6 Mistakes To Avoid While Baking Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies

Baking cookies is not my forte. As easy as baking might look on these fast motion videos on the internet, I warn you, it is not. It requires so much effort and technique to pull together one successful batch of cookies, or a chocolate cake.

Banana bread, the easiest thing to bake on this planet, can go wrong too if you do not follow instructions. There are some mistakes that you can make while baking and overlook them easily. After dedicating hours, your heart just breaks into pieces when you don’t get expected results.

Here are ten common mistakes you must avoid while baking:

  1. Baking soda and Baking Powder are not the same.

The key is to follow the recipe religiously. Use what the recipe says, baking soda or the baking powder. Cookies can turn out differently with each of the ingredients.

  2. Do not attempt to load all ingredients in the same bowl.

There is a reason why dry ingredients go in a separate bowl while the liquid in another. Don’t add all your ingredients to a single pan.

3. Overmixing Your Batter

Details are so important when baking. Over mixing your batter can result in a runnier batter. It can turn your cookies light and airy.

4. Use Proper equipment

Use proper equipment to measure ingredients. The below pictures comprises of two cookies. Right: The cookie has slightly less flour than the recipe. Left: The cookie has marginally more powder than required.

5. Add enough Sugar

Some people would add less sugar to the batter to limit sugar intake. The Sugar is what makes the cookie chewy in the middle. Skipping it or adding less will not result in a perfect cookie. Just use Brown Sugar instead.

6. Preheat Oven

A lot of people do not know the significance of preheating your oven. You can’t start your cookies in a cold oven. The temperature should be set just as the recipe suggests. Set a timer too.

Protip: Switch your oven on in the middle of assembling your batter.

I hope your cookies turn out great after you identify the common mistakes mentioned above.

5 Best Car Commercials That Will Blow Your Mind Away!

best car ads
Credits: Tormeti

Over the years, we have seen some fantastic beasts roll out of production. Some of them have impressed us so that they have gone down in history.

On the other hand, there have also been a handful of automobile commercials that are regarded as some of the best work and concepts in advertising.

They grip you, keep you hooked until the very end, have a relatable story, and, most importantly, give their messages very subtly.

If you are a metal-fanatic and also admire great advertisement, we have compiled a list of the five best commercials ever!

1. The Cog – Honda

The advert is personally one of our personal favorites. The 2-minute long video shows the entire process of how the Honda Accord is made! Each body part plays out a domino effect that connects all the pieces of the puzzle altogether and reveals the final product.

https://youtu.be/_ve4M4UsJQo

2. “Chicken” Magic Body Control – Mercedes-Benz

Now, this is called advertising! It’s out of the box, cocky, funky, funny; it has all the elements that make a great car commercial. What’s interesting is that the message that Mercedes-Benz wishes to show is very straightforward, easy to pick, and it hasn’t been exaggerated.

https://youtu.be/nLwML2PagbY

What we love about this commercial, in particular, is how the brand decided to use a chicken and relate it to motion stability- absolutely brilliant!

3. Discovery 4 – Land Rover

Be it blizzards, dusty trails, heavy rain, rigged terrains, hills, mountains, or anything you can think of, the adventure must go on! This is what we receive as the message from Land Rover’s Discovery 4 commercial. The concept is simple; it’s appealing; it’s beautiful; it makes you want to go outside and explore!

https://youtu.be/Qxjz_P3yjwM

One of Land Rover’s latest and exciting works is their first-ever indoor commercial called ‘Discover the Great Indoors.’ The brand rolled out the advert during the Coronavirus pandemic, and it is definitely worth watching!

4. Citroen Dancing Robot

The Citroen dancing robot ad feeds our wish of owning a car that can transform into a robot, similar to Transformers. When they said that the car was alive with technology, they weren’t kidding! The commercial is easy to catch on to; the robot has smooth moves, it’s short, on point, and has you shake a leg along with it.

https://youtu.be/4dilUbkP-PI

5. Nissan Toy Commercial

If you have watched this ad and are a Toy Story fan, then you are in for nostalgia! The commercial kicks off in a very familiar setting, a child’s room filled with their favorite toys. The main character, which resembles a lot to Woody, is seen rushing towards a Nissan, hops in, crosses over to the other room, and impresses Barbie with his new ride!

BONUS

We promised you five awesome commercials, but there are so many that we wanted to share another one that has made our list!

S5 Soapbox Commercial – Audi

There is a common misconception in society that racing and driving are meant for boys. In a modern and progressive world, brands like Audi have broken the stereotyping with soul-touching ads!

One of the ads we feel has touched us is from the 2017 Superbowl in which a father watches his daughter take on the neighborhood boys in a derby competition!

Personal Reflection: Is Patriarchy Boiling Into Misogyny?

misogyny

Time and again, I have come across this narrative that feminists standing up against patriarchy is wrong. It is said that they should stand against specific events and incidences that targeted particular victims. They also enforce that patriarchy is a way of life in Pakistan, a cultural and ‘religious’ way of life. While misogyny is the perpetrator. I seek to break this narrative.

Understanding Patriarchy

So let’s break it down. I googled Patriarchy. The definition I got was a system where the head of the family is a father or the eldest male. Now, this indicates if the father is absent in the picture, the mother of the family cannot be the head since she is a female. Her son, however, who maybe be two decades or younger than her, is the head, and he will be the one issuing orders, and that includes ordering his mom around as well.

Now understand Misogyny

Then I googled misogyny. And the simplest definition I could find was ‘the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls.’ Now bear with me while I explain how endorsing the system of patriarchy, on the whole, can promote misogyny, which is real by the way, and not some specific incidences.

misogyny

Link the two

We established how patriarchy instills the belief that women are not capable of making their own decision since her 18-year-old boy will direct a 40-year-old woman. As a result, that 18-year-old boy thinks that he is superior to women. This is one incident. Bring together an entire country’s population, and they wouldn’t just believe that they are excellent, they would think that it is their right to correct the women’s ‘wrongs.’

Patriarchy transforming

As it continues, and they find that women are ‘straying’ from what men have decreed right, that’s when they start becoming anti-women. This is to note that they are not anti-women; instead, they are anti-(those women who don’t deem them, God). And that hurts what they have grown up with because they have been used to being treated more important than women who were even older than them.

misogyny

And since they have been taught that the only relevant emotion they have is their aggression, they lash out that way. This leads you to read news such as murders of women at the hand of family members.

Drumroll… Aurat March

Let me give you an example. Women got out of the house with various placards and marched to get their rights. Furious about this, in the following weeks, Nation.com reports murders, rapes, and sexual abuse. There was at least 12 murder which was blanketed in the fancy term ‘honor killing,’ and in just two weeks, there were 2776 murders in Pakistan. Reread it now slowly. Two thousand seven hundred and seventy-six. This was the number.

Two thousand seven hundred seventy-six lives were lost, 2276 lives disappeared. Gone!

So it ultimately boils down to the fact that since we endorse patriarchy, we water the seed of misogyny. It won’t end right away. These men have grown up in an environment where they were systematically taught to follow these practices. They can’t unlearn all that in a night by reading one article. But when we start discussing this, the next generation will see better values, better lifestyles, and better men. The age after that will be even better.

Faryal Makhdoom Gets Trolled After Announcing Her Reality Show!

Faryal Makhdoom Gets Trolled After Announcing Her Reality Show!

Beauty queen Faryal Makhdoom and the famous boxing champion Amir Khan have always enjoyed being in the limelight. Faryal Makhdoom’s recent post on Instagram has put the couple under the spotlight, yet again!

About the Couple

Born in Brooklyn, Faryal is a well-known influencer and YouTuber. She has been a prominent internet personality and a model. She’s also the CEO of her own line of cosmetics. On the other hand, Amir Khan, her husband, is a great boxer who has won numerous awards in the field. The two stars got married on 31 May 2013 and are now parents of three adorable children: Muhammad Zaviyar Khan, Alayna Khan, and Lamaisah Khan.

In the past, the couple has been a victim of a lot of controversies that revolved around their personal lives, and we are afraid that Faryal’s recent post on Instagram might stir up controversy once again.

Faryal’s Instagram Post

In her recent post on Instagram, Faryal announced her new reality TV series, “Meet The Khans,” that is to be aired next year, in 2021. Putting up a picture of herself with her husband, Faryal wrote:

“Excited to announce our new reality TV series “Meet The Khans” – coming soon on @Bbc @bbcthree.”

Excited to know the reaction of her followers and fan, Faryal Makhdoom further added:

“who’s watching?”

About “Meet The Khans”

Reportedly, the reality series “Meet The Khans” will document the family life, careers, and all the challenges (related to their personal and professional lives) that the couple encounters. According to reports, the documentary will also feature Faryal’s children. Giving an insight into the celebrity couple’s life, the documentary will provide an opportunity for all the fans to observe their favorite couple up close.

However, apart from all the appreciation that Faryal Makhdoom and Boxer Husband Amir Khan received from fans, a lot of people started trolling the couple brutally in the comment section. We are pretty sure that Faryal and Amir would not have expected such off-putting comments while announcing their upcoming TV show on Instagram.

Some even tried to troll Faryal for attempting to copy the Kardashians through this documentary:

However, the hate did not let the Famous Influencer down, and she came up with an equally brutal response:

Faryal’s response to the hater reflects how celebrities and showbiz personalities, sooner or later, get immune to the occasional hate and criticism that they receive.

Anyhow, are you ready to watch this controversial couple share the screen in their new BBC Three documentary “Meet The Khans”? Do you think that the documentary is a replica of the famous American reality TV series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”?  Let us know in the comment section below.

4 Games You Should Play To Kill The Boredom Of A Long Flight!

Traveling on a budget or not, sometimes you need to travel with 1 or 2 stops in between your flight. At times the transit is not too long, and you have to rush towards your boarding gate (I have done it, its no joke). And at other times, you have more than 14 hours and you have no idea what to do with this long flight or more like a journey.

Even if you are at Al Hammad International or Dubai Airport, you will be tired of roaming around and would be bored. Or if you are on the plane and the flight is long and you do want to watch any film. In that case, you should know a few games. If you are traveling with someone, that will be great, but even if you are not, some of these games can keep you company.

1. Paper Games

They never get old. All you need is a pencil and a paper. You can ask for that on a flight even. And you can start with tic-tac-toe and oh yes, hangman. Of course, you need to get a partner to play these. But that doesn’t mean you have to be traveling with someone for these. No, it just means you need to be strategically extrovert. So start talking to the one sitting next to you and convince him/her.

2. Sudoku

Ok, so this is my personal favorite, for I happen to be an ambivert whose introvert-ness jumps out right when I travel. And hence whenever I travel, keep this sudoku book with me. Keep solving it. Not only will you look sophisticated playing a brainstorming game, but it enhances your brainpower (which is what I like to believe, and it has no scientific proof, so try it on your responsibility).

3. I Spy

I spy is a game I used to play with my mother when I was young. We would do it when we were waiting in the car for my dad. And it sure came in handy when waiting in Qatar during the 8 hour stop.

4. An investigator on a Plane

I made it up, so you have to bear with me. So you are on a plane, and you are bored, so you start imagining a scenario that someone you have been tracking is on a flight as well. Now you have to find out who that is. Is it the chatty old lady in the aisle seat? Or is it the fat man rushing to the loo every five minutes? Or is it the hot stranger sneaking peeks at you?

A little bit of fun, a short but of sleep, and some roaming around, and it will be time for your flight. If it’s even longer than that, well, in that case, I recommend getting a visa for the country you are stopping at and have a small tour on the side.

10 Pros & Cons Of Buying An Electric Vehicle In Pakistan

electric-cars
pc; consumer reports

Electric Vehicles (EV) came out as substitutes for conventional engine vehicles so that there could be an alternative for some drivers who prefer the other option.

Pakistan is even working on introducing an official EV policy for the country, which in itself is an excellent achievement for the country’s progress.

However, electric cars are not perfect, not yet anyway, and hardly seem to exist in the local market.

There are both pros and cons when it comes to electric vehicles. If you are considering buying an electric car, here are some essential factors you should consider.

Pros Of Buying Electric Vehicles In Pakistan

Electric-vehicle
PC: Engineering Post

1. Cheaper Alternative To Petrol

Depending on some people and their income, some drivers consider electricity a cheaper option compared to petrol. For them, an additional charge in their electric bill is better and cost-effective than the amount they spend on filling their tanks.

Secondly, EV vehicles are less expensive to maintain, as these vehicles don’t have exhaust systems, expensive engines, or worn-out brakes to replace.

2. Pleasant Silent Rides

Since an electric car does not have an engine and runs on batteries, which is usually found mounted under the floor of the vehicle, the vehicle does not generate noise pollution as diesel-powered rides do.

3. Charge At Home

There is no need to go out and find a station to charge electric cars; they can be set right at home, which is convenient. Charging kits are available online.

4. Environmentally Friendly

One of the biggest pros is that EV cars are more environmentally friendly compared to engine cars. The main reason is that electric vehicles do not have a tailpipe. Thus there is a green factor involved.

An Electric Car Worth Rs. 4 Lacs Has Finally Been Introduced In Pakistan

Cons Of Buying Electric Vehicles In Pakistan

EV
pc: Dawn

Where there are advantages, there are cons as well

1. Lack Of Interest/Awareness

In Pakistan, the concept of electric cars does not exist because no such vehicles have been brought into the market yet. Many consumers are unaware of EV cars, how they work, their build, etc. Thus, electric cars are not only challenging to find and buy but are also unpopular in front of names like Pak Suzuki, Honda, and Toyota.

2. Electricity Is Not Cheap For Majority Of Pakistan

For the majority of the population, electricity is a significant concern, keeping in mind that not only are there several areas which suffer from long hours of load-shedding, but the price of each unit also increases along time, that too very fast. For an average household, an additional Rs.10-20,000 in their electricity bill would be overrated compared to an engine car.

3. Range

Unlike an engined power car, which provides you with a long-range of miles for travel, the new Mini Car, which was recently launched in Pakistan, is currently being titled with the first electric car that has been imported in the country for sales. However, the vehicle offers about 150KM (different for every car) of travel on a full charge.

4. Long Charging Hours

Asides the load shedding crisis in the country and E vehicle takes between 4-7 hours per charge, sometimes even more, depending on the size of the battery and car itself. However, if a 7-hour charged battery can provide 150KM, if it is charged less or not at all, traveling becomes next to impossible as the car may stop anytime and anywhere. Plus, the longer it takes to charge, the more units are consumed, and more money is added to your bill.

5. Price

Though the price of the launched Mini Car is Rs600,000, which is cheaper than most of the cars available on the streets, many individuals have been thinking more than twice if they are willing to spend so much money on an EV car.

This is because which requires battery changes after every 500 charges, accommodates only two (including the driver), and gives a top speed of 28km/h with a 1.1KW motor and 40km/h with a 2.2KW motor. Not to forget other costs like charging, maintenance of the vehicle, etc.

6. Lack Of Variety

Unfortunately for those who do have a soft spot for EV vehicles do not have many options available in the local Pakistani automotive market to take a pick. The options available are next to none, and the available ones are not as advanced as electric cars by companies like Tesla have produced, due to cost factors.

5 Tips To Help Save Your Car From Theft In Pakistan

Climate Change And How It Has Impacted Pakistan

Climate Change

The torrential rain that reached Pakistan, inflicting destruction in Karachi and then moving to northern Pakistan, had wreaked havoc even before it arrived here. In these rains, Karachi became a victim of urban flooding, landslides, and too many lives were lost. It was all the effects of climate change.

Climate change has been a big issue for quite some time. There have been contradicting approaches whenever the issue of climate change comes up. Some believe that it has truth attached to it, while others reject its positioning entirely.

How Pandemics are linked with Climate Change

But I would say that with this COVID pandemic, the climate change claim gathered some more backing. Such a plague that can put the entire world on hold and have world-class science on its knees it could have only come from something that got uncovered due to the consequences of climate change. And by discovered, I mean the ice is melting away where it shouldn’t have been, at least not at the current rate.

Locust attack

In case you have not been following the news, there were locust attacks all over the agricultural parts of Pakistan. They would come in hoards and destroy the real cops based on acres of land. Small farmers suffered the most out of it, considering they lost their year’s worth of earning.

Just imagine sending a helicopter to deal with the situation and the locusts managing actually to crash the aircraft. Yes, it did happen.

climate change

Climate Change Changes Rain

Do we need to go on?

Everyone saw how badly it ruined Karachi. People died due to the fast-flowing water on streets, some drowned by falling in sewerage lines. There was even land sliding (this should be a separate point).

So many uninsured cars were smashed just in that. DHA was almost entirely underwater as well that some of the residents had to leave their house. Some other areas had no drinking water, electricity, or even a way out.

It even affected our heritage. The birthplace of our country’s founder, converted into a library in Kharadar, was full of blackened sewerage water. And all this, thanks to unusual torrential rains.

Burnt Crops

Not just the rains, Pakistan has also seen changing weather patterns in general. Let me explain. So the areas known to grow wheat or chickpeas had an appropriate climate as well. They would have rain when the crop needed it. But now they get extreme sun when they need rain and when some crops do survive that, and the time to get the sun begins, they are getting heavy rainfall. This climate, as a result, is burning the crop field.

climate change

The time to discuss whether climate change is real or not is over. It is now time to focus on what to do about it. And do something before something even more tragic happens.

Churails Is A Brave & Bold Social Commentary & An Intense Thriller

churails

Islamabad: Zindagi’s first original and writer/director Asim Abbasi’s acclaimed web series, ‘Churails,’ has had quite a run after having been released some two weeks ago on the OTT platform ZEE5. A bold and much-needed social commentary hiding behind an intense thriller – ‘Churails’ will leave you flustered, scared, curious, and wanting for more.

Starring Sarwat Gilani, Nimra Bucha, Yasra Rizvi, and Mehar Bano in the lead, ‘Churails’ sits right in the real and scripted thriller spectrum. What happens in the show feels real because that is how most women live their lives in Pakistan. You see a little bit of yourself in one or the other character that is represented on the screen, which gives the story an even more personal and empathetic edge.

Churails redefines every mold and idea through which women are perceived in our society. They are expected to be housewives with several kids and a truckload of responsibilities on their backs. Even if they are working women, they are expected to turn to their husbands for all the decision making because women are “foolish, emotional and naïve” and will always need a man to guide them.

churails

This myth is busted when we are introduced to our four central characters; a trophy housewife whose husband cheats on her despite having a perfect life, an alcoholic event planner who lives life on her terms and isn’t answerable to anyone else, an ex-con who killed her husband, and an amateur boxer who wants to break free from the restraints of her controlling family especially her abusive father.

The show paints a real picture of our society instead of the sugar-coated version that’s shown on our screens these days. None of the female characters can be heard telling a man to ‘freshen up while they prepare tea for them’ as they do on every other drama series on all the TV channels.

All in all, Churails isn’t just an “unnecessary piece of fiction that’s out to ridicule and belittle men” as per the unpopular opinion. It sheds light on important issues such as child marriages, domestic abuse and marital rape, and eve-teasing. But it doesn’t stop there. It tells you what actions a woman should take when they find themselves in horrible situations such as those.

Pakistani Fans Excited About PSL 2020 As It Returns In November

PSL 2020

Ever since the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the return of PSL 2020, the internet has witnessed a flurry of activity. According to the news, the remaining four matches, the qualifier, two eliminators, and ultimately the final, will be held in mid-November.

As expected, fans of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are excited. And considering the pandemic had pushed us in uncertain times, it is understandable that the return of the event came as a surprise. The event will be conducted following the SOP down to the T, at least we hope that.

While all the matches will be held in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, the whole of Pakistan is excited. The fans of Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi may be more excited than others, but the idea of cricket is enough to get Pakistan on its toes. And that’s precisely what we witnessed on Twitter. Let’s have a look!

1. Unexpected expectations in Unexpected Times…

Tounge twister much? Well, if a pandemic can halt the world operations, airlines can pause, companies can go out of business, anything can happen. Too harsh? Well, okay. And they reached qualifier so ‘anything’ can occur. So yes, Rana Bilal (@AB18PK), we wish best of luck to Lahore Qalandars too.

2. Baburao conveys it right

There are times when someone asks you how you feel, and you don’t know how to respond. And it is in these times that character like Baburao comes to the rescue. Isn’t this mighty apt, though, because this is precisely what we feel.

3. Remember the Afridi way? But this works too…

I don’t know, but the way Afridi did it, it got imprinted in my mind, but yes, the way he does it works for me too. Because at the end of the day, what matters is PSL. And it means that we are back to being glued to the screens and watching the…ahem… Karachi Kings takeover PSL.

4. Support in the New Normal

This Twitter user hints at what the new supporting style amid the pandemic will look like. And it makes sense and looks safe too. Because if you are not going to be wearing masks, do it while practicing social distancing.

5. Fully charged?

The pandemic has had us all down. But the user with the handle @wastingmytime is right in saying that the news has us all charged and excited.

We are all very excited. Not only is it the return of PSL 2020, but also the fact that life may be returning to normal finally. Whatever that normal now means. But it shows that we persevered through some callous times. And we are ready to face what life may present in the future.

The pandemic has everyone in fits as the challenges keep on increasing every day. Industries are struggling to keep up with the drastic change in supply and demand.

4 Foolproof Social Media Hacks For Small Businesses

Small businesses are popping up left, right, and center during this pandemic. Why might you be thinking? It’s because people finally have the time to harness their skills and pursue what they love! People are either creating blogs or starting small baking ventures. However, small businesses have existed in a multitude always and aren’t anything new.

Why you need to make social media your best friend

But, growing a small business is much trickier than its larger counterparts. One needs to think of strategies that amplify the reach of the company without costing an arm and a leg for marketing and PR. If you have a small business or are interested in starting one, know that social media can largely control your success. Social media platforms have millions of eager potential consumers and investors who have an eye for profitable small businesses.

Keep reading to know the best foolproof social media hacks to grow your small business.

1. Schedule your post according to traffic hours

You need to understand each platform for the kind of content its users require. Twitter has evolved into more of an informative platform, while Instagram has a pictorial appeal. Facebook, on the other hand, is a neutral ground between the two. Make an educated guess about when your targeted consumer base needs to see your posts.

For instance, if you’re a home-based caterer, make sure to publish your posts around lunch or dinner times. If you’re a small-scale clothing seller, chances are your posts might do better in the evening. Traffic hours will make sure the maximum number of people get to know about your brand.

2. Promote your posts for higher traffic

Almost all of Facebook’s profit is extracted from paid advertisement revenues. That shows that companies, big or small, all promote their posts as a form of social media strategy. Paid advertisements are an effective way to advertise exactly what you want. Moreover, they result in higher engagement, which can help you develop a community to connect with.

Don’t forget to check your insights when you promote a post. Ideas tell you which gender or age-group is interacting more with your products.

3. Don’t deny the power of hashtags

Hashtags on Instagram: Key of Success

We know today hashtags are not more than a meme, but a hashtag can make your post available to thousands. Find out the Niche hashtags for your small business and incorporate them in your captions. Most people are scrolling through hashtags to connect with new companies, and you can be one of them.

4. Partner with micro-influencers

The influencer community can help your business grow

Influencers range from small blogs with 2-3K followers to Kylie Jenner, with 183 million followers. However, you need to stick with the former category to get your small business on the radar. Blogs in their nascent stages rarely over-charge so you can get to promote your product in an affordable fashion. Collaboration means you can tap into said influencer’s community and make your mark.

Make sure whoever you’re collaborating with identifies with your product. Also, confirm whether their followers are organic or paid ones— the latter will not help.

So which of these hacks will you be applying? Let us know in the comments below!

10 Hilarious Ads That Will Tickle Your Funny Bones Amid The Pandemic

ads

In a world where ads give you a ‘yeh dekha hua hay’ feeling, it is difficult, if not impossible, to break the clutter. Finding a quality commercial is rare and daunting.

Today, our advertising industry is sadly resorting to skin lightening products or are snowed under with creating content that leaves you scratching your head. Although, now and then, you see an ad that becomes the flickering flame at the end of the tunnel and the optimist in you starts to believe that there is still some creativity left in the advertising world.

So, without any further ado, let’s have a look at a few ads that will make you sit and pay attention.

1. HYUNDAI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R_483zeVF8&feature=emb_title

This Hyundai Ad featuring Kevin Hart, who plays a concerned father lets his daughter and her date borrow his new car, but only because its impressive security features means he’ll know exactly where they are. It’s safety features will keep them, and the vehicle, from any kind of trouble.

2. McDonald’s’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX5dWX_Lu9g

Their ‘saver menu’ commercial is not only witty but leaves you hooked to the screen right off the bat. This is one of those funny commercials aired in the UK.

3. Samsung+6 Underground+Ryan Reynolds

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbqw5foE7Mg&feature=emb_title

Ryan Reynolds is a feast for the sore eyes in this commercial where there’s an ad within an ad within an ad. This is a great funny product commercial for three different products at once—humor in marketing (in marketing about marketing) at its best.

4. Coke Zero

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=30&v=QJwfqKaE8P0&feature=emb_logo

The man with a witty sense of humor – Ken Jeong proves that, when it comes to Coca Cola’s Coke Zero at least, we don’t need to say “OR,” we can just say “AND.”

5. Amazon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=90&v=iNxvsxU2rJE&feature=emb_logo

This ad is 90 seconds of first-rate humor. Amazon managed to nail their messaging with Alexa completely – they invent fake problems and build the Ads around those problems – which lets them make their Ads funny, seemingly at their own expense, yet without ever actually making fun of the “real” Alexa.

14 Classic Ads From The Golden Era Of PIA

6. Pringles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=30&v=96ELLT17GYQ&feature=emb_logo

Pringles collaborated with Rick and Morty to create an ad that would blow you away and also force the viewers to laugh their heads off. The band played it smart and hit the right chord with their target audience.

7. Pepsi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=YHIaqfjJJ3s&feature=emb_logo

This commercial is a personal fav. Pepsi hit the mark when they drafted a flawless script for this ad. So, would you go crazy in an interview to scare off all the other candidates – to come to the aid of your bro, the one who wants to get the job?

Yes. You would because you drink Pepsi Max. A confusing message – but still a hilarious commercial.

8. Snickers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=SLAV4LYO-yU&feature=emb_logo

Snickers’ 2020 Super Bowl Ad took their “you’re not you when you’re hungry” message and supersized it to another degree – as an entire movement of upset people dug a hole, and fed the world snickers.

9. Doritos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-P0Hs0ADJY&feature=emb_logo

“Insert Doritos Hɘrɘ for timɘ machinɘ.” From the caption on the cardboard box to this kid’s adorable acting – there is pure delight on the time traveler’s face that sells the product.

10. Zazoo Condoms

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K45m79fEyz8

Gold stars for being so talented and humorous. It’s not easy too hit the mark with a product such as this, but it’s safe to say that this commercial hits the mark.

LG To Introduce A New Wing Smartphone With Twisting ‘Dual’ Screens

New Wing Smartphone

On August 25th, Android Authority leaked a video confirming the rumors that had been going around for some time now. In that video, we can see a phone that has twisted double screens. And then, the official channel of the brand announced that LG to introduce a new smartphone that can twist is authentic news.

First, the video leak.

So the video by Android Authority shows a driver using the navigation on his phone. But as you can see, the phone has been twisted to show the dual screens. On the vertical screen, he is using the navigation app. Meanwhile, on the horizontal screen, he has the music app opened.

The music gets paused when he receives a call. But impressive as it sounds, the navigation goes on. Now I don’t have to worry about getting lost when I have to switch to a phone call. I swear with these excellent phones coming out every other day, I will be penniless soon, but how can I pass on such an opportunity. Don’t you agree?

The Wing Look

Samsung Galaxy much? Okay, just kidding. It is interesting having a phone with multiple screens. We always discussed how our smartphones were computers, and they were, but with limited screens, it would just not be fulfilling enough.

But now LG is making Life Good by adding the possibility of having multiple screens. Thankfully though, they have not copied it from any other brand. Instead, they have added their twist, geddit? Twist?

The twisting phone adds another screen, so if you like the phone as it is, you can have that too, but if, for you, scenic visuals mean interesting techy stuff, twist away!

LG to introduces

The Official Teaser by LG

According to the official teaser by the company, the phone will be launched on September 14th. The phone is called Wing, and it will be a part of their ‘Explorer Project’ as they are calling it.

So what the explorer project is that the company will release a series of devices aimed at delivering ‘distinctive and unexplored usability experience’. With the categorization of the Explorer project, some other phones, such as Velvet, will fall in the Universal Line now. The Universal Line is going to focus on the consumer lifestyle so that the products will match that.

Morris Lee, the president of LG’s Mobile Communications Company, said:

“LG and platform partners feel it is vitally important to demonstrate to consumers new and differentiated user experiences in the smartphone space. LG has always been a pioneer in pushing the envelope of smartphone form factors, the only way to bring about much-needed innovation in the mobile market.”

So I guess it is decided then? When we hear ‘LG to introduce’ new phone, we will be throwing away all our money.

Challenges Of The Used Car Trade In Hyderabad And Multan

used cars pakistan

The automotive industry in Pakistan has been in peril since the start of 2019, where an influx of taxes on both locally manufactured and assembled cars as well as a steep devaluation of the rupee against the dollar saw prices increase up to 25% in some cases. On top of that, import duties on car parts and restrictions on the import of cars from Japan aided the spike in prices, which rendered many cars unaffordable by the general population, with many who can afford them, questioning whether the vehicle is worth the investment.

These factors, capped with the unprecedented circumstances that arose following the Coronavirus Pandemic, saw a 50% decrease in car sales in Pakistan in 2020 when compared to 2019. The used car market, which was already the more fastly growing industry, has now become the more affordable and safer choice. However, there are still numerous challenges the used car industry must overcome in cities like Multan and Hyderabad, where specific structural and operational changes seem dire.

Since there is no set standard of quoting prices of used cars in cities like Multan and Hyderabad, and various channels through which they are sold, this makes the pricing and valuation completely random unless someone with a trained eye and industry experience in doing so and in turn the price tags are often inaccurate and overpriced.

Another factor is that dealers themselves give arbitrary prices and raise the costs of those cars they feel will maximize profits. This also results in a particular model becoming more desirable and pricier than it should on the second-hand market. Dealers also rake in their commission on the cars which have appreciated, with a disproportionate increase in the value of an older model after an increase in the latest one.

Additionally, when individuals attempt to sell their cars, prices drop significantly as dealers try to maximize profit by vaguely inspecting cars and decreasing the cost for the slightest damage they can find. Another hitch in the current market is one of the delayed payments, with payments in the used car markets often being delayed where the dealers pay a fixed percentage for the car, hoping to resell it to pay off the remainder, which creates uncertainty and dissatisfaction on the seller’s end.

Although these drawbacks are not entirely exclusive to cities like Multan and Hyderabad, they used to be the norm in other major cities, until CarFirst launched in Pakistan to tackle and solve the problems consumers face in trading their used cars in Pakistan. CarFirst launched in 2016 with its primary aim to revolutionize the way used vehicles are sold in Pakistan.  They rallied its one-stop-shop services for all things related to cars, such as evaluation and inspection, certification, financing, insurance, live auctions, and many more. CarFirst has solved the problems of the used car market by bringing in regulation, transparency, instant payment, secure transfers, and hassle-free trading.

With numerous centers open nationwide, anyone can bring their car in for an expert inspection and receive a quote based on the result, where technical experts guide potential sellers on the current market and make an offer to buy it on the spot accordingly, regulating price and adding much-needed transparency to the process, while also solving problems of delayed payment safely and securely. Pakistan’s most trusted used car trading platform now looks to be set to launch operations in both Hyderabad and Multan, bringing their innovative model to uncomplicate the process and get ‘the fastest way to sell their car’ to these respective regions.

Shahveer Jafry Gets Trolled For His Latest Campaign!

Shahveer Jafry

A malt brand in Pakistan by the name of Amstel Malt recently launched a campaign called ‘I am Amstel.’ For this campaign, they onboarded Hasnain Lehri and took the drive to digital platforms with Influencer Marketing. One of the influencer celebrity in this scheme was Shahveer Jafry.

Shahveer Jafry uploaded an Instagram photo where he posed with a can of Amstel Malt. Among the 1.4 million followers, as it turns out, some followers are there just to troll. And that is precisely what happened with the new picture. The blogger started getting trolled. Here are a few examples of such trolls.

1. Umm okay…

It’s his body; he can do whatever he wants. So this troll implicates that may be Shahveer Jafry intends to show off his biceps. And if that works for him, how is that hurting you? And if it’s affecting you, here is a suggestion, unfollow!

2. Stalker much?

How would you know he is not drinking? Try a canned drink. You will see how full to the brim they are. So technically speaking, he may be drinking. But when you are posing for a shoot, you don’t drink, MR (or MRS.). Attend a live photoshoot, and you’ll know why.

3. Not a troll but a troll

So this is my favorite kind of troll. The one where they know their comment can be perceived negatively, and yet they don’t stop. They feel that if they just put a disclaimer, they will be free of blame. Umm, no, not really. Either you are a troll, or you are not. There is no grey here.

4. And we present a Phuppo

I swear the moment I read it, I thought of phuppos. Why be you like it? If someone is doing something, LET THEM! They are not asking you to teach them the ‘right’ way. And right is subjective, so just let it go.

5. What else?

Jee, aur kuch? Why don’t you give a TED Talk on how to hold a can? Uhoh, am I trolling the troll? Does that mean I am a troll? Or does it cancel out? Okay, I’ll worry for myself, but like, let the person do what they want as long as they are not hurting someone.

Shahveer Jafry

So please, guys, don’t troll. Not only does it depress the one getting trolled, but it also has a negative influence on you. So live and let live. Embrace this motto and trust me; even your life will become happier.
