PIA Slams Allegations of Using Expired Products on Flights

Pakistan International Airlines have always been in trouble and in the spotlight for the wrong news. From one scandal to another, the airline has definitely seen it all. However, this time around the tables have turned and the national carrier has bashed news channel for defaming PIA over ‘fake news’.

A news story aired by ARY News on Saturday mentioned PIA using expired hand cologne and other in-flight products on its flights.

However, the Pakistani airlines have strongly refuted the story, calling it absolutely fake and baseless!

In a statement issued by PIA, the spokesman said,

“PIA does not and has not ever used expired hand cologne or any other products on its flights”

The airline has also added a few pictures as Evidence to prove the news wrong!

The picture below shows the expiry date as September 2019.

PIA spokesperson has further explained that the entire stock at all stations are under strict vigilance and checked as per standard operating procedure. He also adds,

“The expiry dates of available stock are in the range of 2019 -2020. The news aired by ARY News is baseless, false and aimed to defame the airline.”

Aaroh’s Makes a Big Comeback With The Latest Song ‘Mein Nahin Maanta’

Rock Band Aaroh has announced their comeback with a brand new video.

The song titled Mein Nahin Maanta (DASTOOR) is a rock rendition of the revolutionary poet Habib Jalib’s iconic “Dastoor”.

Full of grit, the melody is accompanied by a video that includes a hard-hitting performance and a profound underlying message of social and political wrongs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0QPm8mpv-g&feature=youtu.be

With Farooq Ahmed on vocals, Khalid on bass, Jason on drums, the band has made their comeback with Asad ul Hafeez on Guitars.

According to members of the band, “We had been toying with the idea for some time and when Pepsi put up the second edition of the Battle of the Bands earlier this year, things started to fall into place. The feedback from our fans was phenomenal with requests for our return pouring in. Once we sat down and jammed together, there was no looking back. The toughest decision was to find someone who could live up to the bar set by our dearest and truly missed brother Haider Hashmi. As a music veteran in his own right, we are confident of our choice.”

Known for hardcore rock hits like Raag Neela and Pyaar Ka Jaal to ballads such as Na Kaho and Ik Chah, Aaroh has returned to the stage with music that’s bigger, better and bolder while still holding clear traces of its signature sound.

Bitcoin Bubble Buster Can Predict the End of Bitcoin!

With an uncertainty that comes with Bitcoin, many have their own opinions about the future of the cryptocurrency.

While on one hand where investors say the currency will outgrow itself and reach double its value by end of 2018, some predict its end.

Bitcoin being a cryptocurrency has a volatile behavior which is not constant. It is either going up at a rapid speed or comes across several mini-crashes without warning.

To predict the future of Bitcoin, a startup called Bitcoin Bubble Buster will supposedly tell you when the currency will meet its end using an artificially intelligent algorithm.

Not only crashes but it also tells you which will be the expected increase or decrease in value of Bitcoin inexact numbers.

Given that the prediction is based on an AI algorithm, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it will be 100% accurate, however, to a certain extent, it might be able to provide some insight into the future of the currency. The system will evolve and improve by using the historical data to predict better and more accurate outcomes.

This might come in handy for those who are considering investing in the currency and for those who already have, or are planning to invest in another currency, this might be something phenomenal.

Fake Sexist Statement of Amir Khan Going Viral on Social Media!

amir khan

The British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan is quite in the limelight these days, courtesy his much-hyped appearance on the reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

Over the past few months, his controversial clash with his wife Faryal Makhdoom drove everybody crazy. Apparently, the duo loves to wash their dirty linen in public and make their private lives a case of ‘Keeping Up with the Khan-dashians”.

So yet again, Amir has landed himself in a scandal and is being thrashed by haters for some pretty chauvinist statements.

But it seems like readers on the web have become a victim of BIG confusion as the statements have NOT been said by Amir Khan.

While we can expect Amir Khan to release such a bizarre statement, this time its really not his fault!

Apparently, BBC tweeted Asian Network tweeted a recording of various callers reacting to Amir Khan claiming that he doesn’t cook at home. Some really negative remarks about ‘women belonging to the kitchen’ were exchanged by the callers.

But now everybody is believing that Khan uttered all those sexist comments!

Here’s how the conversation went between the anonymous callers!

Caller 2: I would never cook. In my culture, women, that’s their job to do the cooking. They’re best at cooking. It’s a man’s job to actually do other jobs like the hard work, the hard labor jobs around the house.”

Caller 1: Doing housework is harder. I would not get as tired of my job as I do when I work at home. Until you don’t do it for yourself, you won’t realize how hard that is.”

Caller 2: I’ve got a dishwasher, washing machine, I’ve never actually known how to use these things. I would never touch those machineries, ever. You would turn into a woman. I’m a man. If I started dishwashing —”

Caller 3: If you use the machine, you would turn into a woman?

Caller 2:  Yeah.

Some people were smart enough to point it all out!

Whatever the media is claiming is totally wrong!

Even the ‘Goras’ are standing up for Amir!

Others are bashing BBC for creating all the furor with the audio clip.

Well, we know social media has enough reasons to take a dig at Amir Khan! However, this time this Amir’s negative publicity is simultaneously pointing fingers to the mindset of desi men, especially those from Pakistan. And that’s really not COOL!

Hamza Ali Abbasi Supports Karan Johar’s Stance on Item Numbers

What makes Hamza Ali Abbasi tick the most? The answer is most definitely ‘item numbers’. He is like a firecracker, which explodes whenever any soul supports the addition of a raunchy dance number is movies.

Controversy follows him everywhere he goes & every word he says becomes an issue! Countless times, Abbasi has vociferously kickstarted a debate that such songs are akin to Punjabi ‘mujras’ that objectify women and should be banned once and for all.

It all started three years ago when he took a dig at Mehwish Hayat’s item dance on ‘Billi’ in Na Maloom Afraad

Since then, he continues to bash all the starlets that bared it all for such songs!

Few months again, Abbasi returned again to attack Sadaf Kanwal for belly-dancing to Kaif O Suroor in Na Maloom Afraad 2

And every time he says a word against item numbers, Pakistanis leave no stone unturned to troll him into oblivion.

Well, they always do have a point!

Now recently, Karan Johar gave a shocking statement against item numbers. After all these years, he realized that it is NOT okay to normalize women objectification. Also, he apologized for Chikni Chameli and countless other melodies with sexually explicit content.

His apology gave Hamza Ali Abbasi yet another chance raise yet another furor. Very touchee’ we must admit!

So he has caused yet another social media stir & now people are now once taking his side!

ATM Cyber Attacks Take Karachi by Storm

Over the last couple of days, we have witnessed an increase in the number of ATM scams. These scams are done by hackers using sneaky tricks and the misuse of technology to steal an individual’s information so that their account can be accessed.

Several videos and stories have also surfaced. The videos show concerned citizens showing the viewers how hackers smartly place magnetic strips in fake parts which can easily be fixed on to ATM machines.

The magnetic strip copies the digits and information stored on a card while a hidden camera is placed over the pin-pad.

Asides the images and videos of fake parts being found in ATMs, many individuals are complaining that money is being stolen from them and that their bank cards were somehow blocked after the incidents. After contacting the bank, they were told that this activity was done by hackers, investigations are currently going on, and will come to a conclusion in 15-days.

The Federal Investigation Agency’s  (FIA) cybercrime division is currently looking into the matter of the hacked bank accounts. As of now, according to the investigation, users who have been complaining of stolen money have accounts belonging to Habib Bank  Limited.

Not just that, but HBL informed that around 600 customers across Pakistan have lost an amount approximately nearing to Rs. 10 million in the cyber attack. An FIA official added that a large number of cases surfaced from an ATM located in Khayban-e-Ittehad.

Other ATMs which were compromised by hackers belong to public places, including Dolmen Mall- Karachi and other locations in Islamabad. Banks have blocked the cards of those individuals whose account have been to be tampered with as a precaution.

Naved Asghar—Chief Marketing Officer-HBL has said that the bank will compensate the individuals who have become victims of the attack. He also added that the ATMs will be checked for bugs and will be re-checked and that new cards will be provided to the victims.

This scam was previously highlighted, however, it was not as big as this wave of attacks.

How To Keep Your Details Safe

Before inserting your card, do a quick inspection of the ATM. Try to look inside and around the insert slot, see if you can detect any loose parts which might indicate tampering. If not, another precautionary step which can be taken is to place an object over your hand while inserting your PIN so that the numbers are invisible.

Reporting The Crime

Be sure to report the crime if there is something unusual about the ATM or your account.

Alibaba Backed Meizu all Set to Enter Pakistani Smartphone Market

Today as we know it, is an evolution of yesterday. What is trending today most likely will become obsolete tomorrow. This is especially true in the technology and communications sector.

Which is exactly the reason why the mobile segment, in recent years, has become exciting for people. Smartphones have become an integral part of everyday lifestyles, replacing our watches, diaries, video game consoles, landline handsets, and cameras. The mobile companies have evolved tremendously over the years, and faced cut-throat competition amongst themselves, hence creating the necessity of constant innovation. Mobile phone companies bring new innovations with time while the consumers welcome the innovations and adapt to them swiftly.

Meizu backed by Alibaba, is a Chinese marvel which officially began its smartphone manufacturing in 2007 after realizing the need and appreciation of the mobile phone industry. In the recent two years, Meizu kept growing rapidly resulting in a sales revenue of 3 billion in 2016.

After success around the globe, Meizu has, just recently, spread its wings much further by investing in the Pakistani market and aiming to get bigger with the backing of its energetic and dedicated team. The founder of Meizu J.Wong, with his creative concepts, began initially with MP3 players till the product became successful in their own category. This led to the launch of smartphones from their model M8 which served as the first touchscreen phone in China of its time. M9 followed with retina display, MX with dual-core MX2 & MX3 with thin bezel boundary and MX4 Pro with front fingerprint identification.

These successful inventions caught the attention of Alibaba who invested an estimated $590 million in Meizu to acquire an undisclosed stake in the organization. After witnessing the success of Meizu, Alibaba developed a keen interest in the organization and began investing heavily in Meizu’s growth. This business deal between the two organizations will serve great purpose of both of them. With Alibaba providing resources and essential support in E-commerce, internet, mobile internet services, data analysis and other aspects while Meizu will extend Ali Baba’s mobile internet advantages in the promotion of its smartphones.

Meizu in its products pays great attention to Design, Manufacturing, innovation, and foremostly; Quality. Meizu is entering Pakistan with M6, M6 note, Pro 7 and  Pro 7 plus with dual LCD.

Its design philosophy focuses upon on beautifully engineered body while being compact and smart to look at. From blasting to polishing techniques, the smartphones deliver an exquisite full metal body.  The bespoke innovation stood out when except Apple, the only Android phone with the first front-mounted fingerprint came with Meizu’s MX4 Pro. However, this isn’t the full stop to the creativity as Meizu invested 2.5 million dollars in the mold of the Rear screen of its flagship smartphone. This idea came when it was realized that the interior space of mobile phones have become smaller making it difficult to add another. So all that can be seen on the front screen, can be easily viewed on Rear as well including notifications, selfies, wallpapers, alarm clock and so on.

For an unmatchable efficient experience, Meizu developed its own operating system in 2012. Flyme is based on Android for smoother operations, aligned user habits and offers greater security. With this, Meizu has become the official certified partner of Google. With every year, Flyme is also progressing with upgraded functionality and interaction. All Meizu phones are powered by that latest Flyme 6.0. With increasing sales of Meizu Smartphones, the users of Flyme have reached to 54 million and download of this app has reached to 25 billion. What makes it special is the experience of the new Intelligent Thinking Engine “One Mind” which understands the user’s habits, detects the status and identifies regular application by providing solutions accordingly.

Meizu has gained popularity in 30 overseas countries including Russia, Ukraine, Myanmar, Indonesia, Italy, Israel and many more while the venture in Pakistan offers great promise as well. With the organization’s vigorous expansion, the overseas sales of 2016 was 3.5 times that of 2015. Meizu invested in big sponsorships and advertisements in all these regions. So much so that users recognize its home color which remains blue.

When it comes to the users, we aren’t just talking about young people, we are talking about the progressive-minded, the tech-savvy, the adventure loving, experience fueled members of society that believe in settling for nothing less than the very best.

With the same notion, Meizu is set onwards with its success in Pakistan providing up-to-date products while already anticipating a great number of users.

Brilliance in Pakistan!

Pakistanis are Blaming this Oscar Winner for Islamabad Protests & Its Really Funny!

The Islamabad sit-ins which slowly took over the entire nation and caused the country to come to a standstill over the weekend were terrible and caused major inconvenience to hundreds across the country.

However, trust us Pakistanis to come up with someone who can take the blame for all the wrongs happening around us.

A similar incident happened over social media when a page uploaded a picture of the person behind all the protests. Little did they know the man was a popular Hollywood celebrity and started bashing him as being the ‘American’ behind the entire fiasco.

Can you guess who the actor being blamed is?

Unbelievably, it is none other than the mega Hollywood star, Leonardo Di Caprio. He was called an American officer that directed the protestors to act on his behalf.

The page on Facebook asked the public to send out ‘Laanats’ to Leo. Oh, the sheer stupidity!

And…as expected these were the comments!

We wonder what Leonardo would say if he found out what’s happening in Pakistan!

Of all the conspiracies and scandals to be linked to, we’re pretty sure this has to be the funniest Leonardo has been associated with. Kudos to whoever came up with it!

Google Launches Datally in Pakistan: An App That Saves You Data

Today Google announced Datally, a smart and simple Android app that helps smartphone users understand, control, and save mobile data. Datally works on all smartphones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and higher and is available today on the Google Play Store globally.

Datally helps solve one of the biggest pain points for smartphone users around the world — worries about data usage. Google found during extensive user research around the world that many smartphone users worry about running out of data.

“This is an especially acute problem for the newest generation to come online, known as the “Next Billion Users.” Not only are these smartphone users constantly thinking about data balances, but they do not understand where their data is going, nor do they feel in control over allocating data to the apps they really care about.

Datally empowers users to solve these problems with four key features:

Data Saver

Apps frequently use data in the background for updating content and information. Datally’s Data Saver feature lets users control data on an app-by-app basis, so that data only goes to apps they care about. People testing the app saved up to 30% of mobile data, depending on the way they used Datally.

Data Saver bubble

Once Data Saver is turned on, Datally’s Data Saver bubble will appear when a user goes into an app that is allowed to use data. Whenever that app uses data, the Data Saver bubble will show the current rate of data usage, and users can easily choose to block that app’s data use if things start to get out of control. The Data Saver bubble is like a speedometer for mobile data.

Personalized alerts

Datally alerts users when apps start consuming a lot of data, and it allows them to see how much data they’ve used on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Wi-Fi finder

There are also times when users want to use more data than they have on their mobile plans, such as when they want to watch HD videos. Public Wi-Fi is an important access point for high-bandwidth connectivity, so Datally’s Find Wi-Fi feature reveals the networks nearby, rated by the Datally community. Once connected, users can rate the Wi-Fi networks themselves based on their own experience.
