India Announces Medical Visas for Pakistanis on Independence Day

This Independence Day good news comes from across the border when India announced approval of medical visas for Pakistanis that had been under review for a long period at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

The news broke on Twitter after the Indian Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj shared it on her official Twitter handle. She asked the High Commission to grant the medical visa in all bonafide cases!

Here’s what Sushma Swaraj had to say:

With the ongoing tensions between the two countries, this comes as a breath of fresh air. The Commission has given out a visa to Faiza Tanveer who suffers from a recurrent ameloblastoma, an oral tumor. Her visa was previously rejected and she reached out to the Foreign Minister through Twitter asking for her to intervene in the matter.

Sushma Swaraj responded to Tanveer and granted her the visa in honor of Independence Day!

On June 13, a four-month-old infant, Rohaan, was also granted an Indian visa to undergo a heart surgery in India’s Noida after Sushma interfered in the matter.

Pakistan’s favourite drink, Pakola celebrated the 70th Independence Day for the nation in a unique way this time. Pakola is synonymous with Pakistan, the green coloured fizzy drink is loved by all and some may agree that it could be known as the national drink as well!

The colourful cans paying tribute to the father of the nation, ‘Quaid-E-Azam’ and Pakistani truck art have been appreciated by some while others have raised concerns resulting in a debate over social media.

The ongoing debate raises a concern on the packaging of the Pakola cans, what is going to happen to these cans after they serve their purpose? Are people going to throw them away?

The soda can with Quaid-e-Azam’s picture printed on it cannot be disposed off as it would be a sign of disrespect.

However, this is not the first time brands have celebrated national heroes in such a way, a recent campaign led by Coke had the late Edhi Sahab’s portrait printed on coca-cola bottles. Known as limited collection items, these bottles and cans are supposed to be kept as souvenirs later on.

This week, HBO Spain did a major blunder and you won’t believe that they could do such a big BOO BOO!

Apparently, they’ve broadcasted the forthcoming 6th episode of Season 7, 4 days prior to the original airing date.

Premium subscribers of HBO had access to the latest installment, titled Death Is The Enemy, for a full hour before the blunder was addressed and the episode was removed!

But not before it was ripped and shared online!

Talking about the episode which consists of Jon Snow’s dramatic confrontation with the Night King and his White Walkers, some fans on twitter admitted that it is one of the most dramatic installments of GOT till date.

Someone said ‘Just saw the Game of Thrones leak. I won’t say anything except someone on my timeline called that happening 2 weeks ago & he was laughed at!


Another said: ‘Yes my episode 6 is ruined, though I knew it, I read a leak at the start of the season, but watching the scene actually destroys it.’

Looks like someone will get into major trouble for this yet again!

International Cricket Returns to Pakistan in September!

After 8 years, Sri Lankan cricket board has finally allowed its cricket team to visit Pakistan! The attack in 2009 had struck the international cricket in Pakistan so that the country was labelled as ‘unsafe’ due to security issues.

The Sri Lankan team’s bus was attacked by gunmen in Lahore. Since that attack, Pakistan has endured gigantically as Zimbabwe has been the only international team to visit Pakistan.

Chief of Sri Lankan Cricket Thilanga Sumathipala, said that after a security appraisal, the group has been cleared to play 3 Twenty20 internationals.He additionally included that the Sri Lankan team will likewise play “at least one” of those matches in Lahore, where the assault happened which left eight individuals dead.

Pakistani Government Websites Hacked By Indian Hackers!

The IT industry is always vulnerable to professional website hackers. It becomes a serious issue when official web pages such as government entities fall prey to such an incident.

Dozens of Pakistani ministries including the Ministry of Information, Technology, and Telecommunication, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Works and others were hacked by a group of Indian hackers as reported by ProPakistani. You would think the security for such websites would be top notch but looks like the group got away with cyber theft.

The group hacked all these websites together, creating total chaos. The websites contain sensitive information which could cause havoc when gets into the wrong hands.

However, it is not sure if the back end data and email servers containing crucial information have been hacked or not. Some specialists have disclosed that the ministries that have been hacked use third-party cloud email solutions so it is unlikely that the email data has been compromised.

This may have happened after a group of Pakistani hackers were active in the morning and they successfully hacked some websites. Indian hackers retaliated by defacing dozens of Pakistani government websites.

This is a common practice, every independence day and hackers do this to celebrate the respective ‘Azaadi’ days by hacking cross-border websites. Pakistani hackers may now retaliate and things could get worse with thousands of websites ending up compromised.

Pakistani Man Reunited with Stolen Sony Ericsson Phone After 12 Years!

Have you ever been a victim to mobile snatching? This has been going on in the Metropolis since ages and thousands of mobile users have faced the agony of losing their prized possession at one time or the other.

A recent incident shared on Facebook by a citizen of the Metropolis has created an uproar on the internet that shocked everyone!

Tanzeel Ur Rehman was reunited with his long lost Sony Ericsson phone that was taken away from him through a mobile snatching incident. He received the age-old beloved mobile with the help of the Citizens- Police Liaison Committee.

The phone was snatched on gun point 12 years ago and he received the phone in mint condition, just the way it was before being taken from him. The phone in question was the Sony Ericsson K700i.

Tanzeel has a beautiful message in his post to everyone: 

“It is now a souvenir of hope to me, If it is mine it will come to me what ever it may take.”

Baaghi drama has become the rating magnet of this season! Of course, everybody wants to know more about Qandeel Baloch! But seems like it is Saba Qamar that has added the right punch to the story, making it all the more interesting for the viewers.

The story has now taken an interesting turn. Fauzia is in deep trouble. Her parents have fixed her marriage with the vile Sajid without her consent.

But our protagonist, being the rebel she is, has a plan to make sure this never happens!

It is apparent that she wants to marry a man who offers her freedom and lets her defy norms. We get to know that she wants to study, travel to the city and become an actress. Hence, she is on a search for her dream guy who doesn’t suffocate her into living a life she truly detests.

But will she find such a man in her village?

Seems like Abid is the guy who she is looking for! Past episodes made it clear that Abid has an eye for Fauzia. After knowing that she has been forcefully engaged with Sajid, he vows to love her and fulfill all her daring wishes. He then sends his mother to Fauzia’s home to give a marriage proposal, however, it backfires badly.

The episode ends showing that Fauzia’s marriage has been fixed and she will be tying the knot with Abid in a week.

 

The preview of the next episode shows that Fauzia has run away on her wedding day and Abid is now being hunted down by her brothers.

This episode had many emotional moments!

Our heart went out for Fauzia when her brother slapped her for complaining about her forced marriage.It is a tale of so many women in Pakistan, whose voices are suppressed by their male counterparts.

Ali Kazmi deserves an applaud for being such a charmer!

His acting is on point but we could not help hating him for deceiving Fauzia. We all know that he will break all his promises and will not be able to tolerate his wife’s bold antics.

1. Same Old Design, Same Old Taste

Old is gold, but not always, and in the case of the Mehran, it is definitely not. While the world has progressed to modern day advancements, the Mehran is still stuck in the past.

Cars nowadays come with a dynamic body, with sportier and attractive look making the Mehran less-attractive and a car someone is less-likely to choose. The Mehran looks like a box with a plain looking interior and very straight forward operating gears.

2. No Technological Advancement & Missing Features

It’s no dirty secret that Mehran has basic features which all cars did in the 80s, and the vehicle lacks many features, one major flaw being security. As we can see, there is no infotainment center, no airbags, no ABS, no power-steering or power-windows, and so much more that the Mehran is missing out on.

Given its structure, it will be very hard to introduce all these features and more in a variant due to lack of space, the design of the vehicle, and because the price of the model will shoot sky high causing its demand in the market to drastically change.

Although the latest Mehran variant comes with an immobilizer to reduce theft that’s about it. Mehran features an obsolete leaf sprung suspension system which has been long abandoned by manufacturers around the world.

3. It’s Time to Move on!

Sometimes, it’s best to move on, accept the new and learn from the past. Now that we think of Mehran and the new cars like Suzuki Vitara, City, Civic, and other cars, you can surely understand why you would want for the car to bid farewell.

However, there is no doubt that Mehran has had a legacy in the past and it is one of the most affordable cars, however, it is no longer something the new generation options for.

On the other hand, 8th gen Suzuki Alto has already hit the market it will be great to see it as a replacement to the current Mehran.

Edhi, Malala, & Bacha Khan Make it to Vienna Peace Museum’s List of ‘Peace Heroes’

The Vienna Peace Museum launched the ‘Peace Heroes’ in 2014 where they feature personalities from both historic and modern times.

This year’s list for the 2017 edition, the museum has announced Abdul Sattar Edhi, Malala Yousafzai, and Bacha Khan as part of the prominent peace heroes.

It is great to see the world appreciating the efforts Edhi put in towards humanity.

As the founder of the Edhi Foundation, Pakistan will remain forever to Edhi ‘Sahab’ for his endless services to the nation.

The Museum announced Abdul Sattar Edhi’s inclusion in the Peace Heroes list through the official Twitter and Facebook account.

India Issues Easy Business Visas For Pakistanis

The tensions between India and Pakistan are still ongoing across the borders. However, this has not caused any issue on the trade front.

As reported by Sputnik international, in order to boost the bilateral trade with Pakistan the Indian government has announced the issue of a multiple-entry visa to Pakistani businessmen. Only those with proven credentials will be issued with this visa.

India’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju informed the Parliament on Wednesday,

“Multiple entry business visas of up to three years can be issued to Pakistani nationals of assured financial standing and credentials with visits restricted to maximum 15 places in India excluding restricted and prohibited areas.”

Businessmen of the SAARC countries who are eligible for a multiple-entry business visa for a period of 3 years and more will be issued with a special ‘India Business Card’.

The Minister, Karen Rijiju further added,

“There is no objection to the criteria/guidelines for issuing the business visa and India Business Card to businessmen from Pakistan”

The ‘India Business Card’ has a special logo and is only given to businessmen of high repute.

Second Bank Robbery in Karachi Within Two Days!

Karachi falls prey to yet another bank robbery within a span of two days. Five robbers looted millions of rupees from a private bank in the Kharadar Cloth market. The gang of robbers fled with the money and weapons that belonged to the bank’s security guards.

It was reported that the burglars barged into the bank wearing helmets and masks so nobody would be able to identify them.

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister, Sindh has asked for an immediate report from the additional IG Karachi. He has also asked about the group involved in both the robberies.

Shah has also asked the Police to speak up about the unfortunate developments and questioned the intelligence network in the city.

Previously on Tuesday a private bank situated on Sh-E-Quaideen, Karachi was robbed. The burglars shot dead the branch manager, Abdul Rahim Motiwala, 40 after he tried to stop the robbers as they left the bank.

They managed to loot nearly Rs 0.65 million rupees in cash and fled using a getaway car.

Toyota Fortuner Price in Pakistan Increased!

Toyota has been up and about with various new launches! The Corolla 2017 became the talk of the town! The brand also has revealed the first look of Toyota Aqua 2018!

Now Toyota Fortuner is getting a price hike!

What is more, The 2nd generation Fortuner was launched quite recently in Pakistan by Toyota Indus. According to Pakwheels, the latest news is that Indus Motor Company (IMC) has raised that price of its SUV!

The old price was  PKR 5,249,000! Now they have raised the price with by a whopping PKR 150,000 with the new price tag of  PKR 5,399,000.

The price is exclusive of tax and other additional charges levied while buying the SUV.

Seems like price hikes have become quite a trend now. The value of cars and SUVs have sky rocketed in Pakistan cause strong monopoly of the few brands in the country.

The family vehicle has the following features:

  • Plush two tone leather upholstered interior,
  • Multi function steering wheel with paddle shifters,
  • Climate control
