Court Delays Chaiwala's Citizenship Case to April 22
On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi Bench delayed the hearing of Chaiwala’s citizenship case. He had filed the petition to challenge the blocking of his national identity card (CNIC) and passport. Justice Jawad Hassan postponed the case until April 22 after Khan’s lawyer asked for more time to prepare a reply.
During the hearing, lawyers representing the assistant attorney general and NADRA submitted written reports to the court. These reports showed that NADRA had asked for investigations from two intelligence agencies — Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
According to both ISI and IB, Arshad Khan is an Afghan national. The reports said he was born and raised in Afghanistan and had no legal connection to Pakistani citizenship. They clearly stated, “No foreign national is entitled to hold or benefit from Pakistani identity documents such as a CNIC or passport.”
NADRA told the court that Khan was asked to prove his presence, birth, residence or property ownership in Pakistan before 1978. He failed to provide such evidence. Based on this, NADRA stood by its decision to cancel his CNIC and passport. It also mentioned that a legal notice had been sent to Khan, ordering him to leave Pakistan.
Khan’s lawyer asked for copies of the intelligence agency reports and NADRA’s written reply. The court accepted the request for more time and instructed that final arguments should be presented during the next hearing on April 22.
In his petition, Arshad Khan said he had worked as a tea seller in Islamabad. He claimed that cancelling his identity documents had damaged his reputation. He suggested the court to declare him a Pakistani citizen and restore his CNIC and passport on chaiwala’s citizenship case.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast strong, heavy rain in Pakistan on Friday (today) and Saturday evenings in different areas of the country. This includes Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A weather advisory from the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) warned that these weather conditions may affect transport, buildings and farming activities.
The advisory applies to areas in the Potohar Region like Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Upper Punjab including Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, and Jhelum, and Central Punjab covering Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Lahore, Narowal, Sahiwal, Sargodha and Sheikhupura.
According to NEOC, “Strong winds and heavy rainfall may uproot trees, potentially causing temporary power outages.” It also warned that “windstorms, dust storms, and hailstorms could damage vulnerable structures, rooftops, vehicles and power lines.”Hailstorms may also damage crops and outdoor installations, especially ones with glass.
Rain and dust can reduce visibility on roads, increasing the risk of accidents. The public has been advised to stay safe, secure loose items and avoid unnecessary travel during these weather conditions.
NDMA has asked people to download the official Pak NDMA Disaster Alert mobile app to receive real-time weather alerts. A guideline in the advisory says, “All citizens, particularly tourists and residents in affected areas, should closely monitor weather through official channels only.”It also adds that travellers should “verify road conditions before departure and postpone non-essential journeys during periods of intense weather activity.”
The advisory stresses that those living in or near landslide-prone areas must stay alert and follow safety instructions. “The public is reminded that timely access to verified information and adherence to official warnings are critical for personal safety and community protection during severe weather events,” it said.

Karachi's Missing Minor Girl Found Raped, Dead in Drain
In the latest disturbing incident, a five-year-old minor girl was found raped before murder in Liaquatabad. The body of the girl, who went missing from Sikandar Goth, was found dumped in Gujjar Nala on Wednesday. According to police, a missing report had been filed at the Sachal police station a day earlier.
Police Surgeon Dr Samia Tariq confirmed that the postmortem examination revealed signs of sexual abuse. Forensic samples have been collected and sent for chemical analysis, with details expected upon receipt of the reports.
The girl’s father stated that his daughter’s body was discovered with her hands and feet tied. He expressed anguish over the delayed search efforts, claiming that timely action could have saved her life. The family, who deny any personal enmity, demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from Sikandar Goth to identify suspects. The girl’s family and relatives blocked Abul Hassan Isphahani Road near Paradise Apartment in protest, causing traffic disruptions. They alleged that some of her body parts were missing.
Meanwhile, unverified reports suggest that CCTV footage shows a woman leading the child away. Police are verifying these claims and have assured the family of a thorough investigation.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old girl was abducted and allegedly gang-raped in the Malir City area. Police have registered a case against Faizan, a school student and three unidentified accomplices.
According to the victim’s father, the incident occurred on April 14 when his daughter was taken at gunpoint near the main gate of Laila Town. The accused allegedly drugged and assaulted the girl before abandoning her. She returned home via an online taxi at 10 pm and narrated the ordeal.
Police registered the case under Sections 376 (rape) and 342/34 (wrongful confinement) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Lahore Qalandars CEO comments on Imran Khan’s role in Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy
Ever since Shaheen Shah Afridi took over as captain of Lahore Qalandars back in 2021, fans have speculated: Was this move influenced by Imran Khan?
Well, Atif Rana, the Qalandars CEO, has finally broken the silence. And guess what? The answer is a clear no.
“Shaheen Afridi Was Our Call” – Atif Rana Clears the Air
In a candid interview with a local sports outlet, Atif addressed the long-running rumour head-on.
“Shaheen was made captain by Sameen [Rana],” he said. “Our team’s think tank made that decision together, and Sameen played a key role.”
So, there it is. No outside influence, no political pressure, and definitely no Imran Khan intervention.
Atif added that although they did meet Imran Khan – who was the Prime Minister at the time – it happened after they had already announced Shaheen as captain.
Imran’s Words Meant a Lot
Even though Imran didn’t pick Shaheen Afridi, he definitely backed the decision.
“At that time, Imran Khan praised our move,” Atif recalled. “He told Shaheen, ‘If you keep playing like this, you will rule world cricket for the next 8 to 10 years.’”
Now that’s quite a compliment coming from a 1992 World Cup-winning skipper.
Atif shared another interesting nugget: Imran said he doesn’t believe batsmen make good captains. “He believes a true captain is a bowler,” said Atif.
That comment — coming from someone who led Pakistan to its greatest cricketing triumph — hit home for Shaheen and the Qalandars camp. It was validation they didn’t ask for, but one they were happy to receive.
Before Shaheen Afridi stepped into the leadership role, Lahore Qalandars were… well, not doing great.
From 2016 to 2021, they finished last in five of the six seasons. It was frustrating for fans and painful for the franchise.
But everything changed when the then-21-year-old fast bowler took charge.
In 2022, he led Lahore to their first-ever PSL title. Then, just to prove it wasn’t a fluke, they did it again in 2023 — becoming the first team in PSL history to defend the title.
It wasn’t just a leadership gamble. It was a franchise-defining masterstroke.

Imad Wasim Shares the Interesting Story Behind his Viral Celebrations
If you’ve been watching PSL 10 and wondering what’s up with the celebrations of Islamabad United all-rounder Imad Wasim, you’re not alone.
The iconic pose. The confident walk. The nod to football stars. It’s not random at all — it’s pure vibes backed by team bonding and a little PlayStation magic.
In a recent chat on the PSL’s official YouTube channel, Imad finally spilt the beans. And honestly, it just makes you love the guy even more.
Imad Wasim, now 36 but still very much a game-changer, revealed that his wicket celebrations are pre-planned — and no, not just by him.
“Our celebrations are actually planned in advance with the whole team, including the management,” he said with a grin. “We plan it all in our FIFA sessions.”
That’s right. The Islamabad United camp turns into a mini football arena when they’re off the field. PS controllers in hand, they battle it out on FIFA. And those sessions? That’s where the celebration ideas come from.
If his post-wicket gestures remind you of Mohamed Salah or Kylian Mbappé, it’s no coincidence. Imad confirmed it himself.
“We spend a lot of our downtime playing FIFA together, so I should clarify – these aren’t random acts, each player has their own celebration this season, and I’ve chosen to pay tribute to footballers Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappé,” Imad Wasim clarified.
And he’s owning it — whether it’s the hands-in-prayer stance like Salah or the folded arms like Mbappé, Imad’s making it part of the PSL’s entertainment package.
Here’s the best part: the celebrations aren’t just for show. Imad is backing them up with solid performances.
In just three matches so far, he’s picked up six wickets, with best figures of 3 for 26. His bowling has been tight, smart, and crucial for Islamabad United in the middle overs.
Imad emphasized that these celebrations are part of a bigger picture — team bonding.
“Before every match, we decide as a group which celebration I’ll do if I get wickets,” he shared. “It’s just our way of having fun and staying connected as a unit.”

The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro takes the lead with a complete package: blazing-fast 90W wired charging, 30W wireless charging
The smartphone landscape of 2025 is more competitive than ever, but one device is setting new benchmarks—the Infinix NOTE 50 Series. With its Armor-Alloy Metal Design, exceptional AI features, and game-changing charging speeds, this phone is built to elevate everyday experiences with unmatched efficiency and style.
Redmi NOTE 14 may offer solid performance for its price, but it falls short when it comes to charging and design. With only 33W fast charging and a plastic body, it lags far behind the NOTE 50’s 90W FastCharge and Armor-Alloy Metal Design. The lack of premium build quality and slower power-ups make it less appealing for users who demand speed and style in one device.
Oppo Reno 13F brings some flair to the table with decent AI features, but it still can’t match the NOTE 50 Series as it not only pushes ahead with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging while Reno 13F have only 45W, but also introduces smarter, more seamless performance through One Tap AI. Additionally, Reno 13F sticks to plastic construction.
Vivo V50 Lite attempts to blend style with performance, featuring a sleek design and respectable battery life. However, it lacks the robust AI integration that powers the NOTE 50 Series. Its plastic build and limited smart features place it a step behind in terms of innovation and premium feel. For users who value cutting-edge design, ultra-fast power-ups, and intelligent interaction, the NOTE 50 remains the standout choice.
The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro takes the lead with a complete package: blazing-fast 90W wired charging, 30W wireless charging, intelligent AI integration with Deepseek in Infinix One Tap AI, and an Armor-Alloy metal design. It’s not just about specifications; it’s about the overall experience. While its competitors focus on the basics, Infinix redefines the smartphone industry with flagship-level innovation, proving that performance, elegance, and value can all come in one device.
Top Montessori Schools in Karachi: Cementing The Basics
Choosing the right Montessori school is a pivotal decision for parents in Karachi, a city renowned for its diverse and high-quality early childhood education options. If a school wishes to be among the top Montessori schools in Karachi, it must follow a Montessori education plan as its base.
The Montessori education plan is carefully designed for children aged 2.5 to 5 years. This plan focuses on language development, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, communication skills, independence, social skills, critical thinking and physical development from an early age.
List of the Top Montessori Schools in Karachi
If you’re a parent looking for a school that nurtures creativity and real cognitive development (and not just one with flashy social media ads), then this list is for you. We’ve done the homework and compiled the most insightful list of Karachi’s top Montessori institutions of 2025.

This is not your average Montessori. DHACSS combines a traditional learning environment with modern educational practices — including martial arts, yoga, art labs, and even language immersion.

3. Tiny Treasures Montessori
Location: Gulistan-e-Johar Standout Feature: Personal attention and strong parent-teacher communication
Tiny Treasures doesn’t scream for attention online — but its word-of-mouth reputation is powerful. Parents consistently praise its low student-teacher ratio, nurturing environment, and commitment to Montessori authenticity.
This school doesn’t believe in overwhelming children with unnecessary pressure. It truly respects the child’s pace of learning. It’s one of those places where staff know every child by name — and more importantly, every child’s learning style. This allows the school’s environment to be nurturing and not rigid, making it perfect for first-time parents with separation anxiety (yes, it’s real).

4. Greenhouse Montessori
Location: Gulistan-e-Johar Standout Feature: Eco-conscious curriculum and project-based learning
This is one of Karachi’s few Montessori schools where children learn about the planet alongside the alphabet. This school really leans into its name through plant-based projects and environmental responsibility woven into the curriculum. With garden-based learning, recycling projects, and creative hands-on modules; Greenhouse Montessori is a breath of fresh air — both literally and figuratively.
Fee Details: Fee information isn’t explicitly available online. For any information regarding admission and fee, the official Facebook page (Greenhouse Montessori) is to be contacted
Perfect For: Parents who want their kids to grow up with global awareness and environmental values from the start.

5. Maryam Montessori and the Cambridge Schooling System
Location: Gulshan-e-Iqbal Standout Feature: Seamless transition from the Montessori to the Cambridge system
Maryam Montessori is where many Karachi families turn when they want the best of both worlds: a nurturing early start followed by a strong academic foundation. The school bridges Montessori with Cambridge in a way that feels natural rather than abrupt.
It’s ideal for long-term planning, parents who want their children to continue through O-Levels under the same system. No fuss, no re-admissions.
Fee Details: Fee information isn’t explicitly available online. For any information regarding admission and fee, the official Facebook page (Maryam Montessori & Cambridge Schooling System) is to be contacted
Best Fit: Ambitious families looking for continuity and consistency in schooling.
6. Mrs. Ahmed Montessori & Primary School
Location: Shaheed-e-Millat Road Standout Feature: Character-first approach with a focus on core values
This is the type of Montessori that emphasises respect, discipline and emotional intelligence alongside learning. The school doesn’t rely on flash or social media glitz. Their reputation is built on old-school trust and meaningful outcomes, where children are nurtured as individuals.
Fee Details: Fee information isn’t explicitly available online. For any information regarding admission and fee, the official Facebook page (Mrs. Ahmed’s Montessori & Primary School) is to be contacted.
Recommended For: Families who want a value-driven, well-balanced school in the heart of the city.
Eden Montessori is one of the few schools in Karachi that checks all the boxes for Montessori purists, from multi-age classrooms to proper didactic materials. The staff is trained, experienced, and passionate about early education. This school doesn’t have a massive campus, but what it does have is dedication. Parents report significant improvements in their children’s concentration, independence and even home routines.
Good things come in small packages, and this one is packed with purpose.
Fee Details: The fee structure isn’t explicitly available online. For further details regarding admission and fees, the official website is to be contacted (Phone : 0335 2017322). Otherwise an online form can be submitted too.
Best Suited For: Parents committed to a full-fledged, philosophy-driven Montessori journey.
The Montessori system (when implemented properly) can shape children into confident, thoughtful and capable learners from an early age. But not all schools that use the name “Montessori” deliver the real thing.
In Karachi, where education is as competitive as it is diverse, choosing the right school takes more than just comparing fees or scrolling through Instagram pages. It’s about matching your family’s values with the school’s philosophy, meeting the staff, observing the classrooms, and most importantly, trusting your instincts.
Pro Tip: Visit at least 3 schools. Ask about training, materials, class sizes, and daily routines. Observe how children behave. That’s where you’ll get the real picture and will help you decide which top Montessori school in Karachi is the best fit for your child.

Usama's not only an actor, he's a marketing magnet. He's become the face for brands such as Bold, Jazz, Nestlé, and Silk Bank
Some performers win over crowds gradually, but Usama Khan? He’s been winning hearts since his very first scene. Within a matter of years, he’s moved from being “that guy from Sanwari” to being one of the most dependable names in Pakistani entertainment. And now in 2025, with his latest blockbuster, Qarz e Jaan, it’s obvious, Usama’s fame continues to climb, and he’s only just beginning. The New Heartthrob of Pakistani Dramas.
Early Life and Education
Usama was born on November 22, 1991, in Gujranwala, and started modestly. He attended St. Peter’s High School in Toba Tek Singh, then went on to acquire a professional accounting qualification. With an ACCA from SKANS, he first worked with Silk Bank, then moved on to the UAE corporate sector. But even as he juggled ledgers and audit reports, his mind was elsewhere.
Usama’s actual turning point was Sanwari (2018). His performance as Tabrez Ali, a multifaceted yet endearing character, struck a chord with viewers. The show went on for more than 180 episodes, and by the time it ended, Usama was a household name. He won the Hum Award for Best Soap Actor, and it was his first big industry award.
Evolving into a Leading Actor
Usama didn’t let up after his breakthrough. In 2019, he played lead roles in Bezuban and Main Khwab Bunti Hon. He experimented with various hues of romance, ambition, and vulnerability. He also appeared in supporting roles that impressed, such as in Ghalati and Tamanna, where he shared screen space with the big guns and demonstrated that he could hold his own.
Exploring Versatility
Not all actors can take the leap from sincere romantic heroes to supernatural thrillers, but Usama made it look easy. In Chalawa, he ventured into horror. In Uraan, he acted out Noriyan, a reflective, introspective character. And with Ishq Jalebi, he provided viewers with a light-hearted, entertaining performance ideal for Ramadan evenings. This versatility is what distinguishes him from most of his peers.
From 2020 to 2022
From 2020 to 2022, Usama performed more intense and mature roles in dramas such as Sitam, Mohlat, Mere Apne, and Dobara. His character as Affan in Dobara demonstrated maturity and emotional depth that critics and viewers appreciated.
Continued Growth (2023–2024)
These two years marked some of his most experimental work. He starred in:
Kacha Dhaga as Hamdan – a romantic yet conflicted character
Fatima Feng as Ammar – a story with cross-cultural dynamics
Each project helped stretch his range further and showcased his willingness to take risks.
Film Debut
Usama entered filmmaking in 2024 with Nayab, appearing as Zain, a complex, emotionally nuanced character. His first time film acting was commended for its realism and understatement. It was a risky decision, and it paid off.
Latest Breakthrough in 2025: Qarz e Jaan
Step into 2025, and Usama yet again demonstrates his acting skills in Hum TV’s hit drama Qarz e Jaan. He is Barrister Burhan, an intelligent but emotionally tormented attorney torn between obligation, justice, and personal anguish.
This character is already making waves for a number of reasons:
It’s a departure from his usual romantic heroes
His acting displays maturity, restraint, and strength
His on-screen rapport with the lead actress is touching hearts
The drama tackles moral problems, class issues, and kinship relations
Qarz e Jaan is being crowned as one of the best 2025 dramas, and Usama’s performance takes centre stage in that accomplishment.
Personal Branding and Endorsements
Usama’s not only an actor, he’s a marketing magnet. He’s become the face for brands such as Bold, Jazz, Nestlé, and Silk Bank over the years. He picks brand collaborations wisely, focusing on clean, classy, and youth-oriented messages. That’s a wise thing to do in today’s image-conscious business.
Awards and Industry Recognition
With the Hum Award already in hand, Usama is a likely candidate for future Lux Style Awards and other awards in 2025. Critics are already expecting Qarz e Jaan to sweep several categories this year. His increasing fan following and continuous performances make him one of Pakistan’s most bankable actors.
From a finance professional in Gujranwala to one of Pakistan’s most celebrated actors, Usama Khan’s story is a lesson in pursuing your passion. With his recent success in Qarz e Jaan and a history of strong performances, he’s already on his way to becoming a legend in the Pakistani entertainment industry.

As the global conversation around smoking shifts towards harm reduction, countries are taking decisive steps to offer better alternatives to smokers. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently authorized Zyn nicotine pouches, recognizing them as a reduced-risk alternative to traditional cigarettes. This decision underscores a growing trend: regulating better nicotine alternatives can help reduce smoking-related harm. Yet, Pakistan continues to struggle with outdated policies that ignore harm reduction as a viable approach.
Pakistan has one of the highest smoking rates in the world, with over 25 million tobacco users. Each year, more than 160,000 lives are lost due to smoking-related diseases, and the economic impact is severe—an estimated USD 3.85 billion is spent annually on smoking-attributable illnesses. Despite these alarming statistics, policymakers have yet to introduce a clear regulatory framework for nicotine pouches, leaving consumers exposed to unregulated products.
While nicotine pouches like Zyn and Velo are available in Pakistan, their market operates in a legal gray area. Unlike the U.S., where the FDA’s authorization ensures product quality and safety, Pakistan lacks structured regulations to evaluate and oversee these alternatives. This absence of regulation not only creates uncertainty but also prevents smokers from accessing reliable harm reduction tools.
Many European countries have embraced harm reduction, provide a compelling case for its effectiveness by dropping its smoking rates to just 4.5%. The U.S. is following a similar path by authorizing nicotine pouches under strict regulatory guidelines. Pakistan, however, remains hesitant, missing the opportunity to reduce smoking prevalence and its associated health burden.
The need for regulatory action in Pakistan is urgent. Establishing a framework for nicotine pouches would ensure product quality, inform consumers, and provide smokers with better alternatives to traditional cigarettes. More importantly, it would align Pakistan with global efforts to reduce smoking-related diseases and economic strain.
With harm reduction becoming an integral part of tobacco control worldwide, Pakistan stands at a critical juncture. Will it continue to rely on outdated policies, or will it take proactive steps to regulate safer alternatives and protect public health?
When is 'Just Like That' Season 3 Coming Out? Here's What We Know
Carrie Bradshaw is grabbing her Manolos again—and honestly, it’s about time. The third season of And ‘Just Like That’ is officially hitting Max on May 29, 2025. Yes, we’ll be getting weekly doses of New York chaos every Thursday until August 14.
So mark your calendars and prep your cosmos. It looks like this season is going to bring some fresh energy.
What’s Coming in Season 3?
The season promises 12 episodes, according to showrunner Michael Patrick King is all about “newness.” That means new apartments, new relationships, new heartbreaks and hopefully new fashion moments.
Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is moving into a swanky Gramercy Park townhouse and plot twist: she’s finally writing fiction. No more “Sex and the City” memoir vibes—she’s supposedly digging into novel territory. Also, Aidan’s still around (kind of?) though we’re still not sure if he’s the endgame or just another emotional detour.
Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) is in a whole new lane, both romantically and professionally. She’s working at Human Rights Watch and maybe, just maybe, she’s not about to spiral into another identity crisis. Fingers crossed.
Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) continues to be the ultimate mom-manager, juggling teenagers and drama while trying to keep her sense of self intact. Honestly, Charlotte deserves more screen time—and a storyline that doesn’t revolve entirely around being a parent.
Now, for the bittersweet news: Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) is out, and many fans are breathing a tiny sigh of relief. Karen Pittman’s Nya Wallace also won’t return due to scheduling conflicts, which is a shame—her character had promise.
New Faces We’re Curious (and Cautiously Excited) About
The show is bringing in some heavy hitters: Rosie O’Donnell, Kristen Schaal, and Mehcad Brooks, among others. Honestly, the casting team might be trying to shake things up a bit, which is probably smart after the mixed bag that was Season 2.
Patti LuPone also joins the mix, which is an exciting wildcard. I mean, if anyone can add some Broadway-level flair and drama to this reboot, it’s her.
Returning characters like Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) are also getting more storylines. Both of them were standout additions to the newer seasons, so it’s great to see the writers investing more in their arcs.
New Faces We’re Curious (and Cautiously Excited) About
The Vibe: What’s the Tone This Season?
According to Michael Patrick King, the show’s leaning into change and growth, especially for characters navigating life post-50. Carrie’s internal monologue will also return (finally), thanks to her writing journey. Honestly, that’s a big deal—the lack of her classic voiceover has made the show feel weirdly disconnected at times.
And let’s be real, this show has always worked best when it taps into emotional vulnerability alongside the designer labels. So here’s hoping Season 3 finds that balance again.
Where and When to Watch
All new episodes of And Just Like That… Season 3 will drop weekly starting May 29, 2025, on Max. If you need a refresher or just want to relive the drama, both Seasons 1 and 2 are already available to stream.
Is The Magic Back?
So, will Season 3 bring the magic back? Will Carrie finally get her groove (and wardrobe) fully back? Will we survive without Che’s chaotic comedy routines? One thing is confirmed: everyone will be watching ‘Just Like That’.

The creators of the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ bar, Can’t Get Knafeh of It, are raising concerns about supermarket knockoffs that are hurting their brand. Yezen Alani and Sarah Hamouda, a British couple who founded FIX Chocolatier, launched the chocolate in the UAE in 2022. It features pistachio and knafeh, and it became famous after going viral on TikTok. Users praised its unique texture, bold flavour and green colour.
What started as a passion project quickly grew into a global trend. The bar became more than just a treat—it was shown in unboxing videos, beauty influencer reels and travel vlogs. Many paired it with luxury items like handbags, manicures and “soft life” content. Some even called it “the Birkin of chocolates.”People traveled to Dubai just to try it.
The growing demand helped FIX grow from a solo effort to a team of 50, now making 500 bars daily. But with success came problems. Big companies like Nestlé, Lindt, Lidl and Selfridges released their own pistachio-knafeh bars, selling quickly and at lower prices.
In a BBC interview, Yezen said, “The dupes are very frustrating because people are trying knockoffs, which damages our brand.” He and Sarah are concerned that people might think the cheaper versions represent FIX’s quality. In reality, their bars are handmade using high-quality ingredients and the recipe is a secret.
To keep the brand’s premium feel, they now sell the chocolate through a special app, only twice a day for a short time. This lets them control demand and protect the luxury image. They also plan to grow slowly through careful partnerships and retail plans, without losing their original values.

tKarachi’s electricity users might get Rs6.62 per unit extra relief in their power bills, in addition to the tariff cut already announced by the government. This came up on Wednesday as NEPRA completed a hearing on a petition asking for a tariff reduction based on the fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for February 2025.
If NEPRA approves the petition, K-Electric (KE) customers could benefit about Rs6.662 billion. KE pushed for a partial adjustment, saying it wants to give financial relief to customers during the hot summer months when power usage and bills increase. Industrial groups opposed this, calling for a full adjustment.
During the hearing, KE CEO Moonis Alvi responded to a question about who should pay for independent verification. He said that it is common worldwide for applicants to cover costs for feasibility studies, environmental checks, and risk assessments while applying for loans for new projects.
NEPRA officials clarified that capacity payments in the power generation tariff are based on plant availability and have always been part of the structure. Earlier, customers saw a single rate, but new rules now break down the tariff for transparency.
Tanveer Barry, Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), said NEPRA should share data on time so stakeholders can raise concerns properly. NEPRA said it met all its timelines and SLAs, providing a timeline as proof.
It stated tha this proposed relief is separate from the government’s overall tariff cut and is an extra benefit from KE. NEPRA will announce its decision after reviewing the data and arguments shared by KE.
During the hearing, industrial groups asked NEPRA to speed up the approval of a multi-year tariff. Rehan Javed said relying on temporary numbers makes long-term planning difficult and slows economic growth.
Stakeholders criticised an agreement with bagasse-based IPPs, saying it unfairly shifts 70% of the rupee depreciation cost to consumers. A power ministry official said consumers earlier paid 100% of this cost, and the new structure gives some relief.
The amendment stated: “foreign O&M: PKR/USD depreciation shall be allowed only to the extent of 70% of the actual depreciation per annum. In case the PKR appreciates against the USD in a year, then 100% of such appreciation shall be passed on to the consumers.”
Speakers said this still burdens consumers, especially since the sugar industry already makes good profits. A separate agreement with nine IPPs will offer Rs1/unit relief to consumers.
The Power Division proposed to revise the fuel cost component of the tariff starting October 1, 2021, setting Rs4,500 per ton with a 5% yearly indexation. Fuel would be measured at 7,000 BTU/kg, and working capital costs would drop by 50% for all bagasse IPPs except Shahtaj.

Saudi authorities have announced plans to set up rest zones for Hajj pilgrims at several locations in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah. The announcement was made during a briefing to Prince Saud bin Mishaal, the Deputy Governor of Makkah, as part of preparations for the upcoming Hajj season.
Officials shared that shaded walkways covering 50,000 square metres are being built for pedestrians in Mina. In addition, around Jabal al-Rahmah in Arafat, 60,000 square metres of shelters with misting fans are being installed. These steps are being taken as high temperatures and large crowds continue to raise concerns about the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
This development is part of the broader plan by Saudi authorities to improve the Hajj experience. Authorities want to ensure that pilgrims can perform their religious duties with ease and in better conditions. The focus is to provide relief from heat and crowd pressure during the pilgrimage.
In another major development, Saudi Arabia has increased Pakistan’s Hajj quota by 10,000 pilgrims. Officials made this announcement last week. The decision came after Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and requested more Hajj slots for Pakistan.
Pakistani officials say the increase in the quota shows Saudi Arabia’s strong support for Pakistan and reflects the good relations between the two countries. Thousands of Pakistanis are still on the waiting list for Hajj this year, and authorities believe that the extra 10,000 slots will help ease pressure on applicants and allow more people to perform Hajj.
Officials added that the move is timely and will be helpful for those who had applied but were unsure about getting a slot. The new arrangements, including resting areas and additional quota, are expected to make this year’s Hajj more manageable and safer for all pilgrims.

Pakistan Receives Bodies of 8 Workers Killed in Iran Incident
Bahawalpur, April 17, 2025: The bodies of 8 Pakistani workers killed in Iran’s restive Sistan-Balochistan province have been received with respect upon repatriation and arrived at Bahawalpur early Thursday morning.
A special plane arrived at Bahawalpur Airport at around 3:00 am with the victims’ remains. Seven deceased were from Bahawalpur’s Khanqah Sharif, and one was from Multan district’s Shujaabad, official sources reported. The bodies were directly shifted by ambulance to their respective hometowns to be buried.
Strict Security and Official Presence at the Airport
For a hassle-free reception, tight security arrangements were made at Bahawalpur Airport. Senior officials, such as the Bahawalpur Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, remained present to oversee arrangements and provide condolences to the mourning families.
Workers Targeted in Iran’s Mehrestan District
The victims worked as car mechanics in Mehrestan town, about 230 kilometres from the Pakistan-Iran border. On April 12, armed men broke into their workshop and shot them dead at point-blank range.
The bloodshed has raised demands for better security for Pakistani nationals employed abroad, particularly in sensitive areas.
The government of Pakistan condemned the killings in strong terms, calling on Iran to arrest the perpetrators and provide speedy justice. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called the attack a “barbaric act of terrorism” and called for Iranian authorities to provide complete transparency on the motive behind the attack.
Ongoing Instability in Sistan-Balochistan
Iran’s Sistan-Balochistan province continues to be a hotbed of violence between separatist insurgents, criminal groups, and drug smugglers. The attack highlights the region’s chronic instability and the imperative for urgent bilateral cooperation to safeguard civilian lives.
The return of the eight victims has attracted national focus on the security of Pakistani workers overseas. While Pakistan grieves, the international community is keenly awaiting Iran’s response and adherence to justice.

Summer Skincare Is Important
The skincare routine needs to evolve with the seasons. In summer, heat and humidity increase sebum production. This can clog pores and cause breakouts. Meanwhile sun exposure can lead to pigmentation, premature aging and dullness. This is why it gets more important to take care of the skin during summers.
However, this doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. These easy, natural DIY summer skincare treatments are not only effective but also fun to make. Whether it’s battling sunburn, dullness, or oily skin, nature has a solution.

The King Under Pressure: Can Babar Azam Find His Way Back?
Let’s be honest — watching Babar Azam struggle has been tough. Not just for fans, but for former greats of the game, too. Everyone has an opinion, and for once, they all seem to agree on one thing: Babar needs to evolve — both as a batter and as a person under pressure.
Recently, three respected voices from Pakistan cricket — Zaheer Abbas, Rashid Latif, and Shoaib Mohammad — weighed in on what’s really going wrong with Babar.
Zaheer Abbas, aka the Asian Bradman, didn’t mince words. He said it seems like Babar either has an ego problem or is too shy to ask for help.
That’s a strong statement, especially coming from someone who knows what it’s like to deal with form slumps and public pressure.
Zaheer even recalled how Azharuddin, during India’s tour of Pakistan in 1989-90, came to him for advice. “I told him to change his grip,” Zaheer said, “and that simple fix worked wonders.”
He also pointed out a technical issue. According to Zaheer, Babar’s stance has become too closed, and he looks rushed while playing his shots — a sign that he’s struggling to adjust to the ball’s pace.
Rashid Latif, often referred to as Pakistan’s sharpest cricketing mind, took a different route. He didn’t blame Babar Azam alone. Instead, he highlighted a bigger issue — the lack of mentorship in the dressing room.
“There’s no proper mentor or batting coach around,” Latif said. “And when you’re under pressure, you need someone to help you wriggle out. Right now, Babar has to figure things out on his own.”
That’s a tough ask for anyone — especially when the spotlight never leaves you.
Then came Shoaib Mohammad, the son of legendary Hanif Mohammad and a solid Test batter in his own right.
He believes bowlers have figured Babar out. They know his go-to shots — the cover drive, the pull — and have started targeting his weakness against spin.
Shoaib says Babar’s frustration is visible when boundaries don’t come. And instead of adjusting, he seems stuck between wanting to live up to his “King” image and trying not to let fans down.
“He recently told fans not to call him ‘King’. That shows he’s feeling the weight of that title,” Shoaib added. “Maybe it’s time he talks to a cricket psychologist and clears his mind.”
Babar is currently at a crossroads, the talent and class are is still there, but something is clearly off — mentally, technically, or maybe both.
Legends are urging him to ask for help, to rework his technique, and most importantly — to reconnect with the game without letting pressure eat him up.

In a cricket-obsessed country like Pakistan, few decisions stir debate like a major PSL trade. And when that trade involves Babar Azam, the conversation never really ends.
Now, Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal has finally opened up about the real reason behind letting go of Pakistan’s star batter ahead of PSL 2023 — and it wasn’t about money, attitude, or performance. It was about batting position.
Speaking in a candid chat, Salman Iqbal revealed that the franchise had asked Babar to bat at number three, not his usual spot at the top.
“We wanted him to bat at number three,” Iqbal said. “But he was unwilling to change his role. That’s why we were forced to release him.”
Simple as that. No drama. No politics. Just a tactical disagreement.
Babar Azam, throughout his career, has preferred to open — whether for Pakistan, Karachi Kings, or now Peshawar Zalmi. He sees himself as the anchor, someone who sets the platform and builds the innings. And frankly, his numbers back him up.
Babar Azam — the Opener: The Numbers Don’t Lie
In 90 PSL innings, Babar has opened 76 times, scoring 3,103 runs at an average of 47.01 and a strike rate of 129.13. That includes 28 fifties and 2 hundreds.
You can’t argue with those stats. But recent form? That’s a different story.
In PSL 10, he’s had a rough start. A duck against Quetta Gladiators, followed by just 1 run against Islamabad United — it’s not the kind of start a player like Babar wants or expects.
Since his brilliant 151 against Nepal in August 2023, Babar hasn’t scored a single century in any format. That’s surprising for someone who was once considered one of the most consistent batters in world cricket.
He struggled during the tri-nation ODI series against New Zealand and South Africa, putting up scores of 10, 23, and 29. Even in the Champions Trophy 2025, his numbers were below par — 64 against New Zealand and 23 against India.

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez might not be wearing the green jersey anymore, but he’s still deeply invested in the team’s future. And he’s not staying quiet about it either.
In a refreshing move, Hafeez recently launched a fan-driven campaign on X (formerly Twitter), called #AskProfessor, where he responded to cricket lovers across the globe.
From tactical suggestions to strong opinions, Hafeez covered a lot—especially about Pakistan’s current T20 landscape. Let’s break down some of the key takeaways from this candid session.
Usman Khan vs Sahibzada Farhan?
With the Usman vs Farhan debate heating up in PSL 10, Hafeez didn’t pick sides. Instead, he delivered a golden piece of advice that applies to both.
“First thing [that] gets challenged at professional level is ur TECHNIQUE,” he wrote. “Need to improve it every day.”
Simple, but on point. Both batters have impressed in domestic and franchise cricket, but the international stage demands more. Hafeez believes it’s not about one replacing the other—it’s about who adapts and polishes their fundamentals.
Saim Ayub & Abdullah Shafique: Pakistan’s Bright Future
While others debated the current squad, Mohammad Hafeez looked ahead. He singled out Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique as the future of Pakistan cricket.
“May they stay away from all distractions,” he added—a subtle reminder of the challenges that come with early fame.
Hafeez even placed his confidence in Saim as a long-term option for Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, especially at the top of the order.
On Babar & Rizwan: Talent Isn’t Enough, Evolution is Key
The former skipper didn’t shy away from discussing two of Pakistan’s most talked-about names—Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
“They are quality players… but they need to upgrade their approach and skills,” Hafeez said.
He acknowledged their match-winning ability but urged both to evolve with the pace of modern-day T20 cricket. In a format that demands aggression and adaptability, Hafeez’s advice hits home.
Mohammad Hafeez also didn’t hold back when defending Rizwan from recent online trolling over his English-speaking skills.
“Sad to see people shaming a star for his language ability. Very sad.” It was a necessary reminder that skill, not accent, defines a cricketer’s worth.

How to Get a Job With No Experience? (Yes, It’s Very Possible)
We need to discuss the job market, because let’s be honest, it’s somewhat flawed. Every entry-level job seems to require two years of experience. Meanwhile, fresh graduates, career-switchers, and self-taught go-getters are stuck playing a frustrating game of “chicken and egg.” Well, here is the cheat code: you can get a job with no experience. It’s just about playing the game differently and smartly. Because truthfully? The system might be rigged, but it’s not impenetrable.
Getting a Job With No Experience: Tips For Beginners
Luckily, it’s not as hopeless as it seems. Many people break into industries every day without years of experience under their belts. The trick? Knowing how to position yourself, hustle smartly, and stand out from the crowd.
1. Let’s Redefine “Experience,”- Many People Have it Twisted
Here’s what most people get wrong: they assume “experience” only counts if it’s in a formal job with a title and paycheck. Ironically enough, it is very wrong.
Experience is anything that shows you can do the thing. This can include managing a student organisation’s social media accounts or running a small Etsy shop or dropshipping hustle. Even volunteering at college events, organising logistics and editing videos for a friend’s YouTube channel counts. Know how to code or build a basic portfolio site? Mention it.
Hot take: If you’ve done something valuable, learned from it, and can explain it well? It’s experience. Don’t let job descriptions gaslight you.
2. The Resume Game is Outdated: It’s Time to Play It (Strategically)
Resumes are, let’s face it, outdated. A person is expected to fit their whole life and potential into one piece of paper, hoping that some HR software won’t toss it before a human even sees it. So how do you stand out with no “official” job title?
Lead with value, not just job history. Use a strong summary statement at the top that sells your motivation, relevant skills and hunger to learn. Add transferable skills from school, hobbies, volunteering, or side hustles. Then, use bullet points to show actions and results. Numbers and outcomes make your work real.
The most important part here is how the framing of words is being done. If you volunteered at a school event then write, “Coordinated logistics for a school fundraising event with 200+ attendees, resulting in $5,000 raised.”
Tailor the resumes for every role. Yes, generic resumes don’t work anymore. Get it made by a professional resume maker if need be- someone who can optimise the resume for the applicant tracking system (ATS).
Unpopular opinion: You don’t need a perfect resume. You need a compelling story that makes someone say, “This person’s got potential.”
3. Projects Over Paper : Let Your Work Do the Talking
Anyone that really wants to cut through the noise should stop talking and start showing. Personal projects, freelance gigs or even just detailed case studies of things are more powerful than buzzwords.
Want to get into marketing? Run a mock social media campaign. Dream of becoming a UX designer? Redesign a popular app and write about the thought process. Interested in finance? Create a mini investment portfolio and track performance.
Truth bomb: A real-world project, even if it’s a self-initiated one is often more impressive than someone who interned and made coffee at a big firm.
4. Networking is More Important than Applying Blindly
People talk about this a lot but still ignore it for some reason. However, here’s the deal: networking is not about schmoozing at corporate mixers. Instead it’s about being visible, genuine and helpful. It is very important to connect with people on LinkedIn by commenting on their posts and starting conversations with them.
Ask them questions, not for a job but for insight. Keep aside the ego and start staying on radar. This isn’t about begging. It’s about building relationships. And yes, it takes time. But when a role opens up and your name rings a bell? That’s your shortcut past the resume pile.
Real talk: 70%+ of jobs aren’t even posted publicly. If you’re not networking, you’re missing the real job market.
5. Take Free Courses and Actually Finish Them
This one’s simple, but powerful. Platforms like Coursera, Google Career Certificates, Udemy and LinkedIn Learning are goldmines. Use these platforms to pick a relevant course and complete it properly. Then, add it to your resume and LinkedIn. Write a post or blog summarising what you learned.
Opinion: A $19 Udemy course won’t make a person an actual senior data analyst. But it shows initiative — and most hiring managers respect that more than a stale GPA.
6. Nail the Interview bTelling Your Story, Not Just Answering Questions
Let’s say, you finally land an interview, but then what? Now the job is to connect the dots for the interviewer. Utilise the lack of experience. It can be a superpower. Explain how the non-traditional path, personal projects and hunger to learn make you a great fit. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to tell stories that stick.
Advice: Own up to the lack of formal experience without apologising for it. Share brief personal anecdotes in cover letters and interviews that show how life lessons taught you to be dedicated, hardworking, and motivated; the very qualities employers are looking for in new employees. They want someone passionate but not desperate.
7. Stay in the Game: Losers Quit When it Gets Difficult
Let’s not sugarcoat it: getting that first job can be a big hassle. Getting ignored, ghosted and rejected is almost impossible to avoid. But here’s what separates those who get hired from those who don’t: resilience.
Every application, every interview, every networking call — it’s all compounding. Keep learning. Most importantly, keep showing up.
Hard truth: The job you’re dreaming about? Someone less talented but more persistent than you will get it. Why? Because they refused to quit.
8. Find Entry-Level Jobs Beyond “Easy Apply”
First things first — yes, they exist. But you have to dig a little deeper than just hitting “Easy Apply” on LinkedIn. Instead, start looking at startup job boards (like AngelList or Wellfound) and niche platforms (e.g., Dribbble for creatives, GitHub Jobs for developers). Even local business listings and community job boards do the work.
What to Look For:
Titles like “Junior,” “Assistant,” “Trainee,” “Coordinator,” “Intern”
Keywords like “entry-level,” “willing to train,” “no experience necessary”
Apprenticeships, internships and freelance gigs
Pro tip: Don’t get hung up on titles. Some “Assistant” roles offer more real-world experience than big-name internships.
The Types of Jobs that can be Done with No Experience
Many in-demand industries are open to beginners. Here are high-potential jobs that can be landed with no experience:
Customer support
Sales associate / SDR
Data entry / admin Roles
IT support
Digital marketing assistant
Social media manager
Virtual assistant
The Types of Jobs That Can Be Done With No Experience
You Don’t Need Experience, You Need Proof
The traditional job market worships experience, but experience isn’t the only path to competence. Proof of skill is the real currency.
And the good news? You can build proof without permission. This can be done through projects, networking, storytelling and good old-fashioned grit.
So no, the odds might not be stacked in your favour, but if you’re scrappy, smart, and strategic? You’ll beat the system and will understand how simple it is to get a job with no experience.
Good Luck!
