The Embassy of Pakistan organized “Pakistan Mango Festival” in Tokyo in attempt to further introduce Pakistani mangoes in Japan and to make the king of all fruits even more popular there.
The fruit festival was attended by a huge number of guests, including media persons, Japanese dignitaries, government officials, diplomats, and members of civil society alike, all of whom were fortunate enough to get a first-hand experience of the delicious yellow fruit loved and cherished by Pakistanis.
Not just mangoes, the guests were also welcomed by a variety of delicacies made with Pakistani mangoes.
Ambassador Imtiaz Ahmad proudly informed the festival’s guests that, more than 200 major varieties of the fruit are grown in Sindh and Punjab and 100,000 tons of the best quality mangoes are exported from Pakistan to markets in Europe, Middle East, Asia and the Far East.
With 2 million tons of yield, Pakistan is the 5th largest producer and the 3rd largest exporter of mangoes, which earns us around $ 100 million every year.
It is great to see people all over the world enjoying this delicious fruit that Pakistanis take such pride in!
