doing daily chores like finding a seat and grocery shopping. The gadget combines “assistive technology meets Silicon Valley,” according to the study’s authors.

The walking stick first appears to be a typical cane that you can purchase online. However, if you look closely, you’ll see a number of improvements made with the aid of computer and camera technologies. The walking stick actively maps the immediate region using a camera and computer, and then employs vibrations in the handle to direct people to their desired location. Additionally, the cane has a voice assistant that can give instructions like “stretch a little bit to your right.”

Opening gates for other AI-integrated products

The smart cane may assist millions of Americans in becoming more independent, even if it is not intended to take the place of the duty of making public spaces handicap accessible.

AI and computer vision are developing, and they are being used to create self-driving vehicles and other innovations, but they also have the potential to significantly raise the standard of living for a large number of people.

How is it really a game changer

Imagine that you are in a café. You don’t want to choose any old chair. To protect your privacy, you often stay away from the walls, and you avoid sitting next to strangers if possible.

According to an earlier study, these straightforward choices put a lot of strain on a blind or visually impaired individual. To test if the smart walking stick may make the solution to this seated issue more straightforward, the study’s authors converted their facility into a temporary café. This required the addition of several chairs, customers, and a few barriers like signs that are often present in cafés.

It can help out with groceries

The expansion of the kinds of situations in which people could utilize a cane is another direction the study’s authors are headed. In an unpublished study, Agrawal, an AI researcher, and his co-authors had participants explore grocery shops for a certain item while using a cane. Once more, the facility was transformed into a temporary grocery shop with shelves loaded with various cereals. In the program, the authors built a database of product images, such as boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios or Apple Jacks to find the precise item the user was seeking, and the walking stick searched the shelves.

Although the innovation seems intriguing, it won’t be available to the general public for some time. The authors of the research intend to make certain adjustments, such as making it more streamlined and compact. Users might connect a basic smartphone rather than a large camera to the cane because of its compactness.

Religious Anchor Junaid Iqbal Bashes Ayesha Mano For Her Viral Video

Ayesha Mano has been the talk of the town for the past few months. She went viral for her dance video on the old song, “Mera Dil Ye Pukarey Aaja”. She had been posting videos on TikTok for over a year but her famous era began after the Pakistani public loved her dance. Her video received over 20 million+ views and over 2 million+ likes. She gained popularity not just in Pakistan but also across the border and in other neighboring countries. You can watch the video right here.

As the caption suggests Ayesha has received mixed reactions from the audience. As much as people loved her dance, many people also thought of it as vulgar and against the culture of Pakistan. Amongst those many people, there was senior religious anchor Muhammad Junaid Iqbal. He usually speaks about religious matters on his Instagram in short videos.

Ayesha was recently the target of an attack by the well-known religious scholar Junaid Iqbal. “At least, you could have respected your name, you have such a pious name like Ayesha but you didn’t even care about your name, shame on the people who have made her an icon and presented her as a hero, this is the lowest of the society that a girl is dancing and her family is enjoying her dance moves, the society has gone to its lowest, not only this but she is being portrayed as an icon and she was invited to a party,” the religious scholar yelled at the video. Here is the video that Junaid Iqbal was upset about.

The majority of the people have been agreeing with the scholar, however, very few of them have also been showing disagreement. Like this one.

Jazz & Kistpay Collaborate To Offer Budget-Friendly Smartphones With Convenient Payment Plans

Jazz & Kistpay Collaborate To Offer Budget-Friendly Smartphones With Convenient Payment Plans

By partnering with Kistpay, a Shariah-compliant finance platform, Jazz, Pakistan’s top digital operator and a member of the VEON Group, will offer its customers simple instalment plans for smartphones.

The goal of this partnership is to increase the number of middle-class and low-income persons who possess smartphones by providing simple installment-based and Shariah-compliant financing options. Customers can purchase smartphones using either the three-month plan or the six-month plan by going to the closest Jazz experience centre, starting at just PKR 2243 per month.

Asif Aziz, Jazz’s Chief Commercial Officer, remarked during the signing ceremony, “This alliance is an extremely significant step towards reaching our ‘4G for All’ ambition. Smartphone ownership is a crucial component of the digital economy, and by offering installment-based financing options for smartphone purchases, this joint endeavour will increase the purchasing power of underserved and unserved groups.
“We are happy to work with Jazz again to bring ease of access and ownership of smartphones to all our countrymen, including the youth and women,” stated Asif Jafri, CEO of Kistpay. We are optimistic that this collaboration will foster the development of the digital economy and strengthen our rural areas.

Virtually attending the signing ceremony, Julian Gorman, Head of Asia Pacific, GSMA, praised the work made by both organisations to help Pakistan overcome the pricing barrier for devices.
Jazz has undertaken a number of initiatives to increase the advantages of mobile broadband, especially among low-income segments in Pakistan. However, the cost of smartphones continues to be a major barrier to mobile ownership and the adoption of mobile internet, particularly for women and rural populations. The GSMA, the association for mobile network carriers, acknowledged the introduction of Jazz Digit 4G smart feature phones last year.
The company’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as SDG 5 on gender equality, SDG 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and SDG 10 on reduced inequalities, is also reflected in this relationship.
