Naaz Gul Baloch, the pride of Pakistan, received no attention by the Pakistani media on her achievement.

However, our very owb rockstar Ali Zafar was one of the first who cameacross this talened girl and appriciated her on their social media platforms.

There are many people who dream to do something for ‘Pak-Watan’ and some have actually succeeded.

One of them is Naaz Gul Baloch. Out of a few female Karatekas, this girl represented Pakistan at a global stage in International Karate Championship and won a gold medal for our country.

Social Media Praises Balouch

Quetta’s Roots and History of Sports

People of Quetta, who consider Bruce Lee as their inspiration behind making martial arts a mainstream in their area, train in different academies in their pristine karategi.

The people from Balochistan have the will to compete in every field of life, but they are not given any sort of platforms through which they can polish their hidden talents.

There are still dozens of Baloch like Naz Gul who wish to fly high and fulfill their dreams, but due to lack of proper facilities and platforms, their dreams just remain dreams.

Despite of all the hurdles, she believed in the saying “where there’s a will, there’s a way”. Gul did not allow her circumstances to become an obstacle in the path of her goals and became World Female Karate Champion.

Chain Aye Na Trailer: Sarish Khan Hits Back at Trolls

This year has seen some great additions to the Lollywood industry. With releases such as Chalay Thay Saath, Balu Mahi and the most recent being Mehrunnissa V Lub You and Yalghaar.

Next on the cinemascope is upcoming film, Chain Aye Na directed by the senior filmmaker, Syed Noor. The trailer release caused quite a buzz and viewers bashed it and it certainly became the joke of the town. The film makes the debut of Sarish Khan and Shehroz Subzwari.

In a recent interview to Instep, the former Miss Pakistan-USA, Sarish Khan voiced her opinions on the criticism her debut film has received.

“I’ve been well prepared for criticism because I am following the footsteps of my grandparents, Sabiha Khanum and Santosh Kumar, who have been part of the industry.”

The newbie actress feels one needs to be open for opinions and criticism once a person enters the public eye. However, she believes the public and journalists need to maintain a clear line between bashing and constructive criticism.

She doesn’t seem to be worried about the negative reviews the film has received before releasing.

“Once you’re in the public eye you have to be open for these opinions however, most articles about the trailer are statement oriented “

A still from Chain Aye Na’s Trailer ft. Sarish and Adil Murad.

The actress will be promoting her debut movie in the United States and is grateful to the Pakistani-American community for their support. However, she seems careful to voice out her reviews on the reactions the trailer has received.

“i Have e been asked to respond to the articles on numerous shows but I can’t respond to something that’s not asking a question and I can’t condemn opinions.”

All smiles because we’re in Lahooooreee! #cheinayena #lastspell #lahori #lovemycity

Armeena Rana Khan is Receiving Death Threats.

Armeena Rana Khan has been in the news for her heart-to-heart with the social media world where she highlighted the issue of ‘cyber bullying’. It now seems like the issue has escalated to the point that she’s receiving death threats over the internet.

It began when she put together a collage of insults and abuses received on posts uploaded by female celebrities and asked an important question,

“Why is it that Pakistani female actresses are subjected to this poison?”

She also spoke about the vicious cycle of women targeting women,

“Why is it that Pakistani females wish to attack Pakistani actresses in such a vicious manner?”

Have a Look at What the Yalghaar Actress Had to Say:

Hi guys and girls. I have a few q’s for you all. I am trying to understand the mentality of the Pakistani public. Above is the collage of the comments that I have received over the last few days. I want to ask, (1) Why is it that the Pakistani female actresses are subjected to this poison? Secondly, I also note that a lot of these are by females. Why is that? Why is it that Pakistani females wish to attack Pakistani actresses in such a vicious manner. What have we done to you except entertain and create an industry that will benefit the economy, culture and arts of Pakistan. How is that a crime? If you can do better please show us your work that will blow our efforts out of the water. Thirdly, please help me understand how can this internet “terrorism” be tackled? Guess what, I too have BAD days. I am a person with real feelings. I work hard. There is a big part of my life that involves running a business, being a daughter, a sister, an aunt as well as helping those who are less fortunate. Can you imagine, when you are having a particularly down day and you get to read this. I understand that I signed up for criticism when I became an actress but nowhere did I sign up for abuse. You are welcome to critique our work in a polite manner but I won’t allow you to question my religion, my morals OR my freedom to choose Now, On behalf of all my fellow actresses, though we don’t expect praises 100% of the time and welcome CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, we don’t deserve such disrespect or bullying. I’ve seen the same girls and boys go to other international celebs and kiss their backsides as if they are from another planet. Why the hypocrisy? Finally, I am not focussing only on the negative. I am fighting for what’s right. I urge you to think before you hit that “send” button. Thanks for your time. Armeena Khan

A post shared by Armeena Khan (@armeenakhanofficial) on

Truer words have never been spoken. This verbal abuse in the form of cyberbullying has become quite a norm. People often lash out at female actresses, commenting on their outfits and looks. What is more, we have often come across bullies making personal vicious attacks on their character.

The torture does not end here, the diva is now reported to have received death threats after sharing her views on social media.

It is just a sad state of affairs and makes one wonder, don’t women have the rights to speak up for other women?

Titli Drama on Urdu1 Last Episode Review: Naila Got What She Deserved!

Urdu1’s Titli featuring Hania Amir and Ali Abbas finally came to an end! However, we did not expect such a painful conclusion to the eye-opening story. Seems like good always triumphs over evil, and this is exactly what happened in Samina Iijaz magnum opus.

An ending we did not see coming!

Earlier episodes showed us how the selfish and vile Naila, played by Hania Amir, divorced her dutiful husband Ahmed, played by Ali Abbas. She did not even care about her two daughters and left the world full of love just to marry a good-looking guy, Rehan played by Emaad Irfani.

So apparently, tying the knot with Rehan turned out to be all that Naila did not expect to be. He was charming and appealing but had the nature of devil. Her new husband was unlike Ahmed who remained faithful to Naila and gave her all riches she asked for despite her immoral and wicked nature.

Well, it’s true that what goes around comes back around. The same happened to Naila, who probably thought that Karma will never hit her.

The last episode showed how she ran from Rehan’s home and took abode at a friend’s place. With deep regret in her heart, she accepted her fate’s punishment but decided that she will return to Rehan. Little did she know, that she will get divorced again and her not-so-sweet hubby will be kicking her out of the house.

But the worst was just about to begin! Naila had an accident after leaving Rehan’s home and suffered a horrible brain injury. So much so, she lost her sanity and was admitted to the home of mentally-ill.

The most heart-wrenching part of the last episode was Naila’s horrible condition in the end. She sat with her hair disheveled, filthy clothes and unsoundness of mind. Gone were the days when she looked pretty as a picture; her luscious locks, striking features and luxurious attire were all a tale of the past.

But the shocking part was Ahmed’s visit to Naila and the pain-stricken look when he saw her. He cried and complained about the life they once shared, how she had destroyed all that they had. But Naila lost in her own world did not even know what Ahmed was saying.

Titli ended giving important life lessons

Truely, Titli hit the right chords with its deep and engaging plot. It gave insight into the thin line between outward vs inner beauty. Appearances are often misleading and Titli’s tale highlighted how a beautiful looking girl can be completely ‘unpleasant’ on the inside while an average looking man can possess a ‘heart of gold’.

Through Naila’s fate in the drama, the makers delivered a very important lesson for all the girl’s of today’s generation. It justified how the practical world holds so much more than the ‘fairy tale’ endings they have spun in their heads since childhood. How inner beauty is way more valuable than outer beauty, and how greed and materialism will always bring misfortune and misery for all.

Kudos to the director Ahmad Bhatti for directing such a thought-provoking drama and bringing it to our T.V screens! Hania Amir has proven that she can nail any avatar. We have to admit we have hated the bubbly haseena throughout the drama, just cause she played the role of the evil Naila just perfect.

Ali Abbas has shown that though he is new to the game, he is not less than the rest and soon will rise to conquer the television. He totally aced his character and donned the saint-like persona like a pro.

What do you think about Titli’s ending? Let us know in the comments below.

7 New Eateries in Karachi You Need to Try Out

There is always a new restaurant or cafe opening up in Karachi. We are no stranger to cuisines from various different countries and have tried and tested them all. You can find good authentic food such as Thai, Lebanese, Japanese etc at these places. While we are sure you must have visited them, a number of new restaurants have opened up recently that we think you should really try out.

1. Bloomsbury

This restaurant opened up a couple of months ago and by the reviews it has received is already a favorite. It is open all day long from 8 am to 1 am, so you can stop by for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cozy little place offers you food like Blue Cheese Burger, Jalapeno Chicken and Wasabi Open Faced Sandwiches. Do visit if you want a break from the usual stuff.

2. Bonsai Pan Asian

Bonsai Pan Asian is fairly new. It opened its doors to the public in the third week of Ramazan. The menu is very extensive and everything on it looks very appetising. If the pictures they shared on their social media are anything to go by, they just might become our new favourite place. If you are planning to visit, we suggest you make a reservation.

3. Karachi Social

For cravings that leave you confused, head over to Karachi Social. You can find a wide variety of steaks, burgers, pizzas and pasta so it’s perfect for a large group of friends.

4. Dialogue

Another great option for a large gathering, Dialogue will take care of all the different food choices. Steaks, burgers, pasta are again in a variety so you can choose what appeals to you the most. The desserts too look very tempting.

5. For the love of Coffee (FLOC)

There was a serious dearth of good coffee places in Karachi. For the love of Coffee is here to fill the void. An interesting thing on the menu is Floc Nitro cold coffee. Personally, we don’t enjoy our coffee cold, but this thing we just might try. This seems like a good place to hang out with friends.

6. Market – Modern Asian Kitchen

The name might be a bit odd, but if the reviews are to be trusted, this restaurant has become a hit. You can find various Asian cuisines here mainly Korean and Japanese.

7. Miyako

By the looks of things, it seems Karachi loves Pan Asian. Miyako is a newly opened restaurant offering a fix for your sushi and Pan Asian food cravings.

Which of these restaurants have you visited already? Let us know in the comments below.

Instagram to Block Trolls & Abusive Comments!

Seems like Instagram will be no place for haters now! The app is now rolling out a fabulous feature using AI to wipe out all trolls and their nasty comments.

Instagram Bids Farwell to Trolls!

The photo-sharing application would remove comments that contained words and phrases it had specifically identified as offensive.

What is more, Instagram is switching the offensive comment filter on by default.

Users who post sexist and racist comments will now be automatically blocked and their vile comments will be deleted before they are seen by other users.

Instagram has been a platform where aggressive trolls find abode. Hence, the app has now taken strict measures to control users who target celebrities and vulnerable individuals with hateful comments.

“We believe that using machine learning to build tools to safeguard self-expression is an important step in fostering more inclusive, kinder communities,” said Kevin Systrom CEO & Co-founder, Instagram

Spam Comments to be Blocked

Instagram has also rolled out an AI spam-filtering system. The spam filter was secretly in order since last October, but it’s only being revealed this month.

The app is now using machine learning to recognize offensive or spam comments.

Bollywood Rips Off Iconic Pakistani Song, ‘Hawa Hawa’!

More than often we see various copies being made in the Bollywood industry, be it story lines, songs or posters. Some of their hit songs are ‘highly inspired’ from Pakistani iconic vocals from the 80’s and 90’s.

An upcoming Bollywood movie featuring Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz & Athiya Shetty has remixed the super-hit Pakistani iconic song, ‘Hawa Hawa’ by legendary singer Hassan Jehangir. Sadly, the song has been ripped apart and shredded into pieces.

The evergreen music and beautiful lyrics are lost under B-town singers’ Mika Singh and Prakriti Kakar’s raunchy,

“Boyfriend bana ley, Kisi aor ko Pata ley”

Lovers of the iconic number by Hassan Jehangir are definitely going to be scarred for life after listening to the song from Mubarakan!

Somethings are better left the way they are and ‘Hawa Hawa’ should not have been remixed to this raunchy dance number. Apart from the original tune and lyrics, ‘hawa hawa’ everything’s different.

Here’s the original Hawa Hawa by Hassan Jehangir

What did you think of the remix version of the old Pakistani classic? Would you give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down? Let us know in the comments below.
