It is our duty to ensure that our youth is not forced to abandon education. If our youth is uneducated, it will reflect badly on the future of the country. It seems that the banks in Pakistan realize this responsibility, which is why a number of them are offering student loans.

1. JS Bank

With JS bank, you can not only dream of acquiring higher studies in local universities but also abroad. The bank offers up to $70,000 for scholarships per student, for one calendar year. Of course, that means the desired university should be an accredited one.

Admission charges can also be included in the scholarship, and there is no limit to how many universities you apply to. However, all such applications should have documentary evidence to support them. The scholarship includes tuition fee, living expenses, as well as miscellaneous expenses such as health, insurance, union sports, library fees, etc.

2. Bank Alfalah

Bank Alfalah has similar pointers when it comes to student loans for higher studies. They, too, are providing loans of upto $70,000. All you need to do is submit 5 documents; one application form, your cnic, your parent’s cnic, admission letter, and the fee breakup.

3. MCB

Partnering with LUMS, MCB has a good news for candidates hoping to get their MBA from the university. The defined age group for the opportunity is 21 to 45. To get this loan, you need to have 50% marks in the last degree exam, and LUMS should confirm this in writing. Otherwise, you will stand ineligible for the said scholarship.

4. UBL

UBL also offers an opportunity for students to study in the best universities here and abroad. Including your living expenses and tuition fee, even of the total comes up to $70,000 you can readily get the funding.

5. NBP

Graduate, Post-Graduate, and PhD students can avail loans through National Bank. The age of applicants, however, shall not exceed 21, 31, and 36 years respectively. If you get the funding, you should keep in mind that the bank will pay your university directly for your tuition and living expenses. As for the funds for resources, that you will get directly.

Izzat Majeed is not just the founder of an exceptional ensemble called Sachal Studios but he is also the man responsible for a resurrection of Pakistan’s Classical music genre.

In fact, the veteran took his patronage of classical music a step further by incorporating his unparalleled liking for Jazz into the works produced by Sachal Studios. Hence, he created an offshoot of Sachal Jazz Ensemble that has been earning Pakistan a reputable place in the musical front worldwide. It has also introduced a unique fusion concept of Jazz and local classical music.

Much of Izzat Majeed’s early life was spent in Lahore that was nothing short of a cultural hub. Therefore, the degeneration of the local artistic culture had left him deeply shaken. This served as his primary motivation to become the savior of Pakistani music through Sachal Studios.

In an interview with Brandsynario Izzat Majeed talked about the various aspects of his musical mastermind.

Of course, the foundation of Sachal Studios and its development was no piece of cake. However, the humble musician claims himself very fortunate in this regard and describes his passionate journey with sheer love.

We were very lucky. Considering we are an Abbey Road Studio, those guys came to Pakistan bringing their machinery. Then 6 months later they came again, to make sure everything is fine. This is the best set-up.

Even more amazing is the story of jazz’s revival in Pakistan via Sachal Studios. Till date, the platform is working hard on its mission and surely has been victorious.

One thing to be noted is the stark difference between classical work of Sachal Studios and that being produced commercially. However, Izzat is not satisfied with the work being done in the music industry.

No – I do not understand what they are doing. I’m sure they also do not understand what we are doing.

You will fall in utter fondness of Jazz, once you hear Izzat talk about it! He vehemently describes the genre, making it clear that the jive is part of his soul

I’ll tell you something, Jazz is the basic frontal in Pakistan and India – there is one basic structure. Even if you leave out the raag, that itself and Jazz itself is the same. So you play Jazz, pump it in and then play around with it any way you want. Raag is the same.

It is commendable that the work of Sachal Studios has traveled far and wide, receiving international acclaim. Even Hollywood actress, Meryl Streep could not stop herself from swaying and enjoying the performance of Sachal group.

A few weeks back, Sachal’s rendition of Game of Thrones title track went viral. It was adored so much that publications worldwide lauded the harmony and paid their tribute to Izzat Majeed’s brainchild.

Izzat surely loves his family and believes that together they have achieved their aim.

Pakistan Sees Arrival Of Chery Tiggo 4 And 8 For Testing

There is no lack of new vehicle entries in Pakistan anymore. The days of limited brands are gone from this place. Where we used to think there was only a handful, brands like Changan and Chery are coming. Some of the vehicles have become highly popular in the country and we are expecting many more to take the same path. Despite there being so much competition, each brand and vehicle is getting the appropriate time in the spotlight. Now, two Chery Tiggo models have arrived in Pakistan.

According to a report that was released, two Chery Tiggo vehicles have arrived in Pakistan for testing. They also stand as proof that Pakistan is not lagging too far behind in the automobile industry. The Chinese company, Chery, has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Ghandhara Nissan Limited to produce vehicles. This way, Chery can establish a better standing in the local market.

Chery Tiggo 4

This is a 5-seater subcompact crossover with quite a lot of functionality. It is powered by a 1.5 Litre turbo-charged or a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine with a CVT gearbox. You know the car is going to perform well when you understand what it offers, so don’t forget to check it out on your own too. From ABS, EBD and traction control, the vehicle has everything. Its seats are meant to provide the highest level of comfort, without any compromise in quality.

While it is the smaller of the two test units, it is sure to attract a lot of buyers too. The specifications go on and on. We have yet to see how it fares on the streets of Pakistan. However, the vehicle will go up in competition against competitors like Honda and Proton X50. The price is yet to be known but the test unit is here so progress is definitely being made.

The Complaint Against Chili Mili

A person on Twitter by the name of Usama Lali wanted to sort something out. “Why is Chili Mili no longer juicy?” His main issue is why the jelly is manufactured nowadays to be so dry and rubber-like. The guy should definitely pursue stand-up comedy because the “Chili Mili dry fruit” had us rolling on the floor. Jokes aside, how true is it?

Jellies like Chili Mili made our childhood. There have been so many more Pakistani manufactured jellies and toffees that we grew on that are no longer the same, unfortunately. We remember the time jubilee tasted better than any imported chocolate. The gummy bears jelly also used to be amazing with so many of the red ones inside the packet (the best ones).

Moreover, as Usama mentioned, Chili Mili used to be juicy. Besides this, Fruitella was the star of the show. Though it still tastes great at times, it doesn’t have that addictive quality anymore. We hope all these jellies and toffies can be revived and brought back— there’s nothing like them.

Coca-Cola has introduced a new smart way to package their cans and we couldn’t be more glad. After years and years of roasts and a pandemic, it seems they have finally knocked some sense into their packaging head (is there any?). Here’s what they’ve done:

The Cans Come Sealed Now

Now the cans come sealed! People are sharing this picture of the new Coca-Cola cans packaging and people were crazy over it. The cans have a seal on top of their rim which can be peeled back to reveal the rim. Unfortunately, this appears to be in a Middle Eastern company for now.

What Does This Do?

Have you ever been shamed by family or friends for drinking straight from the can when you ordered a fizzy drink? However, at the moment we undermine or rather ignore the health hazard and the fact that they are right. Most places serve cans and there’s no better way to enjoy the drink than have it straight from the can.

However, why had Coca-Cola not thought about this all this time? That the top of cans can be covered! With the top being covered, essentially, the place where you drink it from is clean. This means you will not be consuming the germs of whoever held the cans or wherever they stored them.

Has The Pandemic Prompted This?

The pandemic has taught us many lessons on cleanliness and protection from germs. Could it be that this packaging which has finally come about is due to the pandemic? Though there hasn’t been any report on the transmission of coronavirus through ingestion, many refuse to get bottles now. It means they can come with the germ on it which you can get on your hands.

Though this new packaging will protect many from ingesting germs, we doubt it’ll do anything to keep corona at bay.

Sarwat Gilani has found herself at the receiving end of major backlash since her stories have spread far and wide. In her stories, she is trying to make her cook, who is a Hindu, feel safe in her home in Pakistan by celebrating an event he holds close to her heart.

Celebrating Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is an event that is celebrated by the Hindu community. Girls in the family tie a bracelet on the men whom they then call bhaiya. This event is for sisters to honour their brothers and celebrate them as their protectors. It appears Sarwat Gilani’s cook, Ghanaish, is a Hindu who has settled in Pakistan.

It is unclear whether he has his family here or not and so, why should he spend this day alone? Sarwat Gilani celebrated Raksha Bandhan with him and became his sister to make him feel that Pakistan is also his home.

However, the option is currently available in few markets only. To send or receive a payment, all you need to do is add your bank account details in the option.

The latest WhatsApp version from the android beta has the payment option mentioned in the chat bar. The change is spotted in version 2.21.17 of the beta app. However, within a few months, the choice will be available for use for everyone.

Apple’s next iPhone launch is only a month away which means the speculations about it are on the rise. As snippets of information about it start releasing, we’re finding out more things about Apple iPhone 13. As a result, we’ve found something rather shocking. Are you ready to find out?

Not Getting What?

Bloomberg is a business reporting site that has some of the latest information on almost all tech-related things. As such, Bloomberg’s reporter, Mark Gurman has claimed that iPhone 13 may be in the pipeline without a touch ID.

According to Gurman’s report, Apple’s plans do not include launching this phone with a touch ID. However, they do want to add it in the future. He furthermore added that Apple has “long-term plans” related to Face ID. Such that they want to make it a necessity in the display of each phone.

Possible Scenarios

Gurman also speculates that the future of the Apple iPhone 13 may have two possible scenarios. There is one which is that high-end iPhones will get in-display Face ID which would obviously raise their price. The other possibility is that the low-end models will stick to the regular Face ID in the notch.

However, there is also the best of both worlds as the previous scenarios are rather exclusive. It may be that high-end iPhones will get in-display Face ID while the cheaper models will remain with in-display Touch ID instead.

iPhone 13 Details

The iPhone 13 is reported to have a smaller display notch. Moreover, it is rumoured to be coming with a 120Hz refresh rate for the first time for Apple. In the Pro series, Apple will be bringing this refresh rate for the first time. Some speculative reports have also shared the claim that the phones can have up to 1TB space this time around (finally something we can get behind).

The 13 models will feature bigger batteries because of research and development simply. The new space-saving internal circuitry by Apple has made the new model capable of 1TB. The same report also assures fans that there will be mmWave 5G for countries outside of the United States and fast charging will also improve. Is this a phone or the latest technology embodied coming for our hands?

There is no word on the launch yet but it is expected to be at the end of September. Additionally, the price hasn’t been released yet. When it does, make sure you’re sitting down for it.

These may just be small projects but Mahira Khan has an ongoing TV drama as well. While only 4 episodes of the project have come out, the drama looks hopeful because not only does the cast involves Mahira but also Usman Mukhtar, and Kubra Khan; both of whom are known for standing for empowering content. The character seems mysterious which is the best part because it gives substance to them, unlike the staying quiet, ‘letting-the-world-play-with-you’ characters. Hopefully, with time, more stars will join the queue and begin producing content that shows the Pakistani women that they and their individuality matter.

Instructions

Toast 2 slices of bread on a grill pan.
Slice tomato and cucumber and spread onto one piece of toast.
Top the veggies with chicken, the sauce of your choice and the second piece of toast.

3. Veggies & Egg Salad

This quirky, easy to make and aesthetically pleasing salad is not just for salad lovers. This delicious lunch recipe is full of nutrients and fibres packed with enough carbs to keep you going all day.

Ingredients

Three tablespoons nonfat plain yoghurt
Three tablespoons reduced-fat mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
Two hardboiled egg

Instructions

Combine yoghurt, mayonnaise, pepper, and salt in a medium bowl.
Add egg whites and mash to desired consistency.
Gently stir in carrot and cucumber.

4. Chickpea Salad

You can swap your chicken for chickpeas if you do not like the hassle of cooking chicken. This salad recipe is packed with nutrients like fibre and rich in taste, not making you miss those full of carbs meals.

Ingredients

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 mustard
2 cups chickpea
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt/plain salt

Instructions

Stir together mayonnaise, mustard, salt, paprika, and pepper in a bowl until combined.
Combine chickpeas in the mixture.
Refrigerate for up to four days.

5. Chicken Wraps

The elements of a classic club sandwich wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla provide the best option for days when you are working a little longer than usual. Serve with extra sauce to get that irresistible taste.

Ingredients

1 pound boneless chicken breast
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Three tablespoons cider vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
Two tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Four green-leaf lettuce
Four 10-inch flour tortillas
One medium cucumber chopped

Instructions

Sprinkle chicken on both sides with 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Grill the chicken, turning once or twice until turned brown.
Mix vinegar, olive oil, salt and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a large bowl. Chop the chicken into bite-size pieces and add to the bowl along with cucumber.
To assemble the wraps, place two lettuce leaves on each tortilla and top with chicken salad. Roll up like a burrito.
Cut in half if desired.
