Ababeel Squad Introduced In Lahore After Dolphin Squad

Did you hear about the Police skating force in Karachi? As the name indicates, the police force has some of its people trained to move, run and fight while wearing skates. This was in line with the fact that you will find a lot of traffic jams on the roads of Karachi or that sometimes the streets are very narrow. In such a situation, the skater force can take over. This was a creative initiative. Another initiative has been taken in Lahore, launching Ababeel Squad.

On 27th February 2021, Lahore witness the launch of the Ababeel squad, which comprises 40 armed officers on 20 motorcycles. This squad has appeared after the Dolphin squad. The aim obviously is to make the city safer. The launching ceremony of Ababeel happened at the District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh.

CCPO Lahore cut the ribbon at the inauguration ceremony and rode the Ababeel motorcycle. Some other lead figures present at the ceremony were DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal, SSP CIA, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, SP Mobile Squad, SP Security, SP Headquarters, all divisional SSPs, and of course the Ababeel Squad members, among other people.

Addressing the ceremony, CCPO said that the squad was extracted from the police force itself and not from outside. Existing police officers were given special training to patrol the Lahore streets in the city’s highlight places. SP Mujahid Squad will head the squad.

Other than the Ababeel Squad, Lahore also has Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Punjab Safe Cities Authority. It is said that the three forces together have not yielded much result, but the addition of Ababeel may make the expected difference.

And if, as CCPO has stated, the whole squad will reach the crime location in a group of 20 motorbikes, it actually seems possible. I mean, just imagine how protected the victims would feel when 20 bikes and 40 policemen approach. Moreover, they will keep patrolling the streets so they can reach the location they are required to on time.

New Leaks Reveal Apple’s Pencil New Design & Alleged Features

This year has been no short of leaks in the technological world. With the flagships smartphone, tablets and other major gadgets being a few months away. We come across alleged leaks every once in a while, and this time it is Apple who is the center of attention.

Apple’s New Pencil’s Alleged Design Leaked

A few days ago, a user by the name of Mr. White shared an image on his Twitter where he claims that he has the design of the new third-generation Apple’s Pencil. While the new pencil has not been revealed but speculation leads that this might be the new design.

The alleged new design is shorter than the previous model of the Apple’s Pencil and is identical to the second generation of Apple Pencil which is capable of sticking and charging along the sides of the iPad.

Changes can also be seen in the tip of the pencil. While the older nibs or tips of the pencils were a bit smaller, the new leaks reveal that they have significantly increased in size and are larger than the older nibs or tips. Even though Apple is yet to reveal any of the details about the third generation of Apple Pencil, experts say it may have a longer life than older generations and are likely to be more durable before it is needed to be replaced.

Last year, there were reports of Apple filing a patent that would allow people to sample colors in real life via a sensor on their Apple Pencils but whether or not it will be incorporated into the new nib/tip is a feature that will have to wait for Apple’s announcement before we could make any judgments about its functionality.

If these rumors turn out to be true and this new sensor and feature are incorporated into the new device, it will allow artists, designers and animators to create real-life like imagery and animations.

What Is The Credibility Of All These Rumors?

“Mr. White” has previously leaked designs of iPad Mini 5, iPhone 12 Mini’s display, A14 Chip components and back-glass of the graphite iPhone 12 Pro. Though only time will tell if his new leak turns out to be true, we will be awaiting the next Apple Event to find out if these rumors and new designs of the third generation Apple Pencil turn out to be true.

[Update]: Minal Khan and Ahsan Mohsin Ikram had posted pictures on valentine’s day that hinted the two got engaged. Minal had a ring on her engagement finger and neither of them gave any clarification when the speculation of them getting engaged went all over the internet.

Now, once again Minal has hinted at something and it is very unclear. Her pose in the video is one that flaunts her engagement ring as she gets ready in what is clearly a salon. And the caption is even stranger, ‘Preparing for something big.”

Could she be saying that she is getting ready for an official engagement party?

WhatsApp Announces An Amazing Update For Latest iOS 13 & Above

[Update]: iPhone users have something to be happy for. Well, to be specific, iPhone users who have WhatsApp on their phones. So if you have moved away from WhatsApp and shifted to Telegram, you don’t have to read further. Anyway, the update requires you to have iOS 13 and above software to utilize the WhatsApp update.

When you listen to voice notes, and it reaches the end, most of the time, what happens is that you are not really able to catch the entire message. Then you have to hit play again manually. When you make the update, the voice message will replay itself right after it ends the first time.

Moreover, as you may remember, even if you have read receipts off on WhatsApp when you listen to voice notes, the sender gets to see the blue mic and see that you have heard it. Not anymore, though. Through this update, you get to disable read receipts for them as well.

KitKat May Have A Surprise For Its Vegan Consumers

KitKat is that famous chocolate brand that is not just popular but has nostalgia attached to it as well. They also noted that the new version will still have its “perfect balance between the crispy wafer and smooth chocolate.”

How is the KitKat V unique?

The vegan chocolate bar abandons dairy milk and opts for an alternative raw material that is made from rice. It also uses sustainable new cocoa. This bar will go into circulation in late 2021 and will first go to only a few countries. After that, it will go global.

Louise Barrett, head of the Nestlé Confectionery Product Technology Center, said: “Taste was a key factor when developing the plant-based chocolate for our new vegan KitKat. We used our expertise in ingredients, together with a test and learn approach, to create a delicious vegan alternative to our original chocolate KitKat.”

This vegan bar is extending into the vegan trend that has been going for some time. In 2019, another chocolate brand, Mars, started a vegan bar of chocolate for the people who intended to reduce their intake of meat and dairy products. Lindt and Cadbury have also joined the race.

An elderly man in Umerkot has built his own little Taj Mahal. This Sindh native, Abdul Rasool Pali was inspired by the Mughal structure and monument and he was inspired to build it for his wife. Pali is a landlord turned lawyer who replicated this monument within his home as a labour of love.

It’s also interesting to note that Umerkot in Sindh was previously known as Amarkot and was the birthplace of Mughal Emporer Akbar! It seems that fate has played out in such a way that the most prominent link of the Mughal dynasty has returned to the birthplace of one of the emperors himself.

Tech Wearables Influenced By Latest Fashions

Consumers that put a premium on personal style rather than simply caring about the latest gadgets are the most likely to invest in a smartwatch or fitness tracker over the coming months.

According to a new International Data Corporation (IDC) study of 1500 US consumers intending to buy a wearable in the next six months, 81% said that they were conscious of how they present themselves. What’s more, 77% also said that how they dress is of utmost importance and 63% saying that accessories and jewelry also transmit a message to others about what sort of a person they are.

The findings support the view that although interest in and ownership of wearables is growing, something that is worn rather than carried needs to be more personal or more desirable if it is to appeal to people other than the tech obsessed or those committed to leading healthier lifestyles.

“Intenders are enthusiastic about wearables but have hesitated to actually purchase a device. This implies that companies have not yet cracked the code to deliver something that is both functional and fashionable,” said Allan Fromen, Vice President and Consulting Partner for IDC’s Global Buyer Behavior Practice.

With its Hermès edition smartwatch, Apple is already starting to address this need for technology to reflect taste. When asked, 52% of respondents named Apple as their favorite smartwatch brand.

Fitbit came top for fitness trackers (36%) and, like Apple, it is starting to focus on fashion with its new Alta range of wearables that feature colored and textured bands and will soon also boast a range of New York fashion label Public School-designed accessories.

However, just as important is the Alta’s ability to display smartphone notifications.

Over three-quarters of those polled said they check their smartphone first thing in the morning, 87% have a Facebook profile and 29% said they access the network on an hourly basis, so much so that 54% agreed with the statement “When I don’t check social media, I wonder what I am missing.”

“We are still in the early stages of the wearables market,” said Ramon Llamas, Research Manager with IDC’s Wearables team. “Intenders are gravitating towards tech companies for wearables because tech companies have helped pioneer and move the market forward. What will be interesting to observe is how tech companies partner with non-tech companies to develop new applications.”

Soundcloud’s User-Centric Royalty Payment Model

Now, Soundcloud aims to address the concerns of the artists and has offered user-centric royalties. From April 1st, artists will be paid royalties from the users who stream them; aiming to tackle the disparity in the revenues between well-established and upcoming artists.

This new model will be applied to the 100,000 independent artists while the singers and musicians signed to major record label will continue to get paid from the traditional payment model.

Soundcloud has referred to this new payment model as “fan-powered royalties” or the “user-centric model” which gives fans and listeners the power to get their favorite artists get paid. Even though only time will tell if this model would be able to address concerns of the struggling/upcoming artists and whether this monetization model is sustainable for them.

The research revealed that 10 percent of the revenue from Spotify and Deezer directly goes to around 10 artists who are signed to major record labels. This allows the record labels to make revenue from a limited number of artists, helping them to be lucrative by applying lesser effort onto pushing new talent into the mainstream.

Soundcloud is credited as the platform which enabled many artists like Migos, XXXtentacion, 21 Savage and Chance the Rapper in getting their way into the mainstream. This move may revolutionize the way the music industry works however only time will tell how the industry and artists benefit from these changes.

How To Transfer All of Your Data From Android to iPhone

Having trouble shifting from your Android to iPhone? No worries, there is an easier way to help you transfer all of your data from contacts to pictures, and even all your media files from your old set to your new one.

*Note: The Move to iOS app supports phones and tablets running Android 4.0 or later and can transfer data to devices running iOS 9 or higher.

Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1- Save Your Info

Before you delete everything from your old phone, make a backup to save all of your data so that you can restore it once your new phone has been setup.

Step 2- Download ‘Move to iOS’

Download ‘Move to iOS’ on your Android set from Google Play Store.The application helps you transfer all of your data with ease. Do not start the application just yet.

Step 3- Setup the iPhone

If you have not already done this, setup the iPhone by selecting your region, country, time zone, connect to a Wi-Fi Network, etc. You will eventually come across the menu reading ‘Apps & Data’ there will be an option below reading ‘Move Data from Android’. When you select the option, a 10-digit code will appear on your screen.

However, if you have already setup your iPhone and have already passed this option, you will be required to erase the device and go through the setup process once again. This can be done on your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings, clicking on General, followed by Reset, and choosing the “Erase all content and settings” option.

Step 4- Transfer the Data

Now that you have received the code from your iPhone, access the ‘Move to iOS application’, when you continue, you will be asked to enter the 10-digit code you received on your iPhone. Enter the code and continue.

You will have the option to pick and choose what you would like to transfer to your new device: Options are your Google account, Chrome bookmarks, text messages, contacts, and photos and videos. Select the items you would like to transfer and click Next. The data will start to transfer everything to your new iOS device automatically.

Step 5- Take the SIM/SD Card Out

SIM Card

After the data has been transferred, turn off the device and remove the SD/SIM card out so that you can place it inside your new phone if you have not already done this. Keep in mind that your iPhone does not have an SD card slot, so this is optional if you want to keep it in your old phone or not.

You can also delete everything from your old phone if you want to discard of it, however, it is advisable to do this at the end then all of your data has been transferred to your new iPhone.

The toothbrush-style mustache has always been associated with Charlie Chaplin but is popularly associated with Adolph Hitler too. After people spotted the resemblance between the new icon and the controversial figure, an Amazon spokesperson commented on the fiasco. They were quoted as saying;

“Amazon is always exploring new ways to delight our customers. We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep.”

Twitter Reacts To Amazon Tweaking Its Icon

The redesign of the icon rolled out yesterday which now bears less resemblance, however, there was no official announcement or press release on this new update.

Back in January, when Amazon introduced the new redesign of their icon, it sparked a lot of reactions from the public, which shows how the resemblance was not uncommon and multiple people were reminded of the similarities between the icon and one of the most controversial figures of the 20th century.

Many people also expressed how the new icon reminds them of the popular TV show, Avatar.

Many spotted how the blue tape on the top was identical to Avatar’s Aang’s blue arrow that used to appear on his skull.

Despite many of these reactions being of criticizing nature, many people also praised Amazon for their new icon’s design because of how much it was in-line with their core product.

Previously, Amazon’s icon used to be that of a shopping cart. However, it was changed to the new design which resembled that of their parcels. But since many people and news outlets identified the resemblance between the icon and Hitler, a new design of the icon was quietly introduced yesterday which now bears lesser resemblance to the controversial figure.

The second dose has to be administered sometime later but at minimum, there should be a gap of two weeks. It has been observed by the researchers that obese individuals are reporting only half of the production of antibodies after the second dose is given as compared to others. Of course, this could be because of some underlying diseases. For now, the update is that the vaccine is less effective in people with obesity.

Every country began sending teams of scientists to hot zones and start researching. Now, it is being reported that the first vaccine has been released and is being administered.
