5 South Korean Shows That Are Better Than Pakistani Dramas!

south korean shows

You will find people all over the world swept by the Korean Wave. Simply put, the Korean wave is the global popularity of South Korea’s pop culture, entertainment, music, TV dramas, and movies. Most people believe that the Korean wave only refers to Kpop, the music, and the songs of the country but is also includes South Korean Shows.

And I believe that Pakistanis have had it with all the saas-bahu dramas, and they should also give South Korean shows a chance.

1. Descendants of the Sun

Pakistani’s would surely love a romance drama with medical and military elements both. Yoo Shi Jin, the main lead, is a captain in the South Korean army’s Special Forces. In contrast, the female information, Kang Mo Yeon, is a hardworking surgeon studying to become a professor but unfortunately lacked the connections.

An army man and a female doctor, this is like the dream couple of the aunties all over Pakistan. The second lead couple’s story also didn’t disappoint. Seo Dae Young, an ordinary sergeant major, fell for the unattainable Lieutenant Kim Myeong Ju, an army doctor, a daughter of a favorably positioned army man. Watch the drama to see how both couples deal with the obstacles they face in love as well as the profession.

2. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

This one is set in the time of the Goryeo Dynasty back when Korea was called Goryeo. The drama follows the story of the 4th Prince, Wang So, abandoned by his mother, the Queen, because of the scar on his face. And it also features the 8th Prince, Wook, the kind-hearted prince who helps the female lead deal with the problems she faces.

The female lead Go Ha Jin, a young woman of 21st century Korea, travels back in time when she drowns during a solar eclipse. She lands in the body of a young girl Hae Soo. From there, the drama follows the female lead as she struggles to navigate her way through a time that doesn’t resemble hers even a bit. Watch the drama to see a story full of intrigue, thrill, pain, tragedy, and a heart-wrenching love triangle. A historical drama full of politics and action, the Pakistanis who watched Ertrugul will be hooked on this one.

3. Healer

We Pakistanis will never get tired of watching action stuff. Healer is about Seo Jung Hoo, an orphan who works as a night errand boy. The female lead Chae Young Shin is a reporter working on a failing news website.

Both the leads meet when Jung Hoo starts working alongside Young Shin under the alias of Park Bong Soo as he does for someone to discover Young Shin’s real identity. The drama also has the intriguing back story of how both leads ended up as orphans. The information is perfect for Pakistanis, who love to watch romance and scheming side by side.

4. Let’s Fight Ghost

Be honest, we all secretly love the horror genre even when we are watching it through the gaps between our fingers. The drama is about when a ghost of a high school girl Kim Hyun Ji starts to follow a college student Park Bong Pal around.

Park Bong Pal helps Kim Hyun Ji figure out why even though she is dead, she has not ascended yet. They try to fulfill any regrets she had to help the moving on the go faster. As always, a Korean drama would never be complete without romance; this drama should be on your need to watch list if you love horror, fantasy, and intensely complex dramas.

5. School 2013

Now, for the drama with the theme of high school, Pakistani teenagers love to watch high school dramas like Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why. School 2013 is part of a whole series of dramas that focus mainly on high school teenagers and the problems they face. In the 2013 installation of the School series, the story revolves around two teenage boys who meet and try to become friends again.

Go Nam Soon is a teenager not particularly interested in anything, and the reason is something you will learn later on in the drama. Park Heung Soo transfers to Nam Soon’s high school and, from then on, ensues a mental battle between the two for understanding and forgiveness. That’s enough spoilers; if you want to find out what happens, do check it out. Of course, both actors being otherworldly handsome is a bonus for anyone thinking to try it out.

South Korean Shows

We have listed these 5 South Korean Shows after proper brainstorming. So give all of them a chance. All of them belong to different categories, so it’s possible that one of them hit the right nerve. Although if it were up to me, I’d say you’d love all of them.

5 Medical Myths About Ageing You Need To Stop Believing In!

Myths About Ageing

The older years of one’s life are riddled with unique challenges of its own. But as your hair starts greying and you feel like a senior citizen, you don’t need false myths to make you scared. Here are five myths that are just that— myths!

1. Everyone Inevitably Gets Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is characterized by fragile bones that are porous and have a low density. It is a common condition as people age and most prevalent in women. Osteoporosis is also associated with an increased risk of fractures, but to say every person will eventually experience it is incorrect.

Myths About Ageing

This condition is mostly preventable and can often be reduced or eliminated by following healthy lifestyle guidelines. Get your calcium fix today!

2. Humpty Dumpty Keeps Having A Fall

Most people tend to think falling is a regular part of growing older. But in reality, most falls can be prevented, and adults can do their part to reduce it.  Older adults can start by consistently exercising, managing medications, getting regular vision checks, and making their living spaces safer. You’ll be alright.

3. Everyone Gets Arthritis

Again, this is a myth considering that people in their 20s and 30s can get arthritis. This condition is not exclusive to aging. Arthritis is the general term for inflammation of the joints, which commonly occurs in the hips, knees, and spine.

Myths About Ageing

Wear and tear of joints and ligaments is a common side effect of growing older, but it does not mean conditions like arthritis are inevitable. But this also does not mean that you skip that walk or workout session not to have your joints moving!

4. Memory Loss

Blood flow to some parts of the brain, including the frontal cortex and the medial temporal area, decreases as we age. It can somewhat diminish our ability to organize or plan events and make new memories, according to the American Psychological Association.

Myths About Ageing

However, our semantic memory—procedural knowledge like how to ride a bike and remember facts—usually remains strong. It is perfectly alright if you forget where you put something or where you parked your car.

5. You Don’t Need to Socialize

People think that as you age, you want to sit at home and enjoy yourself. But that is far from the truth and also extremely unhealthy. Of course, the types of activities you’ll be able to indulge in will be different, but going out and socializing should still be one of your goals. Older people still wish and need to socialize for better health

A great way to do this is by having meal time with loved ones, whether it’s family or friends, so they can feel happier in their network and enjoy their food more, too.

As mentioned above, compared to the other Fortuner trims, the TRD has received a few cosmetic upgrades like a facelift trim usually does.

With the TRD, you’ll see the new front and back spoilers, power rear door button, and 18-in alloy rims. More or less, the other specifications of the SUV are the same as the different existing variants in the market.

Whereas, when it comes to the interior, the TRD comes with several features including:

  • Old-style analog meters
  • Dual-zone auto AC
  • Sunglasses holder and
  • Smart entry and smart system

To make the TRD stand out and look more appealing to consumers, Toyota has introduced leather seats with the variant.

Furthermore, the titan has also introduced a comprehensive cooling storage system in the dashboard for long journeys.

10 Pros & Cons Of Buying An Electric Vehicle In Pakistan

Safety Features

When it comes to safety features, IMC has given the TRD the same ones as the other Fortuner variants. These features include the dual SRS airbags for both the passenger as well as the driver, Vehicle Stability Control, EBS Emergency Brake Signal, and Hill Assistant Control have been equipped in the vehicle as well.

Toyota Fortuner TRD Price In Pakistan

What has been the most exciting discovery here is that Toyota has included the TRD in its pricing list since April 2020. According to the official notification, the automotive giant has set a price of PKR 9.39 million (ex-factory price) in Pakistan.

Although Toyota has launched the TRD, the company has not rolled out any details yet for its booking process at the moment. Moreover, ‘sources’ have shared that dealerships were also unaware that IMC had plans to launch the TRD variant in Pakistan, which usually doesn’t happen.

The introduction of the TRD can hint to the upcoming of a facelift variant down the line. Earlier, the company introduced the standard and Fortuner Legender variants in Thailand.

We have yet to see what Toyota has planned for the automotive market in Pakistan.

Till then, stay tuned to Brandsynario for more news and updates.

5 Tips To Help You Save Money On Your Car Expenses!

5 Apps Every University-Going Student Should Have On Their Phone

University time is very problematic. People think that once you get to university, you have all the parties. But really, the university is all about stressing over your GPA. And even all the so-called partied, the events are attended for the sake of building portfolios. But if you are a university-going student, make your life easier by having these types of apps on your phone.

1. Lecture Capture Apps

Technology has saved so many students from noting the lecture hastily, as they tried not to miss any key points, but that was still a little pointless. Since they might get lost and not hear some details. The lecture recording app had a heroic entry for the students as they can listen easily, and if need, an option of rewinding was helpful. It also avoids you to spend extra cash.
SoundNote (iOS), Audios Memos Free – The Voice Recorder (iOS), Notes Plus (iOS), and Office Lens serve an example of the lecture capture apps. iPad users prefer SoundNote (iOS); it can record the entire lecture and act as a scratchpad. Office Lens can take a photo of a whiteboard and convert it into a PDF file.

2. Study Planner Apps

Students have been used to parents/ teachers reminding them to study. When they move on to the next level, parents think they know how to be disciplined. But no, many want that, but they don’t ask, which is good. Be independent. Here study planner apps can aid you by alerting and reminding you what you have to design. Three apps are perfect examples of study planning, Timetable (Android), Class Schedule (Android), and Class Timetable (iOS).

3. Bibliography Apps

Become a university going student, and you will be bombarded with research papers every week. You will then realize what pain it is to cite. You mess up one time, and the professor will dedicate one whole lecture to how irresponsible we are. Having been through that, we recommend downloading Bibliography Apps. The best in the category is EasyBib.

EasyBib offers the facility of scanning the barcode. Scan the barcode of any book, and it generates the reference in whatever format you want. And I say this because sometimes your teachers want to torture you. Some want a paper cited in MLA, while others wish to Harvard format.

4. Revision Apps

Revising was never fun. But once again, technology saved the day! Apps to make revision fun are here. For instance, take StudyBlue. It analyses your course information and creates flashcards, not the boring ones. Also, Exam Countdown (iOS), like its name it keeps a countdown till the day of your exam. Don’t forget GoConqr; it can let you have group study online, you can make notes, charts, flashcards and ace its quizzes.

5. Fitness Apps

Do you find exercise tiring? Well, of course, it is supposed to be tiring, but what if we add spices to it? Take ‘Zombies, Run!’ this app is hilarious and terrifying as if there was an apocalypse, and you need to survive. Although if you are a scaredy-cat, try Nike Training Club (iOS), Sworkit, Fitbit (iOS), JeFit, RunKeeper, Strava, 7 Minute Workout, and MapMyFitness. If you get very passionate and download every app mentioned above, Nudge can assemble all that data like your nourishment, naps, hydration, and workout, so you don’t need to go every app to check your growth.

It does not mean that you can stop studying once you download these apps. It would help if you always focused on your studies. We have assembled this list just so that you could let go of some of that stress and have a bit of fun in life. You got to the university; you deserve it. Becoming a university-going student does not mean you forget yourself.

Pakistan’s Biggest Detective Series Is About To Hit Your Screens

Detective Series

Childhood was never complete without Ishtiaq Ahmed Series. Novel series by him were incredibly famous. The generation before us especially was hooked to it. I remember my mom going into a trance when talking about Kamran Series. She says, “It was the one series she followed almost religiously.” This Detective Series is about to hit the screens.

I can be more than 100% sure that all those familiar with the novel series would be very excited about this news. So a little about how it is all coming to fruition. The director Fahad Noor has taken up author Ishtiaq Ahmed’s masterpieces and is remediating the novels into the upcoming series. Creatorsone, the platform for independent creators, is being credited for this venture.

The Creators

C1 Shorts is known to air content revolving around social issues. They do so in the format of short films or web series generally. So we can expect them to air this show as a digital series. Considering it is a story about three children helping their father solve crimes, something different from the usual saas-bahu dramas, it should have a wider reach. Gone are the days of ‘Mummy ye aap kia keh rahi hain.’ And in our the Famous Five or Secret Seven days.

Detective Series

Famous Five of Pakistan

I saw the trailer, and it reminded me of Enid Blyton. But no, I won’t call it the Pakistani Enid Blyton because that would be demeaning to Ishtiaq Ahmed. Inspector Jamshed Series is about suspense, action, and intensity-filled that are based on locally relevant events.

Since the content is about empowering parents on how to improve the morals and ethics of their young ones, it can also target the parents. So inspector Jamshed, come along with your kids, Mehmood, Farooq, and Farzana, to grace our screens. Solve cases and save the day!

The trailer

Have a look at the trailer and tell us if you are as impressed by the show as we are.

It has been just two days since the trailer launched, and fans of the novel series are going crazy about it. Some can’t stop being excited after listening to the music and seeing the fantabulous visuals of the Detective Series.

At the same time, however, you will find the series’ fans requesting the creator’s something we fully agree with. They request that the remediation of the series better be of the novel’s level. And as one of the commenters said, it should be so good that Netflix takes it on. But there is just one thing, not everybody in Pakistan has Netflix, and we should ensure that at least the citizen to whom this is relevant should be able to view it.

Following the meeting, Raza Pirbhai, CEO KFC Pakistan, presented a cheque worth PKR 7.5 million to the Prime Minister for the PM’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund. The amount which was donated was collected through the Ehsaas Bucket.

KFC Pakistan rebranded its iconic bucket!

Amid the global pandemic and trying times, KFC Pakistan had rebranded its iconic bucket to the Ehsaas Bucket. Here’s how it worked:

For every 9-piece bucket, KFC Pakistan donated PKR 50 to the PM’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund.

KFC Pakistan has always played an important and active role in helping the community through its campaigns. Their platform ‘Mitao Bhook’ has been doing amazingly well, whether it’s working with the Dewa Insitute and FESF for inclusion and education.

Earlier, KFC Pakistan had come up with another brilliant initiative called ‘Serving With Heart,’ where 1000 meals a day were distributed among frontline healthcare and security heroes during the lockdown.

KFC Pakistan and its thoughtfulness

KFC Pakistan is recognized for its exemplary campaigns and connecting with people through their philanthropic activities. It is safe to say that KFC deserves utmost appreciation for such thoughtfulness and being part of this great cause. Also, we’d like to thank KFC Pakistan for always being so proactive.

Burger King France Welcomes Guests With A Smart Campaign

As the lockdown is lifting and the world is adopting the new normal, people are getting out of the house. The fear is still there, but we are following the safety measures. And so with the masks and sanitizers, people feel a little better about returning to the streets. So like other brands, Burger King France is also ready to welcome its guests back.

The brand launched its campaign to welcome back with something new and something exciting and in a minimalistic way. What do I mean by that? Well, remember that whenever we saw ads for fast food, the scene was always loaded with the food; some bags of fries, saucy burgers, and crunchy zingers.

And what if I tell you that this brand did nothing of that sort. Burger King didn’t show ANY burger! Not even a bag of fires… Just one fry. Can you imagine that? And yet, it’s taking over the internet. Why? Because it is getting its point across.

Let’s look at some pictures

Burger King France

What do you see? Greasy fingerprint on the steering wheel. What do you read? Eating greasy fast food in the car. And when does that happen? When you buy food at the drive-Through. So what do you realize? You realize that Burger King is open for take-away.

Burger King France

In the next picture of the series, you see that one fry that falls off when we stuff our mouth hungrily while driving. You can’t pick it up because you are driving. Obviously, and with it are some crumbs that could have fallen from your zinger burger.

burger king france

A little bit of tomato see goes a long way indeed. That one chilli and a bit of tomato fall away as you munch on your food. It speaks of the story you want to hide away from your kids, or they’ll want some too.

Remember the Mold?

The Paris Agency Buzzman created the campaign. And it falls in the same line of creative awards Burger King has been known for, ever since the moldy burger ad. It was the most disgusting thing to look at. But it represented the brand’s promise of removing all the artificial preservatives from its products.

By unleashing this sensational campaign, Buzzman has indeed followed in the footsteps of the creators of the Moldy Burger Ad.

We will stay tuned to more creative ads, but until then, the French can drive down to their nearest Burger King shop and order their favorites.

#YasirHussainIsTheRealGarbage Trends & Pakistanis Are Furious

Yasir hussain

Yasir Hussain is being thrashed on social media for trashing the cast of Ertugrul. Moreover. It’s safe to say that whatever respect he had left in the eyes of the people it’s gone now.

So, What Did Yasir Hussain Say?

Hussain is as controversial as they come. Recently, he’s been repeatedly trying to throw jibes at the cast of Ertugrul as well as the season itself.

Recently, he put up a story on his Instagram in which he was featuring a tweet of someone pointing out local men who resembled two actors from Ertugrul. Hussain replied to that casually that no one will care about them because they’re from home. The “bahar ka kachra” (international garbage) is what people cash upon.

However, is that really true?

Yasir hussain

As the memes say, the best time to delete that tweet was when it was tweeted, but the next best is now. Yasir Hussain might be contemplating his entire life leading up to this point. On the other hand, some people are having the best day ever.

Twitter Got Furious

The people on Twitter regularly make Yasir Hussain the butt of their jokes. Be it when he proposed to Iqra Aziz or when he breathes basically. As a result, this tweet of his was a field day for them.

#YasirHussainIsTheRealGarbage is trending on twitter. This shows the zeal with which people are criticizing him. Moreover, how insulting is it that as a Pakistani actor, the only time he’s gotten this much recognition is when he’s being called trash…

See The Tweets For Yourself!

Insecurities Exposed

On the one hand, one might even say that Yasir Hussain is hungry for attention from the cast of Ertugrul. They don’t even know whether he exists, but he hates on them as if his life depends on it.

Additionally, what is the purpose of continually passing snide remarks on Ertugrul?

Yasir hussain

Nothing international can come and take your job if you’re competent at it and if your standard is just as high. However, when Pakistani dramas have storylines based on incest and trivializing domestic abuse, then actors can’t complain that they are out of work.

All in all, his remarks have been interpreted by many to be a show of insecurities, and this time, it indeed did land him in hot waters!

PCB Recommends Harsh Punishment For Corruptors In Cricket

PCB
PC: CNN International

Pakistan’s cricket team has been the pride of this nation for years. We have been proud of our boys, whether they win or lose, because of how great they are and how they always try their best.

However, we can’t deny the fact that there have been many cases of corruption and other issues throughout the years as well. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recommended to carry out tough sanctions against individuals who are corruptors in cricket.

“The PCB has reviewed the existing legislation enacted within Pakistan and has noted that the same fail to target and address corruption/illegal manipulation in sports adequately,” Chairman Ehsan Mani said on Sunday while talking to APP.

“In the draft paper, the PCB has proposed severe sanctions about corruption, illegal manipulation, betting, match, and spot-fixing as well as aiding and abetting such conduct and has proposed penalties to be imposed on individuals found guilty of engaging in such offenses,” Mani added.

Pakistan was faced with an embarrassing international situation when top cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, and the young talent at the time, Mohammad Amir, testified as guilty for spot-fixing and corruption.

A decade after Lord's scandal, match-fixing still haunts Pakistan cricket
PC: Daily Times

But that’s not the only time Pakistan had to be embarrassed. Cricketer Saleem Malik was given a lifetime ban in 2000 (overturned in 2008) for offering bribes to cricketers. He was the first cricketer to be banned for a lifetime for corruption, and also the first cricketer to be jailed.

Ata-ur-Rehman followed when he was banned in 2000 for dealing with bookers and was also given a lifetime ban (lifted in 2006). Danish Kaneria also found himself in a fix after being banned for life. He was arrested in 2010, although the investigation determined him cleared of allegations, e was found guilty by an England and Wales Cricket Board disciplinary panel and banned for life.

More recently, Sharjeel Khan was placed under a 5-year ban in August 2017 for spot-fixing charges in Pakistan Super League. Asides Sharjeel, other cricketers who were found guilty of spot-fixing include Nasir Jamshed, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, and Mohammad Nawaz.

Nasir Jamshed Pleaded Guilty in Spot Fixing Scandal!

PCB is currently in the midst of a corruption battle against Umar Akmal. “The PCB takes matters relating to anti-corruption very seriously and firmly maintains a zero-tolerance approach. The PCB doesn’t take any pride in seeing a cricketer of Umar’s stature being banned for corruption. Still, as a credible and respectable institution, we need to send out a loud and clear message to all our stakeholders that there will be no sympathy whatsoever for anyone who breaches the regulations,” the PCB had said last month.

“Too many meaningless matches and events were being organized, which was costing the PCB a fortune without benefiting Pakistan cricket. Also, contrary to the constitution, the Regions were not generating their own funds and had become completely dependent financially on the PCB without any tangible results,” Mani said.

“We introduced a high-quality and competitive 2019-20 season in which the best of the best players featured, and as a result, some of the top performers broke into the recent Pakistan sides, most prominent being Haider Ali.

“To ensure our best domestic cricketers continue to be looked after and are well paid, the PCB offered decent player contracts in the 2019-20 season, which have further been improved for the 2020-21 season.

“I envisage a Plus A Category domestic player will make around PKR3million if he features in all matches of the 2020-21 season, while a D category player will earn just under Rs 1 million. These numbers are based on match fees and daily allowances only, but if you add the prize money, then these numbers will increase substantially.”

Chairman PCB said once cricket clubs are fully active and once cricket comes back on track after COVID-19, proper action will be taken, and there will be new rules to abide with as well.

7 Controversial Pakistani Cricketers & Their Stories that Broke the Internet!

Pakistani Man Exposes Damaged Bridge That Connects Balochistan & Karachi

Pakistani Man Exposes Damaged Bridge That Connects Balochistan & Karachi
Image from a viral video

A video recently appeared on social media platforms highlighting the damaged bridge that connects Balochistan and Karachi.

A concerned civilian recorded the video urging the authorities to take notice of the situation and get the bridge repaired before it breaks down, taking the lives of several innocent travelers.

The bridge and its poor condition

According to the civilian, the pillars of the main bridge connecting Karachi to Balochistan are in deplorable condition, and the bridge can collapse any time.  In a single day, the bridge is used by numerous travelers who are probably unaware of the terrible state of the bridge.

The worried citizen also claimed that if forty to fifty vehicles boarded the bridge simultaneously at any given time, the bridge would fall off. He asserted that whenever such tragedies occur, various organizations rush to help and provide aid to the affectees.

However, this is not a pragmatic solution to the problem, the man suggested. Hence, he urged the authorities to, instead, take notice of the situation beforehand and either reconstruct the bridge or repair its poorly constructed pillars as soon as possible.

In his video, the man also questioned the incompetence and negligence of the authorities towards such issues. Why are such matters always taken into consideration only after substantial damage is done? When will the authorities acknowledge their responsibilities? The man raised numerous questions on behalf of the masses.

Have a look at the video yourself:

Have a look at the condition of the pillars up close:

Image from a viral video

Although the video is up on social media, our news channels should step in and cover the entire situation in detail, urging the officials to pay heed to the matter and repair the bridge as quickly as possible to avoid considerable damage.

This video is indeed an eye-opener for our authorities, and it’s still not too late for them to employ effective strategies to prevent potential losses.

Who will be answerable?

God forbid, if the bridge collapses, who will be responsible for the damage? Will the authorities acknowledge their incompetency? Even if they do, will they be able to bring back those who would have lost their lives at the hands of these inept officials?

We, hence, urge the authorities to pay heed to the issue and request the citizens to avoid using the bridge until it is repaired.

Sajid Hassan Brutally Destroyed Waseem Badami on Live Television

Sajid Hassan

During an episode of Waseem Badami‘s popular TV show called ‘Haar Lamha Purjosh‘ host, Badami played a round of ‘Masoomana Sawal’ or innocent rapid-fire with veteran actor Sajid Hassan.

The actor opened about almost everything from exposing the local showbiz industry to dealing with his skull surgery, he spilled the beans about everything.

However, to everyone’s surprise, Hassan ended up brutally insulting Waseem Badami for not bothering to visit him while he was going through a tough time.

He further on added people in the media industry only remembered me when they needed interviews from him or something for their own benefit.

However, nobody asked him about his health when he had his surgery or even after it.

Waseem was not at all sorry or empathetic towards the veteran and actually laughed in response to all his claims, fueling the anger even more!

Watch the brutal conversation below:

Bizarre Driving Rules From Around The World!

Set of traffic warning sign on blur traffic road with colorful bokeh light abstract background. Copy space of transportation and travel concept. Retro tone filter color style.

Since we are little, we have often heard the phrase ‘Jesa Des Waisa Bhes’ which means the same as “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

It means adapting to the culture and roots of the country and accepting it for what it brings.

However, for drivers, riding around in a new country can be very painful, especially when you are unaware of their laws, or when they have bizarre rules.

Countries all over have a different set of driving laws according to the safety of their drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.

Here are some of the most bizarre driving rules we came across:

1. China/Beijing

China
PC: Far West China

Usually, in every other country in the world, a driver stops to allow a pedestrian to cross the street as a sign of courtesy and, of course, to obey rules if there are stop signs at the corner.

However, in China and Beijing, things work differently. It is illegal for drivers to stop their cars for pedestrians.

2. Manila, Philippines

Philippines
PC: autoindustriya

In Manila, the Philippines, drivers who own cars with license plates that end with a 1 or 2 are not allowed to drive on Mondays.

This act was imposed by the authorities to help the massive flow of daily traffic in the capital, hence only certain cars are allowed in certain areas.

3. Thailand

Thailand
PC: TheAutoDriver

You can be fined for driving topless in Thailand in regards to your gender. Even tourists are not allowed to be topless, whether you are in a tuk-tuk, on a motorbike, or using any other mode of travel.

4. America

Dunkin Donut
PC: Trip Advisor

There are a handful of bizarre driving rules in the United States of America. We listed down a few for you:

  • You can’t park in front of a Dunkin Donuts in Maine
  • It is illegal to drive in black vehicles on a Sunday in Denver, Colorado
  • In Mariette, Georgia you can’t spit from a moving car, but, you can from a moving truck
  • It is illegal to drive blindfolded in Alabama
  • In Alabama, drivers can drive the wrong way through a one-way street as long as they have a lantern attached to the front of the car

5. Europe

Car breakdown
PC: AA

If you thought the states in America had weird laws, wait to you hear some of Europe’s:

  • In Moscow, you can be fined for having a dirty car
  • All drivers in France must carry their breathalyzer
  • In Cyprus, it is illegal to have anything to drink or eat while driving
  • You can’t wash your car(s) in Switzerland on Sundays
  • In Germany, it is unlawful to stop your car even if it’s out of fuel

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be visiting Karachi today, September 5, 2020, to disclose the Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP) — a developmental plan for the metropolis to counter the devastating effects of the torrential rains that wrecked the city.

The disastrous spell of monsoon rain did not only take numerous lives but also put a question mark on the flawed and imbalanced administrative policies that have been governing the economic hub of Pakistan for years.

PM Imran Khan To Transform Karachi With A Rs.802bn Plan!

Prepared under the guidance of Prime Minister Imran Khan himself, the excellent transformation plan for Karachi is worth Rs.802 billion and addresses the key concerns of the citizens.

Among six mass transit systems included in the transformation plan, the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) plan is an Rs300 billion plan for which China would be contributing Rs250 billion and the government of Sindh would provide the remaining Rs50 billion.

Other major development projects included in the Karachi Transformation Plan consist of four concrete waste management projects worth Rs14.86 billion, eight sewerage projects worth Rs162.60, several road construction and repair projects for about Rs62.30 million, and two water drainage projects for Rs4.7 billion.

Karachiites are eagerly waiting for PM Imran Khan to reach Karachi and unveil further details about the Karachi Transformation Plan.

PM Imran Khan’s Concern for Karachi

The condition of the metropolis is constantly deteriorating with time.  According to the Sindh Governor – Mr. Imran Islmail, PM Imran Khan is especially concerned for the city after the devastation caused by the sixth spell of monsoon rain in Karachi. In Geo New’s “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath,” Imran Ismail mentioned that the Karachi Transformation Plan had addressed all the problems of the mega-city.

Well, we have ourselves been witnessing Mr. Prime Minister’s concern for Karachi on Twitter as well.

In late August, amidst the melancholy of the terrible Karachi rains, PM Imran Khan’s tweet was received with sighs of contentment where he promised the people of Karachi that they would not be abandoned. He also assured them that a pragmatic plan will soon be articulated to propose a permanent solution for the problems that they have been facing ever since.

Have a look at Mr. Prime Minister’s tweet yourself:

It looks like Prime Minister Imran Khan is about to fulfill his promise as he acknowledges that the growth of Pakistan is associated with the progress of its financial and industrial capital — Karachi.

It’s good to know that Mr. Prime Minister is all set to rescue The City of Lights from drowning into darkness and hopelessness. After all, Karachi is the heart of Pakistan.

Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for being our ray of hope.

Are you as eager as we are for PM Imran Khan to visit Karachi? Do you think that Imran Khan’s Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP) will save Karachi? Let us know in the comment section below!

6 Mistakes To Avoid While Baking Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies

Baking cookies is not my forte. As easy as baking might look on these fast motion videos on the internet, I warn you, it is not. It requires so much effort and technique to pull together one successful batch of cookies, or a chocolate cake.

Banana bread, the easiest thing to bake on this planet, can go wrong too if you do not follow instructions. There are some mistakes that you can make while baking and overlook them easily. After dedicating hours, your heart just breaks into pieces when you don’t get expected results.

Here are ten common mistakes you must avoid while baking:

  1. Baking soda and Baking Powder are not the same.

The key is to follow the recipe religiously. Use what the recipe says, baking soda or the baking powder. Cookies can turn out differently with each of the ingredients.

  2. Do not attempt to load all ingredients in the same bowl.

There is a reason why dry ingredients go in a separate bowl while the liquid in another. Don’t add all your ingredients to a single pan.

3. Overmixing Your Batter

Details are so important when baking. Over mixing your batter can result in a runnier batter. It can turn your cookies light and airy.

4. Use Proper equipment

Use proper equipment to measure ingredients. The below pictures comprises of two cookies. Right: The cookie has slightly less flour than the recipe. Left: The cookie has marginally more powder than required.

5. Add enough Sugar

Some people would add less sugar to the batter to limit sugar intake. The Sugar is what makes the cookie chewy in the middle. Skipping it or adding less will not result in a perfect cookie. Just use Brown Sugar instead.

6. Preheat Oven

A lot of people do not know the significance of preheating your oven. You can’t start your cookies in a cold oven. The temperature should be set just as the recipe suggests. Set a timer too.

Protip: Switch your oven on in the middle of assembling your batter.

I hope your cookies turn out great after you identify the common mistakes mentioned above.

5 Best Car Commercials That Will Blow Your Mind Away!

best car ads
Credits: Tormeti

Over the years, we have seen some fantastic beasts roll out of production. Some of them have impressed us so that they have gone down in history.

On the other hand, there have also been a handful of automobile commercials that are regarded as some of the best work and concepts in advertising.

They grip you, keep you hooked until the very end, have a relatable story, and, most importantly, give their messages very subtly.

If you are a metal-fanatic and also admire great advertisement, we have compiled a list of the five best commercials ever!

1. The Cog – Honda

The advert is personally one of our personal favorites. The 2-minute long video shows the entire process of how the Honda Accord is made! Each body part plays out a domino effect that connects all the pieces of the puzzle altogether and reveals the final product.

https://youtu.be/_ve4M4UsJQo

2. “Chicken” Magic Body Control – Mercedes-Benz

Now, this is called advertising! It’s out of the box, cocky, funky, funny; it has all the elements that make a great car commercial. What’s interesting is that the message that Mercedes-Benz wishes to show is very straightforward, easy to pick, and it hasn’t been exaggerated.

https://youtu.be/nLwML2PagbY

What we love about this commercial, in particular, is how the brand decided to use a chicken and relate it to motion stability- absolutely brilliant!

3. Discovery 4 – Land Rover

Be it blizzards, dusty trails, heavy rain, rigged terrains, hills, mountains, or anything you can think of, the adventure must go on! This is what we receive as the message from Land Rover’s Discovery 4 commercial. The concept is simple; it’s appealing; it’s beautiful; it makes you want to go outside and explore!

https://youtu.be/Qxjz_P3yjwM

One of Land Rover’s latest and exciting works is their first-ever indoor commercial called ‘Discover the Great Indoors.’ The brand rolled out the advert during the Coronavirus pandemic, and it is definitely worth watching!

4. Citroen Dancing Robot

The Citroen dancing robot ad feeds our wish of owning a car that can transform into a robot, similar to Transformers. When they said that the car was alive with technology, they weren’t kidding! The commercial is easy to catch on to; the robot has smooth moves, it’s short, on point, and has you shake a leg along with it.

https://youtu.be/4dilUbkP-PI

5. Nissan Toy Commercial

If you have watched this ad and are a Toy Story fan, then you are in for nostalgia! The commercial kicks off in a very familiar setting, a child’s room filled with their favorite toys. The main character, which resembles a lot to Woody, is seen rushing towards a Nissan, hops in, crosses over to the other room, and impresses Barbie with his new ride!

BONUS

We promised you five awesome commercials, but there are so many that we wanted to share another one that has made our list!

S5 Soapbox Commercial – Audi

There is a common misconception in society that racing and driving are meant for boys. In a modern and progressive world, brands like Audi have broken the stereotyping with soul-touching ads!

One of the ads we feel has touched us is from the 2017 Superbowl in which a father watches his daughter take on the neighborhood boys in a derby competition!

Personal Reflection: Is Patriarchy Boiling Into Misogyny?

misogyny

Time and again, I have come across this narrative that feminists standing up against patriarchy is wrong. It is said that they should stand against specific events and incidences that targeted particular victims. They also enforce that patriarchy is a way of life in Pakistan, a cultural and ‘religious’ way of life. While misogyny is the perpetrator. I seek to break this narrative.

Understanding Patriarchy

So let’s break it down. I googled Patriarchy. The definition I got was a system where the head of the family is a father or the eldest male. Now, this indicates if the father is absent in the picture, the mother of the family cannot be the head since she is a female. Her son, however, who maybe be two decades or younger than her, is the head, and he will be the one issuing orders, and that includes ordering his mom around as well.

Now understand Misogyny

Then I googled misogyny. And the simplest definition I could find was ‘the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls.’ Now bear with me while I explain how endorsing the system of patriarchy, on the whole, can promote misogyny, which is real by the way, and not some specific incidences.

misogyny

Link the two

We established how patriarchy instills the belief that women are not capable of making their own decision since her 18-year-old boy will direct a 40-year-old woman. As a result, that 18-year-old boy thinks that he is superior to women. This is one incident. Bring together an entire country’s population, and they wouldn’t just believe that they are excellent, they would think that it is their right to correct the women’s ‘wrongs.’

Patriarchy transforming

As it continues, and they find that women are ‘straying’ from what men have decreed right, that’s when they start becoming anti-women. This is to note that they are not anti-women; instead, they are anti-(those women who don’t deem them, God). And that hurts what they have grown up with because they have been used to being treated more important than women who were even older than them.

misogyny

And since they have been taught that the only relevant emotion they have is their aggression, they lash out that way. This leads you to read news such as murders of women at the hand of family members.

Drumroll… Aurat March

Let me give you an example. Women got out of the house with various placards and marched to get their rights. Furious about this, in the following weeks, Nation.com reports murders, rapes, and sexual abuse. There was at least 12 murder which was blanketed in the fancy term ‘honor killing,’ and in just two weeks, there were 2776 murders in Pakistan. Reread it now slowly. Two thousand seven hundred and seventy-six. This was the number.

Two thousand seven hundred seventy-six lives were lost, 2276 lives disappeared. Gone!

So it ultimately boils down to the fact that since we endorse patriarchy, we water the seed of misogyny. It won’t end right away. These men have grown up in an environment where they were systematically taught to follow these practices. They can’t unlearn all that in a night by reading one article. But when we start discussing this, the next generation will see better values, better lifestyles, and better men. The age after that will be even better.
