What? Apple Didn’t Launch iPhone 12 On 15th September?

iPhone 12 was supposed to launch on 15th September. But after all the wait, when the virtual event happened, Apple did not establish the awaited cellphone. The excited fans were greatly disappointed.

What Happened on the 15th?

The audience did witness the launch of Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch 6, and iPads. What remained absent from iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone Max, an iPhone 12 Pro Max. So basically, the entire iPhone 12 lineup just did not exist. And honestly, while these accessories are all fun, the prominent product people stand in lines for is the iPhone. So no matter how many accessories get released, it does not matter.

When can iPhone 12 release?

The expected time of release for the product will lie somewhere in October, possibly October 13 or something October 14. However, Apple has not released any official statement, either for why iPhone 12 did not launch yesterday or when it will launch.

Now maybe this happened because Apple has a history of releasing their phones around mid-September. But there were almost confirmed rumors (which sounds like an oxymoron) that iPhone 12 was set to release at the given time. Now, who is at fault, one does not know. But it seems like a situation on an entirely new level that an Apple event happens, and the iPhone is not invited.

Guess Game On!

Now even though Apple has not responded, but we are free to guess, right? So according to one such guess by Nikkei Asian Review, a Japanese outlet, that Apple is going to go 5G from mid-September. This implies that products will be out of the pipeline soon. Moreover, while they deal with the rest of their devices, Black Friday will be upon us. So after that, there will be no more significant events to steal iPhone’s limelight. So when they launch, they will do so with the presence Apple is known for. I mean, we would like to add the finger crossed emoji here because it’s 2020, anything can happen.

IPhone 12 = 13th October?

And given that the latter half of October will be occupied with election campaigns, they have to launch it at the end of the first half. Some Apple fans went as far as analyzing that Apple launches events on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So in that order of things, the possible logical dates are 6, 7, 13, 14. That said, we are partial to October 13, and that’s because we are writers too, so we like to bring our element into things. And our feature today being that 12 lineups should be released on 13 to make a statement that iPhone is not stopping anytime soon.

Mercedes-Benz Fined $1.5 Billion For Cheating Emissions Tests

Mercedes Benz Cheating
PC: HD Car Wallpapers

It is not every day you hear that an automotive titan has landed themselves in hot waters. At times there are recalls, other situations, but this time around, Mercedes-Benz has left many in shock.

According to reports, the German automotive subsidiary of Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz has been slapped with a fine. The reason behind the $1.5bn fine is because the brand was caught cheating in emissions tests.

Emissions tests are conducted to make sure vehicles are only producing a certain amount. It has become a protocol for all automotive manufacturers all around the globe.

However, the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency, and the California attorney general’s office said Daimler violated environmental laws. The department has claimed that the brand used a “defeat device software”  to change the test results.

This occurred for the 250,000 vehicles (including cars and vans) that Mercedes-Benz had manufactured throughout 2009-2016. Mercedes-Benz USA has agreed to pay the fine, which includes civil penalties. The approval for Mercedes to fix the already sold cars as per the protocol is currently waiting for approval.

According to the settlement, the brand is responsible for fixing at least 85% of all sold cars within two years, and 85% affected vans within three years. Moreover, the company will be required to issue a warranty to the customers on certain vehicle parts. It will also be required to conduct emissions tests on the repaired vehicles each year for the next five years.

By requiring Daimler to pay a steep penalty, fix its vehicles free of charge, and offset the pollution they caused, today’s settlement again demonstrates our commitment to enforcing our nation’s environmental laws and protecting Americans from air pollution, –Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen

10 Pros & Cons Of Buying An Electric Vehicle In Pakistan

However, Daimler AG has said that the company does not admit any liability, nor will they purchase any of the in question. The brand has not issued any statement as to how it plans on taking action to clean the vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz is not the first automotive manufacturer to have been slapped a fine for cheating. Volkswagen was also accused of wrongdoing and had to pay $2.8 billion as a settlement in a criminal case for cheating emissions tests. On the other hand, Fiat Chrysler is also under investigation.

The state of California will also be receiving a payout of $17.5 million for future environmental projects by Daimler AG as a part of the settlement.

Installing defeat device software on your vehicles to deceive emissions regulators doesn’t qualify as doing more. It just means you’ll pay more in penalties once we catch you. And we will because cheaters really aren’t as smart as they think. -California Attorney General Xavier Becerra

Sadaf Kanwal is known for being bold with haters. She refuses to take the negativity and often strikes it down with a message for haters. The model recently was in the news and has stayed that way ever since Sehroz Sabzwari and Sadaf Kanwal rumors started circulating.

Sadaf-Shehroz-Syra

The news went viral at the close of 2019 that Shehroz Sabzwari might have been cheating on his then-wife with Sadaf Kanwal. The Pakistani population bashed the model/actress more than Shehroz. Shehroz clarified that it was fake news, and he had no relationship with the said individual. A few months later, Syra posted on Instagram about her divorce.

A few more days following that post, Sadaf and Shehroz released their wedding news. And thus began the hatred filled trends against the model turned actress. And the hate never faded away. Even now, Shehroz receives pro-Syra bashes whenever he posts anything on social media, especially with his wife. The same goes for Sadaf Kanwal’s post as well.

Sadaf Kanwal Fame

Now, the model/actress who has been nominated several times for prestigious awards, including the Lux Style and Hum Awards for the best model, refuses to take the hate and ensures that she always responds to haters.

The Recent Video

So this time as well, she responded to the haters in this viral going TikTok video. In the video, she laughingly tells all her haters that they should stop being so negative. She says that they should focus on looking pretty and not focus on hatred.

Saying it in a laughing tone also conveyed to her haters as well as her fans that she does not give any importance to negativity. It does not affect her. And most importantly, she also mentions that all the negative comments are making those commenters ugly.

Have a look at it yourself:

Well, all the bashing for her outfits over the years has undoubtedly prepared her for this. She has dealt with all kinds of haters. From the Islam preaching ones to the body-shamers, Sadaf Kanwal has heard it all. So no matter what the haters say, she will possibly respond to them all the same way.

And on a side note: No matter how much love Pakistanis have for Syra Yusuf, we need to understand that Syra is now divorced. And we also need to accept that Sadaf is Shehroz’s wife. So if they show love for each other and you don’t like that, scroll down. No need for hatred!

The people often prefer the capital because it always has an air of serenity and calmness to it. Islamabad’s breeze is to die for, and so are the scenic spots. Possibly the cleanest city!

But, like all other places, Islamabad has a dark side too. These haunted places in Islamabad are considered to be spooky because of years and years of experience with the paranormal being reported. Don’t go near them at night-time!

1. New Islamabad Airport

As weird as it may sound, the new Islamabad airport is considered to be haunted by many. How can a recently developed, vast, and well-lit place be haunted? Well, because it’s built over an area that used to be a graveyard before (some sources report).

The staff of the airport has reported multiple incidents. They have heard frightening noises and seen shadows of children playing on the runway. Some have also seen deformed figures, which made them faint! Next time you’re there, don’t go anywhere alone and stay in busy areas.

2. Lotus Lake

Situated in Shakarparian, this lake gained popularity for all the wrong reasons. Several murders took place in the area, and legend has it that the murderer left the bodies by the lake. Could it be black magic or a sacrifice made for a cult? We may never know.

But, what we do know is that many have reported the sighting of figures, whispers, and screams there at night. The place is gorgeous but, over time, has become barren and uprooted. Now, it looks like a lake from any horror movie.

3. Buddhist Graveyard

An ancient Buddhist graveyard is located in Sector F7 of Islamabad. It is notorious for its paranormal activities and supernatural sightings. People passing by having heard strange voices, cries, and footsteps in the area at night. The guards of the area report that the area is full of supernatural entities.

4. Shah Allah Ditta Caves

Anyone who knows even a little about Islamabad knows about these caves. Legend has it that these caves are over 700 years old, which automatically makes you want to stay away. Who even knows what is inside the dark depths of a cave?

The whole area will make your skin crawl because old trees and even older caves occupy it. People have heard noises in the caves at night as if lots of people are talking to each other. The residents of the area have also seen dark shadows at night.

So, if you’re itching to be spooked, it’s best to go in the day and with some company.

Kachnar Park is also famous for being possessed by the supernatural. Many try to challenge the rumors about the park, but many have witnessed paranormal activities. Officials have also never carried out investigations over the incidents, which only reinforces these beliefs.

Maria Saeed- First Pakistani Female Student At Royal College of Defence Studies

Maria Saeed

Maria Saeed is the latest woman from Pakistan who’s making her country proud and making strides internationally. Please keep reading to find out what she’s the first to achieve!

Royal College of Defence Studies

The Royal College of Defence Studies churns out the most competent officers in the British Armed Forces. The school instructs the most promising senior officers of the British Armed Forces Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service and Civil Service in national defense and international security matters at the highest level. The students are prepared for the top posts in their respective services.

Maria Saeed has become the first Pakistani female to have become a part of this esteemed institution.

Meet Maria Saeed!

Shown in the picture is Saeed standing alongside some – we believe – heads at the institution.

All in all, it is a moment of honor to get to this place and be the first woman to do so.

A Two-fold Achievement

What’s more, it is beyond incredible to see a woman make her name in the most heavily male-dominated. Despite most countries being liberal and not making gender an obstacle in applications, being a part of the Armed Forces is generally looked down upon for women. Here’s to Maria, who is defying odds and gender roles while achieving great things. We’re hoping once she’s through with this course, she has only success awaiting her.

An Uncomfortable Truth

While we are proud of Maria and her achievement, it’s safe to say our country has no right to claim her success. It’s unclear whether we have the right to add “Pakistani” before her name. Why? Because of all, that’s going on in Pakistan against women right now.

The situation is such that women and allies have to protest repeatedly. They have to protest to claim their right to exist and protect their body. This is a country where the officer investigating a rape case says the woman was at fault. Do we have any right to say we contributed towards the success of a woman making her way in British Armed Forces?

The uncomfortable truth is, Maria Saeed and the likes of her are who they are because they are not in Pakistan.

Moreover, consider Nargis Mavalvala, the first female astrophysicist to become the dean at a prestigious school. She would not be in this position if she were residing here.

All in all, while we commend these women, we must acknowledge their sacrifices.

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN
Source: Pinterest

The internet is a dual-edged sword having numerous pros and cons. Although it has conveniently made our lives easier, it has also exposed us to several threats where a breach of privacy tops the list. However, using a virtual private network (VPN) can help solve this problem to some extent.

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN

Here’s why you should be using a virtual private network (VPN):

1. To Ensure Confidentiality

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN
Source: BT.com

VPN services provide a client app that can be used to choose a server of your choice. Using a virtual private network helps ensure privacy and keep all your online activities extraordinarily private and confidential. Your online activities will be encrypted, given that the VPN app is connected to the server.

2. To Keep Away From Online Tracking

Have you ever noticed that while looking for something to buy online, every other website that you visit starts showing ads for similar products? Although it might make it convenient for you to search for your desired outcome, however, it is very creepy at the same time.

It happens because websites keep track of users, and advertisements are directed towards potential customers through their IP (internet protocol) addresses. Is this not annoyingly creepy? Anyhow, in such cases, a virtual private network comes to our rescue by keeping our original IP address hidden.

3. To Guarantee Absolute Privacy

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN
Source: Channel News

Don’t you hate being overheard? Do you know that your online conversations can be overheard too? Although some apps like WhatsApp have inbuilt encryption, several apps don’t. UGH! This is a fundamental breach of privacy, no? Anyhow, the next time you use Skype, Google Hangouts Chat, etc., make sure to use a VPN so that your conversation remains only between you and the person you are talking to.

4. To Use Public Wi-Fi Without Any Fear

4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using A VPN
Source: AARP

Using public Wi-Fi is extremely risky. Data sent over an open Wi-Fi can be interrupted and is always at a risk of being snooped and spied on by anyone using the same Wi-Fi. Our devices also become susceptible to getting hacked, and hackers can very conveniently gain access to our personal information and accounts in a split second. However, enabling a VPN helps create a private route to send your data across, making the usage of public Wi-Fi safe.

If you want to keep your privacy and safety intact and not get tracked online, you should use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Is using a virtual private network useful? Does it really protect our online privacy? What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below!

AKU Admission 2020: Everything You Need To Know!

AKU
Image Source: The Aga Khan University

Now that we have so many fields that we can pursue, but if there are still people opting for medical, then they like it. If not that, then they are indeed getting emotionally blackmailed. Too close to heart? Sorry. Anyway, if you chose medical, you would have added Aga Khan University (AKU) to the potential list.

Choosing AKU

So if you want to enroll in Aga Khan, here is a list of pointers you need to know to complete your admission process. And trust me, if you take them into account the whole time, the process will be as easy as pie.

So here we are on a fine day standing in front of AKU, well, virtually. The idea is to gather all the information for you when we hear or instead read the words, ‘transparent merit-based admissions processes.’ It brings a smile to our face. Because what do we love more than chai? A transparent system!

AKU
Image Source: The Aga Khan University

Some General Criteria

And who would not? If our audience is getting admission in a field they love, at the university they love, we would happily endorse that. Coming back to the topic. We were discussing the admission process. The process is merit-based and varies according to programs. But let’s pay attention to the standard criteria/requirements.

It would help if you had fluent English, written and oral, to get past the coursework. So you cannot compromise on that. You also need a spectacular past academic performance. Critical reasoning and leadership potential are also crucial if you are opting for AKU. Well, technically, these skills are essential anywhere you go, so it does not have to be limited to this university, but since they announced it, we mentioned it.

Eligibility

Do you have all these in check? Perfect. Let’s move on!

The next step is to apply. I mean, that goes without saying. Pay attention to the eligibility requirements mentioned there.

Let’s list them down:

  • HSSC in the pre-medical group must have a minimum of 70%
  • O-Level with at least six subjects including English, biology, chemistry, and physic and HSSC of minimum 70%
  • O-Level with at least six subjects, including English, biology, chemistry, and physics and A-Level with a minimum B grade in three subjects, including biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • PMDC minimum requirement 550 for each subject (do check the website for the updated criterion).

The Actual Process

Once you clear that step, you will be invited for a test. If you submit an equivalent test score such as SAT I or MCAT, you don’t have to sit for the examination.

The next stage in the process interviews. Now, this is important. There will be two interviews that all shortlisted candidates will have to attend. They will also have to submit one more form; it’s called application form II. Here you can delve into detail about your academic achievements, interests, extra-curricular, etc. At this stage, you will also add two reference letters but remember they will have to follow a specified format.

Not to forget, the candidates will have to submit their PMDC results. Don’t delay submitting, or you may lose the chance to study in one of the glorified medical institutes.

All these submissions, tests, and interviews, will help the examiners prepare a comprehensive report on each candidate. So be diligent and best of luck.

KIA Sorento Price In Pakistan, Specifications, Features & More

KIA Sorento
PC: US News

Excitement has captured all automotive fanatics as several automotive brands have announced to introduce new variants in the market. Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, everyone is coming up with something.

Today, we will be talking about one of the newer automotive brands that have seem to win over the hearts of consumers, KIA. Not too long ago, KIA officially announced the coming of its internationally famous variants, Sportage and Picanto.

Now, in a report shared by Business Recorder, it has been claimed that the brand is now ready to bring more SUVs into the market and that the KIA Sorento is one of them.

KIA Sorento Specifications

To sum it up, in a nutshell, the Sorento is a 7-seater SUV, which is a direct competitor to Toyota Fortuner and even Toyota Corolla Cross SUV. This is one of the reasons why it has created excitement in the local market.

The Sorento is currently in its 4th generation and is only being manufactured in Korea and the United States. According to the reports, KIA will bring the 4th gen SUV to Pakistan after evaluating which timeframe would be perfect.

However, it is more likely that KIA introduces the 3rd gen Sorento in Pakistan. If so, it is highly likely that it will be offered in 6 different variants, the 3LV6, 5LV6, 4L MPI, 2L Turbo GDI, 2L Diesel, and 2L Diesel with 6-speed automatic transmission. It comes in both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) categories and comes equipped with the Dynamax AWD system.

KIA Cerato To Launch In Pakistan By Year End: Reports

KIA Sorento Features

It also comes equipped with several features including:

  • LED taillights
  • A silver lining on the doors
  • Classy tiger-nose grill
  • Steering wheel controls
  • Cell phone connectivity
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • 7″ or 8″ infotainment
  • Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
  • Cruise control
  • Rain sensor
  • Power-folding side-view mirrors
  • ABS
  • Downhill assists
  • Hill-start assist control
  • Toyota Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
  • Frontal airbags

KIA Sorento Price In Pakistan (Expected)

Given that the Sorento has many unique features to offer and that the variant will be imported in Pakistan, the expected price for the SUV will be around PKR 7 Million. Not to forget that if it needs to give fierce competition to the likes of Fortuner and Cross SUV, the price-range will make a huge difference.

Although the manufacturer has not officially announced it, the reports indicate that KIA is selling a good number of 1200 units of the Sportage every month. This means, on average, the plant is producing an average of 60 units a day.

What is even more interesting is that Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) can produce 76 units a day, and Toyota is one of the biggest holders of the automotive market.

Now that the Sportage is doing reasonably well, and Sorento on the way, we can’t wait to see what KIA surprises its customers and us with next.

Until then, stay tuned to Brandsynario for more news and updates.

KIA Motors To Bring New Models In The Market By 2021

Al-Haj Will Be Launching Proton’s Saga Sedan & X70 SUV In Pakistan

saga sedan

Al-Haj has partnered with Proton, a Malaysian auto giant. And they will now be launching some of their products in Pakistan. The two products are Saga Sedan and X70 SUV.

PM Imran Khan had received X70 SUV as a gift earlier from Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad. The same car is launching at the end of December this year.

A spokesperson of the company confirmed the news for all the auto lovers. He said that it is indeed happening. Moreover, they won’t be stopping at just that. Instead, they are planning even to assemble these vehicles within Pakistan. The idea is for Proton to compete with Hyundai and KIA by offering more features at lesser prices.

The Saga Sedan

Proton is launching Saga Sedan. Why saga? Well, its because the sedan is now in its 4th generation, so it has a sequel kind of vibe to it. The sedan has a 1.3 liter aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine. Furthermore, it has 94 horsepower, 5-speed manual or a 4-speed CVT automatic transmission, and not to forget a 120 newton/meters of torque.

Alongside all this, Sedan is also offering features such as airbags, crash sensors, parking sensors, and ABS brakes. The buyer will also get power-operated door locks, power windows, aux, USB, a basic audio system with radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Proton’s X70

The second car is called X70 SUV. This one has 182 horsepower, a 6-speed automatic or a 7-speed DCT gearbox, and 285 newton/meters of torque and is powered just like X70 by a 4-cylinder petrol engine, which is 1.8 liters turbocharged. Good news for car lovers; the car will be available in all-wheel drive as well as front-wheel form.

It will also have an air purifier, automatic dual-zone climate control, rear air vents, steering wheel switches, and telescopic adjustment. X70 also plans to offer an LCD information screen, a push-start button, central door locking with auto-lock, among other features. These features, all together, will put Proton’s X70 in direct competition with Hyundai Tucson and KIA’s Sportage.

Saga Sedan

As someone obsessed with Pakistan’s economy and knowing about the currency value, you will learn how important it is for the car to be assembled in Pakistan. If a car is assembled locally, the cost goes way down. And it allows the company to charge the consumers even lesser. Since Proton is already launching both vehicles at low prices, they would already be making their consumer base. Coupled with lower costs by just next year, they are all set to wreak havoc over their competitors.

#ChemicalCastrationForRapists Trends As Pakistanis Demand Justice

Pakistanis demand justice

With the Lahore Motorway incident going viral and the whole of Pakistan is tuning into what the result of the whole fiasco is going to be. Many rumors circulated as to who could be the criminal and whether the issue is being propagated to undermine some other problem or not. But at the end of the day, Pakistanis demand justice for the gang-rape victim.

Punishment Suggestions

There were several suggestions on how to serve justice appropriately. In those suggestions, the top two were public hanging and castration. The former was being suggested because of the idea that a woman’s life ends when an incident like this occurs. The suggestion of castration was relevant because an immediate death would not be painful to the rapist; rather, it would be a sharp relief.

Twitter trends with #ChemicalCastrationForRapists

Following these suggestions, twitter overflowed with the hashtag of #ChemicalCastrationForRapists. People wanted these culprits to suffer each moment. The idea was that the offenders need to be ‘tamed’ so the Pakistani women and children feel safe.

The civilian mafia said:

“There is genuinely no other option. We need to protect our women, children at all costs. These animals need taming. Take away their ability to commit such heinous crimes. Let them live the rest of their lives in shame.”

Some suggested that it should not even be done chemically. For such a heinous crime, we should go back to the old ways and do it in a way to make them experience the pain the victim experienced.

Taking the opportunity, some Pakistanis raised the issue of Pedophilia as well. They suggested that the same punishment should be carried out on pedophiles too.

The PM Addresses

Pakistanis were demanding justice from the police as well as the Prime Minister. Their calls were answered when after a period of silence and announcing that the victim-blaming CCPO will not be laid off, the PM returned to the limelight.

Imran Khan discussed his suggested punishment for the culprits. Much to his voters’ happiness, the PM said he believed in the chemical castration of rapers. He said that we need to categorize this offense systematically. So, for instance, there are first, second, third-degree murders. Similarly, we should order this offense as well. Then, the first-degree rapist should be chemically castrated so that they become useless.

While Pakistanis demand justice, PM has presented the bill. We will have to wait and see if it gets approved. Maybe then it will scare some of the potential criminals. And perhaps then, the women will be able to roam the streets freely.

Personal Reflection: Is 18 A Marriageable Age?

Marriageable Age

In his attempt to convince me to get married, my dad started telling me how our religion advocates girls’ marriage at the age of 9. With historical references at his disposal, this was no light morning conversation as the car sped through Shahrah-e-Faisal. I became quiet but with the firm belief to return to the conversation laden with references myself because what is marriageable age; who is a child; what is childhood; if not subjective?

Comparing the past with the present

I told myself that I could not deny history and belief. What happened, did indeed happen. So what changed? Why is the 21st century so different from the 7th century that the mere idea of getting married by 9 does not sit right with me? Thus, I proceeded to investigate further what happened in the past 14 centuries. Or, what did not, for that matter.

It was not just the Islamic history that witnessed girls being married at the ages of 7 and 9. But in the West as well, we see that historically, girls would get married the moment they would reach their childbearing ages. But now, even though the legal age for marriage is 18, that too seems too young for a girl to be married. Doesn’t it? So let’s explore it together.

Childhood

Childhood? What is that?

The West in the 17th and 18th centuries witnessed an Enlightenment thinker by the name of John Locke. He introduced the concept of childhood, saying that people of young ages are children. Up until then, they were treated as mini-adults. They would work as employees in mines, and basically, they would do all the tasks expected of an ordinary adult these days.

With the introduction of the concept of childhood, society started becoming accustomed to the idea of it. From then on, we started seeing schools emerge. The notion of playgrounds also materialized through these schools.

childhood

What Ensued Right After?

What ensued? Nothing! We accepted it. Be it due to colonialization or something else; the whole world accepted this new notion. We decided that we will treat individuals below 18 as children. And we continued in that trajectory so much so that the children accepted their role as children as well. Being treated this way for centuries now, even 18-year-olds have the mentality of children. We don’t consider someone an adult until they have done their undergraduate.

So how is it that I would accept the idea of getting married at an age I would attribute to childhood? And how is it that our previous generation is still endorsing a practice that was common before the introduction of a phenomenon? Shouldn’t we have adapted to it as well? Shouldn’t our parents adapt to it too? Shouldn’t we look at our present in light of not just history when it suits ourselves but with an interdisciplinary lens? A lens curated by being aware of history, religion, as well as anthropology? How is the age of 9 still a marriageable age then? How is 18, even a marriageable age?

4 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Mislead Your Customers

mislead customers

False advertisements are standard all around the world, but the trend seems to be significantly concentrated in Pakistan. You’ll find this practice in almost every industry where what will be advertised will be far from the truth. We all know the meme “ what you order online vs. what you get”!

How Do Companies Mislead Customers?

Customers are misled when companies indulge in false advertising. For example, let’s talk about clothes. When a campaign is shot, the environment is hugely controlled, which means the lights, the background, the stitching is all perfect. However, when you get the unstitched material, it’s not what it was in the picture.

Most companies have taglines that guarantee the quality, durability, etc. but it’s all a sham. So why should you not mislead?

1. The Effect On Customers

Anyone who’s coming to buy your products is using their hard-earned money to get whatever you’re selling. While many will be doing irrational buying, there will be more who would not be. They would have thought about your product, made some decisions relating to it, and then purchased it.

When you defraud them, you ruin their mood and hurt their feelings. Once they get a product they needed but it does not last, it will be double expenditure for them. Don’t be this crass; the world is already a terrible place.

2. The Effect On Your Company

You might be thinking, eh, I can risk a few tears for profit. But news flash, the effect on your customers will backfire and hurt your company. One customer can stay quiet, two can stay quiet, but three won’t.

They can either start badmouthing your company on social media or through word of mouth, both of which will make you lose customers. Or, they can take you to court! This latter option might result in hefty fines, a cease and desist order, financial loss, and the loss of your already existing customers too.

You aren’t untouchable; the sooner you start acknowledging that, the better!

3. The Effect on Employees

Employees usually know everything is going on inside the company even if they are not responsible for it. Gossip is as much a thing in offices as it is in schools! However, once they’re aware that the company they’re working for is a fraud, they can avail of two options.

Firstly, they could either rat you out for something in return. Secondly, they could start emulating your very own ethics under your nose. Is that the culture you’re hoping to create?

4. The Effect on Competition

All these effects are like a domino effect. Overall, your reputation will be going down the drain, and word will be out that so and so the company is drowning. This will be the perfect time for them to snatch your business from you before you know it!

Free-Education – Haleeb Foods Enlightening The Underprivileged Street Children

Education is the key to socio-economic well-being in the modern world. It promises access to more opportunities, and for most of the underprivileged people, it is the only way to elevate their quality of life. Countries where sufficient resources are allocated towards educating their population have broken the shackles of poverty and are on their way to progress within a couple of decades. Literacy gains critical importance in under-developed nations that need to nurture a globally informed and competitive workforce for a brighter future.

Pakistan being a developing country, faces low literacy, where the government tries to fulfill the educational requirements of unplanned population-growth in certain areas. However, Pakistan will need some quick, out-of-the-box solutions and innovative measures to educate every child; otherwise, its next generations will not be competitive in this fast-paced world. In such circumstances, the nation’s creative corporate sector must contribute towards more academic communities to uplift the whole society and build a sustainable economy. In short, the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model is the only solution.

Many individuals and enterprises in the country are trying to play their roles to educate a large number of deprived children. One exemplary effort in this regard is being made Haleeb Foods (HFL), one of the pioneer dairy and beverage companies of Pakistan. A belief that; Education is the fundamental right of every child has led to this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, titled: “Donate to Educate – Agay Barhay Ga Pakistan.” Being a Pakistani company at heart, Haleeb Food is extending valuable support to provide Free-of-cost education for the underprivileged children.

free education haleeb

As part of this initiative, Haleeb Foods Limited (HFL) has partnered with Master Ayub – a firefighter during the day, who has taken the noble responsibility of being a voluntary teacher in the evening. For the past 30 years, Master Ayub has been educating street kids, Free of Cost, by conducting a Park-School, in Islamabad.

With a pledge to support his selfless cause, HFL is donating 3 Rupees from every liter-pack purchased by the consumers. This donation is helping Master Ayub meet the school’s expenses and accomplish his dream of enriching his pupils’ lives with absolutely free schooling. The sincere efforts of this school’s founder are an inspiration for everyone to follow.

This philanthropic institution has already helped in teaching thousands of children voluntarily. All the resourceful individuals and enterprises must identify such ‘Heroes of Pakistan’ and help them to bring an educational-revolution, to enrich the lives of the street children, their families, and the whole country.

Belonging to a low-income family, Master Ayub lost his parents at a young age. However, he worked very hard, day & night, to study along with the responsibility of rearing his five brothers and three sisters who are all well-educated now. With his limited resources, he has created this free-school for poor children, where he also gives them free books and copies. Over the decades, thousands of street-children have already studied in this school to get into respectable employment or businesses, while others are getting higher education in colleges or universities.

The students and their parents express their gratitude and prayers for Master Ayub, who has brought their lives out of the darkness of illiteracy. They believe that; Haleeb kay Saath – Agay Barhay Ga Pakistan, as many of these students are inspired to follow their great teacher’s foot-steps, to establish free schools in the future.

HFL is adopting global best-practices and innovative technologies to ensure high productivity and nation-wide availability of safe and healthy, packaged dairy-products. It is creating public-awareness and educating the masses about the advantages of consuming hygienic and high-quality, nutritional dairy products to nurture a more vital and prolific nation. Being the 3rd largest milk-producing nation in the world – Pakistan’s Dairy Industry is already creating large-scale employment opportunities for the farmers in the rural regions while ensuring the well-being of the urban areas.

Noor Khadija: First Female Head Of South Waziristan’s Education Department

Noor Khadija

Every day we hear about amazing people doing extraordinary things! From establishing a million-dollar startup to making discoveries in science, and much more. Today, another name has been added to the list.

For the first time in history, the South Waziristan district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province has taken a woman on board as the head of the Education Department.

Moreover, you’d be surprised to know that this region is known to have the lowest female literacy rate in the country. The head of the Education Department, Noor Khadija, comes from a family of educators.

While speaking to a local media outlet, the marvelous lady shared:

It was my long-standing desire to serve my community, specifically girls, to remove obstacles in the way of their education.

As a woman, Fatima Jinnah proved that women could make a difference and play a decisive role to lead society for positive change.

She continued to add:

I will strive to provide girls schools with all missing facilities, to empower girls through education, which is of paramount importance for a vibrant society,

LSE Admission 2020: Everything You Need To Know!

Literacy Rate In Pakistan

According to a report by H.Plecher in Jul. 2020, The literacy rate measures the percentage of people aged 15 and above who can read and write. In 2017, Pakistan’s total literacy rate was around 59%, with less than 47% of women being literate and more than 71% of men.

He added that there was a dire need for the women of the country to receive an education. Over the years, the rate of female literacy in Pakistan has risen. In 2008 there were approximately 46.51 million educated women, whereas, in 2014, the total was 51.64 million.

It is essential to add here that although education for both genders is not prohibited in Pakistan, women are generally not as well educated as men. There are still hundreds of millions of mindsets that believe that a girl’s place is in the kitchen and not an office. It is also a widespread misperception that if a girl is educated, she will go against her husband and family, which in society is unacceptable.

But, it’s not just the women who face hardship when it comes to receiving education, its also men and the transgender community as well. In several households, families do not consider education important for men as their gender allows them to survive on any job and do whatever it takes to bring bread on the table.

Whereas the transgender community has still not been whole-heartedly accepted across the country, making it hard for them to receive a formal education. They are often kicked out of their own homes and are sent away to live with ‘their kind.’

However, as more awareness spreads and the youth support grows, we are optimistic that the current situation will turn around. Soon the literacy rate in Pakistan for men, women, children will be higher than it is today.
