Burger King has released an extraordinary, limited-edition dessert like no other. The sad news is that it is only in Singapore for now. What is it, you may be asking? It’s their regular and special ice-cream sundae full of their delicious, salted fries. And, yes, the fries are served hot in the icecream.
Where Did The Idea Come From?
The mega fast-food chain launched their fries sundae called “Mashed Up Fries” after noticing something for a while. Their people noticed that guests ordered fries and sundae separately and then dipped their fries into the dessert. They are said to have the latest in GPS technology as well as fitness tracking. When one buys a Smartwatch, they do expect the watch to have these features. The current price of the Amazefit smartwatches is set to be at about $120. Upon conversion, that is approximately Rs. 20,000/-. That is significantly lower than the Fitbit sense, whose variants start at $300 and go higher.

KARACHI: The LUX Style Awards office announced the winners for the 19th LUX Style Awards in Karachi today. This is the first time in the nineteen year history of the LSA’s that the entire judging and awarding process has been conducted online. KARACHI: In light of the on-going global pandemic, the Annual LUX Style Awards; the renowned and prestigious awards in the country recognising artists in diverse genres, has decided to go virtual, giving people, who’re in dire need of entertainment, a reason to celebrate the achievements of their favourite stars.
Asima Haq, Director Beauty & Personal Care at Unilever Pakistan said, “This year, the LUX Style Awards will celebrate the achievements of our winners virtually and we’re delighted to be able to honour talent in a befitting manner while following all the protocols of the New Normal. LSA 2020 promises to be a night to remember.”
From the planning to the portfolio collection process to jury sessions, everything was held virtually all throughout this year. Portfolios were gathered for 28 categories across fashion, film, music and television. Separate juries convened at multiple times during the year, evaluated each portfolio and picked a final winner, overseen by auditors, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). As always, two lifetime achievement awards, the Unilever Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award and a Lifetime Achievement in Fashion will also be awarded.
To follow, the luxstyle.pk portal will allow nominees, influencers, bloggers and journalists to experience LSA from the comfort of their homes via the best experience possible. Our viewers will also get to see their favorite stars dressed to the nines and enjoy the show screen.
The streaming of the virtually recorded show is slated to drop by the end of the year. Frieha Altaf, director for the 19th LUX Style Awards, shared her views on the experience. “I’m happy and excited that Unilever Pakistan and the LUX brand team is making an all out effort to appreciate and celebrate the artists who have worked the entire of last year and showcased immense talent. British automotive company Morris Garages announced plans to launch two more cars in the Pakistani Market in the first quarter of 2021.

This new entrant is expected to cause more competition in the market and offer the customers more options to choose from when purchasing an automobile.
MG Extender And SUV RX8 Will Be The Two Cars That Will He Released Next Year
Javed Afridi is among the few critical stakeholders of the joint venture between Pakistani company JW-SEZ and Chinese Giant SAIC, which also owns the British MG Motors.
Javed Afridi is also the CEO of Haier Pakistan, another Multinational Chinese electronics company that has made a significant presence in the Pakistani market.
He expressed that one of the reasons why he became a stakeholder in this venture was because the British made cars have a positive reputation in the global market, which would also be beneficial for the Pakistani market as a new entrant and a foreign company would have its official local presence in the country.
Javed also mentioned that the technology that will come with those cars would transform the local market, which will also benefit the customers.
Javed Afridi, who also owns Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, shared the news about the launch of a double-cabin pick-up truck named MG Extender in March, followed by another SUV called the RX8 in July of the year 2021. He also shared the company’s plans to launch sedans and hatchbacks.
He expressed how the company has managed to be successful after launching multiple commercial vehicles in Pakistan and how the launch of these new automobiles will strengthen its position in the future even further.
MG Motors is one of few well-reputed automobile companies recently launched in Pakistan after the government announced the Auto Development Policy 2016-2021. Many analysts say that this policy is one reason why many automotive companies have decided to commence their business operations in Pakistan.
In the past few years, companies like KIA, Changan, Proton have launched their operations in Pakistan, which has forced vital industry players to innovate and launch new models as companies have multiple choices and price ranges to choose from.
MG Motor’s presence in the market is a piece of good news as this will also force others to innovate, benefiting the Pakistani Automobile Industry & our economy even more.

It brought a smile to my face as I watched the cute story of a husband and wife. And it showed me how a generation older might be viewing that love. But it explored a very important issue as well and that was including people with disabilities in the narrative because often they get excluded and are hidden away.

In their new advertisement campaign, ‘#YouCantStopUs’, the brand weaves a narrative for athletes overcoming the obstacles they faced. They made epic use of their signature split-screen montage. In this narrative named ‘Victory Swim,’ the story is about Middle-Eastern women leaving the shores to swim into freedom. The ad is crafted by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, where they pay tribute to numerous water sports ranging from surfing to swimming, from scuba diving to rowing, etc. The ad features footwear, apparel, and accessories, among other things.
5. BMW
This ad proves that functional positioning does not have to be dry. BMW showed through their ad that their vehicle is suitable even for pets that most people have to leave behind when they travel. And for someone who has a pet, this ad will click on you because don’t you always worry if your dear pet is being mistreated or not?

In 2018, Meesha Shafi, wreaked havoc on social media with allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar. However, Ali Zafar, pleaded and asked his fans to wait for the court proceedings and evidence. 2 years later, Shafi was declared guilty of online harassment along with many others.
After the declaration, Ali Zafar took to his official Facebook page to thank his fans for all the constant love and support throughout this period.
Here’s what Ali Zafar had to say,
“Thank you all for your love and support always. We must always stand against oppression of any kind and raise our voice against slander, abuse, bullying, and character assassinations on public platforms whether it’s a man or a woman.
It is time to expose all those who were a part of this organised campaign”.
[Update]: The scandal that started in 2018 April with Meesha Shafi accusing Ali Zafar with sexual harassment has finally been put to bed. Meesha Shafi has been declared guilty of making false allegations against Ali Zafar. She involved the social media influencers as well which led to heightened defamation of Ali Zafar and so he involved FIA in that. Now that has been resolved with Meesha Shafi appearing guilty.
There was a lot of backlash on Meesha Shafi for not attending court hearings after the whole harassment fiasco and Ali Zafar’s character assassination.
Ali Zafar also got FIA to send out notices with defamation charges to individuals who spoke up against Ali.

The latest update is that, in a Lahore sessions court, Meesha Shafi has filed a Rs2 billion damages suit against Ali Zafar for making untrue allegations against her on media.
The damages suit includes Rs1bn for the loss of goodwill and reputation caused, and Rs1bn for “mental torture and agony”.
Moreover, Meesha has also asked the court to pass a decree to declare Zafar’s statements regarding her as “false, malicious and defamatory” and “made to injure the reputation of the plaintiff”.
Here is what the suit stated:
“It is prayed that the defendant (Zafar) be permanently restrained from making any further defamatory statement against the plaintiff (Shafi),”
“Moreover, it has caused mental agony and anguish to the plaintiff and for which [the] defendant is now liable to pay damages,”

2020 has been a very traumatic year, in general. With the pandemic, people got ill, but there were many other non-medical consequences as well. Many businesses shut down because of the lockdowns in place. People lost jobs as well. And the stock market shattered.
But not to be depressed because 2021 is starting to look better. It is expected that the year will begin to improve from January. By June, it will have marked significant economic recovery in Pakistan, as noted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). So basically, the forecast by ADB assumes that the COVID impact will ultimately end on the economy by December 2020.
Having been presented with this forecast, the government is planning to incorporate further economic stimulation in the financial year 2021.
And we can see that from the status of KSE here. As the trajectory indicates, the stock market took a significant dip in April when the pandemic was the peak. But ever since then, it has gradually been improving. And finally, in Mid-December it achieved its very peak.
Coming back to 2021, inflation will also ease up. It will go to 7.5%, which is lower than what was forecasted for April in ADO 2020. Moreover, the fiscal deficit will also presumably decline to 7.0% in FY 2021.
ADB Country Director for Pakistan Xiaohong Yang said:
“Pakistan has achieved notable success in containing the dual health and economic challenge presented by COVID-19. As the curve flattens and business activity resumes, the economy is showing signs of resilience and recovery. The government’s rapid mobilization on 24 August of a 1.2 trillion rupee relief package comprising emergency financial support to daily wage earners, cash transfers to low-income families, accelerated procurement of wheat, support for health and food supplies, and financial support for small and medium enterprises helped shield the poor and most vulnerable during the pandemic. ADB remains committed to supporting Pakistan through this difficult period and helping the country get back on the growth path.”
