Chief guest at the conference Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, emphasised the importance of climate change and urged organizations to step forward and play a greater role with the government to mitigate this challenge. Acknowledging Nestlé’s role, the chief minister said, “While visiting the conference stalls I was glad to see how organisations like Nestlé are already supporting efficient irrigation technologies like drip irrigation in regenerative agriculture practices.”
Jason Avanceña Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé Pakistan said, “We are committed to be a force for good, and our efforts underscores our commitment to sustainability and creating shared value for the people of Pakistan, as we take significant strides towards a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future.”

Nestlé announced its commitment to reduce its emissions versus 2018 by 20% by 2025, 50% by 2030, and reach Net Zero by 2050, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 and 15.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 may begin without the usual opening ceremony or captains’ press conference, following a revised arrival schedule of the participating teams.
This year, the English and Australian cricket teams will arrive in Pakistan closer to the tournament’s start. Sources from the ICC confirmed that England and Australia will arrive in Pakistan after their tours.
England is scheduled to conclude its tour of India by February 12, while Australia will finish its series in Sri Lanka on February 14.

The first match of the tournament, between Pakistan and New Zealand, is scheduled for February 19 in Karachi. A celebration for fans will be organised ahead of the match to highlight the excitement surrounding the event.

Leaked images and a video have given us a glimpse of Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4. The new design looks like a significant update for this popular budget-friendly model.
New Design Features
The leaked photos and video, shared by a known leaker on X, show two dummy units of the SE 4. These units come in black and white, with a single rear camera. The video gives us a better look at the front and back of the devices. Notably, it reveals several design changes.
One of the most noticeable changes is the USB-C port at the bottom of the phone. This would be a shift from Apple’s usual Lightning port. Additionally, there’s no Home button and the screen now has a simple notch at the top, replacing the previous design with a more advanced Dynamic Island.
What’s Inside the SE 4?
The leaker, Majin Bu, confirmed that the SE 4 will have a notch, rather than the Dynamic Island seen in newer iPhone models. Bu also mentioned that the SE 4 might be released in early April 2025, making it Apple’s first major release of the year.
In addition to this, Bu revealed that the SE 4 would come with a few premium features. These include an OLED display, offering better colour and contrast, and an action button above the volume controls. This would be a nice upgrade from the previous models.
In another post, Bu suggested that the phone might be branded as the iPhone 16E instead of the iPhone SE 4. However, there are no further details on why Apple might choose a new name for the device.
Why the SE 4 Could be a Game Changer
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to take budget iPhones to a new level with features like Face ID, an OLED display and a USB-C port. This new version could reel in even more customers looking for an affordable iPhone with updated features.
Overall, the iPhone SE 4 looks set to bring some major design and tech upgrades. With a likely release in early 2025, it will appeal to those who want a more affordable iPhone with modern features.

For more than 60 years, Spider-Man has been one of the most adored superhero characters of all time. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Peter Parker has been featured in comic books, animated TV shows, blockbuster movies and even Oscar-winning animated features. Disney+ now offers a new take on the friendly neighbourhood hero called “Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.” This in some ways redefines Peter’s early years with a nostalgic yet contemporary lens for today’s teen audience.
The Story Begins in Queens
The show starts in Queens, New York, where 15-year-old Peter Parker (voiced by Hudson Thames) is thrilled about his first day at Midtown High. But things go sideways when a terrifying monster attacks students right in front of him. Amid the chaos, Peter gets bitten by a radioactive spider, changing his life forever.
Months later, Peter starts at a new school, Bales High, after Midtown gets destroyed in the attack. He juggles friendships with best friend Nico Minoru (Grace Song), his crush Pearl Pangan (Cathy Ang) and popular quarterback Lonnie Lincoln (Eugene Byrd). Meanwhile, he’s secretly embracing his role as Spider-Man, swinging across NYC in a DIY costume. But balancing a hero’s life and friendships isn’t easy.
Balancing Power and Responsibility
Peter longs for a mentor, so when Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), CEO of Oscorp, takes an interest in him, it feels like a dream. However, Peter soon realises Osborn has his own hidden motives. This creates major tension—should he trust the businessman or follow his morals?
Meanwhile, the city is in trouble. Big Don (Ettore “Big E” Ewen) and his 110th Street gang are causing chaos in Harlem. Plus, ex-Oscorp scientist Otto Octavius (Hugh Dancy) is creating dangerous weapons that criminals are using. With these threats rising, Spider-Man has his hands full.
The animation, under the direction of Leo Romero and Polygon Pictures, features a mix of 2D and 3D styles to give it an old yet fresh look. The art style pays homage to ’90s cartoons and vintage comic books, visually setting it apart from any animated series. Retro fans of “Spider-Man: The Animated Series” and “The Spectacular Spider-Man” will love this.
The show also delivers big Marvel fan moments. Appearances from Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) add extra excitement—especially since both will star in the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.”
A Must-Watch for Spidey Fans
“Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man” offers lots of action and heartfelt moments while hiding several Easter eggs. Jeff Trammell and his team focus on Peter Parker but also on the world around him. It offers just the right balance of everything Spider-Man fans adore and knows how to appeal to new audiences as well.
The first two episodes drop on Disney+ on Jan. 29, with new episodes airing every Wednesday. Don’t miss out—this is one web you’ll want to get caught in!

President Asif Ali Zardari has signed three significant bills into law, including the contentious Prevention of Electronic Crimes Amendment Bill, 2025 (PECA), sparking widespread debate. The bill was passed by the National Assembly and later approved by the Senate before receiving presidential assent. Alongside PECA, the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill, 2025 and the National Commission on the Status of Women (Amendment) Bill, 2025 were also enacted.
The amended PECA law introduces stringent penalties for spreading false or fake information on social media. Under Section 26A, individuals found guilty of intentionally disseminating false content that incites fear, panic or unrest among the public could face up to three years in prison, a fine of up to two million rupees, or both. The law also establishes new regulatory bodies, including the Social Protection and Regulatory Authority, the Cybercrime Investigation Agency, and the Social Media Protection Tribunal, which will oversee online content regulation and enforcement.
According to the bill, authorities will have the power to direct social media platforms to remove or block content that is deemed harmful to national security, public order, or religious harmony. This includes content against the ideology of Pakistan, material inciting violence, hate speech, pornography and any posts making defamatory remarks against the judiciary, armed forces, or parliament. Furthermore, any content suspected of being false beyond a reasonable doubt could be subject to removal.
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly opposed the PECA amendments, arguing that the law is designed to suppress independent media, social media discourse and freedom of speech. The PFUJ has condemned the lack of consultation with stakeholders before passing the amendments and has announced a nationwide strike in protest.

Ever looked at someone’s glassy glowing skin and instantly felt like you wanted it? If yes, you should be on the lookout for a Vitamin C serum. Chockfull of antioxidants, Vitamin C also lightens dark patches, brightens out your tone and guards your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. Let us examine the most sought-after serums in the Pakistani market.
Why Vitamin C?
Let’s face it; in the world of skincare, Vitamin C is not only a buzzword but the ultimate glow enhancer. It helps lessen wrinkles, dark spots and visible acne scars. Moreover, vitamin C helps to reduce dullness and preserve your skin. These serums provide a good beginning whether you are an amateur or a professional in all things skincare.
Best Vitamin C Serum for Your Skin Type
When you take your skin type into account, getting the correct Vitamin C serum can be challenging. Since not all Vitamin C serums are equal, let’s consider what is ideal for your skin.
1. L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Brightening Vitamin C Serum
Price Range: Rs5000 – Rs7,000
L’Oréal’s Revitalift is one of the best choices in Pakistan if you are committed to brightening. This serum boosts your skin’s radiance and helps fade dark spots by means of a 10% pure Vitamin C punch. Perfect for oily skin, it absorbs fast and does not leave any greasy residue thanks to its lightweight texture.
2. The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
Price Range: Rs3,500 – Rs5,500
Internationally famous for its no-nonsense, efficient skincare products, The Ordinary has a strong Vitamin C serum perfect for both lightening dark spots and dealing with hyperpigmentation. Furthermore included is Alpha Arbutin, which assists in balancing out skin tone. This one is a game-changer if you suffer from uneven skin texture or acne scars.
3. Olay Luminous Tone Perfecting Serum
Price Range: Rs10,000 – Rs14,500
Another Pakistani favourite is the Olay Luminous Serum. This one targets dullness and dark spots with a Vitamin C and Niacinamide combination. It feels really smooth and creamy, so it should not irritate sensitive skin much. Especially beneficial for the dry skin type, this formula might be amazing for oilier skin types to get that extra dewiness.
4. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum
Price Range: Rs4,000 – Rs5,000
This cult favourite serum, containing Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid, contains 15 per cent pure Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, to help provide a greater all-round environmental defence.
5. Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Dark Spot Corrector Serum
Price Range: Rs5,500 – Rs9,000
Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Serum is a popular favourite for those experiencing dark spots and uneven skin tones. It blends vitamin C with Retinol to fast-track the skin’s natural renewal cycle. It’s very light; this makes it good for people who have oily and combination skin. It also doesn’t clog pores, hence giving you the smooth look you want.
Choosing the Right Vitamin C Serum for Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, you know the hassle of finding a serum that doesn’t make you feel like a greasy pancake. Vitamin C serums happen to come in lightweight, gel-based versions. For oily skin, The Ordinary and L’Oréal Revitalift are excellent choices since they will dry quickly without your pores getting clogged. High-potency Vitamin C in these serums will give you that glow without weighing you down.
Concentration: Look for at least 10% concentration of Vitamin C. Anything more and it could be irritating on the skin. Any less and you would not get what you want out of it. Packaging: Vitamin C is light-sensitive, so ensure your serum comes in an opaque, airtight bottle. Additional Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E and ferulic acid may complement the effects of Vitamin C for increased hydration and protection.
Remember, consistency is key. Introduce your Vitamin C serum of choice into your skincare routine and give it some time. In just a few weeks, you’ll start noticing a brighter, smoother complexion. Don’t forget sunscreen, though, because Vitamin C works best when paired with SPF.
Happy glowing!

The £4.7 billion funds reportedly financed Chelsea FC from 2004, when Abramovich, through associate Eugene Shvidler, managed investments via British Virgin Islands companies.
These also helped finance Chelsea’s significant spending on transfers and wages. Abramovich initially bought the Premier League club from Ken Bates in 2003 for a reported £140m. First reported by the BBC, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) found that funds linked to the scheme were managed from the UK, making them subject to UK taxation.
This tax avoidance may be worth an estimated £1bn when penalties and interest are factored in. Shvidler, who lived in the UK, was responsible for the day-to-day management of these investments, according to the leaked documents and a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing.
The tax-related controversy emerged after Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea in 2022 due to sanctions imposed on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.
The sale of the club to Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali has led to significant changes in players, coaches, and board members during a challenging period for the organisation. Labour MP Joe Powell has called for an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), urging the government to recover significant amounts for public services.
Tax experts suggest that Abramovich’s profits, estimated at £3.1bn, should have been subject to UK corporate tax. Funds from Abramovich’s untaxed profits were reportedly funneled through his network of BVI companies to finance Chelsea FC’s operations. Meanwhile, £2.5bn from the club’s sale remains frozen due to ongoing disputes over its allocation.

A US Air Force F-35 fighter jet crashed during a training exercise at Alaska’s Eielson Air Force Base on Tuesday, but the pilot ejected safely, as per base officials.
U.S. Air Force Colonel Paul Towsend, commander of the 354th Fighter Wing, stated in a news conference that the pilot encountered an “in-flight malfunction” but was able to eject safely.
The crash occurred while landing during a training exercise, as per the report. In a statement, Eielson Air Force Base said that the incident on Tuesday afternoon resulted in “significant damage” to the F-35 Lightning II aircraft.
However, according to the statement, the pilot was safe and taken to Bassett Army Hospital.
“I can assure you the United States Air Force will conduct a thorough investigation in hopes to minimise the chances of such occurrences from happening again,” Townsend said in the statement.
As the most expensive U.S. defence initiative, the F-35 serves as Lockheed Martin’s primary revenue driver, contributing around 30% of its bottom line.
Earlier, Lockheed said it would be less profitable than expected in 2025, in part because of a delayed rollout of upgrades to the F-35.
The Pentagon plans to spend $1.7 trillion on the F-35 programme, including buying 2,500 planes in the coming decades.
