Google Denies Employment of 16 Year Old Indian Boy!

Google is famous for promoting young talent at all stages. Recently, a news has been making waves on the internet that the tech-giant has hired a 16-year-old Indian boy as a Graphic Designer for a whopping salary of INR. 144 million (PKR. 23.7 million).

However, Google has clarified that the news is Fake!

Shockingly, Harshit Sharma who is a 12th-grade student at a government school, himself released a statement announcing his recruitment at Google.

“Who knew that an average student like me will get a job in Google? I can’t share my happiness about how I am feeling, it’s like a dream has come true. My hard work has paid off well”.

Now, Google has released a statement to shut down all rumors regarding Sharma:

“Currently, we don’t have any information on our records with respect to Harshit Sharma’s candidacy.”

Reports were claiming that Harshit will be giving training for one year in which he will get INR 400,000 (PKR. 658,000) per month.

Once his training was supposed to be completed, the company would have granted him INR 1,200,000 (PKR. 1,970,000) for his services every month.

“During my school time, I used to make posters of both Bollywood and Hollywood stars and earned Rs 40,000-50,000” – Harshit

Now, that Google has clarified that there is no record of his employment, Harshit’s dream of working at the Silicon Valley giant seems too good to be true!

KFC & Zindagi Trust Unite to Promote Education in Pakistan!

The education sector of Pakistan has forever faced obstacles in its development. This is one of the major reasons for the low literacy rate prevailing in the nation. Consequently, it has led to high rates of poverty and lower standards of living.

KFC & Zindagi Trust Prove Charity Begins at Home!

These consequences have given a rise to the number of NGOs developing in Pakistan and Zindagi Trust is one of them.

For those who are not aware, Zindagi Trust is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide education to underprivileged students who cannot afford this basic necessity. It also encourages activities like art, sports, health and training workshops. An act of kindness never fails to prosper and similarly Zindagi Trust is also achieving greatness in this regard!

As a part of the CSR project, KFC Pakistan introduced the ‘Mitao Bhook’ campaign in which they partnered with Zindagi Trust to promote education in the country.

In this initiative, KFC’s super famous ‘Chicken Bucket’ was also redesigned with a picture of the students from SMB Fatima Jinnah School in Karachi.

Earlier, KFC Pakistan promised to donate RS.50 to Zindagi Trust on every bucket sold. It was a huge success and is an example for all other organizations that humanity is always a priority. The amount collected was finally given to Zindagi Trust on the 28th of July, Friday in a ceremony at Khatoon-e-Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehzad Roy, owner of Zindagi Trust said:

‘Khatoon-e-Pakistan has evolved so much that people dont believe it is a Government School. This is the aim of Zindagi Trust to make government schools fit for education. And it was great that a multinational like KFC supported Zindagi trust in this initiative’

Also, present on the occasion, Raza Pirbhai, CEO KFC Pakistan:

‘It is a great moment for me that we have achieved our goal, took it forward and contributed to Zindagi Trust’

The students of Khatoon-e-Pakistan added zeal to the ceremony, by performing National Anthem on flute:

It has promoted positivity and a more concerned environment within the society. Surely, KFC believes in community building as a brand.

Game of Thrones Leaked Online After Hackers Invade HBO

In a shocking turn of events, HBO got hit by a major cyber attack! Now a lot of its content has been stolen by the hackers and it seems that their main target was ‘Game of Thrones’.

Almost 1.5 terabytes of data stolen from HBO!

According to Entertainment Weekly Reports, an upcoming Game of Thrones script and two unreleased episodes ‘Ballers’ and ‘Room 104’ have been leaked online.

The hackers trolled HBO by sending an e-mail to several reports with the message:

Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. . . HBO is falling.

The Hackers have threatened to release information “soon.”

So far, no link of the leaked episodes has surfaced online. Games of Thrones has become highest rated program across all platforms. 12.7 million tuned into HBO itself for the seventh-season premiere, which itself is a huge number.

In 2015, almost half of Game of Thrones’ season 5 leaked online ahead of its television broadcast. It is possible that this season’s episode may pave the way to the internet soon, now that HBO has been hacked!

HBO is the latest Hollywood victim of a cyber hack. Back in April, hackers went to Netflix and threatened to release the premiere of “Orange is the New Black” Season 5 early.

In the meantime, if you do not want any spoilers, avoid any Game of Thrones forums where leaked scripts might be under discussion!

Adobe Finally Kills Flash Player!

After MS Paint and Google Search, another shock comes with Adobe’s announcement of the iconic Flash Player being killed off in 2020. Since a year, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple’s Safari and Mozilla Firefox have been blocking Flash.

The pioneering software paved the way for YouTube and countless games and videos. It was always present in our browser whenever we needed to stream videos, music and watch YouTube videos. It is the end of an era after a glorious two decade run!

The technology giant, Adobe calculated statistics which shows only a mere 17% of Chrome users are now using Flash while it was 80% users in the year 2014. The drastic drop is a result of various alternatives available now.

The statement released by an Adobe Spokesperson regarding the end of Flash Player:

“We will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats.”

Apple was one of the first companies to block Flash when Steve Jobs announced the end of support of Flash on iOS back in 2007 due to its unsuitability for mobile devices.

Huawei Pakistan Collaborates to Build a Sustainable Better Connected World

“Hands-on experience in the actual work environment has made me see things through a different lens. I now understand classroom lectures from a new perspective and it is so much easier to visualize how text book concepts and theories are applied in the real world, said one of UET University students, which was one of 11 Pakistani students who traveled to Huawei China for an immersive experience at the tech giant’s headquarters in Shenzhen last year as part of the company’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ program.

Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider believes that economic prosperity and social welfare go hand-in-hand. In addition to providing the latest ICT solutions that enable private and government organizations in Pakistan to keep up with the digital age, Huawei also invests in several initiatives for the betterment of society.

One such initiative is ‘Huawei Pakistan Seeds for the Future Program’, a part of Huawei’s global CSR program that aims to cultivate local ICT talent, promote knowledge transfer, increase people’s interest in the ICT industry, and encourage participation in the building of digital communities.

The annual program which began in Pakistan in August 2015 sends 10-15 students (nominated by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission) from all across the country to experience life in the heart of China’s Silicon Valley. This year Huawei collaborated with HEC to launch this program and sent 15 students to China in May.

“With the rapid pace of ICT development, academia is racing to keep up. Our student programs aim to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace and increase employability of students”, said Saif Chi , CEO of Huawei Pakistan. “We are proud to conduct several initiatives that aim to promote local ICT talent and assist the development of IT and telecommunications in Pakistan”.

In another nation-wide student initiative, Pakistan will see the second edition of Huawei’s annual ICT Skill Competition kick off in August 2017. More than 2,300 students from 30 universities participated in the inaugural version last year with the top 6 winners representing Pakistan in the final competition in Shenzhen, China. Pakistan’s top educationalist appreciated Huawei Pakistan’s ICT Skill Competition saying this would give an opportunity to Pakistani students to prove their skills and a chance to represent Pakistan on a global stage.

ICT Ecosystem and the Economy

Development of the ICT ecosystem is essential to coping with today’s digital transformation that is affecting not just the way we live but the way we work as well. By nurturing local talent, enhancing local skills and promoting a culture of innovation and creativity, Huawei helps to ready the next generation to lead the ICT sector into the future and contribute to economic development.

Huawei’s state-of-the-art GSM laboratories and training centers at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and University of Engineering and Technology (UET), provide students with hands-on experience in operating high-tech telecom infrastructure and also serve as a platform for research and development (R&D) of Value Added Services. Huawei’s partnership with UET Lahore dates back to 2002 when Huawei donated telecom equipment for a joint R&D and training center that was expanded in 2007 and again received equipment donations from Huawei in 2011 to be finally awarded HALP and HANA certification. Staffed by HCIE certified instructors, the center has trained approximately 5,000 local engineers and students till date.

Other student initiatives include Huawei’s internship programs for fresh graduates with an opportunity for full-time employment and Chinese language Summer Camps.

Energy and the Environment

At the World Economic Forum in January this year, Huawei signed ‘The Compact for Responsive and Responsible Leadership’ as part of its commitment to sustainable growth and corporate social responsibility. “We will ensure that our company’s strategic goals are aligned with the long-term goals of society as a whole,” said Madam Sun Yafang, Chairwoman of Huawei. “We are committed to sustainable value creation, and will not sacrifice long-term economic prosperity and social welfare for our own short-term interests.”

Huawei Pakistan collaborated for its first solar-powered Macro Base Station (BTS) in Mirpur, AJK area. The remote-controlled Macro BTS allows the service provider to extend the reach of its network into remote areas that have limited access to the electricity grid.

Demonstrating commitment to exploring renewable energy solutions, Huawei Pakistan has introduced solar and wind hybrid solutions and solar and diesel hybrid solutions for mobile communication sites, which optimize energy efficiency, while significantly reducing the total cost of ownership. Extending its environment friendly initiatives, the company initiated a Tree Plantation Campaign with Capital Development Authority (CDA) .

Social Causes

Over the years, Huawei Pakistan has consistently supported deserving causes in order to contribute to the development of a sustainable and happy society and a better future. On more than one occasion, Huawei donated furniture, stationary items, study material and electronics to the students of Pakistan Sweet Homes.

In times of natural calamities and emergencies, Huawei plays its role as an active member of society through aid and donations. During emergencies such as the 2005 earthquake the company donated money to support earthquake victims in rebuilding infrastructure.  During the foods of 2010, in addition to Huawei’s donations through the Pakistan Prime Minister Secretariat and Pakistan Embassy in China, a collection bank was set up in all local offices where Huawei staff donated generously. A substantial amount was collected and distributed to flood-stricken areas through the China Embassy in Pakistan.

In the spirit of the Pakistan-China friendship and taking note of Pakistanis’ interest to learn Chinese, Huawei offers Chinese language classes for employees as well as other interested candidates.

Keeping with the company’s global vision to build a sustainable, better connected world, Huawei Pakistan’s CSR initiatives continue to make steady progress in building a healthy ICT ecosystem, promoting environment protection, and contributing to a happy society.

Careem’s Pizza Hut Discount: The Truth Behind the Fiasco!

Last week, Careem had created a storm by rolling out an out-of-the-box campaign called ‘The Rishta Aunty’. Some loved the idea and lauded the strategy. The rest hated it and bash the ride-hailing service. However, the whole of Pakistan was talking about the promotion and we are sure that is what Careem actually wanted!

Now, the service has made it to the news again! This time for all the wrong reasons.

Careem Commits a Fraud?

Yesterday, Careem subscribers must have received this e-mail and what a golden offer it appeared to be!

All Careem fans who had used the service in last 24 hours were allowed to avail the 20% off deal! It was a must to dine-in and the discount was valid from 24th July to 24th August.

Pizza Hut Strikes Back!

While users of the service were ecstatic to get their hands on the offer, who knew that Pizza Hut appeared clueless about this collaboration!

Naturally, the fast-food chain took immediate action and denied the availability of any such promotion!

Yikes, seems like there was a big confusion between both the brands!

A havoc has created since then on social media! Apparently, some people went to Pizza Hut to avail the deal and came out disappointed!

Finally, Careem has responded to the whole hullabaloo and revealed what actually happened!

Our campaign with Pizza hut is no longer in effect due to an unfortunate communication lapse. Rest assured, that we will be bringing you amazing discounted deals very soon. We regret any inconvenience caused.

The cat is now out of the bag! It is for sure that Careem has NOT committed any fraud. So now that Pizza Hut’s 20% off with Careem is no more, the brand has promised some more coming soon!

Rishi Kapoor Sparks New Outrage With Cheap Tweet on Women Cricket Team!

Seems like Rishi Kapoor has lost control of his Twitter account! Time and again, he ends up tweeting something really outrageous, making his views the perfect fuel for controversies.

We all know he proclaims himself as the ultimate cricket fan! But his passion is more of a curse for the star! The whole world remembers how he ended up creating an uproar after tweeting scandalous remarks about Pakistan and its cricket team!

However, this time his target was the Indian women cricket team! Who knew, he will not spare the female players of his own nation.

Yesterday, our neighboring nation was rooting for the girls in blue shirts, praying for their victory against England!

And up came Rishi Kapoor to create an explosion on Twitter!

His tweet clearly suggested that he wanted the women’s cricket team to take their shirts off and to repeat the same act as Ganguly did upon his 2002 victory in England

After his shocking tweet, India was clearly wishing if there was a hate button on Twitter!

Clearly, Senior Kapoor was drinking again!

Instantly, people started attacking him for his appalling views!

This Indian was dense enough to take a dig at Kapoor’s Pakistani roots!

Twitterati tried bringing some sense into the actor!

But Kapoor could not handle the criticism and lost his mind at the backlash!

Oh well! Poor Poor Chintu Kapoor! When will he ever learn! We are sure never!
