A massive battle has taken social media by storm and this time it’s between Pakistani YouTuber Irfan Junejo and popular host, Waqar Zaka.                                                    The TV show host took to his Snapchat account, bashed Irfan Junejo and called him ‘Fake’.

Earlier this year, Irfan Junejo made a Vlog in collaboration with Emirates, where he also interacted with international football players and made all Pakistanis proud.

These vlogs instantly became one of the most talked about videos on social media and also created a positive image of Pakistan.

Days later, Waqar Zaka bashed the YouTuber, stating that Emirates never collaborated with Irfan Junejo for the Vlog and he did it just for the publicity.

Later, Zaka deleted his stories on Snaptchat and never talked about it.

As soon as Irfan Junejo got to know about it, he took to his Instagram and gave a befitting reply to him.

He said:

It’s not easy to get access to such a platform and it can only happen if you are collaborated by Emirates.

Juda Na Hona Drama on TVOne: A Fairytale in the Making

TV One’s latest serial ‘Juda Na Hona’ has created quite a buzz in the industry, starring the power-packed duo of Mansha Pasha and Shahroz Sabzwari in the lead.

From the first glimpse, it seemed that the drama was yet another love story. However, we were left in awe as its pilot episode revealed traditional villains and intense suspense in terms of script, acting, storyline, and direction.

The gorgeous Mansha Pasha as Samaha stole the spotlight in the first episode. Her character is that of an outspoken girl and acts rebellious against the conservative nature of her father played by Firdous Jamal.

Samaha dreams of marrying a rich handsome lad who will take her far away from her boring life one day.

On the other hand, her younger sister Sania is a shy girl with reserved nature and she’s really afraid of their father’s short temper.

Firdous Jamal as Abdul Manan did an impeccable job throughout the episode portraying his chauvinist character.

Even though his daughters go to university, he doesn’t really appreciate it.

Humera Bano is playing Firdous Jamal’s wife, whose character is relatable to the majority of women living in our society in male-dominated households. She works hard to diffuse the tension in the house and asks her daughters to be more cautious when their father is around.

Abdul Mannan is looking for a suitable match for Samaha. However, when Samaha finds it out, she loses her temper and clearly tells her mother that she won’t marry someone like her father.

Taking us to another side of the society where lives Sudais (Shahroz Sabzwari), a handsome spoilt lad and also, Samaha’s university mate.

Sudais rarely attends any class but considering his parent’s contributions to the university’s funds, he doesn’t care at all. Sudais has resilient nature and he is also not quite respectful towards his mother Sofia (Tara Mehmood).

Sofia’s relationship with her husband Noman (Aly Khan) was also shown to be a bit complicated as he blames her for neglecting their children and giving more time to her work and social life.

We were also introduced to Sudais’ little sister (Sonia Nazir) who also studies in the same university and is self-centered.

She taunts Samaha over her dressing which has soured the relationship between the two.

Samaha has a  crush on Sudais as she adores his lavish lifestyle. Sudais also seemed a bit interested in Samaha but he is smart at hiding his emotions.

Let’s see how these two are going to make their own fairy-tale which seems to be surrounded already with so many old-fashioned villains.

The overall episode was impactful and all the actors especially Mansha Pasha, Shahroz Sabzwari, and Firdous Jamal, kept us hooked to the screens for the entire time.

Seema Munaf has written the story with characters that can easily be found in our society, hence, making it more relatable. It looks like the drama will also focus more on the class difference in our society in the coming episodes.

LHC Orders Cinema Houses To Pay Entertainment Tax

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Lahore High Court has ordered to collect entertainment tax from cinema houses.

The court further directed the Excise and Taxation Department to execute the order within six weeks.

Lahore High Court heard a petition this week petition against non-collection of entertainment tax from the cinema houses.

While talking to the media, the Petitioner Muhammad Husnain said:

Under Entertainment Tax 1958 Act, the department is bound to receive entertainment tax from every cinema house daily.

However, he revealed that the department has not collected the tax from cinemas after even 365 days.

He further added:

The national exchequer was facing a deficit of millions of rupees annually because of non-collection of entertainment tax. Money obtained through the exhibition of Indian films is going to India without tax deduction. Non-collection of tax without any exemption is criminal negligence of the department, neglecting law in place deliberately is a crime.

He then requested the court to take action against the department for violating the law.

Popular iPhone Apps Exposed for Tracking their Users’ Every Move

A report by TechCrunch has exposed a number of iPhone applications of stealing users’ data.

These apps are particularly used for travel and were discovered to be violating Apple’s rules. These apps are using services like Glassbox, a “customer experience analytics firm” to record every single tap and swipe done by iPhone consumers.

The names of the iOS apps mentioned in the report included Hotels.com, Expedia, and Abercrombie & Fitch and Singapore Airlines. Some of these applications are tracking sensitive information about exactly what their users are doing to make product improvements.

These session replays let app developers record the screen and play them back to see how its users interacted with the app to figure out if something didn’t work or if there was an error. Every tap, button push and keyboard entry is recorded — effectively screenshotted — and sent back to the app developers.

The data breach was first bought to light by an App Analyst. He revealed that screenshots taken by Air Canada were stealing passwords and other confidential user information like passport numbers and credit card information. It is to be noted that Air Canada uses Glassbox for analytics.

Apparently, every time a user taps on the screen enters information via the keyboard and clicks a button, a screenshot is sent to the app’s developer.

Fawad Chaudhry Invites Facebook to Open Offices in Pakistan to Boost Advertisement Business

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, while talking to the media, shared that he has reached out to Facebook and has invited the company to come and open offices in Pakistan.

He furthermore said that Pakistan will give the company advertisements if they plan on opening their venture here.

Furthermore, he added that the social media titan can change the way marketing and advertising work within the country.

The minister also shared his concern over advertisement platforms shrinking from formal media to digital media.

He also shared that Pakistan’s advertising industry generates approximately PKR 7 billion per annum and one-third of governments advertisements are now on digital media.

The Minister further said the government is bringing a framework to regulate web TV, social media, and other media.

Pakistan to Witness Prolong Winter Season This Year: PMD

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that the country will experience a prolonged period of cold weather this year due to maximum rains and snowfall in the Northern areas.

According to The Nation.pk, The Met Office has predicted that the temperature would drop to 5°C or 6°C in various cities during the spring season due to more rain and snowfall.

PMD spokesperson stated in the report:

 This winter would witness coldest weather patterns as there were heavy rain spells and snow in the country.

Karachi Weather Update: Temperature to Start Rising in Mid-February

The Press Release updated by the Met department on Wednesday says that above normal rainfall is expected throughout the country. The mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJ&K and Gilgit Baltistan may receive above normal snowfall during the period.

More spells of rain in February and March are expected that would result in a continuous decrease in the temperature. The spokesperson of Met office said that different cities would also witness more fog, especially in Hazara division, Upper Punjab and Upper Sindh areas.

Heavy snowfall is also predicted in the Northern areas of the country including, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, and Azad Kashmir. Moreover, spells of rain are expected to continue till May, resulting in cooler and pleasant temperature.

KSBL Wins CFA Research Challenge 2019 Three Times in a Row

Azad Jammu and Kashmir witnessed persistent dry weather for over past two weeks that ended after a new spell of rain and snow in the region on Wednesday.

The weather turned colder in several regions of AJK including Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Neelam and Leepa valleys, Kotli, Bhumbher, Rawalakot and other adjoining areas after a heavy thunderstorm in the state.

Kahuta, Haveli, Neelam and Leepa valleys received snowfall on Wednesday night whereas, in Mirpur, a new spell of rains with a windstorm of mild intensity started on Wednesday.

PMD has also predicted a continuation of rain in plains and snowfall in the hilly areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir during next 24 hours.

O & A Level Equivalence Certificate Requirement Remains Unchanged: IBCC

A state of confusion has taken over Pakistanis after Higher Education Commission (HEC) declared that there is no longer a need for students to submit equivalency certificates.

This came after a girl named Romana Malik, a student had challenged the requirement in a petition to challenge the conditions required to obtain one.

HEC was not attesting her degree as Romana had not studied Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies during her O and A levels which resulted in a problem when the time came to retrieve her equivalency certificate.

However, Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) has shared that they will continue to make the certificate and that there has been confusion raised in regards to it.

According to the source, HEC has stopped the requirement ‘seeking detail of the previous qualification i.e. SSC & HSSC, including equivalence certificates for verification/ attestation of Bachelor and higher degrees.’

The source said:

The matter was portrayed in such manner as the equivalence of O and A level has been stopped which was a misinterpretation of the facts

To confirm this, we called IBCC and representative Wali Muhammad also said the same, he said that we are making the certificates and things and going how they are supposed to be. We have not received any orders from the court and the requirement is only from HEC’s side, not ours.

The Pakistani heartthrob Feroze Khan is back at what he does best, setting the screen on fire.

The teaser of Feroze Khan and Yumna Zaidi’s upcoming drama titled “Dil Kia Karey” has been unveiled and it already looks promising.

In the teaser, the duo can be seen deeply in love with each other and taking their story to different places.

It has been revealed that the drama is based on a love tale of the modern era with a hidden social message.

While talking about the drama, the writer of the drama Asma Nabeel said: 

It is very tightly knit in the plot so I can’t reveal that at the moment but some of the other issues that we have touched upon include the second marriage of young widows that is considered a social taboo.

Directed by Mehreen Jabbar, the upcoming serial has been produced under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment and we just cannot wait to watch it on our screens.

It all started when Ducky Bhai aka Saad Ur Rehman rolled out an internet-breaking video, claiming to expose the pair of Canadian youtube stars, Sham and Froggy.

Leaving no stone unturned, Ducky Bhai roasted both the vloggers for rolling out clickbait content, scripted pranks and faking incidents to get views.

Apparently, Sham Idrees and Froggy addressed YouTube Vloggers of Pakistan as ‘tiny Youtubers’ and all hell had broken loose on social media.

This YouTube controversy between Sham Idrees and Ducky Bhai had enveloped the entire vlogger fraternity of Pakistan. From Karachi Vines to Khujlee Family, Mooroo to even Zaid Ali; there was no YouTuber that was not a part of this tug-of-war
