TU Eindhoven student team TU/Ecomotive has developed a sustainable electric passenger car that captures more carbon dioxide (CO₂) than it emits while driving. It is a prototype, called Zem, that purifies the air through a special filter. By storing the captured CO₂ and then disposing of it, Zem can contribute to reducing global warming. The students will continue to improve the vehicle in the coming years, to make it carbon-neutral for its entire life cycle and eventually hit the road.
Zem – The Carbon Footprint Controller
Ten Zem cars can store as much carbon as an average tree due to their capacity to capture 2 kilograms of CO₂ through a special filter at 20,000 travel miles per year. While it may not seem like much, the overall payoff is significant if you were to soon implement it on a large scale in every passenger car, the team says.
The filter through which the outside air flows is unique. Meanwhile, the students are currently in the process of applying for a patent for this innovation. “It is still a proof-of-concept, but we can already see that we will be able to increase the capacity of the filter in the coming years. Capturing CO₂ is a prerequisite for compensating for emissions during production and recycling,” explains team manager Louise de Laat.
“We want to tickle the industry by showing what is already possible. And working together. If 35 students can design, develop and build an almost carbon-neutral car in a year, then there are also opportunities and possibilities for the industry.” Says Nikki Okkels, external relations manager at TU/Ecomotive.
“We call on the industry to pick up the challenge, and of course, we are happy to think along with them. We’re not finished developing yet either, and we want to take some big steps in the coming years. We warmly invite car manufacturers to come and take a look.”
Bi-Directional Charging
Another latest technology offered by Zem is bi-directional charging. The bi-directional charging technology makes it possible for cars to provide energy to houses when no renewable energy is being generated at that moment.
The bi-directional charging technology has been paired with solar panels that are implemented on the roof of the car. In this way, Zem makes use of both the batteries and the space on the roof to make the vehicle and its surroundings more sustainable, even when it is not driving.

After hosting full-strength Australia and England, Pakistan is all set to welcome New Zealand for a full-fledged series in two parts. The schedule of New Zealand tour has been announced by PCB today. The ICC World Test Champions will play two test matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship, and three ODIs which will be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League from 27 December to 15 January. They will return for the second leg in April, in which they will play five T20Is and five ODIs from 13 April to 7 May.
The first test match in Karachi (27-31 December) will be New Zealand men’s team’s first game on Pakistan soil since 2003. The Karachi Test will also be New Zealand’s first test match in the city since October 1990 when Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis rattled New Zealand’s batting line up sharing 15 wickets. New Zealand last played a test match in Pakistan in May 2002 Test in Lahore, where Inzamam-ul-Haq scored a memorable 329 and Shoaib Akhtar recorded first innings figures of 8.2-4-11-6.
In September and October of 2021, the New Zealand cricket team visited Pakistan to compete in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). However, on the morning of the first ODI New Zealand Cricket (NZC) reported a security threat, which led to the cancellation of the entire tour. Nonetheless, both cricket boards agreed in December 2021 to play extra matches in Pakistan in April 2023 to compensate for the canceled tour.
👏👏 There was a time when England cancelled tour right after decision made by NewZealand but time doesn't remains the same always. There will be a moment in the last week of December 2022 when England and NewZealand both will be present together in Pakistan to play cricket again
The first leg of the tour for two Tests and three ODIs is part of the ICC’s FTP (Future Tours Programme), while the second leg in April/May is to make up for the abandoned September 2021 tour.
Zakir Khan, PCB Director – International Cricket, said while announcing the tour itinerary, “New Zealand is one of the high-performing sides and the more we will play against the top teams in our backyard, the better we will get as a unit, which is crucial to our objective of featuring inside the top-three across all formats. The New Zealand matches will also provide opportunities to our youngsters to continue to watch and follow their favourite players in action, something they have missed when we were forced to play our international cricket offshore.”
New Zealand will begin the second leg of the Pakistan tour in Karachi with four T20Is (13, 15, 16, and 19 April), followed by the fifth T20I and two ODIs in Lahore (23, 26, and 28 April) and the last three ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi (1, 4 and 7 May).
David White, New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive, expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour, “The BLACKCAPS are very much looking forward to the dual tours. New Zealand and Pakistan share a terrific history in international cricket and there is genuine respect between the two teams as well as the two boards.”
He added, “I know our players can’t wait to arrive and savour the experience of playing in Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi –places that carry a great cricketing heritage.”
New Zealand will be the third high-profile cricket side to tour Pakistan in 2022, after Australia and England. Australia toured Pakistan in March/April, for the first time in twenty-four years. They competed in three tests, three one-day internationals, and one Twenty20 international. Followed by the England team, who visited Pakistan after 17 years and played seven Twenty20 Internationals in the first leg last month. They will return in late November after T20 World Cup, for test matches in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Karachi in December.
Compete Tour itinerary of Pakistan v New Zealand:
27-31 Dec – 1st Test, Karachi (ICC World Test Championship)
4-8 Jan – 2nd Test, Multan (ICC World Test Championship)

Because of these enhancements, you’ll feel like you’re watching movies in theaters again!
Intelligent Functions: Super Convenient!
The C835 has a built-in Google Assistant, allowing you to connect and control your TV with just your voice.
The integration allows you to take advantage of Google’s vast ecosystem, making it easy to cast your content from a mobile device or laptop onto the screen.

Some of us here have a sweet tooth and find life difficult and dysfunctional when we don’t get chocolate. How are we supposed to stay healthy? Plus, dark chocolate is not everyone’s cup of tea. However, there are some dessert recipes with chocolate in town that are incredibly healthy and can fool you when it comes to taste. Have a look:
Because there is no flour or egg in these brownies, the beans offer the necessary texture to make this rich and tasty dessert. However, the completed product lacks any flavor of the beans. Beans are a pantry need, particularly for vegans making this a very healthy chocolate brownie alternative.

Hear hear! Mario is officially coming into a movie and it’s being played by some incredible actors. The teaser has gotten fans talking and it has already given people such distinctive Mario vibes. However, are people taking nicely to the upcoming Mario Bros?
It is him. Mario is played by Chris Pratt in the film. In 2021, co-producer Chris Meledandri stated that Pratt will not perform the stereotypical role of the video game plumber in the unanimated Mario movie. However, Nintendo released a teaser video for The Super Mario Bros. on Thursday, and Pratt sort of revealed the voice he selected.
everything in the Mario movie trailer looks and sounds absolutely great…except for Chris Pratt’s voice lol
In all honesty, the eagerly anticipated Pratt as Mario’s voice was a bit disappointing. It has… Perhaps a hint of Italian in the few words Pratt uses? Or is he simply speaking in his usual voice? As he embarks on his Mushroom Kingdom quest, Pratt’s Mario mainly only reacts to losing his breath.
Ignoring Teething Problems
The overdone, stereotyped voice was definitely not going to be used by Pratt. However, since so little of him can be heard in the teaser, it’s difficult to predict how his Mario will sound. He doesn’t say any of Mario’s well-known catchphrases, such as “Wahoo!” or “It’s me, Mario.” When a lengthier trailer is released, maybe more will be revealed. The animation is more vivid, and there is a better chance to hear some of Jack Black’s terrific Bowser.
It was like four words, but I definitely got Dustin Hoffman “I’m WALKIN HEAH!” vibes.
In a video clip that precedes the teaser, Pratt discusses how he used to play Mario games on a machine at his local laundry, saying, “It’s been a longtime ambition of mine to be Mario.” That’s good to know, but how that dream will come true is still up in the air.
Pratt tweeted about the video after it was released, saying, “After years of playing the games as a child (and an adult), I’m thrilled to introduce Mario to all of you. Enjoy!”
What Seems To Be Lacking?
Jack Black as Bowser and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad were indeed revealed in the trailer. However, several fans were dismayed that Seth Rogen’s notorious laugh from the role of Donkey Kong was missing from the clip.
It’s not similar to Mario. It’s not similar to Mario’s vibe. It’s not even similar to the live action movie version. Just Chris Pratt sounding a little confused
For those of us who are avid book readers, nothing comes close to an hour well spent reading your favorite novel in your pajamas with some snacks right around the corner before going to bed. Bonsai trees are some of the most elegant, yet expensive trees on the market. A bonsai is an art form that originated in sixth-century China and requires many years of education and many hours per day of cultivation.
On the one hand, bonsai plants are, indeed, miniature trees that represent the authentic beauty and majesty of living nature when cultivated in a small container. But apart from the small size, it is the entire spectrum of care, attention, dedication, knowledge, and artistic skills needed to create a bonsai tree masterpiece that often remains invisible to the eye.
What Makes Them So Expensive?
Like many pieces of art, bonsai trees come at a high price. At the 2012 International Bonsai Convention, a tree was on sale for 100 million yen, just under a million dollars. Bonsai trees are a form of artistic expression, dissimilar to other types of plants you can buy at the nursery.
When you purchase a bonsai tree, you are also purchasing a piece of the artist’s vision, but unlike many other pieces of art that are made in days, weeks, or even years, the art of the bonsai tree is created over decades, and sometimes even centuries. Bonsai trees have a trademark aesthetic. They are often placed in large pots with space for other bonsai plants so that they can grow amongst trees and grass to simulate a tiny forest.
Dwarfing involves the cultivation of a regular tree to create a perfect miniature in a small pot. The practice of creating tiny trees is because of the complicated and labour-intensive process required to ensure the different trees engage with each other.
Yamadori is the Japanese practice of collecting bonsai trees that grow organically in nature. Some trees that are grown in the wild create their bonsai trees, based on the complex root system beneath the dirt.
It is extremely rare to find trees raised through the Yamadori method since they are grown in very remote locations. The trees collected using the Yamadori method have a low survival rate when sold in artificial environments.
Bonsai trees in Pakistan can cost somewhere between PKR 5000 – PKR 250,000. Most often, they are imported into Pakistan. However, small businesses have been cultivating the plants on their own as well. Different cities across Pakistan including Karachi and Multan hold several exhibitions to help people get insight and learn the art of Bonsai cultivation.

9th October, 2022: A special screening was held for ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ on the 7th of October at Cue Cinemas, Lahore, ahead of its release on 13th October.
Cinema exhibitors from all over Pakistan were in attendance at the screening and have acclaimed the movie as the ‘perfect blockbuster’ and have predicted it to have a huge box office opening.
Mr. Ashiq Ali, owner of Shabistan/Prince Cinema, Lahore, who was present at the screening said, “Interestingly, the original “Maula Jatt” was screened at our Shabistan cinema in 1979 and ran for a good 2 years over here. I had the opportunity of seeing “The Legend of Maula Jatt” and it is legitimately a great film. I loved the cast and it will prove to be another blockbuster by Bilal Lashari. It will satisfy the fans of the original and will even make new ones along the way. Although the plot is very dependent of that of the original, I found the film to be better than the original in almost every way!”
Haji Tariq of Taj Mahal, Cinema, Faisalabad reflected similar sentiments and said, “I think the makers have made an international standard film which is highly entertaining and will provide value of money to the audiences. I think, it is the most ambitious film to be made in Pakistan, ever. Each and every scene of the film reflects the hard work of the makers”.
The movie has been hailed ‘terrific in every way’ by cinema exhibitors as they went on to praise the film’s high-quality treatment.
According to Mr. Farrukh Rauf, owner of Capri Cinema, Karachi, “I was blown away! Nothing like this has been done in Pakistani cinema before. The film is terrific in every conceivable way. The action and sound design is crazy and intense. The story evolves and you are on the edge of your seat throughout the film. I was not prepared for how emotional it was too. The entire cast has performed very well, especially Fawad and Hamza. Being Karachi based, I had my doubts that the Punjabi language of the film might act as a hindrance for its business there. However, after seeing the film, I can safely say that it is not the case. I expect the film do great business at the box office.”

Chaudhary Atif Kareem, of Nagina Cinema, Faisalabad said, “The film is a profound cinematic experience. Bilal Lashari has done an outstanding job of conceiving the world of “Maul Jatt”. It is a film, which will be liked by the youth of Pakistan. My heartiest congratulations to the entire team.”
TLOMJ is Pakistan’s most expensive production to date and the filmmakers have focused on every little detail. Leveraging VFX expertise from global cinema production and an international stunt team to train the cast, the film has audiences brimming with anticipation for a movie that has established many “firsts” in the Pakistani cinema.
The Legend of Maula Jatt also boasts the biggest star cast for a Pakistani film including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Shafqat Cheema and Ali Azmat.

A few years back we used to go by Capri Cinemas on M.A. Jinnah Road and not even bother to look at the movie billboard. It was partly because of the semi-naked ladies, overly sexualized in hideous outfits. And partly because of the overall desi feel which was constant in every movie with the lead actor carrying a gandasa, making sure you won’t look at the billboard even if you wanted to.
The current generation cannot be more proud of witnessing the revival of Pakistani cinema. The audiences now eagerly wait for the filmmakers to announce new their new, mega-budget ventures, starring their favorite celebs.
This piece is particularly for those curious souls who are excited about what’s coming up for the next by the film industry. Here we have put together the most anticipated Pakistan movies 2019 which are about to hit the theaters next year
Directed by Shamoon Abbasi and produced by Majid Khan, Durj is a feature film based on true events that are beyond horrifying.
The film stars Shamoon himself, and actress Sherry Shah in the lead along with others. Speaking of Sherry Shah, the starlet shook everyone with her avatar in the movie poster. Sherry gained 40 pounds and even shaved her head for her role in the movie, proving her passion for the character in Durj.
The teasers received a great response from the audiences. Let’s hope the movie also lives up to our expectations.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Project Ghazi has seen its fair share of controversy. Proclaimed to be a superhero movie, its release was stopped last year because it was not complete when premiered to a selected audience.
Directed by Nadir Shah, the film couldn’t be released due to technical difficulties but sources confirm that it is now ready for release and will be making it to cinemas sometimes next year. Let’s hope it finally hits the theaters now. Keep your fingers crossed.
After the release of Parwaz Hai Junoon, you might think Sherdil would be similar. Let us ask you something. Did you enjoy watching Sultan and Dangal? Maybe, maybe not… but can you guess what’s similar between the two movies? Yes, the wrestling. So if we can support Bollywood for making movies on similar topics, we can definitely support Pakistani cinema when it does the same, without making comparisons.
Produced by Noman Khan, Sherdil seems a lot more than an acrobatic show of jets. Soon after the release of Parchi, film-maker Azfar Jafri announced working on this grand project which stars Armeena Khan and Mikaal Zulfiqar in the lead roles.
According to the makers, the movie displays women in a powerful role rather than objectifying them as an eye-candy to gain audiences attention. Jafri’s fourth venture also stars Sabeeka Imam and Hassan Niazi.
Penned by Yasir Hussain, Wajahat Rauf announced the third installment of Karachi Se Lahore in August and will be hoping for an Eid ul Fitr release.
The makers of KSL3 promise to bring a full dose of entertainment to the viewers with an ensemble cast including the writer Yasir Hussain himself, Shahzad Shaikh, Ayesha Omar, Kubra Khan, and the internet’s favorite couple Zara Noor Abbas and Asad Siddiqui.
The previous two movies performed well at the box office. Let’s see what the third film can bring to the audiences this time. We just hope the ice cream cone doesn’t make an unwanted cameo in the third installment. *you know what we mean, right?*
Honestly, Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui and Maya Ali look super cute together and there’s no reason to not be excited about them pairing up for Paray Hut Love.
We’ll see Asim Raza directing Sheheryar again after Ho Mann Jahaan. Everyone’s favorite Zara Noor Abbas aka Arsala from the super hit serial Khamoshi is making her cinematic debut with this movie which also stars the ahhh-mazing, Ahmed Ali Butt.
Paray Hut Love is expected to release next year on Eid ul Adha.

Ever since Bilal Lashari announced his version of Maula Jatt 2, fans have been eager to see their favorites, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick on the screen, in their never-seen-before Punjabi avatars.
Fawad Khan’s last movie appearance was in Bollywood’s Kapoor & Sons and fans can’t wait for him to appear on the silver screen again. The much-hyped, high-budget movie has been in production for quite some time now.
Maula Jatt 2 is expected to release on Eid 2019. We definitely can’t wait for the return of Maula which is being termed as a game changer for Pakistan film industry.
Superstar
VeryFilmi
Produced by Momina Duraid, Superstar pairs up the dashing dimpled-boy of Pakistani cinema Bilal Ashraf opposite the gorgeous Mahira Khan. Now that’s a pairing that we’d love to see on the big screen.
Directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, the romantic comedy is expected to bring to you the right amount of entertainment while also delivering some important social messages to the audiences.
After giving outstanding performances in Janaan, Yalghaar and Rangreza, let’s see how Bilal Ashraf impresses the audiences this time.
Superstar is expected to hit the theaters next year around Eid ul Fitr.
Wrong Number 2
YouTube Screen Shot
After the success of Wrong No. which released in 2015, Yasir Nawaz has announced the sequel of the super-hit romantic comedy, starring Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer in the lead roles.
Sami Khan just recently worked with Yasir Nawaz in drama serial Khudgharz which was a hit among the audiences. Let’s see if the director-actor duo can charm the viewers with their cinematic venture as well.
Neelam Muneer who debuted alongside Ahsan Khan in Chupan Chupai last year is indeed an excellent actor and we hope the chemistry between the two actors turns out to be even better than Danish Taimoor and Sohai Ali Abro in the previous installment.
Apart from Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer, the cast includes Jawed Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam, Nayyar Ejaz, and Danish Nawaz among others.
The movie is expected to release in 2019 around Eid.
Saqib Malik’s much-awaited directorial debut, Baaji featuring Meera in the lead, is now in its post-production stage and will be releasing very soon.
According to a press release, “the film is a social drama-cum-thriller set against the backdrop of a fading Lollywood and the emerging new order of the Pakistan film industry.”
Apart from Meera, the features Osman Khalid Butt, Ali Kazmi, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Amna Ilyas, Nisho, and Nayyar Ejaz.
Meera’s comeback movie ‘Baaji’ is expected to hit the theatres in mid-2019.
These were a few Pakistani movies 2019 that are about to hit the silver screen soon. Make sure you go and watch Pakistani movies with your friends and family.

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh handsomely with 21 runs in the first game of the tri-series featuring the host New Zealand too. Mohammad Rizwan bagged man-of-the-match for his 50-ball 78, at a strike rate of 156. As the title says, ‘Nothing changed except the venue’, this match followed the same pattern as the matches in the series against England.
Pakistan team took the fight for New Zealand a few hours after losing the final match to England in the historic 7-match T20I series. However, the Pakistan team took the fortunes (good or bad is up to you) of the England series to New Zealand as well.
The only change was the strike rate of Babar Azam, which came down from his normal 105ish strike rate. Rizwan anchored the innings until the middle overs, completed his fifty, accelerated the innings, and lost his wicket in the process. Although, he is the only consistent batter in the current Pakistan line-up, but he needs to play attack from the start.
Then we have Shan Masood, who is trying to solidify his case and silence the critics who have been after his life, only after two matches, he started well, but couldn’t capitalize. Followed by our wibbly-wobbly middle comprising of Haider Ali, who is richly talented yet failed to play at his full potential in international cricket. He has all the tools to be a match-winner, however, the way he is playing at the moment is questionable.
Iftikhar, on the other hand, has been selected after his performances in the domestic circuit, be it PSL or National T20, yet, he has not been able to replicate that kind of performance with the national team. And then we have Asif Ali, the match winner in the eyes of social media. Khushdil Shah was not part of this match, but he is part of the troubled trio with Asif and Iftikhar.
Back to today’s match, Babar fell early, Rizwan scored 50, Shan played some pleasing shots but fell cheaply, and after that our middle order collapsed just like they have been collapsing since Asia Cup 2022. Bowlers performed not so outstandingly but enough to win the game against troubled Bangladesh, who is also without their regular captain Shakib al Hasan.
The way Pakistan is playing ever since Asia Cup is going to cause troubles at T20 World Cup in Australia. If this middle order couldn’t capitalize on slow Asian wickets, then how would they cope with extra bounce on pace-friendly tracks in Australia? Mark Wood made life miserable for Pakistani batters on Karachi’s wicket, imagine how difficult would it be to face the world’s best fast bowlers that too on fast pitches down under. There are too many questions in Pakistan, and Pakistan has only a few matches before the T20 World Cup to find their answers because World Cups can’t be won banking on one or two players and prayers only.
October, 2022, the National Incubation Center Karachi, in collaboration with The Asia Foundation, launched the ‘Impact Collective’. The initiative is a consortium of organizations committed to initiating research and technology-driven dialogue to address the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues in Pakistan.
This consortium has brought together academia, think tanks, entrepreneur support organizations, and civil society organizations to discuss and solve the most pressing issues related to climate change and its adverse effects on the environment and society.
The event called for a panel of experts that discussed the importance of research and technology in the fight against climate change and how initiative like the Impact Collective can empower academic institutions in researching climate change on a grassroots level. The panel consisted of Durlabh Ashok (Climate Advocate), Afia Salam (Climate Activist], Dr. Noman Ahmad (Dean Architecture & Management Sciences NED University), Farva Minhas (Program Coordinator, The Asia Foundation). The Asia Foundation also launched an app to engage, educate, and mobilize the masses to take action on addressing the climate crisis. This app will serve as a platform to disseminate information and insights about climate change and will also help climate activists organize and coordinate their activities.
The event also hosted three social entrepreneurs who are building climate resilience by implementing disruptive solutions. In their keynote speeches Emaan Danish, Founder – Earth Warriorz, Shahzad Qureshi, Founder – Urban Forest Initiative, and Ahmad Shabbar, Founder – Garbage CAN, stressed on the urgency and importance of climate change, they urged the startup ecosystem to embed Environment Social and Governance framework in their bottom line to ensure the climate change is halted and reversed in time.
As a testament to LMKT’s commitment to the livelihood and economic rehabilitation and restoration of the flood affectees across Pakistan, Project Director NICK offered a donation of PKR 1 Million on behalf of LMKT to The Citizen’s Foundation at the event’s conclusion.
Power banks are an object most of us have at home. It’s also the same thing that many of us fight over because we need one of course! The phone needs charging on the go, the only solution is a power bank. However, did you know it can seriously damage your battery? Here’s what you need to know:
It is more important to maintain the mobile battery charged frequently because of how frequently people use their phones today. It is a known thing that many mobile phone owners must charge their devices at least once every day. Of course, staying permanently plugged into a wall outlet to continue charging the phone is the ideal charging method. But that’s not how life works!
The only way to compensate for the lack of wall outlets wherever we go is to use power banks to keep our mobile gadgets charged.
What Does Your Phone Require?
The majority of mobile phones require a power bank with an output voltage of approximately 5V. The problem, though, is that a lot of power banks are questionable. These power banks have the ability to distribute voltages that are lower or higher than those needed to recharge your phone. Hint: miniso.
The battery life of your mobile device could be seriously harmed if you charge it at the wrong voltage. Unfortunately, there isn’t much evidence to suggest how good your power bank is. You should be wary even if the output voltage written on it indicates the ideal value.
Is It Safe If The Voltage Is Correct?
Yes, your smartphone battery life is safe as long as you get a high-quality power bank. This could be from a recognised brand and have the proper charging cord. It is very important to compare the power bank’s output voltage to your phone’s. You can also do this by comparing how long your phone takes to charge from original charger and the power bank.
Your mobile device’s battery life can’t be affected if the output voltage matches. High-quality power banks will also shield your battery from overcharging, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overheating. A typical lithium battery has a life cycle that includes at least 500 full charges. The 500 full charge cycles would have been exceeded if you charged your phone continuously for 18 months.
Tesla has announced they are going to remove many sensors from their cars going ahead. This could bring a lot of legal action their way and it’s unclear why this huge decision has been made. Read all about what’s going on here:
No matter how you feel about Elon Musk, there is no denying the technical command of Tesla’s vehicles. Tesla’s electric drivetrains offer more power and range than practically anything available in the market. However, there are some valid and understandable worries over their semi-autonomous driving capabilities.
The manufacturer recently announced on Tuesday that it would remove a group of sensors. This would leave Tesla with only cameras to navigate its surroundings. The automaker seemed unconcerned by the probes and legal action that could come its way.
The Difference in Sensors
Previously, radar, six cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors were all part of Tesla’s first sensor suite (USS). However, now the USS will be removed from the Model 3 and Model Y this year. Moreover, the Model S and Model X will follow suit in 2023. The decision could result in financial savings for Tesla following BMW’s decision to put a price on everything.
This will also ease some of the load on the already-stressed semiconductor supply. However, even if it does that, it won’t change the opinion of those who already believe that the manufacturer exaggerates the capacities. Is there anything such as Full Self-Driving and Autopilot technologies?
Are There Drawbacks To This?
There are some drawbacks to the move because this is Tesla, duh! Autopark, Park Assist, and features like Summon/Smart Summon are all fully functional in vehicles with USS only. Future Tesla models without those sensors will only be able to use a subset of those functions. This too until the carmaker releases software updates that activate and enhance their capability. The car manufacturer pointed out also that the temporary restrictions on some features wouldn’t affect the vehicles’ crash test results. They are not compromising on safety.

It’s simple to rejoin the Tesla haters and make fun of the automaker for removing amenities but the world is moving into a recession. Tesla is confident in its camera-based systems and claims that our roadways were built with humans in mind.
“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well”– Virginia Woolf. We sure do agree with this saying. The fact that food has shaped our lifestyles and cultural values from the get-go are something often understated. However, when did the restaurant industry start taking shape? Let’s dive into a little history of restaurants before we share some interesting facts with you.
The word ‘restaurant’ derives from the French verb, ‘restaurer,’ meaning to restore. The idea of restaurants started decades upon decades ago. The model has since expanded in so many unique and interesting ways. Originally a word to describe a thick and cheap soup said to heal and restore health, has now turned into a $900 billion industry. Knowing history paints a picture of the tremendous evolution of the food service industry.
Here are some interesting facts you need to see about the restaurant industry.
1. Tokyo Has The Highest Number Of Michelin-Star Restaurants
Tokyo ranks number one in the world with 166 restaurants with one star, 56 with two stars and 12 with three stars. If you want deep dive into Michelin-starred restaurants, Tokyo is the place to be. The other two cities with the most Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris and Kyoto in Japan.

2. United States Oldest Restaurant
The oldest restaurant in the U.S. is the Union Oyster House in the 21st most populous city of Boston, Massachusetts. Still operating and surrounded by so much history, the building itself housed other businesses since 1714.
3. French Revolution Introduced Fine Dining
After Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette lost their heads during the French Revolution, the French aristocracy crumbled. Chefs, who were once employed by noble households, found themselves jobless. So, many of these displaced workers decided to open up their establishments and offer prix fixe meals to the masses. Eventually, the French style of dining outspread to Great Britain and across the Atlantic to the United States.
Bawabet Dimashq Restaurant, which translates to Damascus Gate Restaurant, is located in Damascus, Syria, and has 6,014 seats and a 580,000-square-foot dining area. Considered the world’s largest restaurant the Dimashq employs 1,800 staff.

6. Switzerland Offers The Most Expensive Meals
A basic meal for two will cost a customer an average of £53.85 in Zurich. Followed by Copenhagen’s £46.55 and San Fransisco’s £46.40 which are also featured in the top 3 most expensive cities to eat out.

7. Vegas’s Most Expensive Burgers
There are plenty of pricey burgers out there. Burger Brasserie in Paris, Las Vegas, offers a $777 Kobe beef burger, which contains Maine lobster, caramelized onions, imported Brie cheese, crispy prosciutto, and 100-year aged balsamic vinegar. But the most expensive burger? It goes to Fleur at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, which offers an astounding $5,000 burger.
All franchises are chain restaurants, but not all chains are franchises. Case in point: Starbucks. The coffee giant is one of the biggest chains in the entire world. But, unlike McDonald’s, which is the largest chain in the world, Starbucks is owned by the same company, not a group of franchisees.
