[Update: November 5th, 2021]: 2022’s installment of QS Asia University rankings list is out. This is yet again a proud moment for Pakistan because, within three years, we have risen quite some ranks. In 2018, the same list featured 23 Pakistani universities. Today, it has 47 Pakistani universities gracing the list.

Even essential food items like flour and pulses can seem quite expensive to the common person. In light of that, the government has decided to launch the Ehsaas Rashan program. It is one of the many schemes that have been launched by the government. However, rather than being aimed at students, this one looks towards another vast majority.

There are quite a few things that can be told about this program. However, we shall dive into them later on, one by one. It does seem that the program can bring out a lot of benefits for the people, especially those that have been greatly affected by this price hike.

Ehsaas Rashan Benefits And Requirements

According to sources, this program will provide Rs.1000/- subsidy per month, to each of the 20 million families. These are going to be for flour, pulses, and cooking oil. Those who wish to benefit from this must have a valid CNIC. They will be able to purchase goods from the designated kiryaana stores on a 30% subsidy. A list, with the registered people, is going to be displayed in 3 to 4 weeks. This is going to be done after a careful scrutinization process.

The registered individuals are going to be issued rashan cards. This seems quite familiar to the system that used to be present in Pakistan some time back. Even then, many people used rashan cards to purchase goods that were, otherwise, quite expensive.

Who Qualifies For This?

This program will cover more than 20 million households in the country that have a poverty score of less than 39. This also extends to those that have an income less than or equal to Rs.31,000/- It seems, as per an estimate, 60% of Pakistan’s population is going to benefit from this program. This is how big of a scale the program is operating on. It really shows the dedication of the government to provide for the people of the country. Everyone deserves to flourish.

It has also been noted that government employees, with income less than Rs.31,000/- are also eligible for this program. It does not just extend to the private sector but a much wider one too. As far as IMF is concerned, they are quite aware of the program that is taking place. Pakistan has shown nothing but transparency here so it is not in poor intentions.

Ehsaas Rashan And Technology

The Kiryaana merchants are going to be using an application to verify the registered people, under the program. This is going to make sure there is no injustice or abuse anywhere. Kiryaana merchants, with a valid bank account, will be eligible to receive the subsidy to distribute to the cardholders.

That said, we hope there is much fruit to bear when this program takes full effect. After all, there is no better feeling in the world than to be able to help someone in any way. It is as Muhammad Ali said,

Rule # 1: Thou shalt always eatfrom the dirtiest street-side vendor

Who hasn’t eaten dahi chana chaat from the thaila wala or gol gappay from your nearest food cabin? I am sure no one! Karachi is famous for its desi chaats, samosas and parathas and the dirtier the thaila, the tastier the food for us Karachiites.

Microsoft has been quietly making advances in the last year or so. At first, we thought they were just working in the dark. Yet, when Windows 11 came out, everyone got quite excited. Despite there being so much chaos due to the pandemic, this release has gotten a lot of benefit to Microsoft. However, like every new window, there are some bugs associated with it. When Windows 10 first came out, it was also the subject of bugs.

A while back, the new windows were said to house a bug. Bugs, within new windows, are entirely normal. Whether anyone has come across them is a different matter but they do exist. Now, it seems that a second bug has hit them, causing a form of havoc that was not expected. Let us dive into the details of the bug itself. Who knows, maybe there is much more than we can currently think of.

The bug, that has been observed, is embedded deep inside the file explorer. The file explorer is essential for keeping an eye on every file and folder on your computer. No matter what you are doing, you have to access it either way. The bug has been reported in reference to the context menu which appears in the explorer. The context menu appears when you right-click on any file or folder. It, then, gives the options to perform various actions, including copy, paste, and delete.

To make it more convenient, Windows 11 decided to turn, the most used options, into icons at the top of the context menu. However, it has been reported by many users that there is a delay in opening the menu. There is nearly half a second of delay, which seems a lot when you are working quickly and swiftly. Additionally, the context menu, sometimes, seems to glitch on the first right-click and try to adjust. It all just seems quite sloppy, at this point.

Newer Technologies

It has also been observed that the bug has been common on lower-end PCs more. Not only that, but it’s proving to be quite an annoyance for people. They are saying that they prefer the older context menu because it was instant loading. This one just makes your experience feel dull.

However, we must inform you that a fix, for this bug, has already been implemented and is being tested in preview versions of Windows 11.

Netflix has blessed us with the trailer of the showdown. The hit Netflix original, Money Heist is coming back for its last run, Season 5 (part 2), on December 3rd. A month before the premiere, Netflix has released a trailer of the final part of the Money Heist, and needless to say, it has left the fans in tears.

In it, the Professor is haunted by his actions and their consequences while his robbery team and special forces prepare for an all-out war inside Spain’s Royal Mint.

The trailer opens on a nerve-wracking scene where Professor is seen entering the building. Given that this is the first time the professor has come forward in front of thousands of people, the actual scene might be the turning point in the series finale. The trailer follows the group mourning the loss of Tokyo, which then transitioned to some action-packed clips. Towards the end of the scene, Sierra is also seen pointing a gun at someone in the car. Nonetheless, the trailer is a roller coaster of emotions, and we can’t imagine anything else.

Yet, Airlift has established itself within a short span of time that has ventured into multiple cities.

The new TVC by Airlift casts Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor. The real-life husband and wife portray a typical married Pakistani couple. Considering we know how these two are married but also that it is clearly not their life, the way they act it out is just extremely interesting. Plus, we can relate to it because we have seen instances shown in the TVC all around us. Take a look at the TVC.

The ad shows a couple discussing their journey (the wife does the most talking). As she talks, you see flashbacks on how women usually cover up their experience exactly how Ayeza’s character does.

Without using Airlift’s name, the stories just revolve around grocery and how the wife was always dependant on her husband in grocery shopping.

It is interesting how almost all ads Ayeza Khan is cast in has us making a comment on. Remember the story with Faiza beauty cream? The dialogues made in the TVC felt like the actress was not comfortable with her own skin color and it was the cream she attributed her success to. However, this ad is surely praise-worthy.

Looking at the number of amazing Eid and Diwali ads India features, maybe Pakistani brands will also begin to do the same soon.

Car accidents are rampant everywhere and often truly accidental. However, hit-and-run cases are a malevolent force that grips Pakistan. Be it elite or the common man, the instinctive reaction is to leave the injured to fend for themselves once an accident occurs. The same occurred recently in Islamabad, allegedly by a female rally racer, leading to the loss of human life.

A speeding sports car near F-11 Markaz in Islamabad slammed against a motorbike with two young men. The sports car is being traced to the Pakistani female racer Salma Marwat Khan. The collision crushed a young man to death and left the other critically injured. The horrifying accident took place on Wednesday.

It is being reported that the female racer fled the scene after colliding with the motorbike, leaving the two men to struggle alone on the road.

What Has The Police Found?

According to the police, the two young men were brothers. One was killed on spot and the other is currently fighting for his life with critical injuries. As a result, there is no one to give a testimony at the moment. However, the on-lookers have narrated the incident which is why Salma Marwat Khan is being accused of the hit-and-run case.

After someone reported the incident to the rescue officials, they rushed to the scene and tried to rush the two to the hospital. The young men’s father has registered a case against the female racer because her irresponsibility has robbed a family of their son. The police have launched investigations.

Case Proceedings

The father’s statement to the police says, “My sons, Bashir Ahmed and Hamza were heading to F-11 Markaz on their motorcycle when a speedy car, being driven by an unknown woman, hit them from the backside and escaped from the scene. Resultantly, Bashir Ahmed died on the spot while Hamza received critical wounds.”

He demands authorities to launch a full investigation that brings the culprit to justice. This will also be essential to ensure that hit-and-run cases are controlled in Pakistan. A benchmark or an example should be made out of this case. Simply being a renowned racer should not be enough to take a life and flee from the scene. We’re hoping for justice.

This initiative alone will play a significant role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy by boosting its exports.
