 The fourth and most current Free Fire Pakistan League was held in October 2022. Garena Free Fire partnered with Next Generation Esports as the lead agency to handle all operations for their flagship event for the fourth time.

This edition of FFPL IV was unlike others in that no offline event was planned due to the global recession causing mayhem worldwide. New Study Shows High Levels Of BPA In Sports Bra

A new study has shown that sports bras contain toxic levels of BPA – a chemical compound found in plastic which associated with adverse health effects such as asthma, cardiovascular disease and obesity. The study was conducted by the Center of Environmental Health, which is a non-profit consumer advocacy group focused on exposing the presence of toxic chemicals in consumer products.

The test was conducted on the products sold by Athleta, PINK, Asics, The North Face, Brooks, All in Motion, Nike, and FILA in the past six months. The results showed the clothing could expose wearers to up to 22 times the safe limit of BPA, based on standards set in California, according to the Center for Environmental Health. Meanwhile, the activewear shirt brands tested include The North Face, Brooks, Mizuno, Athleta, New Balance, and Reebok. CEH only found BPA in polyester-based clothing containing spandex.

BPA & Sports Bra 

Per California’s Proposition 65, the maximum allowable dose level for BPA via skin exposure is 3 mcg per day, which means some of the garments could expose wearers to up to 66 mcg per day.

The nonprofit watchdog centre recently sent legal notices to the brands, calling on them to reformulate their products without BPA.

“We want brands to reformulate their products to remove all bisphenols including BPA. In the interim, we recommend limiting the time you spend in your activewear by changing after your workout,” the group said.

“Studies have shown that BPA can be absorbed through the skin and end up in the bloodstream after handling receipt paper for seconds or a few minutes at a time. Sports bras and athletic shirts are worn for hours at a time, and you are meant to sweat in them, so it is concerning to be finding such high levels of BPA in our clothing,” said Kaya Allan Sugerman, Illegal Toxic Threats Program Director at CEH, in a press release.

“People are exposed to BPA through ingestion, from eating food or drinking water from containers that have leached BPA, or by absorption through the skin,” said Allan Sugerman.

BPA Toxicity 

One meta-review study including more than 28,000 people found that BPA was detected in more than 90% of study subjects. The toxic ingredient is known to disrupt female hormones making it also a questionable material to be used in intimate clothing pieces.

According to a gynaecologist,  “Even low levels of exposure during pregnancy have been associated with a variety of health problems in offspring. These problems include abnormal development of the mammary glands and ovaries that can increase the likelihood of developing breast or ovarian cancer later in life. These effects occur even at low levels of exposure like those seen in people today.

Are Air Tags Banned On Flights? Here’s What You Need To Know

Since its launch last April, Apple’s Air Tag has become a popular way for passengers to check whether their luggage has travelled. Bluetooth devices have become especially useful during the summer of this year’s lost luggage.

However, a recent tweet from German airline Lufthansa has left AirTag owners confused about whether they can deploy a one-euro coin-sized device in their suitcases.

“It is on the authorities to adopt regulations that right now limit the use of these devices for airline passengers in checked luggage,” the airline added. “We are in close contact with the respective institutions to find a solution as quickly as possible.”

The company, which tweeted over the weekend that it was “banning activated AirTags from luggage as they are classified as dangerous and need to be turned off,” has reversed course and announced that the popular tracking devices are allowed on its flights.

Lufthansa & Air Tags

In recent news, Lufthansa has taken a new decision saying, “The Lufthansa Group has conducted its risk assessment with the result that tracking devices with very low battery and transmission power in checked luggage do not pose a safety risk.”

According to the airline, they have never issued a ban on devices like that.

“Luggage tracking devices powered by lithium metal cells that have 0.3 grams or less of lithium can be used on checked baggage,” the FAA said in a statement. “Apple AirTags meet this threshold, other luggage tracking devices may not.”

“The regulation does not in itself ban or allow devices such as Apple AirTags,” EASA told TPG. “It is the responsibility of operators to prohibit the use of devices which could adversely affect the flight safety or the aircraft’s systems.”

There are no known instances of AirTags catching fire on a plane (or anywhere), and no other major airlines have banned the Apple accessories.

Karachi, October 16, 2022: Daraz, Pakistan’s leading e-commerce platform, in partnership with Cainiao Network, (“Cainiao”), the logistics arm of Alibaba Group, has launched the country’s first automated smart distribution centres in Karachi and Lahore. The distribution centres will be equipped with innovative smart technologies, such as an automatic assembly line and smart distribution set-up. The facilities span over 50,000 sq. metres and hold the capacity to process 428,400 orders per day. To date, Cainiao has built hundreds of automated distribution centres of varying scales in China, and 10 smart distribution hubs across Europe, Asia, and America.

Edhi Foundation in partnership with Jazz provides flood assistance to flood affected families

Edhi Foundation in partnership with Jazz provided assistance to thousands of families, distributing food and medical supplies, and hygiene and disaster relief kits in flood affected areas. This collaboration is a part of Jazz’s PKR 1 billion flood relief pledge.

The areas covered under this initiative include 23 districts of Sindh including Nawabshah, Dadu, Sukkur, Jamshoro, and Larkana as well as 10 districts of Balochistan including Quetta, Lasbela, and Nasirabad. Flood-struck parts of South Punjab including Taunsa, Jampur, and DG Khan were also covered. Jazz also mobilized its volunteers to assist Edhi’s on-ground teams in distributing relief items.

“We have witnessed the unfolding of an unprecedented calamity. To mitigate the effects of this climate-induced catastrophe, I implore all private companies to come forward. Jazz has historically always risen to the occasion when the country and its people needed it the most. The nationwide flood relief initiative is another example of this and we greatly value their decision to collaborate with us,” said Faisal Edhi, Director – Edhi Foundation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the all the families affected by floods. We are working with key partners in distributing relief supplies so it reaches the affectees in time. ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2022 — Schedule, Teams, and, What to Expect?

The eighth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is just around the corner. ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is set to kick off on October 16, 2022, and the final is scheduled for November 13, 2022. The T20I extravaganza is scheduled to be hosted by defending champions Australia, who will kick off their tournament from where they left off last year against the finalists New Zealand.

This tournament was scheduled to take place in 2020, but it was postponed amid the pandemic.  The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced in August 2020 that Australia will be the host nation for the rescheduled tournament in 2022.

South Africa played host to the inaugural edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007. India defeated Pakistan in a thrilling final to claim the trophy. Over the years since then, the T20 World Cup has been won by Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Australia. West Indies is the only country to win it twice, in 2012 and 2016.

What to Expect?

T20 World Cup has its fair share of memorable moments, the world has witnessed new stars being born in this very event. One cannot forget Carlos Brathwaite hitting four sixes to Ben Stokes in the last over to win the T20 World Cup in 2016, or Matthew Wade hitting three maximums to Shaheen Afridi to pull off a miraculous victory in the semi-final last year. From Yuvraj Singh’s 6 sixes in an over, to Misbah’s mistimed scoop which cost Pakistan the 2007 World Cup, this tournament has given many memories which are still etched in the minds of fans.

This year too, the world is expecting an entertainment extravaganza, that too on fast-paced large grounds of Australia. Last year’s finalists, Australia and New Zealand are going to lock horns in their first match to kick off from where they have left off last year. On the very next day, arch-rivals India and Pakistan will meet in the marquee match. India will look to avenge last year’s loss, while Pakistan will walk into the game with more confidence after defeating India in Asia Cup 2022. These two matches will generate more excitement and set the mood for the whole tournament.

Asian champions Sri Lanka are slated to play in the opening round to qualify for Super 12, which they are expected to do on the back of an excellent Asia Cup campaign. They have found some match winners, in Nissanka, Rajapaksa, and Shanaka, which makes them dark horses in the T20 World Cup. But the main man for them is Wanindu Hasaranga, as he was the highest wicket-taker in last year’s T20 World Cup and player of the tournament in Asia Cup 2022, but it will be interesting to see how he fairs on Australian pitches.

Two-time T20 World Cup winner West Indies is in the same boat as Sri Lanka. Their qualification is important for the tournament from pure entertainment’s point of view, as they are known for being entertainers, even if they are losing. The world loves to see them in action and they have a young talented bunch of players who can turn the fortunes in their favor.

Australia is known as the paradise for fast bowlers, and almost every team is equipped with a good pace battery, but none comes closer to the pace attack of Pakistan and South Africa. Pakistani spearhead Shaheen Afridi is expected to play the tournament with full fitness, which will strengthen the attack, while on the other side Marco Jansen replaces Dwaine Pretorius in South Africa’s T20 World Cup squad, which can be a blessing in disguise. India and England both desired to have their leading fast bowlers (Jasprit Bhumrah and Jofra Archer) get fit in time, but unfortunately, none could make it. England was also deprived of the services of in-form Jonny Bairstow courtesy of a ‘freak accident’.

Overall, this is going to be an action-packed event, with every team having a fair chance to take advantage of the conditions. But in my opinion, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, and England have a better chance to qualify for the semifinals.
