Pakistan Launches First Locally-Made Ventilator

Pakistan has taken a historic step toward technological self-sufficiency with the launch of its first locally-made ventilator, unveiled by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal. This innovative device, developed by a private company under the โ€˜Uraan Pakistanโ€™ initiative, marks a significant milestone in promoting homegrown technology.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Iqbal lauded the company as a โ€œchampion of Uraan Pakistanโ€ and stressed the need to foster ambition, hard work, and intelligence among the nationโ€™s youth. He highlighted the importance of reshaping Pakistanโ€™s global image as it approaches its centennial in 2047, urging collective efforts to overcome challenges.

Iqbal also emphasised the critical role of innovation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He pointed to policy consistency and long-term reforms as key to achieving ambitious goals like expanding exports from $30 billion to $100 billion within the next decade, with the private sector playing a pivotal role.
