Football Sensation Nicolas Anelka is Coming to Pakistan!

After the breaking news of sports superstar Ronaldinho Gaúcho coming to Pakistan to join Leisure Leagues, another star is coming to stir up the competition, and he is none another than Nicolas Anelka!

The former Real Madrid striker is now a football manager after his retirement. He will be joining the World 7 against Pakistan 7 in a football match to be played in July to promote Leisure Leagues.

After Gaúcho, other names which have been roped in asides Anelka include George Boateng from Netherlands and David James from England. Other names are yet to be revealed.

Leisure League Pakistan is creating new avenues for football in Pakistan. Bringing international players to Pakistan is a huge feat and hosting the likes of Ronaldhino and Nicolas Anelka is a great honour for us. – Leisure League COO Ishaq Shah

Giving a personal statement, Anelka expressed how eager he was to arrive in Pakistan and play football to promote the sport. He said;

The aim of my participation is to help boost football in Pakistan and having embraced Islam as my religion, I have a special connection with Pakistan. – Nicolas Anelka

Pakistan’s budget-friendly airline, Airblue has rolled out it’s latest print ad that has raised quite a few eyebrows on social media. While some think the promotional post is timed perfectly, others feel the airline is not in such a position to target PIA.

The print ad by Air Blue states,

Following the recent incident that happened on 26th April aboard a PIA flight from Islamabad to London. The pilot was allegedly found to have fallen asleep during duty hours leaving the trainee pilot in charge of the passenger jet. Captain Amir Akhtar Hashmi was suspended after a passenger posted the picture on social media.

7 Restaurants Fined in Islamabad! [View List]

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad is once again back in action! In order to check on the hygiene conditions of various restaurants and cafe’s, a surprise inspection was carried out by the Assistant Commissioner Shalimar Lt (R) Saad on directions of the Deputy Commissioner.

The crackdown was held yesterday in 7 bakeries, cafes and fast-food outlets. It is good to know that measures are taken to protect the health and welfare of the citizens in the city who are vulnerable to these food outlets.

The list of Outlets and the Fine imposed for Sub-standard hygiene conditions are:

  1. Bake Well Bakers F-11 fined Rs. 20,000
  2. Pizza Hut F-11 fined Rs. 30,000
  3. Fast Food F-11 fined Rs. 4,000
  4. Nutella F-11 fined Rs. 15,000
  5. MJS Bakers F-11 fined Rs. 25,000
  6. Italian Oven F-10 fined Rs. 30,000
  7. Bake Well Bakers F-10 Rs. 50,000

Release Date

The social media titan is reportedly preparing to release a line-up of television-style shows on the site in June. Although no show names or stars have been mentioned, the list of shows will number around two dozen, according to a report from Business Insider on Friday.

The report reads that the company will focus on releasing two kinds of shows: longer, more traditional TV-style scripted shows with bigger budgets, and shorter shows that will be updated daily. Looks like the big dog now wants to change the game with content streaming while players like Netflix,  Amazon and Hulu and now Iflix are already a part of the race.

Another Chinese Manufacturer to Launch Electric-Hybrid Cars in Pakistan?

With the vast expansion of Pakistan’s automotive industry, yet another manufacturer eyes to make an entrance in the country.

The Chinese manufacturers are planning to launch Electric-Hybrid vehicles as there seems to have been a sudden boost in demand.

Cost

According to PakWheels, reports indicate that the car that is being considered for launch in Pakistan will cost around $9,000 (exclusive of taxes). It will have a mileage range of 120 Kilometres with a maximum possible speed of 60 km/h.The car is expected to be launched with modern features like power windows, rear camera, and internet connectivity display.

Features

The Electric-Hybrid is bing expected to be launched with modern-day features to provide an easy-going experience for its drivers. These features include power windows, rear camera, and internet connectivity display. However, the manufacturing of the vehicle will not be within Pakistan because they are convinced that a production of 1000 units per month will be enough to cater to the initial demand in the country.

Mileage

The source continues to add that the cost of mileage for these electric-hybrid vehicles will be Rs. 7 per kilometer. Earlier, Super-Power had also launched an electric car will 2 doors and 4 doors variants priced at Rs. 450,000 and Rs. 650,000 respectively.

We have yet to see if the concept will be widely accepted by drivers nationwide or will it have unfortunate fate on the market, only time will tell at this point. More details about the manufacturer and their vehicle are yet to be revealed.

Google Docs Scam: Are You the Next Victim?

There seems to be an increase in the number of internet scams being reported globally. This time, those nasty hackers are trying to get through to you by using the famous application, Google Docs.

For those who are a bit unfamiliar with Google Docs, the company provides basic office tools like Excel Spreadsheet, MS Word, and other applications for everyday use. Not only are these tools used by business officials, students also use it throughout their school year.

Alphabet Inc, the company behind Google and Google Docs have issued a warning to their users about this new scam. The company mentions that all users need to avoid opening ‘.Doc’  formatted documents or other documents from unknown contacts and E-mail IDs.

Those users who have opened those emails have had their social media accounts hacked! On Wednesday, May 3rd, Google has announced that the company have taken necessary steps to protect users from the attacks by disabling offending accounts and removing malicious pages.

“This is the future of phishing, it gets attackers to their goal … without having to go through the pain of putting malware on a device.”  -Aaron Higbee, Chief Technology Officer at PhishMe Inc. 

“This is a very serious situation for anybody who is infected because the victims have their accounts controlled by a malicious party,” – Justin Cappos, a Cyber Security Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Facebook is full of little surprises! It is full of tricks you can use to enjoy your time and make your profile the new talk of the town!

If you want to make the best of your time online, here are 5 Facebook tricks and tips you need to know about!

1. GIF for Profile Picture

Yes! You can use a GIF as your profile picture! When you access your profile through your handset, you can see a small icon on your display picture which is flickering and shows a camera and video. This is because facebook is allowing you to upload a profile video.

If you prefer a GIF instead, you can simply make a Boomerang using the application and upload it as your new DP! You can even set the duration you want to keep the video as your profile display before switching back to the previous one.

2. Unfollow your Annoying Friends

Facebook is the go-to place for everyone in crisis! If someone has a breakup… they announce it to the world on Facebook, someone passes away, they ask everyone to pray for the departed on Facebook. From wedding insights to honeymoon details, everyone shares everything on Facebook.

However, at times it gets a bit too annoying, for those who think the same, there is a simple to avoid this torture!

3. Hide your Friendlist

Don;t want them “tharki” bugging your friends? No problem! Hide your friend-list by changing its privacy status. To do so simply open your FB profile, click on ‘Friends’, on the right you will see a pencil icon, select it, click on edit privacy, and choose accordingly.

4. Turn off Annoying Notifications

You want to go to an awesome event or reply to this really cool comment with your best comeback, but then you get a pile of notifications one after the other. They really make you want to pull your hair out! But, there’s an easier way to deal with this problem.

The Facebook trick you can use for this is very simple. Simply open your notifications, go to the particular one you wish to turn off, you will see three dots at the right side of the notification, click on it and select the option to “turn off notifications for this post” goodbye annoying people and hello peace of mind!

5. Restrict Individuals from Posts

You can restrict many people added to your profile. When you restrict a person, they can only see public posts which have been set on the privacy. To do so, open their profile, click on ‘Friends’, select ‘Add to another list’ and scroll down and select ‘Restricted’
