Burger Lab Takes A Dig at Popular Fast Food Joints and Fails!

Pakistan’s advertising industry is undergoing changes as the use of social media increases with every passing day. In an era where the right media activation can make or break the brand, it is disappointing to see upcoming local companies making huge blunders!

A recent video posted by a local burger joint, Burger Lab has landed the brand in a pool of criticism after it purposely bashed renown fast-food joints, McDonalds and KFC during the promotional ad for their new product the ‘Whacky’.

Those who are loyal KFC and Mc Donald fans are appalled at what Burger Lab has tried to show through their unethical video.

As the person eats the burger, he gets shocked after taking a bite and all of a sudden, two figureheads representing the popular KFC Colonel and the famous clown, Ronald McDonald pop up creating an illusion that this was the best thing he had ever eaten!

Here’s the Video Posted by Burger Lab!

Not only did people criticize the brand but it is now being associated to a sleazy marketing stunt that failed miserably!

Being poorly shot, the video just makes you wonder who approved such a video to be aired on the company’s official social media accounts.

After being shared in a group of marketing enthusiasts here’s the response the video received:

Is it too hard to ask for an ethical advertisement?

They believe this is the end of Pakistan’s Advertising industry

We have to admit, Shahroz Anjum does have a point. This expression does not remind us of someone enjoying their burger!

Babar Azam Reacts to Being Called the Virat Kohli of Pakistan

Babar Azam has made Pakistan proud with his spectacular performance in ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Over time, his skills have evolved a lot and we can surely say that he is amongst the best rising star in Pakistan’s cricket team.

Just recently, during an exchange on Twitter, one die-hard fan of Azam compared him to Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

But Babar Azam had some other title in mind for himself

Well, he is right! Just see the records Babar has been making since its debut in 2015.

  • the joint-fastest player in history to score 1,000 career runs in one-day internationals, equalling the record with the West Indies great Viv Richards, England’s Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott as well as South Africa’s Quinton de Kock.
  •  scored 1,455 runs in 31 ODI innings at an average of 53.88
  •  the highest-ranked ODI batsman from Pakistan at number five.

The champ has proved that he is someone who had the ability to uphold the team’s shaky middle-order.

What are your takes on the Pakistani star?

Djuice & PTCL Face-Off in an Aggressive Brand War!

Pakistani brands have now started to respond well to call-outs on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. A witty reply or two on an ongoing issue can create a stir amongst digital enthusiasts causing the brand to be positively recognized.

A recent Twitter exchange between telecom service providers, PTCL and Naya Tel has resulted in a brand war where another huge brand has joined in the witty exchange!

Djuice mentioned PTCL in their Tweet after the later announced that a cable repair was going on.

“#PTCL can use #djuice internet to live stream their cable repair. Dial *345*75# to get 1500 MBs with djuice weekly all in one offer.”

PTCL obviously replied to them!

We have to say, the exchange was quite entertaining.

PTCL then blamed Djuice for having a ‘bad mood problem’.

The competing brand was not ready to let go so easily and blamed PTCL for having ‘Unlimited’ excuses

We do have to admit that PTCL’s hashtag game was on point!

However, Djuice just could not let the fight end without a winner!

Ultimately, PTCL had the last say!

Former Pakistani Cricketer Asks PCB to Boycott India

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2014.

The MoU states that both the rivals will take on one another in six bilateral series between 2015-2023.

Former Pakistani cricketer, the legendary Javed Miandad asked PCB to boycott playing against arch-rival India in ICC sanctioned events. Miandad, while talking about Pakistan’s interests, added that Indians have always taken advantage Pakistan’s fluid stance.

“We should also boycott playing against them in all ICC events” -Javed Miandad

He further said that going to play in 2012 was one of the biggest mistakes. Miandad said it’s time Pakistan take a strong stance on cricketing ties with India.

“It is time we responded with bricks to stones. There is no need for us to play with India at any forum if they are not willing to restore bilateral ties.”

On the other hand, Chairman PCB, Shahryar Khan said that the biggest failure of his three-year tenure at the post was the inability to restore bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

“The biggest failure for me is to not restore the bilateral series between Pakistan and India. In my last tenure [2004-2006], I had succeeded in restoring it and we played thrice with our neighbours,” -Shaharyar

But India and Pakistan continued to play in ICC events, with the most recent coming at the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup.

What are your thoughts about the arch-rivals? Are you in favour of the boycott?

PTCL Wins the Internet With Epic Comeback to Nayatel!

This is the era of social media where it holds the power to make or break a brand. It is only apparent that Pakistani brands respond well to call-outs on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. A witty reply or two on an ongoing issue can create a stir amongst digital enthusiasts causing the brand to be positively recognized.

The recent political controversy surrounding PTI Chairman Imran Khan and MNA, Ayesha Gulalai has engulfed the nation. Humor based trolls and memes have been circulating on social media.

This Twitterati took to the social media platform to troll telecom service provider, PTCL, he mentioned,

“That moment you realize Ayesha Gulali was just using PTCL Internet which is why she noticed the messages after 4years though”

PTCL seized this opportunity and replied with a witty response!

Twitterattis had a field day, while some applauded PTCL’s prompt comeback, there were others who kept on trolling the telecom provider for its services.

This lady then went on to reply to PTCL, here’s what she said:

“Quick reply by PTCL. Must be using Nayatel”

Newbie NayaTel, a telecom company decided to join the Twitter banter going on between PTCL and Twitteratis.

What followed later was an epic banter between the two competing brands!

The Islamabad based company decided to hit-back with some Punjabi ‘swag’

However, it looks like PTCL had the last laugh with this EPIC reply!

These consequences have given a rise to the number of NGOs developing in Pakistan and Zindagi Trust is one of them.

Also, present on the occasion, Raza Pirbhai, CEO KFC Pakistan:

‘It is a great moment for me that we have achieved our goal, took it forward and contributed to Zindagi Trust’

Game of Thrones Leaked Online After Hackers Invade HBO

In a shocking turn of events, HBO got hit by a major cyber attack! Now a lot of its content has been stolen by the hackers and it seems that their main target was ‘Game of Thrones’.

Almost 1.5 terabytes of data stolen from HBO!

According to Entertainment Weekly Reports, an upcoming Game of Thrones script and two unreleased episodes ‘Ballers’ and ‘Room 104’ have been leaked online.

The hackers trolled HBO by sending an e-mail to several reports with the message:

Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. . . HBO is falling.

The Hackers have threatened to release information “soon.”

So far, no link of the leaked episodes has surfaced online. Games of Thrones has become highest rated program across all platforms. 12.7 million tuned into HBO itself for the seventh-season premiere, which itself is a huge number.

In 2015, almost half of Game of Thrones’ season 5 leaked online ahead of its television broadcast. It is possible that this season’s episode may pave the way to the internet soon, now that HBO has been hacked!

HBO is the latest Hollywood victim of a cyber hack. Back in April, hackers went to Netflix and threatened to release the premiere of “Orange is the New Black” Season 5 early.

In the meantime, if you do not want any spoilers, avoid any Game of Thrones forums where leaked scripts might be under discussion!
