At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020, realme announced becoming one of the first manufacturers to apply the latest Qualcomm flagship 5G mobile platform, Snapdragon 888.

The brand shall be launching its new flagship phone called “Race” powered by Snapdragon 888. The code name “Race” indicates the fast speed and high performance of the upcoming model.

In his video speech at Tech Summit 2020, realme’s CEO Sky Li said “Qualcomm has always been one of realme’s most important partners. realme has already started the development of “Race” a few months ago, realme will once again deliver a product that will exceed the expectations of users around the world.”

As the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, realme has worked closely with Qualcomm since its inception. They have brought forward dozens of high-quality powerful smartphones for its users globally from the 4G era to the 5G era. realme was one of the first manufacturers to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 765G mobile platforms in 2020. realme X50 Pro 5G with Snapdragon 865 and realme X50 5G with Snapdragon 765G both have been highly praised by the international markets.

“Race” with Snapdragon 888 will be among the first S888-based phones to reach the market. Complete features have yet not been revealed but sources report the chipset will be paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and runs Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. An image of the phone shows a quad-camera with an “Oreo” style bump but no information on the modules inside yet. There’s also talk if realme “Race” will feature Realme’s 125W UltraDART charging or if that will debut with another device. More details are yet to be revealed.

Govt To Introduce Vaccine In Affordable Prices For COVID-19 Patients

The pandemic, COVID-19, has pretty much taken over the world. You will find a few anomalies, such as Turkey or Uzbekistan. They are still allowing the tourists inside their countries, but other than that, almost all countries are either exercising complete lockdown or partial lockdown. In these times of uncertainties, deaths, and unemployment, everyone has had one common prayer; the discovery of the pandemic’s vaccine.

Thankfully, the United States announced they have finally achieved what seemed unattainable just a few months ago. While all countries have been trying to help each other out during COVID, the vaccine is probably different. Therefore, the US announced they would first fulfill their own need before they start rolling the medicine out. While they say they will begin rolling the medicine out, we all know it is not that simple. Whichever country wants it will have to pay for it.

When countries buy a vaccine, they have to sell it to their citizens. Otherwise, the government might just go into debt even further, and a country like Pakistan cannot afford that. Therefore, Pakistan will definitely not be distributing it for free but at a cost. The point, however, is to ensure that all Pakistanis, without discrimination, can access it. To discuss the prices and make the vaccine affordable, Prime Minister Imran Khan called the federal cabinet meeting.

The meeting had a 14-point plan and amongst them was the reviewed notification for the vaccine prices. According to the reports, the notification was finalized. These recommendations were put forward by the taskforce experts operating under Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Dr. Faisal Sultan.

Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development and the head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), took to Twitter on Monday that the ‘recommendations for procurement of covid vaccine’ were finalized and that they will be discussed with the Federal cabinet when the meeting is called.

Now that the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a budget of $150 million towards acquiring the budget (according to a local news publication), the government will be contacting organizations for more funding. To do bulk buying for this vaccine and then making it available to the citizen of a country who are either living on or below the poverty line, getting funding is a much-needed step. So the government will more than likely be contacting UNICEF, Asian Development Bank, and other similar organizations.

Breakups and divorces have become mainstream these days. Our dramas are increasingly portraying the concept of divorces, and they are showing a negative connotation of it. We do not say that if two people are incompatible, they should continue to be in a toxic relationship. All we are trying o say is that if people are choosing to divorce, it is not always because one partner is cheating on the other, which is what Pakistani dramas are showcasing. And the most recent one was Farhan and Urwa. Now that that news started dwindling, people began putting forward speculations regarding the marital life of Feroz Khan.

Feroz Khan married Syeda Alizey Fatima Raza two years ago, in 2018. Considering it was an inter-sect marriage, people assumed it was a love marriage. But then Feroze Khan and his family came forward to refute that rumor.

The beautiful couple went through quite a sweet period together and documented it all on their Instagram accounts. And by last year, they had a son. Occasionally they should post his pictures on their Instagram account. Meanwhile, Alizey even changed her name to Alizey Sultan to show her love for her child.

But what are Feroze-Alizey up to?

Alizey has recently deactivated her account, where she would update her fans with happenings of her marital life. And many publications are under the assumption that Feroze and Alizey have unfollowed each other. Well, first of all, if someone has deactivated their account, the argument about unfollowing becomes useless.

Although there is another point to discuss, a publication went as far as speculating that the mothers of Alizey and Feroze have unfollowed each other. Now, when issues reach your parents, I think that is the point of no return.

But here is the thing. People like weaving patterns out of such news. One such custom blamed the speculated separation on Hania Aamir (probably because of their out-of-the-charts chemistry in Ishqiya).

DSP Aneela Naz Becomes First Female Traffic Police Officer In KP

Let’s be honest; the whole world is very male-dominated except for a few communities based on a matriarchal societal system. Pakistan is one of those societies that have men dominating almost all the public sphere. And so there are professions that women do not even consider as gender-neutral professions. But there will be anomalies such as DSP Aneela Naz working towards ensuring that a false concept does not become a reality.

Aneela Naz, from a very conservative Pakistan and a still conservative village Lakki Marwat, broke all stereotypes by getting promoted to DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in Vehicle License Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. But getting to the position of DSP was, as expected, a difficult journey. Back in 1996, when she started looking for a job, she was inclined towards joining the police force. However, the society she resided in discouraged her with every ounce of their belief.

Seeing how the conservative mindset of the society might limit his kids, Aneela’s father moved from Lakki Marwat to Peshawar with his whole family. And so, in 1996, she joined the police force as assistant sub-inspector. She mentions that while they were able to distance themselves from the judgemental eyes of the neighbors, relatives were a completely different ball game. Some even shunned her family. It could be because of that that one of her family members had to ask her not to show up in a police uniform.

Struggle in the police force

Even outside the family, she had to face many struggles when it came to her gender. In the police force itself, she had to face gender discrimination and the glass ceiling effect. But since 1996, it has been 24 years, and she has learned to navigate all these phenomena. I believe in doing that; a woman has to prove herself exceptional to exist with average male individuals, and so she would top every course and has learned to use all sorts of guns. Now, she is in a position to train both male and female. She is the first female to be promoted to this position, so it clearly shows she has been successful in her struggle.

After having achieved something from her career, all the relatives who had shunned her are now becoming open to the idea of sending their daughters to the same profession they had criticized her on. She has become a source of inspiration for never backing out of her dream, getting the education she wanted, and continue the career she aspired to be in without caring about the negativities society, in general, threw her way.

Having a form of sports passion can be extremely beneficial for an individual. It doesn’t have to be a difficult, challenging sport. It just has to be one where you feel comfortable and yourself. For footballers, the field is a second home. They know all its markings and corners like their own backyard. Similarly, for a golf champion, the entire course is their home.

Even Will Smith’s ‘Legend Of Bagger Vance’ portrays the essence of passion for golf. In Pakistan, the most played game is cricket. A sport invented by the English, a majority of Pakistanis tune in to the channel when a game is live. In 2020, even the audience are all staying at home to watch. Speaking of Sports, an incident occurred at an LPL match where Shahid Afridi got furious with a player!

Cricket And The World:

There have been many pop culture releases that are specific to cricket. It is a sport which has gained quite a lot of popularity over the last couple of decades. Where football is the highest played sport globally, cricket may be the next best on the list.

So, what happened during a recent LPL match? It seems as though, from the image above, Shahid Afridi seems to be chewing out another player. There is footage that shows the Player, Naveen-Ul-Haq, already abusing another player, Muhammad Amir! Can anyone believe it? It seems to be that a player is trying to pick a brawl with a senior player!

Shahid Afridi’s Fury:

During the last minutes of the LPL match, Afghan Cricketer Naveen-Ul-Haq started shouting abuses to Muhammad Amir. He continued to abuse even after the game was over verbally. Now, of course, since the game is recorded, every part of that conversation was caught on film. He could clearly be seen speaking swear words and unsanitary language towards Muhammad Amir.

When the match ended, and the teams were meeting each other, Shahid Afridi stepped up and expressed his anger towards Naveen-Ul-Haq. In the video shown below, he can clearly be seen retaliating towards Naveen-Ul-Haq. It can be seen as a justified response since it’s unethical to treat your fellow sportspeople. It displays and portrays a sense of unprofessional attitude.

Pakistan And Cricket:

Naveen-Ul-Haq is quite a new face on the block. He is still a newbie bowler who is still trying to find a footing in the field. What caused him to react the way he did remains to be seen. However, the way he reacted is allegedly not the correct way to address someone. It is always better to calmly negotiate a situation rather than escalate it by fighting.

Shahid Afridi does not seem to be in the wrong as he is just defending Muhammad Amir. Let us hope this does not have future repercussions. It might not be the best thing for a rising player to have such a track record. After all, cricket is a competitive sport.

Pakistan’s famous actor Muneeb Butt blasted a leading luxury hotel in Karachi and took it on social media to express his grievances.

What did the hotel do to provoke such a reaction?

Muneeb narrated his personal experience of being stopped by a guard for not wearing a mask when he arrived at a leading hotel in Karachi for a shoot. He forgot his mask in his car, upon which he had to pay 30 rupees for a mask, which costs 10 rupees typically. He blasted the hotel in a video posted on social media for profiting off the coronavirus pandemic that has taken the world by storm.

He recalls his recent trip to Turkey with his wife, where the hotel gave the leading showbiz couple free masks to promote and encourage the implementation of safety precautions.

In his rant, he refers to the excessive profit on the sale of masks as an opportunistic approach by the hotel amid the pandemic.

Muneeb and Aiman, leading showbiz couple of the Pakistani industry recently went to Turkey for their vacations where they had a great time together. The couple shared their tour on Instagram where Muneeb had also planned a birthday surprise for Aiman.

Muneeb shared a picture on his Instagram to his 2.9 million followers from the occasion where he surprised Aiman on her birthday, referring to her as the love of his life.

The couple had arrived at Karachi for a short period of time as per Muneeb’s Instagram post where he reveals the couple’s plan for another vacation at Maldives.

The incident with the hotel in Karachi reportedly took place after the couple had arrived from their vacations from Turkey for a shoot which was the reason behind Muneeb being at the hotel.

In the past, the couple has received unreasonable hate and criticism from fans and followers for their excessive vacationing habits and social media posting.

The couple had just gotten free from their star-studded wedding which had made huge rounds on social media and were off to their honeymoon when they were being criticized by some followers for their excessive posting and for “wasting money”, as numerous internet trolls claimed.

Muneeb Butt and Aiman Khan have made millions of fans all around the world and have become superstars of our drama industry in a short period of time.

Kaavan, World’s Loneliest Elephant Lands Safely In Cambodia!

It finally happened!

It was indeed heartbreaking to see Pakistan’s loneliest elephant, Kaavan, entertaining hundreds of visitors at the zoo, that too in a barren patch of land in Islamabad. Kaavan was not treated with the utmost care in Pakistan as animals in zoos abroad usually are taken care of.

Moreover, the visitors would never have enough of him as he would amaze them with his adorable salutes and tricks while his handlers used to poke him with nailed bullhooks to earn a few bucks.

For years, it seemed that no one truly cared about Kaavan and his fate in the Pakistani zoo, which was heartbreaking. The poor elephant had wounds that became infected, and the chains around his legs left permanent scars. Due to all this, Kaavan slowly drifted into psychosis and obesity.

There’s always light at the end of the tunnel! Kaavan, after years of suffering in Pakistan, arrived safely in Cambodia by cargo plane on Monday. It was not an ordinary transfer! A special ceremony was held to welcome the 35-year-old elephant upon his arrival at the airport of Cambodia’s second-biggest city Siem Reap. To make it even more special, American pop star Cher, who visited Islamabad earlier to see the animal off, was also there to welcome him!

Here’s another amazing fact! For the first time ever, an animal weighing 4.8 tonnes from Pakistan was taken abroad for health recovery. Initially, a 10-acre area would be given to the Kaavan in a sanctuary in Cambodia to see other elephants. How cute!

This has to be the most heart-warming news of today!

Kaavan received an adorable, warm welcome!

Not only this, but the animal rescue organization Four Paws said that after touch down, Kaavan had another 90-minute drive ahead, and he would arrive at the sanctuary after nightfall.  So he would be released in daylight on Tuesday.

“Kaavan was eating, was not stressed; he was even a little bit sleeping, standing leaning at the crate wall. He behaves like a Frequent Flyer,” said Amir Khalil, a Four Paws vet.

“The flight was uneventful, which is all you can ask for when you transfer an elephant.”

It’s incredible to see how Kaavan was rescued at the right time! It’s about time humans should start treating animals fairly and with utmost care and respect! We wish Kaavan a healthy, new life ahead!

Based in Taiwan, the global company that connects 2 billion devices a year conducted a virtual webinar to outline its plans for Pakistan.

Rami Osman, the Director for Corporate Sales and Marketing MediaTek Middle East and Africa, addressed the webinar attended by various stakeholders in the technology industry. The attendees ranged from media publishers and YouTubers to tech influencers and media representatives. While the headline of the webinar was to discuss what the tech giant had in store for Pakistan, they emphasized being the providers of up-to-date Hyper Engine Gaming Technology for Pakistani consumers.

They laid focus on the gaming sector during their talks. MediaTek director explained that the company intends to empower the gaming devices with the new MediaTek Helio G Series. They will be doing that by introducing smartphones powered by the G Series, which includes in it the Hyper Engine gaming technology. The series will consist of MediaTek Helio G95, G90 series, G85, G80, G70, G35, and G25 chips. Every chip in this series is aimed to give the users great performance results and a fantastic gaming experience.

The Target Market in Pakistan

Rami Osman was asked about his views on the target market that he sees in Pakistan. He responded with statistical figures that show a promising future for the company in the country. He mentioned that there seems to be a positive trajectory for smartphone devices with a quick transition from 2G to 3G and now 4G.

Moreover, the country has a population of 200 million, so the target market constitutes at least 12 million active users. In the future, hence, the target market will only multiply. He mentioned that he is also aware of PTA and the government’s active interest in improving the telecommunication sector.

With everything looking so promising for the tech company, the director mentioned their plans for establishing a regional office in Pakistan; it indeed would be the need of the hour.

What are they planning?

As for the marketing strategy for the tech influencer, he explained how they would be paying attention to creating opportunities linked with 2G to 4G migration, such as investing in KaiOS smart feature phone that will operate on MediaTek chipset.

Continuing to introducing new features, Osman mentioned how they would be bringing on flagship features at economical prices to make every SEC their potential consumer. Additionally, the chip-making company is also looking at joining hands with local manufacturers of TV and smartphones.

They also mentioned how they would be studying Pakistan rather than enforcing their outlook regarding the PR strategy. And that matters a lot because if one does not make an effort to understand their consumers, they will not be able to brief them about their products and solutions effectively.

To give a gist of this webinar, it was about MediaTek outlining their strategy for Pakistan, which includes making an effort to improve strategic partnerships with local manufacturers. And that goes hand in hand with their next point, encouraging the Pakistani market to use their Hyper Engine Gaming Technology. Sajal Ali Bags The International Icon Award At DIAFA

The beloved Dr. Zubia from Yaqeen ka Safar has time and again proved her extraordinary skills in the entertainment industry. We have had quite some reservations against the industry’s talent these days, but Sajal Ali is one of those few actors who have shown to us that they are there due to their talent. And when one has talent, it gets recognized.

Sajal, too got recognized for her exceptional work. What makes her truly a star is that she has not only owned the Pakistani television platform but also Pakistani as well as Indian cinema. So if it is not the time for her to be appreciated internationally, I don’t know what is.

The awards by the name of DIAFA (Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards) held yesterday on 29th November in Dubai was the stage that did it, giving Sajal the recognition she deserves. After having played almost all kinds of roles, from the innocent protagonist in Meri Ladli to the outspoken and strong-willed protagonist who can give up her husband for her values.

These are obviously not all the roles she played. The best one by far was in Rangreza, where she took her acting skills and reached her peak. But saying that she has reached the peak would be an insult to the talent she possesses. This could be the fan inside me speaking, but I believe she defines the peak she aims to reach herself. Every time, it’s a bit higher.

Whenever an actor starts achieving new heights, they get recognized beyond borders. Before Sajal, we have had other actors who have been exceptional in their works as well, so much so that the boundaries blurred. One such example is Mahira Khan. Getting her fame from the drama Humsafar, the VJ turned actress took part in Pakistani films and was invited to Bollywood to act alongside Shahrukh Khan.

She, too, was invited to DIAFA last year, which was held in May. She paraded in her gorgeous dress and received an award for her works. This year, the awards were held in November. The delay can definitely be due to the pandemic that has afflicted the whole world. But when it is time to recognize talent, even UAE that has imposed restrictions on Pakistanis has to invite our beloved Sajal and give her the award for ‘International Icon’ that she truly deserves.

Now it seems Minal Khan is on her way to get her “happily ever after”. But is all fair in love? Seems not!

Minal Khan and Ahsan Mohsin Ikram’s pictures are attracting a lot of hate and criticism. The most recent image posted has Minal Khan sitting on Ahsan Mohsin’s lap! This obviously has people saying, “have some shame.” This is the photo:

Even in other photos, the two are getting cosy and closer to each other. This lack of distance between two people is seldom acceptable by the Pakistani awam, so is it all any surprising?

Instagram’s Saving Grace

Instagram today is no longer heaven and hell for stars. It’s mostly heaven because if there ever comes a barrage of hate comments, they can simply turn the comments off! And that is exactly what Ahsan Mohsin Ikram has done. Should it be taken as a sign of admission of guilt? After all, jab payer kayak too darna kya?

Live And Let Live?

Many will come forth and say that let them do what they want to. No one is answerable for them, they themselves are. So why should we critique their actions or bully them into submission with hate comments?

The fact of the matter is that their love life is being posted on social media with their consent. And what is social media if not a platform where everybody voices their opinion? For celebrities especially it is not possible to report and address each negative comment. If they’d like privacy, they can always have a private account with 60 followers and live happily. 

To think that one can post whatever and not be questioned is to think that one is living in a utopia. How close does Pakistan come to a utopia anyway?

What Should We Be Expecting?

In the near future, we should expect more photos from the two lovebirds. Because while they may turn off the comments, they can’t turn off their relationship! We hope the two stay happy together.
