Chinese ‘Harley-Davidson’ Lookalike Launched by ZXMCO in Pakistan!

As kids, we always wanted to grow up and own our own classic rides which we saw on TV. One day it’d be a Harley-Davidson, other days Triumph or the classic American Chopper!

Well for Pakistanis, buying yourself a Harley-Davidson lookalike just got easier! Motorbike manufacturer ZXMCO has launched the Monster ZX 250-D Cruise, a Chinese version of Harley.

 

Engine & Specifications

 

ZX 250-D Cruise is equipped with a 4-stroke 250cc engine along with double cylinder (V-Twin), air-cooled unit and is also equipped with electronic fuel injection. it has disc brakes at both the front and rear wheels. It weighs up to 165 kg.The fuel tank can carry up to 18 liters of fuel. According to ZXMCO officials, the bike can go up to 120 KM/h.

Price and Availability

The ZXMCO Monster has been priced at Rs. 425,000. Pre-booking is necessary for those who wish to own the bike. Initial deposit is Rs. 75,000 and delivery time is 60 days.

 

PSL 3’s Foreign Players to Receive Impressive Amount of Money per Match!

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the foreign players who will be a part of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 3 will be given USD $10,000 per match.

“$10,000 per match is not a bad option for foreign players because the PCB is planning to host at least 6 to 8 PSL matches in Pakistan for the 3rd Pakistan Super League. So if a player even plays only three matches in Pakistan, he will get straight $30,000,”  the Dawn quoted a source privy to the development as saying.

This might encourage the involvement of more foreign players as the country has done a decent amount of investment in terms of salary as well as security. This is a good sign that cricket is once again making its way back to the country and has a lot of potential in pulling in fans from all over the world to promote foreign tourism.

Karachi witnesses its fair share of crime, almost on a daily basis. From snatching to target killing, our beloved city goes through a lot every day.

Adding to the citizen’s misery, the latest cases of women getting stabbed on the streets of Gulistan-e-Jauhar have created a sudden wave of panic in the metropolis.

As many as nine females have become victims of stabbing attacks. According to Geo News, the latest attack happened in the wee hours of Saturday when a woman was stabbed at Mosamiat. She was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

The horrible episode has the city’s police on the edge. The mystery case remains unsolved and now Sultan Khawaja — the deputy inspector general (DIG) of Karachi’s District East has declared a whopping prize money for anyone who helps in unraveling the identity of the infamous attacker

A reward worth PKR 0.5 million will be awarded  to anyone who helps provide information, which could lead to suspect’s arrest

CCTV Footage Surfaces

A CCTV footage revealed little details regarding the appearance of the assailant.

“The suspect appears to be a thin man, aged 20-29,” DIG Khawaja said, adding that “he appears to be 5 feet, 7-9 inches tall” and usually rides a red motorcycle.

He is usually clad in a black shirt and is wearing black pants.

All of these ladies were attacked by the perpetrator with a  supposedly sharp object. The purpose of the assailant is still unknown since he did not rob any of these ladies.

Gauhar sent some reputed businessman to meet her at night. She thought that he must be there to discuss some projects with her but that wasn’t the case.

Even Gauhar wanted to exploit her!! Kanwal being young and impulsive goes with it.

Then she realized what’s going on and confronted Gauhar about it. He blamed her and called her names, questioning her morality since she is divorced and now has come to live in the city.

Gauhar’s character unveils the harsh reality of the society. Pakistani society loves questioning and blaming women for not being moralistic. A society where “Aurat” is said to be “Ghar ki Izzat”, the “Ghar” or the society itself exploits that respect or izzat.

 

She had to leave the place she was staying at as well and join a women’s hostel.

But was it a good decision?

The warden being inquisitive asked a lot of questions, which should’ve made Kanwal a little hesitant to live there but she didn’t.

Her wardrobe and sense of style were questioned but she remained aloof about it.

She tried adjusting to the hostel environment, making friends and telling them about her life.

The warden seems suspicious and doesn’t appear as someone you can trust.

Let’s hope she won’t land herself into any more trouble now.

HEC Has Banned This University From Taking New Admissions

In its latest movie, HEC has banned Preston University and its campuses, including Kohat Campus, Islamabad Campus, Peshawar Campus, Lahore Campus, Karachi Campus (CCMIT Malir), Karachi Campus (North Nazimabad) and Karachi Campus (Main) from taking new admissions.

Apparently, the varsity has  remained unsuccessful to meet the  quality criteria set by the Commission, reports Pakistan today

HEC has disapproved Preston University as various cases were reported of academic irregularities, mismanagement. Also, it did not abide by mandatory standards as set by the authority.

No new student will be allowed to be admitted in the university until Preston works on the failures in its management.

HEC has asked the Preston University to set up hostels and dorms at the main campus, appoint a registrar, controller examination, a treasurer on a permanent basis and improve its quality enhancement cell

Already, HEC has banned Preston’s Bachelor of Science (BS) and Masters of Sciences (MS) program. 

A list of recognized institutions, as well as accredited programmes, is present on the HEC website and it doesn’t include Preston University.

Panic Grips Gulistan e Johar: Women Under Attack!

Panic has gripped Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area after various cases were reported in the last 2 days, where women were attacked on the roads and stabbed from behind.

All of these ladies were attacked by the perpetrator with supposedly a sharp object.

The cases occurred late in the evening and the attacker was reported to be on a motorcycle wearing a helmet.

The purpose of the assailant is still unknown since he did not rob any of these ladies.
The victims were admitted to Dar-ul-Sehat hospital (Gulistan-e-Jauhar) in the last 2 days for stab wounds.

 

According to an exclusive video by SAMAA TV, the murderer attacked one of the victims from behind with a knife.

The brother of the victim also mentioned that his mother and sister were taking a walk on the road when this happened.

As soon as she was attacked and the victim’s brother saw his sister bleeding, she was immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Police, on the other hand, remained clueless regarding the attacks.

Asian Indoor Games 2017: 21 Medals for Pakistan

Following the phenomenal performance on the opening day of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Pakistan maintained its performance throughout the tournament.

Pakistani athletes bagged a total of 21 medals, which includes 2 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals, and 16 Bronze medals.

Turkmenistan significantly dominated the tournament with 245 medals out of which 89 of them were gold. China and Iran followed on 2nd and 3rd places with China winning 97 medals (42 gold) and Iran bagging 118 medals (36 gold) respectively.

Rafiq Siddiq and Shahzeb Nawaz Janjua won the hearts of a lot of Pakistani’s after giving a tremendous performance and bagging gold medals for Pakistan in ju-jitsu’s men duo.

Silver Medals

Pakistan also managed to acquire 3 silver medals in belt wrestling, men’s duo classic style ju-jitsu and mixed duo classic style ju-jitsu.

Ambreen Masih clinched a bronze medal in women freestyle wrestling, bagging a total of 3 bronze medals in total at the event.

Maaz Khan — Dhaka South Asian Games gold medalist — won a bronze in kickboxing at the event.

Muhammad Sajjad bagged a bronze in 6-Red men’s singles snooker competitions.

Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner Dies at 91

The legendary Hugh Hefner, founder of the leading international adult magazine Playboy has passed away at the age of 91.

The cause of his death is said to be natural as he passed away in his home peacefully said the Playboy Enterprises Inc.

People are pouring their respects on Twitter as they remember Hugh.

The Playboy legacy started from Hefner’s kitchen at home in 1953 and soon it became the largest-selling men’s magazine in the world, shifting seven million copies a month at its peak.

His son, Cooper Hefner said he would be “greatly missed by many”.

He paid tribute to his father’s “exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer,” and called him an advocate for free speech, civil rights, and sexual freedom.

Playboy also made Hugh a multi-millionaire, spawning a business empire that included casinos and nightclubs.

Saudi Arabia Lifts Ban on Women Driving: Twitter Rejoices!

In a historic move, Saudi Arabia stepped joined the rest of the world in the 21st century as they repealed the driving ban on women. The Saudi Kingdom announced this shocking turn of events on Tuesday.

“King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud has issued a decree authorising the issuance of drivers’ licences for women in the kingdom,” Saudi state TV said.

The movie has sent the whole world into a frenzy. And this step seems to be a part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious reform push aimed at adapting to a post-oil era and improving a global reputation battered by its human rights record.

The driving ban on women had long cast the shadow of an oppressive regime and while this announcement has riled the strict religious conservatives of the Gulf Kingdom, activists all around the world have praised this move as a step towards women empowerment.

Needless to say, people took to Twitter with some rather impressive and quirky tweets to rejoice this win for women.

Tell me where’s the lie?

The decree will take effect in June 2018. 

Till then, there are predatory measures being taken to accommodate the infrastructure for more drivers on the roads and to expand licensing facilities.

Imported Luxury Cars to Become Cheaper After Tax Removal!

If you are a car fanatic, you are in luck! Imported luxury cars might see a drop in price! The Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) Punjab is considering removal of Luxury tax on all imported vehicles in the province.

The Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) Punjab is considering removal of Luxury tax on all imported vehicles in the province.

Importing luxury cars in Punjab might be affordable enough to encourage importing more cars in the near future. Recently, it was noted that drivers preferred going to Islamabad to register their vehicles.

Government representatives stated;

Due to lesser registration rates and quarterly token tax payments, majority of the imported vehicle owners prefer ET&NCD Islamabad, instead of Punjab that takes yearly token tax payments.

New Tax Implementation

A new tax implementation was placed on 1300cc cars. According to the policy, buyers were liable to pay an amount of Rs. 70,000 for a vehicle over 1,300cc, Rs. 150,000 for a vehicle over 1,500 cc, Rs. 200,000 for 2,000 cc and above, and Rs. 300,000 for a vehicle with an engine capacity of over 2,500cc.

According to a source, after meetings held in May 2017, a fine was considered for car owners who had registered their vehicles in provinces other than Punjab. The MVO Act of 1965 states that a vehicle has to be reapplied to ET&NCD for registration if it stays in a province for more than 120 days.

Mobile Services & Pillion Riding to be Banned on 9th & 10th of Muharram

The Sindh government is most likely to shut down mobile services on 9th & 10th of Moharram, reports Geo News.

Home Minister Sindh Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal has requested the interior ministry to suspend mobile services in light of the security reasons in the city during 9th & 10th Moharram processions.

The services are most likely to stay suspended until the Ashura processions end.

Ban on Pillion Riding

What is more, Pillion riding has been banned since Saturday until 10th Moharram (Wednesday).

In other news, strict measures have been taken in Karachi and other cities to ensure security in Muharram processions both in Karachi and in other cities of Sindh province.

Security Beefed up in the nation!

In order to maintain peace and harmony and avoid problems, mishaps, and terrorist attacks during Muharram, Punjab Police has decided to deploy 124,537 personnel and special units of police.

124,537 police officers/officials would be deployed to provide security to 36,216 majlis (religious congregations) and 9,137 processions. Around 37,398 police volunteers, 5,580 members of special police units and 85,515 volunteers are deployed for the month of Muharram.

Processions and majalis have been categorized into A, B and C according to their sensitivity and security will then be provided accordingly. Every majlis or procession would be provided four-layered security.

The crackdown against the display of arms, vehicles with tinted glasses, green number plates has already been launched.

Meanwhile, Lahore Police has a comprehensive security plan for over 8,000 processions and majalis during Muharram.
