It looks like the violence and domestic abuse incidents are nowhere to stop unless there is accountability for the crimes. Yesterday, yet another case of domestic violence was caught on camera in a renowned restaurant in DHA Islamabad by the actor Meiraj Haq.
Meiraj Haq Caught A Husband Beating His Wife
Yesterday, Meiraj Haq took to Instagram to share the news, which was witnessed by many in a restaurant in Islamabad. He recorded an incident where the husband was physically abusing his wife in public. However, no one came forward to help the victim, and everyone remained still as a bystander.
As soon as the actor intervened, the husband started shouting at him too. He moved on to say that; She is my wife. You have no right to do anything about it. Adding, I was beating her up because it’s my problem.
The situation seemed to keep escalating. However, the actor informed the authorities so that appropriate measures could be taken to protect the victim.
Meiraj Haq’s Stance On The Incident
Later the actor took to social media to explain the situation regarding the incident. He stated;
“I did everything I could do to protect the safety and wellbeing of women. I reached out to the police, DHA and all those who could take measures to ensure her safety. Today, the authorities and I talked to her, and she mentioned that Im happy with my husband, and I have no issues whatsoever. Kindly terminate the case because it’s a matter of my respect.”
He then added;
“I refrained from posting personal details regarding both husband and wife because the situation is critical and should be addressed carefully. I did everything I could do to try and manage the situation.”
He then pleaded with the public to notice the alarming rise in domestic violence cases. “If you see someone in help, kindly move forward and help them as much as you since our parents and religions teach us to do so.”
Amidst the alarming situation, the domestic violence bill presented by Shiren Mazari has not been passed as of yet. Meanwhile, it’s high time that authorities take some measures to ensure the safety and well-being of women in our society.

Choosing the right partner can be tough. While in our culture, sometimes they just fall in our laps, other times it comes to you through other ways. So have you wondered about how you can be sure you have made the right choice?
It turns out you’re lucky, answer these questions and you’ll know.
1. The Fights in The Relationship
When you have a fight with each other, does their mistreatment make you want to change them or walk away? If it’s the former, it shows that you believe in them and want to work on a better future. If it’s the latter, it shows they don’t hold enough value in your heart to make you want to stick around.
2. When Does It Feel Good?
Ask yourself this: does the relationship require specific circumstances to feel good? In other words, is it rarely and very conditional for the relationship to be at a point that you feel happy? If yes, that is a red flag. A healthy and long-lasting relationship must not need specific circumstances to make you feel safe.
3. What Are You Seeking?
Another important question to ask yourself is about what you are really seeking from this relationship. Are you seeking a real connection from this person or simply validation? A good way of gauging this is to reflect on how you feel when they don’t agree with you, support you, or challenge you.
4. The Dominant Feeling
You should also be thinking about how the relationship with this person leaves you feeling most of the time. No relationship is perfect or ideal. However, there are certain conditions that can help you create one. What is the dominant feeling this person leaves you with most of the time?
5. What Are You Afraid Of?
An essential question you should ask yourself is pertaining to fear of confrontation. Do you feel afraid of confronting certain truths or asking certain questions because they can disrupt the relationship? If yes, this shows you are hesitant to be honest with this person.

6. Are They On The Same Wavelength?
Another huge area you must cover or be assured of is your emotional connection. Are they emotionally in tune with you or do you feel the need to write a manual? It is important that they know how to give you what you need emotionally (most of the times) rather than you having to instruct it all.
Though asking yourself these questions may not give you the desired answer but they are essential to you making a well-informed decision.

Automobiles have come quite a long way from the time of initial combustion engines. Today, the field is developing at a swift rate. Soon enough, the architecture of automobiles will consist of a lot of electric vehicles. While there is still time before that happens, there may not be too much time. Javed Afridi has been posting about a lot of MG developments. In recent news, he has just welcomed Mahira Khan to the brand.
Yes, the famous, talented actress has appeared in a video that introduces the MG in a new light. The video showcases quite a lot and it’s like an initiation video of Mahira Khan in the MG Club. The club itself can be considered as a type of family. It is growing big every day and now she is a part of it too! Is this not a moment to appreciate the growth of the company?
As you can see, the video starts off with a hangar shot. Here, we can see a sole MG vehicle standing and a pilot standing next to it. The pilot is later revealed to be Mahira Khan, who is shown as the pilot. The idea behind the video is quite ingenious and it shows the MG vehicle in a majestic light.
Getting Mahira Khan onboard also means that MG is getting greater exposure. Additionally, the video seems as if it took a lot of hard work and production. We are happy to see that the family of the MG Club is expanding day by day, adding new people to it.
Promotion Of MG
We hope that this development brings good news for the company. If one renowned personality can vouch for this brand and join the family, more can too! Before we know it, MG could become one of the biggest car brands in Pakistan. Additionally, them manufacturing vehicles on a local scale only means good things for the company and country.
Let us see what happens more as the company develops. Javed Afridi always has interesting pieces of news for us, if you follow him online. Who knows what else he has up his sleeve?
Ten Pakistanis participated in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Unfortunately, nine of them were eliminated in the initial rounds only. Arshad Nadeem, Pakistani Javelin thrower was the only citizen to have made it to the final round of Olympics. Most of Pakistan was looking forward to his performance.
Rooting for our athlete, we also tuned in to watch the famous throw at exactly 4pm Pakistani time on 8th July 2021. The finals consisted of 12 contestants from different countries who needed to play 6 rounds.
In the first round, 4 of them were to be left behind and 8 were to continue to finals.
Nadeem Arshad Making Tremendous Effort
All through the event, we could see that the player were making a huge effort. Fun fact to note, athletes from Pakistan and India were competing against each other. It is certainly interesting to see Pakistan and India clash on the sports field yet again. People were as excited to watch it as they are when a cricket match between the two takes place.
After a while into the first round, two contestants were eliminated. At this point, Nadeem Arshad was at number 6 and Neeraj Chopra, from India, at number 1. The contest was fierce and no one was willing to give in.
What Became?
After much collision and throws, it seems that Nadeem Arshad overstepped in one of his throws. While the throw itself was impressive, sadly, it did not count. Thus, this put him out of the race for a medal. However, this does not mean that all of his efforts must be disregarded. He secured 5th position even if he was not able to secure a medal. The fact that he reached the finals shows how much potential he is. It takes quite a lot of power to make it that far in an international event.
You have various countries competing with you and you still make it out that high: this not only highlights his determination but his strength as well. There is no shame in this and Pakistan stands with Nadeem Arshad. He is truly an Olympian worthy of praise. Pakistan feels proud to see how far our golden athlete has come.
#ArshadNadeem, thank you for giving us hope and taking us this far. Pakistan is proud of you. #Olympics
Thank you #ArshadNadeem for fighting till end and making all of us feel proud of you. You may have not won medal but You won our hearts. Your presence and fight at such a big event means a lot for all of us. Congratulations for 5th position. *Congratulations to Indian Chopra.
— Abdul Ghaffar (Replay, Dawn News) (@GhaffarDawnNews) August 7, 2021
Every single Pakistani should be proud of #ArshadNadeem. He has given us hope of a medal, given us joy, put us on the world map for athletics. He has done so without support, without facilities his competitors had. Arshad Nadeem is a true Pakistani hero,
We feel nothing but pride for the distance he has travelled and the journey he has made.
Appreciating Work
While Nadeem Arshad may not have won a medal, he has certainly won the hearts of millions with what he has done. Pakistan is not short of any talent when it comes to anything. In respect of his journey, let us listen to a relatable soundtrack from the film ‘Rush’; ‘Lost But Won’.
You tried your best @ArshadJavelin !! Welldone. A true champion is a true champion. They go fight and win or lose, give it their all. You have already made the entire nation proud of you. Better luck next time! #ArshadNadeem#PakistanZindabad
Actress Ghana Ali does not shy away from critics and trolls. She does not give in to what she feels strongly about just because an internet troll gave her a hard time. In fact, if she is not schooling the troll, she makes sure that her response trolls them right back.
Always impressed by her way of dealing with these cowards who get their courage from the safety of computer screens, we have compiled the times she best dealt with them.
Ghana Ali right after her wedding
The trolling increased when she announced her marriage. She got bullied when a rumor surfaced that her husband was already married and that she was his second wife. But she mostly ignores it when the bullying and the trolling are directed towards her. She chose not to take that route when the target shifted to her husband.
She had posted a picture where she was posing. This was after her wedding.
A troll who thought he was funny, commented on that picture. He asked whether the husband was expecting or not. Not only was he insulting the idea of pregnancy by making it out to be a joke but also body-shaming the husband.
Ghana responded: No honey your brain probably is.
Burn!
Another body shamer
Another troll chose the same picture to ask a not-so-innocent question. He asked whether you can even find clothes for his size. Her response was iconic. She said that she does but if she is unable to she can always get it made on order. Of course, if the troll was a tailor, her problem would be solved.
She posted some pictures recently. Both the couple looked really cute together.
A troll put aside all ethics and outright commented, ‘So ugly.’ This is something you should not say to anyone even if you are friends with them. But Ghana needed no one as her advocate. She responded with, “Just like your mind.”
Wit on point, ma’am.
Done with putting up with trolls
People must have commented on her husband’s black dress. Instead of replying to each one of them, she edited her own caption. In that caption, she said that if anyone has an issue with her husband’s dressing, they can totally unfollow her because she won’t take anybody’s “crap” anymore.

Now, that’s how you deal with trolls. You go, girl!

During this global pandemic, most people are trying to save money from their salary. In these uncertain times, where many people are getting reduced pay or layoffs, savings must be a priority. Students and employees should try to earn money and maximize their savings as much as they can.
You should start your savings step by step. Recording your income and expenses can help decrease one’s costs a whole lot.
Here are five ways you can save money from your salary:
1. Start by managing your budget
source: asaransom.com
As I stated earlier, you should start saving money from your salary by writing down your income and expenses. It will help you manage your budget and will help eliminate your unnecessary costs as well. You can also download and print the budget template. Budget templates prove to be extremely useful in savings.
2. Make and stick to a shopping list
Nothing empties your pocket like a trip down a shopping mall or departmental store. The best way to avoid this situation is by making a shopping list. Before your shopping trip, put down your needs on a piece of paper such as grocery, dairy, and household items.
Sticking to your shopping list is even more important than making one. That is why you must add a couple of your wants on the list too. It will help you refrain from abandoning your list.
3. Set up an emergency fund
If you set up some part of your salary every month for an emergency fund, it will protect you in times of financial distress. For instance: someone who had already been saving money for some months now at least will be better off than someone who had not.
Therefore, you must prepare yourself for any sort of financial crisis that you may have in the future. You can set up your emergency fund by putting a specific amount of money from your salary in a separate bank account. You must also make sure to do this as soon as you get your salary!
4. Explore different money-saving methods
After you make ways 1 to 3 your habits, you should start exploring different methods to save your money. There is an acclaimed Japanese money-saving method called Kakeibo. Kakeibo was introduced in 1904 by a Japanese woman. It is practiced all over the world to date. There is another method used for saving money called 50-20-30.
This method lets you save money by managing your needs, wants, and savings. It was made famous by Senator Elizabeth Warren. This budget rule calls for a 50% allocation of your money for your needs. From the rest half of the capital, you should save 20% away and spend 30% on your wants.
5. Reduce utility bills
A great way to save your money is through the reduction of your utility bills. Often, people spend more money on their electricity and other bills than they should be. You can save up a lot of money by unplugging and switching off electrical appliances that are not in use.
What do you think about these ways of saving money? Let us know in the comments below.

Pakistan – Friday, August 06, 2021: realme, a global emerging consumer technology company, today announced a milestone of 100 million smartphones sold globally. On the back of strong performance during the 2020 and 2021 economic challenges posed by COVID-19, realme became the fastest global smartphone brand to reach this milestone in three years, according to Strategy Analytics, a market research consultancy. realme is also the fastest growing major smartphone brand globally in Q2 2021 with a year-over-year growth rate of 149%, as data from research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) showed.
realme is the fastest brand ever to ship 100 million units in the entire history of smartphones, according to Strategy Analytics
This achievement has further validated realme’s sales and business strategies across the globe. Established only in 2018, realme is now the 7th largest smartphone brand with a presence in 61 different markets worldwide and ranks at Top 05 smartphone makers in 13 markets, claiming the first place in Philippines and Bangladesh, fourth in India and Russia and fifth in the Europe region in Q2 2021. This 100-million milestone is the latest in line of realme’s spectacular global rise, as the company adds another ‘first’ to its name.
Previously, realme was one of the ‘first’ to introduce the 125W UltraDart Charging Technology, and among the ‘first’ equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor. Its phones were one of the ‘first’ in the world with a 64-megapixel camera. What’s more, realme was also the ‘first’ company to launch a 5G phone under USD 200.
Targeting global youth and young professionals as a consumer group has allowed realme to leapfrog many established brands, as this group has been over-promised but underserved, according to realme’s CEO, Sky Li. “Young people, both our consumers and our staff, have taught us to dare to leap into the future and be trendsetters, giving us the courage to disrupt a well-entrenched industry.”
“The past three years have really been about an entrepreneurial spirit and untamed growth for realme”, said Li. “Thanks to the huge support from our young users, we have been able to reach our goal of shipping 100 million smartphones and have gained significant ground in the smartphone market. We will continue to provide young consumers around the world with products that have premium performance and trend-setting designs at affordable prices.”
Li also said realme’s next goal is to achieve a dual-100 million target – shipping another 100 million handsets by the end of 2022 and completing the same milestone within the 2023 calendar year.
To achieve this, realme is counting on a comprehensive product development strategy that will see it expand its offerings in two ways. With the recent launch of its flagship GT Series devices, dubbed as ‘flagship-killer’ phone, realme is poised to compete at mid-to-high-end segments in mature markets such as Western Europe and China.
The company is also evolving its vision of building out a full-fledged AIoT (Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things) ecosystem for global users within the next five years. To this end, realme has unveiled its 1+5+T strategy, where 1 is the mobile phone, 5 stands for True Wireless Stereo earphones, wearables, TVs, tablets, laptops, and T stands for realme’s AIoT brand TechLife. realme believes in its ability to lead users to a technologically enhanced lifestyle in a way that is affordable and sustainable at the same time.
With an audacious vision and courage to take on the world, realme is poised to break down barriers in a competitive environment.

Mahira Khan appeared on the television screen in Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay last Sunday after a long hiatus from the television screen. In today’s news, Mahira’s fans will be delighted once again as the actress will grace our screens with her performance in a short film.
Prince Charming A Short Film
Prince charming is directed by Sheheryar Munawar and stars two Pakistani icons, Mahira Khan and Zahid Ahmed. The short film is going to be released today under the banner of See Prime. “Prince Charming” is Munawar’s directorial debut as a narrative/short film.
As soon as the trailer was released, a lot of speculation started pouring in. However, before we jump on to that, take a look at the trailer.
Soon after the trailer was released, people started speculating that the elements of the short film resemble a Hollywood movie, In The Mood For Love. Meanwhile, some mentioned that a mere 15-second trailer is not enough to justify the accusation of plagiarism.
Moreso, some moved on to defend that even if the inspiration was taken from the movie, there is no harm since Bollywood always comes up with its renditions of the hit Hollywood movies. There was a range of mixed reviews given by the netizens.
While the constructive criticism was seen, some mentioned that everything must be appreciated given that it’s coming from our industry doesn’t matter if inspired or replicated.
Mahira is mainly in the spotlight for being the icon she is. Her portrayal of every character she has played so far has been spot on, and her acting skills are flawless. However, this is the first time that she is acting alongside Zahid Ahmed. Regardless, we have to see the film to judge the situation ultimately. Till then, we will take a step back and let you be the judge.

Every four years, the eager world of sports awaits the Olympics. Since its inception, the Olympics has been the stage where athletes from all over the world gather to showcase their strengths globally and compete for the highly sought after Olympic medal.
Whether it be the Football World Cup, Cricket World Cup, or Tennis Grand Slams, glory and the opportunity to engrave their name in history is all any athlete looks forward to.
There are names that one cannot forget, but they are not all of them. Over the years Pakistan has also had its fair share of Olympic triumphs. They might not be enough to see Pakistan as a threat, seeing as we qualify for a limited number of events, nevertheless, they are enough to make some names stand out and become a permanent part of Pakistani sporting history.
Pakistan first made their appearance at the London Olympics in 1948 and since then has been a part of every Summer Olympics, with the exception of the 1980 Olympics, which it boycotted along with 64 other countries.
Having won just 8 medals in Olympics over the years, it seems like our medal tally will not be changing anytime soon with Pakistan’s national hockey team failing to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics and just a handful of athletes representing the country at the event this year.
However, this has not always been the case. Hockey has been our go-to game, not only as our national sport but also one we always looked forward to at the Olympics.
With the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics just a few hours away, we now take a look at some of our Olympic alumni who made Pakistan proud at the world stage over the years.
1. Munir Dar
The 1960 Rome Olympics will be known as the most successful Olympics in Pakistan’s history. Not only did a contingent of 44 athletes represented Pakistan in 7 different sporting events, Pakistan also went on to win its first Olympic Games gold medal by defeating India in the final of the men’s hockey competition.
Munir Dar, known as one of the finest Pakistan ever produced was not only part of the team that won the gold in Rome, but was also a part of the silver Pakistan Olympic team won after losing to India in the final of 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
Coming from a long line of hockey players Munir Dar made his first appearance in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics where he won a silver medal.
He also served as the President of the Pakistan Karate Federation and as an executive committee member of Pakistan Rugby Union after his hockey career.
2. Syed Hussain Shah
One might remember this forgotten boxing legend as the man who won the country’s first Olympic gold in boxing, and a bronze at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea.
Coming from Lyari, now known as the hub of our football talent, Shah made waves after making a name for himself at the 1984 South Asian Games followed by 1985, 1987, 1989 and the 1991 South Asian Games. His consecutive gold-medal-winning performances paved the way for him to represent Pakistan at the 1988 Olympics.
Making history, Shah will forever be known as the man for making history for Pakistan when he won the bronze when Pakistan was faced with the prospect of returning empty-handed after competing in six sports events.
3. Anwar Ahmed Khan
When it comes to the Olympics, hockey players are the athletes behind our Olympic glory.
Anwar Ahmed was very much a part of the team that won the Gold at the Rome Olympics as well the silver-winning team at the Melbourne and Tokyo Olympics.
Adding to the list of his Olympic accolades, Anwar Ahmed was also responsible for the team that won the silver at 1975 World Cup, gold in 1974 Asian Games, and silver at the 1986 Asian Games. He served as Assistant Manager and member selection committee for the Pakistan Hockey Federation to the junior team which won bronze at the 1982 World Cup
4. Saeed Anwar
Pakistan hockey team for the 1968 Mexico Olympics: Standing (L-R): Laeeq Ahmed, Anwar Shah, Gulraiz Akhtar, Riazuddin, Farooq Khan, Jahangir Butt and Ghazi Salahuddin. Middle row (L-R) Saeed Anwar, Khalid Mahmood, Tariq Aziz (Captain), Brig S. M. H. Atif, Asad Malik, Tariq Niazi and Fazal-ur-Rehman. First row (L-R): Ashfaq Ahmed, Abdul Rasheed Jr, Tanveer Dar and Riazuddin.
When one talks about hockey, the name Saeed Anwar is no stranger to them.
Known as the “Ustaad”, for his innovations in the sport and his many tricks, the right-half was part of the team that had the honor of being the member of 1968 Mexico Olympic winning the second gold for Pakistan.
Not only that, he was also a part of 1964 Tokyo and 1972 Munich Olympics squad that won the silver.
5. Muhammad Bashir
Wrestling only comes second to hockey in sports in Pakistan.
Muhammad Bashir, to date, remains the only wrestler in Pakistan’s history to have won an Olympics medal.
Competing in the 1960 Olympics, he won the bronze medal and contributed to Pakistan’s best ever Olympics performance.
Being one of Pakistan’s most celebrated wrestlers, Bashir continued to make a name for himself, with gold medals in the Commonwealth Games as well as the Asian Games where he won a gold at the 1966 games in Bangkok, two silver medals in 1962 at Jakarta and a bronze at the 1958 games in Tokyo.
6. Motiullah Khan
Another member of Pakistan’s most successful hockey team comes in the list of winning the most medals for Pakistan at the Olympics.
Competing in the 1960 Olympics, Motiullah won gold at Rome while also successfully securing silver at the 1956 and 1964 Summer Olympics in Melbourne and Tokyo respectfully.
He also has an International Hockey Stadium in Bahawalpur (Motiullah Hockey Stadium) named after him.
7. Abdul Khaliq
Known as the “Flying Bird of Asia”, Abdul Khaliq might not have an Olympic medal to his name, yet is one of the most successful athletes Pakistan has ever produced.
At the 1956 Olympics, Abdul Khaliq finished in the semi-finals of both the 100m and 200m races while finishing at an astounding 21.1 sec in the 200m race and finishing 4th in the semifinal heat.
He also competed in the 1960 Olympics while having accumulated 6 International Gold Medals, 15 International Silver Medals & 12 International Bronze Medals for Pakistan.
With most of our Olympic glory being credited to our hockey team players, it is no surprise that this year’s event might once again be highly disappointing for the Pakistani contingent.
What remains to be seen, is whether the new age athletes representing Pakistan can make a name for themselves and the country at this year’s tournament.
Google has certainly established itself well when it comes to smartphones. It not only houses the best search engine out there, but it also makes great smartphones. Even if you are a fan of pixel phones or not, you must be impressed with the latest release. They seem quite impressive but we have to see if one triumph over the other or not. Today, we look at a comparison between the two variants of the Pixel 6: the standard and the 6 Pro.
Please note that not every specification of the phone is confirmed yet.
The Pixel Comparison
There are quite a few things to note in both of these smartphones. The Google Pixel 6 is said to be the most powerful smartphone to be released by Google. However, the two variants in the phone are said to be more different than the other. Since Google has said that the standard version is going to be at a premium price, we can expect the pro to be higher.
Display
Firstly, the display on the Pixel 6 is set at 6.4 inches whereas the 6 Pro measures 6.7 inches. You can definitely tell the difference between the two, one is slightly bigger than the other. The chipset in both of them is going to be the new Google Tensor chip. It is said to house capabilities beyond what smartphones are currently doing. This is sure to have some development in the camera sector of the phones.
Camera Details
When we talk about the camera on both phones, there is a difference. On the Pixel 6, we have a duo camera array, with the main one at 50MP with a 12MP ultra-wide. On the other one, however, we have a triple camera array. The additional is a 48MP telephoto lens, which is sure to enhance the photography experience.
If we talk about the internal specs, the standard version is going to have 8GB ram and options of 128/256 GB storage. On the other hand, the Pro variant will have 12GB ram and storage variants of 128/256/512 GB. Additionally, the battery on the standard will have a 4614mah capacity whereas the pro will have 5000mah capacity.
Verdict On The Pixel
While the standard version itself is highly impressive, many people would want to go for the pro too. The writer of this article believes that if you want to go that extra mile, you should. It can be an enhanced experience to use the 6 Pro. However, if your budget extends to the standard version, you should definitely get it.
Price details
There is a lot that we don’t know about the phone right now but here is all the information that is currently revolving around the internet. While the price of the Pixel 6 has not been revealed yet, sources say it could be about $800. This would mean that the Pixel 6 Pro is going to be at least $1000. Now that could be a first for Google, making a phone that costs over $1000.
Karachi: 04 August, 2021 – The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey Tolga Ucak met with Dawlance CEO Umar Ahsan Khan today. The two discussed matters of mutual interest including new investments being made by Dawlance, the effective COVID-19 response by the company and sustainable initiatives under ‘Dawlance for Humanity’. They also had a friendly, in-depth exchange of views on how the company can promote further innovation in the local home appliances market.
Dawlance is making a significant investment to increase its production capacity and R&D capabilities. The home appliance manufacturer recently established its Automatic washing machine plant, added another refrigerator plant and a water dispenser production line leading to the first order of export to Europe and CE Certification of water dispensers.
The Consul General also commended the CEO for Dawlance’s initiatives to safeguard the health and safety of its employees during the pandemic. The company carried out extensive COVID-19 PCR screening of its employees, underwent infrastructural changes at its head office, branches, service centres and factories to comply with government SOPs, and has set up vaccination camps to inoculate its employees.
Dawlance’s team also briefed the Consul General about the company’s ‘Dawlance for Humanity’ programme. Under this programme, Dawlance has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Wildlife Fund to actively begin work towards achieving its annual sustainability objectives. The first initiative under this MoU was the plantation of 5,000 mangrove saplings along the coastline of Baluchistan’s Sonmiani Beach.
“I’m grateful for the time provided by the honourable consul general. This meeting comes at a time when Dawlance is looking to expand its investment in Pakistan creating more job opportunities and innovating the local home appliances market. Consul general’s visit reaffirms Arcelik/Turkey’s commitment to Pakistan, as we continue to work together in creating socioeconomic opportunities to empower communities,” said Umar Ahsan Khan.
As the leading brand in Pakistan’s home appliances market, Dawlance has established three manufacturing units in Pakistan, with over 4000 employees, producing more than 10 million products, till date, including the latest, energy-efficient refrigerators, microwave ovens, washing-machines, air conditioners and water dispensers, etc. Dawlance has the largest sales/service network and promises the longest warranties, while its resourceful and generous Corporate Social-Responsibility initiatives are elevating the quality of life for the masses.
Imagine a brand not conducting a campaign culturally relevant to the audience. The audience will not feel connected and will eventually drift away. While campaigns for Black Friday may not be as relevant to Pakistan, but campaigns for Ramadan, Eids, and Independence Day are something the entire nation looks forward to.
Today, we have compiled a list of all brands that are celebrating Pakistan’s 74th Independence Day with thoughtful campaigns. We will keep updating the list as more brands join the race.
1. Kamran Steel
An ad that is bound to give you goosebumps was released by Kamran Steels. As the category of the brand suggests, the ad had to have the ‘strength’ factor in it and they show it beautifully. They show it in a way that every statement is relevant and relatable. Imagine a Pakistani saying they will be celebrating 15th August. Would they not be faced with extremists? But this ad shows that the strength of patriotism is not limited to 14th August, because every day is 14th August.
Bonanza is conducting the Independence Day campaign in its own style. The brand has, in its stores, employees wearing green and white. You can see their entire staff in Pakistani flag colors. It feels so refreshing when you walk into a store during August and find this. Just to be greeted by this team, I would get a ticket to Lahore, but it’s COVID time so I will have to make do with brands in Karachi.
In celebrating Independence Day or Azaadi, Meezan Bank has gone with the idea of ‘Call To Action’.
Azaad meaning free, Meezan Bank has shared a meaningful caption; This independence day, azaad Pakistan from waste.
They have paired it with a daunting fact; Pakistan generates about 20 million tons of solid waste a year. If we average it across the 200 million population, it will bring the stats to be almost 100 kg waste per person. As a viewer, I am horrified by these stats but for a call to action campaign, it certainly has me moving.
An Independence Day campaign which also announces sales, you can’t get more intelligent than that. Ideas By Gul Ahmed does it.
In their campaign, they show the different ways azaadi can be defined. For each Pakistani, azaadi looks different. For a bike rider, it is their speed; in the case of an athlete, it is their game; for a writer, it is their words; in short, everyone is azaad, and this azaadi is given by none other than our country, an azaad Pakistan.
There must be more independence day campaigns on way. As 14th August nears, brands will soon be releasing them. But don’t you worry, we will keep updating the list whenever something worthwhile comes up.

Karachi Kart, at Bahadurabad, is selling kachori that not only is available for ‘take away’ but they also deliver. The special kachori is served with its usual assortments in the following two ways: They either prepare 4 pieces platter which costs PKR 60, or they sell a dozen kachoris for PKR 120. Clearly, they want you to go for the second option.

Danish Taimoor schooled a contestant in his game show when she commented about dark skin tone to her fellow contestant. Danish Taimoor was quick to call her off by saying that he would not tolerate this kind of comment. And while most people are happy with what he had to say, some of them tried to call him out over his contradictory actions.
While his gesture of calling the contestant out over her remarks was a quick-witted one that made people appreciate him more, however, two claims are being made to his statement. One of those who support Danish over his remarks and the other group seems a little triggered since his wife has been promoting whitening creams for quite some time now.
However, at the same time, some people claim how they were the first ones in the industry to get whitening injections done, and this kind of statement by someone who seems to be promoting something and preaching otherwise is somewhat conflicting.
While trying to defend his action, some mentioned that Ayeza supporting the brands and Danish’s actions are opposite ones. They do not have to align with one another. Meanwhile, some people said how they discuss their projects beforehand, and both of them have to agree with that specific project before going on board. So, Danish is fully aware and in agreement with Ayeza’s decision to promote whitening products. The internet sure remembers to keep the receipts.
While the majority appreciates Danish’s actions, it seems refreshing to see that people are being called out for derogatory comments.
