There is no age limit in doing what you want to do. And if that involves education, there can be nothing better. A 76-year-old man who tried to study recently enrolled himself at the University of Malakand. He proved that it only depends on the level of comfort we are willing to forgo for what we want to achieve. Because if an older man in his 70s can choose to pursue his dream, anyone can.

When there is a Will, there is a way

A senior citizen from the province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took admission at the Univerisity of Malakand in BA part I. He requested financial assistance considering he could not afford the financial education. Continuing education in old age requires passion because of many factors, the top of which are ‘stereotypes’ and ‘what will people say.’ And looking past all that and only focusing on your dreams was what attracted the authorities. As a result, the university’s Vice-Chancellor decided to take responsibility for the older man’s entire education expense.

Oldman’s Dream and Wish

The older man did not want his name to be broadcasted. He said that he was thankful to the university of Malakand as it provided him a chance to continue his learning and polish his skills. Furthermore, he mentioned that he was not able to complete his studies earlier because of the financial barriers and the need to earn to evade poverty. He also thanked Allah, for he genuinely believed it to be a miracle that he was able to resume his education after decades.

Here is to hoping that just like this older man can complete his passion without many ordeals, any ordeal that could dishearten him. Moreover, he will be interacting with students and teachers who will all be younger than him. So let’s hope that they can give him respect as a senior citizen but also treat him somewhat equal, for he would also be as a student there.

Education System of Pakistan

Moreover, this news would also inspire the population to seek education. And it is much needed considering the education system of Pakistan. Because if we have more such examples, our government and the respected authorities will contribute to making education better and more efficient. People will be more willing to send their children not just to attain primary school but also to secondary and higher secondary. As well as, it will also lead to the availability of more fields than just the mainstream degrees offered.

We wish the 76-year-old student all the best and hope that he is the beacon of hope for many more aspirants.

7 Techniques That Will Make You A Better Driver!

7 Techniques That Will Make You A Better Driver!
PC: Google Sites

There’s more to being a responsible driver than just obtaining a driving license. Driving is about focus, precision, the ability to make decisions in seconds, following the rules, and much more.

When behind the wheel, you are not only responsible for your life and the lives of your passengers, but also pedestrians and those in passing vehicles. Hence, you must take this task seriously.

There are many tips and tricks that help you become more skilled. Hence today, we will share a list of 7 techniques that will make you a better driver.

7 Techniques That Will Make You A Better Driver!

1. Adjust The Mirrors, Seat & Gears Before Moving Out

PC: Driving Tests

Often you’ll see drivers fidgeting around the mirrors or seats in between the journey. However, it is always a good idea to position everything accordingly before you head-off so that you are not distracted.

2. Sit-In Proper Driving Position

Slouching and sinking in the car seat will not only hurt your posture but make you feel down and uncomfortable. Sitting in an upright position will help you stay focused on the roads and will help you maintain a proper body frame. Hence, keep your hands on the wheel, back straight up, and chest at least a foot away from the airbag module.

3. Take Advance Car School Courses

PC: Pakistan Today

If you still feel like you do not have complete control over your focus when driving, its always a good idea to take car-control driving lessons from driving schools. This will help you improve your skills and prepare you for the road, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

5 Mistakes To Avoid When Buying Your First Car

4. Pay Attention To Traffic Lights

Unfortunately, in Pakistan, following the rules at a traffic signal is super hard for many individuals, be on a bike, in a car, or other means of transport. For your safety, you must keep your eyes on the traffic light to ensure you don’t accidentally ram into someone who is trying to break a signal.

5. Say “No” To Aggressive Driving

PC: The Indian Express

Yes, you’re starving and can’t wait to get home to that piping hot plate of food, or that an important meeting is about to start and you are stuck in traffic. Whatever the situation may be, you don’t have the right to put others around you in danger as you drive like a maniac trying to take cuts and speed over the limit. A meeting delayed can be excused, and food can be re-heated, but lives can’t be returned once lost.

6. Fasten Seatbelts

A majority of the families in Pakistan do not buckle up their seatbelts. Many vehicles do not have seatbelts inside them. The belts help protect you and your family members from brutal accidents.

Belts are designed to tighten when force is applied so that the person wearing the belt does not go flying across the vehicle! If you wish the safety of your family, make sure everyone is buckled up before leaving home.

7. Keep A Safe Distance

safe distance
PC: Naijauto

Another bad habit of Pakistani drivers is that many of them d not keep a safe distance between their vehicle and the driver in front of them. Maintaining a safe distance will allow you to hit the brakes on time without ramming into the car in the front. This will save you time and money and a trip to the expensive mechanic!

We hope these tips help you become better and more observant drivers.

Car Maintenance: 5 Ways To Prevent Costly Repairs

5 Ways Sleep Can Help You Lose Weight!

5 Ways Sleep Can Help You Lose Weight!

We still remember the time when our mothers used to recite a very famous Anglo-Latin phrase “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise” to make us sleep early at night. In childhood, nobody ever took it seriously. But as we grew older, the importance of this phrase dawned upon us and we realize how much an early-night sleep is a must!

Many might not even realize but a good sleep helps in reducing weight!

Below we present some powerful reason, backed by authentic researches to prove how you can maintain your slim and smart figure just by ensuring you sleep well!

Read it all here!

1. Bid Farwell to late-night snacking

Research reveals that people who sleep late at night always need snacks to binge on! Consequently, they consume an ample amount of food to satisfy their cravings.

Therefore, it is better to sleep rather than consuming calories that you don’t need. According to the research carried out by the University of Pennsylvania, the people who minimized their sleeping hours ( sleeping from 4 a. m. to 8 a.m ) gained more weight.  Meanwhile, those who rested well (sleeping from 11 p.m to 8 a.m.) shed calories, unlike their well-rested counterparts.

2. Burn Calories the Easy Way

The more you sleep, the more calories you will burn and the more energy you will have to do your daily tasks.

According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition’s study, the energy expenditure of a good sleeper is 5% higher than his weary counterparts. This means that the number of calories burnt, when you are not doing any work that gives you physical exertion, is higher than the number of calories burnt when you are working. Rest well, burn calories!

3. Boost Your Metabolism

Sleep boosts metabolism and the rate at which your body is reducing fat.

A University of Chicago study compared the weight-loss of sleep-restricted individuals (sleeping 5.5 hours) and well-rested individuals (sleeping more than 8 hours) While both groups lost six and a half pounds, for the well-rested group, half of it was fat and for worn-out participants, quarter of that weight was fat.

4. Junk Food Out, Healthy Food In!

Healthy sleepers shop better than tired, exhausted individuals. Sleep-deprived individuals buy nearly 1300 calories in food than well-rested individuals according to a recent study published in the journal ‘Obesity’.

5. Control the Amount You Eat

Sweden has carried out research to find out the difference of portion between two groups: sleep-starved and well-rested participants. They were asked to complete a computerized ‘ideal portion size’ test where they had to decide their serving size.

To everyone’s utter surprise, sleep-starved people filled their digital plate by adding 35 additional calories in their snacks as compared to the well-rested people.

So, all night owls, this is the time to maintain serious sleeping goals! After all, who wouldn’t love to have a comfortable, beauty sleep? Happy sleeping.

Hyundai Motors has surprised us with exciting news one at a time. Earlier, the automotive titan announced that the IONIQ brand would be focused on bringing new electric vehicles under its umbrella.

Now, the leading brand has demonstrated its strength in electric vehicles as not one or two, but three Hyundai KONA vehicles set a new range record.

The challenge was to go a maximum number of kilometers on a single electric charge.

Over three days, each Hyundai KONA electric SUV head-out on a journey to break the record. The ultimate goal was to exceed 1,000kms each.

According to the result, each SUV traveled 1,018.7, 1,024.1, and 1,026.0 KMs, respectively, exceeding the goal of 1,000 km on a single battery charge. Moreover, each distance also represents a record of 64 kWh battery capacity.

“This mission has proven that our KONA Electric offers outstanding electric performance, efficiency, and battery range,”-Michael Cole, President, and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe

“This lifestyle-oriented vehicle will continue to offer customers a range of sophisticated technology and attractive design of a compact SUV in addition to all the advantages of an environmentally friendly electric vehicle.”

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy Hyundai Tucson In Pakistan

The 35-hour extended test for a new range breaking record took place at Lausitzring, a racetrack in northeast Germany.

Dekra, a European vehicle inspection company, monitored the process and took notes of the 36 driver changes.

The Hyundai vehicles used in the test were factory-spec and unmodified, equipped with standard Nexen N Fera SU1 low rolling resistance tires in the 215/55R17 size.

It is also important to mention that each vehicle’s entertainment system, as well as air conditioning, were turned off for maximum power. Only the daytime running lights were used to comply with legal road traffic requirements during the test.

Even on the third day, with 0% charge left, the vehicles were able to drive for several hundred meters before coming to a complete stop.

With this test, the KONA Electric confirmed what many of our customers already know: it is a reliably efficient and eco-friendly lifestyle SUV that is practical for everyday use, -Jürgen Keller, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Deutschland GmbH

Customers driving the KONA Electric or other Hyundai EVs can expect to drive long distances without recharging or feeling range anxiety.

As the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) increases, brands are doing everything they can to meet consumer expectations.

Hyundai has decided to turn its Ioniq brand into a sub-brand for its EVs. After this decision, the Ioniq name will no longer be limited to one particular vehicle.

Moreover, the titan plans to launch 3 EVs under the Inoniq name within the next four years.

It is expected that the brand will launch the Ioniq 5 (compact hatchback) in early 2021, the Ioniq 6 (sedan) in 2022, and the Ioniq 7 (SUV) by early 2024 respectively.

The expected EVs which will be announced under the sub-brand include a compact hatchback based on Hyundai 45, a sedan based on Hyundai Prophecy, and an SUV.

With vast potential in the Hyundai lineup, we expect the automotive titan to produce even greater builds and bring the best for its consumers and in the markets.

Congratulations to Hyundai for a remarkable achievement.

5 Mistakes To Avoid When Buying Your First Car

5 Mistakes To Avoid When Buying Your First Car
PC Gulf Times

Buying your very first car can be very exciting. Not only do you feel proud of yourself, but you also invest your money in something you have been looking forward to for a long time.

While the power to buy your first car is thrilling, there are a few mistakes drivers make. These mistakes can be anything, from not having enough research to saying the wrong thing in front of the car salesperson.

To save yourself from regretting spending lakhs on something you’d regret, here are five mistakes to avoid when buying your first car!

5 Mistakes To Avoid When Buying Your First Car

1. Don’t Go With The ‘Eeny Meeny’ Method

The biggest mistake you can ever make when purchasing a new car is to walk into a showroom and use the ‘eeny meeny’ method to pick one randomly. It would help if you were sure about which car you want to buy. For this, you’ll have to conduct proper and thoro research.

For example, conduct basic research on what is the difference in a sedan and a hatchback, which car offers better mileage, which car has more features that cater to your need. Do some digging about the offers the brand or showroom may be offering.

2. Don’t Drool Over The First Car You See

cars
PC: Sayidaty

It’s relatively easy to fall in love with a car as soon as you set your eyes on it. But, first love is not always the right one or the last one. The vehicle may be attractive in terms of its exterior, but it may not be the right choice for you when it comes to its interior, cost of maintenance, fuel average, and more.

When the salesperson realizes that you are fixed on one car, he or she will do everything to sell it to you; they won’t even offer to show you better options that you can get probably for a better price.

3. Focusing Too Much On Monthly Payments

For many drivers, monthly payments are like a honey trap they are lured into. A skillful dealer can get you into almost any car at a given monthly payment by tinkering with the terms of the deal.

One example of this can be that you tell your dealer that you want to pay Rs—15,000 monthly for a car. A sharp dealer can get you to sign a 7-year car loan at high interest for Rs. 15,000 monthly.

In the end, it’s your loss.

Car Maintenance: 5 Ways To Prevent Costly Repairs

4. Falling For Dealer Deals

Once you have decided on a car, the dealer will try to sweet talk you into buying some deals which they will claim are exclusive to the dealership only. The contracts can be anything from a paint job to rim insurance, extended warranties, and more. The truth is that these unnecessary items and deals may cost you more than a professional mechanic may charge for the same thing.

5. Visit More Than One Dealership

car dealers
PC: US-Info

Each dealership operates differently. Just because there may be one near to your place or because a relative bought a car from it mean its perfect for you. Be sure to have visited at least 3-4 different dealerships to learn about their payment methods, price plans, markups, etc. Once you have all the information, you can lock one down.

Now that you are aware of 5 mistakes to avoid when buying your first car, we hope that the experience remains ecstatic for you.

COVID-19 Recovered Patients Are Reporting Hair Loss Months After Infection

COVID-19 Recovered Patients

Known for Charmed, American Actress Alyssa Milano publicly discussed her coronavirus battle. She mentioned that she had COVID-19 in April. In the next post, she highlighted how COVID-19 Recovered Patients are facing a tremendous amount of hair loss.

She said in a video while she combed her wet hair:

“I just wanted to show you the amount of hair that is coming out of my head, as a result of COVID.”

After combing three strokes, she brought to the screen a vast amount of hair. And continued combing. Showing another ball of hair, she said, “One brushing, this is my hair loss from Covid-19. Wear a damn mask.”

Medical Opinion on COVID induced Hairloss.

COVID-19 symptoms that people know off are a dry cough, fever, tiredness. The lesser-known and rarer symptoms include aches and pains, diarrhea, a sore throat, loss of taste or smell, and a rash. So what if hair loss is one of the lesser-known symptoms?

Dr. Rekha Santosh of Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi, tells a news publication that Hair loss is not a Covid-19 symptom.

She added:

“However, some patients experience excessive hair fall a few weeks after being infected with Covid-19. This is called telogen effluvium, which can be triggered by any severe illness and also medications used during the treatment of Covid-19. However, this hair loss is temporary and resolves itself.”

Dr. Osman El-Labban, the head of the department of family medicine at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, seconded the opinion.

He told a publication:

“Although the list of Covid-19 symptoms from the US [Centres for Disease Control and Prevention] does not include hair loss, we are seeing an increasing number of reports denoting that patients who had Covid-19 two to three months ago are now experiencing hair loss.
The phenomenon is telogen effluvium, non-scarring hair loss that is the result of an abnormal shift in follicular cycling … more hairs are going into the resting phase, resulting in more hair falling out, particularly from the top of the scalp.”

Dr. El-Labban mentioned that such a phenomenon is not uncommon and is seen plenty of times.

He said, “Essentially, it is temporary hair loss from excessive shedding due to a shock to the system. There are several common triggers, such as surgery, major physical or psychological trauma, any kind of infection or high fever, extreme weight loss, or a change in diet. Hormonal changes, such as postpartum or menopause, can also be a cause.”

The Actress’s COVID Journey

The actress revealed now, in mid-August, that she had contracted COVID. Her actual words were, “I had basically every Covid-19 symptom”.

View this post on Instagram

This was me on April 2nd after being sick for 2 weeks. I had never been this kind of sick. Everything hurt. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t keep food in me. I lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks. I was confused. Low grade fever. And the headaches were horrible. I basically had every Covid symptom. At the very end of march I took two covid19 tests and both were negative. I also took a covid antibody test (the finger prick test) after I was feeling a bit better. NEGATIVE. After living the last 4 months with lingering symptoms like, vertigo, stomach abnormalities, irregular periods, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, zero short term memory, and general malaise, I went and got an antibody test from a blood draw (not the finger prick) from a lab. I am POSITIVE for covid antibodies. I had Covid19. I just want you to be aware that our testing system is flawed and we don’t know the real numbers. I also want you to know, this illness is not a hoax. I thought I was dying. It felt like I was dying. I will be donating my plasma with hopes that I might save a life. Please take care of yourselves. Please wash your hands and wear a mask and social distance. I don’t want anyone to feel the way I felt. Be well. I love you all (well, maybe not the trolls. Just the kind people.)❤️

A post shared by Alyssa Milano (@milano_alyssa) on

On August 6, Alyssa shared an Instagram photograph from April, where she wore a home ventilator. The caption read, “This was me on April 2 after being sick for two weeks. I had never been this kind of sick. Everything hurt. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t keep food in me. I lost nine pounds in two weeks. I was confused—low-grade fever. And the headaches were horrible. I basically had every Covid-19 symptom.”

She highlighted how both times she went for COVID testing; the result was negative. Additionally, the test for antibodies came out negative as well. And that was concerning considering it portrayed flaws in the US testing system.

“After living the last four months with lingering symptoms like vertigo, stomach abnormalities, irregular periods, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, zero short-term memory and general malaise, I went and got an antibody test from a blood draw (not the finger prick) from a lab, and I am positive for COVID antibodies. I had Covid-19.”

The actress has decided to direct attention to the importance of social distancing and protective measures.

“I just want you to be aware that our testing system is flawed, and we don’t know the real numbers. I also want you to know; this illness is not a hoax. I thought I was dying … I will be donating my plasma with hopes that I might save a life. Please take care of yourself. Please wash your hands and wear a mask and social distance. The G suite services are experiencing a disruption all around the world. About 3000 reports have been generated in two hours as Google suffers an outage.

You’re Not Alone

If you can’t send your email right now or if your google doc won’t open, you’re not alone. Ever since midnight, users of G suite services are complaining about disruptions. The disruption is also most concentrated at Gmail.

Google Confirms The Issue

The Google apps status page is also just updated to confirm that they have received reports of an issue with Gmail and Google Drive.  If you’re active on any social media platform, you’ll know that thousands of users are reporting a problem with Gmail and Google Drive. Since it’s also a weekday, we can only imagine the inconvenience for those on deadlines… Yikes!

Moreover, Slack, a website mainly used by workers to work collectively is also having a downtime. This is a nightmare for all working individuals but especially those who are working from remote areas.

Google Update

Google’s status page has noted that they are continuing to investigate the issue. It has also been updated to indicate reports of problems with Google Meet, Google Voice, and Google Docs, while anecdotal reports show people are having issues uploading to YouTube as well.

These are the two statements Google has put out:

8/20/20, 1:29 AM: We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.

How To Operate With What You Have

While our email may be working, the error is showing in a different form for many. For instance, when you try to attach a file, it shows a slow loading process. If it completes, that too after several minutes too much, it leads to an error asking you to check your network. It’s the same thing many others are experiencing, but at least it’s working a little. So if you want to send an email through Gmail right now, don’t attach anything for starters.

Punjab University Professor Claims That Only Women Harass Men

In today’s news, a professor of Political Science at Punjab University has made a wild claim. Keep a check on yourself while you read what he wrote. We have a feeling your minds will be blown, quite literally!

Reversing The Status Quo

Professor Rana Eijaz Ahmad has perhaps been living in an alternate universe because there isn’t anything else that can justify his viewpoint. He, very confidently and emphatically, believes that it is men who are harassed by women, not the other way around.

Yes, you heard that right. That is his thesis, and according to him, there is scientific and logical reason to back this claim up. Moreover, he uses the example of Hazrat Yousaf AS to prove his claim. The example or the angle we are yet unaware of.

Read His Tweets For Yourself!

 Why This Matters

Many, who are reading his tweets, are just choosing to look the other way. A fair share of men like Ahmed sprout each day with such claims. These claims are directed at women and attempt to subvert the importance of the #metoo movement. However, as nonsensical or attention-seeking as this may be, it matters.

This is not to say that women have never and can never be perpetrators and abusers. They can be, and there are as well. However, the difference in numbers is ridiculous in the case of men versus women. Moreover, such women act as exceptions in the system. Our entire society operates in a mechanism that does not favor women.

women harass men

Due to his credentials, sexist and misogynistic men will find a justification to believe him. He’s educated, isn’t he? He knows what he’s saying! We have a feeling Ahmed’s research will be full of fallacies and based in an alternate universe, but then, his research will also be something that can back the former category of men.

“It’s been proved in a study that only women harass men” will be the new anthem.

Remember The Child From Drama Ankhahi? Look At Him Now!

If you remember Ankahi, you must remember the little child who was a part of the cast. He’s finally been found again, and you’ll be shocked!

They Grow Up So Fast

A page on Facebook titled ‘Pakistan in the 80s and 90s’ was trying to find the actor, and they were finally successful. Faisal Ali, aka Jibran from Ankahi, now lives in the United States with his family. He left the media industry a long while ago and since then has pursued his studies. He has a profession in another industry and is happily married!

Who would’ve thought that the next time they see the little Jibran, he’ll be a married man?

Check Out The Post Here

Ankahi Circa 1982

There will be many who won’t even know what Ankahi is. The drama that aired in 1982 was a hit then and still lives in the hearts and minds of many others. The story revolved around the girl Sana, whose father passed away very early in her life. Her family wasn’t well to do, and what’s more is that Jibran had a hole in his heart.

To finance her family, she finds a job. The wit and humor in the drama came from Sana’s clumsiness and her forgetfulness. The producing team of Ankahi was the same team that brought to us Tanhaiyaan, probably the best TV serial Pakistan has ever witnessed.

If you haven’t seen it yet, there is still time for you to redeem yourself! Binge on the best from the 80s from your very own country.

The Good Ol’ Days

There are hardly any elders who don’t wish to go back to the old days. Their nostalgia times are more justified than ever now, especially since we’re going through a pandemic… No big deal, right?!

The dramas in the olden days were also unlike anything. The quality of the plot, the immaculate dialogues, and the acting of the people set a very high benchmark. And sadly, not many have been able to compete with that level of a classic.

Now, you have plots in which women are faking to be victims of domestic violence. Husbands are cheating, or there is a monster mother in law who can’t help but make the lives of others hell.

We say bring back Tanhaiyan and Ankahi!

Jazz Successfully Deploys Pakistan’s First 400G Network

400G Network

Islamabad – 19 August 2020: Jazz, Pakistan’s number one 4G operator and the most significant internet and broadband service provider, has successfully deployed the country’s first 400G technology on its fiber-optic network. This development will significantly benefit customers with faster and higher data requirements. The increase in data capacity on this 400G network can deliver high speeds equivalent to over 180,000 HD video streams at the same time or more than 70,000 songs downloaded in a single second.

Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim said, “We see that customers are increasingly using high-bandwidth applications which resultantly, puts pressure on existing data networks. Our 400G technology enables us to deliver faster and more data on the existing network to meet the growing demand. Jazz is committed to developing a digital ecosystem that supports the evolving technology needs of individuals and businesses.”

The demand for broadband speed and volume grows exponentially with a rise in low-latency activities like virtual meetings, online gaming, video streaming, etc., there is an urgent need to deliver more data through existing fiber networks. This 400G technology solves most issues because it significantly increases the data-carrying capacity of existing systems without any changes to infrastructure and can deliver up to 400 billion bits of information per second.

400G Network

While projects like smart cities take shape in the country, and emerging applications make use of technologies like VR, AR, 4K, 8K, 16K and the Internet of Things, Jazz believes that investment in more adaptive networks that foster innovation and enable the delivery of more advanced services are paramount.

Jazz CTO Khalid Shehzad said, “This technology essentially allows us the freedom to provide more data at greater speeds through a programmable network that we can ramp up, like flicking a switch. Such a sustainable technology creates the basis for many subsequent developments including smart city solutions, ultra-fast internet including 5G, and further opportunities to be jointly developed with public authorities.”

It is also pertinent to mention that this is not the first step that Jazz has taken to future proof its network against the growing data demand. Recently, the mobile operator successfully launched 200G technology on its long haul optical transport network and 100G on its metro networks.

Jazz’s 400G network is for now carrying live customer traffic across the Lahore metro region with plans underway for further expansions.

Major Spoiler For Money Heist Season 5 And What To Expect

Money Heist season 5

Money Heist, the show that took the world by storm and had episodes that make you bawl, is coming to an end. Netflix has confirmed that the up and coming season 5 will be the last installment in the series. But, season 5 is ready to pack a punch before it concludes!

The Release Date

Netflix has also confirmed that the legendary Spanish series will be released in August 2021. A few days ago, the shooting for the final season began. Several actors, including the feisty Tokyo, put up some teasers about going back to the roles! Kudos to the team for trying to film even during the current times.

 The Money Heist Phenomena

The series has smashed most records on Netflix.  It holds the current record of being the most-watched non-English title on Netflix.

With season 4, the series also smashed all of the previous records it set. The fourth part of Money Heist managed to rack up an incredible 65 million views. It also consistently ranked in the top 10s in many countries, not just within Spain! A documentary on Money Heist also came out, which was loved just as much.

What To Expect From Season 5?

Season 4 concluded with the gang being in the middle of the heist still. Lisbon has just joined the gang back inside the bank, and Gandia was played in the classic Professor style. However, the problem is that the Professor himself has been caught red-handed by the heavily pregnant, Alicia!

There have been plenty of theories about Alicia, to begin with. Maybe her pregnancy is a cover; perhaps she’ll join the Professor, or maybe she’s the ex-wife of Berlin! While none of these is yet confirmed, the fans are building their excitement by speculating more and more.

Back in the bank, the gang is now beginning to plan their escape. We know the team is continuing in the basement to melt down the gold into small balls for extraction. Of course, the big question that will come is whether the team can keep their freedom. Is it even possible for them to live healthy lives? After all, all their identities are out in the open.

Spoiler Alert!

Berlin’s character was one that invokes extreme emotions. Fans of the show either love him deeply or hate his guts. However, there’s a piece of good news for the former because reports are that he may be returning!

Bounty Becomes The Most-Hated Celebrations Chocolate!

bounty

In a recent poll on Twitter, people were asked to vote for their least favorite chocolate in Celebrations. More than 12,000 people had to choose between Bounty and Snickers. Did you guess who the winner was? Or will that be the loser? Okay, that is confusing. It was Bounty. Well, that was not surprising. However, the surprising part was that it broke the internet!

Bounty has not been a very celebrated Celebrations, but Twitter saw Bounty lovers and haters treating Twitter as their battlefield.

So what happened was that on 10th August LADbible tweeted two polls asking:

If our friends at Celebrations were thinking of shaking up the chocolate mix, which one should get the chop?”

In this first poll, Bounty stood against Galaxy, Maltesers, and Galaxy Caramel. Bounty won the hated chocolate poll by a landslide. It stood at 63.7 percent. Galaxy Caramel was at a very distant second i.e., at 16.4%. Following that, the Galaxy stood at 10.9% and Malteser at 9%.

The next poll by LADbible was a difficult one for the participants, and that is evident from the results.

Snickers achieved 30.6% of the votes. Meanwhile, Bounty again emerged victorious, with 69.4% votes. At the end of the poll, the chocolate gained the title of being the most hated Celebration chocolate. But that sparked debate with Bounty fans who must be among those 30.6% people choosing Snickers.

The lovers responded with mixed emotions at this treatment.

1. The rioter

They are rioting because who wants to taste shoe leather if they have a better option.

2. The pacified one

Simon requested all the 12,000 voters to send him the chocolates if they are not going to eat them.

3. The one who studied poo

Well, love is love. What can we say? If they love Bounty, there is no way they will accept it without a tantrum. Am I right, or am I right?

But then there were Bounty haters who got no chills. They just refused to be the bigger party without boasting it in the Bounty lover’s faces.

1. The one with the sass

The burns he spread. It was like he wanted to remind them that it doesn’t mean that the rest love Bounty. Well oops.

2. The one with the justifications

Because having coconuts defines the good, the bad, and the crazy.

3. The Truth Advocate

Well, if you put it that way, we cannot say anything. Not that we were going to.

Polls created, titles distributed, internet broken, if these are all not the markers of disaster, I don’t know what is.

7 Best Aftercare Tips For Your New Piercings!

piercings aftercare

Piercings are all fun and games until they start bothering you. While there isn’t a “best time” to get piercings done, it can help a lot with these aftercare tips if you get pierced in winters. Follow these steps to take care of your piercings like a pro!

Piercings

1. Ask your piercer to use a needle, not a gun.

The gun forces a lot of pressure on the tissue, causing unnecessary damage to the area. It’s also tricky sterilizing something that has plastic parts. When you ask for a needle, you get precision and least damage to your tissue. Moreover, it can be entirely sterilized.

2. Wash With Soap And Water Or Saline Solution Twice A Day

Don’t wash with rubbing alcohol twice a day if you have a fresh piercing. Alcohol can dry the piercing out, which can result in your skin cracking and bleeding. Use oil-based soaps because they not only clean, but the oil helps heal the wound.

3. Create A Routine

Before you touch your new piercing, wash your hands with soap and water. You can moisten the piercing with clean fingers and thoroughly clean the wound. After, rinse off the area with warm water.

4. Be Healthy

Staying hydrated is essential because, for your wound to heal correctly, it must not get dry. A healthy diet is always necessary, but it is especially after a piercing.

5. Change Your Habits

Avoid any trauma to the area. Bumping, snagging, or sleeping on the piercing can all result in your piercing getting inflamed.

Yes, you can “turn” the earring—but ONLY when it’s wet. If it is dry, don’t try moving it.

6. Patience Goes A Long Way

Understand that a cartilage piercing will require more caring than a lobe piercing. Cartilage piercings are more temperamental. They don’t necessarily hurt more, but the process of healing is complicated.

Piercings

Keep an eye out for signs of healing. Lobe piercings take around 2-3 months to heal, whereas cartilage takes 3-10 months. Once the piercing stops hurting, swelling, and secreting fluid, and any redness disappears, consider it healed!

7. Don’t Panic

Lastly, if your piercing is bothering you, don’t panic and don’t self-medicate. If you notice excessive swelling, redness, or if it is radiating heat and secreting fluid, don’t stress. Nine out of 10 times, your piercing is only irritated and not infected. However, if the problem persists, take it to your piercer, not anyone else!

Follow these aftercare steps to be positive and careful while healing your piercing and look rad in no time!

Netizens Angry Over Agha Ali Making Fun Of Pakhtuns!

Agha Ali

Agha Ali has been churning out problematic statements more than TV dramas, and it’s not looking good. The star is now on the receiving end of more backlash as an old video surfaced.

Some Things Aren’t Funny

In the said video, he’s at a show again with three other people. One of them is also Neelam Munir, and we think that’s where he got the trigger for his jokes. His joke was based on Pathans and Pashto! As stereotypically problematic as it gets, Agha Ali said he’s never heard a Pashtoon talk nicely.

Agha Ali

He also then proceeds to copy the language and say gibberish, passing it off as Pashto. The host even questions — “do Pashtoons not have romance?” To which he conveniently replied along the lines of “No, I’ve never seen that.” Neelam Munir, being a Pashto speaking individual, was sitting there and cackling as well.

This Is The Video

Why Is It Problematic?

It’s problematic because jokes like this perpetuate stereotypes against communities. And frankly, have you ever seen a stereotype benefit anyone in the long run? This is akin to the forwarded messages on Whatsapp that always have Sardars and Sikhs as the butt of the jokes.

They’re not funny!

Pashtoons are already disgraced in the country due to several reasons. There’s the prejudice of them being immigrants, and there are millions of other stereotypes that have been plastered on their faces.

say no to stereotyping

Do we need another thing on which they can be made a laughing stock?

The Star Apologised!

Twitter Reacts

People on Twitter are conflicted; there are two sides to each coin. There are many Pashto speaking people and Pakhtuns who do not feel this to be insulting. They agree with the fact that their vocal style is rather bold and that they have been in similar positions.

On the other hand, many are upset at Agha Ali using their culture and their language to make people laugh for a mere 2 minutes. While he may not even remember joking about this then, such jokes can enforce a particular type of mindset in the long run. Especially because he’s a famous actor — people will follow his lead.

Cambridge Agrees To Revise O/A Level Grades Of Pakistani Students

cambridge exams
PC: NeMagPakistan

The Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) on Monday made a significant announcement that came as a sigh of relief for countless students.

The educational board announced that grades issued for June 2020 would not be lower than the predicted grade submitted by the school.

According to Cambridge;

if a grade that was issued last week higher than the predicted grade, the higher grade will stand.

Moreover, the CAIE has announced the grades for hundreds of thousands of students in Pakistan and around the world who sat during examinations under the grade prediction method.

What Happened?

This decision comes after students took it to social media to share their concerns. These students also pointed out that their grades were unfair and discriminatory.

On the other hand, Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood, on his official Twitter account, tweeted about the news of CAIE agreeing to review its grading procedure for the recent O/A Levels results for Pakistan.

His tweet read:

As a result of our intervention conveying the anguish of our students, I have just heard that Cambridge has agreed to review its grading procedure regarding the recently declared results,

We will issue new grades as soon as possible. We will also share the new grades with universities and admissions organizations as soon as we can in the coming days. We will post the new grades to Cambridge International Direct -CAIE

To overcome obstacles and work towards the betterment of children, schools were asked to work in collaboration with CAIE.

In April, we asked our schools to work collaboratively with us. WE know teachers worked extremely hard to gather evidence and work out predicted grades, and we have viewed a significant proportion of the evidence schools used to make their PREDICTIONS. -STATEMENT by Cambridge International

The International Baccalaureate (IB) has shared that it will make adjustments to the awarded results for Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) May 2020 session, where applicable. To do so, it will use predictive grades as well as coursework (IA).

Student Reactions

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the examination system announced to suspend examination this year and introduce a predicted grading system based upon past performance and available evidence to issue certified certifications to students.

However, the announcement for an alternative grading system has to change after social media starts to lose their cool and started to spew hate.

However, plenty of students still have significant concerns.

These students believe that the prediction system will cause their grades to fall and hurt their qualifications, causing many of them to lose their spots in universities and at chances of acquiring scholarships.

We have now to see what the future holds for examinations in Pakistan and how long these examinations will be based on predictive grades.

Stay tuned to Brandsynario.
