Dawlance Aids Pakistan Health-Care Infrastructure By Donating Ventilators Made By Its Principal, Arçelik Turkey

Dawlance aids pakistan

Dawlance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arçelik Turkey – the 2nd largest home appliances manufacturing company in Europe, has stepped up to help Pakistan during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating ten life-saving Respiratory Ventilators, through its subsidiary Dawlance, to significant hospitals in Pakistan.

In April, Arçelik revealed it had joined forces with BioSys, defense firm Aselsan and aviation company Baykar Technologies to produce mechanical ventilators, in a collective effort led by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Commerce the Ministry of Health.

A team of 120 engineers used rapid prototyping facilities at Arçelik Garage, an open innovation center in Istanbul, to design and test the initial prototype in just two weeks. By June, 5,000 devices had been manufactured at its Çerkezköy electronics on a not-for-profit basis to meet domestic and international demand.

The ventilators were made to meet domestic and international demands while the brand decided to donate 50 ventilators to help countries battling pandemic. Under these donations, ten ventilators were presented by Arçelik to Dawlance to help major hospitals in Pakistan. The grant was distributed as; two vents to the NDMA COVID Hospital in Islamabad, two vents each to the Indus Hospital, Karachi, Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplant (SIUT), Karachi, and Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital while one at Dow Hospital (Ojha Campus), Karachi and one to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.

In efforts to serve the people of Pakistan, over the past few months, Dawlance itself has donated a large number of valuable refrigerators, deep freezers, air-conditioners, self-produced incubation-chamber, and PPE’s microwave-ovens and other appliances to medical-care institutions all around Pakistan. This was to enhance the hospitals’ capacity to deliver better care to the patients in Pakistan.

The donations by Dawlance in these challenging economic situations have equipped the doctors and para-medical staff working on the frontline against the virus so that they are enabled to save more lives during this public-health crisis while protecting themselves with the help of PPEs and self-incubation chambers. This pledge of ventilators by Arcelik and Dawlance is a testimony that Pakistan and Turkey hold strong bilateral relations, which can be observed.

The Chief Executive Officer of Dawlance – Umar Ahsan Khan, shared his gratitude by saying, “It is a pleasure to acknowledge that these advanced ventilators produced at the Arçelik factory in Turkey have been received Dawlance, to be donated to the leading healthcare institutions of Pakistan. This kind gesture by Arcelik signifies the strong bilateral relationship between Turkey and Pakistan. The robust collaboration and sharing of innovative technologies between Dawlance and Arcelik will continue to bring significant benefits for the nation, while further strengthening the bonds between Pakistan and Turkey.

Considering the need for enrichment in the healthcare infrastructure of Pakistan, Dawlance-Arcelik believes that it is inspiring the creative corporate sector to contribute generously, to minimize the socio-economic impact of this disease. Pandemics like COVID19 require collective efforts rather than an individual for a sustainable future for which Dawlance and Arçelik have set the right direction.

Pakistan’s New 3D Zebra Crossings Introduced In Lahore

As an attempt to revamp the city and raise traffic awareness among citizens, Metropolitan Corporate Lahore has introduced Pakistan’s first-ever 3D Zebra Crossing in Lahore.

Pakistan’s First-Ever 3D Zebra Crossing

Reportedly, the 3D Zebra Crossing has been installed on Mall Road – the heart of the metropolis. Mall Road in Lahore has a substantial cultural and historical value to it. It also features several architectural structures from the Mughal and colonial era.

According to Lahore Commissioner, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman, around twenty 3D Zebra Crossings will be installed across the city, prompting travelers to remain vigilant and abide by the traffic rules and regulations.

Aren’t these 3D Zebra Crossings adorable?

3D Zebra Crossings Have Been Effective All Across The World

Beautifying the roads of the provincial capital and attempting to increase traffic mindfulness among both the pedestrians and the motorists or drivers, the development of the three-dimensional zebra crossing aligns with the international standards, as per reports, making the drivers more vigilant and attentive.

3D Zebra Crossings have remained extremely useful all across the world, be it in China, Thailand, Iceland, UK or in the United States, as they attract pedestrians, compelling them to use the zebra crossings and simultaneously induce attentiveness among those driving on the roads, curtailing the risk of road accidents to some extent if not entirely.

Traffic Offenses Have Hit A New High In Pakistan

It’s pretty unfortunate that we take our lives for granted and prefer staying in our comfort zone rather than observing the traffic laws that are put into effect for our safety, essentially. Traffic offenses and violations of the traffic code resulting in pedestrian fatalities have escalated immensely over the last few years in Pakistan.

The authorities are playing their role in encouraging inhabitants to follow traffic guidelines thoroughly. However, it’s about time we too start following street/road rules religiously. We too need to take up some responsibility for our safety and stop blaming the government or the authorities for literally anything and everything.

Will the introduction of 3D Zebra Crossings in Pakistan prove to be effective enough in urging travelers to follow traffic rules and regulations? Will the installation of 3D Zebra Crossings be as productive in ensuring road safety as it has been in other countries around the globe? What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below!

3 Signs To Know It’s The Right Time To Replace Your Car!

3 Signs To Know It's The Right Time To Replace Your Car!
PC: The Dough Roller

For many individuals, having their car is not about privilege or luxury but a necessity. Office-going individuals or those who have to travel long distances for meetings and work can’t function without a car.

Hence, imagine the trouble car owners go through when their car’s lifespan comes to an end either naturally or un-naturally without a backup plan! Before your ride comes to the end of the road, it gives many indications that its time is up.

As a driver or owner, it is up to you to understand these signs and find a quick replacement for your car. You can either sell it for a few bucks, get it exchanged, or sell its scrap parts for money.

Here are three signs to know it’s the right time to replace your car!

3 Signs To Know It’s The Right Time To Replace Your Car!

1. When Maintenance Costs More Than Your Car’s Worth

Once your car become expensive, even more than its value, you’ll automatically figure it out that it’s time to buy a new one. Your car is like a phone; if you use a feature phone, you’ll have fewer features than a smartphone, pocket-friendly repairs, and it does the same task.

However, it then starts to get outdated; it slows down, you start having a lot of trouble; the battery is not found anymore, so on so forth. Hence, staying updated isn’t a bad idea as long as you have used it to its full potential.

10 Tips To Sell Your Car Faster For A Great Retail Price!

2.  When Safety Becomes Questionable

Above I have you an example of how an old car is like a feature phone, and a new one is somewhat like a smartphone. One of the things we all love about the smartphone is security. No one can access or unlock your phone without a fingerprint, face scan, etc. (unless they’re a hacker!). However, a feature phone’s security is not as strong and is vulnerable.

Similarly, an old car does not have as many features nor the latest equipment as a new one. However, cars are equipped with standard safety features such as seatbelts, airbags, ABS, etc. More modern vehicles are equipped with many new safety features such as sensors that help cars stop/slow down when they sense that it will have a collision.

3. When You’ve Just About Had Enough!

I understand you have some pretty great memories in your car. Going to work on the first day, coming home with a gorgeous bride, or even welcoming a new family member. But sometimes, even you know when it’s time to let go and consider an upgrade.

Which signs influence you to buy a new vehicle? Share them with us.

Personal Reflection: How Local Are Local Folktales?

folktales

Lake Saif ul Malook‘s legend has a prince in pursuit of a fairy. He finds the fairies bathing in the lake. To possess one of them, he steals a fairy’s crown, and now, she can’t return to her world. For someone well versed in folktales of different cultures would immediately connect it to the Korean one with the name ‘Mama Fairy and the woodcutter’.

Similarities in Korean FolkTales

The story goes somewhat like that a woodcutter finds out about a lake where fairies come to bathe. The fairies leave their winged clothes on the bank. He hides one of them. That particular fairy is now unable to return. And they get married.

folktales

Exploring the Korean version a little further, we find out that after many years the woodcutter confesses to what he did. The fairy gets nostalgic and leaves for her world. The woodcutter wants to follow suit. He finds some beans which grow up to the sky. Jack and the beanstalks, anyone?

Looking at South Asian Folklores

And this led me to wonder; somehow, almost all a particular culture’s folktales are found in another culture, or at least some rendition of them. I mean, take Heer Ranjha, for example. Heer Ranjha, Punjabi folklore that talks about two lovers who cannot unite due to parental disagreement. Events unfold in a way that they die.

Now, keep in mind that this a South Asian folklore—an almost similar story we can find in Arab culture, Laila Majnun. Due to parents not agreeing to it, Laila and her lover Qays get separated. And eventually, die. Remember, Romeo and Juliet?

folktales

So Local?

The point is, these stories are found almost in every culture. What I am trying to say here basically is that were there a Laila, a Heer, and Juliet? Or is it that one lore, one legend, and then as it spread through oral tradition, each culture appropriated the story according to their geography, culture, and history.

Does that not imply that the ‘local’ folktales are not local? Instead, they have global origins. Or maybe that is not the right word towards what I am indicating. My thoughts are that these folklores just do not belong to any particular culture. It was not that Prince Saif of Egypt met the fairy Badi-ul-Jamal in northern Pakistan or a woodcutter met the fairy in Korea. Instead, someone somewhere at some point in time told the story of a man and a fairy falling in love at a lake. And that story went globally local or GLOCAL.

Motorway Incident: 5 Things Pakistani Parents Should Do

The recent unfortunate motorway incident has repurchased countless other such experiences to the mind, made everyone uncomfortable, and question female security. The hashtags, the demands for justice, the unfriendly comments have all had me think about the root causes of such incidents.

It has made me question the core values we teach our children and drawn me to the conclusion that while we cannot continuously hover over and protect our children, we can empower them. Beyond the hashtags, beyond the protests and state responsibilities are a few baby steps to foster a more friendly society for both girls and boys.

  1. Stop with the boys can, and girls can’t attitude

Being a mother of both a girl and a boy, I strongly condemn this attitude. It doesn’t allow one to work towards a more equitable society. Alarm bells ring through my head when I witness young mothers proudly exclaiming that their infant will be a heartthrob one day, and of course, he’ll be out late because boys are entitled to do so. Boys aren’t born disrespecting women; it’s’s attitudes like this that encourage them to veer towards it.

Don’t teach your boy that it is acceptable for him to be aggressive if you feel that the same would not be adequate for your daughter. If you have to worry about your daughter being home at a particular time, don’t allow your boys to stay out late, either. If you only have sons, think about the limitations you faced as a girl. You have the power to teach them respect for women by grooming them differently; don’t waste it.

  1. Listen and honor opinions

Children have a great deal to teach us if only we would listen. Actively encourage them to express their opinion and be prepared to honor it even if it differs from yours. This will go a long way in building trust and open communication as they grow older. But, if you disregard their thoughts today, the chances are that they are likely to confide you when they feel troubled later.

It begins with simple things like the colors they would like to see in their room or the clothes they want to wear on a particular day. Opportunities manifest themselves everywhere. For example, if they are uncomfortable only a specific structure of play at the park, then don’t keep on pushing them to go further frequently. Their fears and inhibitions are different from yours.

  1. Build confidence at home

Before your child steps outside, ensure that he or she is confident at home. Let them sit alone for some time, as you observe from a distance. This allows them to explore and gain confidence alone, deciding for themselves if they are ready to walk or still want to crawl. Older children should be familiar with the standard processes of the home, aware of danger zones and comfort zones.

Other confidence-building activities range from participating in daily chores to having their artwork hung in a public area of the house rather than their room. Both of these inculcate a feeling of being on par with other family members. Talking to strangers and socialization is all a part of it, but gaining an equal footing at home is integral to building confidence from the ground up.

  1. Set and respect boundaries

Privacy is an inherent human instinct as profoundly rooted as embarrassment and shame—unfortunately, it emphasizes the latter rather than respecting and setting boundaries around the body or mind. A reason why victim shaming is so prevalent is because of this whole idea of shame rather than limitations. An alternative to the drone of “shame, shame” every time they display reluctance to get dressed is teaching your child privacy and respecting their body at an early age. Remember that they will only be able to appreciate someone else’s privacy when they have an understanding of their own.

Educating your child about privacy begins right when the diaper changes and potty-training are occurring. Whether its bath time or modification time, limit the helpers to one or two people at most. Ideally, don’t change them in front of other children. This teaches them boundaries without much effort. Potty-training children build confidence by slowly letting them sit in the bathroom alone while somebody waits outside. This builds trust, confidence, and an understanding of the bathroom time is private time.

  1. Use social media responsibly

Parents today are far more in tune with the world as it updates than a generation ago. Therefore, parents, they are tasked with enjoying social media and using it wisely. There is nothing wrong with uploading your child’s photo on your private profile if you are comfortable since the audience is limited to your approval. Arguably there is nothing wrong with uploading their picture on a public profile either again. It depends on your comfort level and the critical question: who will view it, and where will it end up? Will your child be offended by this at any point?

Quite apart from the world of Facebook and Instagram is Whatsapp and the family group. This is probably the place where photos that many of us don’t want to share publically end up. It’s been an unfiltered world, and people share it because it’s a family group. Before you share any photos of your child on any platform, including the family group, ask yourself if this were your photo? But, revaluate sharing more than the first bath video.

This is no longer the world of hardbound albums where photos can be destroyed if they hurt sentiments. These photos are permanent in an unfortunate manner, and when we share them with our children a few years later, we set standards of appropriateness in both photography and content that can be shared.

 Holier Than Thou Trolls

Alas, nothing can be done on social media without some trolls popping their heads out. This was a particular category of trolls that is most commonly found in Pakistan. The “Holier Than Thou” trolls who will always point out that you could be doing something better in whatever you’re doing.

No one knows whether the commenter herself is the embodiment of a charitable person, and we also don’t know how much charity Amal gives— hence, no one has a right to comment.

A comment particularly struck Aiman Khan to which she replied. See their exchange here and decide for yourself who was wrong:

The Entitlement To Comment

As we can see what all celebrities go through, it is evident that the public feels they are entitled to comment on the lives of celebrities. After all, they signed up for this. But news flash! No, that is not the case. Sure, Amal and Muneeb signed up for this, but their daughter did not. She’s merely a year old; why is she being dragged into this?

Regardless of that, no parent can ever hear anything negative regarding their child. When will the idea of “live and let live” come in not only us as a nation but also be promulgated on social media?

Aiman Khan was still more excellent than many would be. Kudos to her, and may they have more celebrations in life always!

Make sure that all the fields marked with asterisks are filled. You then need to submit the documents.

Documents Required

You need to arrange the papers. But note that the admission is entirely online, so you will need to make soft copies of all the documents. The soft copy file should not exceed 1MB. Keeping that in mind, let’s list down the documents you will need to gather:

  1. CNIC OR B-Form
  2. Blood Group Card OR Report.
  3. Certificate / Marksheet / Transcript of Matriculation OR O Level OR Equivalent Qualification.
  4. Certificate / Marksheet / Transcript of Intermediate OR A Level OR Equivalent Qualification.

Back to the Application

Once done, apply but with the usual undertaking, you know, taking the vow that all you submit is true. You will be given access to the fee challan. Print it out and submit it. It will cost PKR 6,000, but this amount stands true for 2020, so look up the updated amount. Remember, it’s non-refundable. Anyway, submit the fee.

After that, you will have to prepare an envelope. It will contain the following documents:

  1. One passport size color photograph
  2. Printed Admission Application Form
  3. Hardcopy of all attachments submitted with the online application
  4. Copy of paid Admission Processing Fee Challan

Are you done with assembling the envelope? Send it to IVS via courier. The address is “IVS Campus, ST-33, Block 2, Scheme 5, Clifton, Karachi”.

Documents not available?

Some students might still be waiting for their intermediate or A-level results when the applications for IVS admissions become available. In that case, don’t you worry. Just attach your HSSC Part 1 result or AS level results if you are studying in the Cambridge board. But that option is only available for applicants who have not yet received the product.

One more thing. You have to label the envelope. Once you have applied online, the portal will give you the personalized envelope label. You will have to paste that on the envelope. Don’t send the envelope without this label, or your application won’t be processed.

Once the university has received your documents and the proof of payment, you will receive instructions on the IVS portfolio. What you have in the portfolio is short descriptive answers and also arrange visual projects.

IVS ADMISSIONS PORTFOLIO

The portfolio is significant to get admission at IVS. Its weightage is 50%. Anyway, the portfolio has two parts. In part 1, you have to write answers on a few topics:

  • Commitment and motivation to study in the applied program
  • Passion and drive to achieve their goals in the applied field of study
  • Awareness and reflection about events in the country and beyond
  • Candidates’ involvement outside of school curriculum. Importance of these activities in their life

In part 2, you will have to prove your creativity to the university. Here, you will have to bring in your technical skills and show how you can employ it to visualize your imagination. These technical skills may include drawing, photography, digital media, etc.

So just prepare everything, and if your application is reliable you will get admission there.

half-naked robbers
PC: GEO

We all have seen countless videos, have read many accounts of all kinds of robberies in Pakistan and worldwide.

Usually, the robbers come with an excuse or have information about the household. They find a way inside, loot, and run away.

But, some robbers have a signature trait that makes it impossible to forget them. Similarly, a gang of half-naked men has spread terror in Khushab, Punjab.

The gang looted not one nor two but at least five houses overnight. In a CCTV video, it can be seen that the men are shirtless, which makes it all the more terrifying.

According to reports by the Police, five half-naked dacoits robbed five houses in the city’s Azeem Town, Gulshir Town, Shehzad Town, and Canal Rest House areas last night.

That’s not all, “The gang applied mustard oil on their bodies to evade police arrest.” Moreover, the Police are confident that the robbers will be caught soon.

Here’s the video of the half-naked men that is going viral on social media:

Not too long ago, another unusual gang of robbers became the talk of the town. The slick members used the best weapon to prey on the weakness of their targets. The weapon was none other than a hot plate of Biryani!

That’s right! The robbers pretended to neighbors and brought their targets a hot plate of Biryani to gain access to their homes!

This incident took place in Karachi’s Baloch Colony, where a group of 4 had planned to rob a house.

One of the robbers, who knocked on the door, held a plate of Biryani in his hand. He also impersonated to be one of their neighbors.

The owner took the plate and shut the gate on the robbers. Meanwhile, the knocker signaled his companions.

When the owner opened the gate again to return the plate, the robber tried to enter the house, but the owner closed the door at the right time.

This was fun! Conical hats or Non la are one of the most iconic things from Vietnam. This hat is magic! Wear it during a rainy day and you will know what I’m talking about. That’s why everyone wears them- the farmers, the common folk, tourists, and even foreign dignitaries, because of the historical significance of non la! 👘 from a street shop in Vietnam . . . . #portrait_shot #agameoftones #portraitphotography #vietnamstreetstylegroup #outdoortones #ig_pakistan #discoverglobe #bevisuallyinspired #girlswhotravel #theworldshotz #uniladadventures #hanoi #hanoifood #girlswhotravel #hoianvietnam #hanoivietnam #hanoitravel #hoiancity #pakistanstreetstyle #vietnam2019 #travelphotography #traveldiaries #landscape #tropicals #hoian #dawndotcom #travelblogger #vietnam🇻🇳 #travelblogger #girlsthatwander #danang #hanoi #hanoian

Brand Manager at a leading MNC, the Instagrammer has a penchant for traveling overseas. One look at her account and you’ll realize that she is a passionate global jet setter.

From Portugal, Vietnam, Croatia to Indonesia, Rabia has visited as many as 35 countries independently and makes sure she flaunts it all on her social media.

The globe-trotter believes that traveling has evolved her personality and has made her a better human being.

Travelling has made me a more peaceful person. I have learned to deal with a lot of things in life that I wasn’t able to.

When you travel abroad you miss flights, stay at places you didn’t think you will stay at. You meet different people from different cultures. That teaches you how everyone is different and makes you a better person.

Since Rabia has marked so many international spots on her map, we wondered what is her take on Alex, the American traveler deeming Pakistan as ‘not an easy place to travel to’.

So I feel that no country is an easy country to travel to. I went to Morocco recently, I really struggled with the language . It was a barrier, But even then if you talk about Pakistan, it is an easy place to travel to as people are really friendly here when compared to a lot of other countries.

Travel bloggers and influencers are flocking our cities, their adventures in Pakistan inspiring millions across the world.

However, our local travel bloggers are working equally hard and playing an instrumental role to boost the nation’s global image.

We also asked her the burning question, i.e. what’s her take on local travel influencers missing from the Pakistan Tourism Summit that happened last month.

It is very good that a lot of International bloggers are coming to Pakistan and getting to know Pakistan better. But it is really unfair to Pakistani bloggers who are also doing great work to promote their nation.

She also feels that its the local talent of Pakistan that is more influential when it comes to travel blogging.

Local travel bloggers are making more impact on the tourism scene in Pakistan. International travel bloggers come and go. But local travel bloggers are the ones who are here and are promoting Pakistan more than anybody else.

Because Karachi is home I often forget how beautiful and diverse this city is. There is a wonderful coastal belt on one side and a crazy concrete jungle on the other. 5 Incredible Next Generation Games To Play On PS5!

PS5

The love for PlayStation (PS) began more than a decade ago in my case. I achieved the first position in grade 1, and I received PS1 as a present. And someone who played SuperMario can never forget that feeling. But now, its time for PS5 to wreak havoc on the world. And with these games that you can play on PS5, you can certainly do so.

1. Hogwarts Legacy

Are you a Potterhead? Because if you are, we have good news for you. This game on PS5 is set in the Harry Potter universe. Now, it is way before Voldemort time. Tom Marvolo Riddle or the Potters had not had their showdown yet. Yes, just as you guessed, this is the late 1800s. So the game requires you to make a customized character, and that character has to survive Hogwarts school.

2. Pragmata

Another game released for PlayStation 5 is Pragmata. It was among the final games released at the console design announcement. This game is one of Capcom’s. Considering the developer’s current ongoing projects, Pragmata is a little different. But the introduction of this new world seems excellent.
So let’s see when it finally releases, what new adventures the game has for us. And we are expecting a lot considering the whole Hideo Kojima vibe in the game.

3. Little Devil Inside

The visuals have a Tim Burton inspiration. A young man is on an adventure, and an older man couldn’t be living a more ordinary life. Considering games usually have one primary subject, we are excited to see how the main characters will fit into the game. The game Little Devil Inside is one to wait for in the next few months.

4. Atomic Heart

Mudfish developed Atomic Heart. This game is based in an alternate universe. A universe where the Soviet Union did not break away. The main character is the Soviet government’s special agents. The game is around you figuring out why you failed the mission and why you cant contact your handler or anyone else among your superiors. They are still holding out on the release date.

5. Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

Call of Duty was always something that made your heart race. And now that we have the release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, waiting seems all that harder. The tentative date is November 13, 2020. Treyarch develops the game. They set it as a direct sequel to the original Black Ops. Hence, it takes into account the tense political atmosphere of the ’80s. It will remind you of all the history you have heard, learned, discussed as you hunt down the mysterious “Perseus.”

ps5

Of course, the graphic, the outlook, the overall feel is way different from the original PlayStation. But the effect the original version had on its users, that has remained consistent. And that was made possible by these next-generation games one can play on PS5.

5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Stalking Your Ex On Social Media

stalking your ex

Stalking your ex is fun or not that is beside the point but is it healthy? We don’t believe so. And in this article, we will convince you why it is not healthy. So read through the article and internalize these five reasons why you really should stop stalking your ex on social media.

1. What is he/she doing?

Breakups hurt, and checking up on your ex to see what they are doing is a pretty standard way of dealing with the hurt. The thought in your mind would most definitely be whether your ex-partner misses you or moved on? But you have to remember too much of this ‘stalking’ is not suitable for you. Using social media to find about your ex’s location and seeking them out, there could be toeing the line of the law.

2. Why be sad when you can be happy

When you are stalking your ex on social media, account the primary emotions going through you are the negative ones, like sadness, anger, or even regret. Now, you would say that you just want to remember the happy times, but believe us, thinking about your ex, even about the joyful times, leaves a residual sad feeling. The better thing to do would be to do something constructive. Do something that makes you happy and not alone. And if you are ready for a new relationship, maybe try a dating app.

3. Its time to let go

When something is causing you severe physical torment, what do you do? You distance yourself from it. Now apply that logic to emotional pain; you don’t enjoy it, but it’s there. What you can do to dissipate that pain is stop getting informed about your ex through Instagram or Snapchat. We hope your brain acknowledges this pointer because we know your heart is biased right now. Do the sensible thing and delete him/her from your life.

4. The Humiliation

Picture this, you’re standing somewhere public and scrolling through your ex’s social media account, you turn around and reasonably, they are standing right there, and they’ve already seen what you were doing. Now that could be categorized as a whole new form of embarrassment. Obsessing over them, not just in front of them but also in front of others will make you let’s be real, a bit pitiful. The best way to avoid this kind of humiliation is, DON’T STALK THEM!

5. Misunderstanding

Even during a relationship, your partner’s social media posts might be misleading. For example, he told you he was going to a family dinner, and that night, he uploaded a photo with a girl. Shocking! Right? Not surprising when you find out that girl is his cousin. Now, imagine the vast room for misunderstandings when you two don’t even contact each other anymore. Instead of sizzling in jealousy and curiosity over whether he found someone new, expend that time into something that benefits you.

All in all it hurts you. So stop torturing yourself. And as this one great love guru said,’You can’t move on because you keep thinking what if that was your one true love. He/She was not. If you lost them, they were not!’

Meet The Team Behind The Popular Magazine homelovelifestyle.com

lifestyle

Who doesn’t love looking at beautiful interiors, gorgeous travel pictures, and delicious food? Put all these elements together, add some in-depth interviews, intriguing travel writing, and fun tips and tricks. This is what HomeLoveLifestyle is all about.

This one-of-a-kind in Pakistan web magazine has been serving up all this, and more and their readers and devoted social media followers can’t get enough!

We sat down in conversation with the three dynamic women behind the brand, Naeema Kapadia, Soofia Ishaque, and Zahra Chughtai. We learned how these school friends built up this magazine/digital platform.

How did you 3 come up with the idea?

Zahra: Naeema came up with the idea. She noticed a gap in the market, and there was no magazine focusing solely on interiors and lifestyle in Pakistan of the kind one can find abroad.

Naeema: Yes. Also, having worked extensively abroad, I was painfully aware that there was no medium through which one could showcase interior design from Pakistan. This question was always posed to me. Since I am an interior designer by profession and since Zahra was in journalism and Soofia in advertising, I thought we made an excellent team.

So how did you come up with a name for the venture?

Soofia: Well, at first, we came up with a bunch of suggestions. Some were too difficult to remember; some domains were not available. Finally, we decided to combine three simple and easy to understand words, home, love & lifestyle, into a single entity. It makes sense because there are 3 of us too.

Interior is a field that fascinates many!

Naeema: Yes, as an interior designer, having worked locally and abroad, I find that people are generally very house proud everywhere. They want to create a lovely home or an aesthetically pleasing ambiance and share it with family and friends.
But we expanded our interests to include travel, food, art, etc. anything that enhances one’s lifestyle.

Celebrity homes remain a prevalent feature of your magazine.

Zahra: Oh, yes! People are most interested in celebrities and getting a glimpse into their homes and lives. I must say it has been a rewarding experience for us as well since all the stars we have reached out to have been wonderfully warm and down to earth.
We have interviewed Marina Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Sanam Saeed, HSY, to name just a few!

Travel across Pakistan, and the world is also covered?

Naeema: All three of us are avid travelers, and before we choose any destination, we like to read up on it. That’s why we always have first-hand accounts from travelers on homelovelifestyle.com. So people can read about real holidays & experiences.

Food is also trending these days. So who is the foodie amongst you?

Soofia: I think we all are. (laughs) And since we have all been home more recently, we were cooking and baking more. Most of our recipes are tried and tested family favorites. We love cooking ourselves and sharing our readers’ recipes too.

Homelovelifestyle is also an effective digital platform for advertisers?

Soofia: These days, brands are looking to engage directly with consumers. Since Homelovelifestyle is dedicated to interiors, travel, and lifestyle, brands have the perfect platform to introduce their products. Through our Instagram and Facebook pages, they can interact with a very engaged and design-loving audience.

Is digital the way forward? Isn’t it for brands?

Zahra: Absolutely! Almost all reading and viewing is done on-line now. It’s the place to be. And one has immediate global access. Our magazine has an engaged ex-pat audience as well and is read in 66+ countries and growing.

We have worked with some of the biggest brands in Pakistan as well as upcoming designers & artists. And our focus is always to create content that is both original and engaging.

So the dream is now a reality; how do you all feel?

Naeema: We love every minute of it. It’s also an excellent platform for projecting a very positive image of Pakistan. HomeLoveLifestyle is also a reputable Influencer platform.

Zahra: It’s been an adventure and a steep learning curve. But working with friends hardly seems like work at all.

Soofia: We have got so much love from our readers all across the world that Homelovelifestyle has grown faster even than we dreamt.

So any word of advice for other start-ups or small businesses?

Zahra: Start small but dream big and know your job. Be very well-versed in every aspect of your business.

Naeema: No matter what, be consistent and, at the same time, be ready to evolve with your business.

Soofia: Embrace the adventure, learn to love the detours, and also the unexpected rewards. That way, you can enjoy the journey to success every step of the way!
