Respect Sab Ka Haq Hai #SochKaFloBadlo

Bisconni Cakes have initiated the campaign #SochKaFLObadlo to play a role in changing the perspective of looking at the negative things around us through a positive lense.

The campaign has been initiated with the thought of breaking stereotypes and build an inclusive society.

Under this campaign, they have launched short videos with a strong message.
Their recent release in account of International Human Rights Day, emphasizes that respect is a right of every inalienable living being regardless of their cast, race or gender.
They are hitting harder on the thought of normalizing a respectable profession for the transgender community, who are as human as all of us.

The transgender community in Pakistan often faces discrimination and violence, and is not given basic human rights. 91 transgender women were killed in just one province of Pakistan since 2015. Despite the relatively progressive laws for transgender people, in reality, they are given little protection. Pakistan is in fact one of the only 12 countries worldwide that acknowledges transgender identity on their national ID cards.

Transgender people, and transgender women, in particular, face harassment, mistreatment, and exclusion from society, from the public health care system, education system, employment, and other institutions of government. Five years ago, Pakistan passed legislation guaranteeing basic rights for transgender citizens and outlawing discrimination in its 2018 Trans Protection Act.

In this campaign, Bisconni Cakes is encouraging people to show respect to Transgender like any other gender. It is we who need to understand that they are also human beings and they have a right to live their life as well with freedom and dignity.

We need to show support and motivate them to choose respectful professions. We need to end their struggle and open doors of opportunities for them. We need to break the stereotype. After all, blessings cannot only be earned in the form of charity but by helping someone out by taking a stand for them.

Alibaba.com Reaffirms Commitment to Serving Export Businesses in Lahore with Second Local Seller Summit

Lahore, 9 December 2022 – Alibaba.com, a leading platform for global business-to-business (B2B) trade, hosted its second seller summit in Lahore to highlight export opportunities available to local businesses from online commerce, reaffirming its commitment to helping exporters in the region enter the global market. The event this time was well attended by more than 250 participants including over 100 participants who tuned in online.

The Alibaba.com seller summit, titled “Bharo Digital Export ki Nayi Udaan Lahore se”, discussed various aspects of B2B e-commerce including the promising categories of products from Lahore in the global market and how Pakistani exporters can tap the opportunity. Alibaba.com representatives also provided the participants with tips and advice on equipping themselves with the necessary skills and tools to thrive as sellers on Alibaba.com.

The event featured a line-up of leaders from Alibaba.com as well as prominent industry leaders from Lahore’s business circle, including Mr. Song Song, Head of Alibaba.com Pakistan; Mr. Maaz Mehmood, Executive member of Sundar Trade and Industry Association; Mr. Ahmed Jahangir, Executive Director of Home Textile Business at Nishat Mills; Ms. Amy Li, Marketing Head at Alibaba.com Pakistan; and Mr. Aziz Ur Rehman, Founder of Adan Enterprises.

“I am greatly encouraged to see the enthusiasm of the business community in Lahore for transitioning to the digital age by grasping opportunities in B2B e-commerce, which is why we are here again to meet with local business leaders and entrepreneurs. We look forward to working with more SMEs here to help drive export opportunities for Lahore, and contribute to the growth of Pakistan’s national economy,” said Mr. Song Song.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Maaz Mehmood said: “We are thankful to Alibaba.com for organising this event. Lahore has huge potential for e-commerce but we are still following traditional ways of doing business. We need to encourage buyers and sellers of this age to become part of global e-commerce through platforms such as Alibaba.com.”

Commenting on the potential of Pakistani exports, Ms. Amy Li said: “Apparel and textile export from Pakistan is on the rise with a year-on-year growth of 4.18% in export volume during July-August 2022, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. In particular, the knitwear category witnessed a year-on-year growth of 16.95% in export volume while non-knitted garment a year-on-year growth of 8.49% during the same period. We expect Pakistani export will reach a new level as an increasing number of sellers go online and go global with e-commerce.”

Sharing his thoughts at the event, Mr. Ahmed Jahangir said: “Platforms like Alibaba.com are creating level playing fields and helping businesses to reach genuine global buyers with minimal investment. This helps exporters save time from looking for buyers and allows them to spend more energy on making good-quality products for buyers.”

Pakistan’s Economic Growth In The Next 25 Years

Despite the country’s troubled economy, Pakistan’s progress continues to be discussed in public and provokes heated debates on a national and worldwide scale.

The Margalla Dialogue

At the annual ‘Margalla Dialogue’ conference held in Islamabad, hosted by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), a conversation related to the country’s economic growth took place. The discussion aspires to be the preeminent platform for idea generation and future visioning in today’s rapidly evolving political and technical landscapes.

President of Pakistan H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Former COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Former Senator and Federal Minister Jabbar, and several others were a part of this year’s Margalla Dialogue, which focused on the presently unfolding geopolitical realities on a global scale.

One of the presenters was Ali J. Siddiqui, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States, who projected the country’s GDP growth rate down to the year 2047.

Ali J. Siddiqui’s Analysis

He predicts that in the next quarter-century, Pakistan’s population would increase by a factor of 3.5 if 5% of the economic development rate per year is sustained. However, this number falls short when compared to the growth rate of India, Indonesia, Iran and Bangladesh.

In addition to inflation, he said, Pakistan would have to deal with a population boom of 55% in the next quarter-century, whereas comparable countries are expected to have growth of 10% to 20%. This implies that by the time Pakistan reaches 100, it will be likely to spend just a small fraction of what its counterparts spend on healthcare, education, nutrition, basic needs, and increasing life expectancy and standard of living.

If things continue as they are, the gap between Pakistan and other nations will further widen in terms of human development while the latter would remain in the back of the pack.

Our percentage of global prosperity remains stable despite the fact that more individuals now partake in its benefits thanks to our present level of economic development and government policies. As a result, Pakistani residents won’t benefit as much as they would in comparable nations like Bangladesh, where development is expected to be 12 times higher.

Plans for a Successful Pakistan

Ali added that we should plan for a successful Pakistan in 100 years by acknowledging that we are years behind and that 25 years of work may considerably improve matters. He argues that the current economic climate calls for a “dramatic and thoughtful redesign” of taxation, public finance, and other related policies.

He argued that at this moment, “marginal reforms” would not significantly improve the lives of ordinary folks.

Five Key Takeaways From COP27

Five Key Takeaways From COP27

The biggest win on climate since Paris

A new financing arrangement on loss and damage has been hailed as a “historic event” since it creates a pooled fund for the nations most impacted by climate change. It can be considered the greatest significant advancement in climate change since the COP 2015 Paris Agreement.

For many years, the ghosts that the wealthier world could not see were the victims of a changing environment.

There has always been funding available to reduce carbon emissions or aid nations in adapting to climate change, but there was nothing for people who had lost everything.

“For someone who has seen their home disappear in the floods in Pakistan, a solar panel or a sea wall isn’t much use,” explained Harjeet Singh from the Climate Action Network.

There are a lot of unknowns with the money. What conditions must be met before a payment occurs? Will there be enough money and where will it come from?

Creating the loss and damage fund is more about developing trust and fostering unity than it is about providing money, compensation, or restitution.

This fund shows that no one will be left behind despite the tremendous effects that global warming will have.

It serves as a tangible illustration of how interconnected we all are.

  • …Or the biggest loss on climate since Paris?

The last hours of the negotiations are seen by many nations as a significant setback in the battle against global warming.

Although the loss and damage text were a significant victory, many people believe that the overall cover choice was a squandered opportunity in the battle against climate change.

In addition to all these restrictions, the vocabulary used in relation to fossil fuels was abruptly changed.

There is now a mention of “low emission and renewable energy” in the text.

Given that gas emits fewer emissions than coal, this is thought to be a significant loophole that could enable the development of additional gas resources.

  • The spirit of 1.5C is strong, even if the text is weak

Over the course of the next five years, there is a 50% possibility that we will pass this significant threshold for temperature rises relative to pre-industrial times. By 2031, we’ll probably have permanently surpassed it.

But at COP27, the EU and other rich nations were prepared to sacrifice everything to keep the 1.5C commitment alive.

Their efforts were ultimately in vain since the cover language omitted a mention of the phase-out of all fossil fuels, which was considered as an essential improvement on the decision to phase-down the usage of coal last year.

The richer countries feel a strong feeling of solidarity with the island governments on the topic of keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Between the US, EU, and other wealthy nations and China, which is notably less concerned with the objective, belief in the threshold has also emerged as a crucial point of differentiation.

Though adhering to the ideal will surely make the globe a better place, it also serves as a political and economic link to emerging countries.

Considering this, anticipate the diplomatic ties to deepen over the next several years, even while the science and COP process struggle with 1.5C.

  • The fossil fuel industry has finally come out of the shadows

The existence and influence of fossil fuels, whether they are nations or delegates, was one of the main lessons from COP27.

There were plenty of attendees from the oil and gas sector. 636 people made up the trade teams and national delegations.

At times, the crowded tents were a reminder of a trade show for fossil fuels. The final wording obviously exhibited this effect.

Despite the support of the EU and several other wealthy and poor nations, demands from India and others that all fossil fuels be phased out failed.

A lot of African nations were likewise eager to use the COP as a platform to advertise fresh oil and gas

  • Democracy really matters for the climate

Luiz Ignacio Lula Da Silva, the incoming president of Brazil, was without a doubt the COP’s favorite.

Lula energized the meeting with his pledge to end deforestation entirely by 2030, just as he had done in Copenhagen in 2009.

More than his dedication to the Amazon, Lula revived public confidence in the ability of the voting booth to address the climate crisis.

President Biden did the same in his unassuming manner. His Inflation Reduction Act is likely to remain in place thanks to the Democrats’ ability to hold onto the Senate.

It instantly makes the United States’ 2030 carbon reduction goal attainable.

The acts of the host nation also served as evidence that democracy can be a powerful tool in the fight against climate change.

The meeting was held in an environment that might only be described as barely contained intolerance, with security and monitoring everywhere.

In addition to the current issues with human rights, the Egyptian hosts gave little thought to the conference’s essential practical requirements, such food, drink, and reliable wifi.

When it mattered most, the presidency’s negotiators showed a definite lack of compassion. In the decisive battle, this was extremely important.

COP27 has the potential to make significant strides against climate change. That it ultimately didn’t hit that mark is at least partly down to the hosts.

6 Things You Should Never Do On Facebook

Facebook makes it simple to keep in contact with old pals from high school, post amusing pictures from family vacations, and send all your friends a happy birthday without spending money on a stamp. However, there is a drawback: When you’re set in front of a computer screen, it’s simple to mess up online interactions and forget that you’re speaking to a large audience.

Utilize these suggestions to avoid Facebook gaffes and enhance your social media interactions.

1. Use it as a soapbox

Political topics are sensitive, and things tend to appear in black or white on social media when there are no visual or verbal signals to help people comprehend your message. Social media may not be the greatest platform for debating these topics. Be cautious while expressing your political or religious beliefs if you don’t want to risk being “unfriended.”

2. Get too personal

Posting graphic medical information or images from a wild ladies’ night might have long-lasting repercussions, especially because our Facebook networks sometimes include professional connections.

Younger generations who have grown up using social media could be more likely to overshare and overlook the drawback that potential employers may look them up online. Even if your privacy settings only allow your friends to see your postings, one of your friends could have a public page where anybody can view them. This could in some circumstances have an impact on a job applicant.

3. Publicly criticize a “friend”

A huge no-no on Facebook is criticizing a friend’s parenting methods or picking on a sibling. It’s OK to lightheartedly tease someone you know and understand reasonably well, but it’s never acceptable to be nasty or pick on someone in front of an audience. There are better ways to speak in private that won’t annoy somebody as much.

4. Fish for customers

According to a poll by the social analytics company NM Incite, fishing for customers can send you to the no-friend zone. The second and third most often mentioned reasons for unfriending someone were “offensive statements” and “don’t know them well,” respectively. Abusing a friendship by using your Facebook network to generate sales is unacceptable. Making a Facebook profile for your company is preferable if you want to advertise it and allow customers to opt-in or out.

5. Beg for attention

We’ve all seen the enigmatic messages like “This is the worst day of my life” or “I can’t believe that happened,” which are supposed to elicit worry or compassion. Some of their friends may respond as they had planned, while others may view them as pitiful attention-seeking attempts. When publishing, use your social intelligence and consider why you are doing it. Do you genuinely want other people to know what you’re publishing, or are you simply being selfish? For example, are you posting anything to get compliments on your most recent selfie? If the latter, you might want to think twice.

6. Try to keep us with the “Joneses”

On Facebook, most users portray themselves favorably, and there is nothing wrong with it. Facebook is a platform for showcasing your accomplishments and the positive things that are happening in your life, like a 21st-century scrapbook.

But it might make you feel like your life isn’t good enough when all you see on a friend’s page are positive updates and cheery pictures. The technique, known as “fakebooking,” may have a harmful impact on you. Sociologists discovered that students who used Facebook the most concurred that their friends, even those they don’t know personally, were happier and had better lives in 2012 research published in Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking.

You might need to adjust your viewpoint if your time on Facebook depresses you. Facebook resembles a movie teaser in several ways. You don’t see the entire tale, the resolution, or the bloopers; you just see the highlights. If seeing your friends’ Facebook profiles makes you feel down, remember that they are probably not sharing bad things that are occurring to them. Who wants to capture their worst moments on camera or in a selfie, after all?

Local and foreign student and faculty volunteers join hands to facilitate flood victims in Sindh

Karachi, December 8, 2022: The first batch of Heritage Foundation’s Climate Volunteers programme consisting of ten students and two faculty members of Vienna University of Technology, led by Prof Andrea Rieger-janol, and nine students and three faculty members of UOL (University of Lahore) led by prof. Zeeshan left for their respective homes earlier today after successfully spending 12 days together and getting first-hand experience of the life of flood victims of Sindh’s Punno Village, Mirpurkhas as well as facilitating in their rehabilitation. The programme was initiated by Yasmeen Lari, founder and CEO of Heritage Foundation Pakistan at Cambridge in October at an assembly of various universities from the UK and Europe organised jointly with INTBAU and Department of Architecture, University of Cambridge.
Speaking on behalf of the visiting Viennese students and teachers at a farewell tea given in their honour, Andrea Rieger-janol said, “The last couple of weeks have been an eye-opening experience for us. We spent three days in Lahore where we stayed at the campus and a did a workshop with the Lahore students. It was a great bonding opportunity as later we stayed together in the village, and it was wonderful that we had become familiar with one another by that time.”

Staying in the ‘lodges’, which are essentially the Lari-Octagreen homes – zero-carbon bamboo and mud shelters that that have been designed by Professor Yasmeen Lari, and which one can now see in many villages of Sindh, including Punno Village – they not only got to experience how the villagers live, endured extreme weather conditions – very hot during the day and very cold at night – witnessed village hospitality, warmth and gratitude and ate wholesome, fresh food cooked on traditional choolah.

Speaking on behalf of UOL Syeda Komal Fatima said, “Even though we are Pakistanis from the Punjab, the experience of staying in the village and working with the local artisans was a unique one for all of us. We enjoyed the simplicity of their lives and found the atmosphere relaxing and therapeutic. All the volunteers were divided into three groups and over the course of our stay we rotated in the functions we performed so that each group got to try their hand at everything. The first group concentrated on designing accessories for the shelters to make them better equipped for its inhabitants. The second group observed, documented and experimented with the construction process of building a school beginning from site selection right up to its creation. Made of ten bamboo panels instead of the usual eight, this is a wider structure than the one used in shelters. It was gratifying to see how, in a short time and with little material it was possible to build such a sophisticated structure. And the third group documented the nearby villages and interviewed the villagers so as to get their stories firsthand from them. We now have an overview of at least four villages, know what stage of the developmental process they are at, and have a site plan for them.
It may be noted that Heritage Foundation and INTBAU plans to continue this programme with students of different universities participating from all over the world so as to encourage research, create awareness and facilitate the development of the neglected villages of Pakistan.

Syngenta Pakistan launches Aaghaz centers for facilitation of small farmers

Lahore: 8th December, 2022Syngenta Pakistan Limited, a leading agriculture innovation and technology company providing crop protection, biologicals, seeds, crop-enhancement products and digital services to millions of Pakistani farmers, has stepped up once again for the facilitation of smallholders by successfully introducing “Aaghaz” centers in rural communities. These centers, based on a franchise model in far-flung rural neighborhoods, will now allow the farmers to conveniently get Syngenta’s best-in-class products and technical advisory services without the need to travel long distances.

Estimates suggest that farmers often have to travel as many as 23 KMs to purchase agricultural inputs and to seek agricultural services. This puts farmers, especially small growers, at a disadvantage as travelling long distances comes with additional time and monetary costs. Syngenta’s “Aaghaz” centers address this key challenge faced by the small farmers and will not only help in increasing the competitiveness of smallholders while promoting food security in the country through better farm productivity but will also create micro-entrepreneurial opportunities for the rural population.

The launching ceremony of Syngenta’s first “Aaghaz” center at Bhowana tehsil in Punjab was attended by the regional and country leadership teams of Syngenta, local farmers and other community members. Speaking on the occasion, Pamela Gonzalez (Head of Asia Group, Syngenta) said: Syngenta is here to serve our farmers in Pakistan and help them to increase the yield of their production and the profitability of their business. It is great to see that with this new Aaghaz model we can be closer to many farmers and their communities and serve them better. This is a moment of pride for Syngenta.

These views were further resonated by Zeeshan Hasib Baig – General Manager Syngenta Pakistan – who stated:

At Syngenta, we believe that we are here to serve our growers, with the launch of Aaghaz Franchise the idea is to not only make our products more accessible to growers but also create rural entrepreneurs in villages who can establish and run their own Aaghaz Franchise.  Every Aaghaz Franchise is an extension of Naya Savera Franchise, and is intended to serve the remotest villages of Pakistan.

Implementing Green Budgeting In The Public Sector Is Essential To Tackling Climate Change

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) backs green budgeting for the public sector everywhere to implement climate commitments and achieve their environmental goals.

In Green budgeting: a toolkit for public sector finance professionals published today, ACCA sets out the reasons for considering green budgeting and the methods that can be adopted. It highlights the crucial role that finance professionals must play in taking action on climate change reality.

John Lelliott, OBE, FCCA, chair of ACCA’s Global Forum for Sustainability and former finance director at the UK Crown Estate, wrote a foreword to the toolkit. He says: ‘Action to address the climate crisis requires change across the entire public sector. Climate considerations must be central to public sector organisations’ decision-making processes. The budget cycle is at the heart of the way organisations implement their objectives.’

Green budgeting supports progress towards national and international climate commitments and goals; promotes environmentally responsive policy making; fosters transparency and helps investors as they look to fund sustainable activities through financial instruments such as green bonds.

The toolkit identifies three important conditions to support successful implementation: political will; building on existing processes and adopting green budgeting across the whole public sector – half of all public spending on climate and the environment is at sub-national level.

The report also sets out five key steps to adopting green budgeting: develop a baseline; prioritise spending with the most impact; categorise and monitor spending; ensure external review and then learn and improve.

The toolkit highlights how finance professionals are at the heart of green budgeting and can enable public sector organisations to turn goals and ambitions into costed plans.

Assad Hameed Khan, head of ACCA Pakistan, says: ‘Climate change, as experienced through the recent floods, is already having a profound impact on Pakistan. Government is at the forefront of the response to climate change including the need to integrate and mainstream climate action in every public sector organisation. Accountancy and finance professionals in the public sector will be essential to this task. It’s a great opportunity for public sector accountants to step forward and make a real difference’.

According To Science, Here Are 10 Physical Traits That Reveal Your Personality

A book cannot be judged by its cover. Except sometimes, you can.

While it is not a good idea to generalize about individuals based on their appearance, research has shown that there are a few things we can discern about physical characteristics and someone’s mentality.

So, in this article, we’ll look at 10 intriguing physical characteristics and how they might alter personality – or how others perceive personalities – according to study.

1. People who are taller and have rectangular faces are more likely to be leaders

According to research published in the journal Psychological Science, persons with a rectangular facial shape – or a prominent jaw with high cheekbones and a wide forehead – are perceived as stronger leaders.

According to the study, firms with executives with this facial shape are more likely to be financially successful.

Furthermore, the taller someone is, the more likely we assume they are a great leader.

2 People with strong personalities tend to have strong jaws

Physical strength is frequently correlated with the size of someone’s jawline. If you think about it, you probably already know this instinctively.

But did you know that a strong jaw is often associated with a strong personality?

Yes, and it may be related to the fact that our jaw is the strongest joint in the body

3. More agreeable people have larger eyes

According to Chinese research, those who scored better on agreeableness had brows that looked to be “lifted up” and smaller forehead spans (i.e., the distance between the eyebrows and the hairline). Lower levels of Agreeableness, on the other hand, were related to the inverse, that is, a sunken jaw and brows.

4. Extroverted people tend to have larger lips

According to the same Chinese study, extroverted women had wider noses and lips.

Dr. Mehta has the following to say about it:

“Extroversion was associated with a projecting nose and lips, a recessive chin, and masseter muscles” (the jaw muscles used in chewing). In contrast, people with lower levels of Extroversion had the opposite pattern, with the region surrounding the nose appearing to press against the face.”

5. People with larger noses have more ambition

According to research published in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, there is a link between ambition and wider noses.

Isn’t it fascinating? However, nose type is not the only factor linked to it.

According to Business Insider, a nose with a “fleshy tip” indicates higher empathy for others, while an upturned nose indicates greater extroversion.

6. There are shared behaviors in people with the same eye color

Scientists at Sweden’s Orebro University investigated if personalities were connected to the irises in the eyes.

They discovered that eye color is influenced by the same genes that produce our frontal lobes, and as a result, persons with identical irises exhibit strikingly shared behaviors.

7. Men with larger facial width-to-height ratios are more aggressive

According to a 2009 Canadian study, most women can effectively estimate how aggressive males are.

Researchers also discovered a link between males with bigger face width-to-height ratios and higher levels of perceived hostility.

We interpret someone’s hostility levels based on the breadth of their face, according to research published in Evolution and Human Behavior.

8. Extroverted people smile more

People that are outgoing tend to grin more naturally, but introverts must work harder to maintain a smile in public.

This has been demonstrated in research where participants looked at images of individuals smiling and assessed which ones were more likely to be extroverts based on their grins.

9. Narcissists tend to wear brighter clothing and have more accessories

Image Source: Eat This Not That

A 2009 study found that the way a person looked in a full-body image might predict their level of narcissism. Certain characteristics, such as whether a person was wearing colorful clothes, cosmetics, and accessories, and whether or not they were smiling a lot, led the participants to these conclusions.

10. People who post selfies might be more open to new experiences

People who often upload selfies appear to be more receptive to new experiences than ordinary individual.

A 2015 study discovered that individuals could properly estimate someone’s openness to new experiences based on how happy they seemed in a selfie shot.

So, the next time you find yourself “judging a book by its cover,” remember that it’s not a bad method to figure out someone’s personality.

We may not like the fact that we can assess someone in such a short amount of time, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.

10 Habits That Untrustworthy People Have In Common

10 Habits That Untrustworthy People Have In Common

They say honesty is the best policy, but what happens when you’re dealing with a dishonest person? Untrustworthy persons have a few tendencies in common, ranging from a lack of integrity to breaching norms. Continue reading to learn how to recognize these untrustworthy behaviors and what to do when talking with an untrustworthy individual. On the other hand, here are a few odd behaviors that make you appear trustworthy.

  • Lack of integrity

Lack of integrity is one of the most typical characteristics of untrustworthy persons. They don’t keep their promises. They breach their pledges. They may apologize, but they do not modify their conduct. A person with integrity maintains their name. Someone would suffer if they were betrayed or exploited. For example, you tell them something confidentially and discuss it with others, but you don’t appear to be unhappy that it affects you.

  • Don’t trust others

People that are untrustworthy do not trust others. It seems to reason that someone who has no qualms about breaking their promise and destroying trust cannot believe that other people are trustworthy. What’s intriguing is the breadth and depth of their lack of confidence. They will accuse innocent individuals of engaging in the same actions that they do. For example, a man accuses his wife of cheating because he is, or a manager fears his staff will deceive him because he is defrauding the company’s owner.

  • History of being unreliable

Untrustworthy persons may have a track record of being untrustworthy. They are like slot machines. They know precisely how much they can get away with, and just as you are ready to leave, they do something fantastic to entice you to stay. Untrustworthy people exhibit a range of behaviors, from apologizing (‘I am so sorry I am late again.’) to lying. I know I said I’d be here at 1:00…’) to utterly duping you (‘I never said I’d be here at 1:00. You must have misunderstood me’). The common thread is that you are inclined to believe them despite their track record of being untrustworthy.

  • Break the rules and push past boundaries

Be cautious of an untrustworthy person’s public image, as well as how they behave with friends and family. Though they may appear to be good citizens to the outside world, they reveal their actual natures when they are with close friends and family, individuals with less influence, or those who are beholden to them. They reveal their actual personalities when they are ‘off camera.’

  • Don’t take feelings into account

Have you ever attempted to explain why something made you feel uneasy, but the other person didn’t seem to care? Untrustworthy persons continue to exist. Your emotions are unimportant. They do not quit doing anything that makes you feel uneasy.

  • Lack empathy

Empathy is an essential component of listening to and getting to know another person. When there is no empathy, though, this might be a warning flag. They seem to ignore, be oblivious of, or even relish your discomfort, sickness, or misery. For example, an untrustworthy individual may cross a boundary by interrupting you and refusing to stop even when you express your displeasure.

  • Dominate conversations

There are a few other warning signals to be aware of, such as when someone dominates the conversation. This ‘over-talking’ entails auditory space invasion, which demonstrates that they are in control.

  • Charming

They are engaging and “excellent storytellers,” so listening to them may be intoxicating. Keep an eye out for a lack of inclusion. Loving couples, especially introverted partners, share their speaking time with their partners. It’s not natural to feel that you’re just listening to a monologue or that you’re not involved at all.

  • Tend to blame others

Take note of how frequently they blame others for everything. There are genuine victims of abuse, and we must be compassionate and considerate of them. Someone who acts unkindly, brusquely, and bullies others while claiming victimization is plainly not a victim.

  • Hard to understand

Conversational behaviors such as not getting to the point, making educated guesses rather than giving knowledge, and speaking disorderly and confusingly are all instances of untrustworthy communication.

So, what should you do when talking to somebody untrustworthy? Gauge your level of safety and trust your gut.

It is critical to first determine whether you feel comfortable. If you feel uncomfortable, simply walk away from the individual without feeling horrible or worried about being disrespectful. You may test them by asking them a ‘negative’ question to check if they are safe. Liars know what they’re doing, but they’ve constructed a positive person, so ask them negative questions to see if it makes them unreliable.

Second, untrustworthy people want you to listen to their words rather than their behavioral signals. Your brain is more intelligent than you realize. When individuals lie, they shift their tone of voice or turn much of their body away from you.

Top 10 Movies Of 2022 That Are A Must-Watch

The year so far hasn’t been your typical, everyday, everyday year at the movies. Release dates have continued to change, with more than one major release moving to the more secure surroundings of 2023. The slate of major new releases is still a bit (okay, a lot) thinner than typical.

There is plenty to be happy about, from critically acclaimed films like RRR and Top Gun: Maverick to virtuosic independent treasures like British chef thriller Boiling Point and Aftersun. Here are our top picks for the year thus far.

1. Benediction

IMDB : 6.7

In a biography that manages to be both heartbreakingly sad and PG Wodehouse-funny, Terence Davies gives Great War poet Siegfried Sassoon a moving, flawlessly staged treatment. While Jack Lowton steals the show as the younger version of the once-closeted gay writer who tries to find himself amidst the swarming gadflies of London’s post-war social scene, Peter Capaldi plays the writer in his elder, jaded years.

2. Decision to Leave

IMDB: 7.3

Forget the hammer fights and octopus drinking of Oldboy; Park Chan-slow-burning, wook’s intellectual side is on display in this film. A detective and a young widow are entangled in a complicated dance involving a murder, an investigation, and a lot of barely restrained sensuality in this thriller with a Busan setting.

3. Nope

IMDB: 6.9

Jordan Peele spent the pandemic fusing sci-fi, horror, and westerns to create a completely new kind of monster movie while the rest of us were perfecting sourdough. Without disparaging any of our baking efforts, the outcome was even better: a creepy, unsettling, and occasionally humorous third Peele effort, fueled by Keke Palmer’s electrifying performance, an epic score, and eerie sound effects.

4. All Quiet on the Western Front

IMDB: 7.8

Seen 1917? Prepare for 1918 now. The Great War is in its final stages when Erich Maria Remarque’s classic antiwar novel is set, according to Netflix’s frequently breathtaking German translation. The key word here is “dying,” as this depiction of conflict is the most violent movie you’ll see this year, with a cacophony of exploding shells, rumbling tanks, and the rat-a-tat of bullets.

5. Everything Everywhere All at Once

IMDB: 8.1

There is a small devoted group out there that considers the Swiss Army Man to be an underappreciated classic. For the rest of us, this high-concept multiverse sci-fi serves as the first legitimate example of what the Daniels’ filmmaking talents are capable of. With Michelle Yeoh transitioning from laundry owner suffering through marital turmoil to action star and back again, as well as through a variety of other escapades, she essentially plays a Mike Leigh role.

6. The worst person in the world

IMDB : 7.8

The heart and soul of this heartwarming and creative depiction of one millennial life that plays out over several years in Oslo belongs to Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve. Her medical student-turned-writer is a fantastic representation of the doubts and ambiguities of early adulthood: a whole mix of competing goals, times of directionless and emotional rawness that seems endlessly real. She is certainly not the worst person in the world.

7. AfterSun

IMDB: 7.7

A divorced father (Paul Mescal) and his little daughter (the effortlessly stylish Francesca Corio) navigate the highs and lows of an eventful trip to the Turkish coast in this sun-washed and achingly tragic drama from Scottish director Charlotte Wells. Wells varies the visual style to convey how hazy, distant memories may seep into your bones. Each scene is set in flashback.

8. Brian and Charles

IMDB: 6.7

The biggest surprise of the year is this bittersweet British comedy, which is incredibly endearing, amusing, and heartbreaking. Sure, it’s a strangely shaped box, with Charles Petrescu, the robot it names, being made from the head of an old washing machine that was placed on top of an expressionless mannequin. However, his relationship with lonely inventor Brian Gittins (David Earl) ignites into a spectacular bromance that explores what it means to be human – and half-washing machine – through a much-harder-than-it-looks feat of physical humour, off-beat conversation, and genuine heart.

9.  Hit the road

IMDB: 7.3

Panah Panahi, an Iranian filmmaker, has had a bittersweet 2022: not only did the country’s oppressive regime sentence his father, the legendary auteur Jafar (The White Balloon), to six years in prison, but it also marked the release of his debut film, a seductive but subtly turbulent family drama set on the country’s dusty highways. And what a debut it is; it’s full of biting comedy and social commentary on rural modern life, and six-year-old Rayan Sarlak gives a standout performance as the mischievous kid in the backseat of his family’s SUV.

10. Living

IMDB: 7.6

A lot of Hollywood remakes of Scandinavian thrillers seem completely unnecessary, but others make perfect sense. In this exquisite adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 classic Ikiru, Bill Nighy’s terminally sick civil servant rages, very nicely, against the passing of the light with a little assistance from Aimee Lou Wood from Sex Education as his life-affirming assistant. Nighy has never been better, giving a magnificent performance that ought to leave everyone speechless.

There Are Hidden Netflix Movie Codes You Should Know About

Fans of true crime find a sanctuary on Netflix. Some of the world’s most terrifying and interesting documentaries may now be seen on the streaming service.

The Tinder Swindler, Our Father, Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer tale are just a few of the new titles that Netflix’s real crime library has added this year.

When a new true crime product is produced, it frequently makes the Top 10 list, but other from that, fans typically have to browse the more generic “crime,” “docuseries,” or “documentary” categories to discover one that catches their attention.

Hidden codes on Netflix?

But true crime enthusiasts have now learned a straightforward Netflix trick that has “transformed their lives.” They have discovered that entering specific codes into the search field will produce information, including real crime, that is not included in the genre list.

Type ‘9875’ into the Netflix search bar for all real crime documentaries,” a TikTok user @ taylorkreiling said. The Netflix user entered the digits into the search field in a movie that was uploaded to the site, and a plethora of real crime programming, including The Ripper and Hotel Cecil, appeared.

Fans of true crime flooded the comment area, with one writing: “It works. Netflix is the best place to locate genuine crime.”

The hack

Twitter users are only now learning about the attack, as one user noted: “PSA. On Netflix, searching for “9875” will display all real crime documentaries. That TikTok video changed my life, and I’m glad I watched it.” One more said: “When I discovered that typing “9875” into the Netflix search bar causes all of the murder films to appear, I was just a few years old. Thank you very much.”

One more wrote: “Why did I now discover that Netflix searches for 9875 bring up all the murder documentaries? THIS INFORMATION IS ESSENTIAL!” Remember that while this seems to work for the majority of people, some have encountered errant stuff there.

Why am I seeing Shrek, someone asked?

Another person said, “Peppa Pig also popped up!”

Things You Need To Know About Google Pixel Fold

Things You Need To Know About Google Pixel Fold

Ever since Samsung debuted the first Galaxy Fold, there have been whispers and conjectures regarding a foldable phone created by Google. How would it appear? What would the price be? Is Google even considering developing a foldable Pixel?

After months of minor leaks and claims, the biggest Google Pixel Fold has finally surfaced. FrontPageTech, a website for the latest news on tech gadgets, revealed a ton of renderings revealing the Pixel Fold’s design on November 14. In conclusion, it seems fairly amazing.

The Exterior

We’ll start with the phone’s exterior. The front of the Pixel Fold features a sizable outer display that is substantially broader than the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s little cover screen. A hole-punch cutout with relatively thin bezels all around houses the 9.5MP front-facing camera of the Pixel Fold in addition to the outer screen.

A triple camera system is located on the rear and has a casing that is identical to the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Although the camera configuration isn’t confirmed, it is likely to be the same as the Pixel 7 Pro, with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 48MP telephoto camera.

The Selling Point

A large tablet-like display that looks to be in landscape mode greets us when we open the Pixel Fold. The inner screen has very large bezels on the top and bottom, with the top bezel subtly concealing an additional 9.5MP camera for selfies and video chats. A USB-C charging port, speaker grills on the top and bottom frames, and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button are further design elements.

The Pixel Fold is shown in two colors: chalk and obsidian, both of which the Pixel Fold is expected to be offered at launch. Speaking of the Pixel Fold’s release, FrontPageTech predicts it will happen in May 2023 (probably during Google I/O the following year).

Is it affordable?

The pricing is another intriguing component of this disclosure. According to FrontPageTech, the Google Pixel Fold will cost $1,799. Although it costs a lot and is substantially more costly than the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, it is comparable to other foldable phones. The starting price of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the same as that of the predecessor, the Fold 3: $1,799. At that price, Google won’t be innovating much, but it should also keep the Pixel Fold competitive with its main competition.

The take away

What is the main point to take away from all of this? The Pixel Fold looks fantastic, assuming these images are correct. It’s basically a Googleized version of the Oppo Find N, which is really fantastic. We may be in for a real treat if Google can create a foldable phone with top-notch cameras, along with its normal Pixel smarts owing to a Tensor chip, and support the entire thing with big-screen focused software with Android 13
