Pakistanโs Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Malaysiaโs Foreign Minister Datoโ Seri Utama Hajji Mohamad bin Hajji Hasan on Monday about the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. He reaffirmed Pakistanโs strong support for the Palestinian people and backed calls for an Extraordinary OIC meeting to address the crisis.
Dar also engaged with the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt a day earlier to discuss the situation. His efforts come in response to former US President Donald Trumpโs controversial suggestion of placing Gaza under US administration and relocating Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan. The proposal has been widely condemned, particularly by Arab nations, who continue to push for a two-state solution with an independent Palestine.

Egypt is set to host a summit on February 27, bringing together Arab leaders to discuss developments in Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, humanitarian aid continues to flow into Gaza following a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that began on January 19. However, the truce remains fragile, with Israel insisting it will not withdraw entirely until Hamas is dismantled. Hamas maintains that it will not release the remaining hostages unless Israeli forces leave Gaza.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas is gradually releasing Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and humanitarian aid. The next phase of the deal includes a full Israeli withdrawal in return for the release of all remaining hostages, including a commitment to lasting peace.
