iPhone XS & XS Max Users Continue to Experience Charging Problems

Update: Recently, we learnt that two of Apple’s latest and most expensive variants of the iPhone, XS and XS Max were experiencing battery issues. Many users came forth to complain about this problem, which still has not resolved.

iPhone XS Max users seem to be facing more problems as competitively then XS users. A popular YouTube channel PhoneBuff tested out the battery of iPhone XS Max by comparing it with the Galaxy Note 9 in a battery test.

In the beginning, the iPhone was doing a better job than the Galaxy Note 9, however, it wasn’t long before it lost its battleground to its rival. The XS Max had completely died-out whereas Note 9 was left with 37% juice.

Another problem iPhone users are facing is with its latest iOS 12 software which has apparently slowed down performance whereas Apple claims its the fastest OS till date.

iPhone XS and XS Max are 2 of the 3 latest models which Apple announced last month in September.

However, it looks like the tech giant’s latest creation is causing the brand a bit of trouble as customers have been pouring in complaints about the new handsets.

At first, it was the poor cellular network which got many customers frustrated as the signals caused trouble when Wi-Fi or 4G network was activated.

Another trouble Apple fans came across with the iPhone XS and XS Max was that the option of turning ‘Beauty gate’ does not exist as it is a built-in feature, making the pictures soft.

Now, the most recent complaints by customers are for the ‘Charge Gate’ as they are experiencing many problems. This was first picked up by ‘Unbox Therapy,’ one of the most popular YouTube channels.

Video blogger Lewis Hilsenteger tested nine iPhones with the official Apple charger. iPhone X charged without any problem, however, the new XS and XS Max failed to charge when plugged in.

Furthermore, Hilsenteger claimed that one of the devices did not charge at all. Several users also took it to Twitter to share their experience with the phones.

Haier Pakistan Visits Haier Headquarters for CAC Training

Haier Pakistan’s Central Air Conditioning (CAC) Division, conducted a Technical Training Conference in 2018. For this training, highly skilled technicians/installers visited the Haier Factory in the Headquarters of Haier Qingdao in China. During their visit to Qingdao, the delegation visited Haier’s MRV and Chiller factories. These include the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries-Haier Qingdao factory. This was a one-week detailed / comprehensive hands on experience training. More than 100 professional technicians from over 30 countries took part in this technical training, which mainly focused on the Designing, Installation and Commissioning till maintenance of MRV 5, chiller, control systems and so on.

The main agenda of this training Conference was for Haier Pakistan employees to learn specific knowledge or skills to improve performance in their current roles. The main purpose of this Training Program was for the employees to understand for themselves the various production facilities in China. The major focus of this conference pertained to troubleshooting and commissioning of the HVAC equipment. For a better learning experience, some units were installed during training so that the team could experience the whole process first-hand.

The employees showed a keen interest in the workings of the new Magnetic Oil-free Centrifugal Chiller.

The visitors were impressed by Haier’s state-of-the-art human free (robotic) factories and production facilities. Haier believes in teamwork and inspired living and hence through this training, Haier was able to inspire its employees and encourage them to get a better understanding of Central Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

An e-Service portal has been introduced by the Government of Pakistan for passport renewal.

Citizens can now access the portal and apply online for their passports without all that hassle. And for those Pakistani citizens living abroad? Not to worry – you are covered by this portal as well!

For those whose passports have seven months or less validity can still apply in the renewal category.

It is, however, advised to select the passport office nearest to you if the authorities call you in for an interview.

An unfortunate incident has been going on in Pakistan right under the noses of authorities and parental figures. According to a report Pakistan Today, it was found that prostitution and drugs were widely being offered to young school-going children.

Social media plays a very harsh and vital role in this. There are tons of pages which are supplying drugs to the youth and are offering sex services to lure students to make profits. Some of the students who become potential clients are then blackmailed for money.

Unfortunately, these pages are not being caught in the radar and are operating full-fledged. These pages are also promoting sponsored advertisements which promote medicines to improve sexual performances and stamina for both genders.

Furthermore, it was observed that such pages are followed by a massive amount of youth and youngsters who have provided business to such pages.

How many times have you seen young and old excited about a Pakistani film, with both claiming it to be made for them! Donkey King is one such film as it entertains the young with interesting characters and plot while makes fun of the political satire to appease the old.

And then there is our all-time favorite Mangu Mangu Jan Mangu and you get a film that is not to be missed but to be watched repeatedly.

Synopsis

In Azad Nagar, a land where animals are in power, the King Badshah Khan (Ghulam Mohiuddin) decides to take a break, leaving his son Shehzada (Adeel Hashmi) in charge. Seeing that other animals didn’t like the idea, he accepts a proposition put forward by Miss Fitna (Hina Dilpazir), giving the population a chance to elect their leader.

A useless, day-dreaming donkey Mangu (Jan Rambo) gets to contest the election against the Prince despite opposition from his Pehelwan Chacha (Ismail Tara), and wins the election by a huge margin, not because of his popularity but because everyone hates the Shehzada.

It is only after being crowned the King that Mangu realizes that there is more to the designation than meets the eye; not everything is as ideal as it seems from the outside.

The same animals who promoted him to win the elections want him to be their puppet so that they can continue their agenda without any suspicion. Will Mangu be able to save his fellow animals from disaster or will he fall to the treacherous game of which he is just a pawn, watch Donkey King to know who shows the door and who is shown the door.

Analysis

For an animated film, two things are most important – voiceovers and animation. In Donkey King, they have used the best actors in the country that have a distinct voice such as Jawed Sheikh, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Shabbir Jan, Jan Rambo, Hina Dilpazir to name a few.

Each actor fits the character and couldn’t have given VO for someone else such as Adeel Hashmi as Shehzada Khan, Hina Dilapzir as the Fox, Jawed Sheikh as Mangu’s father and so on. Jan Rambo was the highlight of the film as he breathed a new life into Mangu’s character and made it fun loving and also proved to the world that talent never fades away.

As for the animation, it is by far the best animation seen in a film produced entirely in the country; director Aziz Jindani must be commended for combining it all perfectly – the Voiceovers, the animation, and a script to die for. With Kamran Khimani, he has come up with a screenplay that has everything for everyone and while many elderlies will rate the script as more suited to the old than the young, it is fit for all.

The youngsters might not get the pun in the songs, the dialogues or even the plot but they will realize that once they become old and laugh about it.

Verdict 

Out of all the animated films to come out of Pakistan, Donkey King is the best considering it caters to all, doesn’t follow the superhero formula, takes help of the time machine and has a narrative that never slows down.

Unlike Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor, it revolves around animals completely, only making it the desi version of George Orwell’s classic novella Animal Farm. Its animation is at par with Disney’s classics and although some of the characters might seem familiar, Zeeshan Karimi and his team of animators have delivered an ace, so many years after Commander Safeguard.

They have modulated the voiceovers so that you hear animals and not the superstars lending their voices; every character has some traits which resonates with their name and best of all, Mangu Mangu Jan Mangu pays tribute to the one and only Jan Rambo who makes a comeback to films and proves his worth. For some, the plot might seem too mature but wasn’t that the case with The Great Mouse Detective, Lion King and other Disney animations that revolved around animals. It was and we must appreciate good work so that in the future we can come up with better projects.

Ahmed Shehzad Trolled by Shahid Afridi’s Daughter!

Trolling is the latest social media sensation which has every individual engaged in trying to make the biggest joke of the century. However, it looks like Shahid Afridi’s daughter only took a split second to troll opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad on national TV.

Afridi’s daughters had gone to the premiere of the latest animated Pakistani movie The Donkey King. GEO News Anchor Fatima Saleem asked the girls a couple of questions before the show had started.

When asked about if this type of movie were to be made with cricket stars, who would be the king. To this, one of his daughters, Ansha Afridi replied that “Dad”, Afridi would be the King. When the girls were asked who would be Fitna, to this she replied “Ahmed Shehzad”.

The anchor and Afridi’s daughters soon burst into fits of laughter at the response.

Azhar Ali Admits Pressure Pakistan Faces Against Australia

Azhar Ali opened up about Pakistan being under pressure of expectations throughout the second Test against Australia which will start in Abu Dhabi, UAE from Tuesday.

Pakistan dominated much of the first Test in Dubai but failed to get the last two wickets as Australia finished at 362-8.

Set a daunting 462 runs Australia’s fightback was led by opener Usman Khawaja’s 141, ably assisted by Travis Head (72) and skipper Tim Paine (61 not out).

I can’t say if the pressure will be more on Pakistan or Australia but we are the home side and obviously people expect us to win and so there is pressure. -said Azhar on Sunday.

However, having said that these are favourable conditions for us and we have to make the most of it.

Pressure is always different in every match and obviously this is a decider. Being the home team we have to win it and we will enter the field thinking that. We will look to play positive cricket and hopefully the result will go our way.

Pakistan will be forced to make a change after regular opener Imam-ul-Haq fractured his finger in the first Test and was ruled out, opening an option to bring Azhar as opener.

The 33-year-old held the opening spot since the Oval Test in England in August 2016 and struck a triple century against the West Indies in Dubai and a double hundred against Australia in Melbourne — both in 2016.

He went to his customary number three position for the two Tests against Sri Lanka last year and in last week’s first Test against Australia.

Pakistan can also bring in limited over specialist Fakhar Zaman to play his first Test, despite a poor form in the Asia Cup scoring only 56 runs in five matches with two ducks.

Azhar said he will do it against for his team.

“When playing for Pakistan one has to be ready for everything, I have always believed in that and whatever the team management decides or the captain decides, I will be ready to do that.”

Azhar admitted Pakistan players were disappointed at not winning the first Test.

We are not disheartened but, yes, disappointed, obviously after dominating the Test match throughout and then not winning it

Unfortunately we couldn’t win but I think we also have to give credit to the Australians as well as they showed resilience and kept fighting till the end.

Azhar said he remains focused despite not in the best of form, managing only 95 runs in the last four Tests.

“A batman always wants to score runs and it doesn’t feel nice when he doesn’t score runs,” said Azhar. “But the important thing is to stay focused and believe that once you get a good knock things will start rolling again.”

Facebook Cyberattack: 29 Million Users Were Affected

As many as 29 million users have been affected by Facebook’s personal data breach by hackers, reports Facebook.

Earlier, the social media giant reported that 50 million accounts were targetted in the cyberattack

“We now know that fewer people were impacted than we originally thought,” Facebook vice president of product management Guy Rosen said in a conference call updating the investigation.

The unknown hackers accessed the names, phone numbers and email addresses of the affected users.

For another 14 million people, the attack was potentially more damaging.

Facebook said cyberattackers accessed that data plus additional information including gender, religion, hometown, birth date and places they had recently “checked in” to as visiting.

No data was accessed in the accounts of the remaining one million people whose “access tokens” were stolen, according to Rosen.

The attack did not affect Facebook-owned Messenger, Messenger Kids, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace, Pages, payments, third-party apps or advertising or developer accounts, the company said.

– ‘Vulnerability’ in the code –

Facebook said engineers discovered a breach on September 25 and had it patched two days later.

That breach allegedly related to a “view as” feature — described as a privacy tool to let users see how their profiles look to other people. That function has been disabled for the time being as a precaution.

Facebook reset the 50 million accounts believed to have been affected, meaning users would need to sign back in using passwords.

The breach was the latest privacy embarrassment for Facebook, which earlier this year acknowledged that tens of millions of users had their personal data hijacked by Cambridge Analytica, a political firm working for Donald Trump in 2016.

– ‘Seed’ accounts –

Hackers evidently started the cyber-onslaught on September 14 with 400,000 “seed accounts” they had a hand in or were otherwise close to, according to Rosen.

“The attackers started with a set of accounts they controlled directly, then moved to their friends, and their friend’s friends, and so on — each time taking advantage of the vulnerability,” he added.

The exploit allowed hackers to steal copies of access tokens from accounts of “friends” by using the “view as” feature.

Once they had keys to accounts, hackers had the ability to get into them and control them as though they were the real owner.

He declined to discuss progress regarding figuring out who was behind the attack, saying

The California-based social network says it is cooperating with the FBI, US Federal Trade Commission, Irish Data Protection Commission and other authorities regarding the breach.

Rosen said the FBI investigation also limited what he could disclose about what the hackers’ end-goal may have been, but maintained that Facebook had “no reason to believe this attack was related to the mid-term elections” in the US.

The youth of a country are the pioneers of the future and if they are trained well, they have the power to achieve their potential and make valuable changes in the world.

Pakistan, has a very large youth population, currently with the largest population of young people in its history.

A report, issued by UNDP earlier this year, revealed that out of the total population, 64 percent is below the age of 30, and 29 percent is between the ages of 15-29 years.

If these numbers are used to estimate the total workforce, the future looks brighter than ever. But then, it also necessitates the urge to create more job opportunities because a major proportion of our youth is currently unemployed.

Unfortunately, our education system focuses more on theory than on practical, a major reason why half of the unemployed population have no idea what they can do with their talent and skills.

These young people should be counselled about possible career choices whilst talent and creativity need to be identified. What’s more, they should be given opportunities and platforms, so they don’t end up disappointed and frustrated losing hope with unattainable dreams.

Importance Of Youth-Based Initiatives for Pakistan

There is a dire need for nationwide positive youth-based initiatives where our talented youngsters can unleash their brilliance and help in building a better future for Pakistan. The right opportunities can help in employment and alleviate the economic condition of Pakistan.

Since the majority of our youth is engaged on digital media, initiatives through these platforms attract a massive audience and should be used productively.

Very few youth-based programs had been organised in the past on TV providing  participants a chance to perform and present their skills in front of large crowd.

PTI First 50 Days: Progress So Far

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has completed its first 50 days in Pakistan as the new government.

This is the first time in the history of the country where a former-cricketer has been elected as Prime Minister.

Previously, the PTI government had shared their 100-day manifesto and launched a tracker where the citizens of Pakistan could keep track of what promises have been met and what remains to be done.

In a nutshell, the last 50 days for the new government and PM Imran Khan have been no less than a rollercoaster ride. PTI had its ups and downs, and there came several unwanted bumps and U-Turns in the way.

The following is a list of achievements PTI has accomplished under its governance in ‘Naya Pakistan’

Although this is a notable achievement despite the bumps PM Khan and PTI faced, other political parties have still criticised their work.

The PTI government is completing its 50 days on Friday and people have seen a drama of U-turns, while the cabinet has come up only as a ‘comedy of errors’ as one minister makes a statement on one issue, while the other gives clarification on his cabinet colleague’s statement

We feel the country is being run by a trainee pilot who is making the poor people of this country go through political summersaults

On the other hand, Khan’s supporters, his party, and a majority of the youth still believe and have trust in Imran Khan. They consider him a ray of hope and are willing to go through some trouble as long as the outcome in the long-run is fruitful for the country and its nationals.

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has been announced as T10 Cricket League‘s official broadcast partner.

It is a three-year period starting from the 2018 edition onwards.

The T10 League sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be shown live on SONY ESPN and SONY ESPN HD channels in India, Ten Sports in Pakistan, Ten Cricket in the Middle East & North Africa and shall also be streamed live on their digital platform SonyLIV.

Seems like we won’t be having an internet service active over the weekend. According to reports, there will be a global internet shutdown as the main domain servers and related network infrastructure will be undergoing routine maintenance.

According to a Reuters report published in Russia Today, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will be carrying out maintenance work. They will be modifying the cryptographic key that protects the Domain Name System (DNS).

The aim of this move is to combat rising cyber attacks incidents.

In a statement, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) said:

“To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their network operators or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have not prepared for this change. However, this impact can be avoided by enabling the appropriate system security extensions”

Hence, users will face issues to access various resources and loading of pages. They will face internet crash with error messages about a “server failure”.

What’s more, users with an outdated provider might have issues with access to the network.

However, according to ICANN, only 1% of the world’s internet will experience the internet crash, but still, that’s approximately 36 million people.

#MySuzukiMyStory: Suzuki Hosted a Grand Ceremony for the Winners!

Suzuki Pakistan threw a grand ceremony to congratulate the winners of the #MySuzukiMyStory campaign on 26 September 2018.

Senior members of Pak Suzuki’s management were present at the ceremony including Mr. G. H. Agha (GM – Marketing) and Mr. Takumi Takahashi (GM – Motorcycles).

The brand initially started season 1 of the campaign back in April when they had all automotive enthusiasts hooked.

The #MySuzukiMyStory encouraged car fanatics to share special moments between themselves and their vehicle or the Suzuki brand. More than 200 entries were received with car fans sharing their beloved Suzuki memories.

The first prize was won by Ali Ahmed.

Three winners were awarded the Suzuki GR150, GR150SE and Suzuki GD 110S respectively, along with a shield and gift hamper for each.

Mr. G. H. Agha said in a speech:
