Reasons Why Caffeine Doesn’t Affect You

Around two billion cups of coffee are consumed daily by individuals all over the world, yet some folks just don’t grasp the buzz. They don’t experience the energy boost that caffeine is supposed to cause, or even worse, coffee merely makes them uneasy and ill. There are several reasons why caffeine could not have the desired impact, including high and low sensitivity. Your genes are just one of them!

You might be too used to caffeine

Your first cup of coffee certainly had a strong flavor and gave you the want to jump from buildings. However, after a while, you need another and maybe even a third to achieve the same result. In other words, your body adapted to it! Caffeine tolerance sets up quite fast in our bodies. Try reducing back if you believe that your excessive and frequent drinking may have stopped having an impact on you.

Use herbal tea or freshly squeezed fruit juice in place of coffee on the weekends, during times when you aren’t working, or on holidays. If you enjoy the flavor of coffee, go for decaffeinated coffee instead because it has the same scent and flavor.

Medical Conditions

Patients with liver disease, infants, pregnant women, women during the luteal phase of their menstrual cycles, and women who have slower metabolisms of caffeine. Contrarily, smoking increases the rate at which caffeine is metabolized almost twofold.

Your Genes

You might not handle caffeine well if even a tiny quantity makes you nervous, restless, and ill. And genetics have a role in it. Let’s examine the genetic foundation of caffeine metabolism in more detail.

If you have a genetic variation of the caffeine-metabolizing CYP1A2 gene that is unfavorable, your body generates less of the enzyme and you metabolize caffeine more slowly. Coffee (and other caffeinated beverages), therefore, has a more powerful impact on you.

Despite how good it sounds, people with this particular genome can have greater blood pressure as a result of drinking coffee, which makes them more prone to illnesses associated with high blood pressure.

However, carrying undesirable versions does not need you to give up your preferred morning routine. You are just being warned that consuming too much caffeine may be detrimental to you and that you should reduce your intake. With the personalized recommendations our DNA test provides, you may find out precisely how much caffeine is advised for you.

The statement “caffeine doesn’t affect me” should not deter you. You can recharge your batteries in other ways.

Exercising

Your sleep is disturbed if you use a smartphone, tablet, or e-reader. According to research, using light-emitting technology before bed might make it harder for you to fall asleep, decrease your melatonin levels, which help you sleep better, and make you less awake the next day.

Sleeping Hack

A.P. Moller – Maersk Opens Doors To 560,000 sq. ft. Integrated Logistics Park At Port Qasim In Pakistan

Karachi, 30 November 2022: A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk), the integrated logistics
company, inaugurated its new Integrated Logistics Park at Port Qasim in Pakistan today.
Present at the inauguration were His Excellency Jakob Linulf, the Danish Ambassador to
Pakistan, Honorable Chairman Port Qasim, Rear Admiral (R) Syed Hasan Nasir Shah
HI(M), Hasan Faraz, Managing Director, Maersk Pakistan, the leadership team at Maersk
Pakistan and leaders from the top businesses in Pakistan.

The Covid-19 pandemic impacted economies worldwide brought most lives to a
standstill and disrupted the global supply chains. However, goods did not stop moving
around the world and all the essentials required to battle the pandemic kept moving.
This was possible because shipping and logistics companies showed immense resilience
in their operations amidst the most challenging times. Ships kept sailing, ports stayed
operational, warehouses remained open, and cargo kept moving despite international
borders getting closed.

During this time, Maersk’s integrated logistics solutions created maximum value for
importers and exporters. Maersk’s end-to-end solutions ensured customers’ cargo kept
moving. The warehousing facilities especially strengthened Maersk’s position by being
able to store goods that were in lower demand and slowed down supply chains when
needed. This garnered a lot of confidence in the customers’ minds about Maersk’s
resilience, commitment, and ability to react quickly and appropriately to the changing
behavior of the end consumers.

Building on this background, Maersk Pakistan took the bold decision to invest in an
Integrated Logistics Park that would act as a warehouse, including a consolidation &
fulfillment centre and cold storage, at Port Qasim. Maersk Pakistan went on from
acquiring a 26-acre land parcel to carefully designing and constructing a six-shed facility
spread over 560,000 sq. ft. that will answer all the requirements of its customers
through a single location. This facility will cater to storage requirements of cargo from
retail & lifestyle, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), automotive and technology
sectors. Located within Port Qasim, the Integrated Logistics Park will be the perfect
warehouse destination for customers to manage their import and export cargo with the
least time delays while connecting to and from vessels.

The Maersk Integrated Logistics Park will come equipped with modern Warehouse
Management Systems. With Maersk taking care of the movement of cargo – ocean
transportation on one side and landside transportation on the other side of the
warehouse – customers will experience lesser handovers of their cargo, leading to
higher efficiencies, faster turnaround times, deeper visibility and better control over the
cargo movement. All of this will result in better predictability of supply chains.

Hasan Faraz, Managing Director, Maersk Pakistan, commented during the inauguration
of the facility, “At Maersk, our purpose is to improve life for all by integrating the world.
With our state-of-the-art Integrated Logistics Park, we want to ensure that we play an
important role in connecting and simplifying the supply chains for importers, exporters
and traders of Pakistan.” He added, “I am proud of this major investment in Pakistan
and is a critical building block in the logistics infrastructure. It is also apt to recognize the
unwavering support our customers have extended, with whom we could have
meaningful conversations that helped us design a solution that creates value in their
supply chains.”

His Excellency Jakob Linulf, the Danish Ambassador to Pakistan, said, “Pakistan has
incredible potential to grow, and there are enough opportunities for trade to flourish
here. Despite the various current challenges, Maersk has played an important role as a
trusted partner for Pakistan’s traders.” He added, “Maersk’s commitment to invest in a
large facility such as the one inaugurated today in Port Qasim speaks volumes of the
potential that is out there to be harnessed.”

New Electric Taxis In Karachi? Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Sharjeel Memon, the Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, declared that an up-to-date, reasonably priced, and environmentally friendly electric taxi service will soon be introduced in Karachi and expanded to other significant cities around the province. After touring the under-construction Bus Rapid Transport Red Line project, which was launched with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, here on Sunday, the minister made this revelation to the media.

An effort to improve the transportation crisis in Karachi

He said that the city’s current online cab firms were charging extremely exorbitant rates. He stated that the Sindh government was working to offer citizens affordable taxi service and that the Pakistan People’s Party leadership had instructed to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing public transportation projects in Karachi in order to address the city’s long-standing transportation issue. He said that the city has seen the inauguration of public transportation projects costing billions of dollars. To expand the number of buses in the city and upgrade the transportation system, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority worked day and night.

An initiative to sustainability?

In this context, work will shortly begin on the first biogas factory in Pakistan. He claimed that Sindh has the distinction of launching Pakistan’s first electric bus service and that construction is already underway on a BRT red line that will operate on environmentally friendly biogas.

The electric taxis are coming with the hope of cheaper fares since fuel is skyrocketing at the moment along with the reduction of air and noise pollution which enveloped the city of Karachi. Also, it will be interesting to see how well these projects are maintained and whether they deliver what they promise?

He claimed that the Orange Line and People’s Bus Services had been launched by the Sindh Transport Department. The city’s official electric bus service will soon begin operating. The BRT Yellow Line project, which has the assistance of the World Bank, was nearing completion and that construction will soon begin. All major cities in the world, according to him, have cutting-edge public transportation systems, including BRT.

A happening time for Karachi since many projects are awaited

“The government of Sindh is working to establish a modern public transportation system in Karachi, the nation’s financial capital. The Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) is a very old project”, the minister added. The project had been incorporated into the CPEC projects thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Sindh.

In answer to a query, he stated that all federal agencies, including the Malir Cantonment Board, had adopted the BRT Red Line project and were providing complete support for its development. He said that all encroachments on the Red Line Corridor of the BRT Project will be eliminated, and Karachi administrations had been given a week to do so.

The leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has enquired about the project with the Sindh government. In order to provide the people of Karachi with the best possible services, they also wish to finish the city’s transportation-related projects as soon as possible.

Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qigong – What’s Best For You?

Mindfulness and mind-body techniques are prominent themes these days, especially since the Covid-19 epidemic exacerbated tension and anxiety. Yoga, Pilates, qigong, and tai chi are some of the most popular mind-body activities. These four treatments all combine movement, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve your physical and mental health, self-awareness, and spiritual growth.

All these routines may enhance your strength, balance, flexibility, posture, and awareness. Furthermore, studies have demonstrated that all, or some, of these may have a good influence on health issues such as substance misuse, lung illness, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, and back pain.

In a 2017 research published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, qigong was found to increase quality of life, sleep quality, balance, handgrip strength, trunk flexibility, blood pressure, and resting heart rate. In another research published in the journal Psychiatric Clinics of North America in 2013, tai chi and qigong were found to improve sadness, stress, anxiety, and mood disorders.

How to choose what’s best for you:

Before trying to determine what’s best for you, learn a little about each one.

Yoga

Yoga is a slow-movement practice that combines various postures with breathing techniques. There are several yoga methods available, including contemporary variations such as hot yoga and goat yoga.

Pilates

Pilates emphasizes stretching and strengthening the body while focusing on breathing and meditation. It is often taught in group mat sessions or small “reformer” courses that employ universal reformer equipment.

Qigong

Qigong, like yoga and Pilates, combines physical postures with breathing methods and awareness, but in flowing motions that are frequently smoother and slower.

These exercises may be done standing or sitting, and hundreds of various postures can be chained together.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a type of qigong that is one of the most popular in the world. It is like martial art and concentrates on precise motions that are linked together in a structured sequence. Qigong is the easier and more adaptable of the two, concentrating on nurturing the energy known as chi or qi, whereas Tai Chi emphasizes athleticism and takes more discipline.

There are still some distinctions to be made between each practice. Yoga studios are more accessible than locations to practice Pilates, tai chi, or qigong. Dr. Vincent Minichiello, an assistant professor and integrative health physician at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is a tai chi student himself, and said that some people may find memorizing its moves difficult, thus the simpler qigong may be a better match.

Words of advice from professional trainers

“Qigong may also be performed while lying down and even by imagination,” he explained, “So if you have difficulty moving your body, you can practice the motions by imagining them.”

Pilates, according to Lauren K. Baker, a certified personal trainer based in New York, has a higher risk of injury than the others since its exercises need a lot of control, accuracy, and core strength.

Tai chi takes a lot of room, ideally outside, which may be an issue for some. When first beginning out, the movements might be unpleasant. “One of the benefits of qigong is that it releases stagnant energy,” says Baker, “but the purging of negative energy from the body can lead to fatigue, nausea, pain, or a slight headache.”

If you’re interested in Pilates, Jessica Schatz, a certified Pilates teacher and yoga instructor in Los Angeles, recommends beginning with a one-on-one session with a highly skilled instructor. “The issue with Pilates is that it is not a recognized trademark, so anyone may use it.” People who claim to have done it for years come to me injured.”

Whatever technique you choose, your body and mind will appreciate the fact that you’re taking care of yourself. Because self-care is critical, and your body understands — and desires it.

This ‘Snap, Diagnosis and Solution’ feature, powered by an artificial intelligence technology company called Plantix, gives a competitive edge to the Cropwise Grower app among all the other locally-available apps – this is a first-of-its-kind offering in the crop protection industry.

The Cropwise Grower app also provides growers with access to agronomic advice, weather forecasts,   recommendations on choosing the right time for spraying during the day, historic weather trends for the past 6 months and insights into the respective region’s crop disease problems for more tailored solutions.

Through this app, farmers will be facilitated in increasing their yields through timely advice and access to remedies by employing a preventative approach versus the treatment approach for farmers in the region – if a disease is detected on a particular crop in one location, all farmers in that areas are alerted to keep a watchful eye for the disease.

Tips For Traveling To Beautiful Northern Areas In Pakistan

There is no shortage of beautiful tourist locations in Pakistan that are just waiting to be discovered, whether it be the entrancing green meadows in Kaghan Valley or the stunning snow-covered mountain peaks in Gilgit-Baltistan. Even while these tourist hotspots are completely secure for both lone women travelers and kids, you can’t just pack a bag and head off to discover these genuine bits of heaven on earth. This is why we have created a list of suggestions to make sure you have no issues when traveling.

Avoid the monsoon season

If you intend to visit the northern regions during the summer vacation, try to schedule your trip before July because that is when Pakistan’s rainy season begins. Being trapped in the rain in the middle of a mountain road may be extremely dangerous since excessive rain can cause landslides. The period of persistent rain often lasts until October, following which the winter season starts. Therefore, before the end of June is the ideal time to take a visit. But keep in mind that it might start raining at any moment. Therefore, always have a raincoat or umbrella nearby.

Try not to flash your expensive belongings for safety

No matter where you are traveling, this is one of the most crucial regulations. Even though Gilgit Baltistan and other northern Pakistani regions have very low crime rates, you should nevertheless refrain from dazzling jewelry and pricey devices when traveling. Furthermore, it’s usually preferable to have a little cash on hand. In Pakistan, practically all popular tourist attractions have ATMs that you may use to withdraw cash if necessary.

Go for lowkey places up North

Beautiful spots abound in Pakistan’s northern regions and are just waiting to be discovered. Even though Hunza and Chitral valleys have heavy visitor traffic year-round, there are still a number of settlements in these areas that haven’t been featured in travel guides. Instead of visiting well-known locations, try to visit more obscure ones. For instance, while having breathtaking landscapes, the villages of Arang Kel in Azad Kashmir and Minapin in Nagar Valley—two of the most attractive spots in Pakistan—remain underappreciated tourist destinations. Include these locations in your vacation itinerary, please.

Leave your fast food obsession at home

The traditional cuisine of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir is renowned and very well-liked by tourists. It’s always best to experience the local food and specialties, even if it’s simple to discover restaurants selling desi, Chinese, and even continental cuisines in this neighborhood. To be sure it doesn’t include anything to which you could be allergic, make sure to inquire about the contents before ingesting anything.

Avoid Trekking unless experienced

Tips For Traveling To Beautiful Northern Areas In Pakistan

Pakistan is a paradise for hikers and climbers because of its grand mountain ranges and tall peaks. While vacationers from all over the world go to northern Pakistan, you should exercise caution if you want to go climbing or trekking alone, especially if you have no prior expertise. Since the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu-kush ranges are home to many famous trekking routes, ascending these peaks without the right equipment and preparation may be rather risky.

In addition to these tips, make note of layering up since you don’t want to catch the flu and spend your vacation eating medicines and calling your doctor at home. A medicine box and warm thermals are a must whenever you’re thinking of taking a trip up north and make sure to always have an umbrella on you.

These Were The Killer Phones Under PKR 45,000 In 2022

What a year 2022 has turned out to be – through ups and downs, the smartphone industry went through many hoops. While the year started on a high note with many smartphone launches, it is culminating on a rather sombre note – given the industry situation. However, as we look back at the year with positive hopes for the technology industry, here is a list of smartphones that captured our imagination below PKR 45K.

realme C35 (PKR 38,999/-)

Oh boy! What a design marvel was the realme C35. With its Glowing Silk Design, this phone was surely an eye turner, especially in its Glowing Green avatar. With a current price tag of PKR 38,999/-, the realme C35 is a unique all-rounder that packs a punch both inside and outside. With a Unisoc T616 Octa-Core processor, it clocks a top-speed high performance delivering a 6.6-inch Ultra Smooth Display and 5,000 mAh battery to give you juice for an entire day. Another good aspect of the phone is its 50MP AI Triple Camera that takes great photos. The realme C35 comes in a 4GB + 128GB storage setup which makes it perfect for storing photos, videos, games, and all your favourite apps without the lag.

Infinix Note 12 (PKR 42,999/-)

Another powerhouse smartphone in our list is the Infinix Note 12. With attractive specs and 6.7-inch AMOLED display, the phone just makes it to our list being “almost affordable” at PKR 42,999/-. It comes with a 50MP AI Triple Camera and a 16MP Front camera and 5,000 mAh battery. The phone is powered by a Mali G57 Octa-core chipset, which might be a tad bit uninspiring when pitted against the other phones in its price bracket. With a storage space of 8GB + 128GB, this can be the phone’s saving grace.

OPPO A57 (PKR 39,999/-)

While Oppo F21 Pro was all the rage this year, the company also slipped a smartphone aimed at the affordable segment. At PKR 39,999/-, the Oppo A57 like its counterparts comes with a 5,000 mAh battery – the segment standard. It features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display and is powered by a PowerVR GE8320 chipset, that doesn’t deliver a punch in its performance. This makes the phone slightly undesirable over its competitors.

Tecno Camon 19 Neo (PKR 37,999/-)

Sitting nicely in this price bracket, here’s a phone that impresses with its camera. The Tecno Camon 19 Neo has a 48MP Triple Rear Camera and a 32MP Selfie Camera giving all selfie lovers the best value for their money. On the processing front, the phone may not please all with a Mali G52 MP2 chipset that lags in performance. The phone has a 6GB + 128GB storage setup, so what it lacks in performance, it makes up in storage.

Krave Mart Launches Private Labels to Reach Sustainability & Profitability

Krave Mart has entered the private label market to meet consumer demand for high-quality premium products at competitive pricing.

Krave Mart began operations with 16+ categories, with 3000+ SKUs housing numerous brands. The product mix for the clientele base made sure there was a balance of both food and non-food necessities. This is where Krave Mart subsequently entered the Private Labeling Initiative.

Beginning with staples like common spices and kitchen necessities like eggs and sugar, Krave Mart successfully released more than 100 private-label SKUs with the goal of providing their customers with high-quality goods that are – sourced, packed & delivered with love.

The current private-label product includes:

  • Kdaily (Spices, Eggs, Lentils, Value Added Flour & Dry Fruits.)
  • Kfresh (Fruits & Vegetables, Exotic range of F&V)
  • More products in the pipeline

In fact, for these products’ Krave Mart’s margins doubled, demonstrating their importance as major components of Krave Mart’s sustainability and achieving profitability in the current market.

By far the quickest eCommerce/online platform in the area, Krave Mart was able to meet intermittent stock shortages that would have interfered with the goal and introduce a wide variety of private-label SKUs.

“With 100+ private label SKUs live on the platform today and increasing, the backward integration has enabled us to significantly improve on our availability ratio, keep quality controls in check and double down on our margins to drive sustainable growth,” as Ahsan Kidwai Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer at Krave Mart, states.

What is Private Labeling:

Private labeling refers to the practice of contracting with suppliers for the product(s)’ sourcing, manufacture, sorting, and packaging in order to sell them under an owner-designed brand label.

Private Labeling comes with promising advantages which benefit organizations with:

  • Customer Loyalty: It instills a sense of belonging in the existing consumers as they feel part of the few that have access to the limited edition products; thereby increasing loyalty and sales volume.
  • High margins: Private labeling definitely yields higher margins as there are no branding and packaging premiums attached to the products being sourced directly.
  • Exclusivity: Private labeling gives complete liberty to promise exclusivity to customers in terms of branding, good marketing and creating its demand that in terms gives an edge over branded retail products.

Due to Krave Mart’s commitment to customer-centricity and providing the ideal product mix, its suppliers have the same goals for sustainability and high-quality production.

As brands (who hold private labels) already have access to customer patterns, insights, and preferences that might not be as available to FMCG producers, private labeling is the future of consumer products with the potential to even lead the categories.

The Out of Home campaign was deployed in collaboration with Kinetic Pakistan.

These are top-tier high-end phones. The most recent Galaxy and iPhone models are the standard options at this level, although major brands from China also have their own opinions. You can get no-compromise smartphones from Xiaomi and Oppo that match or even surpass Apple and Samsung in terms of construction and functionality. Foldable phones are also present here.

  1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

The Galaxy Z Fold4 features among of the greatest cameras, one of Samsung’s best screens, and, if you like S-Pen, it even supports it. Additionally, the fact that it is a foldable tablet puts it above the competition in terms of adaptability and convenience.

In fact, in smartphone or smartphone-like form, people looking for productivity are unlikely to find a better bundle than the Fold4. The latest Android for large displays, Samsung’s own One UI add-ons, and the pen support make for an unbeatable combination.

We should include the Xiaomi 12 Pro on our short list without a doubt. It comes with the most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, one of the greatest screens in the business, four immersive speakers, and a 120W power converter that can recharge the battery incredibly quickly.

Excellent photo and video quality is provided by the Xiaomi 12 Pro’s triple-camera system, which is also adaptable enough to be a flagship. Yes, the UW camera could have used autofocus, and the zoom camera could have had a larger field of view. However, Xiaomi makes up for its shortcomings with superior processors and sensors.

  1. Oppo Find X5 Pro

Another fantastic Find arrives this year with the Find X5 Pro, continuing a tradition of strong flagship Oppos in the high-end market. Although the Find X5 Pro model no longer includes the special microscope camera, it nevertheless resembles the Find X3 Pro. Even so, it provides top-notch hardware and performance where it counts.

The telephoto camera’s major drawback is that it only offers a 2x zoom, but other unique features like the exclusive MariSilicon X image chip and the 5-axis OIS deliver great photo and video quality.

  1. Vivo iQ00 9 Pro

Numerous unique features are available, like LTPO 2.0 E5 AMOLED, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, 120W fast charging, and even the BMW Motorsport logo.

Even though it doesn’t have impressive zooming capabilities, the camera on the rear provides excellent photo and video quality and dazzles with video stabilization. Our favorite features included the iQOO 9 Pro speakers and the quick 120W wired charging, in addition to the screen, battery life, performance, and camera.

Most of them weren’t always getting rich. Here are some 10 suggestions from wealthy people on how to make your money count.

  • Cheap and proud of it

“When you open the paper and see those coupons, it appears like dollar bucks are glaring you down… This is how I grew up. So why not?” – Actress Hilary Swank addresses talk-show host Kelly Ripa on coupon clipping.

  • Not spending money is the same as making money

“So, if I save $2,000 by not traveling first class, it’s the same as if someone paid me $2,000. Wouldn’t you sit in an uncomfortable chair for three hours for $2,000?” – A successful plastic surgeon.

  • Going to ATM once a week and paying for everything with cash

“That way, I’m forced to stay on a budget without counting pennies and saving receipts. I can spend only what is in my wallet. I turn it into a game where each week, I reduce my ATM withdrawal amount by $20 to determine how low I can really go.” – Alan Corey, author of A Million Bucks by 30

  • Gutsy with their jobs

“When negotiating a new wage, always conclude with a request for a nine-month review rather than the standard 12-month evaluation. It is always authorized, and it provides you with a three-month head start on a future wage increase or bonus.” – Alan Corey

  • They’re just like us

“Millionaires often pay approximately $16 for a haircut at a standard barbershop, including tip.” – University of Georgia Survey Research Institute researchers

  • They aren’t as smart as we think

“When you have money, it’s astonishing how much wiser everyone believes you are. I was asked to speak at a conference I had been wanting to speak at for six years two days after I sold my firm.” – Peter Shankman, entrepreneur and angel investor.

  • Don’t quit till you get the deal

“I once went all the way to the top of Dell’s customer service for an issue with an out-of-warranty computer, and I was delivered a new one the following day. If you are ready to work your way up the chain, you will almost certainly find someone who is willing to bend the rules to resolve a complaint and solve the problem.” – August Turak

  • Accept risk to achieve success

“I was working at AOL in the 1990s when the company let go of 300 people. I was one of them. The movie Titanic was coming out, so I took my rent money and had 500 T-shirts printed that read, ‘It sank. Get over it.’ If I didn’t sell those shirts, I was homeless. I sold 500 shirts in six hours and made five grand. Then I called USA Today and gave a reporter the story. I sold 10,000 shirts on the Web over the next two months and ultimately racked up 100 grand. That was my very first company”. – Peter Shankman
