Well, the cricket superstar was a part of PSL season 1 and 2 but, he seems to be missing from season 3! This year no franchise picked Chris Gayle, and as much as it might hit you as a surprise, there are a couple of explanations for this!
1. Leave PSL 3 Mid-Way
Well, if Chris Gayle had been selected in any of the 6 franchises, he would have only been a part of a couple of matches, and most probably would not have been a part of the final matches, including the finale in Karachi.
The reason being is that West Indies is to play their qualifying match for the World Cup in the upcoming months, for which Gayle needs to be back home practicing to take the cup home.
2. Performance in PSL Seasons 1 & 2
We all know that when it comes to performing, Gayle and Afridi and on the same side of the court. There are days where they will leave you ecstatic, craving for more action, and then there are days where ducks seem to be a normal thing for them.
Same thing happened with Gayle in the last 2 seasons of Pakistan Super League. When he played for Lahore Qalanders in season 1, he secured a total of 13 runs in 5 matches, whereas he was only able to make just 160 in 9 matches in season 2.
3. Performing Better in IPL Over PSL
Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the direct competitors PSL has in cricket. If we compare his performance in PSL (given above) to his performances in IPL, we can see that there is no ‘wow factor’, however, the stats are comparatively better.
In fact, Gayle was able to secure more runs in the previous year compared to his stats in 2017. He secured 200 runs in 9 matches in IPL 2017, whereas he managed to gain 227 runs in IPL 2016, showing a deterioration in his performance over the last year.

Pakistanis in Denmark Allowed to Hold Dual Nationality!
It is estimated by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development that approximately 7.6 Million Pakistanis are living abroad. A majority of this number is residing in the Middle East and Europe.
For most countries, Pakistan does not allow citizens to hold dual nationalities except for a number of nations across the world. Out of the list, Pakistanis settled in Denmark can now hold a dual nationality as announced on Saturday by the Interior ministry in a notice.
As per the Ministry, there are 30,000 Pakistanis living in Denmark at the moment but have not been allowed to hold a dual nationality due to regulations. The notice further reads,
“Thirty thousand Pakistanis living in Denmark would benefit from the arrangement and be able to hold Danish nationality without renouncing the Pakistani nationality. More than 5,000 Pakistanis settled in Denmark visit Pakistan every year.”

The ongoing dual nationality matter had been pending with the federal government for years and the delay had created difficulties for the Pakistanis living amongst the Danish.
The Danish government has approved it from its parliament and allowed Pakistanis to hold a dual nationality after the Pakistani envoy in Denmark lodged the matter with the Danish government earlier this month.

HEC Bans 450 Programs From 180 Universities
Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Punjab has banned admission in certain programs in as many as 450 universities and degree awarding institutes in the province.
Hence, these institutes cannot permit any student an admission in their unapproved and unaccredited faculties, departments or programmes.
Reason For The Ban
Apparently, these institutes violated standards for quality set by the educational watch-dog. HEC was receiving complaints of irregularities in educational and administrative affairs
The banned programmes included Master, M.Phil and Ph.D. level. In this regard, an alert had also issued on HEC website and daily newspapers for students and parents, not to enrolled in these programmes of such institutions. Degrees of banned programmes will not be recognized and attested by HEC.

Canada to Speed Up Visa Process for Pakistani Students & Businessmen
An increasing number of students and businessmen have been migrating to Canada for further studies and conducting business due to better prospects and greater opportunities. However, the immigration process takes a long time but finally, there seems to be an improvement in the system.
It was recently announced by the Canadian Minister of Immigration and Citizenship Ahmed Hussen that the Canadian immigration services department will now speed up visa processing for Pakistani students and business professionals.
Ahmed Hussen has assured Commissioner Tariq Azim Khan on the speeding up of the immigration process on Saturday over a dinner hosted in honor of the Canadian Minister at the Pakistan House in Ottawa.
Khan mentioned that trade relations between the two countries need to be given a boost that would allow genuine traders to visit Canada to meet with fellow counterparts in order to increase trade volume between the two countries.
Ahmed Hussen added,
“The government is working hard to reduce the backlogs and speed up the visa applications in order to allow genuine students and traders to visit Canada.”
It was also discussed that there has been significant progress to speed up family reunion cases for Pakistani cases and support will be provided to Pakistani international students on University campuses in Canada as well.

PSL 3 2018 Player’s Draft: Over 475 Players to be a part of the Season
Pakistan Super League (PSL) is just a couple months away and is ready to gear up for its 3rd season!
The Player’s Draft is to take place this Sunday, 12th November, in Lahore with over 475 players to be a part of Pakistan’s biggest cricket league.
Franchises & Players
With the introduction of a new franchise this year, Multan Sultans, new players have a chance of taking part in the league for the first time. Each franchise will have 9 retained players in their squads and the remaining players will be selected through the draft.
According to the details which have been put forth, each franchise will get the opportunity to choose players from one round of Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories. Whereas two rounds will follow in Silver and Emerging categories.
Also, the franchises have the option of selecting up to 4 players for the supplementary category. Sources have added that apart from Indian cricketers, sportsmen from the world’s top performing cricket teams will be a part of the draft.
Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick, followed by Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans. However, this order can change depending on trade results, so it is not a locked-deal as of yet.

Pakistani Cricketers & Their Salaries in the Last 4 Years!
Details of the remuneration of national team players were presented in the Senate session, chaired by presiding officer Tahir Mushhadi. In the meeting, the figures of Pakistan’s cricket team surfaced over a period of 4 years.
During the session, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination presented written a reply about the salaries paid to the green shirt players over the past four years in the Senate via documents.
It was found that the highest earning cricketer in the last 4 years was none other than Test cricketer Asad Shafiq, with total earnings of Rs 111 million.
The cricketer is followed by the second-highest earning cricketer, all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez with Rs97.3 million. Whereas former Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq earned Rs 71.4 million as match fees.

Sana Bucha Takes a Dig at Mahira Khan Over Her Views on Harassment!
Mahira Khan’s leaked pictures with Ranbir Kapoor created a massive social media frenzy, one that is not going to die anytime soon.
Currently, she is up and about with the promotions of her upcoming Verna. And of course, the media is more interested in her stance about her scandal with Kapoor rather than knowing about Shoaib Mansoor’s magnum opus.

In an interview with BBC World, Khan did not shy away from speaking further about the controversy.

Mahira Khan & Haroon Shahid Talk About Their Roles in Verna [Exclusive]
Renowned filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor’s much-awaited feature film ‘Verna’ is releasing on November 17. Featuring everyone’s favorite Mahira Khan, the upcoming cinematic project will be dealing with social issues just as Shoaib Mansoor’s previous movies, Bol and Khuda Kay Liye. Haroon Shahid, the lead vocalist of SYMT will also be debuting alongside Mahira who is playing the role of a sexual assault victim in the film.
The trailer, which is packed with power and revenge, depicts how a couple’s life completely changes due to some uncertain life events. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it is one of the most anticipated movies of the year 2017!
Brandsynario conducted an exclusive interview with Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid, the lead pair of Verna. Here’s what the actors had to say about the movie and their experience!
Brandsynario: Generally, films in Pakistan are male-centric like NMA, JPA, and even Maula Jutt. How does it feel to play the role of an empowering woman in a female-centric film?
Mahira: The thing is that I don’t look at these films as male-centric or female-centric. Whether it’s Punjab, Namaloom or any of these films, I don’t look at it like that. I look at it as films. Everybody has a part to play. So when you say that this is a female-centric film or you have such an important part and you are carrying it on your shoulders, it kind of undermines the other characters. That’s not true. It surely is a story about this woman, but believe me, his (Haroon’s) role, Zaraar’s role, everybody who’s part of it is very important. So yeah, what feels good is to be a part of a film that has such a powerful script.
Brandsynario: How do you think a film like Verna will help Pakistan?
Mahira: Well, any other film like Verna. For example Khuda Kay Liye or Bol and a lot of other films or dramas that have been made before in Pakistan, it’ll start a debate. You will talk about it, right? Whether you agree with what she (Sara) does or not? Whether you agree with how she goes about it (her situation)? Because you see at the end of the day this surely has a message but it is a story about an individual. What would I have done if I was in her (Sara’s) place? I don’t know, you know! But what she does is a totally different thing. So, I don’t know if everybody will say that, “Yes, she did a good job!” I do think that people will talk and that’s important… to spark a debate!
Brandsynario: Give us a brief comparison of your roles in the films with Shoaib Mansoor?
Mahira: Oh, Well I started off with Shoaib Mansoor. So, six years ago was my debut and six years later is this poster (indicating towards Verna’s poster). In Bol, it was a really small part. I can’t really compare. The comparison is huge.
In Bol, I played this innocent girl which was there as one of the sisters, so, it’s a huge comparison. If you are asking me about the experience, how or what’s been different then, of course, it is very different because while shooting for Bol, Mansoor Sahab would let me do whatever I wanted to. Well, sort of! Over here, while shooting for Verna, it was much more! I had to be in total control of this character… she is the film!
Brandsynario: What inspired you to sign up for this challenging character?
Haroon: I was approached by Shoaib Sahab to do the role and well… how did I sign up for it? We didn’t! When Shoaib Mansoor comes to you, you don’t really have to sign up. You just say, YES!
Brandsynario: How did you find Mahira Khan as a co-star and Shoaib Mansoor as a director?
Haroon: Mahira Khan as my co-star is probably the reason why I will do good in this film and also because of Shoaib Sahab because obviously he has put in a lot of time and effort and he has been really patient with me. So yeah, it’s obviously a mix of both of these guys. I can’t thank them enough.
Brandsynario: Should we expect to see you in any upcoming projects?
Haroon: Right now, I am not doing anything. I don’t want to do anything right now. I just want to see how things go.
Brandsynario: What are your expectations from your first movie?
Haroon: My expectations are probably what your expectations are.
Everyone’s curious about how this movie will turn out. Will it live up to the expectations of the audiences? We don’t know but our hopes are quite high!
