A Speedy Summary of Netflix YOU S4 Before Joe Goldberg Returns this Thursday
Before Joe Goldberg possibly returns to our screens, let’s revisit the gory mayhem of his European escapade in Season 4 of Netflix YOU. Swapping Paris for London, Joe assumed the identity of Professor Jonathan Moore, hoping to leave his murderous past behind and embrace a quiet academic life. Of course, that didn’t last. Joe soon found himself entangled with a toxic circle of London socialites, thanks to his neighbour Kate Galvin and the charismatic author-turned-mayoral candidate Rhys Montrose. His plan to quietly observe from the sidelines quickly unravelled when members of this elite circle began dropping like flies — victims of the enigmatic “Eat the Rich” killer. Ominously, the murderer seemed to know Joe’s true identity and began tormenting him, framing him for the crimes.
A Different Joe
For the first half of the season, Joe became an amateur detective, frantically trying to uncover the killer while protecting Kate, with whom he shared a complicated relationship. He ultimately identified Rhys Montrose as the killer. But Part 2 revealed the season’s most shocking twist: Rhys — the killer and tormentor — was largely a creation of Joe’s fractured mind, a projection of his darkest urges that he had tried (and failed) to repress after faking his own death at the end of Season 3. Joe himself was the Eat the Rich killer, committing the brutal murders while in a dissociative state.
The real Rhys Montrose was merely a public figure Joe had fixated on. When the truth surfaced, Joe spiralled, leading to a dramatic confrontation with his imaginary “Rhys” and a failed suicide attempt. He was saved — only to fully embrace his murderous nature.
In a ruthless move to tie up loose ends, Joe framed his sharp-witted student, Nadia, for his crimes, effectively silencing her after she uncovered the truth. The season ended with Joe back in New York City, now alongside the wealthy Kate Galvin, who had come to accept him — darkness and all. To the outside world, Joe presented a sanitised, sympathetic persona, cleared of all charges and seemingly more powerful, guiltless, and dangerous than ever.
Joe Goldberg is back in his element — fully integrated with his killer instincts — and the stage is set for more deadly drama to come. Only Season 5 will tell what will happen next.

Who Could Replace Pope Francis? A Glimpse at the Possible Candidates
After the passing of Pope Francis, speculation is only natural about who could eventually replace him. A new pope is elected in a conclave — a private assembly of the College of Cardinals under the age of 80 — wherein the selection of the next leader of the Catholic Church is said to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Forecasting the outcome is notoriously difficult, since cardinals tend to seek out qualities appropriate to the perceived needs of the Church at that particular moment. The familiar maxim, “He who enters the conclave a pope, leaves it a cardinal,” testifies to this uncertainty.
Yet, based on their current positions, experience, and influence within the Church, a number of cardinals are frequently named by Vatican commentators as likely candidates, or papabili. A few notable ones include:
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle (Philippines, born 1957)
Credentials: Currently the Pro-Prefect for the Section of New Evangelisation of the Dicastery for Evangelisation. Formerly Archbishop of Manila and Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples. Holds doctorates in sacred theology.
Profile: Known for his pastoral warmth, communication skills, and focus on the “Church of the poor.” Seen by many as a symbol of continuity with Pope Francis’s vision and representative of the Church’s growing role in Asia. His relative youth is also a noted advantage.
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle
Cardinal Pietro Parolin (Italy, b. 1955)
Credentials: Vatican Secretary of State since 2013 — effectively the Holy See’s chief diplomat and administrator. Former Apostolic Nuncio to Venezuela. Holds a doctorate in canon law.
Profile: As a central figure in the governance of the Church during Pope Francis’s pontificate, Parolin represents experience, stability, and a deep understanding of both the Roman Curia and global Church diplomacy. Often viewed as a candidate for continuity and administrative efficiency.
Cardinal Pietro Parolin
Cardinal Péter Erdő (Hungary, b. 1952)
Credentials: Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest and Primate of Hungary. A respected canonist and theologian with doctorates in both fields. Twice elected President of the Council of Episcopal Conferences of Europe (CCEE).
Profile: Considered a leading intellectual with significant pastoral and administrative experience. Often seen as representing a more traditionally oriented European perspective, yet pragmatic and respected across theological lines.
Credentials: Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI). Long affiliated with the Community of Sant’Egidio, known for peace mediation and humanitarian work. Appointed by Pope Francis as his peace envoy for the war in Ukraine.
Profile: Respected as a pastoral leader with a strong commitment to social justice, interfaith dialogue, and peacebuilding. His influence within the Italian Church and alignment with Pope Francis’s vision of mercy and outreach make him a prominent candidate.
Cardinal Matteo Zuppi
Cardinal Charles Maung Bo (Myanmar, b. 1948)
Credentials: Archbishop of Yangon, Myanmar. President of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC). Member of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
Profile: Leads the Church in a nation facing profound political and social challenges. A strong advocate for democracy, human rights, and interreligious harmony in Asia. His election would highlight the Church’s universality and its expanding role in the Global South.
Cardinal Charles Maung Bo
Other Considerations:
This list is far from exhaustive. Cardinals from Africa, Latin America, North America, and other parts of Europe could also emerge as strong contenders, depending on the dynamics within the conclave. Factors such as age, health, linguistic ability, pastoral experience, administrative skills, and theological orientation all play a role.
Ultimately, the decision rests with the cardinal electors, who will seek divine guidance in choosing the best-qualified individual to lead the Catholic Church after Pope Francis.

Try to listen beyond the daily din. Below the whirr of servers and the wheezing sounds of engines — can you hear it? The laboured, ragged gasp of a planet stretched to its breaking point? Ditch the soft whispers; the Earth is sending signals, encoded in numbers and an nual conservation reports. Is our vibrant home showing the vital signs of dying?
Look at the Fever
Global temperatures have already risen about 1.2°C above pre-industrial levels, driving weather extremes once thought biblical. Record heatwaves scorch continents, reducing fertile land to dust. Megadroughts dry up riverbeds, while elsewhere, record floods drown cities. These are not anomalies; they are signs of a climate system being brutally destabilised.
Look at the Haemorrhaging of Life
Scientists say we have entered the Sixth Mass Extinction — caused by human activity. Species are disappearing at 100 to 1,000 times the natural background rate. One million species are projected to be at risk of extinction, many within decades. We are cutting the web of life strand by strand, losing pollinators essential to our food, forests that regulate our air and water, and biodiversity that forms the foundation of planetary health. Every year, millions of hectares of irreplaceable forest vanish, taking with them untold species.
The water bodies absorb much of our excess heat and CO₂, warming and acidifying — endangering marine ecosystems. Over 11 million metric tonnes of plastic waste pour into the seas every year, suffocating life and poisoning the food chain. More than half of the world’s coral reefs — colourful cradles of sea life — are already severely damaged or lost, bleached ghost-white from heat stress.
Most marine debris (80%) comes from trash and debris in urban runoff,
Our Water and Air Bear the Marks
Air pollution, primarily from fossil fuel combustion, causes an estimated seven million premature deaths worldwide annually. Freshwater sources are dwindling or becoming polluted with industrial and agricultural runoff.
These are not just statistics; they are failing vital signs. Loss of biodiversity, climate disruption, ubiquitous pollution — these are indicators of systemic stress, possibly pushing us towards catastrophic tipping points. We talk of progress, but our path resembles that of a parasite overrunning its host.
The resilience of the Earth is vast — but not infinite. The statistics present a grim picture, not of some distant threat, but of a crisis unfolding now. The question is not simply whether the Earth is dying, but how fast we are racing toward its death — and whether we have the will, as a nation and as a species, to change course before the diagnosis becomes fatal.

Nawaz Sharif's London Stay Extended—Political Talks or Health Issues?
ISLAMABAD, April 22: Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has prolonged his visit to London following new medical guidance from global experts. The three-time prime minister is still receiving comprehensive health assessments, which have delayed his return to Pakistan.
Sharif had first come to London from Belarus this month on what was intended to be a brief, two-week medical trip. However, experts tracking his condition advised further treatment and observation, and he extended his stay in the UK capital. Sources close to the PML-N leader confirmed that his medical team advised against travelling immediately because of persistent health issues.
Despite health priorities, Nawaz Sharif is politically active. He continues to have strategic meetings with top PML-N leaders and advisors who are stationed in the UK. The London chapter of the party has started making arrangements to organise a workers’ convention in his name, further emphasising his continued political significance. On April 12, PML-N workers, including top UK-based leader Ahsan Dar, received Sharif at Luton Airport, reflecting the party’s unity overseas.
Sharif’s prolonged stay in London is more than a matter of medical necessity—it also indicates his continued dominance over party policy and internal decision-making at a time of key political transition. With Pakistan facing exigent economic and governance issues, Sharif’s distance from the home front continues to be watched closely by political analysts and business interests alike.

Top Schools in Lahore: A Detailed Look at the Best Educational Institutions
When it comes to education, Lahore is no ordinary city. With a rich history, a flair for the arts, and a booming population of young minds, Lahore has become a hub for some of the best schools in the country. But with so many options out there, how does one decide on the right fit? Here is a list of the top schools in Lahore that don’t just churn out high grades, but nurture creativity, character and critical thinking.
List of Best Schools in Lahore: The Schools that are Shaping the Youth
It’s a battlefield out there. However, only some institutions are able to set themselves apart and become known as the best.
Here are the schools that the whole nation agrees on; perhaps the world too.
1. Aitchison College
When you think of elite education in Lahore, Aitchison College tops the list. And rightfully so. Aitchison College is known for its rich and illustrious history as one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious schools. It was founded during the British colonial period with the main goal of educating the children of Punjab’s ruling class and young men from respectable families.
This historic all-boys institution is more than just a school—it’s a legacy. It has a central 200-acre campus in Lahore containing academic buildings, sports facilities, and boarding homes. Known for its academic severity, the college also has affiliations with esteemed examination centres such as Cambridge and the Agha Khan Examination Centres. It even has its own SAT Centre registered under the American College Board.
The sprawling colonial campus alone feels like stepping into a different world. From horseback riding to cricket on pristine grounds, it offers facilities most schools can only dream of. But what truly sets it apart is the sense of brotherhood, discipline, and quiet confidence its students carry long after they graduate.
Important: Alumni of Aitchison include prime ministers, athletes, diplomats, and business leaders. So if a child is enrolled in Aitchison, there is a high chance that he is studying with one of the biggest names. Or perhaps he is the big name in question.

But beyond academics, LGS branches are known for encouraging student voice through clubs, debates, theatre and Model UNs. Furthermore, LGS actively assists its students in gaining admission to esteemed global universities, often aiding them in securing scholarships, thus paving the way for promising prospects.
Maybe this is the reason that LGS students are typically more confident and well-prepared for the global stage. Just be sure to visit a few branches—quality can vary.
Important: Branches like 55 Main, Paragon and JT are considered flagship campuses. It is recommended to opt for these campuses for the ultimate experience, as otherwise the quality of education might vary.

The investigation team has collected ample evidence against Armughan, Shiraz, and Kamran Qureshi in several cases of kidnapping and murder.
KARACHI, Apr 22: Investigators found a major lead in the Mustafa Amir kidnapping and murder case, where the main suspect, Armughan Qureshi, bought weapons from an illicit arms supplier in Peshawar, Inspector Muhammad Ali, the investigation officer, shared.
Inspector Ali introduced this disclosure at the court proceedings, where he recounted a statement by Kamran Qureshi, Armughan’s father. The authorities documented Kamran’s statement inside prison upon receipt of a court order. He acknowledged that his son had received the weapons from someone named Farhatullah residing in Peshawar.
In an exclusive interview, Inspector Ali confirmed that police had proclaimed Farhatullah a fugitive in the interim challan. Law enforcement officials have already initiated efforts to arrest and trace the arms dealer.
Inspector Ali also informed that he will submit the forensic report and case property next week. In the meantime, he will file the interim challan against co-accused Shiraz and Kamran Qureshi in the special court later this week.
He emphasised that the CCTV footage shows clearly that Armughan has fired at the police officials while conducting the raid, making the case of the prosecution stronger.
The authorities will shortly shift the murder case of Mustafa Amir from Hub, Balochistan, to Karachi to facilitate the trial and investigation process.
The investigation team has collected ample evidence against Armughan, Shiraz, and Kamran Qureshi in several cases of kidnapping, murder, and assault on police. Inspector Ali confirmed that the police will initiate full legal proceedings against the accused to serve justice.
In a parallel development, Judicial Magistrate South’s court, Shahzad Khawaja, conducted a hearing at Karachi Central Jail on Kamran Qureshi on illegal arms and drug charges. The jail administration, however, did not present Kamran in court.
The probe is ongoing at full pace as law enforcers step up efforts to bring all culprits to book.

As per police officials, the suspect—the girl’s maternal uncle—was arrested late last night in the Mandra area by a special police team. Officials confirmed that he was a drug addict.
The suspect was taken to Mureed Phatak under police escort after the arrest to recover the suspected murder weapon. Underway, however, the team was ambushed by unknown assailants who attacked them and sprayed bullets. The police retaliated in self-defence. The suspect was critically hit in the gunfight and perished before admission to the hospital. His body was subsequently transferred to THQ Hospital, Gujar Khan.
Police have initiated a search to track and arrest the unknown gunmen who attacked the team. Security in the areas around it has also been increased.

Pakistan's Mineral Wealth: Control at a Crossroads?
Pakistan rests on a geological goldmine, valued at trillions of dollars in minerals—from Reko Diq’s copper and gold in Balochistan to the massive coal deposits of Thar and precious gemstones scattered across its northern areas. Pakistan’s Mineral. And yet, with this huge potential, there has been one nagging question: Is Pakistan gaining control over its mineral wealth or losing it?
The situation is multifaceted. For decades, the development of these resources has been hindered by a combination of factors: long-term underinvestment, old technology, variable policies, bureaucratic barriers, and high security issues, especially in resource-rich but unstable areas. This has generally translated to Pakistan not having the indigenous capacity – both technical and financial – to develop its mineral industry on its own. As a result, foreign investment has become a requirement.
The Reko Diq Dilemma
The recent revival of the Reko Diq project, this time headed by Barrick Gold, is a good example of this. Such partnerships, while injecting vital capital, skills, and access to the international markets, inevitably lead to concerns about sovereignty and equitable benefits sharing. Arrangements made without tight regulation, transparency, and terms guaranteeing substantial long-term returns to Pakistan and its local population can seem more like takeovers and less like partnerships. The government’s effort like the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) seeks to streamline such foreign investments, but the long-term effects on national control must be carefully examined.
In addition, the ongoing problem of illegal mining, frequently working below the radar or in collusion with locals, is a straightforward loss of control and finances. It not only exhausts resources without adding to the national purse but also generates instability and environmental degradation, eroding state control in targeted regions.
Are We Heading Toward Sustainable Gains?
So, is Pakistan losing control? Maybe it’s better to say Pakistan is having a hard time establishing effective control and strategically managing its mineral resources. The problem isn’t so much overt foreign capture, but rather making sure that development, whether through indigenous effort or foreign collaboration, becomes concrete, sustainable gains for the country. This means strong governance, open contracts, investment in local capacity, strict environmental regulations, and making sure local communities are key beneficiaries. In the absence of a unified national plan covering these aspects, Pakistan stands to lose its buried riches to someone else’s advantage, essentially losing control over its own geological fate.

Is the America-China Tariff War Taking the Shine Off of Luxury
In the world of luxury, perception is everything. Designer brands have carefully cultivated an image of exclusivity, craftsmanship, and heritage for decades. But after a prolonged tariff war between the United States and China, those polished veneers are beginning to crack. What started as a geopolitical trade dispute is now exposing the underbelly of an industry built on illusion—and it’s shaking the foundations of luxury as we know it.
The Exposure Luxury Never Wanted
The luxury industry has always thrived in the shadows. Behind the scenes, high-end labels have quietly relied on Chinese manufacturing to meet global demand, all while clinging to the romance of “Made in Italy” or “Parisian couture.” But with tariffs disrupting global supply chains and triggering a wave of factory closures, that secrecy is now unraveling.
Chinese manufacturers, caught in the crossfire, are revealing long-held contracts with luxury brands. These aren’t mere accessories or components—entire handbags, shoes, and garments are produced in Chinese facilities, only to receive their final stitch or label in Europe. The illusion is broken: what consumers believed were handcrafted heirlooms are increasingly exposed as mass-produced goods with premium price tags.
The Exposure Luxury Never Wanted
The Rise of the “Factory Original”
This reckoning has birthed a new phenomenon—the “factory original.” These are near-identical products manufactured in the same Chinese factories used by luxury brands but sold unbranded, often at a fraction of the price. A handbag that would retail for $2,000 under a designer label can now be purchased for $300, made with the same materials, by the same hands, in the same place.
It’s not counterfeiting. It’s revelation.
And it forces an uncomfortable question: are we paying for quality—or just the name?
The Rise of the “Factory Original”
Luxury’s Vulnerability is Now Visible
While luxury conglomerates like LVMH, Hermès, and Kering might have once believed themselves immune to market volatility, the reality tells a different story. In recent quarters, even the titans have seen profits dip. LVMH, for instance, reported a drop in fashion and leather goods revenue, triggering market anxiety across the luxury sector. The brands blame macroeconomic headwinds and softening consumer demand—but there’s more at play.
Today’s aspirational consumers—the middle-class buyers who once saved for months to afford a single designer piece—are becoming disillusioned. With inflation biting and social values shifting, status symbols don’t hold the same appeal. Quiet luxury, with its muted tones and logo-less designs, has emerged not just as a trend but as a statement: wealth doesn’t need to scream anymore.
The irony? The very audience that luxury brands relied on to sustain their image is now turning away from them.
A New Age of Consumer Awareness
The tariff war has done more than raise prices—it’s raised awareness. Buyers are becoming smarter, more skeptical, and increasingly value-conscious. As more learn about the true origins of luxury goods, they begin to question whether the markup is truly justified. In an age of global transparency and digital access, mystique alone isn’t enough.
Brands can no longer rely on storytelling without substance. A logo, no matter how iconic, can’t hide behind trade secrets forever. When craftsmanship can be replicated, when materials are globally sourced, and when consumers have access to that information—it changes the game.
What Happens Next?
Some brands are trying to pivot. Louis Vuitton has opened production sites in the U.S., aiming to reduce reliance on overseas manufacturing and dodge tariff-induced price hikes. Others are considering similar moves. But the truth is, manufacturing alone won’t save luxury.
To stay relevant, brands must rethink what luxury means in this new world. Transparency can no longer be a liability—it must become a feature. Authenticity must be more than a slogan; it must be evident in every stitch and statement.
The tariff war may have begun as a battle over trade deficits, but its consequences have been far more nuanced. It has pulled back the velvet curtain, forced an industry reckoning, and perhaps, most importantly, empowered the consumer.
Luxury may still sparkle—but the shine now comes with questions. And it’s about time.

How to Prevent Sunburn and Skin Damage this Summer
Let’s be honest: everyone loves a good summer glow. But there’s a fine line between enjoying the sunshine and walking around looking like a lobster with regrets. Sunburn isn’t just annoying and painful — it’s a sign that the skin has been damaged. And over time, that damage adds up in the form of wrinkles, sunspots, and potentially something way more serious like skin cancer. Sike!
The good news? Preventing sunburn and skin damage is totally doable without turning into that person who hides inside all summer. Here’s how to be smart about it — and still enjoy every bit of Vitamin C the season has to offer.
1. Sunscreen Isn’t Optional. It’s the Bare Minimum.
If you’re still only applying sunscreen when you go to the beach, it’s time for a mindset shift. Sunscreen should be part of your everyday routine, not just for vacations and pool days. A broad-spectrum SPF 30 (or higher) is your best friend. Think of it like skincare armor; it protects against UVA rays (which ages the skin) and UVB rays (which burn the skin).
Here’s a tip most people ignore: Use more than you think you need. Most people underapply. And if you’re swimming, sweating, or just existing for more than two hours? Reapply. Yes, even if it’s cloudy.
Sunscreen Isn’t Optional. It’s the Bare Minimum.
2. The Sun is Stronger than You Think
Peak sunlight hours — between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. — are basically a UV warzone for your skin. If you’re planning outdoor time, aim for the early morning or late afternoon. Shade is your friend. No, sitting under a tree doesn’t make you uncool. It makes you someone who values their skin.
Also, invest in a UV index app. Knowing when UV levels are dangerously high helps you avoid unnecessary exposure and take action before you start sizzling.
The Sun Is Stronger Than You Think
3. Clothing Matters (And No, it Doesn’t Have to Look Nerdy)
Some people act like covering up in the summer is a tragedy. It’s not. Long sleeves and pants made from lightweight, breathable fabric can protect your skin without making you melt. Even better, look for clothing with a UPF rating. It’s like sunscreen, but for your clothes.
A wide-brimmed hat? Non-negotiable if you’re serious about keeping your face wrinkle-free. And sunglasses that block UV rays aren’t just about looking cool — they protect your eyes and the skin around them from long-term damage.
Clothing Matters (And No, It Doesn’t Have to Look Nerdy)
4. Think Beyond Sunscreen
Here’s where the real pros shine. Sunscreen is great, but adding extra barriers — like umbrellas, UV-blocking visors, or sun sleeves — gives your skin a break. Especially if you’re at the beach or by the pool, where the sun reflects off water and sand, giving you double the exposure.
And while we’re at it, let’s talk lip balm. Your lips can burn, too, and it hurts like hell. Get a lip balm with SPF and use it often.
Think Beyond Sunscreen
5. Hydration and Diet are Underrated Heroes
Dry, dehydrated skin is more vulnerable to sun damage. So drink more water — especially if you’re in the sun all day. But hydration goes beyond just fluids. Your diet matters too. Foods rich in antioxidants, like berries, leafy greens, and nuts, help your skin fight off damage from the inside out.
It sounds small, but it makes a difference. Your skin will thank you later.
Hydration and Diet Are Underrated Heroes
6. Stop Trusting the Clouds
If you think overcast days mean you can skip protection, think again. UV rays still get through, and they love to sneak up on you when you’re not paying attention. Sunburns on cloudy days are the sneakiest kind because you don’t even see them coming. Don’t be fooled — protect your skin no matter the forecast.
Live the Best Life in Summers
A bit of effort and common sense can go a long way in keeping your skin healthy, glowing, and free from damage. Summer is for living your best life, not nursing sunburns and worrying about skin cancer.
So slather on that SPF, grab a stylish hat, and enjoy the sunshine like a pro.

John Cena Makes History with 17th World Title at WrestleMania 41
John Cena has achieved what most thought was impossible — becoming the first-ever 17-time world champion in WWE history. In a dramatic, emotionally charged battle at WrestleMania 41, Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, shattering Ric Flair’s record of 16 world title reigns.
Source: Indulge Express
The bout, promoted as the “Showcase of the Immortals,” did not disappoint. Thirty minutes into a vicious back-and-forth, Cena, with an unexpected assist from rapper Travis Scott, was able to pin Rhodes and win the title. The crowd went wild as Cena stood tall, rewriting the WWE record books on what he says will be his last WrestleMania appearance.
Cena’s Last Ride?
This win wasn’t gold — it was about legacy. Cena has made repeated assertions that 2025 is his year of retirement, having informed the fans on SmackDown that Sunday would be “the last time I will ever compete in a WrestleMania ring.” In true Cena style, he went on to say, “No one has ever had the courage to end their career the way I have.”
However, even in retirement, Cena couldn’t help but make snide remarks about wrestling’s revolving door of returns: “There’s no such thing as a wrestling retirement,”he told us. “Every other wrestler is a scared, insecure loser.”
The Travis Scott Factor
Perhaps the most unexpected moment of the night was the entrance of Travis Scott, who not only hyped the crowd but also directly helped Cena secure the win. WWE fans were stunned as Scott, clad in Cena merch, distracted Rhodes just long enough for the 17-time champ to deliver the final blow.
Source: Yahoo Sports
Their backstage post-match celebration — shared far and wide on social media — created immediate buzz. It wasn’t merely a wrestling victory; it was a crossover cultural phenomenon.
If this really is Cena’s last match, he exits the ring not only as a champion, but as a legend who also rose above wrestling. From Tinseltown to charity work to the squared circle, John Cena has been a constant in showing us what it means to transcend.
And if this is goodbye, he ensured one thing: he didn’t merely exit on top — he exited by re-writing history.

Islamabad Beats Karachi Kings in PSL 10 to Remain Unbeaten
Islamabad United have asserted their dominance over the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 with a comprehensive six-wicket win against Karachi Kings, extending their record to four victories from as many games. While chasing a paltry 129, the team again demonstrated their strength in depth, with skipper Shadab Khan taking the lead with bat and ball.
Source: Bloom Paistan
After early wickets threatened to unsettle their chase, a composed 45-run stand between Azam Khan (31) and Shadab (47) steadied Islamabad. Despite Azam falling to veteran spinner Mohammad Nabi, and Shadab being bowled by Abbas Afridi with the scores level, Mohammad Nawaz ensured a smooth finish, nudging the winning single on the very next delivery.
Karachi Kings, asked to bat first, suffered a horror start. Their top order, including big names David Warner (3) and James Vince (4), failed to fire. Tim Seifert offered a brief resistance with 30, but the middle order collapsed spectacularly, with four batters departing in single digits. Karachi were reeling at 102-7 before Abbas Afridi’s explosive cameo of 24 off just nine balls lifted them to 128 by the end of the innings. It was a total that never seemed up to standard against a buoyant Islamabad side.

Shadab Khan: Leading from the Front
Shadab Khan keeps demonstrating why he’s one of the league’s most valuable players. Not only did he lead the chase with a smartly paced 47 off 40 balls, but his captaincy and poise under pressure were on show throughout the match. With the ball, he assisted in putting the squeeze on early and made key fielding adjustments that strangled Karachi’s momentum.
Islamabad Firm at the Top
The victory takes Islamabad United to the top of the table for the first time, four points clear of second-placed Lahore Qalandars, albeit having played one game more. Meanwhile, Karachi Kings stay third but will be concerned about their fragile batting line-up as the season unfolds
