Ever since the South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer KIA Motors arrived in Pakistan, auto fanatics have something new to look forward to.

Pakistanis are loving the new variants by KIA and other companies that have brought variety to the country. In no time, the auto-titan created a strong foothold in the country.

Now, fans and potential customers are looking forward to another great addition to the KIA family. The manufacturer is reportedly rolling out as next-gen KIA Sportage (codenamed NQ5).

Although most of the information available is based on speculations, we can have a relatively good idea of what to expect from the variant.

KIA Sportage (NQ5) Launch Date

According to a Korean blog, the speculated launch date of the newly upgraded 5th Gen Sportage is April 2021. The blog has also claimed that the Sportage has been given the codename NQ5.

The blog also claims that KIA is planning on introducing a new trim with the lineup – Gravity.

According to the blog:

“Initially, Kia Motors expected to launch long body versions of the new Sportage in major markets including South Korea and Europe. This is attributable to Kia’s recent efforts to secure a full range of SUV products, diversification of products due to the weakening of the semi-mid-size SUV market, and expectations of the revival of the first-generation Sportage Grand (Long body) after 20 years (pictured above).

“This longer body could have arrived at the new Tucson too, but now is confirmed that will have only the regular version, which is also bigger but still a 5-seater to not compete with Santa Fe. In the case of Kia, they explained at that time that the long body will only be released in China.”

Speculated Specifications

When we talk about under the hood, the NQ5 is rumored to be equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, producing 190 horsepower. A 1.6-liter turbocharged four-pot may also be on the offer with either plug-in hybrid or hybrid technology.

The current Sportage comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated. Since the Sportage and Tucson are like sisters, we can expect to see both to share their technology and platforms.

We now have to wait at least another 6-7 months to know what the 5th Gen KIA Sportage will offer. But, we will also have to wait and see when does the local automotive market in Pakistan receives this variant.

The specifications for the 5th gen model can also vary from market to market, depending on the manufacturer.

1. Sabana Homestay

This hotel is known for giving a homey vibe. People were delighted at the breakfast and the staff was reportedly great. And for 8-day stay, the price was PKR 11,605.

2. Duta Garden Hotel

The exterior is just as beautiful as the interior. It has a 4 out of 5 ratings with at least 250 satisfied customers. Although the hotel has 3 terrible reviews too. But there was one particular review that caught my eye. A traveller mentioned that they are accustomed to staying in large hotels, and that is why they were unsure about this hotel. And yet, they loved their stay here. For 8 days, it costs PKR 23,762.

3. Hotel Neo Malioboro

Spacious rooms, clean, and is located at a spot which is at walking distance from popular attractions as well as restaurants. And the rooms are said to be soundproof. I would totally choose this at PKR 21,994 for 7 days.

4. Adhisthana Hotel Yogyakarta

Ambience matters a lot to me. If you are like me and you choose hotels on the basis of ambience, this one just might be it. For a very small price, not even PKR 20,000 for 7 days, you can stay at the hotel which has a pool right in the centre. I would not go swimming in such a close space probably but it does look pretty.

5. MMUGM Hotel

Aside from clean rooms and nice hotel staff, MMUGM was said to be located at a great place. It is near UGM mosque and the international airport. There is no hurry where the breakfast is concerned. As you may well know that some hotels allot only 2 hours for the breakfast buffet, this particular hotel has it from 6 am to 10 am. And you can book it for PKR 13,274 for 7 days.

We, of course, do not force these hotels on you. You can choose them yourself. Do your own research on Booking.com, TripAdvisor, hostels.com and then make a decision. We just intend To make your life a little easier by looking up some hotels according to filters that always includes ‘breakfast included’ option. Since childhood, we are taught that no two humans share the exact same DNA. When it comes to passwords, your keyboard acts like DNA for your password, leaving behind the information.

Each stroke on the keyboard leaves behind a heat trail that hackers use to figure out what the user’s password might be. You don’t want your passwords falling into the wrong hands.

As technology advances, hacking has become easier. People are easily scammed into giving up their valuable information and days have turned into hours when it comes to hacking.

So how does one keep their passwords strong and information safe?

1. Use Numbers, Symbols & Capitals

When you enter a password, your keyboard leaves behind a trail. It’s like leaving your fingerprints on evidence.

A hacker can easily identify the keys that were used in the password. Then they run the keys through software which gives them potential combinations until they hit the right one.

However, passwords with difficult strokes are harder to crack. In order to keep a strong password, users are encouraged to add numbers and used symbols. Even capital letters are encouraged.

Moreover, users are advised not to keep passwords as simple as their phone number, birthdays, or anything of such sort which can be cracked within seconds.

A strong password should have 12 characters minimum, this includes a series of upper cases, lower cases, numbers, and symbols. It should be a word that is highly uncommon or something that doesn’t exist at all and should not have any connections to the user. i.e @12dfG#34hjK$asD!!

2. Use Different Passwords For Different Platforms

It’s hard to remember so much information and simple tasks, why would one want to go out of their way to remember 10 different passwords, right?

This is where the hacker knows that they have you trapped.

Keeping the same password for all accounts under your ID and name make them even more vulnerable than having different passwords.

If the hacker can successfully gain access to one account, they literally get a full-access master key to everything else.

3. Use Two-Factor Authentification

Two-factor verification is an additional security procedure that you should definitely consider for all your accounts. Though it can become a bit annoying, in the long run, it will protect your data and personal files.

Platforms like Facebook encourage uses to use this security tool to prevent their account from being hacked, even if a hacker does have the password. When the hacker tries to log in, the user will receive a notification that a device is trying to access the account.

This is when you MUST change your password immediately and remove all saved devices from your phone.

HEC Announces Special Allocations For Baloch Students

With most qualified institutes located in other provinces, Balochistan is assumed to be losing out on an important necessity, education. Nevertheless, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) deals with it ‘all hands on deck’ approach. HEC has realized the need to provide support for Baluchistan when you come across the news that HEC announces special allocation for students Baloch students.

HEC has asked the provinces in a formal tone that they need to allocate Balochi candidates from the get-go. Moreover, this will be for the people in Baluchistan and all the country’s remote regions. It was formalized in the statement issued on Thursday by the HEC. They added that the allocation for Balochi students is an add-on on the already existing HEC programs for supporting Baloch students.

Some Important Scholarships

Balochistan has seen several schemes that grant scholarships to Baloch students. These schemes and programs have already awarded 4523 need-based scholarships and 3000 Ehsaas scholarships. There have also been other programs such as overseas scholarships and indigenous scholarships that were the light of hope for 559 students. Moreover, as we all know, placement in medical colleges is yet another troublesome task, but through HEC schemes, there are 300 placements in medical colleges every year.

It should also be noted that in May of 2020, the government allocated a budget of PKR 285 million for the development of universities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. This value was notably higher than its usual budget allocation.

What are those already existing programs?

There are other programs as well that aim at bringing Baluchistan forward in the race. And among them, there is the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package. The scheme is for those Master’s program that goes on to become PhD’s, both in local universities or abroad. The program was launched in the year 2012. And by now, the scholarship has benefitted 302 students, with 159 in local universities and 143 overseas.

Another program by HEC goes with the name of “Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for Students of Balochistan & FATA (Phase-II).” According to this one, 1000 people completed their undergraduate and 294 achieved postgraduate.

Meanwhile through “Law Graduates Scholarship Programme for Balochistan for Study Abroad,” 44 Baloch students got the chance to study abroad.

And since 2017, CPEC has also created opportunities for Gawadar residents. 50 students have availed it, while 50 more are under process.

Not to forget the ‘Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Less-Developed Areas.’ Since 2012-13, more than thirty thousand students have got in.

So there are programs in place, and soon hopefully, Baluchistan will see more and more people achieving higher education.

iPhone 12 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – Which One Is Better?

Samsung and iPhone are two of the greatest Titans of the flagship industry. Time and time again, they’ve met on the battlefield to hash out their differences. So, who is the superior one? With their recent release, Apple seems to have unleashed a devastating attack! What is Samsung’s retaliation then?

The Note 20 Ultra is the champion, with it’s state-of-the-art features and capabilities. Why don’t we take a look at their specifications and see who wins the next grudge match? After all, even the tech industry is a fight for the food chain’s Apex predator.

Here we have our latest contender; Apple iPhone 12. With a major upgrade in its software, the iPhone 12 features the A14 bionic chip. It houses an enormous amount of storage which starts off from 64 GB and goes up as high as 256 GB. The iPhone 12 lacks in its capabilities to house external storage but it makes up for it due to its sleek design.

The phone is built on a Risc Architecture which means that even on 4GB RAM, it’s capable of higher functions. This 4GB can have the equivalent of an 8GB on an Android phone. The camera, as always, is good. The iPhone and not a good camera? That does not seem possible.

iPhone 12 lacks in its battery capacity but makes up for it in fast charging. This ends the specifications of the iPhone 12!

Here, taking heavy strides comes the series of Samsung people marvel at. If there’s two series Samsung is known for its S-series and the Note series. That stylus feature will always be fascinating to people. The Samsung Note 20 Ultra houses an impressive Exynos 990 chip. The phone is Octa-Core so there is no question of function. The GHz are blinding!

When it comes to storage, the phone stands at internal 256 GB, with an external range of up to 1TB. A Terabyte?! That is like having a micro external HDD for the phone. You can store quite a lot in such storage. The battery stands at about 4500maH capacity. This means you can run the phone for easily a day and more. Realme 5i runs two and a half days on 5000maH so 4500 is not too far behind either!

Let the games begin!

Where it’s quite clear that Apple’s architecture allows for faster usage and better ease of access, Samsung is no less either. However, the bionic A14 chip must be given the upper hand since the Android Equivalent to fight it is not Exynos, but Snapdragon. Apple takes a hit because of its no external storage and takes another hit on the battery power. There is no chance an iPhone can last longer than the Android! Samsung and iPhone are hitting away!

The iPhone 12 seems to be winning on the camera front but Samsung Note 20 Ultra takes the cake here too. It features a monstrous 108 MegaPixel camera. This is such a powerful camera that Moon pictures can be taken with better quality. Clouds can be captured with such an essence that you may feel as if you are up there.

After consideration, it seems that Samsung Note 20 Ultra comes out on top between Apple and Samsung. Talking about the price range, the Note 20 Ultra is set to be at Rs.2, 19, 000. The iPhone 12 is expected to reach as high as Rs.2, 00, 000.

TikTok Star Jannat Mirza To Move To Japan After TikTok Ban

Jannat Mirza became the nation’s most loved star through the platform of TikTok. She gathered 10 million followers on it and was widely loved and appreciated. But this was not long-lasting considering Pakistan banned the app. While many TikTok stars were heartbroken about it, with one man even mentioning that he will not be able to go Hajj anymore, there was Jannat Mirza who did not mirror the feeling.

Most and Least Sold Cars In Pakistan During September 2020 — PC: Hyundai

Every month, automotive manufacturers go neck-to-neck to compete with each other in car sales.

The ideal goal is to win potential customers by gaining their trust and making them a client.

Each month, Pakistan Automobile Manufacturer’s Association (PAMA) releases the official stats for the number of cars sold every month.

Now that automotive manufacturers have started to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, the sales have improved by up to 32%.

While many brands improved in sales from August, some still faced a decline. Without further ado, here are the most sold and least sold cars of September 2020.

Most Sold Cars September 2020

Hyundai has stood out in September with a massive increase in sales by a whopping 877%! The auto giant sold 22 units in August but managed to sell 215 units in September 2020 successfully.

Suzuki WagonR also pulled-off a decent number of sales. There were 733 units sold in August, but in September, Suzuki sold 1161 units, showing a 58.4% difference. Isuzu D-MAX also witnessed an increase in sales by 54.5%.

Honda BR-V, Toyota Yaris, Corolla followed by increasing sales by 50%, 42%, and 40.5%, respectively.

Other variants that have witnessed an increase in sales are Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Swift, Honda Civic and Honda City, Hyundai Porter, Toyota Fortuner, and Suzuki Bolan.

While several of these variants have witnessed a good comeback in September, there were a few unfortunate variants that didn’t see an increase in sales. The demand for Toyota Hilux dropped by 2% from 614 units to 602 units sold.

Least Sold Cars September 2020

A few other car variants also witnessed a decline in sales by up to 49%. We do hope that these automotive titans recover from the effects of Coronavirus.

Moreover, the good news is that many of these brands are ready to introduce new variants in the Pakistani markets to make things more interesting.

Tiffany & Co. Just Released An Overpriced Gold Paperclip & It’s Hilarious

If you are a jewelry lover, you will have heard of Tiffany & Co. Even if you are not, you would have heard of it considering it’s very famous. But did you know that Tiffany & Co. does not only make jewelry? That’s right. They make much more than just jewelry, and the logic behind making them might surpass you. But hey, maybe it is just my middle-class brain that cannot understand it.

Why don’t you decide for yourself and see if what I am saying has any truth?

The Gold Paperclip

Tiffany and Co. recently released a paperclip. It is 2.5 inches long. You can find it on the website and their New York flagship store and, it is made of 18 karat gold. You heard it right. Gold paperclip. So you can imagine it must cost a lot. But could you have guessed that it costs $1500?

When the internet found out about this, it had a similar reaction. The ‘meme-fam’ were quick to react, and the reaction seems pretty much accurate. I mean, if I am buying a fifteen hundred dollar paper clip, it should be able to hold something more important than just 2 papers together.

Someone even shared how moms would react at such a paperclip. But then again, if it were a brown mom, the ones buying this paperclip would probably see a flying chappal.

That said, apparently, the brand is known for selling similarly overpriced and, honestly, useless things. I say useless because one would not want to lose the paperclip they bought for more than 2 lac Pakistani rupees because they wanted to attach their appointment letter with their payslip. In fact, the paperclip would not even see the light of day, possibly forever, just like a $1000 tin can or a $9,000 ball of yarn.

If I ever get a chance to meet the creative brains at Tiffany & Co., I would like to ask them the logic behind coming up with such ideas. What makes them think that someone would buy a $1000 product that they could buy in under $5 at any store? And even if these things are being made to decorate and not use, how exactly is one supposed to decorate their house with a paperclip or a tin can?

Of course, if you are extrewealthyhave money to spend but are can not an avenue to spend it on, you can totally buy a paper clip. Or go on a luxury world tour. Your choice!

How To Easily Download Instagram Videos Online in MP4

Among all social media platforms, Instagram has the most variant audience available, be it different socioeconomic classes or other age groups. Initially, it was just a picture that you could upload on Instagram, and people would take screenshots of the content. But now you can upload videos and IGTV as well on Instagram. While the mediums have increased certainly, Insta users find a hindrance in sharing Instagram videos to other platforms.

Some even try to record their screen (yes, I am talking to you, Apple users). So here is a little piece of information for you. You can download Instagram videos and share them on Whatsapp, Facebook, or whatever platform you want. Here is how you can do that.

1. Open the app

I mean, you cannot go more basic from this. You will have to open the Instagram app. But don’t forget what you are there for. I know that Insta can be very enticing but don’t get caught in the flow. And don’t bookmark the video you later want to download because, and I say it from personal experience, that ‘later’ will never come. We forget that we saved a video, and it just rots away in the bookmark section.

2. Copy the link

Look at the top right of the video that you want to download. You will find three dots. Click on it, and Instagram will give you various options. Choose the option ‘copy link.’ The method stays the same for users on the app or the web. It is just that the option in the app is second in the list, whereas, for the web, it is at the fifth priority.

3. Downloader website

Go to Google and type ‘Download Instagram videos.’ Google will give you a list of results. You can click on the very first link. It will open the video downloader website. The work for all is pretty much the same, so you don’t have to dwell on which site would have been better.

4. Paste the link

Remember, you had copied the Instagram link? Now go and paste that link where the website is telling you to paste it. Once you paste it, for some website, it makes the button labeled ‘Download Instagram video’ green or clickable.

5. Click on Download

Now, of course, click on the ‘download Instagram video’ button. This doesn’t automatically download the video. It reads the link and makes it downloadable. After that only, it gives the option of downloading the video in MP4. You will have to choose the option to open a window where you can browse and select the folder you want to save the video in.

Once you choose the folder and click Save on the window, it starts downloading. For iPhone users, for safety purposes, I would recommend that once the video downloads, click on ‘save the video.’

Say bye-bye to the recording screen because now you can share the video wherever you want.

The model spoke about being admitted to the hospital on her 25th birthday because her body’s effects due to her mental health had gotten worse.

Since she would starve herself for up to 24 hours, she would start blacking out. She would faint regularly, would feel sick, and would feel unhappy. But as she said, “she was used to being unhappy.”

I think it had less to do with my field of work and more to do with how I was okay with being so self-destructive. I was comfortable with being unhappy. But this is a happy story, I promise. Now a year later, I’m a happier person. I’ve been clean for more than a year. I have found support and happiness in my family, friends, and my pets. I have set boundaries that I never let people cross. I decided that I could still be beautiful, no matter what number the weighing scale would say. I took therapy. I put myself first. I tackled my issues head on, and at first it was scary and it aggravated my anxiety, but I’ve grown, and I’ve healed. It’s still an ongoing process of recovery that I’m on. Ed Kemper, Charles Manson, The Zodiac Killer were all part of the same timeline. Similarly, there was a highly intellectual and educated serial killer by the name of Ted Bundy. He used to lure women out and kill them.

Now imagine a cinematic depiction of the serial killer by none other than Zac Efron. It’s actually scary to see how well Efron can portray the killer. It almost feels as if they go hand in hand! Check out this Netflix Original if you are someone who is into serial killers and crime.

5. The Red Sea Diving Resort

5 Things To Do If You Suspect Medical Malpractice

Humans are imperfect, and we are imperfectly perfect the way we are. However, our imperfection can sometimes cause trouble, especially if we’re a part of the healthcare system.

We are born in a hospital, many of us die in one too. Along the way, we are treated for various things in one and from chickenpox to the common flu and fever.

However, there have also been instances of medical malpractice that has shaken our faith in doctors and healthcare institutes.

At times, many of these mistakes are human errors made unconsciously; the slightest of mistake can claim a life within seconds.

Before we go on about dealing with malpractice, you need to understand what the term means.

What Is Medical Malpractice?

The term is used to refer to an act that has been carried out on a patient that deviates from accepted norms of practice in the medical community. The act can cause an injury to the patient or cause them the loss of life.

If proven guilty, the physician/doctor is then dealt with according to the law and can lose their license to practice.

Malpractice can occur in a hospital, clinic, under the watch of a nurse, doctor, or any other health professional.

5 Things To Do If You Suspect Medical Malpractice

The most important thing you must remember before you start suing for medical malpractice is that it’s excruciating and expensive. It can take months, even years, to prove malpractice. Hence, think about it carefully before proceeding.

Step 1- Control Your Feelings & Anger

Yes, it’s natural for you to be angry if your family member was misdiagnosed or treated. However, lashing out at the hospital or clinic staff will make matters worse. Not many doctors are willing to admit that the mistake was on their end.

Making noise will not get them to confess on the spot. Hence, you must calm down and gather the evidence to prove that the patient was not treated properly or was injured in the process.

Step 2- Find Another Doctor

Going to another doctor doesn’t mean that they will make the case worse. Another doctor from another or even the same institute will confirm or dent if there was something suspicious in the case.

Moreover, the health of the patient is essential, as well. It’s better to take them out of the doctor’s care who may have committed the malpractice. It is highly likely that the second doctor will be unable to do what this first did.

Step 3- Request For All Medical Reports

If you make a commotion before getting hold of the patient’s medical records, there’s a good chance the clinic or healthcare center may not want to give you all the records. Because there should be no delay, you must do your best to compile all the records before and after the malpractice.

At times, if there was a serious injury or mistake, the reports from before and after can be your proof. For example, if the operation was of the heart, but an incision was made on the kidney, the reports will pick it up. Giving you enough evidence to plan your next move.

Step 4- Take Down Notes

It would be best if you had a timeline of the events. To get the story as accurate as possible, you should jot down notes. Medical practice is all about dates and times, what date was the checkup, what time the doctor made around, etc.

If you fo ahead and sue the doctor in charge, you need to make sure you have the timeline correct to place the individual exactly where you say they were to make a point.

Step 5- Contact An Attorney

Now that the patient is out of danger, the second doctor has confirmed medical practice, the medical reports are in your hand, and you have a timeline, it’s time to meet a lawyer.

You must present all the evidence that you have to make a strong case. If the patient is in good condition to give their statement, it will further strengthen your case. The attorney will explain what you need to do in the meantime and how they will proceed with the case.

Moreover, you mustn’t meet with ‘other parties’ or contact people who may compromise the case. Only your attorney should be your main point of contact and should be present in any or all meetings with you or the patient.

Traveling anywhere, there are only two important things you need to have finalized; the rest can be spontaneous. I mean, that is my personal belief. They can totally differ for you. But as someone who likes traveling solo, I make sure that I choose a safe airline and have prebooked my hotels for the entire trip. So when planning for a trip to Jakarta, I would want the same. And so should you.

Here is a list of few hotels that you can choose from if you plan to go to the Indonesian city of Jakarta.

1. Orchardz Hotel Jayakarta

Not only are there non-smoking rooms but also smoking rooms available, so if you are a smoker, they have you covered. Other than that, the housekeeping gives you the value for your money because it has rated quite well in terms of cleanliness. And you can book for 8 days for PKR 28,000.

2. Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel and Residence

PKR 2,800 for one night and almost PKR 27,000 for 8 nights; the hotel has quite a few attractions nearby. From a Mangga Dua Morning Market to a Black Portuguese Church and loads of restaurants, everything is nearby. No wonder this place is rated high for walkers.

4. RedDoorz Plus near Plaza Blok M

The hotel looks clean and pretty comfortable. Customer reviews are also great. Honestly, after Orchards, this hotel sounds the best. Not to mention that the price is extremely affordable. But let me elaborate a little on that. So I input the dates of early November, and Booking.com showed an ongoing deal that prices the room at PKR 23,000. But even if you are choosing it for other days, the price goes only up to PKR 30,000.

5. Grand G7 Hotel

I like to explore any city by myself. And therefore, I prefer not to hire any transport and walk around. So after a good day of exploring, I would want a clean bed to jump in without the fear of bed bug. So Grand G7 offers that and also a great breakfast. Although you might have to see if you are okay with continental dishes considering, there are not many international ones. And you will be getting it all at PKR 31,000, so let’s be reasonable.

You don’t necessarily have to choose from these Jakarta hotels, but we did explore both platforms, Trip Advisor and Booking.com, and chose only the ones with the best rating and reviews. Not to mention, we went for the lowest price range. Basically, we compiled a list that keeps track of the budget, comfort, and luxury.

The tale of hypocrisy is one as old as time. One often forgets their past-doings before they call someone out for something similar… Alas, Amna Ilyas has fallen prey to the tale!

Accused Of Hypocrisy Over What?

The internet is a scary place because deep in the depths of forgetfulness lies material that can be scavenged at any time. And this is exactly what happened. Someone took out a video of Amna Ilyas in which she is fat-shaming someone.

The interview was with Sadaf Kanwal. The two current models were seemingly playing a game of charades when Amina Haq’s name came up. Since Amna Ilyas had to explain to Sadaf Kanwal who she was talking about without speaking, her gestures were problematic.

She makes the gesture of someone being fat, and Sadaf Kanwal also picks it up by saying, “moti hogaye hai?”.

Why Was This Hypocritical?

This was extremely problematic and obviously hypocritical body-shaming isn’t a great thing to be laughing over. While everyone is appreciative of her vocal advocacy against colourism, who’s going to tell her that body-shaming needs to be fought too?

If her stance against colourism is this that it’s something beyond the control of people, what’s making her assume that weight is within people’s control?

We’re not talking about models who gain a KG or two here and there. Being ‘fat’ is greater than that and being obese is greater than that all of which are thoroughly shamed in our society.

Did anyone also think about how Amina Haq must have felt having two people call her “Fat” – clearly in a derogatory way – in an interview?

Amna Ilyas’ Response Is… Errr

Whether her response is meant to be ignorant or a show-off we can not tell. It features her all decked up, sitting in a car and addressing these comments of “moti kaha hai”. Then she says, “wou tou mai hu hi nai” which is just strange.

Yes, everyone knows you’re not plus-sized, but you called someone else that?

With Pakistani celebrities, it’s true that their true colours come to light later if not sooner. There goes her so-called woke-ness when she can not acknowledge her past and apologize for it. No, the zazz of rolling up your window and wearing some chic glasses does not make you cooler.
