You can expect the Pakistan cricket team to be quite unpredictable. This is what makes their matches interesting. Now, PSL 7 is nearly upon us as we bid goodbye to 2021 and enter 2022.

Standard Chartered Expands Its SCKU Youth League To Islamabad

04 December 2021, Islamabad – After the success of the SC KU Youth league in Karachi, Standard Chartered announced the launch of the “Standard Chartered Karachi United Youth League” in Islamabad. The league is scheduled over three months, from December 2021 to March 2022. This is the first time Standard Chartered is taking this league to a different city. The objective of taking the “Standard Chartered – Karachi United Youth League” to the twin-cities, is to provide a new platform and opportunities for young football enthusiasts in and around Pakistan’s Capital city, to perform well, prove their competence and win recognition and rewards, sponsored by a globally leading bank.

More than 350 talented boys and girls, living in diverse communities of the region will come together to play more than 70 matches while nurturing their competitive spirits. Over the past four years, the Standard Chartered Karachi United Youth League has successfully engaged over 2800 participants – boys and girls, from Karachi. It has helped develop talent and there are multiple case studies and examples that highlight the teamwork, leadership and volunteerism nurtured among the diverse communities.

The Islamabad league will feature two competitions for Boys; in the Under-14 and Under-16 categories. The format has a group system to qualify for the semi-finals. The Girls’ tournament will be played on a single league basis, with seven girls in each team. These girls are selected from Standard Chartered Bank’s flagship education programme, Goal, which focuses on enhancing girl empowerment, as well as other football clubs and academies. Official Referees and Match-Commissioners have been appointed to elevate the League’s standard. A total of 73 matches will be played in different locations of Islamabad/Rawalpindi.

Ms Khadija Hashimi, Head, CABM, AME & Country Head, Pakistan, commented “We at Standard Chartered are excited to fulfil our promise to nurture sustainable socio-economic development and healthy sporting activities for the underserved communities in Pakistan. We believe the league will have a positive cultural impact and support reduction of anti-social tendencies among youth in Islamabad, along with life skills coaching for progressive mindsets.”

Who Is Returning For The Final Installment?

In the last instalment, fans will see the gang return for a showdown. What To Expect From The Final Instalment

With the premiere date for Money Heist: Part 5 Vol. 2 set for today, fans want to know how the story will end. While the storyline has remained under wraps, Money Heist creator Álex Pina teased that the final installment will focus more on the “emotional situation” of the characters.

“We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”

One major question for the series finale is, who will narrate the story? Since the series was told from Tokyo’s perspective, fans wonder who will narrate the series. Will the Professor take over? Or will it be Tokyo’s love interest, Rio?

Sierra’s role will also unfold in the series finale and so will the entire gang’. Who will survive and who won’t? Only time will tell.

While bidding goodbye to the series might be hard, a spinoff of Berlin’s character is in talks and fans might be able to hear something exciting very soon. Till then we will have Bella Ciao playing on the loop.

Hyundai provides the materials and sponsors select designers for their collections. The 2021 collection is focused on conscious fashionistas from the millennial and Gen Z. It is created for those who prefer ‘kind consumption’ and luxury goods that are not too heavy or damaging the environment. According to sources and the images we have, the MG GT is quite an impressive sedan. It sports a similar grille as to brands like Aston Martin. It truly feels like something that James Bond would drive! Not just that, but the rear end of the vehicle resembles that of the modern Mercedes. We can safely say that this car lands in the premium category. You will want to buy this when it is finally on the market.

Apple has revealed the 2021 App Store Award winners which celebrates the 15 best apps and games which gave users the ability to delve into personal passions, find a creative outlet, connect with friends and family, enjoy experiences, and simply have fun. The list of this year’s winners includes developers from around the world.

Their apps and games were chosen by Apple’s global App Store editorial team for delivering quality, innovative technology, excellent design, and a positive impact on the community. Also included in the winner’s list, is Australia’s very own Canva.

According to the reveal that has been made, the phone is going to have a massive 6.5-inch display. This will be followed by a 90hz display for that premium feel. Additionally, the display is superior to the predecessor so this is definitely an upgrade. When it comes to processing power, it is going to contain a Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset. This is one that combines two high-performance areas into one.

The smartphone certainly seems more able for gaming. It can handle processors with twice as much power as the A12. Additionally, you can never go wrong with Samsung because they don’t compromise on quality. The Samsung A13 5G is also going to sport 64GB storage with 4GB ram, which is ample for most processes and applications today.

Technological Progression

Apart from that, the phone features a 50MP main camera, giving it a robust and premium feel. It also houses a 2MP macro camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor. This makes sure that you have all the fun while taking pictures at a needle’s distance. The front camera stands at 5mp, which is not a lot but it is sufficient for good selfies.

If we talk about the battery, the smartphone features a robust 5000mAh one. It also supports 15W charging so you can expect a full percentage before two hours have gone by. We are not sure of the exact price of the phone but it might cost anywhere between Rs.38,000/- to Rs.42,000/-

HEC Warns Students From Getting Their Degrees Laminated

[Update: December 3rd, 2021]: It has become a usual practice of people to et their important documents laminated. This usually happens in order to protect them from getting discolored or being destroyed thanks to water or anything wet. However, people end up getting their degrees laminated as well. The HEC, however, cannot put the attestation stamp on lamination and have to remove it from the document. That often leads to the embossed print getting separated from the paper as well.

This is why HEC has issued a warning against degree lamination. That said, if you still want it laminated, get it done from your educational institute. They do so in a way that they leave a small portion free of the plastic coating so they can attest it.

[Update: December 2nd, 2021]: Once attaining the degree, Bachelors or Masters, it is not like your work is done. Regardless of however renowned your university you sought your education at was, you need to get your degrees attested. This is where HEC (Higher Education Commission) comes in. You get your degrees attested with them.

Online degree attestation & fraud agents

To accommodate Pakistanis, HEC continues to evolve its user experience. In such an attempt, first, they took the degree attestation process online, to their e-portal. Later on, they transferred the service to yet another portal. However, this may have led to people getting confused somewhat about how to get their degrees attested, which is why fraudulent people sprung into action. They cashed in on the confusion claiming that they could get the students’ degrees attested without complications.

HEC, however, has issued the notice to beware people from falling into their trap. In the notification, they said that these fraudulent agents had even pasted faked HEC stamps on the degrees and transcripts in some cases. Should these documents reach HEC, they said, they would immediately be withheld. Hence, the matter should not be taken to such a position and Pakistanis should remain very careful of people who claim to be attestation agents.

[December 18th, 2020]: HEC Announces Degree Attestation Is No Longer Available At e-Portal

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan provides many services to candidates seeking higher who have already sought higher education. From degree attestations to research grants, as well as scholarships for Masters and PhDs in Pakistan as well as abroad. It also provides services to international students applying to Pakistani universities on a self-finance basis.

Degree attestation process

Almost all HEC services have shifted online, including degree attestations. Degree attestation mostly happens in phases. The first and most critical phase happens online, where all documents and information has to be uploaded. Once the attestation gets a go-sign from the portal, the portal then asks the candidates to bring the actual document, which they attest by the end of the day.

However, the Commission has sent an essential announcement towards students’ way!

The announcement read:

“The Higher education Commission has announced that all the applicants for Degree Attestation should apply through http:/www.eservices.hec.gov.pk with effect from December 18, 2020.”

Moreover, according to the notification, the service of Degree Attestation will, in fact, be wholly removed from http:/www.eportal.hec.gov.pk. So if you are going to get your degree attested, go to eservices.hec.gov.pk. Although, if you already have an account at e-portal, you can use the same login credentials to log in at eservices.

The rest of the services are still available at the HEC e-portal, so if it’s anything other than degree attestation, you can still utilize your account there.

There are many professions in this world. If one doesn’t follow their passion, they might end up in a place they do not enjoy. Among numerous professions, flying as a pilot is many people’s dream. Not only do pilots get to roam the world, they learn about this massive flying machine too. Pakistan has been known, in history, for producing some of the greatest airmen ever. However, there was an unpleasant piece of news surrounding pilot licensing recently.

Due to that, pilots in Pakistan could not sit down for an exam here. The scandal itself was related to the issuance of fake pilot licenses. This is astounding news since flying is a profession where we cannot have untrained staff. If you try shortcuts in this field, you are playing with people’s lives, thousands of feet above the ground.

Pakistani Pilots In the UK

In light of this, the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) has decided to outsource its pilot licensing exam to the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority. This gives pilots a bright chance at gaining a license through honest means. Not only would they be prepared, but they would be flying with a certification. Of course, there is a fee for the exam and it does vary in accordance to how many times you sit for it. A deal has been made between PCAA and CAA UK which allows pilots to apply for the exam from there.

It is certainly refreshing news for us because it means the pilots can gain a license. Once they are trained and prepped, they can be trusted with the lives of people. It is not easy to fly high above the ground and it takes skill to navigate difficult weather. We hope our pilots continue to excel at flying for many decades to come.

Aviation Everywhere

The fee for the first year has been set at 90 pounds per exam. For the second year, it is set at 95 pounds per exam. PCAA would be responsible for covering 75% of the fee in the first year and a quarter of the total in the second year. However, if a pilot does appear in the third year, they must pay the fee themselves.

We hope to see quite a lot of development in this area as time progresses. Who knows, maybe the country manages to produce the best pilots in the world.

That said, Money Heist will not be fully gone from our lives. In fact, a Berlin spinoff seems to be in the talk. While Berlin’s dialogues always seemed to be overflowing with sexism, he still was one of the most interesting characters of the show. [August 29th, 2021]: What happens when you start following a new series. You go through a vicious cycle of mixed emotions. From excitement to the feeling of sadness when the show is about to end. Not to mention the sense of longing we all tend to feel after a few days when it’s too early to watch the show again. Something like that is going to happen to all of us very soon. Since the last season of Money Heist is about to start within a few days.

Money Heist Fever

There are little to no non-English TV shows which have gained so much attention throughout the world. The show being a Spanish Netflix original, was able to set records even outside of Spain. Ask any millennial or Gen Z a list of their favorite shows; Money Heist is bound to cut.

Since the show is coming back after a long hiatus, we are nonetheless excited. The feeling is not going to last long, and for sure, everyone will have a severe rebound since this will be the last season of Money Heist. However, the anticipation will be there till December since last season is coming in two parts. Part 1 will premiere on September 3, and part 6 will be released on December 3. There will be ten episodes in total – five in Part 5 and five in Part 6.

Last week a video of Hania Aamir grooving to Asim Azhar’s music at his concert went viral, which left social media into a frenzy. Fans of both were left speechless, given how much of the drama was already created after their public breakup on social media. We had thought the couple and the public were moving on now, however, the whole fiasco started yet again after Hania was seen there vibing to the performance of Asim Azhar.

While Hania’s words might have moved a few people, it seems like Asim Azhar was left unfazed. The singer is set to release his first single and his first album, and he would like to leave all the controversial people behind while focussing on his career.

The singer left a statement in light of the whole issue. While we wonder if he wrote it for his fans, the subtle digs make us wonder whether he wanted to call Hania out once again.

Fauji New TVC Conveys Emotional Message Of Respecting Food

Fauji Fertilizer Company’s (FFC) new TVC featuring Farhan Ali Agha caught our attention. Created by BBDO Pakistan and Epic Pictures, the TVC became attractive not for having a popular actor attached to it but for something even grander; for the emotional message that was a part of it.

Interesting aspects of the ad

The ad begins with incredible visuals. It starts with a raindrop falling on the agricultural land and a singular plant popping out. This is probably the most perfect cinematography and editing skills I have ever been so inspired by.

As the ad progresses, you see choreographed steps in a whole new light. Up until now, choreographed and synced steps were not new but always featured as a dance number to promote products like electronics, fairness creams, and even tea. But this time we saw synced choreography as something that was not a dance; or rather, it was a dance of life; the mechanic steps that ensue when one repeatedly performs an action.

For a farmer, or a farmworker, that is the dance of life, isn’t it?

The message

If the TVC was not already moving enough with the deep voice of the narrator, the ad takes yet another step. The storyteller telling the story of that crop created from that one raindrop takes it to the next stages; when that crop is turned into a cuisine.

He sheds light on the efforts of that farmer who waited months for the harvest. He sheds light on that cook who takes hours to create that final product. And then he links it to our ungrateful nature which disregards all that effort when in an instant, we express dislike for the food or throw it all away.

The ad signals at stopping for a second right before we are throwing it away, and think about that farmer, the researchers, all the people involved in the creation of the ingredients of that food.

Unnecessary aspects

While we appreciate the great parts of the TVC, there is one thing that did not make sense; casting Farhan Ali Agha as the farmer. With the fast pace at which the visuals come and go, we do not really get to connect with Farhan’s performance, so it did not really matter to have a known industry face here.

Islamabad – 24 November 2021: Kaan Terzioğlu, Chief Executive Officer, VEON Group called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. Kaan reiterated the Group’s full support towards the Government’s #DigitalPakistan agenda.
