These Pakistani Celebrities Are Getting Trolled Over a Harmless Picture!

it’s December which means that Shaadi season is in full swing. From our neighborhoods to our uncle’s garden, every venue is echoing our chuckles and laughter from our festive gatherings, dholkis, and other functions that make shaadis as grand as they are in Pakistan.

From our friends to our favorite celebs, everyone’s busy attending weddings. Recently, Anushka and Virat Kohli had a destination wedding, and to be honest, there wedding photos are to die for!

After all, our favorite month of the year, December is meant to bring loved ones together!

One of our favorite Pakistani celebrities, Sanam Baloch, also attended her friend’s dholki, looking absolutely stunning in a lehanga choli.

‘The Morning Show’ host posted a picture of herself, all dolled up, on Instagram.

Bonding!!!! 🔥@farhanbaloch Ghanwa ki Dholki! 💋#sanambaloch #official #exclusive

Partying along with her was the bubbly beauty, Hina Altaf

Behnen …. 💕 THANK YOU @SANOBERAZFAR for these beautiful dresses @sanamabaloch @laraibtheba7

And uff she was killing it in her white ensemble!

🙄

A post shared by Hina Altaf Khan (@hinaaltaf) on

Her ghaghra choli was to die for!

While fans were praising them, there were others who were offended because they chose to wear an Indian attire and were even wearing a bindi.

Here’s how people commented on their photos.

They brought in ‘the akhrat’

They made sure to remind Sanam of the Muslim rituals

And the never-ending taunts!

“Achi lag rahi ho par ye galat hai!”

The “Bindi Drama” comment!

I love you but…

In a nutshell, they were hating the bindi and the choli look on the ladies!

The pictures have been going viral and definitely for all the wrong reasons. These days, everyone is a critic and they think that they have the right to judge you on each and everything, specially on how you look, what you are wearing, and your body weight.

Internet is full of crappy comments of people body-shaming and bashing celebs on how they dress. I hope people realize that there are far more important things than just passing comments on the internet. I hope people start to utilize their time better.

The petitioner’s lawyer, Barrister Shoaib Razaq even made a more shocking allegation that:

“Amir Liaquat has no Islamic degree or certificate yet he calls himself ‘aalim’”

India Copies Pakistan’s CSS Exams

there have been several incidents where Pakistani songs are copied by the Bollywood industry across the border. However, in a twist of events, it was reported by the Hindustan Times that a majority of questions in the competitive preliminary exams directed by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) were copied from a Pakistani website.

Shockingly, the Questions were from Pakistan’s CSS Resource Website!

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that most of the questions were from the CSS Forum Website. The CSS website is a resource platform for candidates appearing for the civil services examinations in Pakistan.

Some questions were taken from 2008 Union Public Service Commission exams but the options given were not appropriate. Students complained that almost 90% of the questions were copied from the online forum.

Tapi Omo, an Indian candidate, mentioned to Hindustan Times,

“Some of the questions in general studies, sociology, and political science were in the context of a foreign country. We cross-checked and found they were straight out of the Pakistani resource site.”

A re-sit of the exam has been demanded by a member of the steering committee Nani Bath,

“As most of the question papers of the examination were photocopied and some were also tampered with, we cannot deny the possibility of a leak. Moreover, too much copy-pasting has been done while setting up the papers, which is illegal.”

It is shocking to see an official Indian Civil Services department taking examination material off our very own online forums. Well at least we’re sure our standards are such that countries chose to copy them!

6 Reasons NOT to Buy Bitcoin

Over the last couple of weeks, the word that’s been on the top of everyone’s mind is Bitcoin.

This is because the cryptocurrency is taking the world by storm. By being the first decentralized digital currency to exist, it has sparked the interests of people all over the world.

However, despite Bitcoin being hailed as one of the most profitable things to invest in, many don’t realize that all is not what it seems.

Not everyone is going to end up with the same benefits from using Bitcoins and not everyone using the cryptocurrency is going to become a multi-millionaire overnight.

Here are some of the reasons as to why you shouldn’t invest in Bitcoins.

1. Volatile in nature

By default, you need to be aware of the risks that come with investing in cryptocurrency. Given their nature, it is always safe to assume that they will always be volatile in nature.

This is because, given their virtual stance, there is no certain way of forecasting where the currency will go, or what needs to be analyzed to understand its trends.

Such volatility makes it almost impossible to forecast what is going to happen with the Bitcoin and hence if you do invest in it just keep in mind that you are going in blind.

2. Is this legal?

Quite probably one of the main issues that everyone should have with bitcoin is whether it is legal or not.

At this point in time it hasn’t been declared illegal as such, however, it also hasn’t been considered to be a recognized currency for many countries including Pakistan.

3. Can’t be classified as a commodity or a currency

By now, you need to be pretty aware of the other really big issue that comes with bitcoins. The main issue is that there is no way of classifying it as a commodity or a currency.

This once again stems from the fact that the currency has no physical form, unlike every other form of currency that has been used before.

You are never in real contact with your bitcoin and this makes it very hard to classify it in any form of classical currencies.

4. What regulation?

Bitcoin operates in the digital world. This means that there is no law or government or bank involved in the entire transaction.

Hence, it amplifies that if someone was to con you, or not deliver on their promise there would be no way to hold them accountable.

This just confirms the fact that there is no real method of regulating or keeping a check on things and you stand a very high probability of being ripped off.

5. This is where the weird stuff happens

Given its nature of not needing any legal or formal methods of tracking it down, bitcoin also helps you maintain anonymity when it comes to your transactions.

This has made it the ideal choice of currency to be used on the darknet to buy goods and services that are considered illegal in most parts of the world.

With this direction that bitcoin has taken many claims that it would be wrong to promote a currency that encourages such dealings.

6. If you don’t get it – get out

Many believe that cryptocurrency is nothing but a big bubble. This means it’s going to keep expanding till it eventually pops or blows up.

This means that in order for you maximize the profits (if any) that you could make you would need to really understand how the whole online currency world works.

However, if you aren’t well versed in this area, it is probably a better idea to steer clear in order to avoid any and all chances of losing all of your investment.

Fawad Khan Was Approached for a Bollywood Movie NOBODY Knew About!

fawad-khan-hot-photoshoot-lead

It has been almost a year since India banned Pakistani celebrities to feature in Bollywood movies.

The Indian nationalist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) film workers association had threatened all of our stars working in Bollywood to the leave their land and never come back.

However, no matter how much our neighboring nation shies away from supporting Pakistani luminaries working in Bollywood, we all know that our stars have outshined themselves across the border every time.

From Mawra Hocane to Mahira, Humaima to Saba, Sajal to Ali Zafar; there is a never-ending roll of Pakistani icons who made it big in India!

And leading the list is, of course, the king of all heartthrobs- Fawad Khan

#forbeslife have you grabbed your copies?

A post shared by Fawad A Khan (@fawadkhan81) on

His Bollywood debut ‘Khoobsurat’ with Sonam Kapoor created a furor in the industry and was successful trysts continued with Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

However, as per reports, Khan was offered as many as 5 Bollywood movies post-Uri attacks.

And one of them is Kaalakaandi that now features Saif Ali Khan!

The director of the film, Akshat Verma spilled the beans in an interview:

“Fawad was supposed to be one of the actors we talked to when the project was with UTV. It was around 2013… He was going to play the role Saif plays. But ultimately everything happens for a reason and for the best. No one could have done the role better than Saif”

Fawad Khan might have starred in just three films in India but he is undeniably the hottest property that conquered Bollywood in a matter of two years!

We bet that not a single actor from the neighboring nation can compete with our Pakistani heartthrob.

Do you think Fawad Khan could have done a better job that Saif Ali Khan?

Google is Hiring People to Clean YouTube

Social media has given a platform to people to express their ideas freely, but sometimes, this platform is taken wrongly and often misuse it. Google is now going on a hiring spree to try to stamp out offensive videos and comments on YouTube.

To reduce the count of “problematic content”, Google is hiring 10,000 people to clean YouTube

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said in a blog post:

“By 2018, Google aims to have more than 10,000 people working to address content that might violate our policies”.

She did not tell us how many people are currently working on this problem, but this is said to improve in the coming year. It’s also working on imposing more restrictions on advertising to make better use of this technology.

Adding on, Wojcicki said,

“Some bad actors are exploiting our openness to mislead, manipulate, harass or even harm. YouTube’s trust and safety teams have reviewed nearly 2 million videos for violent extremist content over the past six months.”

Google aims to give advertisers the peace of mind that their ads are running alongside content that reflects well on their brand values.

Last month only, YouTube had to hire an extra team to filter out its content of its kid’s platform, YouTube Kids, despite constant screening, some videos were marked as “profane and violent”.

YouTube Implements New Policies to Tackle Inappropriate Children’s Content

The company has already removed 150,000 videos from its face with the help of its machine learning algorithms that filter out “bad” videos, which is equal to 180,000 people having to work 40 weeks to assess the same amount of content.

Wojcicki further added,

“Because we have seen these positive results, we have begun training machine-learning technology across other challenging content areas, including child safety and hate speech.”

While most of these hires are content reviewers, Google is also recruiting engineers and policy specialists to work on refining its machine learning technology.

Instagram is Testing Standalone Direct Message App

Instagram is soon going to launch its Direct message service standalone version called, ‘Direct’.

It is quite apparent that the service is quite similar to Snapchat – another major social app popular amongst young users. The ‘Direct’ app opens into a camera so you can take a shot and send it directly to your contacts, friends, and followers.

Everyone knows that Instagram is a pictorial application.

With Direct, they want to keep a similar approach. Currently, the app is only available in six countries, including Portugal, Israel, Turkey, Italy, Chile, and Uruguay. According to The Verge, it’s the first step taken by Instagram towards potentially eliminating the message feature from the program completely.

Since the app is still in the testing mode, the features are still being discovered. Right now it is allowing the users to take and exchange photos, text, or video with one or a group of people.

Content shared through ‘Direct’ is only limited to this app.

It cannot be shared on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook simultaneously. The content here also doesn’t appear on location pages and hashtags.

While most people regard this new add-on as ‘unnecessary’, other’s think it’s quite useful and convenient.

According to a spokesperson for the company, “We want Instagram to be a place for all of your moments, and private sharing with close friends is an important part of that.”

She further confirmed that they are currently in the testing mode and will soon be launching the app worldwide.

The spokesperson also highlighted how such ideas will help them to learn and grow with time to stay on top of the market.

If what she visions come true, Direct will soon join hands with WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Messenger as an interested messaging service.

A similar approach was taken by the Parent company – Facebook – back in 2014 when it launched a separate Messenger app and later forced the Facebook users to download the app as a standalone messenger service.

To justify, Mark Zuckerberg – the Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Facebook – emphasized how each app is designed to focus on providing one service efficiently and to improve the overall user interface with Facebook, this step was necessary.

With how it seems right now, Direct is following similar footsteps.

The Verge further described that Direct currently features three different screens: A profile, a camera, and an inbox. The app also gives direct access to the core Instagram app and back to Direct. It also features a few exclusive filters for the users to get started with.

Instagram further confirms that Direct will offer the best experience to the user by proving itself as the most reliable and fun camera-first, standalone application!

TCF & Lipton Sign Partnership to Add 10 New Schools Across Pakistan

Shazia Syed, the Chairperson & CEO of Unilever Pakistan and Ateed Riaz, Co-Founder and Current Chairman of The Citizen’s Foundation (TCF), signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the TCF school in Qayyumabad.

The signing served as the first step towards Lipton and TCF’s aim of taking action against child labor by creating awareness regarding the importance of child education.

The event was opened by Asma Yusuf, Sustainability Lead for Unilever, who gave an overview of Lipton’s program, followed by a short recitation of the Quran by a TCF student. Shazia Syed addressed the audience about the newly formed partnership, highlighting that Lipton has adopted ten TCF schools in Pakistan.

She emphasized the importance of education in a gradually progressing nation like Pakistan, “With this initiative, Lipton wants to be awake to what really matters – 20 to 25 million kids in Pakistan are out of school. That’s a big figure, the second worst in the world and Lipton believes that we, as a society, need to unite and help these children fight for a better, brighter future.”

Keeping into consideration the need to educate as many children as possible, through this partnership, Lipton has adopted 10 TCF schools and calls upon all Pakistanis to contribute towards this cause and improve educational facilities for kids across the country.

Following Shazia’s speech, the well-reputed Ateed Riaz delivered a few words to the audience.

He laid great emphasis on quality education in Pakistan, which is needed to minimize child labor. “We need to accept the sad reality that child labor is a serious problem within our country. Unfortunately, it is increasing day by day and not enough citizens seem to be taking action for the unprivileged children who aspire to seek education. This is why TCF and Lipton have joined hands to school as many children as possible. I believe this small step can eventually make a big difference.”

Mushtaq Chhapra took the stage next, emphasizing that if the youth is educated, all social problems will automatically be lessened from Pakistan.

According to him, “Education is in all entirety the key to lessen poverty, illiteracy and other caste issues. Hence, this partnership is very valuable to us.  Lipton is the first brand to reduce the gap between the corporate and social sectors and this is why I would like to thank Unilever for joining hands with us to eradicate child labor and educate as many children as possible. I hope our actions in 2018 manage to create more awareness and bring us closer to our goal.”

After both the speeches, the visual representation of Lipton and TCF’s partnership was unveiled. This was a map of Pakistan, where the TCF schools were marked and the ten schools adopted by Lipton were highlighted in yellow. The map served as an impactful symbol of Lipton’s first step into this partnership, displaying the brand’s aim to be able to add more yellow marks to the school map, in the near future.

Towards the end, a question and answer session was conducted where both Shazia Syed, Mushtaq Chhapra and Ateed Riaz answered the media representatives’ queries. Through their answers, it was quite apparent that both Lipton and TCF see this partnership as a viable one, with its core purpose being to ensure an easier access to education by enrolling as many children as possible in the nearest TCF schools.

France to Ban Mobile Phones in Schools

It has been a forever debate if children should be allowed to carry cell phones in schools. Various institutes all over the world permit cellular devices in institutes but they are supposed to be silenced during class or study periods.

While they can be a convenient way for learners to stay in touch with their family, mobile gadgets are also a source of massive disruption and distraction in an academic environment. What is more, it has become a tech-savvy method of passing notes in school.

Hence, in its latest move, France has now called for a complete ban of mobile phones in the country’s primary, junior and middle schools.

According to the new rule imposed by Jean-Michel Blanquer, the French education minister:

“Children will be allowed to bring their phones to school, but not allowed to get them out at any time until they leave, even during breaks”

The new decision will come into effect from the beginning of the new school year in September 2018. All students who start school at age of six to 15 years old when they start secondary school will be prohibited from using smartphones within school premises.

According to the Education Minister:

“These days, the children don’t play at break time anymore. They are just all in front of their smartphones and from an educational point of view, that’s a problem”

Here’s how parents in France are reacting to the news!

Many are lauding the new move by the government!

Pakistani Celebrities Win The Internet For Supporting Transgender Rights

Between protesting against sexual harassment, rallying against religious freedom and fighting against terrorism, transgenders in Pakistan are truly battling for their lives.

Their rights have forever been compromised and hence, they are always subjected to discrimination in the society. They are even slaughtered in the name of their gender and the continue to face violence every passing day.

However, it is about time we realize that we, as a nation, need to show that we respect and acknowledge their identity.

Realizing this, various Pakistani stars are showing solidarity and support to the trans community. Joining hands with Asia Pacific Transgender Network’s campaign, they have all come together to create a remarkable difference.

In a moving video message, OKB displayed his love and affection towards transgender in the nation in a truly heartwarming way!

I grew up in a society where the very term ‘hijra’ was (and still is) used mockingly to question masculinity; where the transgender community was seen as freaks of nature: to be indulged for a quick, nasty laugh; paraded, perhaps at weddings for entertainment.. but never respected.. never seen as human.

He urged for a change, calling for a unified society with same rights and civil liberties for all.

It’s time we change ridicule into applause. It’s time we show the transgender community they are not children of a lesser God. Change your mindset.

OKB’s thought-provoking gestures deserves a standing ovation from the audience.

Juggan Kazim too joined him in promoting the revolutionary idea!

Following her, were Ayesha Omar and Ahmed Ali Butt to applaud the transgender community.

This initiative is a massive wake up call for all of us who fail to exhibit empathy and love towards those who are most worthy of it!

United Autos

United Autos aka United Motorcycles were looking for a dealership to partner with to start their own automotive manufacturing and production in Pakistan.

Now, the latest from the aspiring brand is that it will not introduce one, but will introduce 2 new models.

Sources have stated that the first variant will be seen in the first-half of 2018. The brand has associated itself with a Chinese manufacturer for this project.

The cars will come under the brand name of ‘United’ after their production starts. The cars are being said to be direct competitors to cars like Suzuki Mehran and similar variants.

The second car in the making can be a 1000cc variant of a heavyweight/loader/pickup kind of car.

Cinemas to Reopen in Saudi Arabia by Early 2018

Saudi Arab has finally decided to lift the ban it had imposed on commercial cinemas more than thirty years ago.The news was further confirmed by the ministry of culture and information.

They are planning on issuing licenses immediately and are expecting to open the first cinema in the Kingdom by March 2018.

Just like multiple other changes implemented by the new Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman,  this too is a part of the 2030 vision of social and economic reform program.

Very few people are aware, but the Islamic republic Kingdom had commercial cinemas during the 1970s, which Islamic clerics persuaded the authorities to shut them down to save the Islamic morale.

Grand mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al al-Sheikh clearly warned against such open and domestic changes, claiming that opening cinemas and indulging in music is not good for the religion and may call for mixing between genders.

Other than religious authorities, even royal families are not in favor of this new establishment as it is against the codes and behavior of Islam.

According to the ministry, it open doors to more than thirty-two million people while the vision anticipates that by the year 2030, there will be more than 300 cinemas around the country.

The 32-year-old Crown Prince, who has already gained popularity for his 2030 Vision, is aiming to boost overall house spending on different entertainment and cultural activities by almost 3 percent.

The Saudi director, Haifaa Al Mansour, went to Twitter for the official announcement of cinema reopening and tweeted with an opening sentence that said,

“It’s a beautiful day in #SaudiArabia!”

2. The permission for women to drive for the first time in the history will commence from June 2018 – another major move opposed by religious authorities in the country.

The whole idea behind these changes is to make Saudi Arabia a country of moderate Islam, that is not only modern but also open to all people, traditions, culture, and religions with a higher tolerance level.

Social media had a field day and came up with prospective Saudi movie titles that will leave you in a fit of laughter!

For her mehendi, Anushka @anushkasharma wanted a boho look full of bright colours. Hot pink was her favourite. We created a graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange. It was hand-printed by the famed Calcutta block printers and hand-embroidered with gota and marori. Artists from The Sabyasachi Art Foundation rendered a beautiful sixties pop print and it was silk screen printed, hand woven Indian silk. Anushka accessorised herself with earrings from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection, a stunning pair of jhumkas crafted in 22k gold with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls. Custom juttis in hand woven brocade and zardosi completed the look. Virat @virat.kohli opted for a signature khadi kurta churidaar with our classic fuchsia pink textured silk Nehru jacket detailed with the Sabyasachi House blazer buttons. A custom tan leather jutti with a zardosi crest was created for the ensemble. #Sabyasachi #TheWorldOfSabyasachi #SabyasachiJewelry #AnushkaSharma #ViratKohli @bridesofsabyasachi @groomsofsabyasachi

The Biggest Food & Music Festival of KPK ‘7up Fiesta’ Successfully Rocked Peshawar

Last weekend, Peshawar witnessed the most avant-garde music and food event of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The city rejoiced and celebrated the love of food in the most magnificent way ever seen.

ALL THANKS TO 7UP FOOD FIESTA

7up Fiesta was the ultimate foodie festival which was hosted at the newly-constructed Hayatabad Food Street. This was the first-ever food and cultural extravaganza in Peshawar and the beverage brand certainly put up a great event!

Considering that the city has suffered much at the hands of terrorism, the response from the public was surprisingly amazing.

The famous 7up blends grabbed much attention!

People were eager to try them and loved them when they did!

With the cooking competitions, open–mic, cultural shows, and talent hunt activities, 7up engaged the crowd in fun moments and a reason to celebrate the culture of Pakistan.

An amazing variety of absolutely delicious food was present at the event which attracted a crowd of 10,000 – 12,000 Peshawaris, making it a house full! People definitely admired the eclectic foods because not a single stall was empty.

An act of kindness by Peshawar Food Diaries which melted our hearts was that they invited 300 students from the orphanage Dar Al Atfal to eat, drink and have fun in the play area – all paid for.

In the midst of all the food and excitement, magical musical performances by Badnaam, Abdullah Qureshi, Sawaal Band, Reet band, and Jehanzaib Bangash lit the night!

Two much needed nights of pure entertainment was the first step towards similar future events in Peshawar. 7up once again brought people together through food and an event like this surely caught everyone’s attention!
