While Shan has managed to dominate the food industry its take on societal roles and its relationship to food has always been pivotal. Shan has managed to roll out some of the most iconic TVCs over the decades. Needless to say, each commercial always tends to leave an impact on its viewers. This time, Shan has managed to do the same and has started a conversation that only seems arbitrary given the times we live in.

Shan’s Latest TVC

As 2023 started, Shan released another TVC which started a much-needed conversation about breaking stereotypes. The commercial was launched after a series of small clips were shared on Shan’s platform with the hashtag #khushiyanBananeWali. The campaign talks about the role of our mothers and housewives who work day and night to make their homes what they are. From cooking food to setting tables and celebrating events, all they worry about is house chores without getting the proper time to take part in the celebrations wholeheartedly.

This campaign has managed to shed a light on the roles of housewives and mothers from a perspective probably never seen before. Needless to say that the TVC will make you emotional and teary-eyed. So without further ado take a look at it below.

Housewives Are Workers Too?

The old notion that housewives have no job is decades old. Meanwhile, patriarchal norms have made it more difficult to shed a light on the problem. However, it is only the beginning and the discussion still has a long way to go. Housewives who are stay-at-home mothers manage to work day and night without any time off. Something as timid as it sounds it is mind-Boggling once we realize that chores are no less than a job and housewives are not worth anything less than those who work in the offices.

With this campaign, Shan is raising its voice to help people understand what mothers and housewives go through daily. While it is something that has been neglected and avoided, now is the time to put a different spin on the same perspective and Shan has done it amazingly.

Where was it first seen?

The Afeela, which has rounded sides and a sleek black roof, was first shown off by Sony at the CES 2023 technology trade event in Las Vegas. The vehicle will make use of Qualcomm Inc.’s “Snapdragon” digital chassis and other hardware components.

On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the rates for the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand beginning on January 9.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for the three Pakistan vs. New Zealand One-Day Internationals at the National Bank Cricket Arena are now on sale online at www.pcb.bookme.pk, according to PCB.

Easypaisa, Jazz Cash, credit or debit cards, bank transfers, and other payment options are available to fans for ticket purchases.

General enclosures:

PKR 250 (Nasim-ul-Ghani, Iqbal Qasim, Mohammad Brothers, Intikhab Alam and Wasim Bari).

Asif Iqbal, Waqar Hasan, and Majid Khan pay PKR500 for first-class, and PKR750 for premium (Imran Khan, Quaid, Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas).

VIP:

In a similar instance, Zara Noor was trolled for her recent Umrah. Where netizens called her out for having double standards. They specifically claimed that there is no point in being an actress and performing Umrah at the year’s end when all they do is spread vulgarity all year round.

However, since the US first forbade Huawei from selling smartphones there and subsequently shut down its network equipment business, its business suffered significantly. Recently, Huawei reported a 7.2% increase in revenue over the prior year, or around $27.4 billion, for the fourth quarter of 2022. According to a Bloomberg article, Huawei’s full-year revenues were slightly higher than in 2021 at around CNY 636.9 billion (or $92.3 billion).

“It’s been big for me but I’m a small part of the entire setup. It’s essentially been a big year for Pakistani cinema as a whole. The kind of business this film has done, the kind of boundaries it has pushed, as far as the industry standards and business and even the style of filmmaking is concerned, it’s going to have a profound effect on the years to come. It’s been very long since the second coming of the industry and for it to travel so far and wide across the globe.”

Maula Jatt Is Not Gracing The Screens In India Anytime Soon

After getting massive recognition from across the border, ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ was scheduled to release in Indian cinemas in late December. However, in recent news, the release of the Pakistani hit has been postponed indefinitely by the Central Board of Film Certification in India.

The advancement took place after Zee Studios had already acquired a clearance for The Legend Of Maula Jatt from the Central Board of Film Certification.

The Bilal Lashari masterpiece was originally set to release in the Delhi and Punjab regions in India. Trade experts speculated that the movie could also be released with limited screenings in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and other north Indian cities, given that it received a positive response from the Delhi and Punjab audiences.

“Zee Studios intends to release The Legend Of Maula Jatt primarily in Delhi-NCR and Punjab. And it is a Punjabi film, which is why it will have the best chance in North India.” Economic Times one of the biggest publishing houses in India reported.

Rumour has it that the movie has been postponed as a result of the ban on Pakistani actors and artists in India after the Pulwama attack back in 2019 by the All-Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA). As China gears up to lift its no COVID policy nearly after three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems like the decision is going to be in vain. A rise in COVID-19 cases is being observed all over the world and it is reported that the new omicron BF.7 is more likely the cause behind a sudden surge in the numbers. This puts travelers and people at greater risk once again; making it extremely important for everyone to gear up for other rounds of precautionary measures and masks.

What Is BF.7 Variant?

“Over the last three months, almost 130 Omicron sublineages have been newly detected in China.” Said Xu Wenbo, head of the virus control institute at China’s Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Among those were XXB and BQ.1 and their sublineages, which have been spreading in the US and parts of Europe in recent months as a swarm of subvariants has competed for dominance worldwide. However BA.5.2 and BF.7 remain the main Omicron strains detected in China, Xu said, adding that the varying sublineages would likely circulate together.”

“Any variants, when more transmissible than the previously dominant ones – such as BQ.1, B2.75.2, XBB, CH.1, or BF.7 – definitely represent threats, since they can cause new waves. However, none of these known variants seems to exhibit any particular new risks of more severe symptoms to our knowledge, although that might happen with new variants in the coming future.” He added.

Rising Cases & Testing

In light of the rising worldwide cases countries including the United States, Italy, Japan, India, and Malaysia have announced an increase in the health measures for travelers from China. Pakistan has also started thermal testing travelers and tourists at the airports countrywide. India also has started to instill precautionary measures for its citizens as a likely surge in the covid cases is expected in the country.

Health experts have warned that the sudden surge in the cases can lead to unprecedented mutations in the variants and hence more risk of spreading the infection.

The University of Washington School of Medicine forecasts a major omicron epidemic to unfold in the coming months. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University released a model which shows that the lack of lockdowns and other measures worldwide, has the potential to reach the toll to a daily estimated number of 4.6 million by March 1, 2023.

1. Bilquis Edhi

Bilquis Edhi dies on April 15 at the age 0f 74 in Karachi. The wife of the notable philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, Bilquis Edhi was running one of the biggest welfare foundations in Pakistan after the demise of her husband. Her work is for the books. Meanwhile, the history left behind her will always have a mark on those who were close to her.

2. Nayyara Noor

Nayyara Noor was a renowned veteran Pakistani singer. Also known as Bulbul-e-Pakistan” (Nightingale of Pakistan), Nayyara Noor started her career with radio Pakistan back in 1968. Later she graced the TV screens with her melodious voice. Her contribution to the industry was later recognized as she was awarded the Nigar Award and Pride of Performance as well as three gold medals. The singer left us on August 21, at the age of 71 after fighting a brief period of illness.

3. Arshad Sharif

Arshad Sharif’s demise left the entire journalism fraternity in shock after he was shot dead on October 23 by the Kenyan police in a “mistaken identity” case. His extensive contributions to journalism landed him a ‘Presidential Pride of Performance award in 2019.

4. Aamir Liaquat

Aamir Liaquat’s sudden demise left the entire country in a frenzy after his body was found at his residence in Khudadad Colony on June 9. Leaving at the age of 50 Aamir Liaquat was known as one of the top televangelists in the Pakistani TV industry. His contributions to both the TV industry and political circle were massive and were recognized by people all over the world.

5. Ali Raza Sadpara

The veteran mountaineer Ali Raza made headlines after his demise in Skardu on May 17. Sadpara died while fighting the wounds after he fell from the cliff which left him seriously injured. In his career, he was able to submit the Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, and Nanga Parbat.

6. Rehman Malik

The notable Pakistani politician Rehman Malik lost his life to Covid-19 on February 23 at the age of 70. The former interior minister had served on the seat for tenure from 2008- 2013.

7. Ismail Tara

Ismail Tara a famous Pakistani comedian known for his hit comedic roles left us on November 24 at the age of 73 after suffering from kidney failure. While he landed himself roles in some of the biggest TV dramas and comedy shows – fifty-fifty has yet to be the most hit number he appeared to date.

8. Stephen “tWitch” Boss

Twitch lost his life to suicide after his body was found on the bathroom floor of his hotel room on Dec.13. According to reports, Twitch died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Boss started his career with the television hit “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2008 and later became a long runner on the Ellen show.

9. Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar or the Queen of Bollywood music left the world after suffering from multiple organ failure in February 2022. The 92-year-old singer has made extraordinary contributions to the music industry and left a legacy that will surely stand the test of time.
